The New Year is upon us! 

Thought I’d take a second away from my Good Omens content and chart down some goals I want to work on this year. If you skip, I hope you have a great start to 2024!✨

(content down below:) 

Continuing to dive into things I am passionate about, working out a balance in both my professional field of study and personal life (professional: discovering new viola works and engaging with the music-historian mindset, giving myself those opportunities to refresh my love for the instrument and to take some stress away from the demands of the performance route) (personal: continuing to engage with fandom things, aka GOOD OMENS lol, observing/admiring more artworks, etc.)  

Protecting my peace. I want to surround myself with good energy and people who will accept me for who I am, and not criticize me for being myself (particularly w family members)

Documenting more things! (whether that is via journaling, pictures/videos), and working to focus on both how the good and bad experiences serve in my growth (as a person and a musician). The second part is a life-long exploratory journey, but one I will always actively work towards improving on, even when I feel that I am in a good place with it.

Give myself more grace, particularly when things are rough and my mind wants to shut out the world. Showing the same kind of compassion and support for myself as I do for others around me.

This year was a pretty hectic time for my life moving forward, going by too fast at times, but I hope 2024 brings in some good times! Cheers🫶✨

In 'demon's guide to angelic beings who walk the earth'(the book Furfur has in S2Ep4), there's a little text about Baraqiel. I'll write it down:

Baraqiel

Dominion, Angel of the Sky

'Appearance: Hair an eye-burning jinnjer. Eyebrows with the appearance of a grisly slug. Often draped in red. Occashonly damp, most likely singed.'

(Spelling errors are not by me btw. It's written like that since demons have an awful grammar, just like me. Also, over the computer Amazon has a way better quality when you zoom in. Can't zoom in over my phone in Amazon lol.)

So here the very obvious conclusion: Crowley is Baraqiel. But even without the description of his hair, I would say the same. Baraqiel's title alone, 'Angel of the Sky', would be too much of a coincidence, when the season starts with Crowley creating the stars. But if that's not enough, let's talk about an other scene. S2Ep6

Why's there such an focus on Dominion? Muriel could've just said Throne or above.

And yet another thing. Baraqiel's description fits perfectly into the small space that would be free.

If you can be sure about one thing, then it's that Good Omens is full of little details. I don't believe in something being a coincidence in the show.

Another name I want to bring into this is Kokabiel. He's also from the book of Enoch, just like Baraqiel. His name literally means 'angel of the stars'. And unlike Baraqiel, he's officially a fallen angel. But Baraqiel is more hinted at, so I run with it.

crowley wearing sunglasses on all occasions makes more sense knowing the science behind vertical pupils and why some snakes have them!

like yes we know it's to hide his eyes (btw he could get away with them and people will just think he's even more Goth) but the vertical pupil has a use! there is a reason that carnivorous animals that are lower on the food chain have them and why others didn't evolve this way!

he is a snake (or serpent but same dif). the only snakes with vertical pupils are nocturnal or crepuscular (more active at dawn/dusk) and the vertical pupils change for the amount of light better than round ones like ours. this is so they can hunt at times their predators aren't as active but can still see.

soooo when it's so super bright out his little eyes hurt :( and when it's dark his pupils widen and let plenty of light in through the sun glasses! the vertical pupils also make things close by much easier to see! (this is some-what recent research)

Crowley is near sighted and bright lights aren't the best for his eyes :)

from this my favorite head cannon has been born into my good omens rotten brain:

crowley hasn't gotten very many good looks at aziraphale since he fell (well sauntered) except when they are very very close together and the lighting is just right and in s2ep6 this is one of those times that he had to actually not look but See aziraphale in full and perfect vision and it may be the last time crowley every gets the chance again. for me it puts even further meaning into why put his sunglasses on. was it so he wouldn't have to see him as closely and create a greater distance by showing his trust was broken or so he could see him just right? what about in season 1 when crowley pins him to the wall in the old convent? was this just to get the point across or so he could get a good look at aziraphale? there are more examples probably but you get the idea.

what if this is actually why crowley doesn't want to read books or why he is terrible at driving! there are so many options. when he bumps into things this isn't just david tennant being blinded by contacts and sunglasses, it's crowley actually unable to see properly because he was cursed by a snakes terrible eyesight without being given heat pits to see thermally!

tldr: what if crowleys eyes worked like my pet snakes with vertical pupils and he was gay about it
