She Hates Pirates! Pt.8

Alba stood before a rocky mountain and held the map before her sight to double check "This is it... there's gotta be a hidden entrance somewhere" The Explorer held a hand to her chin in thought, seemingly not noticing the band of men who surrounded her, holding their weapons and grinning for a fight they picked the perfect moment for… or so they thought.

"I suppose.... I'll have to beat it outta one of you guys" she turned to the wide-eyed ambush with a blank stare.

The Capitan and his teammates forced their way through tangled bushes and mean vines, Zorro bubbled and hissed before unsheathing one of his unreplaceable blades to attack the grabby vegetation around them "How much longer do we have to stay in this hell jungle?" he groaned, earning a side glance from the straw hat chef who stood behind him.

"We'll stay as long as it takes, I'm not leaving without Alba by my side" Sanji gazed into the sunset dramatically with a cigarette pinched between his fingers. The pair to busy grumbling at each other to notice Luffy as he forced a boulder out of the way with an angry strength, with his lips upturned childishly the pirate let out a huff.

Kicking a small pebble the monkey boy continued to shuffle his way through the thick forest "Dumb Alba, leaving me behind... didn't even wait for breakfast..." he kicked another stone "Dummy...!"

At his grumbling the bright-haired pair glanced at each other as they followed his footsteps wordlessly, all appearing fine until the island shook gravely, the trees almost coming uprooted from the force while crumbling rocks fell from a nearby mountain. The shaking rocking of the island grew more violent as smoke began to build from the mouth of the elevated peek, shooting out in a group of ash before the breeze above swirled its dancing fumes in a threatening spin around the exit.

"No way!" Luffy giggled at the sudden reveal as his men yelled at the development "First Marines and now this?! Just what the hell is wrong with this island!" the swordsman flailed around as the trembles eased, the back of his red striped shirt was grabbed by Sanji.

The chef kicked himself to safety with an angry sword fighter in hand while their giggling Capitan swung from branch to branch, seemingly filled with a new sense of life since the white-haired 'Explorer' left him behind.

"You really think a girl like that is making this much racket?"

Sanji let out a grunt as he dodged a particularly large and dangerous boulder, taking a moment to think about the kind of people Luffy seemed to keep around him, beautiful girls or not, everyone touched by the friendship of their Capitan would be strange one way or another.

"Guess we can't rule out anything at this point" Sanji mumbled as he followed the bouncing rubber man.

Alba huffed and puffed inside the cave she had bullied her way through, the entrance crumbling at her epic arrival while piles of men littered the hideout, her fists trembled at the sight of four larger fighters standing before her. Each with their own nasty grin and weapon. Large guns filled the back of one big body while his friend- who allowed his large sword to hang from the left side of his hip- leaned on a shoulder, careful not to add pressure on his countless grenades.

The third fighter stood on the other side of the Marine he followed, a large cement hammer was held in one hand easily while the other gripped a huge shield that could easily cover the prepared men, awaiting any sign of danger or violence.

The largest of them all laughed at the state of his men, all beaten and bruised yet still groaning from the pain. His fat lips circled into a nearly toothless grin as he took a handful of stomps forward "Nice job you did here, lill fish"

Alba's eyes widened at the nickname and a glow quickly snapped through the darkness of the cave. Her skin grew a pale light which expelled every shadow from the cave, as the furious Alba grew brighter the largest of the group chuckled and pointed a finger to the roof of their hideaway.

"I wouldn't go and do that now- after all... one more little explosion from you and this whole island sinks" the marine chuckled as her wide stare trickled to the space behind the evil doers which had begun filling with steam and building heat. Following their seductive wisps of smoke her light dimmed as the Explorer realized why this was their chosen battleground.

Her knuckles popped at the strength of her gripping fists as her angry stare made one of the lackeys glance at his friend, wondering if fighting her in a place like this was really a good idea. What if she, like their Captain, had some sort of unfinished death wish.

here's my hot take as a shanks appreciator & a buggy stan: bro buggy's the one who left shanks! 😭

#shanks standing in the rain after getting totally abandoned by the very last person that he had left #and that's AFTER buggy screamed at him about being a coward!! and then ran off yelling about how he never forgave him #like this was a totally messy scenario and buggy was clearly SO hurt by shanks not wanting to go to laugh tale right away #but he literally said 'i've changed my mind FOR NOW'#everyone making 15 y/o shanks out to be a jerk/EVIL over it #they were literal children but bugs idolized shanks SO much that he really thought shanks was gonna be king of the pirates in like a WEEK #have always felt like shanks is very in touch with his humanity and all these aspects of being human #but especially with the celestial dragon possibilities i feel like shanks wouldn't like that buggy put him on a pedestal because he's alway #seen he and buggy as being equals & wouldn't like being above everyone else #tl;dr: poppy is sad about shanks & the shuggy break up again :(#i know buggy is everyone's baby girl now (valid) but they were both victims in the break up scene okay!!!#buggy's hurt was valid but he overreacted a bit lbr and shanks didn't betray buggy by not wanting to go get the one piece immediately!!!#ANWYAY....i'm normal thanks :) esp after chapter 1082

A furrow-browed Alba stormed her way through an empty dusty town road void of any life aside from a lowly tumbleweed which quickly bounced out of danger.

