I'd just like to take a moment to say hello and a big welcome to all my recent followers & mutuals. How wonderful that you're here! So exciting!!

My name's Jett and I'm so happy that you're here in the Pedro fandom, and you're all so welcome here at my place too! 🖤

I'd also like to share with you some hints and tips on navigating this fandom and Tumblr.

Perhaps this is your first time in a fandom, or using a site like Tumblr, and I can appreciate how daunting it can feel. I've been there. Trust me. 🥴

But don't worry - I've got your back. We all have.

I hope you find it helpful, and if you have any questions, or just want to say hello back, please feel free to reach out. 🖤

Fandom is a different experience for everyone. You get out what you put in.

What do I mean by that?

Well, fandom is an inclusive place, for everyone to come together in mutual admiration and respect for, in this case, Pedro Pascal. It's a hub to share, create and get excited about content, and to make new friends.

It's NOT a place for divisiveness, hate or toxicity, although sadly it exists here in small pockets, as it does in any fandom. 😑

The best piece of advice I can give to you, is to be respectful.

Be respectful in the way you conduct yourself. Be respectful to your mutuals and followers, and to the blogs you follow. Be respectful to Pedro. As much as we all write fanfic about his characters (and some choose to write about him; that's their prerogative, although I personally don't), he is a human being, not a piece of meat.

It's perfectly fine to get excited, to fantasize and daydream, we all do it. We all get thirsty, let's face it. That Pedro fountain is flowing. 💦 But be mindful about blurring the lines between fantasy and reality.

Have fun, that's why you're here. I'm not your mom, but always remember to respect each other. (I'm fairly certain your mom would have told you that, however.)

If you are subject to any negativity or toxicity whilst here - and hopefully you never will be as the majority of us in this fandom are friendly, approachable and lovely, if but a bit excitable - but if you do experience it, the best thing to do is to ignore it.

Block, delete and move on. Don't feed into it or be a part of the problem.

If you have an ageless or empty blog, chances are you will be blocked.

Tumblr has a massive bot problem. 🤖 Specifically a porn bot problem.

It's easy for us to spot a fake blog or a bot that follows us. They usually have an empty bio, no icon, or their icon is an AI generated image of a scantily clad female. We all block them. 🚫

Most, if not all, writers in the Pedro fandom (and other fandoms too) write smut. We love it. And we know you do too, it's probably why you're here. But we are responsible writers, or try to be as responsible as we can be, by ensuring that no minors under the age of 18, to our knowledge, are reading our smutty fics.

So, if you have a blog that doesn't have your age on it, chances are you'll be blocked. We're protecting ourselves and we're protecting you.

Unfortunately, Tumblr is working against new users of the site in the fact that they now ask you to follow a few blogs BEFORE your profile bio is able to be set up or edited. I know, counterproductive right? So chances are you're getting blocked even before you start. 😖

I'd urge you to add your age onto your blog at the very least. It's okay to have an anonymous profile if you want to, but please, please tell us your age. Otherwise we will have no choice but to block you.

The RE-BLOG button is the only button you need.

Look at this:

The icon in green is the RE-BLOG button, the two arrows.

You'll find this at the bottom of every single blog post, including your own. Look at the difference in the numbers here. See how they differ from the RE-BLOG to the likes, the heart icon?

Yeeeeah. We don't want that disparity. We want that RE-BLOG icon to be the biggest number on our posts.

And here is where you can help with this:

PRESS THIS RE-BLOG BUTTON. DON'T STOP PRESSING THIS RE-BLOG BUTTON. LOVE THIS BUTTON. RE-BLOG EVERYTHING YOU LIKE!

Tumblr doesn't work like Instagram, Twitter/X or other social media platforms where 'likes' drive content to be seen. Here on Tumblr RE-BLOGGING is what gets our stories onto your home feed for you to see them and enjoy.

If you don't RE-BLOG, our posts get lost and have very little engagement, and that is why your favourite writers then stop writing and leave the site.

RE-BLOG, RE-BLOG, RE-BLOG everything you like and love. I cannot stress that enough.

Likes are nice, but they do absolutely nothing. Zilch. Nada. Bupkis.

Well, that's not technically true. Likes tell me that you've seen my post. That's it.

Annnnd what can I do with that info? Nothing. That's what.

RE-BLOGGING the post tells me however that you've enjoyed it, loved it even. That makes me very happy and inspires me to carry on writing fics that you'll (hopefully) enjoy.

Pressing the heart icon works like a bookmarking feature on Tumblr rather than a liking feature as you're probably used to from other social media sites. And the more things you like here, the more your older likes get pushed to the bottom of your epically long like list, to be forgotten about and will probably never see the light of day again.

Personally, I like to use the like button as a way of bookmarking something to come back to later and then I will RE-BLOG it once I've read it.

There is no limit to the amount of times you can RE-BLOG the same post, but you can only like it once. That should tell you that liking something here on Tumblr has no effect.

Tumblr is all about encouraging engagement through RE-BLOGS, the algorithm does nothing if you press the like button and move on.

