big post of all my random rvb au ideas and some hcs, decided this was more reasonable than making like 20 different posts.
Hc the freelancers who die are like submarines that go missing, officially still out on patrol. Florida is the only freelancer that is officially gone from the program. A rumor starts that the freelancers suits are in some way connected to the us states so people think that when florida (state) blew up, so did Agent Florida's armour killing him in the process
(I'm an ace Tucker believer) Y'know how Tucker gets charged child support for a bunch of kids post chorus? I don't think he has any kids outside of Junior. I think a bunch of people who got pregnant post temple of procreation were like shit idk the kids other parent. Uhhhh. Let's just say it was the rich famous planetary hero guy who claims to have slept with everyone. He probably doesn't even remember the people he's slept with. And then Tucker, asexual who has had sex one (1) time and realised he didnt like it very much, is stuck between revealing to the whole goddamn planet that he doesnt actually fuck, and paying a billion dollars of child support.
In an everyone lives no one dies type au I think Donut gets Maine, Locus, South, and Wash to come to his wine and cheese hour and he does their makeup and their nails.
Au where Sigma is just so fucking invested in getting Maine and Wash to date that he doesnt do anything evil. "Agent Maine, I think you will find this course I have signed you up for quite informative" Sigma this is a couples wine and pottery class "Oh look, is that Agent Washington over there? you should go say hi."
Au where Wash and Epsilon bond. It still fucks Wash up and shit, cause yknow. Epsilon issues. But Wash goes like "I am going to fucking kill the director he fucked you ai over so much" And Epsilon is so taken aback bc of Alphas view of Wash from an outside, heavily filtered perspective made him seem happy go lucky, innocent, and a bit naive.
Au where the freelancers find out that the director is Linas dad and behind her back they're all like "hey is she okay? why does he talk to her like that?" but then whenever she's around they just accuse her of nepotism. Gamma and Sigma team up to hack the leaderboard and change her name to nepotism baby.
I love South. I wish she existed more. I wish her and North and Theta could have gotten along. I wish Theta could suit jump like Omega and Alpha. I wish Theta could spend time with South. Like yeah South wouldn't like having to share an ai with her brother but like. He's their littlest brother.
Junior and Theta could autism bond. I think they'd both like comics. Also Junior teaches Theta basketball and Theta teaches Junior to skate. Skateboard kid plus scooter kid. I think Palomo would like to skateboard too. Wash and Palomo both helped teach Theta to skateboard. Wash bc he's friends w North, Palomo bc he's at the skatepark frequently. Jensen roller skates, she's... okay at it. not good. but okay. She broke her tailbone trying to impress Palomo. Andersmith would work at a youth center that the teens hang out at. Matthews works at a movie theatre, Bitters watches a movie there every week, maybe just to see Matthews.
Sarge werebear. Simmons vampire. Grif faun. Donut Light Elemental. Lopez is a ghost that got stuck in a shitty robot Sarge built. Church and the ai are ghosts, Tex is a vampire, Caboose is a werewolf (big doggy :3). Siren Tucker. Deep sea mermaid Junior (glowing octopus type stuff). Faun Kai (same as Grif). Carolina’s a Phoenix. Wash some kind of big cat thing. Florida Shapeshifter (he prefers being reptiles). The twins are demons. 479er is a harpy. York poltergeist (throws stuff at people). Wyoming's some kind of “answer my riddles three” type of imp. Ct is also a shapeshifter. Maine’s just a regular guy with a lot of weird friends. Felix and Locus are a fire elemental and a dryad respectively. Siris is a water elemental. In my au Donut’s a light elemental which makes it so fucking funny if Church pops up and says "boo" Donut just fucking decks him. and through Church being a ghost (a form of light) and Donut being a light elemental, Donut’s fist connects. South is the demon people are more likely to fear, but North is the one you really need to look out for. When South loses her temper people get frightened, when North loses his temper people die. If there's like. a group of kids exploring or something North’ll hold South back from doing anything more than scaring them. If there's a priest attempting an exorcism or someone with a cross threatening South, their organs will be found separately from their bodies.
It's kinda funny when people make Church and Lina siblings and then Tex is just some random girl that Church likes. Like I fully understand why and the only other alternative i can think of is like. Church is the director's younger brother who was raised alongside his daughter after their parents died. and Tex is Allison's younger sister. Only way I could put together Church kinda being the director and Tex kinda being Allison but also Church and Lina being siblings without there being any relation between Tex and Church.
Florida and Ct have a coworker friends relationship i think. When they first met I think Florida said something vague and threatening to her so she pulled a knife on him. They've been sort of friends ever since.

Taking a break from sci-fi and fantasy to try and wrestle a superhero setting! These are two of Los Angeles’ most famous teams; the freelancing gray-hat Murder of Crows (who, contrary to their name, do not do murder. It’s in the contract) and the freelancing mostly-white-hat Wild and Free (who will assure you that they are not wild, but rather moderate in reality). Also their cats. Lore about the setting, why they’re wearing military uniforms, the nature of superpowers, and more below the cut.
This setting is called Layer Eta, the sixth divergent timeline from Layer Alpha, aka our reality. Layer Eta is quite a plain reality, being far less flashy than the sci-fi space opera of Zeta, or the magic post apocalypse of Epsilon. But it has felt the fallout of its two closest neighbors, as Æther and Antimatter slip into the bodies of people, animals, plants, and even fungi, blessing (or perhaps inflicting) them with superpowers.
For most of history, such super powered things were seen as witches or wizards, one-of-a-kind exotic beasts, or magical ingredients to heal or kill. But after the end of World War Two, the Cold War’s arms race kickstarted government interest in such superpowers. Special military branches were created for superpowered soldiers; the USA’s Supernatural Force, the USSR’s (later Russia’s) Extraordinary Combat Force, Great Britain’s Paranatural Military Force, etc. Eventually, independent groups of supers began cropping up, with hiring out their services to police forces and private clients, and others either integrating with or starting their own criminal enterprises. Often, these ‘private’ groups clash, either in open battle or non-combat negotiations, over everything from business interests to copyright, with so-called ‘public’ groups, which are extensions of police or military forces.
‘Private’ groups who lean towards the black-hat side are often called crews, since they usually consist of no more than ten members. This label distinguishes them from gangs, which are usually far larger but also have more non-powered members. ‘Public’ groups are called squads or units, depending on their parent organization.
Most supers, no matter their association, wear military-styled uniforms. Though most ‘public’ groups wear more modern military-style fatigues or dress uniforms, ‘private’ groups, both black and white hat, usually don more personalized and stylized clothing, often harkening back to historical military dress, with double-breasted coats, high collars, high boots, and bold colors being common. This mode of dress is one of the only holdovers from the origin of superpowered teams, as most countries (save the US) have long since dissolved their superpowered branches.
The two ‘private’ groups picture here are longtime rivals, as their respective founders, Zachary Zhou (aka Midnight Raven) and Kenneth de Klerk (aka Golden Lightning) were college friends back in the day. Both ‘realized’ their powers in college, and vowed that they’d each gather a crew and prove themselves to each other.
The Murder consists of Zachary Zhou, William Weber (Albatross and childhood friend of Zach), Victor Velásquez (Harpy, former co-worker at McDonalds with Zach and Will, and boyfriend of Logan), Logan Lloyd (Magpie and boyfriend of Victor), and Evelyn Ellis (Swallowtail and cousin by marriage of Logan).
The Wild and Free consists of Kenneth de Klerk, Lily London (Lily of the Valley, former co-worker at Home Depot with Ken, and fiancée of Robin), Robin Reed (Red Herring and fiancée of Lily), Oliver O’Connor (Cat’s Paw and adoptive brother of Ken), and Jamie Jett (Crescent Moon and former cheer teammate with Robin).
Timeskipped versions of the Murder as well as Ken appeared in this little short story that inspired this setting in the first place:

Can you tell a little about the negativerse AU
You mean The Negaverse AU? Well let’s see:
-It is set a few years after Operation P.O.O.L.
-KND and TND suffer a coup d'etat by Negative Numbuhs 274 and 362, who turn out to be Negative Delta and Negative Gamma all along, members of a legendary extremist military force lead by Empress Numbuh Alpha. Chad and Rachel both lost one eye each other during their usurpation (since this is a universe where KND is super violent, I figure why not go a bit hire wired here). They now wear opposite eyepatches with the symbols of Gamma and Delta on it  and have matching samurai helmets because they kinda are co-dictators (The design is super anime-ish lol). I’m actually considering making them a couple in this universe
-Maurice too betrayed KND and TND in the name of Alpha and forced banishment to the Teenagers who refused to follow Alpha’s new order. He’s Alpha’ Second in Command and main General of her forces. He’s cold and ruthless with his soldiers, especially if they don’t follow exactly his Empress’ wishes. He lost his right arm during the coup but Alpha gave him an alien tech new arm that has the symbol of Negative Epsilon on it. He’s in love with Alpha and is very possessive of her affection towards him.
-Ace is a mad scientist who is obsessed with fixing the world’s imperfections to make it perfect for his Empress. He crushes after her but doesn’t consider himself worthy of her love so instead he swore to serve her perfectly because to his eyes she’s the most perfect being in the universe and doesn’t deserve anything less than perfection around her. He’s constantly building and working on new tech for General Maurice since he’s the closest to her and if he thinks if he serves him well then his Empress will keep him close and that’s enough for him. Sometimes he’s ordered by Maurice to pilot the alien ship known as the Alpha’s Harpy to fight against the GKND. He gains Alpha’s favor after losing the mobility of both his legs after crashing the Alpha Harpy against an enemy ship. She awarded his dedication to her by giving him alien robotic wings that have the symbol of Negative Beta.
