15 people, 15 questions
I was tagged by @belladonna-and-the-sweetpeas <333
Are you named after anyone?
no. there's a video game character with my name and occasionally people will bring this character up and ask if i was named after her but no, i wasn't. my parents don't play videogames
2. When was the last time you cried?
i honestly don't remember, i don't actually cry all that much. (so if you see me say things like "i'm crying" in the tags then i'm actually only crying in my heart, i'm not shedding any actually tears dfkfkjdf)
last time i cried was either bc i was really angry or really extremely overwhelmed with life during a period where i hadn't slept much or was on my period or so. orrr what is actually even more likely is that the last time i cried was when i cried from laughter while being with friends. i cry from laughter a lot, actually
3. Do you have kids?
nope. i think i could be a good mother if i had to, but ngl, motherhood and parenting doesn't sound very appealing to me. i am planning on becoming an aunt tho. i'll let my brother provide the grandkids and i'll just borrow them occasionally, spoil them, and then i can always give them back when they get too exhausting or annoying 😂
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
i play baseball for fun once a year with old summer camp friends. other than that i'm not very athletic. in elementary school i used to go to schwimmkurse (swimming courses) which was super fun and it's one of the few sports that i'd consider taking up again if i were to do any. i've always liked swimming (but only in places where i can see the ground and where the water isn't too cold. i feel really uneasy when i can't see the ground and i also freeze easily so i'm not a fan of cold water)
5. Do you use sarcasm?
sarcasm? me? neeeeever, not at all 🤭
(^^^this answer is sarcastic, the genuine answer is yes. yes, i do. <- for those struggling to understand sarcasm, esp in written form <3)
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
uhhhhh good question, i don't actually know???? maybe their face, idk
7. What's your eye colour?
blue-gray ish. and i have a yellow/green circle around each pupil. i actually really like my eyes, they're my fave part of my appearance 🥰
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
happy endings for sure!! i could never get into scary movies, idk
9. Any talents?
languages, i guess. at least i'm known as the language genius in my family and my friend groups. but to be honest, there's still a lot about language that i don't know and i don't feel like i'm all that great (esp when my language learning progress feels slower than the one of others. which is totally fine by me bc everyone should go at their own pace, but i just don't like it when people call me a language genius bc i feel like in reality i'm not really living up to that. i just happen to know a little bit more about language than those around me, but compared with actual experts? yeah no, i in no way compare...)
but yeah out of all the skills that i have, languages is one my best ones. and i'm also really good at organizing (aka keeping a million lists and making sure all the props are at the right spots and with the right actors and there's enough spares of everything etc lol)
10. Where were you born?
austria 🇦🇹🇦🇹🇦🇹
(NOT the place with kangaroos just so we're clear dkjgkdjf)
11. What are your hobbies?
(internally) crying over fictional characters, then blorbo-posting about it. sometimes i'll also subject irl-people to my blorbo rants (mainly my mother and some of my friends)
i also take violin lessons and thai classes for fun
12. Do you have any pets?
technically no, but really yes. my mom and my brother share a dog and my parents also have two kitties. i go home a lot bc i don't really like staying in my own flat in the city where i study so they do feel like my own pets as well, esp the kitties <333
Tumblr media
^this is nika (the dog) and coco (boy cat). they're besties <3
Tumblr media
^this is minou (girl cat). she's the youngest and the smallest of them all, so we nicknamed her "die kleine" (the small one (f))
13. How tall are you?
155 cm
14. What was your favourite subject in school?
german, it was the easiest for me
fun fact: the only subject in school that i ever got a frühwarnung in was english lmao. ("frühwarnung" = early warning and it's what you get when you're about to get an f in your report card for a subject. i got an f in english in my report card for semester break, so i had the whole summer semester to get my grade up to a d)
15. What is your dream job?
director!!!! in theater or film, idk, but i just really wanna be a director. and maybe take some minor acting roles on the side, idk. for now i still feel too shy to do any professional acting, despite having gotten acting training for 3 years djkkdjfg
i'm really looking forward to next summer, bc i get to be assistant director at this one theater that i've worked at as an intern for the past two summers. the assistant directors that i've worked with so far at this theater have both sucked and both times i ended up more or less taking on the job myself anyway (to the point where they even paid me for my work despite my position usually being an unpaid one) and so this summer i was like "uhhh guys so what if for next summer's production i just work as an assitant director right away instead of an intern?" and they were like "omg you're hired" 😂

I've been tagged ages ago by @dandenbo @mtreebeardiles and @sh00kspeared on different ask memes of the sort (thank you all for tagging me) and I'm in a sharing mood so I thought it'd be fun to just...compile them together because i'm insane
3 fave ships:
Johnny/m!V, Vik/m!V, mShenko; these three are always on rotation in my head amongst all my other ships atm.
First ship:
...it...um...uh.
Sonic/Shadow. Sigh.
