Good Stuff: Orion and the Dark
Tumblr media
You know? I remember playing Pajama Sam 1 many moons ago and to this day I find it lovely to play. Great characters, incredible artwork, the differing routes each playthrough which I didn't even realize until then, and the ending which really stuck with me. That what was kept me anticipating Orion and the Dark, as I felt it was that spiritual successor I never knew I wanted. It sucks that Dreamworks dropped this onto streaming like it was nothing, not even on the site they own no less, but I genuinely looked forward to this and that's what matters. Now that it's out, let it be known I can't believe this will be the first Charlie Kaufman film for me. Just saying, any interest in his previous movies is gonna feel like whiplash.
Tumblr media
Just imagining some kid loving Orion & is eventually in awe for a movie called I'm Thinking of Ending Things
To truly start this review, this might be the best kino non-Pixar Pixar movie Dreamsworks ever made. I didn't think of it having the whole "what if X had feelings" factor until now but I actually like that they take it not only in a reasonable direction, but twists the dynamic in a way Pixar honestly hasn't done since... Toy Story 4 I guess? No spoilers, but I enjoyed that Darkness and his entity friends have their insecurities, this is before they all met Orion, and they take that in a very great if offputting direction. Plus I love that they were able to personify these elements I didn't actually think about when it came to night time. They also present the biggest problem with the movie and that's the lack of real camaraderie with the entities and Orion. You enjoy the friendship between the boy and Darkness, but they streamline the bond Orion has with the others and that really makes the story hit or miss depending on if you grow to care about them. I brought up Pixar and yeah, while they have their great individual moments they don't have the same effectiveness dynamic wise as the emotions from Inside Out. Also small nitpick, but I didn't like that Dark's name is "Dark" and not "Darkness"; doesn't roll of the tongue, you know?
Tumblr media
Plus we didn't get Orion and Dark playing Cheese & Crackers like missed opportunity of the year
Now again, this is my first Charlie Kaufman film, but I was familiar with his writing style and I gotta say I loved what he does with the structure of the story. It's a story within a story where as soon as the curtain is pulled, I was fully hooked. I love how Orion essentially helps himself overcome some of his fears both thanks to unexpected but welcomed help and developing his own confidence. It was clever how when you put a face on a fear, that fear slowly fades but the film shows that it's not something capable of a cure. Orion's neuroses dilate thanks to this adventure, he probably wouldn't have lived to tell it if otherwise, but it presents that growing up doesn't mean everything will work out perfectly or immediately. Does it do a lot to get to that point? Yes, but I felt the risks paid off in a way I don't think I've seen before in a story like this. I know as a kid I didn't have constant paralyzing premonitions regarding the worse outcomes imaginable like Orion, but on some level I remember what it's like and how it'll still fester your mind as you get older. This film, pun unintended, gets dark on a personal level and will probably stick with me long after watching it.
Tumblr media
Can't say this scene broke me, but damn did it get close
Orion and the Dark impressed me as something thought-provoking, that does a lot more than being another adapted storybook. Is it an insanely masterful modern Dreamworks movie like Puss in Boots 2? No, even with its great subversions the movie doesn't juggle everything as well as I hoped. Then again, I highly appreciate that this was a risky movie Dreamworks was willing to release, that got both Kaufman and Werner Herzog of all people on board, as opposed to shelving it like some companies I know. A movie that doesn't spell everything out, that gets to be a family movie not constantly upbeat but colorful and optimistic in all the right ways. Orion deserves a chance where I think everyone will have interesting takeaways even if it won't be their favorite Dreamworks film in recent years. I'm overall glad I saw it and kinda want to see it again soon for missed details.

You check your reflection once more, fixing your outfit. You take a deep breath, smiling.
You were a pretty famous streamer, and this was your first time going to Twitchcon, and you were excited nonetheless.
You'd meet some friends for the first time- like Dreamwastaken, GeorgeNotFound, Sapnap, Karl Jacobs, and many more.
When you entered Twitchcon, fans quickly approached you, extremely happy to finally meet you. Soon after, you met some friends, took pictures, and had so much fun.
But, for some reason, you felt..odd.
There was one person you'd been hoping to see. One person that knew how to put a smile on your face.
And that person was Alex Quackity.
He was someone you believed changed your life. Someone you believed changed your life.
You both talked a lot over the phone, and often streamed together too.
You looked around the crowds of people, hoping- wishing- he would show up.
But, now that you thought about it, you were actually quite nervous about the idea of meeting him.
Was he really what you thought he was?
"s/n?" Your thoughts were interrupted.
You turned around, and suddenly, it felt like the world had gone still.
There he stood, wearing a red and blue hoodie, and a grey beanie. He smiled, his eyes creasing upwards. You took note he had a lot more moles than you thought he did.
"Quackity?" You asked, but it sounded more like you were questioning yourself.
He smiled more, clapping his hands together with joy as he giggled. "Its you..! Its really you!" He sounded unbelievably happy to see you.
You opened your arms, giving him a large hug, to which he gladly returned. Quackity exhaled, relaxing into your touch.
"I can't believe you're actually here." He muttered.
"Me too. It feels almost...like a dream." He nodded, pulling away to meet your gaze. His gaze softened, his smile wide. He giggled again, holding your hands, swinging them side-to-side.
"You're really here! I've been so excited to meet you, s/n!"
"I've been excited too! You're so much shorter than I thought."
He playfully dropped your hands, crossing his over his chest. "Thats so rude, y/n." You both laughed.
**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚
It was time for you to return to your hotel room, and Quackity insisted to walk you there. On the way, he would ask you questions, and vice versa. When you both got to your room, he hugged you goodbye. He buried his face in your shoulder, sighing. "Im so fucking happy I got to meet you, y/n. I really am." You smiled, rubbing his back.
"Im happy too, Alex. I was actually kind of nervous, to be honest."
He chuckled. "Aw, do I make you nervous?" You pulled away, hitting his shoulder lightly. "Oh, shut up." He laughed, looking down.
"You know, I was actually nervous too. I was worried you wouldn't show up, or that you wouldn't want to see me. Karl reassured me it would be okay, but I didn't believe him." You watched him, noticing he seemed nervous.
He looked up at you, a huge smile on his face. "He was right. It was more than okay." You smiled, feeling your cheeks get warm. He opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it. Scratching his neck, he smiled bashfully. "Well, I'll let you get some rest. See you tomorrow, y/n."
You smiled, stepping into your room. "Goodnight, Alex."

Dogtooth Isn't A Good Film
Yesterday I logged the original Charlie's Angels onto my Letterboxd. A couple of beers in and watching the original major camp girlboss film. When I was younger, I never had the attention span to be able to sit down and watch an entire film so now I'm a grown adult it means I've been spending the whole time playing catchup with forms of media that I've missed out on. Lots of feelgood films and laughs filled in with binge watching TV shows and exploring the art house genre of film. Watching everything so fast means that I've finally been able to grasp what is good cinema and what is not. Unfortunately, I'm here to tell you all that Dogtooth does not make the cut of good cinema in my eyes.
Dogtooth is one of those films that I've been eyeing up for a little while. I've seen it Mark Kermode's top picks on BFI and I read the synopsis and said to myself, yeah I'm going to watch this. That was 6 months ago. This evening I opened up MUBI to try and find a movie that was different from what I've been watching lately and up comes Dogtooth, a yellow banner across the top reminding me that it leaves the streaming service in less than two weeks. Tonight I was going to make it my mission to finally watch the film.
Tumblr media
I don't really know what I was expecting with this film. At first glance into what the plot was about, it seemed to be one of those movies where the kids all live under one roof, they have controlling parents and that it was going to be rather comedic. Maybe when I think of comedy I think of something that is in your face, silly, a loud = funny type of comedy. This film was actually, and pardon my French, seriously fucked up. Almost to the point that my stomach felt like it was turning for a good while after the abrupt ending credits and silence appeared on my screen. If you were a filmmaker and you were mentally ill, had about 50p in your bank account and a cool film camera that you inherited from one of your dead relatives then this is the type of film I expect to see.
The plot follows three children / teenagers / young adults, it's never really disclosed how old these people are. They are placed into what is a lovely spacious home, they live with their parents, their mother being pretty much a stay at home and their father being the real breadwinner of the house. They are completely isolated from the outside world, unable to leave. So as lovely as this home is, it quickly becomes a beautiful prison cell. The entertainment they are allowed to see in the home is subjected and controlled by the family, i.e only homemade family videos, performances are done by the children, they are not allowed to learn words that are deemed 'unsafe' from their safe space. In fact, the cats are deemed the most cruel creatures of them all.