-GKND is an alien force dedicated to free planets from kids' tyranny. They’re lead by the legendary hero Numbuh Omega (who is white/blue colored in this universe). Legends say he used to have a sister who he had to defeat after she tried to take control of Earth thousands of years ago. He returns to the Milky Way when the rumors of the rise of a new Alpha Empress on Earth reaches him.
- Daddy and the Little Traitor Dudes for Children Defense contact Numbuh Omega for help. Benedict begs Omega to cure his children from the hive-mind curse his brother Monty caused them years ago during a lab accident and Omega does so. He then asks them to fight for him and GKND as Sector Z (in this universe Monty is not the one who creates Sector Z but the one who makes them the LTDFCD).
-Sector V works for Empress Alpha and are the ones who fight against Sector Z
-Empress Alpha Victoria is ruthless and manipulative. It is widely believed she brainwashed the best KND operatives in the world to take control of the planet in her name. She uses her beauty to make everyone bend the knee to her will. She’s black-haired in this universe and has very light blue eyes. She doesn’t love anyone but herself. She hates Omega with a raging force.
-In this AU, Omega has to convince the rebellious faction known as the Teen Samurais to join his side. Cree and Steve are part of this force.
And that’s pretty much it I think? This AU is still under construction so some things may change later lol

For your guardian oc! What's her favorite color? Does she have a favorite Vanguard? Favorite NPC? Favorite location? (Planet tower that sort of thing) Favorite activity? (Strikes, gambo, crucible, etc) Does she have a best friend? If so, who? Favorite enemy to fight? Why? Least Favorite enemy to fight? Why? Is there an enemy she wish were friend and not foe? Is she cautious and strategical or wild abd impulsive wheb it comes to battle? I ran out of room but I'll send more if you want more :)
SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO GET TO THIS, I COULDN'T VIEW THE WHOLE THING ON MOBILE :')1. She can't really choose between yellow, blue, and green. Funky as they're all related.2. It really depends. Overall, she does prefer Cayde over them, but she likes different things about them all. Ikora is much more relaxing to be around, and is a close second. Zavala is a bit,,, tight and even if she's similar she doesn't like him nearly as much. Still respects him (mostly).3. Favorite NPC is Banshee-44. They're both more of listeners than talkers, so she enjoys hanging around him. They can sit in comfortable silence, yet still have meaningful conversations here and there. (Also lowkey Hawthorne because she's sweet and caring and also she likes Hawthorne's butt.)4. Favorite location is her little hut just outside the city. It was abandoned some time ago, so she just made it her own little home! Besides this, she enjoys the scenery of Nessus, but also likes the weather on Titan, and the vibe of Io. She doesn't like to stay in one place for too long, so I guess her hut is her only real favorite...?5. Ohoghogho,,,, woman spends her free time in the Crucible. She's got a good reputation around there and with Shaxx.6. Her best friend is honestly just her ghost, Epsilon. Close second for canon character is Cayde, Ikora, and Banshee. OCs is def Cricket ( @the-spi-der ). 7. Favorite enemy to fight are the Vex, especially the harpies. She likes the way they look, but really likes the way they blow up. Also, she just hates them so taking down their population, even if it's little by little, is something she always looks forward to.8. She doesn't like the Hive as much, especially the thralls and cursed thralls. She likes bugs but not like them. She hates getting their blood all over her, and the gooey stuff when she steps on those worms. Eugh.9. She wish more fallen captains weren't foe. Mostly because they look like they'd be good to have on her side, but also because she lowkey thinks they're hot but she won't admit that lmfao.10. Ok this is going to sound weird but yanno Agent Gideon from Criminal Minds? How he seems insane sometimes but he's the best at what he does? That's Lucia. She's silent and is a lone wolf, so there's no one really to explain herself to but to guardians watching: she seems wild yet in a strategical sense?? I don't know if that makes sense but like... unpredictable to others, but formally planned to herself?????

Sweeter Than Fiction Chapter 11: Happy Birthday
Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter have decided fifth year is going to be their year; the year everything works out for them, and if that means Scorpius keeping his huge crush on his best friend a secret, then that’s just what he’s going to have to do.
It’s just a crush. He can get over it well before fifth year is over, can’t he?
Chapter 11/27
Updates every Monday and Friday
Read on AO3 or FF
“Scor. Scorpius!”
Scorpius blinked sleepily into the darkness, feeling entirely unhappy with the amount of sleep he’d had and wondering why on earth he was being woken at such a ridiculous hour.
Albus’ grinning face loomed down over him. “Happy birthday.”
Scorpius groaned and stuffed his face into his pillow, then immediately removed it and eyed his best friend. “It’s just gone midnight, hasn’t it.”
“Yep,” said Albus, inviting himself to sit on top of Scorpius’ bedspread and pulling the curtains closed behind him. He was wearing a well-loved Holyhead Harpies t-shirt and pyjama bottoms with socks on his feet even though he looked wide awake, as though he hadn’t been to bed yet. Scorpius knew just-woken-up Albus well and his eyes were far too bright right now.
As he fully woke up, Scorpius started to appreciate the scene before him: Albus in his bed. Well, not in his bed but on top of it. They sat on top of each other’s beds all the time, but that was always when they were fully clothed. At that moment, Scorpius was in just a t-shirt and very aware of it. He was very glad his duvet hadn’t slipped down in his sleep and exposed him, turning Albus’ birthday surprise into a hideous embarrassment.
“You’re officially sixteen. How’s it feel?” Albus crossed his legs beneath him and Scorpius stared up at him, unable to concentrate on anything other than the fact that there was only a thin layer of fabric between Albus and his naked lower half.
“About the same as fifteen,” he said in an even, measured voice.
“Anyway, I have your present. It can’t wait ‘til morning.” Albus scrambled to get off the bed and Scorpius realised he was expecting him to leap up and follow instantly.
“Um, Al,” he felt himself turn Gryffindor-red. “I’m not… wearing anything… under-”
“Oh!” Albus gasped and leapt from the bed like it was infested with doxies. “Um, sorry, I’ll just… wait out here.”
He was gone in a whirl of hangings and Scorpius breathed out silently. He scrabbled around in his bed until he found his own pyjama bottoms crumpled at the foot of the bed where he’d kicked them off. When he’d pulled them back on, he steeled himself to open his hangings and pretend he hadn’t just been half nude within inches of his best friend.
Albus was waiting patiently from his own bed and he threw something soft in Scorpius’ direction, which he caught in both hands. It was dove-grey and fluffy between his fingers; a knitted jumper.
“You’ll want that, it’s cold.” Albus had pulled on a jumper of his own (navy blue with a small, white A in the top corner) and was stood smiling excitedly. He had a backpack on his back.
“Cold? Albus, are we leaving the dorm?”
Albus simply nodded. “Trust me.”
Scorpius tried not to think about what had happened the last time he’d trusted Albus with a rule-breaking scheme as he dubiously followed him down to the common room. The grey jumper belonged to Albus, who was shorter than Scorpius but with broader shoulders, and it hung cosily around his thin frame, exposing an inch of the bottom of his t-shirt.
Once in the common room, Albus swung the backpack around and pulled something out of it. He surreptitiously looked around him, even though nobody was ever around after midnight (except during exam season). “Come closer.”
He shuffled closer, recognising as he did what Albus was holding in his hands. “No way!”
Albus unrolled it and swung it around his shoulders, looking smug as his entire body disappeared before his eyes. “Yep. Legitimately borrowed with permission this time.”
“James lent it to you?” Scorpius asked, as Albus took the cloak off and checked the contents of his backpack. “I thought he was more protective of it after you stole it?”
“He is. Apparently Lil’s been trying to get him to let her use it for weeks.”
“But he said yes to you?”
“Told him he owed me for breaking my ankle.” Albus shrugged with a grin and gestured for Scorpius to come under the cloak with him. They’d both grown a lot since fourth year and it was a bit more of a squeeze; it was all Scorpius could do not to wrap his arm around Albus’ shoulders to stop it uncomfortably bumping into his side.
“Where are we going?” Scorpius hissed as they exited the common room.
“You’ll see, happy birthday,” Albus repeated, reaching into his pocket and removing the portable silencing charm, which hovered in the air between them and glowed faintly.
They trudged through the castle, Albus taking the lead at each corner. Scorpius couldn’t help but think about how close their hands were to each other, since Albus had swapped the hand he was holding the cloak with. Once or twice, their fingertips brushed together, making Scorpius’ heart speed up. Albus kept looking up at him and grinning wickedly in a way which was driving Scorpius mad with longing.
“The astronomy tower?” Scorpius questioned as they climbed the staircase and their destination became clear.
“Happy birthday!”
They stepped out onto the platform at the top of the tower, where the usual telescope stands were lined up ready for classes. Moonlight bathed the stony surface in a glowing light but everything looked ordinary.
Albus pulled the cloak away and bundled it back into his backpack. He pointed his wand at the silencing charm, whispering a banishing charm, and it whizzed to hover at the top of the staircase instead. Reaching into his backpack again, he emerged with his music box and placed it on the ground, tapping it once with his wand so music started playing. Another backpack endeavour brought two small objects which Albus placed on the ground in front of them.
“Engorgio,” he whispered, pointing his wand at them and looking triumphant as they grew once more to full size, comfortable-looking squashy cushions.
If Scorpius didn’t know any better, he would say this whole scene had the makings of something rather more romantic than a boy wishing his best friend happy birthday, but he squashed these thoughts to the back of his mind. He only had one real friend, how would he know? Besides, Albus had almost definitely kissed Thea so he probably had a crush on her anyway.
