I'm finishing up Kira Kira Pretty Cure A La Mode, so these are gonna be some thoughts of mine as the series comes to an end. I'm on mobile so I can't spoiler cut, so I'll just do some spacing dots.

Wow I was not expecting it to suddenly turn into a "The Giver" style dystopia in episode 47. Kinda dark for a show aimed at very little kids lol to show jackbooted emotions police rounding people up in the streets and beating the hell out of a magical fairy dog/little girl.

Speaking of, she should've just been Cure Donut not Cure Pekorin imo lol. Cute costume, it made me think of Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon. And of course Julio should've been promoted to Cure Waffle, which was apparently possibly in the cards based on some production artwork but just didn't happen. It would've been so cool for the "You're just using Lumiere's borrowed power, you're not a real Cure" line to get retorted with "You're wrong! This is real!" and then the waffles he baked for Ciel turn into his Animal Sweet and he transforms. Ah well, at least we have a full-fledged male Cure now!

Also, this is the poem Akira was writing in her focus episode because of course I paused it to Google the text

(She's writing it in contemporary English, not the more archaic English the poem was originally written in, which is I think better for a second language learner)

Which is a very interesting poem about selfless and selfish love, the themes she wrestles with all season. Shouts to whoever on staff is a big poetry fan and put that in.

Also I bet Ichika isn't gonna remember her 14th birthday very fondly in the future lol. Even though not everyone remembers what happened, she and her fellow main cast members do! Hey remember the time you turned 14 and then a madman removed all emotion from the world before eventually swallowing it up and then we had to completely recreate it with our magic? 🤣 does that act technically make the Precures creation gods? I know it's pretty easy to liken magical girls to Messianic figures (Sailor Moon made this extremely obvious with the Holy Grail stuff), after all.

Everyone remembering their emotions and then chanting Precure reminded me of the Doctor Who episode "The Last of the Time Lords" when a similar event is what makes the world all better again. And in the end it is literally the entire world lending their aid to... again, recreate the Earth hahaha

I think it was a lovely ending too. It really wrapped everyone's stories up nicely - and I feel like the little kids Grown Ichika gives sweets to at the end are the reincarnated Lumiere and Noir, which makes that even sweeter. Himari is of course baby, precious cinnamon bun, must be protected at all costs. Aoi rocks. Yukari is the elegant goddess and Akira is DEFINITELY gonna cure the condition Miku has. Ciel and Julio are revolutionizing the world of sweets. Aww, what a great show. I had tons of fun watching it.

And now... on to Star Twinkle! I'm not super interested in Hugtto but I just love the whole vibe of Star Twinkle, which is why I'm skipping ahead a bit lol.