Despite not liking the film, I think the way in which Yorgos Lanthimos tackles controlling parents is powerful. The way in which the plot for Eldest Daughter is experimented is enticing, it's one of those where no matter how awful the film is you can't turn away. The way in which she grows to rebel against her parents, to become meta in realising that she is being controlled by them. I believe that one of the major domino effects as to why she ended up rebelling the way she did was due to her parents forcibly allowing her to sleep with her own brother. Prior to this, the trio of siblings would spend all their days listening to homemade tapes trying to teach them their own vocabulary. Almost like this movie is supposed to be an extreme way of discussing the concept of home schooling and the major impact that it can have on young people's lives upon entry into the real world.
Tumblr media
Despite the film having one of the all time lowest budgets I have ever seen, the filmography at times was also quite beautiful. Green and yellow hues in the garden and throughout the home indicating the middle of the summer, a time when most young people are out socialising with one another. But it also stays disturbing in nature, the correlation of the film camera creating the idea of perhaps we as the audience are also there. We are in the corner of the living room as the father puts the VHS into the TV and suddenly it's this film that's rolling, and you're there. It creates the idea of if they're living this forced homemade lifestyle then are we also living that same life by consuming this movie?
The mystery of the characters is also really interesting to me. There is only one character who is revealed to have an official name, that person being Christina who is later on denied entry into the families lives after exposing the eldest daughter into the world of cinema. The only time the eldest daughter is ever given any form of name is when she tells the younger daughter that she wanted to be called Bruce. This creating another underlying layer of the exploration of sexuality between the three children as well. Though I don't want to go into much detail about this because of the nature of how it is described.
Truthfully, I think the main reason why I don't like this film is down to its ethical value. Its narrative is doomed and morbid, it ends on an open chapter so you can decide for yourself what happens to the eldest daughter in the exploration of the world. There are many factors in this film that are just left for interpretation, but it doesn't stop me from feeling disturbed and disgusted. I am angry at the parents for raising them in the way that they had, it seems like a living hell and I can sympathise with the eldest daughter for wanting to escape. I am also angry with how all of the characters were written, though I think it was done on purpose. I don't believe any of these characters were written to be liked, rather most of them were written to be plot devices for the eldest daughter. Ethically, gross. Visually, pretty. I give this film 2 stars out of 5.

The Lovestruck~Chapter 23
Tumblr media
(20 February)
8:36 pm
You let out a sigh staring at the view infront of you while sitting on the bench. You had came to your usual place to distract your mind from your thoughts but that didn't seemed to be working.
As you were home after leaving the Café, you started to study as your exams were coming up. However, you couldn't as you felt unmotivated which led you to have several thoughts in mind and they didn't help but demotivated even more.
Wanted to take a walk, you ended up here and at that moment, you got a call from Baekhyun. You tried to sound as fine as you could but as if you were too transparent to him and he instantly understood something was wrong.
Lost in your thoughts, you didn't even hear footsteps from behind until a figure appeared infront of you making you startle. Your eyes looked up only to be locked with familiar soft brown orbs staring at you concern yet warmly.
You stayed still, with his eyes boring into yours making you melt and your heart to welled up. You felt a lump in your throat and instantly gulped before looking down.
You sighed licking your lips and looked up. "I know this is sudden...but...can I hug you?"
His palm went to your cheek caressing it with his thumb as he gave you a soft smile. "You don't have to ask."
You nodded before wrapping your arms around his waist with your face in his stomach and his hand stroking your hair softly making your eyes close and tears streamed down your cheeks.
That was it. You needed a hug. His hug. His warmth. Him. Your favorite person and now your safe place.
Minutes of you weeping and sniffing, you both were sitting beside eachother with Baekhyun's arm draped behind you on the bench with his hand caressing gently on your shoulder.
Baekhyun took a glance at you as you sniffed wiping your remaining tears with your hoodie sleeves. He couldn't help but smile at your red nose and cheeks finding it adorable.
"Feeling better?"
You nodded as you actually felt light after letting it all out.
"Wanna share it?" He asked cautiously and you nodded before taking a deep breath.
"I.. I feel weird. I feel so unmotivated, I have so many assignments to do and exams coming up but I can't bring myself to study and that just left me stressed. What if I fail?"
You felt his hand rubbing your arm as he instantly pulled you close. "Hey, Hey, it's okay. We all have those days, sometimes we get tired and just need a break. So, don't let your thoughts take over your peaceful mind, you are strong enough to pass those days."
"You think so?"
"I know so." He kissed your temple making you smile before looking at him.
"Thank you."
He gave a nod. "Yeah sure, but next time don't bottle it up. Whenever you are struggling or feeling down, you can share it with me, I'm always here."
You stared at him in awe, wondering how did you got this lucky to have him.
Smiling, you nodded. "I know."
"Good." He kissed your nose making you laugh before leaning his forehead against yours and you both closed your eyes enjoying the calm yet comfortable silence.
All of a sudden, your stomach growled making you both flinch and you gasped leaning away before biting your lips as you looked down clutching your stomach.
Baekhyun, who just got out of the shock instantly bit his lower lip grinning at your embarrassed state before standing up.
"Let's go." He held out his hand and you pouted but eventually grabbed it as he made you stand up and led you to his car while trying hard not laugh.
He took you to a restaurant close to your house and you couldn't even wait to full your stomach as the smell of dishes making you more hungry.
As your noodles were served, you instantly began to dig and slurp while Baekhyun kept taking a glance at you worringly.
You were too imersed in eating and didn't realize his lovingly stare on you. He palmed his cheek as he stared at you before chuckling and got your attention.
"What?" You raised your eyebrows questionly while munching.
"I can't believe, you were crying a while ago and now..." He stopped as he nodded your way and you rolled you eyes. "I wasn't crying, okay!"
"Yeah, sure. And you didn't hug me earlier too." He spoke nonchalantly before slurping and you blushed remembering that scene before clearing your throat while stirring the soup as something crossed your mind.
"Ah, my parents want to meet you." You said and he choked on his food.
You passed him the glass of water and he gulped it down while you rubbed his back before biting your lips to suppress your laugh.
"You sure are a killjoy." He wiped his mouth glaring at you playfully and you shrugged smiling.
It's been more than a month to your relationship and with you being all smiley and cheery made your parents too desperate to meet him and Daniel's nonstop praises to Baekhyun weren't helping either.
"It's not my fault, if Dan likes you so much." You crossed your arms. "He's always praising you and only listens to you and sometimes I get jealous too."
He chuckled. "Don't be, I'm all yours anyway."
You rolled your eyes. "Don't twist my words."
"When should I meet them? Your parents?" He asked nervously.
"How about right now?"
"Right now?!"
You laughed. "Chill, I was joking."
He squinted his eyes. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"
You giggled nodding. "Yes, it's so rare to see you like this."
He huffed. "Let's talk when it's your time."
Soon, you went back to home with Baekhyun as he stopped his car infront of your porch. He got out of the car with you and walked towards you before leaning his back against the car while taking your hand.
"Listen, don't think about anything. Take a warm shower and go to sleep early so you can feel better, hm?" He poked your cheek softly and you chuckled nodding.
"Okay, Ajjusshi."
"Yah!"
"What? You think only you can tease me?"
He pouted before nodding. "Okay, then, I won't bring that up and you do the same, hm?"
"Fair enough." You nodded. "Now go before you have to deal with my mum."
He chuckled pinching your nose causing you scrunch your nose and he imitated your expression before walking to the driving seat but you stopped him.
He looked at you confusingly before you tiptoed grabbing his nap to pull him down and kissed his cheek. "Drive safely, Ajjusshi."
You made a face before giggling and sprinted towards your home leaving the stunned Baekhyun behind. As soon as he recovered, his hand went to cheek and he chuckled shaking his head.
"Gosh, I love her!"

(21st February)
1:23 pm
Next day, you and Ria went to a restaurant close to your college as you decided to eat outside making your bestfriend confused as ever, since it was the first time you asked to go out.
"Y/n, tell me seriously?" Ria questioned crossing her arms as she eyed you suspiciously and you gave a shrug avoiding her gaze.
"What? I just wanted to eat outside. Is it that hard to believe?" You took a sip from your orange juice before giving her a smile.
She scoffed. "Yes."
You clicked your tongue rolling your eyes before you got a weird feeling and instantly threw your head back to see Baekhyun's face, looking down at you.
"Oh? How did you know I was here?" He asked surprised and you shrugged before he pecked your temple and took a seat beside you.