“Happy birthday!” He sank into one of the cushions and Scorpius did the same.
“You’ve said that four times now, you know.”
“Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday.” Albus smirked.
“Why all this?” Scorpius smiled as Albus once again reached into his backpack and came back with two bottles of butterbeer and several bags of sweets.
“You’re my best friend, it’s your birthday, I don’t tell you enough that I appreciate you sticking around.”
“Albus…” Scorpius went to protest this statement but Albus silenced him with a look, reaching into his backpack again.
He handed Scorpius a wrapped present which seemed to take up the last of the space in his now floppy and empty backpack. The wrapping paper was patterned with the Appleby Arrows logo on a pale blue background and the present itself was box-shaped, but long and narrow.
“Can I guess what it is?” Scorpius said eagerly, turning it over in his hands.
“It’s what you think it is, but look.”
Scorpius unwrapped it carefully, folding the paper neatly and placing it down while Albus drummed his fingers impatiently beside him. Inside was a smart, black box edged with gold and writing stating Sinistra and Babcock in gilt lettering across the top. He gently eased the lid off and opened it to reveal a glossy, emerald green telescope.
“Albus, it’s beautiful.” He turned it over in his hands, noticing the intricately engraved patterns winding their way over the outside.
“I picked it completely on my own, nobody helped me.” He was looking adorably pleased with himself. “Test it out!”
Scorpius didn’t need telling twice, and extended the scope carefully, holding it up to his eye and twisting the dial on the side to focus it. The small circle of sky in his eyesight was empty, but a small, golden arrow appeared on one side, pointing over to the left. Instinctively, Scorpius moved the telescope in the direction of the arrow and a star came into view. Lettering in the same gold as the arrow appeared, reading epsilon pegasi and indicating the star.
“That’s so cool!” He pulled the telescope from his eye and looked at Albus in delight. “Amazing.”
“You’re not allowed it in your Astronomy OWL though, I’m afraid.”
“Thankyou, Albus. I really do love it quite a bit.” He put the telescope back up to his eye and just stared and stared at the starry sky.
“Happy birthday,” his best friend said again, this time in a soft whisper.
After Hogsmeade and his birthday, Scorpius barely thought about his nightmares or panic attacks for the whole last week of October. He felt like just being reassured by someone like Victoire that what he was feeling was perfectly normal had done something to help him relax more. But Halloween was coming up and Scorpius was concerned the significance of the day would bring up his anxiety again.
Halloween fell on a Sunday this year, so he didn’t even have any classes to distract himself. He slept in as late as he could, getting breakfast at the last possible second and collecting some toast for Albus too (he never woke up in time for breakfast on a Sunday). They munched together companionably in the common room, then spent an enjoyable few hours practising the diminuendo and engorgio charms on each other’s possessions in the dorm.
Scorpius was a little enthusiastic at one point and shrunk Albus’ toothbrush down so small it took both of them crawling around on all fours to find it again and put it back to normal. By the time they found it, Albus was checking his watch and starting to look worried. “I should get going soon.”
Scorpius mentally smacked himself. He had completely forgotten that Albus was spending the afternoon with his dad.
“Are you coming to the Halloween feast later?” He sat down on the end of his bed.
Albus smiled and nodded, joining Scorpius on the narrow edge of his bed. “I’ll be back in time. I told Dad I couldn’t just leave you all day, not today.”
Not for the first time, Scorpius was amazed at how Albus just seemed to know him so well. A selfish and immature part of his brain wanted to insist Albus didn’t go and stayed there with him instead.
“Don’t worry about me, have fun with your dad.”
Albus sighed. “There’s a reason he’s coming on Halloween. We both know what it is. I suggested you come too but he wants it to be a father-son thing, you know?”
“I understand. Go, have fun, fulfill all your father-son-ness.”
“I’ll only be a couple of hours. That’s about how long it takes for Dad to become unbearably soppy with me these days.” He sat up a little straighter. “Al, I’m so pleased we can talk like this now. I really feel like you’re growing up and I’m proud of the person you’re becoming.”
Albus might have described words like that as unbearably soppy, but Scorpius knew he was using humour to hide how pleased he really was. He also knew that those words would mean the world to him coming from his own father. When Draco told Scorpius he was proud of him, he felt like Bathilda Bagshot had published another book from the grave.
“You say soppy, I say sweet,” he summarised his feelings.
Albus just pushed himself up from the bed and went to retrieve his cloak. “I’ll be back by four, promise. Back for the feast, and back in here tonight.”
He’d taken a pause, hovering around the end of his bed, as if he wanted to say something else and didn’t know how to.
“I’ll be in here, I’m sleeping here, and I don’t use my silencing charm anymore.”
Scorpius understood what he was trying to say; he was having the same worry that Scorpius was that tonight could be another nightmare night. “Thanks, Al.”
With Albus gone, it was harder to distract himself from unwanted thoughts of the Halloween before and the events which led up to it. He went to the library and tried to read, but the words wriggled around the page and refused to make any sense to his brain. His limbs felt awkward and almost achy in the library chair he’d chosen and he found himself staring longingly out of the window into the grounds below, even though it was cold. The library was busy, with practice NEWTs coming up that week, and Scorpius found he could no longer sit still and read like he’d thought he wanted to. He wanted to be outside and to move his body like never before.
Remembering what Albus often said about his new running habit clearing his head, Scorpius headed back to the dorm to bundle up for the weather and collect his music box and earphones. He paused as he considered borrowing Albus’ trainers and realised it would be rather ambitious expecting himself to run, and his own ordinary shoes would do just fine for a solitary walk around the grounds. (Besides, Albus’ feet were at least two sizes smaller than his.)
It was a crisp, cool day and a November chill was just starting to creep in, enough that Scorpius needed to bundle his Slytherin scarf up tightly around his chin. He wrapped his arms around himself and cast a passable warming charm over his coat. It meant he could complete a whole lap of the lake (which took six songs) without suffering from the cold.
As he walked, Scorpius thought over his feelings of apprehension over going to sleep that night. It was no different to any other night, really, just because it happened to be a year since everything had come to a head. The things he dreamt about usually weren’t even the things which had happened on Halloween.
The concept of time and when things happened in relation to each other almost didn’t mean anything to Scorpius anymore after their adventure with the time turner. His mum’s birthday, in late June, was a day he expected to feel especially sad about missing her. Instead, he’d found the day brought with it a sense of numbness, almost like the universe was expecting him to be sad that day so it didn’t even matter if he was or wasn’t.
Was that how it could work today? There was an expectation that today would bring up his anxiety so why did it matter what he dreamt about that night?
For completely Malfoy the Platonic reasons, he was very glad Albus had recognised he was worried. It occurred to him that it was probably because Albus himself was worried too; Halloween last year had hardly been an easy day for him either.
He was pulled from his reverie by a startled shriek which cut into his soft music. He pulled his earphones out and heard several twigs snapping and the loud cry of what sounded like a horse. Seconds later, a pure white creature appeared from behind a tree and Scorpius goggled at it.
It was a unicorn. An actual, real, right-there-in-front-of-him unicorn, wild from the Forbidden Forest. This was no Care of Magical Creatures lesson.
Was he supposed to bow? No, that was hippogriffs. Fully grown unicorns prefer witches, he remembered, which put him at a slight disadvantage.
“Come back here,” a voice hissed and the unicorn turned to survey whoever it was disdainfully. “Please, I need you. Come with me.”
In the moment the unicorn was still and staring mournfully at the person behind the tree, it disappeared from view as a pair of hands threw something over it. An invisibility cloak.
No sooner had the speaker popped out from behind the large tree, they recognised who the other was.
“Lily?”
“Scorpius?”
“What are you… why do you have… was that a unicorn?” Scorpius spluttered and Lily froze and smiled politely, as if Scorpius was just mistaken.
“What, that thing? Hmm, maybe. Haven’t really examined it closely enough yet to know for sure. Just happened across it really.” The space behind Lily moved and the cloak slipped off. Lily swore and scrambled to cover it back up again while Scorpius stared at the creature. She tugged on what Scorpius now saw was a short rope tied round the unicorn in an attempt to conceal it from view again.
“You’ve tied it up.”
Lily looked at the rope in her hands as if seeing it for the first time and stuffed it out of sight, but she said nothing.
“You’ve hidden it under James’ invisibility cloak.” Scorpius persisted.
“Okay, Scorpius, you caught me. Put me in detention, prefect. I’ve wanted a pet unicorn since I was a little girl and now I finally have one and I’m going to look after it and feed it and brush its tail and polish its horn and-“
Scorpius got the distinct impression he was being lied to.
“I’m going to leave, and I’m just going to let you get on with whatever it is you’re doing. I didn’t even see you today.” He backed away slowly and fearfully. Lily grinned sheepishly and tried to usher the unicorn in the opposite direction.
Twice now, Scorpius had come across Lily at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. He hadn’t thought much of it last time; her explanation that she was doing a pre-match yoga ritual was so Lily he’d believed every word. But the unicorn? That was definitely shady and he wasn’t sure if he should tell Albus.
“Hi, Scorpius!” A bright and unfamiliar voice carried clearly over the corner of the lake to him and he recognised the speaker as Poppy Longbottom, Lily’s best friend.
“Er, hi.”
“I’m just enjoying the view.” She grinned enthusiastically and pointed to the lake, tugging a strand of her blonde hair out from under the strap of her backpack.
“Great, enjoy.” He made to leave but she kept talking.
