Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!!
Sometimes we could use a good pick me up and a lot of things can do that. Coffee, energy drinks, a good joke, a refreshing walk outside, a high energy award winning Tollywood song and dance number where two soon to be revolutionary heroes from the Raj period of India’s history school a bunch of stuffy British aristocrats and charm all of their women in a display of intensely choreographed bliss. You know, ordinarily accessible things. On a related note, did you know that the Naatu Naatu segment from RRR is 1000% wonderful?
P.S. Also, now live at the 2023 Oscars! Good job on that Best Original Song win. It wasn't even close.
Just something about the absolute goofball energy of the first, running into the megalomaniac energy of the second. I feel like President Loki would be all "I am here to rule and nothing's going to stop me!" and the Mobius variant would be confused but on board and also distracted by a dish on another table: "Oh yeah? Cool, cool, tell me more. Hey, are you going to eat that?"
ETA: I ended up writing a short thing for this idea. Adding a link here in case the one in the reblogs isn't obvious.
a collection of the live action raskolnikov from this post :D i thought this version was SO visually interesting so i did a bunch of redraws of stills (most of which aren't in that post oops, thank you @rknchan for sending them!!! <3)
Our DM: Spends two hours openly despairing at our party, despite being very willing to press big red buttons and generally cooperative when it comes to plot hooks, blithely missing like seven sidequests on our way into Barovia, Barovia because the module is constructed in such a way that it's less "well why would my character pick up this plot hook" and more "oh shit that was a plot hook??? But why?? It just seemed like environmental storytelling illustrating that the area is dangerous, what was it even trying to get us to DO"
Me: [rubbing my hands, delighted] Well I don't know about YOU guys but Atri accomplished almost everything she wanted to do in the Death House, well done team hit the showers.
Musical Touken Ranbu: Gou on Stage ~ Satomi Hakkenden; New Edition english sub
At long long last I am able to present you the subtitles for the senshuuraku of Goumyu! After a very turbulent year, I'm glad to be lowkey picking up subtitling again. For this performance, though, I won't be able to do a tl notes file. If I were fair to myself, I'd allow myself to write my grievances with what Goumyu's plot does to what had been established for Kogitsunemaru and Mikazuki when those are relevant, but if I were fair to you all, I wouldn't give you a file that's 90% complaining and 10% actual notes or background.
Don't let my grievances distract from the performance though, it's still genuinely fantastic even if the theming choices may be painful to me. Especially Oodenta is fantastic. Goodness gracious.
Keep in mind that this is only the subtitle file, timed and tled to the DMM senshuuraku. The archive version will have a talk at the start, so the starting times of the subs will have to be delayed accordingly.
By the way, in my AU Billy has a hooked nose because he broke it twice. The first accident was when he really pissed off his parents, the second one happened when he got in a school fight.
I hate that description of cookie clicker cause you're completely right and yet I (and my entire high school) was obsessed with it for months
having ADHD means i've had to learn the hard way to avoid games that require me to invest time to get better at investing time to get better at investing time BEFORE they've sucked up hours of my life for negligible emotional rewards in return.
Now I hold games like cookie clicker at arm's length and go "but what's in it for *me*? what am I getting out of this? And is the reward proportionate to the grind you want me to put in?"
Consequently i'm a lot more jaded about games like that lol.