Ria watched the scene smilingly before her gaze went behind you to see Chanyeol coming towards the table. She suddenly felt nervous as he took a seat beside her before smiling at her.
You and Baekhyun exchanged looks with each other before ordering and getting imersed in the conversation. While between the talks, Baekhyun kept taking a sip from your orange juice and when you offered him to drink it all, he refused but then continued to take sips.
As you all finished your meal, Baekhyun excused himself to the washroom and you continued your conversation with them. You also took the chance to observe the pair infront of you who seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Baekhyun walked out but stopped when he spotted a guy other side of your table, scribbling something and gave it to the waiter before pointing towards you.
His blood boiled and he walked faster to the waiter and stopped him before taking a look at the paper. He scoffed lowly reading it as the guy was asking your number.
Taking the pen from the waiter, he scribbled something down the paper before pointing it to give back to the guy.
The guy was imersed in his phone to notice until the waiter gave him the paper back and he expectantly opened the paper only to get confused.
She is taken
He looked towards your table to see you with Baekhyun who instantly locked eyes with him and shot a intimated gaze at him causing him to look away awkwardly.
"Shall we leave?" Baekhyun asked you and you nodded before standing up and Ria looked at you both confusingly.
"What? Where are you going?"
"We have to be at Café, so we're leaving." Baekhyun said wrapping his arm around your waist. "Chanyeol will drop you off."
You controlled your laugh at seeing Ria's expression but you wanted to do this as Chanyeol and Ria needed to have a talk. Hence, you and Baekhyun decided to be cupids for them.
"Yeah, i'll drop you off." Chanyeol smiled at her before sending a smirk towards Baekhyun which got unnoticed by you as your eyes were on your bestfriend.
You waved at them as you exited the restaurant not before Baekhyun throwing a glance to the guy who awkwardly coughed before looking away.
"Are they going to be okay?" You asked him as soon as you were out.
"Don't worry, Chanyeol's gonna take care of it and your bestfriend is in safe hands." He gave you a assuring smile which you returned but then felt his stare.
"What?"
"You must have got confessions a lot and crushes too."
"Huh? Suddenly?" You frowned. "Well, not really because back then I was too naive to notice and about crushes..."
"I know, that Big Boss and Siwon, whatever his name was." He rolled his eyes and you chuckled at his adorable jealously.
"If we're talking about crushes," You crossed your arms over your chest. "Then I do remember Chanyeol Sunbae telling me about your high school crush."
"Oh.. That..." He rubbed his nap before smiling sheepishly."It was just a tiny bit crush, nothing serious."
You nodded giving him the exact smile and he chuckled. "Okay, we have to go."
"Come on! Coffee bean, let's go!" Baekhyun stretched out his hand for you and you squinted your eyes before grasping it.
"Stop calling me that!"
He laughed locking his arm around your neck to pull you by his side. "Why? It suits you."
You groaned rolling your eyes and started walking with him before his eyes stopped at a Café and a sigh left his lips making you look at him.
"Graduation is approaching and I will have to officially start my work and maybe stop working in the Café." He leaned the side of head over yours. "But I will miss you."
You bit your lip thinking about the days without him at the Café. Sensing your silence, he lifted his head up to see the expression which he never want to see.
"Don't be sad." He tilted his head and you looked into his eyes. "We will see eachother and think about it, if I don't work how will we feed our little beans, hm?"
Your brows knitted in confusion but then your eyes widened and you immediately slapped his chest playfully but he caught your hand and laughed.
"Wait, who said I'll marry you?" You raised your brows looking at him with smug expression.
He let out a dramatic gasp. "I didn't know you were that bold to have kids withoutmm-"
You cupped his mouth giving him a glare which he seemed unfazed about before you felt his lips kissing your palm bringing heat to your face and you instantly pulled your hand away.
"You're such a pervert!"
"Umm." He nodded. "Your pervert. And you're stuck with this pervert forever. So deal with it."
You walked back to your college with your thoughts about him leaving. And you already started missing him.
Meanwhile at the restaurant, two people were now sitting in an awkward silence until Chanyeol chuckled.
"You don't have to feel stiff around me, you know?" He smiled at Ria which made her relaxed.
"I know you are confused about this but actually I asked them to give us a space so I could say what I wanted to say." He said rubbing his thighs nervously.
Ria licked her lips nervously with her heart beating fast than ever. "What do you want to say?"
"I won't beat around the bush." He cleared his throat before taking a deep breath. "Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Ria choked on her saliva at his straightforward question causing her to blush and Chanyeol chuckled. "Did I surprise you?"
She smiled shyly nodding as they both exchanged a loving eye contact and that was a new start of their journey.

8:01 pm
"Y/n, take the big Cart."
You heard your mom saying when you were shoving your car keys in your pocket and frowned but nodded as you grabbed the trolley before walking further into the store.
You were here with your mom at the grocery store to shop as the minute she heard about Baekhyun coming tomorrow to meet them, she started her preparation while you just mentally shook your head.
"Mum, why are you so excited for?" You questioned as you both stopped by a vegetable section.
"Why wouldn't I be? My one and only daughter who was never interested having any boyfriend, got a boyfriend for herself and you want me to just sit still?"
She gave you a duh face and you gave her a poker face before rolling your eyes. Well, she wasn't wrong though.
"Let's not buy too much cucumbers, just for our face masks."
"Why? I'm gonna make salad tho."
"Yeah, but no cucumbers because Baekhyun doesn't eat cucumber." You picked few cucumbers and put them in the trolley. "And not too spicy food."
You looked at her to see her smiling at you causing you raise your eyebrows confusingly. "Why?"
"My daughter just sounded like a wife material and this is such a miracle." She exaggerated dramatically and you blushed at the wife word but then shook your head.
"I'm gonna check that section." You said walking away and she laughed giving you a light slap on the arm causing you wince slightly.
It wasn't hard slap but you were already slapped hard by your bestfriend after knowing about your little cupid plan about her but at the same time, you were happy to know that your plan did work as she has started dating Chanyeol.
You walked to the opposite direction and looked for some chocolates before unconsciously glancing over to the side to see an elder woman walking speedily with her trolley only to get bumped into a lady's trolley.
The lady flinched and looked at her surprised before making a distance between them. The elderly lady looked at her furiously.
"Can't you make space for others to pass by?"
Rude. Instead of apologizing, she's blaming her.
The lady scoffed. "Excuse me? I'm standing at the right side, you were the one passing by without looking anywhere."
"Now, you are blaming me? Instead of apologizing?" She spoke loudly getting the attention of the other people.
You scoffed rolling your eyes and getting fed up with her behavior and decided to jump in.
"Excuse me? Ma'am." You spoke and their head snapped towards you before giving the rude lady your tight polite smile. "I think you should just apologize."
"Listen young lady, this is not your concern so just leave."
"I think it is my concern since i have seen everthing." You snapped at her with a calm voice and her face dropped but then she instantly smirked. "Who's going to believe you?"
"They don't have to but they'll believe that CCTV over there." You pointed at the Camera witnessing the scene before looking back at her with a sarcastic smile. "Should we check that?"
The rude lady scoffed before blinking and tried to turn away but you instantly stopped her. "Aren't you going apologize?"
She shot you a glare and you looked at her unfazed before she looked at the lady. "Sorry."
With that she walked away and people also went their way.
"Such a strange lady." You and the other lady said in unison and looked at eachother amazed before smiling.
"Thank you, young lady." She smiled at you and you returned it. "No worries, ma'am."
"Y/n!" You heard your mom behind and saw her coming towards you before she stared at you and the lady. "Did you cause trouble again?"
You gave her a seriously face and the lady standing with you chuckled before looking at your mom. "No no, she actually helped me. You have such a nice daughter."
You blushed but smiled and your mom nodded towards her before she asked something you weren't expecting her to.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Eh?"
She chuckled. "Ah sorry. I just wanted to know generally."
You mom smiled. "Yes, she has a boyfriend and we're meeting him tomorrow."
You looked at your mom weirdly as she just started talking freely with her and the lady nodded before you both bid goodbye to her.
The lady sighed. "Ah, what a lucky guy would he be to have her as a girlfriend. Wish my Hyun also can get a girlfriend like her."
She turned around to walk away from there and met Kyungsoo who was helping her with somethings before exiting the store.
You went home and got a surprise to see Jae sitting on the couch with Daniel and your dad. Apparently, his training was over and now he's going to join dad's business which means goodbye to Scotland.
You were happy to know this because after Ria, Jae was the person whom you could talk about your feelings freely and he was the first one to know about your relationship too.
