A bit late but for the @layton-npc-appreciation-week, I wanted to talk about Beth from The Last Specter:

Mostly because I've only now realized how important she's for the plot, years after playing LS for the first time.

Spoilers for Last Specter/Spectre's Call ahead!

So Beth worked as a maid for the Barde family, but got fired shortly before Evan's death, then started working in the Triton household. Which means she's the one who can tell you the most about both families and how things changed when the Specter appeared. And she does so!

Her first and perhaps most important action was actually before the game started. If you remember what Luke says…

That's right, she's the one who let Luke know about the flute being sold at the black market! She may not be aware of it but it's thanks to her that Layton and the other get to meet the Black Ravens and learn about Barde, and ultimately

In fact, if you think about it, perhaps she could have told them even more about this flute if they had asked her, since:

She already knew Arianna was the one playing it all along.

But that's not all! She has a role that might be less important for the professor but crucial for us players.

Indeed, she's the one giving us the biggest clues about Doland being an impostor:

In game, Layton realizes and proves he's the mastermind thanks to Luke's notes, which we sadly can't see.

But if we listen to Beth and help her, she'll tell us how Doland suddenly changed after the Specter appeared: his beautiful penmanship became nearly impossible to read, he started going out who-knows-where a lot, didn't gave her clear instructions like he used to, and got mean to her.

Another character, Jasmine, notices and mentions Doland's change in character but she doesn't say much except "he ignored me and my puzzle do you want to solve it?" while Beth gives us an entire puzzle based on Descole's awful handwriting.

And it makes sense: since they work together, she's the most likely to see the cracks in his act, and since he doesn't really care about her, she didn't get kidnapped nor blackmailed.

Other notable things she can tell us include:

Mentioning the oracle and that Doland knows about it.

Another clue that there's something hidden in the cellar, and that when Emmy thought she heard voices it wasn't just her imagination. (also the poor woman started to doubt her own sanity because of Descole)

She confirmed (although was there any doubt about it?) that Barde's death and his will are very strange, even if they were confirmed by the famous police officer Third-Eyed Jakes. She doesn't say it in front of Luke but she suspects that Clark killed Barde and now his ghost is haunting the house.

Speaking of Jakes, she informs you later that Clark left with him.

If you go see her before going to save Arianna she'll tell you that both Clark and Doland left without a word. Layton knows what's going on.

Not a hint but she also has this line:

Poor Beth struggles with Fake Doland's instructions and bad temper to the point she has to repeatedly ask Layton to help, she gives him puzzles (which he likes) and then feels guilty about it. This woman deserves a break. And someone to tell her it's not her fault Doland was so rude to her.

There's a lot more to talk about: how working under a manipulator's supervision affected her self-esteem, how her role in the story was overlooked, how the game treated her character… (I could probably make a whole post about sexism, working classes and the devaluation of social work… but not today)

In a world where the Tragedy never happened, and class 79 was able to have a normal school life in Hope's Peak, Tsurugi Kinjo and Yamato Kisaragi started a friendship that eventually evolved into something romantic, and ended up with the both of them becoming parents to a young boy. Quiet and shy, he spends almost all of his time between looking at what his fathers do while working and trying to imitate them (The latter usually never going well), thanks to having grown to admire them intensely in the short amount of time he has been alive.

By the time he would come to age, he would become a great inventor, enough to be admitted into Hope's Peak, but, at the same time, friendships would become hard for him to form, thanks to inheriting somewhat Tsurugi's black-and-white way of seeing the world, making him untrustfull of anyone who isn't his dads, something that he would take time to grow out of.

After the end of the Tragedy, and with the members of class 77-B resigning themselves to live outside of civilization as penance for their crimes, some of them had kids with each other, with Ryota Mitarai and the person known just as "The Ultimate Imposter" being two of them. Really skittish and shy, she is following her fairer-headed dad's steps of becoming an animator to a T, thanks to terribly crushing feelings of loneliness and wistfulness born from the bad hand fate gave to his parents, and their class, forcing her to live in a island lost in the mind of the common passerby until she's of age, feelings that not even the kids of his parents' classmates can't alleviate, no matter how strong their friendships with her became.

Thanks to this, her biggest dream became to become famous, maybe through creating a new manga series, once she's an adult, just to feel that warmth that her family tried, but failed, to give her.

