I enjoyed having company again on my morning jogs. Tofu struggled to keep up at first, but after a few mornings, I think she'll be just fine. I grinned like an idiot for our entire run. My doggy friends always made me happy, but helping the ones in need gave me joy I could not explain. The closest example I could think of was meeting your newborn for the first time. I don't know. Adoption was cool and all, but I think taking in strays is the move for me.

After our jog, I took Tofu to the vet's office in Newcrest. It beat going all the way to Brindleton Bay, but if Newcrest will be our new home, I may as well begin establishing our life there, eh?

The building was really cute and had an urban vibe. The doctor arrived around the same time I did, so I assumed they opened late on the weekends. She was very young. At first, I thought she may have been an assistant or something. She greeted me and asked for a few minutes to prepare for opening. I apologized for arriving so early and told her to take all the time she needed.

I loved the waiting area. It had plenty of kiosks to check-in, but just like the other place, someone still insisted on queuing behind me. At least he wasn't annoying like the cute cat guy. How was he doing, anyway? He should be really old now.

When I finished checking in, the doctor looked at my information on her phone. How progressive! She turned toward Tofu and greeted her like an honored guest.

"Hello, Tofu! Welcome! I'm so happy to meet you! Come, let's get you checked out."

Regardless of her age, she knew exactly what she was doing, and I knew I picked the right doctor for my new baby. Tofu followed her and only looked back at me once. She must have felt comfortable with her, and I was glad.

There were only two rooms in the office. One for examinations and the other for surgeries.

"You run this practice by yourself?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am! Your fur babies get nervous about going to the doctor just like you do. I run this place alone so your pets can have a consistent experience and only need to get to know one person."

"That's very thoughtful of you!"

Surely, being the only doctor placed a high demand on her time and allowed little room to grow. But I got the feeling she wasn't in it for the money, anyway.

She got Tofu on the table and took out a blank form.

"One way I get the animals comfortable with me is to talk to them. I'm gonna ask her some questions, but I'm really asking you, okay?"

"That's so adorable," I said.

She asked Tofu about her favorite food, toys, fears, quirks, and all kinds of stuff. But I didn't have many answers.

"I'm sorry," I said. "I don't know her that well yet. You see, I took her in yesterday."

"Oh! Well, that's wonderful! And it's okay. We don't need to do this now. We can fill in the blanks as we all get to know each other. Isn't that right, Tofu?"

I think she smiled at the nice doctor. I wish I remembered her name.

"I like to create a personal profile for my patients so I can provide individualized care. Okay, Tofu, I'm gonna check you out now. Is that okay?"

The doctor did her thing, and Tofu sat quietly and let her.

"Aren't you the sweetest," the doctor said.

"Yes, Tofu," I said. "You are sweet!"

She finished her examination and concluded Tofu was very healthy, which was exceptional since she lived on the street. She didn't have on a collar, but the doctor wondered if she wasn't a stray but a lost dog a long way from home. It pained me to think I may have stolen someone else's dog, but I put that out of mind. She belonged to me now, and I wouldn't give her up.

Doc helped Tofu off the table and thanked me for bringing her in.

"It's really cool what you did. Not too many people will take dogs off the street like that."

"Oh, it was nothing. I didn't give it a second thought. I've done it before. I think it's my thing now."

"Well, it's great," she said.

She gave Tofu some treats and got ready for her next patient. We went to the backyard for a little playtime, and she had the time of her life.

PMD: Expanded Sky v1.2.1 is now live!

(the following post is about 1.2.0, but I've just rushed out a quick hotfix that enables the evolution flag for Froakie and Litten, so update to 1.2.1 if you want evolution for those guys to actually work)

Emulator compatibility fixes, new evolutions, more portraits for final evos, easily obtained fairy gummis and more!

(for those who missed it, this is a pmd eos mod that adds starters from gens 5-9)

First (and most important) big update: some of you may have noticed that saving failed while playing on Melon emulator in previous versions (And potentially DraStic and RetroArch too).

This was due to a bugfix patch available in Skytemple that I decided to apply in order to fix saves for the No$Gba emulator, which wasn't compatible with the above. The latest provides versions compatible with all four of these emulators (The first three in one folder, the last in the other folder). If you're not using any of those emulators (or are running via other means) you should be okay to use whichever. The file structure should be pretty self explanatory but check the included .txt if you're not sure!

As you might also be able to tell, Greninja and Incineroar are now in the game! Note that assets for Torracat and Frogadier are incomplete in the sprite repository as of now, so Litten and Froakie evolve directly into their final evolutions for now.