Indeed it was a surprise, a good one but little did you know, that another surprise was waiting for you.
***
Coming inside to his Baekhyun's share apartment, Mrs Byun saw him and his friends playing with his nephew and niece. She walked in the kitchen with Kyungsoo helping her putting the bags on the counter with Jongdae and Minseok and joined them.
Baekhyun walked inside the with his niece in his arms and made her sit on the counter before giving her a strawberry which they just bought before taking a bite of it too.
"You called me earlier saying you are done but you are coming now?" Minseok questioned putting the vegetables in the fridge and Kyungsoo sighed.
"Don't even ask." Mrs Byun started as she began to make some tea. "There was this rude lady who started arguing with me out of nowhere."
Baekhyun's ears perked up upon hearing this. "What? Why? What did you do then?"
"Of course I didn't back away but then a young girl helped me." She smiled. "She was such a smart girl but she had a boyfriend."
Baekhyun shook his head. "Eomma, you really need to stop this plus I have a girlfriend already."
Mrs Byun's eyes widened. "What?!"
Baekhyun nodded nonchalantly. "Umm and i'm meeting her parents tomorrow."
Baekhyun's nephew who was in Chanyeol's arms almost slipped from his embrace hearing that but instantly tightened his grip on him.
"Yah! Aren't you going too fast?"
"What are you talking about? It's just a casual meeting since they want to meet me." He told them and talking about it just made him nervous suddenly.
"You have a girlfriend yet you didn't tell us?" Mrs Byun asked him.
"I told you."
"When?"
"Just now."
He smiled playfully and winced in pain when Mrs Byun pulled his ear hardly causing the kids to giggle cutely at the sight while Boys showed no reaction and continued their task as it wasn't something new to witness.
"Whatever, let's have dinner but i want details later." She demanded and Baekhyun nodded rubbing his ear which turned red as his strawberry in his hand which he ate it immediately.
As everyone walked out of the kitchen leaving Kyungsoo and Mrs Byun inside, Baekhyun got stopped by the Boys snickers and shot them a confuse look.
"Hyung, you have to do well tomorrow." Sehun spoke. "If not, forget Junior Y/n forever."
Baekhyun scoffed. "You think i'll be scared of that? I'll be fine."
They all nodded giving him raising their fist in the air as a fighting cheer to him before snickering. Baekhyun who just shook his head and went to his room for a shower as the nervous he already was, his friends made it even worse.
On the other hand, you walked into your room after all the chattering with your family and checked your phone to 2 missed calls and few messages from Baekhyun.
You frowned but then dialed back his number to call him.
Mrs Byun walked in Baekhyun's room and heard the showering sound from the bathroom and took the chance to change his bedsheets.
Not long before, she heard Baekhyun's phone ringing and told him about it which she got a reply from him to check it.
Sighing, she grabbed his phone and checked the caller ID only to get confused by the contact name on it.
"Coffee Bean?" She mumbled confusingly before answering it and pushed it to her ear.
"Hello." You spoke and frowned when he didn't say anything back while Mrs Byun was confused as hell but understood who the girl was.
She cleared her throat. "Hello?"
Your eyebrows crashed together hearing a female voice and checked if have dialed the right number and it indeed was right before pushing your phone back to your ear.
"Who's this?" You asked cautiously.
"I'm Baekhyun's mother."
Your phone almost slipped from your hand but you clutched it tightly before covering the phone with your hand. You eyed the phone shockingly and puffed out your cheeks before taking a deep breath and gulped.
"Hello, Mrs Byun." You greeted her politely though your heart was banging loudly against your chest. "I had something to talk to Baekhyun but it's okay it can wait. Sorry if I bothered you."
Mrs Byun smiled. "No no, you didn't. Don't mind it. Actually Baekhyun is in the shower, so I'll tell him to call you after."
"Yes, no problem. Then have a good night." You said and hearing a same reply from him, you hung up and the phone slipped out of your hand landing on the bed. Thankfully.
Baekhyun walked out drying his hair with the towel and saw his mother smiling looking at her phone and seeing that he approached her.
"Who was it?"
"Your Coffee Bean." She handed him the phone before fixing the pillows properly on its place and Baekhyun looked at her shook.
"She is your girlfriend right?"
Baekhyun smiled nodding before chuckling. "She must have freaked out."
Mrs Byun smiled. "Well, she sounded polite and nice too. How is she like?"
"She's incredible." Baekhyun didn't even took a second to reply and seeing that Mrs Byun just shook her head before smiling at him.
"I guess, she must be as you have been happier since the day you have visited us." She approached him and made him sit on the bed before she began to dry his hair with the towel.
"All we want to see you is happy and seeing you this happy, is enough for me." She smiled before laying the towel around the chair and Baekhyun grinned shyly flipping his hair back out of habit.
"So? When will you introduce her to us? I really can't wait to meet her." She said turning around. "By the way, what's her name?"
Baekhyun chuckled. "Y/n. And I'll introduced her to you soon but tomorrow I have to be introduced to her family."
She nodded folding her arms and approached him with a understanding smile. "I know you must be nervous already. And it's normal since you're meeting her parents as you want to make a good impression. So just be yourself."
Baekhyun nodded and Mrs Byun was walking out but stopped at the door frame and looked back at him. "I want every detail at the dining table."
Baekhyun laughed and then Mrs Byun said something before going down which left him blushing.
"I wonder when will I see my grandkids."
"Eomma!"
He pouted before someone crossed his mind and took his phone before dialing the number.
You were walking back and forth in your room while biting your thumb nail nervously and having a bucket of thoughts before you jumped when your phone rang and saw it was Baekhyun.
You carefully pushed the phone to your ear and kept mum not wanting to take a risk then heard a deep chuckle on the other side making you sigh in relief.
"What do I do? Ah! Seriously! I just talked to your mother. Oh God! What should I do now?!" You whined, ranting nonstop and Baekhyun smiled already imagining you stomping your foot cutely.
Oh, How much he wanted to see that scene.
"Y/n, relax." He said making your babbling to stop. "She likes you and wants to meet you too."
"Me? Right now?!"
He laughed. "No, dummy but don't you think this feels kind of familiar?"
You frowned but then flashback of your conversation at the restaurant crossed your mind and you gasped.
"Dejavu." You both blurted out in unison and Baekhyun chuckled confusing you.
"Karma really works fast in our case." He uttered and you could imagine him smirking causing you roll your eyes.
"Whatever, I'm going down." You huffed and he laughed at his whiny girlfriend before hanging up and you chuckled.
Then your door burst opened flinching you and there was standing a devil at the door frame, Jae.
"Haven't you heard about knocking?"
He shrugged plopping on your bed. "This is my house, why do I have to knock? I heard your boyfriend is coming tomorrow."
You frowned seeing his evil smirk. "Don't you dare pick on him."
He looked at you amused. "Oooh, already protective huh? Let me tell this to everyone."
With that he got up and ran out of your room with you chasing him down.
"Jae! No!"
Life surely becomes an entertainment when you have annoying brothers and a boyfriend who doesn't leave a chance to tease you but were you complaining? No, because at the same time, you loved this.

(askpokemoncrossover)Amber @ Loki: The shiny braixen saw Akira vanishing with a depressed look on his face before she stopped at the taur at least six feet away from bowing apologetically. "Sorry about him, Loki... He's still new when it comes to communicating or interacting with others. Before my brother saved Akira from himself, he was living alone... isolated from people and pokemon. You can imagine what it's like, right? Being alone and having no one else to turn to for so long, it'll be impossible to trust anyone." She then felt the presence of another, like someone's still watching them and saw the arrow that was about to hit the legendary psychic type out of the corner of her eye and started to look around. "H-hey, you did say you have an over-protective daughter... Bijoux, right? Can you ask her to restrain herself when a lucairo in a green jumpsuit comes along? That's my brother, Sai. He told me that he'll meet you after recovering from the hospital..." The braixen asked before she muttered something under her breath: "Jeez... still can't believe that big brothers do stupid things sometimes..."
Loki's tail twitched impatiently at Amber as the Braixen greeted her, but she bowed in return nonetheless. Knowing that she knew Akira closely caused her to be a little wary of the newcomer. However, she would keep an open mind.
"Mmm," Loki rumbled, ears flickering. "I understand that better than you'd think. I've had my fair share of... shall we call it, isolation. Though, that was mostly forced on myself. And the trust... again, far closer a hit to home than you'd guess." She gazed back at the dogwood briefly. "Look, I'll level with you, dear. I'm not holding things against Akira. He didn't make a great first impression, but he's not on my permanent hit list."
