(I'm @beanghostprincess btw this is just my main acc) Please please, I need more ideas of yours for the headcanon of Sabo being deaf in one ear. Because the reblog you wrote was awesome and I desperately need more of it. Besides, I would love to make it a bit angstier and write about him struggling but I don't have any experience with this and I think your opinions would be great <3333
AAAAA IM SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT NJSDNIJSXN OK OK BUT IF YOU WANT ANGST YOU GOTTA KNOW HOW HALF DEAFNESS WORKS. I don’t mind explaining this shit so dw I’m giggling as I write this.
I will say as a like, heads up I was born deaf in one ear Sabo lost it later on so I’m not 100 right but shut up self projection whoop whoop. I can to what I want. You can at least be half right with this information.
So unlike regular deafness it’s important to note Sabo still has one perfectly working ear. An ear that works overtime.
You need two ears to be able to figure out where noises come from cause it will be slightly louder and softer in each ear ect (idk man). Sabo doesn’t have that hence why my thought of needing Koala to be a quick guide for him. Without her help, he’s just gotta look around till he figures out what made the noise. Obviously he doesn’t have to worry too much about sneak attacks n shit cause of Haki but like. A enemy transponder snail calling and Koala is gone? He’s spinning in a circle and moving his head around till the noise gets louder and he can figure out WHERE THE FUCK IT IS.
This plus a pinch of paranoia and left on his own? Delectable. Hearing noises like distant gunshots, explosions, footsteps but can’t sense anyone and can’t figure out where they are or even where to go to help? Horrifying. ESPECIALLY A YOUNGER SABO NEW TO THIS DISABILITY.
Also in social settings this can be super tiring as in loud spaces all that noise is going into one ear and can make hearing one person trying to talk to you directly nearly impossible and rather overwhelming, that’s why I find the Luffy being loud enough to hear in a crowd delightful. There’s no strain cause Luffy is just that loud. But like. Ya know, War zones are pretty loud. And when you’re reaching your stress and social battery limit and you suddenly can’t seem to hear your best friend over the sound of canonballs? I’d be pretty damn close to tears too Sabo.
Also for a short while kid Sabo was probably easily snuck up on at least till he adjusted cause he can’t tell what side people are coming from. And when you get jumpscared cause you didn’t hear someone multiple times in an hour? It makes you feel like ASS
OH!!! Another juicy thing you could use is stripping him of his sight (as in a blindfold or a dark room) and forcing him to rely on his poor hearing to navigate. He can’t hear what’s going on and when you’re stripped of your senses it’s very easy to panic since your body can’t readjust itself.
Dude there is SO MUCH ANGST TO PLAY WITH.
Anyways as a little fluff palette cleanser: The revs obviously learned to adjust to their chief of staff’s disability and Sabo’s personal transponder snail wiggles when it’s ringing so he can know it’s his snail ringing not someone else’s. Any snail given to Sabo must be trained for this.
Ok fr though I hopes this helps! Feel free to ask more about this or ask me more specific things when it comes to your writings if you’re unsure I am always happy to help!!

You’re amazing, can you teach me how you’re so good with art? Also hi I guess
hi dear !! sorry for replying to this just now, how are you? <3
first of all THANK YOU SO MUCH??? HDHDKF its so sweet of you to say that 🤧💕 i am still on the process of learning things and there are sooo many aspects of drawing that i still have to improve on and don't master quite well (& i tend to have periods of time when im honestly very unhappy with the things i do) so i really appreciate the compliment :"))💖 having said that i am by no means a professional so ofc this is all gonna be 100% limited advice from what i personally learned from drawing and not actually a serious teaching, its up to you if it helps you ofc !
so from my personal experience, the thing that helped improve efficiently over time and get where i am now is to primarily have fun experimenting with my art and not stress out a lot about getting the whole Serious Technical Aspects™️ right from the beginning (e.g color theory, values, anatomy, perspective, etc). now; while you do have to practice these things in order to improve of course, focusing *only* on those aspects head first without actually enjoying the art you are making will eventually end on frustration, feeling stuck, and a burnt out phase. these things will naturally flow and eventually get better with time as you keep drawing consistetly and practicing, so make sure to enjoy it in the meantime!
i like thinking of drawing as smth similar to learning an instrument. if you only and primarily focus on practicing scales and pure technique and never play any songs for fun, you are going to improve yeah, but it will feel tedious over time. mixing learning songs with a bit of technique here and there, or maybe a particular scale in order to learn a song's riff will not only make it fun and enjoyable but the process is gonna feel lighter, quicker and much more effective. with drawing and art in general, i think it's pretty much the same.