27. What causes them to feel dread?

What DOESN'T cause Klieg to feel dread? 😭 As much as he tries to act calm, confident, and self-assured, this man is a massive ball of anxiety! I'd be here all day if I started listing everything that makes him nervous.

The biggest thing continues to be his Impostor syndrome, and he just exists every day fearing that someone will see him as a fraud and undeserving of his position, which is how he sees himself.

He feels undeserving of his position but also doesn't want to lose it because of how long it took him to get to a place where others actually see him.

As well as feeling like he'll never find anyone he can share his work with who happens to be as excited about it as he is... I guess it's why I like his dynamic with Rouxls so much, even if they're very silly and are mostly a comedic duo in the AU x)

Not only he gets to share, but he's also challenged to listen, which Klieg is often too self-absorbed to do (Not out of malice, he's just very fixated on what he likes <3

F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?

I love all my OCs, I don't think I ever made any effort to hide that! And I've mentioned a few times that all of them tend to reflect facets of my personality, and they have helped me cope and better interpret my feelings by projecting them onto someone who isn't myself.

I don't know if that makes sense to anyone? Think of that one Tumblr post that said something along the lines of teaching yourself self-love by making your favourite characters go through what you're going through, and reflect on how you wouldn't punish those characters for behaving in response to how they were treated.

But tangents aside, Klieg is also like that for me, though he's more of a way for me to deal with how lonely it can feel to be so enamoured with your work but not getting the response you wish you could have.

The impostor syndrome of wondering how I've come a place where there are people who enjoy my work and how I often feel undeserving of it, or wondering how long until it will take until people realize there are better artists out there, I suppose?

Not all negative things tho, my characters bring me much joy and Klieg is no exception! He's very eccentric and I just get so much happeniness out of drawing him enjoying his work!

Even if most times it's more fun drawing him dealing with the consequences of being stuck up and mean to others >:) All in good fun tho, I like Klieg's arc in the AU a lot

Hi, mami! Hypothetical question for the cards. We know P is insecure about many things, but does he feel insecure to go for really hot men, that he thinks are hotter than him, because he’s gonna compare himself too much with them or maybe feel he can’t get them? And what about with women? Would he be insecure to go for really hot women for fear of being rejected? 🙏🏻

Hiya! That’s an interesting question. 🤔 Obviously hypothetically like you said, since we don’t know for sure who he goes for or not, but I pulled a few cards for the men and for the women, and for the men the first pull was The High Priestess, 6 of Wands and 7 of Swords reversed.

The High Priestess followed by the 6 of Wands is interesting because it makes me feel like not only he sees them way up above him, but also like HE needs to get it right, like he would have to hide things about himself, show up as someone who is wise and intuitive, but not revealing everything about himself or going for them too strong. Getting a man he sees as hotter and better than him would be the biggest ego stroke, full on glory to gloat about. However, this 7 of Swords reversed shows us he would also feel like the biggest fraud and with an impostor syndrome. He would doubt himself as if he was so scared of the guy eventually finding out what a bum he is and how he was probably deceiving him and not showing his real self.

The second pull was The Moon, 6 of Swords reversed and 3 of Swords. The Moon and 6 of Swords reversed mean his unconscious mind, his insecurities and the fear of having a clouded judgement and misunderstanding the situation, maybe even the guy misunderstanding him, all that makes him get stuck. He feels like going against the flow, fighting too hard when he knows he’s not going anywhere. 3 of Swords is the way he sees things will end up. A breakup, loss, sadness and heartbreak. So he gets scared of rejection and hurt and that discourages him.

So yeah, he would possibly struggle to go for guys he thinks are more handsome, hotter and better than him because this man is insecure as fuck, not that he should be. Lol.

Then I asked for the really hot women, and the first pull was Temperance, The Magician and 2 of Swords. Temperance means he might feel way more balanced when it comes to going for really hot women. He might be more patient and more moderated about himself and the situation and how maybe he could make it flow and things could go his way. He could believe the women would be possibly more moderated about him too, like they would consider it more. The Magician points to him thinking he could be creative in his seduction game, that he has his resources and his skills and tricks and he could work them out. However, 2 of Swords brings that insecurity back because he might become hesitant and not knowing if he should or if he should not go for it, like he’s afraid of mixed signals and if the woman would really want him or not. He could stumble a bit with the uncertainty.

