Hi, da du die offizielle Tumblr Autorität für die DB bist, kannst du kurz erklären was mit dem Streik aktuell los ist? Ich bin grundsätzlich immer auf der Seite der Arbeiter, aber ich höre auch immer mehr, dass die Ziele der Gewerkschaft nicht realistisch sind aus Gründen die die DB selbst nicht ändern kann (u.a. kürzere Arbeitswochen vs. Zu wenig Personal). Und in dem Fall kann ich natürlich verstehen, dass Leute zunehmend genervt sind, wenn die Sache nicht mal was bringt.

Der Tarifvertrag der Lokführer ist ja Oktober 2023 ausgelaufen. Die Streiks der GDL sind erstmal ein legitimes Mittel, unabhängig von ihren Forderungen. Solche "kleinen" Warnstreiks sind in Deutschland, insofern der Tarifvertrag einer Branche ausgelaufen ist und die Verhandlungen gescheitert sind, legal.

Die Verhandlungen waren relativ schnell für erfolglos erklärt worden. Das mag jetzt auch an dem Maße der Forderungen liegen. U.a. will die GDL eine Reduzierung von 38 auf 35 Arbeitsstunden bei Vollzeitstellen (bei voller Bezahlung), Inflationsausgleich und ca. 500 Euro mehr pro Monat. Letzteres klingt alleine schon krass, aber der Tarifvertrag der für mich relevant ist wurde letztes Jahr auch erneuert- das tarifliche Einstiegsgehalt für Facharbeiter wurde da auch mal eben um 480 Euro brutto erhöht. Inwiefern die Forderungen jetzt realistisch sind kann ich nicht beurteilen. Der Bahn fehlt's an Mitarbeitern, da ist es schwierig mal eben Arbeitszeiten noch weiter zu reduzieren. Gleichzeitig bekommst du auch schwer Zuwachs, wenn du die Stellen nicht attraktiver gestaltest.

Gerade wenn es um die Bahn geht ist die öffentliche Debatte zudem einfach extrem aufgeheizt. Wenn die Gewerkschaft der Metallarbeiter streikt bekommt der Durchschnittsdeutsche vielleicht kaum was mit, wenn die Bahn mal für acht Stunden streikt ist Endzeitstimmung. Diese stark polarisierten Darstellungen der Verhandlungsparteien ist natürlich auch irgendwie Strategie. Was man hier mitkriegt ist keine wirkliche Unverschämtheit, sondern einfach ein kleiner Einblick in das reguläre System der Tarifverhandlungen in Deutschland. Man hat hier mal ein kleines Glasfenster mit Blick auf deutsche Politik und Wirtschaft, und alle finden die Aussicht kacke.

The planned industrial action will start at 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning — and a few hours earlier for freight services — and continue until 6 p.m. the following Monday. Although it's the latest in a series of GDL strikes, the threatened six-day action is set to last longer than those that have come before. German rail operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) had tried to tempt the union back to the negotiating table with a new offer on pay and conditions on Friday, which the GDL said it was rejecting. "With its third and supposedly improved offer, Deutsche Bahn has again shown that it is continuing its previous course of noncompliance and confrontation — there's no trace of a willingness to reconcile," the GDL said in its press release. The new strike would be the fourth in the current row over pay between DB and the GDL. The GDL staged two large warning strikes late in 2023, and then another earlier in January that lasted three days and led to drastic reductions in available services. DB even tried and failed to stop the strikes earlier this month via a court injunction. [...]

According to DB, its latest offer to the GDL foresaw a 4.8% pay increase on average for employees starting in August and a further 5% as of April 2025. DB has said the terms would also include a compensatory payment to account for inflation that would be fixed for a period of 32 months. Starting in 2026, it would also offer employees on shift rotations the option to move from an average of 38 hours a week to 37, or to receive extra pay if they do not wish to reduce their workload. The GDL, meanwhile, is calling for an extra €550 (about $600) a month before tax for employees, and an inflation compensation payment fixed only for a period of 12 months. It's also calling for an immediate reduction in shift workers' hours from 38 to 35, with no change in remuneration.

US Developing New Version of Scary Abrams Main Battle Tank - Technology Org

The M1 Abrams has been in service since 1980. It is still one of the most capable main battle tanks in the world, but even the most common versions the M1A1 and M1A2 are starting to show signs of their design ageing. So, this tank needs to be upgraded, but how?

While the standard M1 Abrams has been in service since 1980, the most common versions are slightly younger. The M1A1 was produced from 1985 to 1992, and the M1A2 – from 1992. In general, the Abrams platform has proven its advantages in battles and so far surpasses the technology of potential enemies. However, it is clear that the Abrams must be developed further, but there are limitations to this.

It’s hard to believe, but the first Abrams weighed 55.7 tonnes. They were equipped with a 105 mm rifled gun and had slightly weaker armour. The M1A1 initially retained this weight, but the M1A1SA grew to 61.3 tonnes and the M1A2 – to 62 tonnes. And that weight gain continued little by little.

The M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams weighs about 67 tonnes. One can look at the tank’s mobility, maintained maximum speed and other dynamic characteristics, but one cannot ignore the fact that, being so heavy, the Abrams is a huge weight on the specialists of military logistics. The US wants to be able to operate globally, but moving such heavy tanks quickly is very difficult.