Loki paused as Amber brought up her daughter.
"Yes, Bijoux-"
"Would be me," a familiar voice interrupted.
A shiny Cinccino-taur strode confidently through the nearby brush. She wore a green academic uniform over her front, emblazoned with an "H" emblem on the left chest area. She wore a black bowtie around her neck over the scarf fur, and a black plaid skirt over her hindquarters. Long, flowing white fur billowed from her forehead, wrapping behind her and back around her neck in dual Cinccino scarves, with a matching level of fluff and ivory hues on her tail. Little freckles dotted over her nose and cheeks, as well as the edges of her ears. She was certainly cute-looking and smaller than her mother, standing roughly four-five. She stood next to the Braixen with a headtilt, her gaze softening.  She had a longbow tucked beneath her right shoulder, glasses resting on her muzzle in front of a pair of blue eyes.
"Please forgive me," the normal-type explained, bowing her head. "Those were simply warning shots. I'm not going to actually hit anyone with an arrow... well, not right away, anyway."
"Bijoux." Loki stepped forward, her hand held out as she flexed her fingers. "The bow."
"Mom, I was just... no, nevermind. You're right, I'm sorry." Bijoux passed the equipment over to her mother, who held it with both hands. "I know the rules... no shooting at strangers."
"Yes. You know better." Loki's tail swished with a hint of disappointment. "You're putting way too much pressure on yourself to be a little guardian, and while I cherish you and will always be grateful for that, it's my job to protect you, not the other way around. I would never ask you to take on such a massive task at your age.
"But Mom-"
"No buts, darling." The Leafeon's eyes narrowed as she interrupted her daughter. "I spent my late teens and early twenties being almost nothing but a guardian. I finally just gave up after I got exiled from the old forest and moved here with my kids to White Forest. I realized I was forcing way too much on myself, way too early. I wasn't ready to take on that responsibility. Even now, protecting our grove... I still have my doubts. I don't want you making that same mistake."
Bijoux paused for a few moments, pondering everything Loki had shared with her. Then, in a quick burst of energy, she strode over and hugged her mom, prompting the larger taur to let out a bashful purr of contentment.
After a moment, Loki grabbed Bijoux in a giant bear hug, causing the smaller taur's eyes to narrow and her body to go slightly limp. A few tears streamed down Loki's eyes, and she sniffled sadly.
"I can't believe how fast my little girl's growing up. Mentally, physically... and you're leaving the forest for Harmonia. I'm gonna miss my little girl so much."
"Mom." Bijoux grouchily fidgeted in her mother's grips, her giant ears twitching. "Mom, people are watching, stop." Several Pokemon had gathered at the scene, curious to see what was causing the commotion.
"Sorry." Loki let Bijoux out of her grasp, leaning in to sneak a little noselick on the taur's chin. "Arceus, seven hundred years later I still get all emotional when one of my babies leaves the nest."
"Mom, Harmonia University is just over in Castelia City. You go there all the time anyway; you'd probably stop by like, every single day between floral runs and Casteliacone shopping." The Cinccino brushed her taurhalf with her hands with a quiet smirk.
"Oh, I won't be there every day..." Loki protested. "Just enough of them to embarrass you."
"Mom!!!!" Bijoux leaned up and lightly shoved her mother's left flank with her left hand. "You're awful."
"Hey, did you forget that another part of my job as a mom is to be a pain in your rump? You'll laugh about this by the time you graduate, and the instant you're off doing science stuff in some other region, you'll miss me ribbing you about stupid stuff... just you wait." Loki grinned playfully, giving Bijoux's taurbody a little hip check with her own. "Now, come on. I need to check and make sure you packed everything and see you to the forest edge."
"You're not gonna go to Castelia with me?"
"What?" Loki guffawed with a tailwag. "No, silly, I'm going to stop at the forest's edge, bawl about my baby growing up and milk this for all it's worth! Gonna get half the forest watching you walk off consoling your dear old mother as she proves how much she loves you!"
"MOM!!!!" Bijoux folded her arms across her chest and pouted.
"Hey, I told you, it's part of my job! You just wait until you've got kids and you're doing the same thing to them... you'll love it. Now, up, come on. We need to get moving if you're going to beat the sunset to Castelia." Loki handed the longbow back to Bijoux. "Put this in the shed. I'll keep it safe for you. I’ll be checking; I don’t see it and I’m taking apart those suitcases one by one until I find it."
Bijoux accepted the bow and nodded furiously, scampering off into the distance.
Loki turned back toward Amber with an apologetic gaze. "Sorry, we'll have to rain check things for a bit. As far as this Lucario, Sai... by the time he gets here, I sincerely doubt there'll be any arrows coming for him."

*Alvey is probably OOC, because I haven't actually watched the show Kingdom, but I hope you enjoy it anyways.
----
"Baby wait!" Jay called out chasing after (Y/n) as she stormed out of the house, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Fuck you Jay!" She hollered over her shoulder, slapping him across the face when he pulled her arm back. "I loved you, I trusted you!" She sniffled trying to choke back her tears. "And you broke my heart." She muttered before leaving. He didn't try stopping her, her words were like a dagger to the heart. Tears began to well in his eyes as he thought about how bad she must be feeling, his breath quivering when he realized he may never gat her back.
*BANG BANG BANG*
"I'm coming I'm coming!" Alvey called out to whomever was banging on his door, a little annoyed that someone was there unannounced. "(Y/n)?" Alvey frowned holding the door open, looking at her tear stained face in confusion and concern. "What did my son do this time?" He growled pulling her into his chest, coddling her as she began weeping again. "He cheated on me Al." (Y/n) cried into his shirt, her hands grasping the sides of the garment tightly. "He did what?" Alvey growled holding her face in his hands, looking her in the eyes. "He was with some tramp Al, he was fucking some whore behind my back!" Her lip quivered as she spoke, a fresh wave of tears falling from her eyes. "Oh baby." Alvey cooed in a comforting way, pulling her back into his chest. "Come inside honey, come on." He ushered her inside kicking the door shut with the heel of his foot, refusing to let her go. "Jump sweetie." He instructed pulling her up into his arms, wrapping her legs around his hips when she jumped. "It's okay I've got you." Alvey whispered into her hair walking her to his bedroom, where he gently laid her down on his bed.
"I've got you now sweetie, forget that asshole." Alvey muttered tucking a stray hair behind her ear, laying beside her face to face on his bed. "I gave him my heart Al, and he fucking threw it away." (Y/n) sniffled through her sorrow, while Alvey toyed with her hands soothingly. "He never deserved you baby." He wiped her tears away, before kissing her forehead. "I trusted him." (Y/n) whimpered softly. "I know." Alvey pulled her back into his chest, now laying on his back with her on top of him. "Al?" (Y/n) sniffled looking up into his eyes. "Yeah honey?" He whispered stroking her cheek with his thumb. "Why are you always so sweet on me? I know you and Jay have your differences, but he's your son, and you've always sided with me and not him." She frowned a little trying to understand the man before her. "Because I love you (Y/n), I have since I first laid eyes on you. But I respect you enough to not say anything or act on it while you were with Jay." Alvey answered her truthfully, his words stunning her momentarily. "I think I love you too..." (Y/n) admitted while chewing on her lip. "You've always been in the back of my mind, but I pushed those thoughts away because of Jay." She whispered a blush of embarrassment fanning her cheeks. Whatever doubts or anxiety she had quickly washed away when Alvey pulled her into a kiss. A fire igniting within them as she deepened the kiss, moaning against his tongue.
"We shouldn't." (Y/n) whispered pulling away from Alvey, only for him to catch her arm a lay her back against his chest, brushing his thumb across her cheek. "Why because of Jay?" He frowned his chest tightening painfully. "No because it isn't right." (Y/n) turned away focusing her attention on the wall. "You felt that spark, I know you did. You can't deny what we've got (Y/n). Give me a chance, and I'll make you the happiest woman alive." Alvey gently turned her head to face him, kissing her with as much passion as he could manage. "Please." He rasped against her lips. "Let me love you the way you deserve." He moaned kissing along her jaw, his hands roaming her body shamelessly. "Al." (Y/n) moaned as he nipped at the sensitive spot on her neck, tangling her fingers into his hair. "(Y/n)." He groaned as she subconsciously grinded down into him. "Love me." She whispered her initial thoughts of doubt washing away, with passion and need. "Always." Alvey murmured against her lips before kissing her, slowly pulling her shirt off. His heart hammering in his chest at the sight of her bare breasts.