“Yes, isn’t Hogwarts beautiful at this time of year? Are you staying for the Christmas holidays? I am. Mum and my brother come here for the holidays and we stay with Dad. Hogwarts Christmas dinner is so good!”
She said all this very quickly and in a loud, false-sounding voice.
“That’s… interesting. Er, no, I’m going home for Christmas.”
His warming charm was wearing off and the cold air was beginning to bite at his cheeks, which had probably already turned pink in the weather; one of the disadvantages of being so pale.
“You’re not going to give me a detention are you? I didn’t even know prefects patrolled out here.” Poppy asked worriedly.
Scorpius frowned. “I’m not on patrol. Why would I give you a detention? You’re not doing anything wrong.”
Her shoulders relaxed and she breathed a sigh of relief. “Just checking. Dad’ll take my broomstick away if I get any more detentions between now and Christmas. I’ve only had twelve! That’s not even that bad…” She folded her arms exasperatedly. “And only three of them were really my fault.”
Scorpius sniggered and wondered what Professor Longbottom made of his rebellious daughter if he was threatening to take her broomstick away.
He left her grumbling about how unfair it was that Professor Vector didn’t understand her need to talk out loud to process what she was learning and headed back towards the castle entrance. The walk had done him good and he could almost see the appeal in Albus’ runs around the grounds. Almost.
The steps leading up to the door were covered in damp footprints from the wet grass below. As Scorpius began to climb up them, he heard someone calling his name from behind. Not just someone. Albus.
He turned around, pleased to see his best friend hurrying towards him, his cloak flapping behind him. A few paces back, Scorpius could see his dad too and he smiled politely. Even though he was fairly sure Harry Potter didn’t dislike him or consider him a dark cloud anymore, he was still more cautious than he was around Albus’ mum.
“What are you doing out here?” Albus asked breathlessly when he reached Scorpius. He noticed his best friend’s eyes were red-rimmed.
“Just been for a walk. Hello, Mr Potter.”
“Hi, Scorpius.” Harry came to a stop and clapped a hand on Albus’ shoulder. Now he was close enough, Scorpius could see that Harry’s eyes were red, too. “I’m just here popping in to see Neville and Minerva while I drop Albus off. How’s your year going?”
They pushed open the doors to the castle and Scorpius chatted about being a prefect and talked vaguely about OWL prep. Harry seemed genuinely interested, but Scorpius couldn’t help but notice Albus was quieter than usual. When they parted ways at the entrance to the dungeons, there was a moment of silence before they both broke it simultaneously.
“Are you alright?”
“Sorry about that.”
Scorpius was flustered. “Sorry for what? You don’t need to be sorry.”
“Sorry for my dad grilling you with questions. I know he can be a bit much.”
“No, no, it’s no problem. You know I can talk for England. I’m just pleased he seems to like me now.”
They reached the common room and Albus shook his head. “Of course he likes you. He asked about you before he even asked how I was doing on the Quidditch team.”
Scorpius smiled at this knowledge and then remembered what he needed to ask Albus.
“Are you alright? How was it?”
Albus paused and played nervously with the back of his hair. “It was… actually really nice. We talked about, you know, last year and some other stuff, and it was a bit emotional. But it was good, I liked it.”
“I’m glad you had a good time.”
“We’re about to have an even better time eating our body weight in sweets though.” They exchanged a grin and headed back to the common room to change for the Halloween Feast.
Scorpius needn’t have worried about having a nightmare, because the amount of sugar he’d consumed meant his dreams that night were more bizarre than terrifying.
It started with Professor Flitwick handing him a large rabbit at the end of Charms which Scorpius was required to carry with him when he went outside. After several shaky laps of the lake, which felt effortless, the rabbit had finally grown a full size unicorn’s horn which meant Scorpius could release it into the forest. He did so to several rounds of applause from a watching crowd of the Gryffindor Quidditch team and also his grandmother, who was wearing a peacock feather boa.
Just as Grandma was offering Scorpius a deck of Exploding Snap cards, he felt himself wake up abruptly. He stared around the dark space above him, trying to identify what had pulled him from sleep. He wasn’t too hot or too cold, he didn’t need to use the bathroom, he hadn’t been having an unpleasant dream. It was like his body had just decided he needed to be awake.
He’d once read that awaking like this meant somebody somewhere was thinking about you and their energy woke you up. Scorpius wasn’t sure how much he believed this theory; who would be thinking about him in the early hours of the morning? Dad would be asleep surely. It must be a coincidence.
As he settled onto his side, the familiar sounds of the dorm echoed around him. He could hear Higgs snoring lightly and the ticking of the overly-loud clock Cole kept on his bedside table. To his left - Albus’ side - he heard heavy breathing and suddenly a deep sniff. Scorpius blinked twice and listened for it again, remaining completely still.
He heard it again: another sniff followed by some snuffling noises. It wasn’t a sound he was used to hearing from Albus but it certainly wasn’t one he could let his best friend make by himself.
Scorpius eased himself out of bed and crept very carefully to Albus’ bedside, ready to apologise at any second, hoping he’d got it wrong. But the sound was unmistakable this close, and he gingerly pulled back the hangings of Albus’ bed to find his best friend curled up at the head of the bed, hugging his knees into his chest and softly crying into his folded arms.
He looked up at Scorpius’ intrusion and sighed, unfolding his arms only to then fold them the other way instead.
“Nightmare?” Scorpius whispered gently and Albus nodded, not making eye contact.
“Sorry,” he said tearfully, sniffing loudly and wiping his cheeks with the back of his hand. Scorpius shook his head and lowered himself down so he was sitting beside Albus on the bed. “There was me worrying about you and then I go and have one tonight.”
“Don’t apologise, you can’t help it.” He paused for a second and Albus watched him silently. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Albus shook his head firmly. “No. I want to forget it.”
It had been many months since Albus had had a nightmare at school; Scorpius thought back to fourth year when it was much more common and what had helped his best friend back then. He didn’t like to be coddled, he preferred to be distracted.
“Alright, Twenty Questions or Snog, Marry, Hex?”
Albus looked at him incredulously through tears. “Snog, Marry, Hex? When have we ever played that before?”
“We haven’t, now would be the first time.”
Albus rolled his eyes and reached for his wand, summoning the portable silencing charm and activating it inside his bed. “Okay, I’ll start. Moaning Myrtle, Rita Skeeter and Professor McGonagall.”
“On second thoughts, let’s play Twenty Questions. I’ll start.” Scorpius smiled at Albus’ triumphant smirk and crossed his legs on top of the bed. Albus threw him a spare blanket which he tossed around his shoulders and they stayed in Albus’ bed, laughing together for the next hour until Albus passed out asleep and Scorpius crept back to his own bed.

Epsilon Eridani II
askbranwen:
Whipping atmospheric winds buffeted Branwen and the Dark Furies as they assumed a descent posture that allowed for maximum speed, pointing themselves headfirst towards the ravine and their destination. Branwen feathered the maneuvering thrusters on her Jump Pack to compensate for crosswinds, careful to not trigger a full burn and give the squad’s position away too early. A few hundred meters distant and above, her Storm Eagle, Queen of the Harpies, banked sharply, seeming to flip up on a wingtip as it altered course and dove towards the compound to line up for an attack run.
The view of the surface from this altitude was breathtaking, and Branwen took the time to take it in during the descent. There wasn’t much else to do until she had boots on the ground in any case. Mountains stretched from one horizon to another to Branwen’s fore, their jagged foothills composing the immediate area. To some distance behind her was a scrubby forest of gnarled hardy looking trees, and beyond that still was a forking river, splitting into innumerable creeks and tributaries. Certain rock formations reminded Branwen of the aftermath of intense orbital bombardment, albeit an ancient one. She recalled old legends that one of the earliest Terran colonies had been on Epsilon Eridani II, but that it had fallen to Xenos invasion.
“Kestrel 1-1 on approach.” The Shadow Captain’s vox crackled, stirring her back into reality. The HUD of her Infravisor highlighted the Storm Eagle, skimming the ground as it hurtled towards the Alpha Legion compound from the Northeast. “Identified three emplaced weapons batteries - Icarus Cannons. Permission to engage?”
A chime and second icon lit up, showing that the Kestrel 1-2 was making it’s run from the Southwest.
“Take down those lascannons, then put a volley of Eclipses into the compound.” Branwen ordered, making a few more adjustments to her descent. The ground had grown far closer now, details of the Alpha Legion outpost clearly visible to her. “Weapons free.”
At her word, the Gunships’ lascannons opened up, bright beams of energy illuminating the night as they connected the Storm Eagles to the multibarelled anti-air emplacements. An instant later, the Icarus Cannons exploded. The Darkwings’ dorsal missile pods spat smoke as whistling Eclipse Missiles armed and launched, darting to the middle of the compound before detonating in a storm of concussion, oily smoke and electromagnetic interference.
All across the outpost, the lighting flickered and died.
She had been relatively successful in calming the delegates, until the screaming started. They whimpered and cried, sure they were not long for this world. Arturia kept quiet and watched their captors. Two Alpha Legionaires, their impassive stares feeling like they were penetrating the illusion of her hidden equipment.
Another Space Marine entered, his green armor discolored by the spatter of blood. In one hand he dragged one of the Solar Auxilla officers, who couldn’t keep his feet beneath him. He tossed him towards the delegates, who shrank away from him. The officer groaned but didn’t try to get up.
The Space marine’s lenses focused on her and she couldn’t help but let out a sigh. There would be no hiding it now. He strode forward and caught her by the arm. Her appearance didn’t match what he felt, and she could more feel his surprise than see it.