By all means, give that heart icon a press, but please also RE-BLOG it at the same time. We will absolutely love you for it!

☝🏻And be mindful of going on a mass liking spree - Tumblr doesn't like that and neither do we. It's a quick way for you - and us - to get shadow-banned and Tumblr will think you're a bot. And being shadow-banned is incredibly annoying for everyone involved. Trust me. 😖

Talk to us. We love it!

We love getting positive/constructive feedback on our work. We love engaging or interacting with you. I certainly love receiving and responding to any comments, DM's or ASKS that I'm lucky enough to get.

But again, ensure you're respectful.

Tumblr has created an ASK feature where you can ask us a question, and you also have the option of asking us that question anonymously if you'd like.

If you do use the anonymous (anon) option on your ASK, be aware that we have the right to ignore or delete your ask if you're being a jerk. Don't be a jerk.

This feature is for someone to interact with us anonymously if they're shy. Not to be abused to send hate or negativity our way.

You'll find the ASK button on the main page of anyone's blog that has it activated, just below their bio.

And Tumblr has made it easy for us now to see if you're a mutual of ours, even if you're asking on anon FYI. So we can narrow it down to finding you if you do happen to be a jerk... just saying.

Be respectful in your comments, DM's, ASKS and RE-BLOGS.

Yes, you can leave comments on your RE-BLOGS too. Another reason for you to press that RE-BLOG button.

If you use something, always give credit to the source/creator where possible.

One way to garner enemies in any social media space is to use something that isn't yours, without crediting the source.

Now, it's impossible to physically ask everyone if you can use their content, however Tumblr makes this very easy for you to do that in most cases.

Yep, RE-BLOG IT.

RE-BLOGGING leaves a clear trail back to the original poster for everyone to see.

Now, if you use something without re-blogging, which you can absolutely do when you create your own blog posts from scratch, you should give credit to anything you use in your post that is not something you have originally created yourself.

Perhaps there is a GIF you like, for example. You can post it, but you should absolutely give credit by tagging the blogger/creator who created that GIF. (Tumblr also has their own selection of GIFS you can use FYI, and when you do they automatically add the original creator's tag at the bottom of it. Easy!)

And this should be respected if you use another's person's art or writing too.

Now, I could quite happily sit here and tell you all about copyright law, but we'd be here forever and frankly it's a boring topic and I'd rather you get out there and read all the awesome fics you're going to discover instead.

But, in a nutshell, any picture of Pedro you post, does not belong to you, no matter how many times you write your user name all over it.

Look, we all do it; we all like to make our edits, our banners, our covers look wizard, and I do it myself. But what we can't do is claim ownership or copyright to it.

Some people will try; they'll get pissy if you use something that they claim they found first or is "theirs" because they plastered their user name all over it... putting your username on something does absolutely nothing FYI.

☝🏻No-one can claim copyright or ownership to any image of Pedro, unless they physically took that photo themselves and can back it up with evidence should they be challenged legally.

My advice here is to always credit the source on anything you want to use, i.e. where you found it and tag or link back to the original content creator where possible.

If you're unsure where it originates from, you can still use it, but just make a note in your post somewhere about not knowing who it belongs to etc... so the original creator can advise you later.

Again, it just all boils down to being respectful.

And if you're ever not sure if you can, or should, use something, reach out to that creator on Tumblr and ask. They'll appreciate it, regardless if they give you permission or not.

I have been pretty silent up until now. I am more a behind the scenes kind of person.

Thank you for all the kind messages we received so far. We appreciate each and every one of them.

And it's totally ok if you want to stay anonymous. We've seen what happens when you show a glimpse of support for John or just hint at not being against him: hate in your inbox (so sorry, Vicky, that you had to experience that). And yet, we (John, Mycroft and I) are painted as the bullies.

The split has been a long time coming. John was truly unhappy with how things were going in the role play. From what I heard, communicating with consult-sherlockholmes (about it) was difficult at best. I experienced the same issue first hand. People who follow the role play know that Sherlock and I never got along. I tried, really tried to get behind it and improve the situation. But every attempt to communicate with him was simply ignored or he tried to humiliate me (which is something I couldn't care less about 😆). I believe that John was mostly ignored, unless Sherlock wanted something from him.

Things went from bad to worse, clearly seen in the interaction between the rp blogs. John was considering quitting the rp altogether. And here I actively encouraged John to do that or to find another way to continue on his own. Because I know how much he likes this blog and the interaction with his followers. So if someone was wondering if I played a role in the break-up: yes, I did. ✌🏻 Am I handling more than one account at the moment? (you know what I mean): No. I have a hard time handling Harry and my main. (I used to play Mrs. Turner @mrs-turners-blog , but that account is pretty much inactive. It could become more active again in the future, who knows.)

Was the break-up handled unprofessionally? (Something only John was accused off many times.) Yes, it was. On both sides. If your partner of 2+ years wants to leave, you support their exit in every way. You don't use everything you have to make them stay, or try to paint them black before they exit and after. You don't tell others they are not to be trusted or to be believed. The break-up was handled with way too much emotion involved. Because they both care a lot about the characters they play. I am the same with Harry.