The second pull was the Ace of Coins, Justice and 7 of Cups. Ace of Coins means he might think he does have the potential to score the super hot lady. He’s been feeling himself more, including physically, like he knows he’s got it so he can get her if he works for it. Justice shows that balance again, with him thinking he needs to be fair and honest and do things the right way. He might feel the women would be fairer to him aswell. 7 of Cups points to him, in this specific situation, actually fantasizing and daydreaming that he could do it. Like he considers all the possibilities and he thinks he might have a chance. His imagination goes ahead of him, but he might feel more confident about acting on it.

With all that said, I believe he could potentially struggle to go for men he considers super hot and hotter than him, but not so much with the super hot women. He will still be insecure, and he will fantasize a lot, but he might believe he has more of a chance now. But, but does he actually go for them? Maybe, maybe not, as this was more about the way he could potentially feel about the idea. 😁😁

I feel that both SS and botw/totk zelink aren't toxic but that they have very good potential for it. The potential is rife for co-dependency, impostor syndrome, obsession, strong separation anxiety, goddess-related trauma, etc. "I don't know who I am without you" type beat. Love so deep it swallows you whole. Pre-calamity also has fantastic drama potential in the need to keep secrets, etc.

YEAH THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN I UNDERSTAND YOU!! Canonly? Yeah they're not toxic at all cause I very much doubt nintendo would ever be brave enough to make Link's and Zelda’s relationship questionable in any way lmao. But like... the potential is there, there's so much of it, and the worst thing is that it's not unbelievable at all to interpret that they could very easily slip into toxic tendencies. I also agree with you I think sksw and botw/totk zelink are the two with the biggest risk of becoming toxic lmao.

I made that joke post thinking about sksw zelink cause I just could not thinking about of the sheer amount of implications about their relationship in that game. Surface level? Like just fucking, personally I think Link would be a more victim of the codependency, separation anxiety, and maybe obsession? Idk I see that as something that I think Zelda would go through actually, along with goddess-imposter syndrome, and severe trauma towards fate and all that. What's even worse is that once you start digging into sksw and botw/totk zelink's relationship there are so many things that are borderline concerming if anyone decided to expand on them. Personally I really like to imagine that botw Link actually did hold some resentment for Zelda because he was jealous over the fact that she was able to avoid her fate for so long. From what we're told in botw it's very heavily implied that the opposite happened to Link, the goddesses had chosen him when he was just a kid. Also the idea that Link had been purposely given extremely difficult and near-abusive training for years to prepare him for being Zelda’s guard and Zelda never knew <333 and he never told her <333 so he has even MORE buried resentment <333

But those are just my ideas cause my favorite zelink relationships are when they're emotionally MESSY and FASCINATING TO ME sjsidjd they don't even need to be romantic, platonic is actually totally fine for me, I just love messy bitches.

But yeah I totally agree, I think while they're not toxic in the text itself, I think they very much have the potential to be. The potential for being so intertwined with destiny that it becomes as much of a slowly corroding force as much as salvation. You love them so much, you can't imagine a world without them, you hate them, you resent them, you wonder if they actually love you or just what purpose you serve, you wonder if they love you or if they've just been broken down and told to. You panic if they're not by their side, your skin itches with the need to run away, you can't look at each other in the eye, did you ever love each other if you were never given a choice?

I think zelink has a ton of potential, BUT I think it's more toxic flavor just deserves to be explored way more cause there's no way sksw/botw/totk are HEALTHY in the SLIGHTEST

first off every YIIK character is queer and neurodivergent becuz I'm queer and neurodivergent and I said so, the specifics of that depend on my mood and what sort of au bullshit i'm coming up with at 2am in a VC with my friends tho

Alex is complicated. i hate him hes a massive douche but also I really do get what the devs were trying to with him. the occasions when he's being nice and having fun with his friends are where he shines and honestly at heart hes just some guy who needs to get a grip and get his shit together (relatable). if i knew him personally i'd probably slap him and then we'd be good, he probably specialised in sci-fi/fantasy creative writing for his libarts degree and definitely wrote an essay at somepoint about videogames as an art form. He has tattoos but they're all probably really cringe and embarassing because they were super trendy when he got them and then fell out of fashion, he has one of those barbed wire ones around his upper arm.