pick something specific from art you want to improve on and apply it to something you like. do you wanna learn how to draw clothes folds? you can look up references pictures of the particular piece of clothing you want to study and apply that practice with an oc of yours or fanart of someone you love. color theory maybe? pick a scene from a movie or painting you like and study the way they picked those colors, what do they represent, and maybe even use that color palette as a way of practicing for your own drawings. never be afraid of using lots of references and art (they are your friends and highly important!) as a way of inspiration and as tools for improving, that's going to help millions too . watching many youtube videos of lessons and advice of professional artists of various art topics also helped me a lot! just do anything that you feel is gonna help you make the process enjoyable- you are learning things as you go while you are also having fun in the meantime !
and finally, with all of this in mind, give it time and patience! do it at your own pace, little by little, not diving into everything, all at once. any little practice you do counts in the big scheme of your art journey, it will get better with time and you will get good at it, i promise . it seems easy to put all of these things down, but it took me years of doodling and doodling to get where i am and i still don't consider myself an expert because there are more things i don't know or dont have experience with, than what i do have.
in conclusion, and to sum everything up, i think the key to "get good" and improving is to pick little specific things to practice over time (whither that be anatomy, color, etc) and mix it with something you love so the learning process is more efficient and fun. and give it time and patience. one day you are gonna look back at it and realize that compared to lets say a year ago, your art actually got so much better !
i hope this helps you !!! (and sorry if this was a bit of a long and chaotic answer JSJJD im just. putting all of my train of thoughts out here) this advice is something that im still struggling to incorporate for myself and i'm trying to follow it more often, as i've found that during the times that im not pressuring myself that much and allow myself to have fun, its like the process speeds up a lot .
again, thank you so much for the compliment and im very happy to know you like what i do!! i hope this advice helps you somehow <3💕💕💕

what are your influences/inspirations for your art!! like, stylistically or thematically!
visual art, stylistically:
the Borderlands artstyle obviously. cel shading and outlines my fucking beloved. I am so fucking sad that gbx themselves is kinda toning down on it and that they didn't implement the crosshatch shader they put in teasers for bl3. come the fuck on
the Psychonauts artstyle. even if I do no longer draw in the hyperdeformed style I took from that game I still often deform characters and exagerrate their main features in order to make them more distinct. it also kinda made me addicted to shape language lolmao
Team Fortress 2. I am fucking serious btw. blame that one youtube video on its artstyle. it's been a formative experience for me when I watched it and it stuck itself in my brain. it made me appreciate blockiness/solidity/stockiness in art, as well as teaching me how to limit color palettes and how to draw attention to the important parts of the character by using color contrast.
as for actual artists and not. Video Games. I have been eyeing cubists and futurists recently (even went to a gallery with some of Picasso's earlier works) but it's nothing too substantial as of rn
visual art, thematically:
most of what I draw is characters & fanart so. yeah .
however one thing I've been enjoying recently is redrawing paintings or old photos. usually replacing the ppl in them with my fave old man yaoi. maybe it's cringe but they are a very "love in every time" sort of couple to me so
literary art, stylistically:
positivist writing, particularly Lalka by Bolesław Prus. perhaps it's because I consider myself academically inclined, perhaps it's because naturalistic descriptions pander to my Biology Autism, perhaps it's bc of smth else idk
impressionism except not really bc im autistic and thus sensory descriptions come to me naturally
Terry. Pratchett. comparisons in my fics are often snappy(tm) as all fuck because they're, well, Borderlands fics, and to me a Borderlands novel should be Discworld-like. also because Discworld itself slaps
the work of Alexis Kennedy: the guy who wrote a lot of Fallen London, Cultist Simulator and also the Horizon Signal dlc for Stellaris. which is all shit im into. and good lird . its hard to describe you have to read this stuff for yourself
literary art, thematically:
again see the visual art section but largely my fics if they aren't self indulgent fluff are just. taken from my brain tee em because I cover topics or angles that the rest of the fandom wouldn't even think of
Alexis Kennedy again bc he writes gothic/cosmic horror. especially the latter. hoo doggy
other things that in general inspire me:
Darkest Dungeon. both the artstyle and the story have been big influences on me even tho I only played the game once and know everything abt it by watching youtube and bingereading wikis
the legacy of H. P. "Racist" Lovecraft. I guess. what can I say I am a sucker (haha) for those tentacles. except I do everything he ever did sexier and cooler and also he can go roll in his grave
legends, folklore, mythology and occultism. Hellenic of course since that's a big part of Borderlands symbolism but I ain't a coward I throw all that shit in there. slavic (creator bias lollll), norse, japanese, a bit of voudoun, biblical tradition, alchemy, tarot, et cetera. of course I usually don't talk about all the symbols that go into my Everything bc there's a crapton and everyone is entitled to their own interpretations but. yknow! and thats not even accounting for my love of assigning complex motifs to things

Concept 1 - Clubs development
For my clubs suit, the rules of one of the games im basing it on are: There are two doors in each room, one marked "Live" and the other marked "Death." Players must enter the right room in order to proceed and escape the building. The time limit for each room decreases by 10 seconds. If a player(s) enters the wrong room, they get shot by a laser and killed. If a player(s) fails to choose a room in the given amount of time, the room will burst in flames that come from holes in the floor, resulting in a Game Over.