⚠️A little smut⚠️
"You're incredible." Alvey gasped out in awe at the sight of her, slowly running his hands up her sides. Looking to her for confirmation before touching her intimately, groping her breasts with care when she nodded her head yes. "So beautiful." He muttered before sitting up to kiss her again, chuckling against her lips as she pulled at his shirt. Only pulling away from the kiss to remove his shirt, pulling her back into him by her ass as he locked their lips once more. "Alvey." (Y/n) cooed tugging at his belt, desperate for him to remove his jeans. "Fuck." He groaned as she grinded into him, kissing down his neck as he worked on his belt.
Flipping them over after unbuckling his belt, Alvey pecked (Y/n)'s lips then stood from the bed. Removing his jeans, then helping (Y/n) with her pants, smirking at the sight of her black lace panties. "Fuck." Alvey groaned as (Y/n) spread her legs to reveal that her panties were crotchless, making him paw at his still clothed cock. "I need you Al." (Y/n) moaned her right hand slipping between her thighs, playing with herself. "God I fucking love you." He breathed out crawling back onto the bed, resting himself between her legs. "Fuck me." She bit her lip seductively. Running her hands down his back, and into his boxers, squeezing his ass playfully. "Anything for you." Alvey chuckled sliding his boxers off, letting his cock rest against her clit, teasing her. "Please." (Y/n) pouted thrusting her hips up for a little friction, moaning softly as he rutted against her. "Ready?" Alvey brushed her hair back with one hand as he lined himself up. "Yes." (Y/n) smiled pulling him down for a kiss as he eased into her, the both of them moaning into each other's mouths as he bottomed out. "Don't hold back." (Y/n) whispered tugging Alveys bottom lip between her teeth, gasping when he began trusting into her mercilessly.
⚠️Smuts over⚠️
---A few days later---
"(Y/n) will you answer the door?" Alvey called out after a series of knocks rung through the house. "Sure thing." She called back as she approached the door, having already planned on answering it. "Jesus Christ so it's true." Jay scoffed rolling his eyes at the sight of (Y/n) answering his fathers door. "Jay what are you doing here?" (Y/n) frowned crossing her arms. "So you leave me and start fucking my dad?" Jay growled pushing passed (Y/n) and into the house, looking for his father. "Fuck you Jay you were the one that cheated on me!" (Y/n) hollered slamming the door closed behind her, then shoving her way passed her ex. "Were you fucking him before you left me?" Jay accused grabbing her arm and turning her to face him. "Let go of me!" (Y/n) growled ripping her arm out of his grasp, her back colliding with Alveys chest. "Don't fucking touch her." Alvey glared down his son, wrapping a protective arm around (Y/n). "How long have you been fucking my girlfriend!?" Jay shouted at his father. "Not until you fucked up, and she became your ex. You had your chance with her, and you threw it away for someone else. Now get out of my house." Alvey warned gently tugging (Y/n) to stand behind him. "I can't believe you... Fuck you, fuck the both of you." Jay shouted angrily before storming out of the house. "Are you okay?" Alvey asked turning his attention to (Y/n). "Yeah I'm okay." She offered him a reassuring smile, giggling when he kissed her with that same fiery passion.

The Nunz: Chapter 1
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far, far, far, far away, there was a church. This church was far different from an ordinary church. If one were to pass by, they probably would have never expected it to be a church. The appearance of the building seemed very old and rundown. Most were surprised that there were people still living in it. Though it was still very active. The yard and the greenery was indeed a very beautiful sight to see. The pond was perfectly clean where fish and many other small creatures were able to swim freely. The grass was perfectly cut and the flowers began to bloom. Which meant that spring was beginning to come.
Despite the beautiful sight of everything, Alyssa Nelson hated this place. It made her sick to her stomach just to look at it. She despised the way that the building looked. She felt that she would be living under terrible conditions during her stay at this place. If she could go back in time, she would have tried to convince her mom to not even think about sending her to this place that she believed was so horrid. She observed who she assumed were humans wearing silver masks and all black outfits playing a game of football with one another. She believed that they looked intimidating and already decided that she wanted nothing to do with them.
"Mom, do I really have to do this?" Alyssa asked her mom as she turned to look at the older version of herself.
"Yes, it's for your own good." Mrs. Nelson replied to her eighteen year old daughter. Alyssa shook her head.
"But I'm eighteen years old. I shouldn't have to go to rehab." She disagreed.
"It's not rehab. It's an alternative program for you to better yourself. And I am sending you here because you are eighteen. I don't want you to go down the wrong path and end up dead when you're twenty. That's my worst fear." Mrs. Nelson explained. Alyssa could hear the worry in her mother's voice and that made her feel extrmely uneasy.
"They always say that one time won't hurt, but that could not be further from the truth. I want you to better yourself. Just give this place a chance, Alyssa." Her mom said. This was the last time she could convince her child that this was what was best for her. The only response that her daughter gave was to roll her eyes and get out of the vehicle. At this point she knew that she no longer had a choice. All hope was lost for her. She popped the trunk open and began to get all of her belongings out with the help of her mother. Luckily, Alyssa was able to carry it all with both of her hands.
Meanwhile, a girl the same age as Alyssa was still sitting in the car in front of them. She observes the entire area. She admires the beauty of it all. But hates the fact that she has to be here with a passion. Like Alyssa, she felt that she had done nothing wrong. Or at least nothing horrible to where she needs to be here. Her father stared at the spitting image of himself in disgust. He most definitely believed that she deserved to be here. He wanted her to change. He just didn't want the responsibility of helping her to change.
"I hope that you get something out of however long you need to be here. So that you will never do what you did again." He told his daughter in a stern tone. She didn't mind him talking to her in this tone at all. In fact, she wanted to get out of the car so that she could get the hell away from him.
"Alright, later dad." Were this girl's departing words from him. She stepped out of the car and slammed the door to the passenger seat just to spite her father. She opens the back seat of the car and starts to take out each trash bag containing her belongings one at a time. The attention of those who are outside is now on her. Not a single one of those ghouls could take their eyes off her. Some were admiring her beauty. Others were judging by the way that she carried herself. Fire, the smallest ghoul of them all, could not help but to laugh. He did his absolute best to hide it by pretending to cough, and clearly that did not work. His best friend Aether shook his head.
"Dew, Don't laugh, it's not funny." Aether criticized. However, Fire just could not find the strength to stop.
"I can't help it!" Fire almost screamed and began to become hysterical. Those around him could see the tears of laughter streaming down his eyes.
"I really don't get it. She couldn't just ask somebody if she could borrow a suitcase?" Rain commented.
"I bet you she's too poor!" Swiss said. All of the ghouls looked at each other and began to laugh in unison. Fire was right, it indeed was very comical.
The other girl made it to the front of the convent without her father. She wanted to do this alone. It was also too late to want her father with her, he had already driven off. There was no turning back from here. She was officially stuck. Both Alyssa and her mother stare at the girl. Regardless of them judging her, she gave them a smile. Before anybody could say anything, the door opened to reveal a petite aging woman who had long gray hair that was tied back. Though she was aging, she was still very pretty and presented herself very professionally.
"Hello. I'm Sister Imperator, and I'm the director of this institution." The older woman introduced herself. She held out her hand to Mrs. Nelson first. They both shook hands and Sister gave her a smile. This smile was almost too nice. It had the potential to be deceptive.
"Hi, I'm Adele and this is my daughter Alyssa." Mrs. Nelson introduced the two of them. Sister Imperator then shook Alyssa's hand giving her that same smile and turned to the other girl.
"I'm Star. Nice to meet you." The other girl was finally able to reveal the name that she had given to herself just before being here. Sister Imperator furrowed her brows.
"I'm sorry, there has to be a mistake of some sort. I didn't get the name of Star in anyone's paperwork." She stated out of confusion. Star had to think of an answer. She couldn't stand her real name and believed that now was her chance to get away from it.
"Ok, that's just my nickname. If you read my paperwork thoroughly, you would know that my real name is fucking awful. So please, just call me Star." The young girl practically begged. The only instant response that Sister could give was to nod after she shook her hand.
"I understand completely. My real name isn't all that great either. But anyways, it is nice to meet you all. We are so happy to have you join us. Come inside and I'll show you around the convent before we make any final decisions." She said and reentered into her own home. All three of the other women followed her inside. All of their expectations of what this place was going to be were now gone. The interior of this place was absolutely stunning. The entire place was brightly lit due to the row of crystal chandeliers. The pillars surrounding the second floor looked as if they were just built in. The checker printed tiled floor was probably just cleaned minutes before they entered.
