Last Sunday, we read about the corn of wheat that needs to fall into the ground and die. In the children's service, they planted little corns of wheat. The corns have sprouted much faster than I expected (I'm used to tomatoes, which need 8-10 days), and it seems that my 4y/o planted a few corns extra 😅

worked v hard today preparing a cosy bed for my beautiful pea children

#their cousin broad beans are sleeping under a warm blanket in the bed next door #and the other bed we are experimenting w covering it with chopped plants til spring. it looks messy but i think it'll do the soil good. #felt good to do some physical work today. did have an accidental nap afterwards though. i am very tired this week. #growing things

So last autumn I put all the old plants into this blue tub, rather than throwing them in the trash. I covered them with an old ikea bag and left them alone for half a year. And - One Of Nature's MYSTERIES!!! - most of it turned to earth! The lemon balm roots survived and put up some new shoots, to the great satisfaction of my 4y/o. She loves snacking on my plants, and I don't really use lemon balm for cooking, which means that she's free to eat as many leaves as she wants from it.

Anyway, the planting tubs have been filled with earth. The tomato plants, herbs and bean seeds have been planted. Everything has been watered. Time to take it easy and wait for growth!

Long story short, I have mice that I’m currently struggling to manage, but more importantly, they ATE ALL MY SEEDS.

I had saved wild rocket seeds, purslane seeds, dandelion seeds, so I can seed my lawn with more edible plants. The mice ate them because I had them packed in a box before I had mouse issues, and they were in a plastic bag, not a glass jar.

I am asking for someone to send me some dandelion seeds so I can cover my lawn with dandelions. Both to help the bees, and for food purposes (greens, and to make dandelion-lemon honey for the winter). Also my landlord will be annoyed because I’ve asked him not to touch my lawn, due to me not having any other green spot to hang out in with my tiny dog. They will be safe. :D

Do you have any spare seeds? DM and I will send you my PO box; and for helping out a fellow tumblr queer I will send you An Art in return.