Tumblr media
As the idea behind this game wasnt very complex and there wasnt much that made up this game I could only really think to do studies of the smoke that filled the room as the time counted down. I done these above sketches using charcoal and ink. I really liked the ink studies as I feel the way it reacted with the water creates the look of actual smoke the most.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I then took these studies into procreate and experimented with the settings to create these two pieces above. This second image is my favourite as I love all the colours and how they still all tie in to my dark colour palette I am aiming for throughout my deck of cards.

hi!!! long time fan first time asker i just wanted to know if youve got any method to ur madness with colors?? i am literally so mesmerized with how u use them and could maybe use some tips? or just if u have a specific way you go about choosing them thatd be swell!! learning color theory while having the whole rainbow at your disposal is a little overwhelming for me n i just dont really know where to start! thank you,!!!!!!!!!!!!! also sorry if uve been asked this before ehehggh
hello! colors are the most difficult thing to talk about but i’ll try my best!
i totally understand being overwhelmed by colors. it took me a long time to sorta brute force my way into using a wide range of colors. i went thru many phases to get here, like:
the purple wave of 2015
Tumblr media
the graypocalypse of 2016 - late 2017
Tumblr media
and i started my blue phase in 2018! which has just meant starting with a blueish base for 90% of my drawings.
Tumblr media
this really helped me think less about.. what the “right” colors to use might be, and more about just throwing things at the canvas and seeing what happens. seeing how colors react together when they are directly used in a limited space, and not about what the concept in my head might have been.
Tumblr media
i have a wider range now because from experience, im able to anticipate how certain colors will work together. but my process is still very.. “i’ll just see what happens” if that makes sense? lol sorry i feel like this is entirely useless
tldr;
- if youre overwhelmed by colors, limit your palettes for a while
- do studies to understand that colors make little sense in reality, and that all colors are illusions, so you might as well go nuts
- colors are hard. the color section of your brain will get bigger the more you use them
- when in doubt, go with your heart

Bike Life Deep Dive
Recap
I’ve been living the bike life now for almost a year and a half here in downtown Phoenix. After a small fender that busted up my beloved Max (Ford Taurus, very old, no AC, leaking roof, but helpful!) I decided to let him go, and with him, all the trappings of car ownership. For a trial run. I said I would try out the #bikelife for 3-6 months and see how I like it, see how or if I could adjust my lifestyle to it, and whether or not the bike life was overall something of true value for me, both internally and financially.
In my initial #bikelife post last year (Adventures in Not Owning A Car,) I enumerate the various financial benefits and reasons why the bike life was, for me personally, economically savvy. It has still most definitely proven so and I’ve adjusted even more to the lifestyle, having since made further changes and routines that create an easier flow for me. I continue to confess that I know that living this lifestyle is a privilege! I deliberately chose a home close to where I work and I have zero dependents, and my Aunt Barb has lent me her bike indefinitely as long as I live in Arizona (Thanks, Aunt Barb!) Also, for what it’s worth, I am very much an introverted homebody, so I’m not someone who is or constantly needs to be out and about. Thus, relying on Lyft for occasional trips is very within my budget. Also, since most of my social plans are with family or friends and happen relatively close to me, I gratefully take up their offers on rides and happily return the favor with coffee or drinks or gas money. Thus, this entire situation it’s not a life circumstance that most people are in and I know that. I am grateful for this season in my life when I can live this way and in this post, I want to explore and reflect beyond just the financial benefits, because the #bikelife has in many ways enriched my entire experience of the world.