And then everything got blown out of proportion, like hello? It's only a role play. On tumblr. We do this for fun! I fear some people don't know what fun is (if that is you, please consider getting professional help!). People are taking themselves way too seriously. Throwing around big words like harassment and bullying and victim and perpetrator and scandal (that's my number 1 favourite, actually) like hand grenades.

We should have just ignored all that. That's where we - as a collective - went wrong. Because no matter what we do, people (you know who you are) will find a way to twist it so that we are the bullies, so that we are trying to silence others, which is so ridiculous, I don't even know what to say. In fact, they are the ones who are silencing those that bring a different perspective to the table. That's not objective reporting. That's taking a premeditated side.

But it's also totally valid for John to defend himself against all the ridiculous accusations, not letting himself get silenced. Because the person behind John is nothing like that: he isn't a bully, he isn't an abuser, he doesn't silence others. Because of this and because of my own experiences with Sherlock (on this account and my main), I stand 100% behind John. So, please: if you think you want to send some anon hate (cowards!) to John, send some to me as well. @therealharrywatson If it wasn't for me, John would have either quit the rp or he would still be stuck with an incompatible rp partner. I am as much to "blame" as he is.

I am really glad for John that he continued and even found another Sherlock. I hope they continue the role play in a fun way - like it's supposed to be. And I will try to chime in every now and then as the annoying big sister who is looking to turn her life around.

PS: This is not about forcing you to pick a side. If you want to continue to follow and interact with consult-sherlockholmes, that is totally fine. He played/ plays a pretty convincing Sherlock and deserves to continue on his own. Just not with consultjohnwatson. I -and John as well- do have a problem with the people who went after John and made him the bad guy in this. So, if you were blocked by one of us, it was probably because you openly supported those people. Not because we want to silence anyone (how does that even work?), but because we don't want the negativity and drama. Like I said before: we are role playing for fun.

“So you taught yourself how to read hieroglyphics? In a couple of months?” you ask, eyes stuck on Steven instead of the book in his grasp.

He tilts his head. “Well, yeah, it’s really not that hard actually. I try to learn a few new hieroglyphs a day. Quiz myself on the bus if I’m not nodding off, or if the gift shop is empty and Donna isn’t hanging around like a fly.

“And it’s not perfect, but I’ve been working on translations of one of my books. I’m about a few weeks in now, got the first half of it done. Still kind of rubbish, I’d say.” He goes back to reading the text in front of him. His eyes narrow and his nose scrunches as he tries to figure out a symbol he isn’t sure of. You think it’s probably the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. He decides finally, reads it out loud, and turns the page.

“That’s really cool. Quite brilliant, actually.” Your fingers tap together, a new nervousness coiling in your stomach as a question forms itself on the tip of your tongue. “Can you—could you teach me sometime? I mean, I know I probably won’t be able to decipher them as well as you would, but y’know, I’d like to try. Learn with you.”

He immediately beams at you, eyes sparkling through the lenses of his glasses. “Yes!” It comes out a little more enthusiastic than he’d like. Steven coughs, a hint of a smile still on his lips. “Of course, love.”

You lean further into his side, head landing on his shoulder and eyes back on the pages with more diligence than before. “Tell me about the gods again.”

some people reblogging that addition with the story about my friends and I gushing over each other behind each other's backs are saying "or you could just say that to their faces" or "this is why you need to tell them instead of keeping it in your mind" but the thing is!! I got to know about it in the first place BECAUSE I was told.

When I exited the staff room after our discussion on the paper presentations I found them talking and they said "we were just talking about how cool you are" and i was like "no way! We were talking last night about how cool you are!" That incident was reassuring because it helped us open up to each other as a friend group too. When I hear a song that reminds me of my friend I text her now and say 'I think I like this song only because I imagine it in your voice'. When I'm at some fun event I text my friend saying 'wish you were here with me'. But the knowledge that our friends don't "secretly hate us" had to come from that incident for me.

Because at the very centre of it is this insecurity that they might lie when they're saying it to our face, they might be saying it to be nice, they might be pretending to like us for whatever reason, they might have liked us once but don't anymore and don't know how to say it, etc etc. And I think it's far more reassuring for a lot of us to know that even when we aren't there, even when there is no impetus to be lying, even then our friends will express their love towards us. Not just to us, but to anyone who will listen. It's a beautiful thing!

And likewise there are so many people tagging the story with how they have a hard time expressing their affection too, or they don't feel ready to gush about someone to their face, and that's not a flaw, that's also coming from the same insecure place of coming off as caring too much, as being too invested, as being too close, as being too "desperate", all of which has been used against a lot of people. Or it's simply a difference in communication styles and love languages. And that's why just knowing that your friends' love for you is still constant and expressed without your presence is reassuring and opens up more avenues to communicate all this in the first place.