Michael is my FAVORITE GUY OF ALL TIME HES SO SILLY but also i've made him horribly angsty in my brain as well it's so. i think him and alex have a really good "friends who are used to each other's bullshit" dynamic but also i ship them a little bitty bit just cuz i'm a sucker for besties who are obliviously in love with each other as a trope. He would hate-watch ancient aliens and buzzfeed unsolved because he thinks he knows better than them. If you read his comments on ONISM he also seems to be a really sweet and supportive guy with the userbase and thats rlly cool hes such a guy Aside from that though he has the most unexplored depth as a character imo, since it's confirmed he isn't from the present reality and at some point definitely becomes aware of that fact I like to think underneath the funnyman bestie thing he's probably having a crisis about who he is and stuff because even before he's consciously aware of it he probably felt this vague subconscious feeling of like,,,Not Belonging ig? idk i think he probably knows this isn't where hes really meant to be and hes trying to truck through it but the impostor syndrome is definitely there. Rory is sooo mecore I stole his name online because he's so mecore we are both emo/scene kids and his canon favorite song according to some questions directed at the dev team is a brighteyes song that i also love its like fate. ANYWAY I feel really bad for Rory because i think his character is probably handled one of the worst just with the tonal whiplash a lot of his character-centric moments has. I bet he listens to weezer and radiohead. If YIIK was set now he would be into creepypasta and he would get michael into it since it ties in with his paranomal urban legend stuff, they would vlog hunting for slenderman together. him and alex run a gaming channel together (THIS IS AN INSIDE JOKE BUT I HAD TO PUT IT IN I COULDNT HELP MYSELF)

Vella is pretty and I think she's super cool, one of my besties LOVES her so I kinda let him be the friend group CEO of vella stuff but my biggest takeaways from her is that I hope she gets back into making music again, but for her own fun this time instead of to fulfill some success pressure. maybe she starts a crappy little garage band with some of the gang and they write terrible songs about aliens who smoke pot and dance the macarena and she's the only one there who can actually play but they have fun with it. She also knows all the videogame cheat codes and keeps setting high scores that alex and michael cant beat. Also her mind dungeon reminds me of yume nikki and thats super cool cuz i love yume nikki

Chondra and Claudio deserved way more time for their characters to develop and also their lore is weird and confusing and I think the whole missing brother thing is rlly weird too becuz of the reveal of how that all works with alex and shit. BUT if they had been handled bettter they probably would be my favorites because I think claudio is super fun and his VA sounds like he's really going for it and he's just such a chill guy and he's super passionate about his interests and i respect that and 100% would be his bestie chondra is super cool too, she's clearly really into sports and I bet she hangs out at the local skate park and impresses everyone cuz of her roller skates and also probably gets vella into skating too and they go together and have matching customised helmets just for the extra cool factor. alex and michael and rory come and watch them but are too pussy to try (alex has had enough from that stupid skateboard ability you get in vella's dungeon). Maybe she goes to some competitions for it and stuff too

uhhh some other various stuff the essentia is really cool but also confusing and it took ages to make sense of her lore but i LOVE her voice the effects to make it robot-y are *chefs kiss* and essentia 995 is just SO idk how to describe it the part when she says "often it is necessary to lie to oneself to get a tough job done" hits really hard for some reason. shes metal as fuck, metaphorically and literally. sammy is literally a caricature of a real life dead girl and i think that's pretty fucked up and they shouldnt have done that, but she would have been really cool if it wasn't for that big yikes. in general i really love a lot of the influences yiik has i'm a huge fan of rpgmaker horror and murakami books and a bunch of the other shit that it references so hehehehehe thats cool

Gay people from my imagination

Basically imagine if a bunch of random teens were heralded as the best of the best in the world for their specific talents and were sent to a ridiculously prestigious academy because of that, only for a vengeful one close to one of them to forge papers making her seem like one of the class, lock the school down and trap her “classmates” inside, and force them to kill each other to escape in a copycat killing game to the one that happened ten years ago (the events of the main Danganronpa series, sans the third game.)

These characters, as opposed to being from just Japan, come from every continent. The majority are still Asian, but this system actually developed because the protagonist was originally a self insert, but I felt weird making a self insert Asian since I’m Irish-American. Thus, he was a transfer from Ireland. Then when an online friend who became my co-writer asked if she could make a character for it, she made a transfer from the UK. Then I decided to make a canonical explanation for having several transfers in one class, and then the cast became mostly transfers from there.