The series of explosions rocked the base, causing the mortals to scream and cry. Her eyes remained locked on the Space Marine even as the overhead lumen strips went out. A quick jab into the soft part of his elbow loosened his grip on her and she pulled free. He pulled his bolter; a flash and a deafening crack sent shards of rockcrete on the opposite wall in every direction.

Battle Meme: 14. My muse is captured. How do they react? (@askthecustodes)
Epsilon Eridani System, Segmentum Solar - 013.M31
The Solar War had been underway for three years now.
Even though the Alpha Legion’s initial assault on Pluto had been driven back, raids and probing attacks against the outer planets and outposts had been a regular occurrence. Sigismund’s outer defense perimeter was never quiet.
One such attack had been against a vital mission of Terran dignitaries to the Helium-3 refineries of Neptune. A small strike force of XX Legion Astartes had managed to infiltrate and board the destroyer responsible for their transport. While the diplomats were guarded by some of the most elite units of the Solar Auxilia, they had little hope against the traitorous Space Marines. The Alpha Legion swiftly seized control of the vessel, translating out-system with their quarry to the nearby Epsilon Eridani star system.
It was here that the Raven Guard of Shadow Force Branwen were waiting.
Their arrival at Epsilon Eridani had been coincidental - a quick course correction in what they thought was a little-traveled system on final leg of their mission to Sol. However, fate would have them discover their hated foes.
Shadow Captain Branwen was not one to let the Alpha Legion pass unscathed.
As the Strike Cruisers Great Vengeance and Furious Anger moved to ambush the captured destroyer, three Darkwing-pattern Storm Eagles rode wakes of fire through the atmosphere of the second planet in the system.
“Long-range scans have something, Captain.” The pilot’s voice crackled quietly through the dropship’s vox. “Traces of a shuttle landing just past the terminator. Some sort of compound hidden in a cliffside.”
“Have they detected us?” Branwen asked, looking up from the tactical display to the five Dark Furies assembled in the dim red light of the troop bay. The winged bulk of their jump packs made the space cramped.
“Negative, Captain. Shroud-fields are holding, we’re getting no alerts.”
The vox chimed again - tightbeam communication from one of the other Storm Eagles.
“Captain.” The measured tone belonged to Raana, one of the force’s Veterans. “I’ve enhanced Infrasonic overlays of the landed shuttle. Heat signatures match Maximus Power Armor. I’d say about forty around the compound - They’ve also got about twenty unaugmented - clustered together, under guard... Prisoners, maybe?”
Branwen nodded, now set on a course of action. “We hit the compound hard and fast. Kestrel 1-1 and 1-2, go nap-of-the earth and converge on either side to drop your squads off. I’ll take the Harpy overhead.”
The sergeant of the Dark Fury Squad tilted his beaked helmet. “HALO drop?”
The Shadow Captain nodded, grinning as she secured an Osomatic Gill to her face. “Right into the middle of these Hydra bastards.”
“Two minutes, Captain.” The Pilot called as the Storm Eagle surged with acceleration. Branwen and the Dark Furies clustered about the rear ramp, checking and re-checking flight packs and weapons systems.
“One minute!”
Branwen had no idea who these prisoners of the Alpha Legion were, but knew that any opportunity to hurt the Traitors was worth taking - especially this close to Terra.
“From unknown quarters we strike.” She intoned, nodding to the Dark Furies. As one, they clashed their Raven Talons together, throwing sparks about in the dim light of the troop bay.
At that, the rear hatch opened and Branwen stepped through into the night air, falling towards the Alpha Legion compound.

SHORT BIOS!
Hey there! I redid my old bios cause I wasn't satisfied with most of what I wrote. Give these new ones a read!
GEN-TEC SCIENCE SQUAD:
Robin: The cyborg scientist in formerly in charge of their Beast Handling Division, now demoted to an Unconventional Testing Outpost in Boudreaux. With her experiments split between a small laboratory and a juice bar, Robin is in charge of four clone assistants, two defective Multiflora, and a Meridian security guard. She hopes to return to her former department along with the rest of her team. Except Amber.
Epsilon: One of Robin’s first assistants, Epsilon is a tropical screech owl harpy. She runs the Aqua de Vita juice bar alongside her partner, Delta. She greets every customer with a smile, and always gets them to take part of whatever special event is happening in the bar. Alpha and Beta are absolutely enamored with her.
Delta: Robin’s other original assistant, A maine coon catgirl, with a penchant for roughhousing. She takes charge of the main setup for the special public testing events Robin instructs them to perform, as well as bartering for juice from Amber. She really likes hunting, and cowboys
Beta: An albino bunny girl, Beta was assigned to Robin’s lab after the scientist’s reassignment. There’s always a smile on her face, and she tries her best to help Robin and the others however she can. She spends a lot of time with Alpha, and the two have become very close, though this often makes them the target of one of Delta’s hunts.
Alpha: Alpha is the latest of Robin’s assistants, a naga/lamia with a disproportionately long tail compared to her smaller human half. She’s chipper and eager to please, but her naivete and impish nature have gotten her into trouble on many occasions. She was sent to Robin’s new lab from the same department as Amber and Ginger after the three of them pulled a prank on their creator.
Amber: Amber is a nectar Multiflora, a variation of the species with the ability to produce a nutritious juice from the many fruits she grows on her body. While her nectar is delicious (and slightly addictive), she refuses to give it out without compensation, which evolved into a habit of hoarding. She always gets peoples’ names and turns of phrase wrong, no matter how many times they correct her.
Ginger: A carnivorous multiflora, Ginger can grow any fruit on her body after consuming meat. She’s threatened and tried to eat Robin’s assistants and security guard many times, but being the size of a houseplant and stuck in a pot make it hard for her to back it up.
Millie: A crossover hire from Meridian Securities, Millie is a dog girl who serves as Robin’s guard. Her soft hearted nature makes her often the subject of bullying and teasing from Delta and Amber. Robin mainly has her take care of Alpha and Beta, but she’ll also be recalled for odd jobs from Meridian now and then.
LAST OF THE CRIMSON CORSAIRS:
Lavina: Lavina is an angelic Seraph who excels at cooking, partly thanks to her abilities with fire and heat. She lives on Boudreaux’s island lighthouse along with Irin and Gaige, but travels to the mainland daily to bake at her café, Seraph Sweets. Centuries ago in the Crimson Corsairs, she served as the Guele Gourmand, finding many tasty and exotic meals in her time on the high seas.
Irin: A demonic Seraph who can induce sleep and influence dreams, Irin mainly spends her time helping Lavina in her bakery, mixing up batter, infusing treats with a spell, or serving dine-in customers. While normally curt with most people, she’s recently taken interest in a particular recurring diner, and offers to take her on a charter cruise whenever she comes in, a hobby left over from her time as the Hibiscus Helmsdemon.
Gaige: Gaige is a human witch particularly skilled in enchantments, often being hired by museums and universities to identify what an artifact or relic is imbued with. Aside from this, she also acts as a representative for Lavina or Irin, especially for dubious meetings in The Siren’s Den. She was the Inceppamento Incantatore long ago, after the Corsairs rescued her from a ritual by the Voidskull Cult.
Umbra: Formerly part of The Penumbral Terror, a cursed Celestial worshipped by the Voidskull Cult, Umbra is the essence trapped inside of Gaige after an interrupted ritual. Being severed from the Terror granted Umbra independent sentience, as well as multiplying Gaige's lifetime, but takes over Gaige's body from time to time as a consequence. She had a habit of getting them into more trouble than out of it, but now she’s just a minor nuisance.
AURELIA GAMING:
Lorelei: A silver-scaled Iridescent Shieldtail lamia with a fascination for fantasy, Lorelei runs the Enchanted Forest side of her family’s gaming store. She and Reva are close friends, and run campaigns with Alex, Amber, and occasionally Trish. She loves to fight in real-life gladiator battles, and always has her gear at the ready.
Ophelia: A black-scaled Iridescent Shieldtail lamia with a fixation on science fiction, Ophelia runs the Black Hole side of her family’s gaming store. She prefers playing paintball or laser tag with Katie and Harley instead, but since they all work together, she finds ways to have fun. She has a habit of vanishing suddenly, sometimes even mid conversation.
Reva: The golden orb weaver dridder who works in the Aurelia Gaming store. She always plays a thief to Lorelei’s gladiator, but she loves teasing her coworkers when they aren't in a campaign, especially those in the Black Hole. After an after-hours game, she's been known to frequent The Siren’s Den.
Katie: Katie is just a human trying to live her life, but often finds herself the target of misfortune. She and Alex were deeply in love, but a series of tribulations resulted in Alex losing her memories and Katie being indebted to a Celestial. Whenever she can, she tries to drown her sorrows at Aqua de Vita.
Alex: Alex is a mute dog girl who had a near death experience that struck her with amnesia. The only things she could remember were her step-sister Millie, and that she lives with the Aurelia twins. Her cheery attitude makes her a delight to her friends, but she gets uncomfortable whenever Katie pays her too much attention, an unfortunately all-too-often experience.
Harley: Often found dozing around the Aurelia Gaming store, Seraph Sweets, and Aqua de Vita, Harley is an incredibly sleepy fox girl. Whenever she's awake, or at least less tired, she's fidgety, feverish, and/or focused. Under one such spell, she teleported herself and Katie right into the Siren’s office, and almost lost her soul. Katie’s kept a wary eye on her roommate ever since, but still lets her handle snack runs.
THE SIREN’S DEN
Libra: Libra is a courier for the mysterious, enigmatic, and infamous captain known as the Siren. She keeps a bandana wrapped around her mouth, and her backpack is covered in cat stickers. The half-covered Meridian logo suggests she has a history with the company.
