BLCD Review: Saezuru 7

I'm not sure what's gonna end first: the series or my fucking life.

As much as I love Saezuru, it's gone on for so long that it's starting to get old literally and figuratively. You know, I wouldn't even be mad if Yoneda Kou ended the series by killing Yashiro off in 6. 7 is still well-written to a point and the BLCD did deserve to rank second AGAIN in chil-chil 2022, but I'm not sure about the future of this series (it wasn't nominated in 2023 tho which is one of the few good things about 2023's).

I say a lot of things, but I'm still invested in vol. 7 & 8.

I don't know who I'm jealous of, BUT THAT SHOULD BE ME! This scene is in vol 8, not 7, but I wanted to include it anyway.

I do agree that Saezuru portrayal of the whole yakuza deal is the realest 'cause happy endings over there are quite rare, but this isn't a novel that comes out in one go. Doesn't help that June is ass. I've heard from several friends who've read the latest releases that it feels like it's lost its way and that just makes me sad. I'm still hopeful tho.🤧

As I've already stated, this placed second in 2022's awards. I mean, it's Saezuru. Frontier doesn't spare a penny for it lmao. All the major characters are voiced, and they managed to bring the A-listers back again. Sometimes, I forget that Saezuru is actually based on a manga whenever I listen to the BLCDs 'cause the production is just that good.

Shingaki slayed as usual. I've said this many times before, but no matter how bad or how well he does in another role, he will always be Yashiro. I just came from Tsunaida and we're in the middle of a Rei event in Nu:carnival, so I would expect myself to adjust to Yashiro, but I didn't need any of that lmao. Yashiro is truly Shingaki's magnum opus. I'm not at all surprised that he placed 3rd best seiyuu for Yashiro. Deserved.

Speaking of Nu:carnival, I will forever be obsessed with Yashiro's relationship with the other characters aside from Doumeki. Nanahara's voiced by my one true love, Okitsu, but like Yashiro, I love him for his character and not his voice. It is nice having the other veterans in here with him, too. The slut trio is complete with Daddy Complex SatoTaku, Boss Ass Chaser Okitsu, and Damel in Distress Shingaki. #BLESS I want Kamiya to end up with Nanahara.

I haven't heard Wacchan in years HAHAHAHAHA. His Doumeki is still amazing as always. My issues with the story aside, I'm really looking forward to his "break" in vol. 8. EEEEEEE

Special mention to my Ryuuzaki and Miyake Kenta who made their comebacks here too. I missed him so much! LMAO

The BLCD is pretty accurate to the... magazine at least, but June does sell the translated tanko (fortunately). Like the previous installments, reading the manga while listening to the BLCD was so smooth because it was so accurate. Now 7 does end in a cliffhanger, so I don't really advise listening to it if you still don't have 8. But if cliffhangers aren't an issue for you, then break a leg!

Hirarin tweeted that the next episode of Hirakawanchi on Feb 20 will be a Valentines special in collaboration with Hatano Wataru's Nico broadcast Hatano Watarururu! This should be fun!

I remember Hirarin telling Koniyan on Dangerous Reunion that Hatano actually said he really wanted to go on their show! Koniyan was super excited and told him to come by haha! Since the next guest for their program hasn't been decided yet, maybe Hirarin can invite him!

1. Asanii the Pink Police

As usual, we got Asanii making sure everyone wore pink and as usual, a certain someone wore a quite different shade again ww

2. Meteor Trail talk

We only got to hear the first part of the song, but Kouchan says Chikage (Wacha)’s solo part in the second half was really amazing. Wacha then says, “When I heard the demo track, I thought, you’re asking for too much.” (he’s saying that part is hard to sing) Kouchan later admitted that he was relieved that Chikage was gonna sing it and not Tsuzuru.

In a past livestream, I remember it was Asanii who complained that his solo song (I think it was Real Luck) was hard to sing. He said he remembered thinking to himself, “One really has to breathe in order to live, huh” or something along those lines...

Back to Meteor Trail, it was also funny how the other members suggested they do the moonwalk (since the song is tied to the event Moon Traveler), use trampolines while doing acrobatics (with wire) if ever they perform it live www

Wacha reveals that he really did do backflips while jumping on the trampoline when he was younger, but now that he’s 41 (what!) it would be life-threatening now w

3. SakuSakuSakuSaku

A new monthly radio program hosted by Koudai-kun will start this May, where a different guest will join him every month! His first guest is Sakuma Sakuya’s stage actor Yokota Ryuugi! Koudai-kun says Yokota-kun is so pure that it’s like he’s talking to the real Sakuya. Asanii interjects, “You should look at yourself!” (meaning Koudai-kun is also like Sakuya~)

SakuSakuSakuSaku = SAKUma SAKUya (game & anime) & SAKUma SAKUya (stage), plus saku means to bloom, so you get a mental image full of flowers in full bloom~

4. Kouchan the City Boy, Asanii’s life experiences

One of the fan mails they got asked about their experience when they moved to Tokyo. Turns out, among all the members, only Kouchan was born and raised in the city, thus they called him, “city boy” www Koudai-kun even suggested calling him City-chan~~

“So this (pointing to Kouchan’s attire) is what city boys think is pink, huh!” Masa and Asanii teased. Kouchan retorted, “Alright, alright, then please continue your discussion.” (gesturing at the four country boys) Asanii exploded, “Dammit! He’s making fun of us!!!”