If you're already playing expanded sky but want to update, patch your clean copy of eos again with the same file name you used already and carry on - both versions of 1.2.0 are fully compatible with existing expanded sky saves! (Tested updating from 1.1.2 to 1.2.0)

Other minor updates:

Decidueye no longer uses Dartrix sprites (woops)

Several abilities and IQ groups are now fixed

Fairy gummis can now be found at the kecleon store and as mission rewards

New additional fanmade portraits and/or animation sprites have been added to several final evolutions of gen 1-4 starter pokémon, courtesy of the PMD Sprite Repository. More info on which can be found in the .txt.

Gen 1-4 pokémon that can learn Disarming Voice and Moonblast in sun and moon can now learn them in this mod, too.

New fire starters are no longer in Giant Volcano, but Oran Forest is now named Expanded Forest and has exclusively all of the new starter pokémon.

Hello there Bettina Levi, I literally just made a tumblr account just to say how much I like your YouTube videos/shorts. I'll probably wait untill you eventually respond (or not) but also probably not stay on the platform for more than 4 days. Should I stay here? Is it worth it? rules: there are none! rules make me mad so this is just a generational challenge that you can fuck up however you want!

gen 1 - your average farmer

you start out in an empty lot in the cottage living world (I can't remember the name). Only do your farming at night (unless you're a sadist and want to torture your sims, I can't stop you) you build up an evil, vampire farming empire while still trying to seem normal.

traits: loves outdoors, loner, evil

aspiration: the plant one

requirements: lvl 10 gardening, lvl 5 fitness, have at least 100,000 simoleons at once, befriend at least 2 original villagers.

gen 2 - totally just a goth musician

you want to be famous. you start out your dreams by living in a shitty 1 bed 1 bath apartment in San Myshuno. You attend those karaoke nights with your friends sometimes. Or yourself, depends if you're lonely or not. You eventually build up your fame and sleep with another famous celebrity of the same status, but oh no! you got/got someone pregnant. woops! guess you have to marry them now. or don't! whatever

traits: ambitious, high maintenance, music lover

aspiration: world famous celebrity OR musical genius

requirements: lvl 10 singing & organ/piano (add on guitar if you really have free time), attend at least one karaoke session, reach at least 4 star celeb status, be in the musician branch of the entertainer career, have a baby with another celeb 4+ stars that you ARENT dating/married to. bonus points if they cheated.

gen 3 - librarian that totally sees the sun

you hate your parents. well, maybe not HATE, but lord you don't wanna be in the same house as them, so you moved out when you were a teen! you study hard, you love to read, so you took the easiest path and became a bookstore owner! You eventually fall in love with one of your regulars, and you run the not-vampy bookstore together.

traits: book lover, genius, self assured

aspiration: renaissance sim

requirements: lvl 10 research and debate, got mostly good grades, married to one of the bookstore regulars, own a bookstore, move out as a teen

gen 4 - caleb vatore but not

you're a hoe. you bounce from sim to sim like they're trampolines. you love the drama and you love relationships but you hate committing. You've been a flirt since high school. You've probably gotten people pregnant (even if you're a woman, it'll work goddamnit) but hey, dating! that is, until you find the most pure soul and you fall SO HARD. it comes out of nowhere. so, you break up with them! you're too scared to love them, too scared you'll ruin things. Once you come to your senses, you find them and rekindle things. you slowly get into a relationship with them again, but you two fight a lot. it's a rough road, but you get there. Oh, and you propose in a cute spot. So y'all get married and have a cute, suburban family life. though you feed on anyone who even looks at her because she's yours :)

requirements: lvl 10 rizz (charisma), must date at least 7 other people starting in highschool, find 'the one', break up with them, get back together with them, have at least one fight with them, get married to them, feed on at least two people that talk to her

gen 5 (last gen) - not a vampire overlord, just Edward from twilight

you're a vampire overlord. well, not yet. you've dreamed of it since you were little. you wanna be Vladdy daddy level. So, that's what you plan to do! you work up your vampire status! but, you fail miserably so now you decided to write a series of romance novels about vampire overlords called Witlight! (pronounced why-tl-ight) and it's totally not a ripoff of twilight! You get pretty popular, and you release at least 3. You eventually find your next feeding victim at the local coffee shop, but end up falling in love with them. and then you turn them to a vampire and y'all become overlords together and turn others into vampires. and sometimes you steal your victims belongings.

traits: loyal, materialistic, kleptomaniac

aspiration: master vampire OR best selling author

requirements: live in Windenburg, lvl 10 writing, feed off of your future spouse at least once before dating, release at least three books, join the writer career, date them, marriage, feed off at least 2 other sims with them, steal at least one thing.