The Amazing Trish: A half-tiger magician who was desperate for work after losing her gig at the Azure Apex, Trish was brought into the Den as an entertainer by her girlfriend Soleil. When she plays solo, she usually does tricks with fire or cards, but she's recently been training in partner performances, expanding her repertoire to juggling, hypnotism, and escape acts. She loves tabletop gaming and visits the Aurelias whenever she has time to spare.
Soleil: A dullahan who works partly as an entertainer, enforcer, and bartender for The Siren. Soleil is in charge of the Den whenever her employer is out, which often leads to her using the club for a private romantic get-together with Trish. She isn't fond of Libra, and always makes sure there's some odd job to send her away on.
Pepper: Known as one of the fastest drivers in the city, Pepper is often hired as a getaway driver by patrons in the Den, and sometimes The Siren herself. For her day job, she works deliveries for both Pizza Port, and her sister Lavina. Her gluttonous appetite has required Lavina to bake a separate batch of treats for Pepper to eat instead of the intended delivery.
ILENA’S OASIS
Ilena: A Celestial who make plants bloom and water flow just by digging her hands into the earth. She created a grand Oasis when she landed on the planet, and was worshipped by many surrounded villages, who she'd either grace with her bounty or curse with a drought at her whims. Several centuries passed and she became largely forgotten, so she decided to travel the world and pick worshippers on her own, her most recent choice a Seraph from the Azure Apex, and a lamia from a store in Boudreaux.
Lyra: Lyra was a masseuse at the famous mountain temple-turned-resort Azure Apex, but was spirited away by Ilena to serve her instead. The angelic Seraph accepted this with an excessively fervid glee, instantly smitten with her Celestial patron and pledging to stay at her side. She regards Ophelia with great disdain, preferring herself as the only apple of Ilena’s eye, and starting a fight almost every time Ilena summons the lamia.

Compass Rose: Chapter 6
Joli hopped up and shouted victoriously as her harpy teammate flew through the finish just ahead of a black and gray feathered female, "Whoa!" Juan exclaimed as the fierce blast of wind raked the crowd. "GO GREGOR!!!" The Theta kobold howled as the contestants landed, promptly lining up as the professor approached, confirming scores with the harpy instructor by his side. "Some flyin', huh?" An older kobold flatly commented from the back of the bleachers, "Dad!" Karleen growled, an infuriated glare pointed at the inhuman man slouching next to her. "In flight speed we have the following by highest rank: Kyros of Gamma, Calantha of Epsilon, Damaris of Epsilon, Mara of Epsilon, and Gregor of Theta." Keuxa announced with his eyes locked to his clipboard. "In maneuverability: Calantha of Epsilon, Gregor of Theta, Mara of Epsilon, Damaris of Epsilon, and Kyros of Gamma." Team Gamma let out stifled sighs as the professor continued. "With combat interference: Kyros of Gamma, Calantha of Epsilon, Gregor of Theta, Mara of Epsilon, and... Damaris." The crowd followed the professor's displeased stare, bringing attention to the savagely punctuated combat dummy, despite every Academy harpy's talons being dulled. "I would like to point out that 'combat interference' is the act of merely splitting the foe's attention, allowing for the offensive combat students to whittle said foe down, non-lethally. The force of a single, well placed kick from an airborne harpy could easily crush a human's ribcage, as well as seriously injure any other race, which is precisely why harpy students aren't permitted to engage in offensive, or even defensive combat." Keuxa explained to the whole student body. "Harpies specifically evolved to hunt down humans, good ol' professor is putting their power PRETTY lightly, they can destroy humans no problem, kobolds, too. If their talons weren't filed down, they could even shred a fairy's thick skinned tendrils." Albern quietly explained, causing a few students to become uneasy. "They're still Academy students, they wouldn't-" "Damaris... she's the one who struck out against another team and got Epsilon banned from combat, right?" A handful of students nodded to the older kobold's question. "And the final ranking for this assessment is as follows: Calantha with thirteen, Kyros with eleven, Gregor with eight, Mara with seven, and Damaris with six." "Third out of five! That's awesome!" Joli quietly exclaimed as she stared up at Toran. "It is incredible, though Damaris wasn't taking any of the tests seriously." The drake pointed out, slightly killing the mood, "Kobolds are up next, how are you with-" "Aww, I'm fine!" Joli quickly cut him off as Gregor approached Theta. "That was awesome!" The kobold loudly exclaimed, causing the harpy to become bashful as he joined his team at the bottom of the bleachers, "Soo, climbing, stealth, and combat interference are your categories, right?" Gregor asked as the teams moved over to the next sector. Joli nodded as Theta entered the kobold testing facility, although combat interference wasn't her strong point, she could still hold her own in stealth and climbing. "And how do kobolds test stealth with a race?" The woman quickly glanced up at Juan, who's eyes were locked to the stealth course, "There are hidden, motion sensitive lazers scattered throughout the course; we need to be quick, but at the same time, careful." a familiar gray kobold explained to the new human. "Hello, Hariman." Toran greeted as he glanced down to the small Lambda leader, "I look forward to seeing your team's newest member in action." the solid gray kobold remarked as he smiled up to said human. "He slipped and injured his shoulder this morning, I don't think-" "Hey, hey, I can still compete. I mean, any score's better than nothing, right?" Juan interrupted, giving the drake an unconcerned smirk. "Well that's a shame, but there's always the team training courses I'm sure Toran will put you through." Hariman reassured, before turning back to Joli, "Are you ready?" the gray kobold's ears dipped slightly, a competitive glint sparking in his eyes. ●●● Joli hopped to all fours in a desperate attempt to catch up to the others, as well as build up more momentum as she neared the next dummy, slamming her small, frail body against a metal panel, and hissing to herself at the lack of an audio ding. With the force that she was hitting the dummies, she wouldn't be able to topple a human, much less a fairy, and with her slower recovery, she would just end up making herself an easy target in actual combat. The kobold had managed to hit two targets hard enough to get scored, but the other kobolds had dinged almost all twelve of them and were now racing each other to the end. Once Joli passed the end, the professor and kobold instructor approached the winded students, patiently waiting for them to all catch their breath before continuing. "In climbing, we have the following from highest score down: Hariman of Lambda, Karleen of Lambda, Ada of Gamma, Joli of Theta, and Selig of Gamma." Keuxa started listing off, "In stealth: Karleen of Lambda, Hariman of Lambda, Ada of Gamma, Selig of Gamma, and Joli of Theta. Finally, in combat interference: Selig of Gamma, Karleen of Lambda, Ada of Gamma, Hariman of Lambda, and Joli of Theta.". Joli let out a quiet exhale as she heard her low scores, glancing over at her team amongst the crowd, before looking back up to the Academy leader. "Okay... the kobold rankings are in: Karleen with thirteen, Hariman with eleven, Ada with nine, Selig with eight, and Joli with four." The professor called out, then began quietly talking with the instructor, Adalard, allowing for the kobold students to return to their teams. "You're next, big guy!" Joli announced as she hopped up to the drake, "Jarlath is a powerful and experienced contender, and while Taggart is also powerful in raw strength, he lacks technique." Toran began, staring off in consideration as he seemed to quickly start pondering on possible strategies. "Wow, you suck." Albern remarked as he leaned forward toward the Theta kobold, causing his daughter to bound up the bleachers and shove him in the chest. "DAD!!" Karleen shouted with a feral scowl, "Yeesh! What got your unitard in a knot?" the young kobold gasped at her father's remark, pointed ears dropping past her shoulders. "C'mon, Joli! Let's get out of here!" Karleen shouted, hopping down from the bleachers, and storming up to the door, which her drake teammate nervously opened for her. "H-hey, Jolly." The hulking reptile sheepishly greeted as Joli walked over, "Hey, Taggart." she gave her teammate's brother a quick smile as she left the room, causing the huge student's eyes to light up. "Karleen..." Hariman sighed as he matched pace with the Theta student, both seeming to notice a thinning waft of pungent smoke as they entered the main area of the Academy. "I can't stand him! He has to make a stupid comment about EVERYTHING!" Karleen snarled as she snuffed out the ember at the end of whatever she was smoking against a nearby wall, before quickly slipping it back into her uniform. "You know how your dad gets when you come back smelling like that." Hariman hesitantly pointed out as he neared his upset teammate, "So he can get regularly plastered, but when he smells the slightest-" "Here, let's go up and get that scent off you, we'll need to be quick if we want to still cheer Taggart on.". Karleen stared down at the floor for a few seconds, before eventually cracking a faint, warm smile, "Alright. Oh, and Joli?" she called over her shoulder as the two Lambda kobolds began walking away, "If we don't make it back in time, cheer Taggart on for me!" "Me, too!" Hariman quickly called out afterwards. Joli nodded, watching as the two entered an elevator, before her ears perked up as the door behind her opened again, fiercely followed by three distinct eruptions of wind that nearly slammed her to the ground at they passed overhead. "Well THAT was a waste of time." Joli heard a familiar, snide harpy exclaim as she landed in front of an elevator, followed closely by her two younger sisters. "HAA!! Ahiga's skippin' this thing AGAIN!?" The middle sister squawked as Calantha pushed for the elevator with her long, black talon. "I think he said he was going to be busy with his-" "Who CARES!? We finished OUR assessment, so the rest of these PITIFUL races can continue on with their little games without us!" Mara shrank back as Damaris got in her face, the ferocity making Joli uncomfortable, even with the far distance. If it weren't for Tessa, the kobold might've mistook all female harpies for sadistic savages.