There are seventeen of them, but I’m just gonna tell you about my favorites.

Rian ó Broin, the ultimate horror novelist, is an eccentric goth and the protagonist of the story. He has low self confidence due to the way he’s been treated for being autistic and transgender all his life, and because he’s never really been given praise but his talent in writing has, he views himself and his talent as separate entities, and thus has impostor syndrome. His perception of the world is a bit skewed thanks to his view of his talent, and one of the main themes of the story plays into his development in that regard. His sister Kira, originally planned to be over a year older but probably should only be like, a few months older, also goes to the academy, and is basically his best friend.

Kamiko Yoshioka, the ultimate academic, is far more straight-laced than Rian. She grew up in poverty, and has basically had to fight like hell to get where she is now. She sees her talent as the one good thing in her life, and she’s basically fighting to keep it so she doesn’t lose the one leg up on life she has. This ideology is why she seems so heartless and cold. That, and the fact that she resents the rest of her classmates, feeling like they haven’t worked hard enough to be where they are. She sees herself as nothing but her talent because her talent is the one good thing in her life. It’s a self-imposed spiral of pressure she holds herself in and because of that she hates how many of her classmates’ talents just come easy to them, and in particular she hates Rian, who believes he doesn’t deserve to be where he is. Conversely, Rian hates Kamiko and projects his insecurities about his talent onto her.

Alice Aldaine, the ultimate psychologist, is soft-spoken and stoic when first met, but once she warms up to someone she becomes bubbly, passionate and kind. She’s very emotionally and factually intelligent, and while she’s not great at making friends, she holds hers very close. She comes from a long line of researchers and academics, and her family has imposed a lot of pressure upon her to be perfect. For Alice, her talent is a representation of who she’s supposed to be, the pressure her family placed on her to be this great successor and do nothing but study, study, study, until she was their perfect prodigy, and she resents this idea of perfection, but feels she can’t really resist the pressure- who is she if not the ultimate psychologist?

Minori Mizuno, the ultimate detective, has a strong moral compass, even more so than classmates like Amara Kimathi. She had always felt like a victim of the world, and she began investigating criminal cases to bring the victims justice. To her, her talent is her one way of resisting the idea of victimhood. Her biggest fear is not being able to fix anything, and she fears helplessness more than death. Her talent is a desperate refusal to stop fighting. She’s not afraid to die for it. In a similar way to Kamiko, it is her life’s one good thing.

Masumi Kosuke, the ultimate artist, is ridiculously depressed! He acts wild and goofy, but he’s actually pretty mellow I’d rather immature. He’s basically been bullied his whole life partially due to being autistic and having adhd, and partially due to “looking weird” because of a skin condition. He’s learned to do whatever it takes to be liked. Despite being very artistic, he doesn’t really give his talent a lot of thought. Being passionate and emotional isn’t going to get people to like him. His talent is supposedly insignificant so he seems more likable. It’s the things he’s been bullied for and made to hate himself because of, but no matter what, those are always going to be a part of him, and he can’t really avoid that in the eyes of most, he is just the ultimate artist. He will never really fit in, no matter how hard he tries, and he’s resigned to that he may never be loved for who he is. He also has DID.

Amara Kimathi, the ultimate environmentalist, is not really a people person. She’s very grounded and very kind, but prefers being around her pet snake than any people. (Her snake’s name is Ground Beef, but he bit her hand the second she brought it home after adoption so she called him Shit Lump for a few days as punishment.) To her, her talent is a fear of the pain that will be caused if things don’t change, but her cause has been exploited as a talking point for people in high positions to make them look more environmentally conscious and thus better. Her passion and kindness is exploited and makes her into a puppet for people to show off without ever listening to her. While she’s more reserved, she knows how to demand attention due to this exact problem- her talent being a shallow label for her wanting things to be better, shown off like a toy by the people who don’t want to change to make them look good. If Amara has something to say, you will hear it. Despite that, she doesn’t like demanding attention. She’s pretty reserved, and tends to be more drawn to other introverts.

