Happy Easter everyone 🐣

So far Easter break has been terribly unproductive, and I've been feeling anxious about the semester and all the projects.

Group projects make me feel discouraged and honestly heighten my avoidance tendencies lol

But it's not all bad, while procrastinating I've been reading some mha, watching Graham Norton and spending time with my family :)

And today it's going to be a chill day as well, so I figure if I can't focus I'll just take the chance to rest instead!

→ Arriving May 2023 🍼

Surprise or maybe not so surprise? I have kind of posted before, but I've been vague. Big life changes coming for 2023!

What a roller coaster. I didn't meant to go absent again, but life has been putting me through my paces.

2022 was an okay year, but there were losses. Which has made this whole process just a little more stressful. I'm happy to say now, I'm expecting! Baby has made it to the anatomy scan, and they are looking like a healthy little baby. I'm beyond excited and nervous as Spring approaches, but I'm also very ready for this next chapter. If everything keeps on track, I'll be having a little girl come the end of May.

In other news, I went for a new job? And I got it? So I'm movin' on up and start that tomorrow. 2022 ended on a really great note, and I am so ready to see what 2023 brings.

I'm wish I was doing more sims stuff, I wouldn't be lying if I said I don't think about my sims, my old stories, or just playing the dang game often- but I really just have no interest into the new infant patch.. so I'm waiting.

I hope to stick around and be active, to whatever capacity that is- but I have a feeling that once the baby arrives, this chapter for me may be closed, at least for a bit.

Thank you to everyone that's been kind to me here and supported me, talked to me, interacted with me- it's meant so much and has made my simblr experience fun.

If you can, good vibes/thoughts/prayers are greatly appreciated. This is something I've wanted for a long time and honestly wasn't sure would happen. 🤞 I made it to May. I'm about halfway there.

Introduction :)

Hello, everyone!

I must confess to not exactly knowing how any of this works, but I’m gonna give it a shot anyway.  I don’t actually know how this thing will look once I get started with working on it, but it’ll almost certainly be a heavy blend of writing-related stuff (specifically, promoting my own works) and fandom stuff.  (Yes, I’m incorrigible enough that those will overlap quite frequently…   :)  whoops.)

In terms of specifics… I am a fan (to varying degrees of Very Moderate Appreciation (read: fanaticism) for (at least; this is a short list) Supernatural, the Walking Dead, Good Omens, Once Upon a Time, Doctor Who (specifically, 9th and 10th Doctor eras), Firefly, Person of Interest, and, most recently, Lucifer… as well as musical theater and writing in general. Please be warned, that there likely will be spoilers for the shows I discuss.

I’d always love to hear from y’all; prompt ideas are absolutely adored, and comments on anything — should I ever get up the nerve to actually post a thing — would be great.  (Please don’t be mean, though, ‘cause that’s just bad form and I probably will take it to heart, so… yeah.)

I write as SerpentCountess on both AO3 and ffnet, for those interested; I’d adore it if you took a look, but no pressure, of course! :)

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

#i think about this story sometimes like yeah I'm proud of them for that too actually. good job baby brothers #they're not babies anymore of course they're turning 20 next year which is crazy #but they're still the type of people who'd do something if they saw something of this sort happen for sure #respectful of women and everyone else too. they're good guys #I'm glad I ended up with them living in my house against my will for like 14 years #anyway i have no idea where i was for all this but my best guess is probably a friends house given the time period #i was always at my besties house lol #i hope she's doing well too actually. haven't spoken in forever... #bestie from greek elementary school... if you're out there... let's get muffins and fanta at the bakery across the street again someday 💜☮️
