Kaiba hides a shaky inhale as your fingers pass through his brown hair, fingers dwelling at the base of his neck before repeating the process.

"Happy birthday to you," you sing faintly.

Mokuba sang it to him at least once today, possibly twice.

He catches your hand in his, blue eyes meeting yours with an unreadable expression. You smile, interlacing your fingers and inching closer.

You press a kiss to his lips slowly, pulling away as he smiles softly, the one he saves only for you.

“You wished for us to be together,” Kaiba said flatly, rising to his feet and moving towards the tiny shower, his body still heavy with grogginess. “Why didn’t you just wish for 10 million yen?” Because that's what he felt Joey’s life was missing.

Wishing for unrequited romance would always lead to despair.

Joey ruffled his hair in confusion and huffed under his breath, “everythin’sa bout money with you, Kaiba.”

Pretending he hadn’t heard anything, Kaiba locked himself in Joey’s shower and stood under the weak trickle of hot water. Fuck this shower head. Fuck this apartment, and fuck Joey for making him the focus of his affections.

There’s nothing good about me, Kaiba raged as he blindly swiped Joey’s soap up and down his legs, the water dripping into his eyes that were heating up with frustration.

Aside from their little lewd touches under the sheets–probably due to sleepiness and no access to privacy–Joey sucked. Aside from the weird, oddly nice sweet bread scent of Joey’s hair–Joey sucked.

He had a loud, annoying voice with that Kansai accent. He was poor. He was too friendly. Tons of negatives.

Happy Birthday to my #1 duelist in the world, Seto Kaiba! It's now the 25th October according to Japanese time, meaning his birthday celebrations have officially started! I always like to join the celebrations early, because it always makes me so happy to see people celebrate him! I'm going to share my main birthday post for him tomorrow! I'm so excited to show you all what I have prepared! I worked so hard this year for him💙Last year I promised that I'll finally get him a cake and this year I finally fulfilled it!🎂🩵I don't have a proper kitchen so I sadly couldn't bake a cake for him myself, instead I got him my favorite, a Black Forest gateau!