Heiran McKenzie, the ultimate makeup artist, is cold and apathetic. She hates her classmates for having their talents at all, no matter the circumstance, and she hates her own talent too. Moving up in the beauty industry has basically had her exploited by it in a similar way to Amara. People capitalizing off the self hatred of others, especially girls and young women, has left her completely jaded and hateful of it being called her talent. She just thinks it is the way of the world that people will make others suffer for their own benefit, and doesn’t really buy into the attitudes of students like Amara, who wants to make things better, or Minori, driven by a strong sense of righteousness. She’s just kind of going through the motions, and doesn’t care about a lot. Her talent, to her, is the reason she is this way. It is what has made her deal with all this. That’s something Amara empathizes with, though, so Heiran does have a bit more appreciation for Amara. By the end of the story, she’s a bit more grounded as well. She and Amara are minor characters without a lot of relevance, but they contribute to the themes of the story a lot in subtext.

Fix it idea. Both Sam and Bucky were skrulls at the end of End Game and both are being held captive somewhere. In TFATWS, Sam was totally onto that skrull, that's why he was so hostile towards Bucky, but he played along to try to figure out what was going on. The poor skrull also got all of Bucky's memories including those of being tortured. Bucky and Steve are currently trying to find a way to escape and Sam, after getting information out of the skrull, is coming up with a plan (with whatever characters you want) to save them and all other skrull captives.

I'm assuming you meant Steve and Bucky were skrulls? Because anon you've read my drafts mind! I've actually got a shitpost sitting in my drafts about post-EG!Bucky being a skrull. Mine is a happier scenario than yours — I think what I wanted was to preserve Steve’s choice in handing over the shield to Sam. My draft was Bucky shrunken to a mini size with Scott’s tech and going back in time in Steve’s pocket. They then go and fish Steve out of the ice, and past!Steve is all 🥺 Bucky??? And future!Steve goes 🖐 no this is my Bucky, we’re now going to find yours. They then go rescue past!Bucky from Hydra and screw the sacred timeline because what do you mean the sacred timeline has to have Bucky being tortured, who decides that?? They then go off to have their deserved retirement while leaving the world in their past selves’ hands. And if TVA attempts to prune this timeline there will be a Steve out there in the multiverse who will cotton on and put an end to them because they are by far the biggest bullies who have ended gazillions of lives on some weird plot mumbo jumbo. The skrulls in this scenario would be allies, much like they kinda were in Cap Marvel (dunno maybe I remembered it wrong), who take on Bucky’s role of easing Sam into the Cap mantle except he really sucks at his job, but it also allows episode 6 to make sense with Sam letting him into the family because Sam realises he’s not a terrible guy.

But what I love about your idea is that it gives Sam a big proactive role and it also allows for a very plotty story. Just a quick read of Wiki says that skrulls generally don’t get the memories of their originals? Which would actually make sense for why Bucky seemed rather unfazed by some of the crude jokes, why he didn’t know Wakanda could take his arm off, why he says some really weird stuff that doesn’t correlate with his history. The skrull will have an outsider’s understanding of Bucky and he will probably see Bucky as a perpetrator as well, hence he goes along with the amends and does stupid OOC shit like gallivanting around the world with Zemo. It also gives reason for Sam to be pushing and testing him for a reaction and getting more suspicious by the way Bucky responds.

The Skrulls could easily get to real!Bucky when he first comes back from the Blip, and once they have him it’s easier for them to capture Steve using him as hostage. The Skrulls could either have them imprisoned (although that would make for a rather boring story from Steve and Bucky’s part) or they were forced to yeet them into St Elsewhere after Steve kicks up a stink. I feel like Sam won’t let an impostor near his family though so it might mean Skrull!Bucky will have to see the error of his ways and somehow gain Sam’s trust.

I thought everybody apart from Marchant and Ludlam had a poor game!💀 Freddie was okay but his second half let him down.

I’m not sure if you’ll agree with this opinion, and I don’t mean to offend you and your boy🤣 I like Jack at Leicester, but I think he’s struggled to play well for England. He clearly has the skill, and in training he’s doing enough right to gain selection, so to me it seems like only on match day he struggles. Most likely nerves. I didn’t think much of his mistakes today because 1. in comparison to others, he wasn’t bad at all and 2. he generally drops a few per game so in a way it’s kind of normal? I feel like you’ll understand what I mean. He has the potential he just struggles to deliver. But I do think he’s the future 9 for us.