Compass Rose: Chapter 5
Greg steadily made his way to the top of the two old paths behind the main high school building, deciding on the left path, which was shorter, but also more slick during winter. Knowing new students always went this route, he expected to see his new teammate before getting all the way down to the Academy. The student tugged his stiff coat shut, carefully zipping it closed, as to not catch his turtleneck shirt; the weather was getting increasingly cold with each passing day, which not only meant icy pathways, but unpleasantly frigid flights, as well. Greg perked up as he spotted two of his teammates on the path, before letting out an amused snicker as he realized that Jasmine was attempting to hoist Juan off of the ground. "What uhh-" "Juan slipped on a tiny patch of frost while going down the path, messed up his shoulder, and right before the exams, too." Jasmine quickly explained as she yanked Juan's arm upward, causing him to seize up in pain, before forcefully withdrawing his hand. "Well, which shoulder is it!?" The woman put her hands on her hips as she stared down at the hurt student, "I'll help." Greg offered as he looked up at the tall student, "Thank you." Jasmine gave him a satisfied nod, then the two got on either side of Juan, both grabbing a hand. With very little effort, they managed to hoist Juan back to his feet, and continued on their way to the Academy, getting there with no further difficulty. "What happened to him?" Terry asked as he watched the three slowly walk past, "Slippery pavement." Greg stated, looking up at the team's leader as the tall man let out a troubled sigh, resting his face on his pointer finger and thumb. "And on the day of the assessments, too." The well dressed man shook his head, before gesturing for Greg to follow him inside as Jasmine led Juan to the men's room. "How are you feeling about the harpy assessment?" Terry asked as he began to unbutton his shirt near the hall lockers, revealing his Academy uniform underneath. "Ehh, Kyros definitely has everyone else beat in raw speed, but he DID mention that he has a hard time flying in narrow spaces, so I might be able to compete in that regard." Greg was hesitant to compare his abilities to the steep amount of training that the other students had over him, but their leader liked to closely track improvement. "Excellent. I look forward to seeing us all exceed." Terry gave him a trusting nod, before fastening his compass rose on, and pacing over to the nearest elevator. "Hey, Greg." The student quickly finished placing his folded clothes into a locker, before glancing over to see the other two walking past him, "How's your shoulder?" Greg quietly asked Juan as he closed his locker. "Just a light scrape and a little bit of joint pain, nothing big." The newest member reassured, eyes focused on the opening elevator previously hidden behind fake lockers. "So... sounds like harpies are going first." Jasmine pointed out as the four watched the hefty metal doors shut, "Heh... yeah, they aren't really giving us much time to prepare." Greg felt the Glamour around him begin to weaken as they quickly descended down. He relaxed himself, taking a few steps backwards in the large, mostly dark elevator, making sure to straighten his legs and outstretch his arms to the sides as he nervously awaited the illusion's end. A vicious rush of cold erupted through Greg as his human form was ripped away, he hastily furled his large, brown wings close to his body, eagerly awaiting the frigid feeling to end. He finally felt a small amount of warmth spread from his feathered chest outward, "See you guys at the tests?" the harpy quickly hopped out of the elevator, then glanced back at the others, the human, kobold, and drake all giving a nod. "GREGOR!!!" The Theta harpy barely parted ways with his team before another sweetly feminine toned harpy voice called out to him from above, he stared up to see another harpy circling up near the Academy's distant ceiling. "Uhh... BE RIGHT UP!!!" Gregor called back, heading over to the nearest caged air vent, and unfurling his wings once he was standing over it, allowing the hardy gust of heated air to begin lifting him slightly. The harpy thrusted his powerful wings downward against the air current, and began to ascend upward, steadily breaking into a slower, rhythmic wing motion as he reached his target height. "Gregor!" A light brown, speckle feathered harpy greeted him as he approached, the two greatly slowed their speeds as they began loosely circling each other. "You ready for this test!?" Kyros of Gamma eagerly grinned, "Well, you've got everyone beat in speed, but-" "Aww, you're too modest, you have great maneuverability in the dense forest scenarios, even by common standards. You'll-" "You'll be closely competing with Mara in most of the scenarios." a third harpy stated as she entered the circle. "Oh, Tessa!" Kyros exclaimed as he stared over at the dark brown harpy, "Omicron has the afternoon and night off, so we can all watch the tests, too." she happily stated with a gentle giggle. "I overheard your conversation while getting up here, and while Calantha and Damaris have you beat in speed and raw power, the youngest of the Epsilon sisters is within your skill level." The Omicron harpy gave Gregor a determined nod as she finished. "Whoa, Whoa! I'm all for giving him some confidence, but even Mara's still a 'Black Wing'!" Kyros hastily pointed out, "Really? That whole 'Black Wing' thing again?" Tessa shook her head, leaving the Theta harpy with a questioning look. "Wait! Do you NOT know about the 'Black Wing Flock'!?" Kyros stared in shock, "Not... really. Are they-" "The flock was the last attempt to stop the Glamour from absorbing all of harpy kind. Back before our ancestors were taken in by the illusion, black feathered harpies were seen as elites, and natural alphas, the purest feathered harpies were made out to be royalty to our previously savage kind." Tessa explained. "Then did they-" "After some lower ranking harpies sided with the dragons, the 'Black Wings' all collected at a single, seaside cliff, plotting to destroy the Glamour at its most dominant point, then hunt down the humans that the other races seemed to fear." The female harpy's expression darked. "A few of my ancestors were offering their service to the Glamour when the Black Wing Flock came into view across the ocean, even with the occasional island to rest on, flying that far from the European sea cliffs was completely unheard of! The other harpies all had to rest on the dragons' backs at LEAST several times during that crazy journey!" Kyros elaborated. "W- then what happened?" Gregor stared at the other two harpies, needing more detail to the story, "The Glamour was completed, and every harpy was absorbed into it, the entirety of the 'Black Wings' fell into the churning ocean, unable to keep themselves afloat in their new forms. The dragons tried to save them, but out of the hundreds that advanced, only several dozen survived." Tessa looked down with a disapproving stare. The two male harpies looked to each other, then traced her gaze, seeing the other three Academy harpies entering the harpy training sector. "Be careful around those ones, Gregor." Kyros warned, before suddenly folding his wings inward, and diving back down. "It's really just superstition at this point; I'll be rooting for you two." Tessa gave a warm, reassuring smile, before carefully gliding down, with Gregor close behind. As the harpy entered the vast, open area, he quickly located his three teammates sitting at the foldout bleachers with the other non harpy students; Tessa flew over there, taking a seat amongst the rest of the intel team. "Students of the first exam!" Keuxa proudly called out as he approached the five harpies, the harpy instructor at his side, as well as a familiar adult kobold from a couple nights earlier. The instructor stepped forward, "Alright, we're gonna go through three different exercises, then a course combinin' all o' them at the end." she explained, sizing up every harpy student before her. "First will be speed, then maneuverability, with combat interference at the end." Kyros and Gregor nodded to each other with determined looks, turning more serious when the other three harpies let out condescending laughs. "You can beat them." Gregor reassured, "No, WE can beat them." Kyros quietly pointed out, glancing over at the blotchy black feathered student, Mara.