Ros-Marie had been feeling unwell for several years at this point.

She complained of headaches a lot, and had little energy to do much about the house.

So it was, sadly, perhaps not that big of a surprise that tragedy was waiting around the corner.

Alida found Ros-Marie by the cupboard early on a summer's morning in 1730.

She seemed to have passed away at some point during the night, seemingly having gotten up to do...something.

Perhaps she had wanted to try to cook one last time before she went.

The family was devastated by their loss. The younger children didn't quite understand what Ros-Marie's passing even meant and had had only a little interaction with her, but the older kids like Ulf, Viola and Karl were deeply wounded at losing their only grandmother.

But out of everyone in the family the person who was most stricken by her passing was Ingmar.

Alida had to completely take over organising the immediate post-mortem affairs as Ingmar was unable to do anything other than sob helplessly.

She ached to hug and comfort him, but with a farm, home and five children to look out for she had to put her concern aside and organise everything.

The funeral was a quiet and somber affair. There weren't many people alive who had many memories of Ros-Marie aside from her family, so it was a relatively private occassion.

She was buried towards the back of the graveyard and received a small but intricately carved tombstone.

As time had passed Ingmar had gone from crying to a sort of quiet despair that hung in the air around him. He got back to caring for the farm and caring for the animals and children, but the sadness never left.

As the rest of the funeral-goers left the graveyard he and Alida lingered.

As they turned to go he sighed heavily and Alida turned to comfort her husband.

"My poor love," she said, unsure of what else there was to say. She remembered well the loss of her own mother shortly before their wedding, and knew how little comfort there was in knowing they had passed from old age.

"I can't stop thinking about Edith," he confessed, "She never got to see our mum one last time. She doesn't even know..."

"Oh, dearest," Alida said, "I'm sure wherever your sister is she thinks of you still. Perhaps your mother's spirit will visit her one last time before going to Heaven."

There was little comfort in her statement, and they both knew that all too well. They didn't talk about Edith, poor kidnapped Edith, much or often.

As the years had gone by their conversations had been more often occupied with their ever growing family.

"Perhaps," Ingmar said after a long silence, "Perhaps she knows somehow. I hope she knows somehow."

"I hope she--" Alida was interrupted by the distant of sound of one of the children making a ruckus and sighed.

"Go," Ingmar forced a smile, "I'll be right with you."

I got home a little after midnight, starving, and found Ali wide awake playing chess. He said he woke up to pee and saw I wasn’t home yet and waited up for me.

“Where were you?” he asked.

“Across the street. You were knocked out when I got home, and I needed to catch up with Dwayne.”

He turned to me, probably to ask how Dwayne held up. Mrs. Pancakes died just before the wedding. But he saw my second trimester belly for the first time and jumped up to caress it. “I can’t believe we’re gonna be parents, Em!”

“Speaking of... Would you want to know what it is sooner rather than later?”

He grinned so wide they could paint lanes on his face and make it a new highway. “I thought you’d never ask!”

Zoe and Francisco are Engaged!

 Francisco asked Zoe to marry him in the sunroom (AN: no idea what the actual name is) of the new botanical gardens in Willowcreek - how they got to Willowcreek you ask? You’re about to find out. Francisco had to drive up to Willowcreek to do some paperwork for the military (he’s due for relocation soon!) and thought it would be a good idea to propose at the botanical gardens as he’d heard from others that it was a beautiful place. He obviously asked for Allan and Casandra’s blessing before working on a plan with them that wouldn’t raise suspicion in Zoe. The plan was that Francisco would suggest the trip up to Willowcreek to Zoe (with Macie as chaperone) for them to use as an opportunity to spend time together as his days off aren’t the same as a regular 9-5 job and he’s due for a move soon. When they got to Willowcreek, Francisco left Zoe and Macie at Adalynn’s house while he headed to the botanical gardens to set up the area that he planned to use to propose. Francisco then headed back to pick up the girls and they all headed into the gardens together, the group wandering around the garden before making their way into the sunroom where Macie split off to her chaperones table whilst Francisco and Zoe sat at the table he had prepared.

They chatted and enjoyed wonderful conversations on the latest happenings in their lives, even though they talk on the phone everyday. Zoe has taken over the homeschooling of her teenage siblings, including the musical education, so her time is well used.

When the group noticed it was time to start thinking of making the drive back home, Macie suggested they take some couple pictures to commemorate their date, it was during said photo opportunity that Francisco proposed, and Zoe said yes!