I felt for players on their debut because you’re only as good as both you and your team allow you to be. Makes more sense to swap one or two out to see the real effect of the newbies. Clearly they just ran short of time with selection being this weekend but even so🙄 Bad call from Borthwick, and he’s only left himself a mess to make selection in now.

I did enjoy how frustrated the bench looked though, maybe they’ll be encouraged to change up now🤣

Ludlam is absolutely not recognized in the team but he has been brilliant in all his england matches so far !???

Plays on his very small, outdated phone, so it's even physically difficult to play well.

Rarely ever says anything during meetings, and if he does it's usually just to defend (Y/N). Like some could be accusing him and he'd just be like "🤐"

Sometimes (Y/N) takes pity on him and tries to include him in conversation or asks the other members to please let him talk for once. He'll mumble a quiet little "T-thank you" 🥺 Somehow he always gets killed the very next round tho 🤔

He's honestly scary to play against. He somehow manages to figure out everyone's role within the first round if he's a crewmate.

If he's impostor the crewmates don't have a chance. He's super good at framing others for kills.

Always ends up framing Yoongi, because he knows that he won't defend himself.

i feel like he’d be one of the biggest streamers on his platform- probably one of those that everyone has heard of even if they’re not into watching livestreams and all

but between those who do know who he is, they either love him or hate him. no in-between

it’s kind of understandable because his attitude is not suited/can be handled by anyone

he’s brutally honest even when his opinion may be seen as rude (to him he’s just saying the truth so he doesn’t mind if people get offended)

of course he doesn’t try to be rude on purpose but i mean it as in he’ll say what he thinks

imagine he’s playing a game and he doesn’t like a certain mechanic, or he isn’t enjoying the story;

he won’t say the game is bad but he’ll openly say he doesn’t like it/it’s not for him. it makes him seem strict but tbh he’s not that hard to please and even when he complains about one or two things he still enjoys the game

he usually gives every game a chance even when from what he’s seen it doesn’t sound like a game he’ll like. if he turns out to be right he just won’t play it again and if he’s wrong he’s a little too prideful to admit he spoke a little too fast but in the end he will admit the game is good or he’s having fun

probably the kind that just knows so much about all games and all the creators and all the game-making engines and is up to date with every single news of everything video-game + streaming-related,,, how does he do it, i don’t know,,,,

and also since he’s so popular he probably gets packages from game developers with limited edition stuff or merch from different games soooo often

and he placed the ones from his favorite games in his setup room and it looks INCREDIBLE he has so much stuff

he did a room tour stream once talking about all he has, where he got everything, from his monitor to every complement of his computer and like,,,,, the cost of his setup,,,,,,, some people already know they’ll never be able to afford that in their entire life

and he already had a great setup before he even became big as a streamer so people can already guess he’s fairly rich 

also i feel like he would have started his career as a streamer without using a facecam and even like that, he already managed to get very popular because of his professional commentary of game dynamics/playability + you can tell that he’s passionate about this and also he’s very funny without even trying??

he says some stuff so casually that he doesn’t realise how funny it is

probs showed his face after he hit a very important milestone

he never considered showing his face that important but he understood why people would want to see his reactions when playing games (even tho he warned them he’s not the most expressive/dramatique person in the world and they know by now) and would want to put a face to the person who entertains them so much with his streams

and when he does show his face people go absolutely cRAZY BECAUSE he is crazy good looking (if you don’t think he’s good looking i’m sorry for your eyesight. jk i’m sorry in general i just really love him)

some people who didn’t watch his streams will even check them out because of that but literally if you come for the visuals only you won’t stay for long because as i said not anyone can handle his personality

if he sees people being superficial about him too much instead of paying attention to what’s happening in the stream, he will immediately turn the subs mode on in the chat (if he didn’t have it on already)

being rude, being disrespectful/saying discriminating stuff or anything of that sort won’t be tolerated and anyone who does it will be banned instantly

without even interrupting what he was saying before he saw the comment, he’ll just type the ban to whoever said that and go on

and his mods do the exact same. they are just as strict as him

if it ever got too much of course he wouldn’t be afraid to speak up about it and tell his chat to stop that behaviour or else, as they should already know, he won’t be afraid of banning them even if they’ve been subscribed for months or years

why do i feel like he has a super organised chat— as in instead of spamming 5 emotes per comment they all send just one and it looks so tidy and perfect

literally other streamers would be jealous of how not-messy his chat is even when he has thousands and thousands and thousands of viewers all the time

also i have this idea that maybe any of his fans would have designed him as a genshin character (which would be the design of the scaramouche we know (?))