With balled fists and a quick step she hurried to a stone-walled building which was the island's largest bar, it was also the only place barrelling with loud men who were yelling and growling in celebration. A shadow cast itself over her sight as she raised a leg to kick down its massive doors from its hinges, all life stilled as navy men paused in their delicious glugs of mutton and biting off fresh food that they had no doubt stolen.

As the intruder stood before the grumbling crowd they began shouting insults and questions, asking why a little girl such as herself was fighting her way into such a dangerous area. The seemingly largest of them all stepped forward with a grin splitting through his shabby beard, leaning close he muttered "I suggest you leave soon girly- it's been a while since my men have been in such fine.... company" he giggled lowly as the monsters around him followed and stood from their comfortable seating.

She didn't move, nor did the shadow.

Fists kept alarmingly clenched as the female's limbs shuddered with the rage they withheld.

The imposing being before her chuckled again as he landed a hand on her shoulder with a cruel smile "Now now, we’re the good guys here. There's no need to be afraid"

His men began surrounding the entrance she had bullied to the ground, many still chortling to their friends as weapons were grabbed and pronounced in her sights.

Luffy sat in a pile of bones and plates as their contents were inhaled and soon replaced by more fresh deliciousness, the Capitan crunched and munched without much to bother him until he glanced around the area of staggering men, some his own and other the islands, and his brows furrowed with a hum.

"Wher'd Alba gor?" he forced through his packed cheeks, a hand on his straw hat as if it would help the monkey boy see further, the chef cooking from a large pot released a smoky breath "I don't know, last I saw she speaking to Nami and Robin" he stirred the large cauldron with and even larger ladle.

Switching his confused stare from Sanji to the ginger looking at a map on a nearby table Luffy yelled through his piles "Heeeeeeeeeey NAMI!"

The navigator growled at his rudeness as her concentration broke "What Luffy? I'm in the middle of some very important work!"

The Capitan blinked at his crewmate before taking another bite "Do you know where Alba is?"

At his simple question Nami halted her rage for a moment and held a thoughtful hand to her chin "Hmmm, I'm not sure where she is, the last time I saw her she asked me and Robin what was happening on the island"

It only took a split second for the dots to meet but both female members of the infamous straw had band gasped at their revelation "You.. don't think she went...?"

"She went to fight the Marines all on her own" Robin finished the trembling Navigator's words "By the look in her eyes Alba knew exactly what was going on. That must been why she left without us spotting her"

"GRRRRR THATS NO FAAAIR!!" the black-haired male yelled at the top of his voice in his angriest tone "She left to fight those guys without me! And withoUT BREAKFAST!!" Luffy roared at the betrayal before grabbing a red apple and racing toward the town, leaving a string of dust with ever-speeding footsteps.

"Huh? She hasn't had breakfast?" Sanji suddenly nipped into the conversation before bouncing from his makeshift stove's side "DON'T WORRY ALBAAAAA! YOUR KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR IS COMING TO FEEEEED YOOOOOOU!!"

The tornado chef was quick to follow the path his leader had left behind without any thought to the treats he left uncooked, Nami sighed as she took stock of their situation with fingers rubbing her temples "Zorro! I need you to wake up and go with them!"

At her command the hung-over swordsman slithered a dirty stare from one groggy eye before mentioning that she should go with them herself, with a louder growl and threatening fist she demanded he leave right this second.

"Alright already! Geez, can tell you didn't drink enough last night"

Luffy raced down the main street of the small parts of town Alba had shown him, so with very little memory the straw-hatted fool held up an apple with one hand and yelled from the other, not having much luck pinpointing a location until a bright explosion came from further inside the town. While the island shook dangerously at its strength Luffy giggled delightfully and his grin couldn't stop growing.

"What the hell was THAT?!" Zorro yelped from behind his Capitan as the chef couldn't stop staring at the tiny yet powerful explosion. Both gasped as Luffy somehow ran faster with a louder laugh.

"It's Alba!!"

Yes Luffy is a good person who helps people and saves lives wherever he goes but I think that more importantly than that, he punches people. I don’t think modern Luffy would be a firefighter or an EMT or anything like that at all. I think he’d be a boxer.

#I think if you asked Luffy to name his two most defining traits he’d say I punch people and I’m gonna be king of the pirates #punching and ambition are both huge parts of him #sure we can say he also does a lot of good stuff for his community when he’s not punching but #I don’t think he’d be happy in a career where he’s not punching people for fun and profit (and fame and glory)