What is the path of modernization then? Well, upgraded tanks usually get heavier. Additional armour is attached to them because anti-tank weapons, including drones, are being developed faster than tanks. In the past, kilograms were saved by keeping relatively thinner armour on top, but now you can’t even do that – anti-tank drones are cheap and everywhere.

On 2023 September 6 The US Army announced that it had cancelled the planned M1A2 SEPv4 variant and would instead focus resources on the new M1E3 Abrams. The new model will have a modular architecture and will be lighter but with even better protection.

“The Abrams Tank can no longer grow its capabilities without adding weight, and we need to reduce its logistical footprint,” said Maj. Gen. Glenn Dean, Program Executive Officer for Ground Combat Systems. He said that the war in Ukraine showed that crews need to be protected better, but not with added armour.

The M1E3 Abrams is likely to rely heavily on active protection, which is lighter than conventional armour. The US Army promises that the Abrams will remain the most capable main battle tank in the world. The M1E3 version is planned to start service around 2030 and it will continue working well into the next decade.

Los Ángeles (EE.UU.), 5 dic (EFE).- Ni siquiera los teólogos coinciden en calificar a la iglesia cristiana La Luz del Mundo como una secta pero, casi un siglo después de su fundación, de lo que no cabe duda es de las agresiones sexuales y los abusos a menores que perpetraron sus cabecillas durante las últimas décadas.

Una dinámica de prácticas salvajes que son retratadas en el documental «Unveiled: Surviving La Luz del Mundo», que se estrena este martes en la plataforma HBO, usando como hilo conductor los desgarradores testimonios de casi una decena de víctimas, sobre todo mujeres.

«Creo que hay gente maravillosa dentro de La Luz del Mundo, pero desafortunadamente sus líderes han estado abusando de ellas y de su poder durante años», puntualizó en declaraciones a Efe Jennifer Tiexiera, directora de esta docuserie de tres capítulos.

El actual líder de la institución, Naasón Joaquín García, se declaró culpable de abuso sexual ante un tribunal de Los Ángeles (Estados Unidos) hace justamente 6 meses y se encuentra cumpliendo una pena de cárcel que podría mantenerlo entre rejas hasta 17 años.

La Luz del Mundo fue fundada en 1926 por el mexicano Eusebio Joaquín González y su legado lo continuó su hijo, Samuel Joaquín, hasta su fallecimiento en 2014, dejando a Naasón Joaquín, nieto de Eusebio e hijo de Samuel, al frente de la organización desde entonces.

Algunas de las víctimas que aparecen en esta pieza audiovisual salieron de su anonimato para denunciar el régimen de terror instaurado en esta suerte de culto que considera a su líder como «Apóstol», divinidad y reencarnación de Dios en la Tierra.

El relato de sus experiencias supone una descripción atroz de depravados episodios en los que se incluyen violaciones, humillaciones, uso de drogas, coacción a menores para que participaran en orgías e incluso amenazas para que accedieran a practicar sadomasoquismo.

Todo en un hermético ambiente de secretismo en el que debían «sentirse bendecidos» por pasar tiempo con «El Emisario de Dios» y no contar nada de lo ocurrido a sus familiares o, de lo contrario, serían excomulgados, desterrados ante sus allegados y tampoco se descartaba alguna represalia en forma de violencia.

Bajo la promesa de la «eterna salvación», La Luz del Mundo ha logrado incorporar a 5 millones de fieles -sobre todo procedentes de familias humildes- repartidos alrededor de 58 países y 15.000 templos, según datos de la organización.

La veracidad de estas cifras ha sido cuestionada en más de una ocasión, mientras La Luz del Mundo continúa con la apertura de nuevas iglesias y convirtiendo su sede original de Guadalajara (México) en una referencia para sus seguidores en todo el planeta.

La Divina Provincia es el barrio de esta urbe mexicana donde se encuentra el templo principal de La Luz del Mundo, de 60 metros de altura, y en el que solo habitan miembros de esta iglesia, quienes en estricta obediencia con su líder aportan el diezmo de todo lo que generan los negocios allí radicados.

Una dinámica extendida al resto de sus congregaciones fuera y dentro de México que ha permitido que los «Apóstoles» disfruten de una vida de lujos, mansiones y excesos muy alejada de la realidad de sus fieles.

El patrimonio de La Luz del Mundo, y por ende el de Naasón Joaquín, es un botín que a día de hoy ningún experto se aventura a calcular.

«En el documental nos basamos en las víctimas de abusos sexuales, pero hay muchas otras formas en las que la iglesia se aprovecha de sus devotos, como el abuso espiritual o el económico», concretó Tiexiera.

La iglesia se ha afanado en las últimas décadas en exteriorizar un proceso de renovación por el que se suavizaron algunas de sus conductas más radicales -como prohibir el acceso a internet o las redes sociales a sus miembros- para conseguir normalizar su presencia en la administración mexicana a todos los niveles.

Entre los miembros de la iglesia actualmente hay senadores, diputados federales, locales y alcaldes de distintos municipios de México.

«No voy a decir que hayamos sufrido amenazas como tal, dejémoslo en que a La Luz del Mundo no le ha gustado para nada que hagamos este documental», concluyó la directora Jennifer Tiexiera.

«Unveiled: Surviving La Luz del Mundo», como «The Vow» o «Wild Wild Country», sigue la línea de docuseries sobre escándalos sexuales en el seno de organizaciones religiosas de carácter mesiánico y promete un gran impacto en HBO.