and the little pop-ups (i don’t know the name in english rIP) thingies that show up to notify when someone subscribed or donated would be lil chibi art of that design

it’d be really cool

and since i also doodled what a stream of his could look like (i’ll show it in the future when i’m done!!) i thought that way it’d be more recognisable that the streamer is scaramouche

99% of the people who have seen him irl found him too intimidating to go ask him for a picture or tell him anything

he’s not a huge fan of taking pictures anyway + is more on the introverted/reserved side but he wouldn’t mind if someone went up to him (if he’s not busy with something) to tell him something or say they enjoy his streams

i feel like in a couple occasions he would have played a game with some subscribers and he’d like to tease them speaking with his usual tone and face (in case they’re watching the stream as they talk) so they think he’s serious

“did you watch my 12 hour stream the other day?”  -scaramouche

“ah,,,, i-” -the sub

“think well of what you’re going to answer.” -scaramouche

“i-i couldn’t watch the whole thing,,,” -the sub

“ah, is that so…?” -scaramouche 

he’ll pretend to sound disappointed but at one point he just can’t help but smirk and hold in a chuckle before telling them he’s not serious

(he literally doesn’t know how the hell he survived that stream himself because he isn’t one to stream for that long)

i feel like deep inside people who know him would know he wouldn’t say such things seriously/wouldn’t be disappointed in anyone for not watching every single minute of his streams or not even all his streams

but he says all that so seriously that it’s,,, intimidating and they’re lowkey like “god but what if he’s not joking-”

he’d play games with the other streamers sometimes but i feel like most of the type he’d play more single-player games

it’d be so funny if he plays among us with others and for example one of those others it’s childe

both of them would always be suspecting of the other first/bickering, especially scaramouche

and if one game turns out they’re both the impostors… people would know right away

like, if any of them tried to defend the other, everyone else would be like “!?! what is this? scaramouche and childe defending each other? scary”

they’d vote one of them (maybe scaramouche) out because they started guessing + saying proof of how both of them could be the impostors (but the biggest proof is them not coming for each other’s throats sNKJFNGKJS)

scaramouche would have to resist the urge to S C R E A M

needless to say he doesn’t like when he has to be impostor with childe

and unfortunately for him, fate makes it happen considerably often

i feel like at least one time scaramouche would kill next to childe and then report it and literally blame childe

and childe would be like ?!?!?!?!?? WHAT- NO- (struggles bc his brain instinct is to say ‘it was you!’ but they’re both the impostors??? how-)

and then they’d eject childe,,, and then people wouldn’t suspect of scaramouche for most of the game because ? why would he- blame his partner---

well he did it with no regrets and at the end when they all found out they found it very funny (except for childe, but even he ended up laughing in the end because what a mean strategy sjkfhdsgkj)

i have this feeling that even though they bicker so much and for any strangers it’d seem like they hate each other, when scaramouche does play online games, many times it’d be with childe?

ik they aren’t supposed to get along but for the sake of it being a modern au i don’t want bad vibes between any of the characters pls-

and everyone enjoys their dynamic and those streams always get a ton of viewers sjfhdsgkj and i’m sure both their chats would be good friends (most likely one’s fans would also be a fan of the other too)

very very very rarely (because he prefers just playing and talking while playing) he’d do streams where he doesn’t play anything but just talks with the chat, watches videos that they send him, looks at the fanart they make, just talks about games,,,,

it’d be super chill and the perfect streams for people to be doing homework/work/play games/draw or do basically anything while they listen to his stream in the background

he’d also be answering some of people’s questions about him or about his favorite games, or if he’s playing this new game that came out earlier this week,,,

“will you play ‘it takes two’ with childe?” -someone in the chat

“absolutely not. i won’t play a co-op game with him”

not even 5 days later, tweet from childe saying “streaming in 30 minutes! Scaramouche and I will be playing It Takes Two on my ch---”

anyways this will be all!! (for now?) i obviously knew genshin before this but, yesterday i could finally start playing it myself! so i feel like if not now, soon i will also write headcanons of him playing genshin! i don’t take requests but if you guys have any ideas or anything you want to say about this AU, send me an ask!! i’d love to talk about this and about genshin in general!