Asanii told them his experience when he had no money and was living frugally; eating okonomiyaki with no other ingredients than just wheat flour base, or pasta with just daikon and soy sauce. He also told them his experience during his teens when he worked at a factory in the assembly line.

When they found out that Kouchan didn’t have to do part-time jobs, Asanii told him to “try it just once!” Kouchan seemed eager and asked Asanii to introduce him to that Lego factory (he said it, even though Asanii was careful not to say the name www). Asanii said working at 31 (Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop) would suit him. “You’ll go from 81 Produce (his talent agency) to 31 Produce!” wwww

5. Etude Corner~ (from 49:00)

Edit: Forgot to explain that this part is kind of like charade, each of them is given a prompt and ALL members have to guess it right in order to get a point! If they fail to get 3 or more points, they have to do a punishment game~~

Leader got all of his members’ etude right! Sasuga leader! Kouchan and Asanii did their prompts very well! And like the previous livestream, only one of them was given a different prompt than the others wwww

I won’t be detailed here, please watch it for yourself! A bit sad there’s no Shiraimu to add to the chaos though~~ 🌸🌸🌸

BLCD Review: BL Cinderella

Title: Cendrillon no Kuroi no Kawagatsu (サンドリヨンの黒い革靴)

Synopsis: Haibara Ayumu, a talented parliamentary secretary, has no problems executing his work perfectly. However, he can’t help but feel that there’s just something missing in his life. On the way home one night, Ayumu loses his shoe on the crowded train, and the man who picks up his shoe, Hikami, turns out to totally be his type of man. To thank him for retrieving his shoe, Ayumu asks Hikami out for some drinks. One thing leads to another and they find themselves sharing a passionate night with each other. It was only supposed to be a one-time thing, but they soon find themselves reuniting at work?!

Listen, you guys. The tension these two had the very first time they met on that train station was so thick, I could cut it with a knife. We all knew that they was ready to fuck each other, and I was just so oddly embarrassed ‘cause it made me feel like an intruder in their pre-coital thoughts. 😳 As y’all know, I’m a hoe who can’t read, so I didn’t realize that this was a reading CD until it started. If you’ve read my very first Brilliant Prin original, you’d know that I struggled with Netsuai Judge because they used so many complicated terms during the narration. Thankfully, however, Cendrillon was easier to understand and, uhh, hot. Y’all gotta hear them talk about each other, istg. The writing was so sjdkshjdsk I still get so flustered when I re-listen to it.

Hikami: “He dropped his shoe, his umbrella, and his guard... What’s next?”

Me: “His pants.”

Alas, the hype died down in like the second disk for whatever reason. So, I really wanted Ayumu to be the cool, mature power bottom queen, but he pretty much turned a little desperate for the mans. But I guess that’s just my bias for KumaKen’s Loki talking. 🤷 The action here was also... uhh... strange for a lack of a better word. For more context, Hikami is part of special? police forces assigned to bodyguard Ayumu’s boss from a stalker. I get that Ayumu’s boss was a high-profile man, but special forces for a stalker? Can’t you let regular polis to do that? Y’all know where this is going, right? We get to the climax and the stalker finally shows up and attacks Hikami with a... survival knife. I couldn’t help but laugh through it ‘cause Ayumu was so frantic thinking that he was gonna die the whole three mins of the fight.

SIS, IT’S JUST A KNIFE???

But then BLOOD! OH NO, HIKAMI GOT STABBED???!!! And Ayumu was also sobbing his eyes out at this point. I was like, “Hikami’s gonna say that it’s not his blood” and was fucking right cause the stalker was so bad with it that I guess he stabbed himself???

I mean, I probably shouldn’t judge ‘cause Japan has a gun ban, but it’s just a knife oh my god.

Well, plot aside, the voice work was great (save for KumaKen’s weird crying during the fight scene). Listening to the first disk was an experience, so I would implore y’all to check that out at least. KumaKen just be built differently, man. I think this is the highest I’ve ever heard him go. Again, I prefer his Loki smut more, but his Ayumu here was also the goddamn hoe. As for Wacchan, I’m 100% sure he got cast because of his Doumeki, so they really should’ve given the man a gun fight c’mon. HE WAS SO SEXAY THO AAAAA YOU GOTTA LISTEN TO HIM CHUCKLE WHAT THE FUCK. As this was a reading cd with 80% monologue, it felt like I was listening to an r18 otome cd esp with Wacchan monologuing like that. My confidence in handling Kawahara in my Pheromone Tantei has become 0.

Also, I gotta say that the music they used here was weird. I get that they were going for something opera and ballet-ish because Cinderella and all, but it didn’t vibe well with the plot. Not to mention, the pieces they chose were a little too La Corda lmao.

Hmm, I don’t think I have anything else that remotely comes close to Cinderella (Cinderella wa Shiranai was shit). Man, what I would give for fairytale BL (haji when???). Cinderella plots, however, are quite common. Y’all might be sick of hearing this, but if it’s a Cinderella plot you want, Kashikomarimashita: Destiny. HAHAHAHAHA