The Nature Connect
The bike life connects me to the natural world. I used to think that Phoenix had pleasant weather pretty much year ‘round….until I began biking in it!!! While Phoenix may not “have weather” frequently, when it does, this place doesn’t mess around! If it’s not pleasant and sunny (which, honestly, it is like 80% of the year,) then it’s either extremely hot and dry reaching temps over 100 for weeks at a time, pouring monsoon-like storms or we are having the coldest winter since 2013! Phoenix doesn’t mess and when it actually allows weather into the Valley, it is always something extreme. But this is actually a positive point here! I have grown to love biking in the all the weathers! I am actually really proud to say that I bike to work in all the seasons here! I bike to work in the Arizona summers, and I bike on the mornings when it’s under 40! If you would have told me two years ago, that I would be biking to my job in under 40 degree weather, and enjoying it, I would not have believed you. But, I actually do enjoy it. Even for this girl who despises being cold generally, the Aliveness I feel each day I get to go outside, feel the weather and experience the Elements on my skin far outweighs any uncomfortable moments of cold hands in January or radiating heat on my neck during July. Biking brings me into the natural world each day, kind of whether I like it or not, and that daily dose of weather, even when it is extreme, is good medicine for my entire being! Its my few minutes of feeling the sun on my face or the rush of the cold. Many times it is the only 30 minutes I am outside on any given day. On some days when I’m just tired of packing my bag, putting on my helmet and going thru the routine, ultimately it’s the connect with nature in Her seasons that pull me through and never really let me down. I arrive to work refreshed and in a better mood, pretty much never fail! (Yes, I have my limits too: for monsoons and over 115 degrees, I use Lyft or call a neighbor, but that is literally under 10x a year!)
Tumblr media

Less Stress
Biking also kind of just simplifies the commute. I have 2 choices each day: bike or walk. Both are relatively simple and low maintenance transportation styles. This season, I *may have* chuckled as I rode by various folks standing by their cars, waiting for them to heat up and melt the frost on their windshield....
In the summer, I ride by parked cars that are humming, as they build up their AC inside, so the owner doesn’t suffocate at 125 degrees upon entrance. In the 10 minutes it takes them to cool down their car, then sit in traffic, I’m having a peaceful bike ride, enjoying nature and arriving at the same time! It’s pretty fantastic most days! I ride by folks with flat tires, fenders, and cars that seem like they probably shouldn’t be cars anymore! I also know the awesome feeling of driving a car without AC here in the desert summer, as well as one that has an ironically leaking roof. In the desert, where one would not think much about rain problems or that a leaky roof would be an issue, it totally sucks during monsoon season! I feel the human with car troubles, believe me! I’ve had them too! However, these are all situations I have left behind and can very simply pedal by and be grateful that I don’t have to deal with or worry about them. Not owning a car just makes the daily commute a lot simpler!

Moving Meditation
I’ve learned I prefer the slower pace of biking and walking to work much more than driving. When I bike or walk to work, once I’m out of my neighborhood, I’m on some major streets where cars are whizzing by in their AC or heated seats, with radio blasting, trying to make it thru the ‘orange’ light! That was me for most of my former driving life, so no judgement here. I was a car owner from age 17-35, so I love a good car dance and I will never turn down heated seats! However, biking and walking are organically a much slower pace. They cause me to notice the plants, the trees, the flowers I pass by daily, and watch them transform through the seasons. Biking and walking allows me to enjoy the songs of the birds and say hello to all the neighborhood pups and kittens. I’m not being sappy here, these are things that truly make me happy. I’ve even noticed how the sun rises and sets at different angles in the sky, as the seasons change, which in some deep way makes me feel more connected to All That Is. On the way home, I get to revel in some of the best views of our Arizona sunsets, as I can linger wherever I want, stop and gaze at the sky and allow myself to be mesmerized by the palette of magenta pinks and fiery oranges. Not to mention inhale the yummy wafts of dinner that swirl through the evening air in Coronado (my eclectic neighborhood!) - Italian garlic and Indian curries are the usual fare! YUM! It’s delightful! These little nuances are imperceptible to the whizzing car with blasting music. The slower pace allows me to tune into the subtler moments, cycles and patterns of life, as well as engage my senses much more, all which for me, enhance my entire experience of the day, and consequently of the seasons in my own life. It is quite literally a moving meditation.
Gratitude
So, how is the bike life going, do I still like it, is it worth it?! Yes, for many reasons! Financially, it definitely is an amazing option that I have in my present situation. But, of even more value, are the daily, small ways that this lifestyle pulls me into the present, allows me to feel Nature into my bones and tunes me into the frequency of the Elements. For me, these consequences are gifts that I did not intend and for which I am daily grateful.