Lot of people, especially fellow autistic people👋🏻, who are saying that's not been their experience? That's absolutely valid. Because it hadn't been mine either until I was in college, and it really is hard for neurodivergent and particularly autistic folk when every friendship is a guessing game of when their patience with your lack of social understanding runs out and they start "dropping hints" that they don't wanna be friends anymore but you never pick up those hints. Those insecurities don't just come out of nowhere and that's why it takes us long to feel secure enough in a friendship to both 1) know that our friends love us for realsies and 2) be able to express the sheer magnitude of our own affection without fear of it being another thing for them to mock. It takes time to feel secure in our connections again! And that's okay we're all just trying to find our place and recovering, and that's why incidents like those mean so much to people like us.

Sorry about this getting so long, but tldr: "just tell them they're cool to their face instead!" hasn't worked for many of us because of valid experiences of ostracization. It's a great practice to have to tell your friends you love them! But for anyone who isn't feeling secure enough to do so, it's okay to express affection in other ways. Gush about your friends to other friends! Maybe even with that friend present. Because that first time my friends said "we were just talking about how cool you are" it was said in this casual manner but that opened up the gates for much more ardent and sincere expressions of love

Hi, you made a post a few months ago asking what the sounds were in the back of the intro to dear reader. I personally think the clacking is either an exercise bike or a printer and the chimey sound is one of those lullaby toys for a child, we had one that sounded almost exactly like that. That’s my guess but I also had a friend saying she thought it was kitchen noises (as in when you’re cooking) so that’s also a possibility. I think it’s definitely meant to be household sounds. Some little hints to the ‘reader’ what goes on in her house :)

I'm only going to comment on a few things since the rest has been said and I totally agree with it.

It is true that we have the problem that the tones with which a text is written can be misinterpreted since it is practically impossible to know with certainty what intentions a person is speaking with. But don't forget to read carefully either, since you can notice two passive-aggressive phrases in there but again maybe that's a misunderstanding because of the way it's structured 💀

Yes, it is totally valid if you like fluff, gore or even both, but it is not that you are forced to read what is not your fancy. People write what they want for themselves or for the person with whom they are interacting, the criteria of others is irrelevant since if you don't like it, you simply don't read it and that's it.

And c'mon, don't tell me there hasn't been at least a little bit of gore written here. I have seen a few blogs that have written this kind of content, it is not frequent, yes, but they are within their rights.

People are just giving their opinion too bro, and without giving hints and belittling anyone 💀 In addition to not forgetting that this is Tumblr guys, there is a lot of review here and anyone can report your gore post that is too explicit and bye bye blog 👋🏻 People worry about that too.

I can perfectly understand how frustrating it is not being able to read content you like, I would also like to be able to create more gore content but I don't want Tumblr whipping my ass again.

And how it's say, be what you want to attract. Maybe if you take a step forward to write the content you like, people with the same hobby will reach you. I've seen a lot of people who are afraid to make content or even interact with someone with a certain category for the simple reason that they might make them uncomfortable or whatever, I myself have experienced that a lot of shitty misunderstandings arise here that can be easily fixed. THERE ARE EVEN PEOPLE TERRIFIED TO JUST SAY HELLO IN CASE THEY BOTHER YOU.

Hi I’m Linn (she/they) and I wanna participate in the platonic event if that’s okay (also English is not my first language). I have NOT read BSD manga but I have watched all the seasons!

I am infp and I don’t think I have took the other quiz you talked about (I hope I can still participate) and I’m quite shy and then i get more energetic the more I get to know a person. But I’m not the person to ask if you wanna hang out. Im also pretty lazy but I think I’m kinda smart at least, and I steal snacks if there are any home.

I have found that I don’t get along with people that can easily get angry and I have to walk on eggshells around them if I don’t want them to scream at me. And I have encountered those type of people a lot because I play volleyball and some people are that but I don’t want them to affect me because I love playing volleyball. My other hobbies are guitar, song and painting probably (also reading fanfics but we don’t talk about that)

I would like it if I don’t get pared up with Mori or the siblings because I don’t like them. Also thank you if you read through all of it.

-Ranpo doesn't really mind your quietness and your energeticness. He thinks it's nice how you could be both of them, and also how you knew which mood fit which scenario

-He gives you a lot of headpats! He also likes receiving headpats from you, but I feel like he would be the one to give it more

-Eating a lot of snacks and sweets!!! Ranpo has similar tastes to yours, and his snack locker is always full of snacks. He won’t share them with you all the time, but sometimes he is nice enough to let you have one (probably on your birthday or another special occasion)

-Ranpo is even more lazy than you. He’d basically ask you to do him easy favours in a whiny voice that really makes you irritated, but Ranpo always pays you back, whether it be in snacks or quality time

-He will help you with your homework, but only if you gave him some snacks or something that he wanted. But Ranpo isn’t going to make tutoring easy; he’ll just give vague hints that help you a little. He’s still going to make you solve the question by yourself, but his hints do help a lot

-Ranpo would constantly talk about his cases and his intelligence. You love listening to him talking about the thousands of cases that he solved, and he likes having someone listen to him. He loves it when you praise him; afterall, he is the world’s greatest detective!