Sister Imperator showed them every inch of the inside of the building. From the cafeteria that was empty at the moment, but it was a very clean place. She also showed them an example of the rooms which they are going to be staying in. The king sized beds made both girls tired just by the sight of them. They did not have to lay in them to know that they were extremely comfortable. Even their bathrooms were very luxurious. However, nothing could beat the chapel. This entire area of the large building was the most beautiful of them all. The stain glass windows reflected many colors into the room and behind the altar was a large cross. Alyssa and Star had never seen a crucifix so big in their lives.
"As you all can tell, we are a very Christian organization. We do our best to help late adolesence and young adults to better imporve themselves in order to go out into the real world in just under two years." Sister Imperator explained as she opened the back door which lead to the outside of this place. Everyone followed her. Alyssa and her mom seeming normal, and Star, her eyes were so wide due to thinking about how she may not get out of here until she's twenty. All three women enjoyed the sight of the outside. Mrs. Nelson was observing from a critical view. But the girls were more interested in the football game going on between the ghouls.
"One of the ways of improvement that we have observed throughout this entire program is having at least two hours of physical activity every single day." Sister added her commentary once again. All of them watched as a nameless ghoul named Mountain had the ball in his hands. He was trying to throw it, but another ghoul named Swiss was blocking him from doing so.
"Swiss, move!" Mountain yelled in a very annoyed tone. However, Swiss did not respect his request and actually did the exact opposite. Swiss made the wise decision to kick Mountain in the ballsack. This was the worst feeling in the world for ghouls and humans alike. Mountain held onto his crotch area as if he was holding on for dear life. The only female ghoul out there at the moment took notice of what had happened. Cumulus was probably one of the most caring individuals of anyone in this place. Not only that, but anyone who came into contact with her found her to be adorable.
"Blow the whistle! Blow the whistle!" Were the only words that Mountain could say at the moment. Cumulus did just that.
"Half time!" She called out. Everyone groaned out of annoyance because one of the two teams was on the verge of winning.
"Typical." Swiss shook his head. He kicked Mountain in that same area again. But this time the pain was a lot worse than the previous kick.
"Let me ask you something, if this is such a Christian envirionment, then how come all of them over there are wearing devil masks?" Mrs. Nelson inquired.
"Oh well, it's one of the forms of punishments that we have here. That would mean that they comitted a mortal sin." Sister replied. Mrs. Nelson nodded even though she may not have agreed with that. It seemed that this was the end of the entire tour, and it was now time to make the decision whether or not Alyssa would be staying there. Alyssa was hoping and praying to the god that she doesn't believe in, that her mother has changed her mind.
"So, the last thing that I need to go over with you is pricing. I have the bill right here for you to make the final decision." Sister went into her jacket to take out an average piece of paper. Mrs. Nelson took it and her eyes nearly came out of their sockets as a result of reading the price.
"So, this is the price per year, correct?" She asked.
"No. Actually per week." Sister replied. Mrs. Nelson turned to her daughter and then placed her signature on the bottom of the paper. At this moment, Alyssa was officially doomed. She hated this feeling more than anything. She felt that she was about to have a heart attack.
"I'll pay for it the best way that I can, even if that means me getting a loan. But please help my daughter to improve. That's really what I want for her." Alyssa's mother said. Sister Imperator placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry about that, she's in good hands with us." Sister reassured her. Alyssa and her mother shared one last hug with each other. This was the last embrace that they would have with one another for a long time. Potentially two years if her mother could not afford another flight to come see her. Her mother told her that she loved her as they left each other's embrace. Alyssa didn't tell her mother that she loved her back. In fact, she wanted nothing to do with her at that moment. She wondered how her mother could say that she loved her but send her to a place like this.
Once her mother had driven away, Sister Imperator's smile completely disappeared. She was now completely serious. It was almost like she had mutated right before their eyes. It scared both girls because they had no idea what to expect next.
"Alright bitches, listen up. Almost everything that I had said was complete and utter bullshit. I really could care less about your well being. I only do this program because I love my money. So if you two can keep your goddamn mouths shut for two years, then maybe your life won't be so miserable here!" She explained in a very feisty tone.
"So, this isn't a church?" Star wanted clarification. Out of all the question to ask, she asked that one.
"It is, just not a Christian church." Sister Imperator answered. Star nodded and then she tried to figure out what kind of church it really was.
"Now, you two should be escorted to your rooms. Cardinal!" Sister Imperator directed. Now the girls had their hopes up. Only because they saw how comfortable the beds were and only wanted to get at least an hour of sleep at the moment. A young looking man appeared suddenly. He was wearing all black and his light brown hair was neatly in place while the hat was able to stay on top of his head. Both of the girls thought he was sort of odd looking.
"Cardinal, this is Alyssa and Star, they are new potential sacrifices. Could you please escort these ladies to their new rooms?" Sister Imperator requested.
"Of course." Cardinal Copia answered and motioned for the two young women to follow him. Copia lead them back inside along with all of their stuff. When he noticed all of the luggage that they had, he was reminded of what needs to be done.
"Oh, I almost forgot. I need you to leave your belongings right here." He said. Both girls gave him a confused stare.
"What? Why?" Alyssa questioned.
"You're not allowed to have anything personal here. Anything that you need we'll provide for you." He explained.
"So then what's going to happen to my shit?" Star asked.
"You'll get it back when you're released." He said. Both of the girls dropped their stuff on the floor and displayed as much attitude as they could.
"You're making this shit sound like a prison." Star commented.
"Shut up and follow me." Cardinal Copia ordered and continued walking. Both of the girls followed him and now felt empty without carrying all of their belongings. He leads them down to a dark stairway. For them it was very scary. Star was wondering what the hell they needed to go into the basement for. Because that was what this place was, a basement. The further down they went, the more spearated from the sunlight they became. It took them about five total minutes to make it to the floor. It was cold and made of pure concrete. Alyssa jumped as soon as she saw the pentogram spray painted red on the floor. She didn't really know why she was so scared of it. It was only a geometric shape. But to her, there was just something so eerie about it. Star looked down as well and the symbol did not even phase her on the outside. But on the inside she was just as scared.
"So creepy." Alyssa whispered. Star nodded agreeing with her. Cardinal Copia stopped at a door on the side wall and took out an entire ring of many keys. Somehow he was able to pick out the right one to unlock the door. When the door opened, he motioned for the two of them to go inside. When they stepped in, neither of the girls were impressed. There were just two rows of twelve beds on each side. The only light source that they have is a single lightbulb in the middle of the ceiling. They both looked extremely disappointed.
"You're not going to tell me that this is our room." Alyssa protested.
"Pick a bed." Cardinal Copia said and closed the door from there. Both Alyssa and Star heard the sound of a click before the footsteps leaving the basement. That one click scared both girls to death. Alyssa immediately sprinted over and tried to turn the knob of the door. She couldn't. Neither of them could even try to break the door down. Both turned to each other with anxiety taking over the both of them.
"Shit. I hate to break it to you, but we're locked in." Alyssa revealed.
Author’s Note: wasn’t that shitty as fuck? Yeah I agree. But this is the first chapter of my first Ghost fanfic. As I said in my previous post, this is on my Wattpad but I’m going to post it on here. Enjoy regardless and I love y’all.💀❤️

Alone Together---Chap. Eleven
Forgot to mention, this fanfic was abandoned.
Tumblr media
Fall slowly turned into winter. The leaves shriveled and fell to the crisp ground in haste by the wind, and the winds themselves grew colder and bit at exposed skin as the month slowly slugged by to December. Frost was already starting to coat the windows of Alice's house and her clunky car, and occasionally snow fell only to melt away hours later. I used to like the cold before meeting Jack Frost, but afterwards I can't stand the sight of it. Not even the idea of people slipping on black ice could make me snicker anymore, especially with what happened at the North Pole.
Sadie already got enough snow outside to form into a light snowball and put it in the freezer for safekeeping, even if it was only the start of the season. When we returned from the North Pole, it took her days to realize I was mad at her. She seemed to only care that I stayed in the house and that she knew my presence was closeby if she needed to talk to someone, even if they never responded and just stared out the window like I did.
Alice was the first one to notice my withdrawal. It was late at night, a day after our return. She was just passing by from putting Sadie to bed when she saw me sitting in the armchair, head craned up to look at the stars. I have to admit, they're much brighter and prettier in the wintertime.
She came over and whispered, "Do you get the winter blues?"
"Hm? Oh, no. Winter's my quiet season. That's all." I looked at her, not bothering to smile.