Latest story from https://movietvtechgeeks.com/im-playing-now-among-sleep-fallout-4-far-harbor-still/
What I'm Playing Now: Among the Sleep and Fallout 4 Far Harbor still
This week, I began my island journey through Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC and completed Among the Sleep on the PS4. Let’s take a look at what I’m playing now! Fallout 4 Far Harbor Fallout 4’s biggest expansion to date, Far Harbor, has finally arrived, and things haven’t sailed entirely smoothly thus far. The mixed reviews were interesting before I tried the DLC, but now, the various impressions of critics make sense. To highlight how they make sense, I’ll recap my exact experience (without spoilers) of the downloadable content. I started off completing some of the initially available side missions, but primarily, exploring the island. Perhaps it was the new atmosphere that pulled me in, but in any case, I usually explore areas of Fallout games before completing quests, for the most part. The environment was excellently designed, and barring some minor glitches; I was having a great time; it was awesome to not only find new locations in a Fallout game but also, to learn about Far Harbor itself, which is supported by a rich and intriguing history. The missions up until this point were great as well. The tasks assigned were straightforward, and more pressingly, each of the missions had purpose, and were well-written—not just tacked-on to increase playtime (like, in all honesty, the constant barrage of “your help is needed” settlement quests, which force players to re-explore areas they’ve already cleared out, are). Then, just as I was about to villainize critics who awarded the DLC a low score, it hit me: the godforsaken mini-game that I noticed was identified in most every official review. I won’t mention when this mini-game comes-up, or exactly what it entails, but I will say that it is attached to a main quest; players must progress through this game (or games, more accurately) to complete Far Harbor’s main story. Here’s how it went down: I started this mini-game, found myself completely lost (as the lacking instructions are all audible and not overly helpful, like those of settlements, and I was still trying to understand what the hell was going on while they were being relayed). Grudgingly, I made use of a YouTube guide, not for an answer to this initial puzzle, but to find out what exactly was expected from me; things appeared straightforward enough, and I continued. The mini-game was unorthodox, but still, I wasn’t about to vilify it, given how I am always advocating innovation. I progressed, things were going well, and then, everything stopped. Once again without spoilers, I did everything I needed to complete the game, but the AI simply wouldn’t allow me to progress. I verified this point with videos, reloaded saves, restarted the game, and finally, after a few tries, things function as they should. Nevertheless, after I checked Bethesda’s Twitter, interested in a potential patch, I found that they actually did develop one for the PS4 specifically. Although I eventually made it over this hurdle, it is obviously a massive, massive issue; having difficulty proceeding through a mini-game that completely separates itself from the core title’s mechanics is a surefire way to aggravate fans. I will say, though, that I don’t have a problem with the mini-game itself or Far Harbor as a whole. On the contrary, I was having an excellent time enjoying the island and all that it had to offer before being temporarily glitched-out of progress on the main story. The environment is detailed and thoughtfully designed, the missions are fun, and the characters, in coordination with these other positive elements, seal the deal. Moreover, I believe I know exactly what went wrong with this mini-game (besides making it a requirement to progress through the main story): lacking play testing. The evidence supporting this point is abundant; the mechanics don’t work perfectly (and the AI commonly falters or stops responding), certain areas are difficult to traverse as opposed to being difficult to solve, and perhaps most pressingly of all, the “quit the simulation” message that appears each time one falls off of the map is a MASSIVE annoyance, with really no viable reason for being included. Hopefully, things are worked out soon for other gamers (they will be). This begs the question, though: is it fair for initially present glitches to affect critical reviews? Sure, technical deficiencies shouldn’t be found as a game is released, but if they are repaired in a prompt, professional, and free manner through an update, can they even be considered “detractors”? It’s a difficult question, and its answer is accordingly complex, but in a broad sense, it’s important for players to not underrate Far Harbor because of this deficiency. It’s a well-made, intricate, fun, and entertaining DLC entry in a riveting game, and when it is properly functioning, it stands tall as one of the best downloadable pieces ever made for Fallout—mini-game or no mini-game. With all of this said, that damn quit option adds insult to injury, and has to go. Among the Sleep The less I say here the better, as I believe this unassuming experience is best enjoyed with a blank palette. I bought Among the Sleep during a PSN sale a while back for next to nothing, and after playing, I can say, without hesitation, that the decision was more than worth it. Once again, I’ll work to limit the details, but anyone interested in a horror-esque title with a truly thought-provoking style and writing will have a great (and memorable) time here. Moreover, the game isn’t particularly long and can be completed in a single sitting. Don’t let the lukewarm reviews deter you; if played with an open mind, Among the Sleep will entertain. I’ll be sure to keep up on the future projects of the studio behind the game, Krillbite Studio. I’ll also make a conscious effort to play more than two titles in the coming week, and to also assure that like Among the Sleep, these titles are lesser-known. Enjoy the games!
