In @queengurako's post, they mentioned that in the Hakuouki fanbook, the more pureblooded an oni is, the more horns they have(?) - does that mean that Chizuru and Kaoru aren't direct descendants to Kazuya in Toki no Kizuna? Here in the character sheet of Kazuya, he has longer horns, has markings around his body, and in transformation, grows his hair.

Or did they blend with humans too much(in two to three generations?) that they've lost this feature? Didn't think that to be the case considering they separated themselves from human civilization.

Oh, also! Sen's ancestor, Yase Kazuha, is simply fabulous. She's so perfect (⁠*⁠˘⁠︶⁠˘⁠*⁠)⁠.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡

Thinking of a scenario about Kaoru being adopted(mistakenly abducted) by Kodō, where he mistook him for Chizuru while they were escaping. It is mentioned in the game that Kodō had the opportunity to take both of them, but Kaoru left to take Chizuru's place; whereas in this idea, the Nagumo were quicker to take Chizuru when they've heard of some commotion in the eastern lands.

Kodō is a mixed bag, as he seems to be implied to be not a pureblood, a hanyō of sorts, he might treat Kaoru's capabilities a mirror of his own. Is Kaoru weak due to his upbringing, or was it simply innate that he had been weaker than other male oni in comparison?

Considering that his characterization is inconsistent alike to Kazama's, his demeanor to Kaoru could be subjective. Would he be as nice as he was to Chizuru, caring for him and teaching him about the mundane life of men?

Or would he be opportunistic to use Kaoru on his experimentations which leads to abuse, similar to how the Nagumo had treated him?

He is assumably easy to convince by authorities as long as it serves his interests, for as seen when he had easily betrayed the Yukimura Clan when the shogunate prompted him to, he did unto the shogunate for Nagumo's support. Why had he been alturistic, albeit passively manipulating Chizuru through sparse information, when he could have had been much forward and aggressive on his intentions? Was it guilt and pity that empowered those actions? Or his desire have his existence validated by a pureblood by caring for one - a messed up father-daughter relationship?

Seven Nights, Epilogue

June 1869

The last of the powdered herbs spill onto the paper, easily funneled into a small pile and folded into a square envelope. With a careful application of ink, the name is marked and the medication set aside.

Ah – Chizuru leans back, hands braced at her ribs as she leans backwards and feels her bones rightfully settle where they should have been all along. With a smile, she appraises the neat rows ready for tomorrow morning's round of pickups. For as hard as Sususmu works on finalizing his studies so he can focus more on Dutch medicines, she will forever be grateful for the ryo his teas bring home.

The door to the clinic slides open – odd, considering the time of day – and she wipes the residual powder off of her hands. “Welcome!” she calls, coming around the corner. “We’re done seeing patients for today. If this is an emergency–”

She never gets to finish her sentence. In the entrance to their home, the silhouette of a messenger blocks the early evening sun, casting a long shadow across her threshold. Perhaps it is because she cannot make out the features of the man's face that a chill runs down Chizuru’s spine despite the lingering summer heat.

“Is this the home of Yukimura-sensei?”

As you can see this is a redraw of an old fanart. The idea behind it was that Chizuru was having dreams of her past life with the Shinsengumi. All of the guys have been reincarnated into the modern world as well, but Chizuru doesn't believe her dreams have any weight until she crosses an incredibly familiar face one day.

WIP: Princess Zelda and Harada Sanosuke

There is a lot to do...

Both figures are at least 5 years old and still have some mistakes, which I am currently trying to correct.

If I would model them again, I would do some things differently - but I'm too lazy for that at the moment 😶

I have now sanded off the biggest bumps, next I will remove the grey layer of paint.

Zelda is the smallest figure I have modelled so far and measures about 18 cm.

Chizuru's demise

The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the silent clearing.

Chizuru's anguished scream pierced the stillness as Okita's sword found its mark, plunging into her chest with a sickening thud.

Her tear-streaked face locked in a gaze with her lover, now consumed by madness.

Roughly he withdrew the blade, leaving her gasping for breath on the blood-soaked ground.

Okita's once mad smile faltered, replaced by a look of horror as reality crashed down upon him.

"Chizuru?" His voice wavered, betraying his disbelief at the tragedy that unfolded before him.

The sword slipped from his grasp, forgotten in the grass as he knelt by her side, he clung to her fading warmth, pleading for forgiveness that could never come.

"I'm so sorry!" His words were a whispered plea, drowned out by his own sobs of regret. Pressing a shaking hand to her chest, he begged for forgiveness again and again, knowing that his actions had sealed her fate.

As Chizuru's life slipped away, her lips moved in a silent attempt to convey her final thoughts to the man who had unwittingly brought about her demise.

"Don't worry, I won't let you die alone, I will be right behind you!" Said Okita. "Will you wait for me?!" Okita's voice cracked with despair, his promise to follow her into the unknown a testament to his love and guilt.

But as her eyes closed and her breath stilled, a shattered silence descended upon the clearing, leaving Okita to face the damning truth of his cursed existence. The only girl who ever loved him and cared enough about him is gone, and he is the one who took her life, by his own fury madness. Is he the cursed child who bring nothing but misery to those around him?

He gently placed her down in the ground and then he grabbed his sword and took a deep breath, ready to die. His vision blurred as he raised the sword high in front of him.

Then he heard a voice. Singing words that made him stop for a second.

"Cherry trees are abloom in their full splendor I know I'll remember you Play with me forever I know I'll remember you Forever and evermore."

As if in a trance, he lowered the sword and started walking down the dirt path, following the voice.

Because that’s when the counts started. Seventeen discharged due to loss of limb, twenty incapacitated for two months or more, nine to be placed beneath cairns. And then… the terrible arithmetic determining the ryo to be sent home.