She noticed that immediately. She pulled up a footrest for the couch and put her hand on my knee. I didn't like that. Warmth was already flowing from her hand to my knee and somehow it struck sparks in my heart. This sort of chemistry of a human body should downright just be called witchcraft.
"What happened? I saw you go off with North and you came back looking very furious. You haven't spoken to Sadie since we got back."
Her honeyed voice wasn't making me feel any better. It was just making me feel worse. I couldn't even hold her, touch her, let alone smile at her. It's all forbidden...and North's words still rang through my head like the bells that ring before an execution, harmonized by the flutter of raven's wings.
"Nothing happened, Alice."
"You're lying."
"No I'm not."
"Yes you are. I see it in your eyes."
That struck another nerve. A big one. I snarled and stood up abruptly, my hands clenched into fists so tightly they turned white at the knuckles. Alice looked surprised at the reaction, and I could tell she thought she did something for that.
"Why does everyone tell me that? Am I a fucking open book? Am I just so damn readable that anyone could easily tell I'm bothered that a child promised to keep a secret yet told someone else despite that promise?! Am I just...so desperate for someone to notice my presence in the world I actually thought entrusting my first believer with a secret would be a smart move?! North was right along with Misery and-and everyone else! I'm a fucking monster that only scares people for-for-!"
"...Pitch…"
"What?!" I looked up at her. My face felt hot. And wet. Why did it feel wet? I swear I didn't mean to shout at her like that...Whoa...I've never exploded like that before. Usually I'm very calm and collected no matter how angry I was but...where this all came from I do not know.
"You're crying." Alice took a step towards me, concern etching her face and making her supple lips turn into a worried frown.
I growled and turned my back on her, wiping my face hurriedly with the heels of my palms. There's no way in Hell I'm letting Alice see me like this. I have to remain dignified, resilient, smooth...Boogeyman-like. I'm no longer a part of humanity, I can't be vulnerable. I can't...I can't…
I felt hands on my shoulder, and then one sliding upward to bring my face down. I kept my eyes closed, not wanting to look at her. I hated this. I hated looking vulnerable. I just wanted to run. Run away and not look back. Run into the forest and never come back until daybreak, or at least when she's forgotten this. But I'm frozen stiff, stuck, while her hands cupped my face.
"Look at me, Pitch." she whispered gently.
"No."
"Why?"
"I shouldn't have said those things."
She was silent for a while. I could hear her breathing. I felt...sadness in the air. I could sense it. It didn't feel colder, just...it sent chills up my spine. Like when someone hurts your feelings or you see someone you love walk away from you forever.
"Then listen to my words, and believe me completely."
I only remained still, and refused to open my eyes in case they were red or threatened to spill more. Her hands stayed on my face, but I felt one go up and brush my hair, tracing it to my temple. God, how I longed for her touch…
"You are not a monster. No matter what others say about you, don't believe them. Believe those who care about you, like Sadie and...and me. I...I wouldn't have gotten better without you. Though you spread fear as your job...you helped me face it and...come to love it. Accept it as a part of life. You brought Sadie and I closer as sisters instead of survivors, and you're the only person in the world I would trust...no matter what."
With that I opened my eyes, and saw that she had tears as well. But just like I did, she hid her face from me, by hugging me tightly and burying her face into my shoulder. Again, I was frozen. I'm still not good at this, despite dreams of holding her and making her happy.
"When I was little...people called me a monster, too. They called me that because I believed in magic, along with magical beings like mermaids and fairies. People would bully me into silence to the point I just wanted nothing more than fade away from reality...I know that feeling, Pitch. I'm all too familiar with it, and it makes my heart break knowing you go through it as well. It breaks my heart that someone I care about...someone I care about a lot is hurting so bad."
...What was I supposed to say to that? I can't just stay silent to that confession...but no words of consolation or respect, or even gratitude for her kindness came to mind.
So the only thing I could think of doing was enveloping her in an embrace. She melted into me, still hiding her face from that, and I guess she was embarrassed about admitting something so dark.
"Well….does it make you feel any better knowing you were right all along?" I asked in the stillness.
Damn. Was that really all I could say? I'm terrible.
She looked up at that, confusion written in her dark chocolate eyes. "Huh?"
I smiled at that and took her hand, beckoning her to follow me into the cold air outside. She was able to grab a knitted hat before the back door was swung open by yours truly. I never let go of her hand as I guided her towards the forest, right at the edge where the woods met the backyard. The stars glimmered in the sky brighter than any day so far, not a cloud in sight either. The moon was full, like a glowing moonstone one would find in a stream.
"What are you showing me?" she asked, her breath steaming in the crisp air.
"Watch the forest." I said, guiding her neck gently to turn forward and watch with a trained eye.
A few minutes passed where nothing happened, and I could tell Alice was getting colder by the second. She started shivering, rubbing her hands together before rubbing the sides of her thighs for friction. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her from behind, resting my chin on the top of her head. I didn't need to look to know she was smiling. I felt it by the warmth her body gave off despite being cold.
Sure enough, twinkling lights floated out of knots in the trees, up from the leaves and down close to the ground. Mostly ranging in glowing colors of white and yellow hues with some green, they danced around in the air, following the call of the wind. Faintly, one could hear their tiny music play, a chorus of singing and panflutes and instruments that resembled the sound of a music box.
I heard Alice draw in a breath of utter awe, and I couldn't help but smile in victory. I knew that would please her.
"They're...Oh my God." were the only words that were whispered from her mouth.
Closer and closer they danced in the air, being carried by the wind and upwards above our heads. By this time Alice could see that they donned silkworm clothing and were as tiny as her pinkie finger. Their gossamer, dragonfly wings fluttered along with their dance in a rhythmic pattern to the tune of their music, and some noticed us below, but barely enough to cause a disruption in their dance.
By the time half of them were above in the air and reaching the other side of forestry across the backyard, we were bathed in their light. It was a dim glow, easy on the eyes for an evening that was meant to get ready for bed. The moon's glow made it seem more majestic, probably than I have ever imagined.
I felt eyes on me, and I couldn't help but think they were the eyes of the fairies that glided upwards into the sky, finally noticing our presence. Fairies were usually calm beings, though preferred to be hidden from human sight, as well as any other animal that was larger than them. They were timid yet peaceful, never biting people's ears or tricking unfortunate wanderers like pixies and sprites do. If they noticed us they would not be bothered since we weren't bothering them. Just observing.
But then I felt those same warm hands from before take my shoulders, causing me to look down at Alice if she needed to go back inside.
But then I saw her face come closer, and closer...and closer...really quickly.
Before I knew it, her lips were pressed to mine.
My neck stiffened…
This. This happened. It wasn't I who kissed her first. It was her. My eyes never closed, I was too deep in shock. My mind was blank, or maybe I can't remember what I was thinking when she kissed me.
She finally pulled back, blushing brightly and busy fidgeting with her winter hat to look at me.
"S-sorry. I-I just thought, uh-w-well, I um-" she stammered.
...She likes me. I really matter to her that much. She kissed me….God Above she kissed me.
Shut up and let me kiss you.
And I did just that. Her stumbling words were ceased once I kissed her back bravely, now feeling a giant weight lift off my chest. I no longer had a burden to wear...or at least this one. Many burdens will weigh on me, but this one can be relieved for good. Her lips gently pressed back, causing me to hum happily and embrace her tightly, and her arms wrapped around my neck.
Screw the spirit rules. Screw the Forbidden Bond...Alice was mine, and mine alone. I'll love her like no man would ever love her, make her feel whole and happy til her final breath. Or at least...make her happy for now until she moves on.
She finally pulled away, smiling a bit, as if she knew something that I didn't. After shaking myself out of my stupor I gave her a quizzical look.
"What?"
"You know how long I've known you liked me?" when she got the embarrassed blush of mine she continued with a wild grin, "since the day you told me that dream you had."
"Oh, come on, are you serious?" I rolled my eyes and dropping her.
She laughed brightly as she followed me back towards the house, causing me to grin widely as well. It's no longer a problem of mine now that I knew how she felt in return.
"You were staring right at me when you said it! How was that not a clue?" she snickered, jogging up next to me to lace hands with mine.
"I was engaging us in a conversation! You're supposed to look at who you're talking to." I protested.
"Oh please, you totally were giving me baby eyes."
"Baby eyes?"
"Those big eyes you make when you want something?"
"Damn, you know me well. Am I cute like that?"
She giggled before jumping to her tip-toes and kissed my cheek, grinning wildly, "Very cute."
So take that and stick it up your ass, North. I don't give a damn about the Forbidden Bond, nor does Alice.