-Ranpo would bring you along on the cases that are easy and don’t pose a threat to you. He would sometimes make it a competition to see who could solve the case first, but he always wins. It doesn’t mean that he won’t let you try though

-If you asked, he would probably give you some tips on how to solve cases. He doesn’t doubt your intelligence, and he would feel proud if you also grew up to be a great detective

-Volleyball? I headcanon that Ranpo doesn’t really like sport, but if you have any upcoming competitions, Ranpo would just cast a glance over the opposition team’s members and briefly say what he think their weaknesses are. He’s always right, and you often find yourself winning due to that knowledge

-He likes your peacekeeping nature, however, he’s not going to sit back if someone was yelling or bullying you. With his smart brain, he can easily teach that person a lesson

-Ranpo is neutral towards the guitar and painting, but one time you painted a portrait of him, as well as composing a song for him on your guitar. He was secretly very happy

-Overall, he’s a lazy but cool brother figure. Buy him the latest snacks, but don’t try to hide them, since he already knows lol

And your parent figure is... YOSANO AKIKO!!!

-Would see some similarity between you and Ranpo at first, but over time she sees you as your own person

-She doesn’t approve of you eating snacks all the time, but she does allow you some once in a while. Sometimes, Yosano might even join you and Ranpo in eating a few snacks, but she won’t eat a lot

-Yosano didn’t really mind your quiet side, but she likes your energetic side more. I feel like she’s more of a listener, so she would like listening to you talk while contributing a bit to the conversation

-She takes you on a lot of her shopping trips, and she actually likes hanging out with you. Even if you don’t talk as much, Yosano doesn’t mind the silence, and she will take you to other places to spend some quality time with you e.g. a cinema, food fairs, amusement parks

-Yosano would teach you self-defence if you asked for it, but I feel like she’d teach you more about first aid and the human body. She would hate it if you got injured and didn’t know how to treat yourself. She always makes sure that you have a couple of bandages on you

-I feel like Yosano is the type to try out any sport. So when you mentioned to her that you played volleyball, she is immediately dragging you to a volleyball court to play with you. Atsushi would listen to you vent, and he will buy you your favourite snacks and offer you words of encouragement

-Atsushi wouldn’t really lecture you, unless if you did something really bad. He doesn’t like it when he lectures you, but he knows he has to do it to help you learn

Crazy theory anon here, coming back to scream at you about Manner of Death like I threatened promised👋🏻

Okay, I actually really enjoyed it even though I’ll admit it took me a few episodes before I got into it but once I did, maaaaaan it got good. So I’ll share some thoughts below.

1. Why do so many people in this place live in these mansions all by themselves? I think Bun and Nam were the only two that lived in normal people dwellings but the rest of the town seemed to be making a career out of haunting their houses.

2. After you said there were some twists and turns that you didn’t see coming, I was excited to be surprised. Majority of media I watch/read that are mysteries or “who done it” type stories, I figure them out very early on. It’s one of the downsides to having good pattern recognition but unfortunately the same thing happened here. It’s ok though because I’m still able to enjoy it and instead find the beauty in the intricacies of good storytelling.

3. *sigh* Let’s talk about Rung. The moment Rung showed up to Janes house the morning after her death I knew she was involved and honestly suspected she had done it. I know that sounds crazy but I thought it was odd. Tan was there that morning to pick Jane up for work and Rung would have known that her sister was teaching and wouldn’t have been home at that time. So why did she show up when her sister wasn’t supposed to have been home? Then her whole reaction felt… performative. Maybe so nobody would question her and maybe even a way to get any info she could about where the investigation would go but she really played the perfect grieving sister. The more that was revealed as the story progressed just kept reinforcing my suspicions. She showed up at the most opportune times to help Bun and Tan but each time I could see how it would actually benefit her and whoever else was involved if you looked at it from a different perspective. Human trafficking? Rung owns a “spa”? The “rescued” girls are staying there? Interesting. When Sorawit got shot outside the secret house in the woods, he fell in front of a car that looked just like hers. The hell would she be doing out there? Definitely involved. At the end of the day she wanted power and money and had no qualms about torturing her sister to get it all because she was jealous and vindictive over Pued. Did you see the light in her eyes when she saw that the Judge was lusting after her baby sister? The opportunity she saw there? Disgusting. Maybe she was used in the past as well like she hinted, and I would have some sympathy for the person she was then but I’m not sure I believe her. If it is true that actually makes it doubly worse bc how could you then turn around and willingly do that to those children while profiting? That woman was a heartless monster, I never had any sympathy for her crocodile tears and I’m glad she ended up the way she did. A murder staged to look like a suicide. Beautiful. Poetic. Deserved. 👏🏻

4. I really wanted to be shocked about the Judge! That looked like such a breathtaking reveal if you didn’t see it coming. He also seemed rather obvious from the start. Too helpful and too calm about everything. Then they showed that flashback to Jane threatening to expose them at the party before she died. I knew I was right the moment I saw the judge sitting at that table with the rest of them. When I saw that I was like damn, yeah, he’s definitely involved. Only later to find out he was the most violent and depraved of all the men there.