Compass Rose: Chapter 4
Juan watched as more students steadily filed into the briefing room, which was just an old classroom on the Academy's ground floor. The student's eyes kept drifting back to Ahiga, an almost unnaturally tall, slender student, and leader of the infamous team Epsilon. He quickly snapped his eyes away, instead deciding to peer around the mostly filled room, easily identifying Delta, the all human team, then Omicron by its two human members. He knew Lambda had left early, which just left the all inhuman team, luckily Kyros and Jarlath were somewhat identifiable, and with the other two sitting beside them, that meant Gamma was also accounted for. "Maaan! Keuxa's late AGAIN!" Jasmine loudly proclaimed, before being met with annoyed grumbles and sighs, "He's always behind his own schedule, this isn't exactly a new development." Jarlath pointed out in a disgruntled manner. "Ha! I'm just hopin' we get more than one measly mission this week, jobs are runnin' dry." Juan heard the sleazy man from Delta start to his team, "W-well, maybe we'd get more missions if we didn't argue with all the other teams, Jerry." Amy hesitantly guessed, looking down at her hands as her team's harsh silence pursued. "Who cares about all that!? 'Just send us on more solo missions' is what I say!" Jerry shouted, looming over the smaller high schooler, before the large leader tugged him back into his seat, "The recent surge in fairy activity's making solo missions almost completely inviable-" "Pfft, 'cept for Lambda!" Samuel cut off Cassidy, scowling around the room, as if physically looking for someone to blame. "G'yaah!! Sorry I'm late!" Keuxa suddenly bursted into the room, toppling over himself as he swung the door open, "'Bout time, professor!" Jasmine jokingly mocked, getting a flustered giggle out of the bewildered man as he secured his large, circular glasses to his face. "This should be a pretty quiet week, all things considered." Keuxa started as he placed a single piece of paper onto a rickety, wooden podium at the front of the room, causing the several lax teams to steadily sit at attention, except for Epsilon. "First off, the remains of the fallen dragon on the ridge, while I never wish to disturb the resting places of the Glamour's mighty creators, the recent increase of adolescent hikers DOES worry me, so Gamma and Lambda with be removing SOME of the remains, more information on that will be given to your teams later." Juan watched as the two Delta men stared over at their rival team in anger. "Next up, I'd like a particular part of the lower west valley searched for possible fairy activity, there have been numerous car crashes this month in that area, and I just like to be on the safe side. As Lambda will have their hands full, I'll be entrusting this investigation to... Epsilon." Samuel let out an aggravated huff, causing the meek girl beside him to let out a sweet giggle. "Oh! Delta- or more specifically, Cassidy... the, uh, the coffee making machine in the teacher's lounge isn't working again." The taller female of the team let out a quiet sigh, staring flatly at the nervous professor. "Are you trying to use the bigger carafe again? If the water catcher isn't connected to the machine, it isn't going to brew your drinks." Cassidy explained, causing Keuxa's expression to widen in realization. "Ooooh... my bad, my bad! Alright... finally, Theta." Terry suddenly perked up in surprise as the team was called, "There's a simple noise complaint in a quiet neighborhood not too far from here, usually Lambda handles these, but it shouldn't be too bad. You'll leave as soon as Omicron-" "Whoa, we didn't really expect to-" "You'll do fine I'm sure, Toran." Keuxa cut the tall student off. "Omicron, I'll send your team the information that needs to be distributed around, and that's all for missions this week." The professor ended, before hastily leaving the room. "That sucks!!" Samuel suddenly shouted as he pounded his fist on a table, "Another week without a mission? Poor you." One of the Epsilon sisters mocked, further riling up the already agitated man. "Calantha, just leave the guy, we have work to do." Ahiga's words were painfully drawn out, and his wide smirk gave him a condescending feel as he stared down on all of the other teams, waltzing by them as Epsilon left the room. "That guy- NO! That MONSTER!!" Jarlath let out a small chuckle, "For once, we can agree; that team's bad news." Samuel stared at the other team leader, before silently nodding, and leaving with his team, followed by Gamma, then Omicron. "So..." Jasmine started once the other teams were gone, "Guess we have a mission." Greg stated, getting out of his seat, "It's just a noise complaint, though, why would Keuxa even care?" Juan asked, clearly confused. "The professor has good intuition, if there's something out of the ordinary, he can usually tell, but we aren't ready to take on a fairy, or any sort of dangerous situation." Terry explained, shaking his head. "Oh!" Greg suddenly perked up, "We should get our compasses if we're going on a mission soon." he pointed out, gesturing toward the door. "Juan. You need to get your compass?" Terry asked, looking over his shoulder at the human, "Where is it, I'll just-" "I'll accompany you; it's in the office.". ●●● "Out of all our ways to travel, we're going by car?" Juan repeated once again, "Heh, sure harpies can carry people, but only one at a time, and it wouldn't be very pleasant for the passenger." Greg remarked, again, adjusting his cap. Since the four were driving out to a residential area, Omicron insisted that the team wear their clothes over their uniforms, the others seemed used to it, but Juan found it surprisingly uncomfortable, and he couldn't think of any good conversation topics to get his mind off it. "Okay. Wait here." Terry suddenly spoke up as he parked in front of someone's driveway, Juan looked around the dark suburbs, noticing that only a few still had their indoor lights on. "May I go over the notes?" Jasmine expectantly outstretched her hand toward the well dressed man, "Oh. Yes." he pointed down to his phone, which was laying next to his car's emergency brake. The woman in the passenger seat waited for the tall driver to shut his door, "Nice! Let's see what we got!" she suddenly announced in excitement, " Ehh, Toran always forgets to give us the mission details when he gets them." Greg quickly explained as Juan's confused expression was noticed. "A woman reported seeing a strange, catlike animal hopping her fence, a few minutes later, an elderly man called in complaining about a very noisy wild animal in the dark corner of his yard; when attempting to approach, it stood upright, and began growling, startling the man. There were two more reports of this strange creature, all reports are from this neighborhood, and most state that it was either bald on its torso, or wearing a bizarre, dull blue outfit, and something metal around its neck." Jasmine read out the email on Terry's phone. "A student?" Juan asked, peering out of the windshield, "Maybe, but not likely. All of the 007 kobolds fully understand the importance of protecting the Glamour's existence, not even team Epsilon would play around with that." Jasmine explained. "Alright, the homeowners haven't seen anything out of the ordinary, but they have heard weird noises coming from further up." Terry announced once he got back in the car, "I asked about a missing family pet." he informed the others as he slowed to a stop at another house, this time nodding to Jasmine. After waiting a few minutes while watching the woman talk to another homeowner, Jasmine eventually came back, "Haha, that was the woman who originally called in! I told her it was probably just a friend's cat, but she refused to hear it, luckily, her husband calmed her down and pointed me in the direction she said it went." she explained once seated. "If it's as loud as the witnesses are saying,-" {Witnesses?} "-then we should be able to hear when we're close." Terry stated as he drove further into the dark neighborhood, "Kobold speech can easily be mistaken for simple animal sounds, so maybe they've been trying to talk to someone?" Jasmine guessed. Juan continued to watch out the windshield for a few minutes as the well dressed student calmly drove around the neighborhood, before barely noticing the headlights reflect off of a small, metallic object as it ducked behind a tool shed. The student suddenly pushed himself out of the slow moving vehicle, dashing around the hood, and straight at the short, crouched silhouette behind the separate building, "Juan!?" Terry called out in irritation as he quickly chased after him. "You!" Juan shouted as he attempted to grab the dark reddish brown animal by its hind leg, but it easily evaded his grasp, causing the student to crash into the ground as he overextended his reach. "Clumsy... at best..." The kobold muttered in a light stupor, before casually stumbling off into the shadow of the main house, "Didn't get it, but it couldn't have gotten far!" Juan hastily reported to Terry as he approached, before attempting to run off after it. "No." The rash student's arm was suddenly caught in a firm hold by Terry, "What are you doing!? It's getting-" "HEY!!!" a woman's booming voice pierced the night air as the house's front door violently thrusted open. "What are yeh DOIN'!?!?" The large woman roared, "Oh. Sorry, we are out looking for my lost pet, but-" "Get OFF meh property, AND SHUT UUUP!!!" the woman harshly slammed her door, signaling for the two students to leave. Terry let out a drawn out sigh as the two returned to the car, "Do NOT... run off during a mission." he firmly stated, before beginning to drive again, "It was a kobold, I wasn't able to get a thorough look at it, but it was DEFINITELY a kobold." Juan glared at Terry through the rear view mirror as he stated his findings. "What did they look like?" Jasmine prodded, "Similar to one of the Lambda kobolds, but darker brown." "...Did he insult you and reek of whisky?" Juan gave the female student a confused look, but continued along. "I didn't get the chance to SMELL him, but he did insult me when I failed to grab him... Why would he smell like-" "I know who it is." Jasmine wore an amused, cocky grin, "I also know where he's going to be... we can wait for him there.". ●●● Juan stared at his compass, which Jasmine helped readjust to fit as a necklace, the four were quietly waiting in Terry's unlit car, staking out a smaller house across the street, which still had a few of its lights on. "...There..." Jasmine slowly pointed out their staggering kobold friend as he struggled to get across the front lawn, Juan quickly reached for his door, only to have it lock suddenly. "What is he doing at this place?" Terry inquired, giving the overeager student a stern side eye, "Are you familiar with Keuxa's friend, Albern?" Jasmine started, and while the well dressed student nodded, Juan exchanged a look of confusion with Greg. "Albern has a bit of an obsession with his ex wife, occasionally, when he's in the area, he gets so drunk, that he decides to go through her trash, looking for a sign that shows her mutual affection." "And he does this as a kobold? The professor hasn't stopped this?" Terry looked shocked, before a loud crash caught the team's attention. "One more thing... the wife doesn't know about the Glamour, so we should probably hurry." Jasmine stated as she opened her door, motioning for the others to follow. Terry and Greg quickly followed suit, but Juan had to first fumble around the car door for the lock, then steadily go around the vehicle to catch up to the others, who were slowly surrounding the drunken kobold as he sifted through a toppled trashcan in front of the house's garage. "Oh goody... you brought the klutz along." The groggy kobold flatly mocked as he continued to rustle through the pile of spilled trash, "Albern, right?" Jasmine started as she very carefully drew closer, "Yup... Now leave me alone.". Juan suddenly bolted forward, taking several steps before slipping on the slick, lush grass, and falling backwards, "Ha! Called it." Albern mocked as he unscrewed a metal hip flask, taking a long swig as he swished his long tail around. "Uhh, hey Juan? Ever think you'd see a fairytale creature downing whisky?" Greg jokingly asked as he helped him up, "Maybe in an R rated movie, but... no, not in a place like this." Juan admitted, staring down at the sticky, reeking mammal as he screwed the flask cap back on, and continued digging. "...Wh-..." All five of the trespassers froze as someone walked around the corner of the house, the younger high school girl's slippers lightly clapped against the pavement as she rounded the corner of the garage. As her eyes slowly opened, her face abruptly lit up in fiery anger as she saw the scene before her, "You..." she stormed forward, passing by team Theta before looming over the wasted kobold. "Heeey, sweety... you-" The girl reached down and aggressively grabbed a handful of the kobold's ear, forcefully pulling him off of the mound of spilled trash, and around a darker corner of the house, motioning with her free hand for the Academy students to follow. "H-honey, please... let me-eehh-" "You're lucky I don't call animal control to take you away!" The girl shouted, looking up at the students as they cautiously paced closer, "Take my STUPID father to Keuxa, before I give him to the men in black." she demanded, shoving him over to the others with her foot. "B-but Karleen-" "Don't call me by my Academy name!" She shot one last furious glare down at the small mammal, before storming around the corner again, and rustling with the trash. "Let's take him in." Terry strongly suggested as he looked down on the adult kobold, "Aww, don't sweat it. Keuxa'll let me off easy, always does." the creature boasted as he practically led the team back to their car.
