one thing that throws me off about happiness apotheosis interpretation is that people take it as an au in which everything is honky dory in Nevada, like an opposite parallel universe to canon. but i don't think that's the case at all and goes against the overall plot and theming of the short
in the short, we see everyone else is still in...madness. happy hank coexists within the realm canon hank does. that's why sheriff has that reaction he does with him and why he kills skittles. if there was no established violence in nevada, he wouldn't jump the gun assuming an act of genuine kindness was a threat to his life. it's what makes it ultimately extremely tragic. that even though he tried his best to be a good person it ended up with him killed. that he couldn't even bring the slightest joy because the world around him was so jaded that it couldn't comprehend someone being a decent person
skittles is a rarity in nevada and i wish more people explored the concept of a soul who does everything he can to be a good person despite there being nothing but misery and hatred around him. it's an interesting concept and to me more to explore than just "everything good au".

HAPPINESS APOTHEOSIS TRICKY
I'm treating Happiness Apotheosis as its own au, and long story short Skittles [hank] never killed tricky in this au and as such they never became a zombie >:]
Oh! also they're called sundae like those cool clown sundaes, The nickname was Skittles's idea
If anyone is interested in hearing me ramble on about my version of happiness apotheosis pls let me know!