5. On a positive note I will say that I’m happy Inspector M turned out to be a good guy and a great cop. He seemed like he’d be a character with strong morals in the beginning but, I did start to wonder if he’d been bought off when he started his shit about the autopsy report, trying to go against Buns findings in order for Janes death to be ruled a suicide, and the tug of war with the laptop. They almost had me questioning him but I never lost hope that he’d make the right decision and I’m so glad that it didn’t go another way. He ended up being such a key part of what made the plan work and I don’t think it would’ve gone their way had he not helped Bun and Tan. I’d also really love to live in TV world where people get beat to shit and shot multiple times only to be kicking ass a day or two later with nothing more than a minor limp. Man has healing powers to rival Kinns lol! Also the actor was super attractive. Just saying.

6. Nam! Omg this girl wasn’t phased by anything! After all the horrors she was put through, after all the failed escape attempts and failed rescues, she never backed down and was able to stay strong. The experience will definitely leave some permanent scars but she seems like the type of person that could deal with it head on and push through. She also had the balls to I.D. the Judge right in front of his face. Like yes you go girl! I just respected her so much for her strength.

7. That and Sorawit were adorable. I didn’t expect That to be a character I’d like as much as I did. When he beat up Sorawit in the beginning and then was threatening Bun I was wary of where they’d take it with him but he ended up being a brave kid with a good heart just like Sorawit. I’m also a little bummed that their relationship didn’t progress much on the show. They obviously had feelings for each other but that was never really fleshed out so I’m not sure why they hinted at it so much in the first place. Either way I enjoyed their schemes and interactions.

8. I’m not going to say much about Pued bc I’m still not sure how I feel about him. I’m disgusted that he was willing to do what he did to Jane (and possibly at one time to Rung seeing as his Playboy status was mostly him “recruiting” girls for the business) and I do feel like he loved Jane at least in some way but to sell your girlfriend out like that? For a better position? At least in the end he regretted his part in all of it and especially what it had done to Jane. So I don’t like him but I do respect that he was going to do the right thing in the end. I’ll give him that much. I also very much liked his relationship with Tan. They had such a messed up family dynamic so it was nice to see that Pued loved him as a brother, a whole brother, and was willing to stand up to Por when he was being unfair and cruel. That’s the beauty of flawed characters I guess. I also wish they had revealed more about the brothers and their past with their father.

9. I didn’t expect to like Por. I really didn’t but I liked him in the way I like any morally ambiguous character. He wasn’t law abiding nor “good” by any means but he had his own fucked up moral compass that sometimes just made sense and he really would do anything to protect the ones he loves. Even Tan once he got past the grudge he held against him for so long. That man had a life mission to avenge his brother and I was rooting him on the whole time. Honestly I just think he’s neat 🤷🏻‍♀️

10. Also a big shoutout to Pat. I need to apologize for calling him a heartless asshole in the beginning because they wouldn’t have had any info without that man and he didn’t deserve to meet such a horrible end. He gave his life to tell the truth and almost didn’t get the chance.

11. Okay okay okay. Onto Bun and Tan finally. I’ll admit that I wasn’t into their dynamic in the beginning but I think that mostly had to do with me not understanding what exactly Tans relationship was with Jane. I was hoping they wouldn’t hook him up with Bun immediately after his supposed gf was murdered but then when it was revealed that they were just friends, it made more sense. As for their chemistry? Listen, you know as well as I do that it’s hard having KP and MA as your intro to BL couples because their chemistry is just off the damn charts. Everyone else has paled in comparison so far. Now, Bun and Tan did have good chemistry and it was very apparent during a couple of their more intimate scenes but I do feel that their relationship progress was somewhat hindered due to the enormous plot of the story. The mystery was great and executed well but I feel the main characters relationship suffered because of it. It would’ve been nice if they’d spent a little more time developing them. For example: why make it a big deal that they met 8 years ago at school only for them to pretty much do nothing with that later on? It’s not even just about them as a couple. I kind of walked away feeling like I learned so much more about the side characters than I did about the two leads. I’m also not a fan of how a lot of BL’s like to make one character very affectionate but the other half is always reluctant/defensive with it and they did some of that with these two. I did enjoy at the very end to see Bun finally being cheesy and romantic with Tan in their final scene together. And the marriage proposal? I mean I would’ve still said yes but Tan would’ve received a crisp slap for that set-up. Not funny Tan. Not funny. The box was cute tho.

12. Can we talk about Jane? Just poor Jane. Everyone she trusted just used her up and then gaslit her when she begged for help. That’s why imo out of all of the people who were a part of this disgusting organization, Rung was the worst. Watching Jane in those last couple episodes almost broke me and I couldn’t imagine my older sister doing those things to me and not having the slightest ounce of compassion watching me breakdown because of it. Jane was unfortunately naive and her sister knew she could use that to her advantage and for too long it worked. Then that moment when Jane sees Natty at the Orgy and realizes how bad it truly is? The realization that this is happening to children and one she actually knows? Yeah I fully understand why she risked it all. It’s so heartbreaking that a good, trusting person was used and abused like that but her perseverance and determination to tell the truth, no matter the risk to her, is what made me love her and I’m so happy that Bun fought tooth and nail to make sure her voice was heard and that she didn’t die for nothing.

