I'm finishing GLOW and I am 200% sure that Netflix was looking for an excuse to cancel it.

They couldn't genuine queer representation in all it's messy glory and mess.

They couldn't handle women showing how *fucked up* the TV and movie businesses and corporate America are.

They couldn't handle giving older women great storylines.

They couldn't handle women of colour sharing their stories and what those stories actually mean.

They couldn't handle the sheer non-normative sex appeal they had on screen.

Audiences did not deserve this. This wasn't just COVID. COVID was just the excuse.

ok so I’m only eight or nine episodes into glow so take this with a grain of salt but the way this show portrays women as messy and complicated and allows them to be unlikeable without their whole character being bitch full stop and has a female antihero and a whole host of women who fuck up and still get to be treated as people and not plot devices…. it’s kind of alarming to me that it’s so refreshing because this is just how women should be written

#I do have some concerns about the gratuitous nudity #I’m not against nudity in shows but I sure hope the actresses were fully on board with that and not pressured/exploited #some of it kinda comes with the territory for a wrestling show though #anyways this show is Good so far #glow #gorgeous ladies of wrestling
