it's your turn to share!!!

original characters make the world go round, but it can be hard to get people excited about them. but we're building a space to celebrate your love and hard work!

you can send in/link a post you already made or just make a brand new introduction to your OC and their lore, as in depth or simple as you like! and we will share it so more people can have a chance to see. we want to be your microphone to spread the news of your characters, new or old, serious or silly, dramatic or simple, elaborate or otherwise. we can also share links to things like webcomics, games, or other amazing things you've made or started making that star those ocs!

this blog is a curated gallery of your creative excitement. it is not a place to take other people's ideas or art, of course. let's share with the intention of also making others feel seen and heard, and make it a positive space for finding new creators to hype up. none of these characters belong to this blog, which should be clear. all art and ideas will be clearly sourced, and if you want more, you can follow the creator that is linked. for that reason, we will not take anonymous submissions of characters-- however, the ask box will be open for your thoughts. it would be lovely to connect people looking for collaborators! to be clear, fan characters are allowed (ie a character that you created, but that goes with an existing property)

we will tag content as appropriately as possible. if you would like to add on to your post or share that you have commissions open, we would be happy to spread that as well.

if your character has been reblogged and you would prefer the post be removed, please message and it will be addressed ASAP, but of course there will be no reposting or otherwise falsely claiming ownership of any content. we are spotlighting you! we are absolutely not taking or claiming anything.

feel free to use your own art, art that was made for you (with permission and credit, please), or art made with a tool like picrew. we will also share picrew makers that help us with the creative process! your post does not have to have art, either, but it may help in getting others excited for your ideas.

you deserve to share your OCs with a broader audience and have your hard work recognized! we would love to help you out. and if you love finding new characters to fall in love with, and new creators to adore, please follow this blog for more.

For the longest time I haven't been able to make my OC's in ways that I like other than writing. But recently I found a website called Heroforge. It's character creator is amazing and I've decided to make my OC's with it. I have made a couple but I plan on making as many as possible.

mao is a catboy ex-deity of luck who is trying to grant the wish of xander, a young and hopeful yet adorably naive inventor who doesnt really know what his wish is quite yet,,, ?? but theyre both working on figuring it out together !!

mao originally only stuck around helping xander in hopes of granting his wish to gain back his deity status, but after realizing the High Council ( the guys up top in charge of the deities ) had no intentions of bringing him back as a deity even if he could grant his wish, he found himself searching for some sort of purpose in his newly-mortal form. and so, he joins xander as they both go on journeys of self-discovery in hopes of finding their place in the world, and of course having their fair share of shenanigans along the way !

theyre very unfinished rn and their lore has been a work in progress for like four years now so sorry if some things here dont make sense TTOTT ;;;;;;;;;

The Tess-Shows-An-OC-And-Takes-AMA-Style-Prompts-About-Them Game! ...or, OC Show & Tell!

As before, check under the cut for more deets.

The previous post on this very matter did a good enough job of explaining the what and the how and the why, and so on, so I’ll just direct you that-a-way for information. Basically, I show off an OC, and y’all are free to ask anything, or otherwise engage with them.

So, who’s up this time?

Name: Calemvir (In his native canon, he has no surname, because he has no need of one.) Species: Western Dragon (It’s hard to convey in image-form, but his scales are iridescent, so he’s a thing of beauty when he catches the light!) Pronouns: he/him

Personality: Rather full of himself, but not in a mean-spirited way. Simply put, he’s strong, tough, smart, well-spoken, and wealthy; and so naturally commands a certain amount of respect. In spite of this, though, he does have a more lighthearted side that he shows only to his nearest and dearest-- namely, a fondness for karaoke; and contrary to the impression he gives, trashy pop is absolutely his top pick.

As befits a dragon, he has an as-yet-undefined lifespan. That is, we don’t know how long he can expect to live, but we do know that it’s substantially longer than most creatures-- to the point that he’s known to playfully condescend to others by referring to them as “mortals”. It’s not as if he isn’t, himself, but you’ll be long gone by the time that’s relevant.

Orientation: It takes a lot before Calemvir would even consider someone worth the time-investment of being “more than a friend”, so it’s hard to get a good read on him. In theory, he’s probably open to anyone, regardless of gender; but my experience of him thus far has only seen him express an interest-- a passing interest, at that-- in fellow males.

One thing I do know for sure, though, is that he’s protective-- not in a controlling way, but in a “The Dad Friend™” kind of way-- to those he holds dear to him, as dragons are stereotyped to do with their hoards. This imagery extends further, to his habit of affectionately referring to a close partner as “treasure”. Again, not a possessive thing; just a term of endearment.

And that’s his profile! Just like before, my ask-box is open for anything-- questions, prompts, whatever-- to get more details and whatnot out of this fine boyo. Just be sure to make it clear if you’re asking about Calemvir, since the game is still very much open for Gerry, too.

Like, when I post these, I have no intention of closing the ask-game. Each one is open indefinitely, because I’m always down to overshare about my OCs. So... yeah. Gerry is still ask-about-able, too, so keep it clear as to who’s being asked about, should you deign to participate.

Ref sheet by Flux (who also has a website, if you’re that way inclined). He tends to keep his Twitter pretty SFW, but if the occasional thirsty post turns up, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