13. Inspector Tong was so pathetic he barely deserves mentioning and I’ll forever be livid that the Congressman escaped. Although I do find it a bit funny that he had to escape the same way they transported those poor girls. I hope it was a nightmare.

14. Also another big shoutout to the computer geek superhero who’s name I never learned. They would’ve been nowhere without him and he was also a much needed comedic relief on more than one occasion. That cute lil hug with Tan and Bun at the end made me giggle.

15. That town had one braincell and unfortunately Bun and Tan were the two who used it the least. I was yelling at them when they saw Junes email and password in that book. CLUES YOU IDIOTS THERE COULD BE CLUES! Glad Bun remembered at the very last second.

I want to add that I appreciate the content warning you gave. I’m someone who’s a big believer that we are responsible for our own triggers out in the world and I think it’s actually important to face those things when we encounter them. That being said, the subject matter was dark and some things affected me in a way that I didn’t expect and without going in prepared, I think I would have had a different experience. So again, thanks for the heads up. I really enjoyed this though and I’m kinda sad it’s over tbh so I’m excited to start “Not Me” in the next few days and see where it leaves me. Again, thanks for the recs Jaime! Sorry this got so long.

Ok I'll put my response under a jump so this isn't too long...

So I agree, it took me a couple eps to get into it too but thankfully I was in the mood to endure and I was intrigued enough by the premise.

1. True! There were some wild homes actually. In fact, a lot of the scenery in general was pretty gorgeous. But Tan's home was crazzzzzy.

2. I remember being a little sus on the sister initially but I fully did not see the story of her literally selling her sister coming. When you lay out your own suspicions though it totally makes sense you figured it out. Tbh, I just didn't pay that close of attention. Rung really was the most despicable human and I think the depths of her depravity and how viscious she was to her sister was what shocked me the most. Especially when her sister loved her so much. That was heartbreaking. I completely agree that I loved how she met her end. Very deserved.

4. I also had figured the judge was involved. He just seemed like a well placed character for it an a 'surprising' choice. I found the details tended to throw me the most. As you say, he was absolutely depraved. I was so not used to BLs diving into such dark themes and the way this story committed... damn. Like, the story required it, but holy shit. It was a dark story.

5. One thing I loved was how Bun was constantly calling out the police force on being corrupt and inept. So I was pretty damn critical of Inspector M initially, but I liked how that developed too and that he actually was a good guy. I lol’ed at your comment about healing powers. The power of the BL world truly lolol. 

6. Nam was such a badass. I was so disturbed by that moment Jane sees her in the... I don’t even know what to call it? But you’ll know the moment I’m referring too. Like, I could just feel Jane’s total horror in that moment. I’m so glad things turned out the way they did for Nam. 

7. The That and Sorawit story was quite adorable and unexpected. I think it was supposed to be a cute little ‘Tan and Bun if they had met in the past’ sort of thing. Nothing too serious and a way to help humanize and soften That. 

8. I agree that Pued was a hugely flawed character. I actually liked how dark the truth was - with him basically handing her over. It was terrible but I liked that he had serious reasons to feel an incredible amount of guilt. I didn’t like him either but I did appreciate a lot of his scenes, especially that love but conflict situation he had with Tan. And it did break my heart when Tan started crying when Pued collapsed. Because as much as the brothers fought, Pued was one of the only family members that truly loved Tan.

10. I felt so bad when Pat died even though it was pretty obviously coming. I liked the reveal of Jane slipping him the USB drive. It really was nice to realize there was more going on there than him just being a dick reporter. 

11. Omg the thing about not understanding Tan’s relationship to Jane. SAME! Like, obviously that was intentional on the shows part but I saw this post that basically said, ‘To think how easily Tan could have cleared so much up by just simply saying ‘I wasn’t dating her’ but he refused to do so’ and it’s so true 😂. What a chaos gremlin. So I admit I felt very conflicted and weird about Tan and Bun initially too. I kept waiting for the reveal about Tan and Jane not being together but it was unclear for a while. I do agree that the relationship progress was hindered by the plot. This show felt much more plot-driven with a sprinkling of ‘romance’. And there were moments I was confused by them not taking more advantage of the situation. Like Bun and Tan sharing a bed for so long? And we basically just... never saw it? All I could think was that the show was trying to very actively avoid common tropes (i.e. sharing a bed trope). I get what you mean about not being a fan of that whole thing with Bun being so much more timid and resistant (on the surface). It’s not my fave thing either. And I’m actually not sure what that whole ‘they met 8 years ago’ thing was about. I was thinking maybe it had more impact in the book? And that was just lost in the show. I enjoyed them but I do think the show was massively helped in that department by the actors’ chemistry. I did love the domesticity aspect of their relationship and how they so easily and comfortably sunk into life lived together. It made them getting married at the end not seem out of the blue. Tho... SAME. I would have punched Tan for that proposal stunt... my god. For Bun to still find that moment romantic... truly they must be made for one another lol. 

