Dass psychische Gesundheit zunehmend offen thematisiert wird, ist im Prinzip eine gute Sache. Wenn aus diesem „Trend“ versucht wird Profit zu schlagen, sollte man allerdings genauer hinsehen. Genau das haben wir getan.

Wer oder was steckt hinter „Hye“?

Die Marke „Hye“ hat TV-Moderatorin und Influencerin Cathy Hummels gemeinsam mit André Klan gegründet, der bereits Geschäftsführer mehrerer Unternehmen und zuletzt bei Little Lunch tätig war. Inspiration für die Geschäftsidee soll laut Gründerszene der in den USA bereits weiter verbreitete Trend zu Wellness- und Fitness-Drinks gewesen sein.

Mitgründerin Cathy Hummels leidet nach Unternehmensangaben unter Depressionen und setzt sich öffentlich für eine Enttabuisierung des Themas ein. Sie unterstützt unter anderem die Deutsche Depressionshilfe mit einem Programm zu Depression im Jugendalter.

Ob es ihre Erfahrungen und Kenntnisse zum Thema psychische Erkrankungen sind, die sie nun bewegt haben, unter die Gründer:innen zu gehen, kann man nur spekulieren. Jedenfalls sollen die Drinks, die Hummels nun vertreibt und bewirbt, zur psychischen Gesundheit beitragen: „Wir haben mit hye ein Getränk entwickelt, das Körper und Geist belebt und damit viele verschiedene Menschen anspricht“, wird sie auf der Website zitiert. Dort werden die Getränke auch mit „a sip of happiness“ („ein Schluck Glück“) beworben.