12. God, poor Jane!!! Ah yes you mention the moment when she sees her student here. She really was just used and abused by everyone she trusted the most. That’s why I was so glad that it was made clear throughout the show that Bun truly cared for her and wanted justice for her (and Tan too - though that was unclear for much longer as his motives were so mysterious in the beginning). Her story was just so gut-wrenching. But I am glad the show didn’t pull punches. You know how in some shows it’ll be the surprise reveal of ‘oh look, they’re not dead!’ so that the story isn’t so dark? I always feel like it completely takes away from the impact of the original story they were telling. And this story was too damn dark to pull punches in any way. So as horrific as the details were, I was glad they didn’t flinch from them. 

13. Ohhhh I forgot the Congressman escaped! It made sense to me in the storytelling because... well, that’s reality. It’s exactly what I would expect to happen. But god that made me mad too.

I’m glad I did warn in that case and you were at least a little more prepared. It’s definitely a way different take on a show from what is normally seen in the world of BLs. That’s I think why I appreciated it the most. I’m so used to the more teeny-bopper takes on these stories, that I truly welcome more adult approaches (hello Kinnporsche). It was so interesting to read your review! I loved hearing all of your thoughts. 

I will be so curious to hear what you think of Not Me. I just had a friend watch it over the past couple of days too so I’ve been reliving it. I think you’ll enjoy. Something to know about it is that it was shot on an extremely small budget and in some cases they were literally shooting scenes the week before they aired, with the director editing up until the night before the ep aired. So that’s not to warn you the quality will be bad, because it’s not, but just to give you context on how incredible what they achieved was. They used real footage from protests as well as actual protestors and protest leaders in scenes. And some of the events that take place are based on real events. So it’s a fascinating story. Also the director is a transwoman and I think that pov really adds an important dimension to some of the issues tackled. It has some definite flaws (you’ll likely notice this more in the last couple of eps as the story wraps up) but overall it’s a far different level of quality from other BLs. And it’s absolutely the best acting I’ve seen in BLs outside of Kinnporsche. I think you’ll be entertained!

(OOC: Sometimes your sim does get pop-ups when in relationships if they haven't been intimate in a while that they're "worried" about who the other sim is seeing behind their back- but that's usually if another sim flirts with their partner.

I know this is phrased in a confusing way, let me give an example:

So, Itama came over for Winterfest that one time and he flirted with Hitsu in front of Mari. Mari got a pop-up saying "She hasn't been intimate with Hitsu for a while and can't help but wonder who he's been seeing behind her back".

I don't think it matters if they're in front of you or not. Or if your Significant Other is being flirted with, or if they're the one doing the flirting- that message is going to pop up. BUT. I think you might need to have the "Loyal" trait. I'm not 100% sure- don't quote me on this. Mari and Hitsu both have the Loyal trait and I've seen it a few times.

I've tried to play through people flirting with them a few times, and it's a pain in the butt. It ruins the relationship between Hitsu & Mari for a very long time. For an obscene amount of time. Takes a lot of effort to fix the relationship afterwards and bring it back in good standings again. Though yes, it can be done.

I'm at that point where I save my game before every social function and if someone flirts with them I restart my game LOL. Cause it's so mind-numbingly dumb.

In real life, if I saw someone flirt with my significant other, I might be a bit jealous but would I just drop them like a hot potato and be like- you're dead to me!?

It was the OTHER person who flirted with my significant other. So why take my anger out on my S/O? Why banish my S/O? Literally the dumbest game mechanic ever.

And for anyone who thinks "well there's the ask forgiveness" or "apologize" or "smooth things over" - or whatever that option is, I forget at this point. No, that doesn't fix it entirely. It makes your friendship/romance bar go back up a little bit after depleting it from flirting. And it may remove your negative moodlet to a positive moodlet. But the overall damage to the relationship has been done. It's embedded deep- and it will be for a very long time. Don't believe me, go find out for yourselves. Enjoy 👋🏻

A lot of people recommend getting the MCCC mod - stands for Mc Command Center or something. I guess it'll help control sims from flirting with your sims. And it can remove romance bars. I don't know all of its capabilities 🤷🏻‍♀️

I already have enough mods, I don't want another one that's super complicated, so I have no interest in getting this. But I guess if my Sim's World ever totally falls apart, this will be my last resort.)

I'm not that picky^^

I kinda used to play piano/keyboards as a kid and I learned myself at home, despite my granny knew how to play and sometimes just gave me hints... but she wanted me to experiment I guess? Anyway we were taught music basics in 1st-3rd grade so I could read notes and.. it all escalated from there. Never been that far into it though: I just played a couple of songs I learned by heart and mostly tried to create some new beats (the keyboard had some cool effects) LOL I enjoyed singing much more. In 5-7th grade I had to play block flute/recorder as part of school's music lessons (but last year I ended up in the dance group that had to perform while others had to play the recorder - better to not explain the reasons behind our teacher's decision but... maybe you can guess). I'd like to play again keyboards though :)