Favorite childhood book:
I had a very, very brief phase of being into Eragon when I was in 7th grade or something (I'm talking very brief as in I never finished the first book)
Currently reading:
Not really anything currently, but the last fanfic I read was the spoils, the spoils by kindly on ao3 (E rated Vik/m!V fair warning). As far as physical reading material the last thing I read was 100 Ways to Improve Your Writing by Gary Provost.
Currently watching:
I don't actively watch shows/movies on my own time. I get too antsy at the idea of watching one continuous thing if I'm not like...purposefully determined to watch something (even then I need a break). The last time we used our streaming account was to watch Adventure Time, bf wanted to rewatch the show.
Fave color:
Tumblr media
Basically everything in the circle, on the brighter/pastel side. Primarily pink tho.
Song stuck in head:
Right now it's Desperado by the Eagles
Last song listened to:
Chinatown by Jets to Brazil. Whenever i get around to making a playlist for my corpo V it's going on there.
Fave food:
Oh my god, there's so many. Tacos, good marbled brisket, hamburger.......
Spicy/sweet/savory:
Gimme it alllllllllllllllllllll
Currently craving:
Something fried and greasy and yucky because I've been stressed af all day
Last googled:
German Spitz for werewolf au purposes
Are you named after anyone?:
Yes! As a matter of fact! A book character with a name I vibed with immediately.
When was the last time you cried?:
A few weeks ago, can't even remember what it was tbh.
Do you have kids?:
I get bad baby fever from time to time, but something I came to terms with a while ago is that I'm too selfish to want children in my life. I value my privacy and alone time too much to disrupt that.
What sports do you play/have you played?:
I did karate and soccer when I was a wee lad. Neither interested me after a certain point.
Do you use sarcasm?:
Mostly when I know it'll be telegraphed as Being Funny, but I tend to do so unintentionally otherwise.
What is the first thing you notice about people?:
Hair usually, or whatever they're wearing
What's your eye color?:
Brown
Scary movies or happy endings?:
Happy endings I guess? It's been a while since I've seen a movie...
Any talents?:
I have a knack for drawing silly cartoon faces if that counts...
Where were you born?:
Island in the PNW
What are your hobbies?:
Drawing, writing and playing video games mostly. I like to daydream about having new hobbies too, if that counts.
Do you have any pets?:
Tumblr media
BABY BOY 🫵 BABY
How tall are you?:
Like 5ft4in or something, very middle of the road.
Favorite subject in school?:
Art and history were my fave in school
Dream job?:
At this point I've given up on the idea of a specific dream job and now just want something that'll keep a roof over my head and let me get take out guilt free lol

YOU GUYS JAMISON LIKES UNDERTALE!!!
TELL ME EVERYTHING PLEASE /nf
I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH
I do! I've actually liked it for years. Um, I'm going to be kinda cringe for a minute before I get into the actual game it's self. Spoilers?? Do I need to warn that?
I actually fell into the game when I was in 5th grade, I couldn't even play the game and it still managed to get a grip on me. I watched every video I could find about it, mainly getting sucked into videos reading comics about the game. Me and my friend at the time both loved the game so we would talk about it for hours and real fanfics on Quotev and Wattpad. I actually remember seeing "Down To The Bone." When/ around the time dropped, I listened to it on repeat. I also watched the "Undertale If It Was Realistic." A lot too. ALSO, the undertale parody of "Stronger Than You" was quoted a lot. My friend was a huge fan of Temmie and they used to talk like her and I remember always thinking that was cool. I was always a huge fan of Papyrus, Mettaton, and Sans. Mettaton specifically (more on that later). And I guess I just remember, wanting so bad to be able to be apart of the fandom, but not being able to. I begged my mom to get me merch for the game while trying to hide how I knew so much about the game. (I wasn't allowed on YouTube or social media so I had to tell her I loved it bc my friend did.) I did not get the merch I wanted btw, but um, I guess it's just, it's my childhood in a way. I also used to try and draw the characters but I couldn't draw so I ended up just imagining scenarios in my head. I used to swing on the swing set at recess and just imagine stuff about the game.
Okay so the fun not cringe stuff but still cringe in a way.
So, when I finally played undertale for the first time, oh my god??? It fixed something in me, what it fixed, I don't know. I remember being super confused and trying to look at a guide for everything. I also felt so bad because I killed a few monsters in my first run and when Undyne told me I was killing them I cried. I also cried at her fight because I was dying over and over and I didn't know what to do. And also at the time I thought there were two endings, Pacifist and Genocide, and I cried when I couldn't save Asgore because I thought did something wrong (because at this point I had reset the game and killed no one). Fun fact, I have never played the Genocide route because I can't kill Papyrus. I can't do it man. I'd rather die. I love the sound track, and I love all the characters. And I love the game. I want to get an undertale tattoo at some point I love it that much.
I guess the last thing I want to say is that the game probably made me realize I was queer, in some way. Like it might not have been an instant thing, but it definitely opened my mind to queer ideas when all I had been fed was gay people bad, trans people evil. I think Mettaton was a huge thing to me, I wanted to be like him, I thought he was so cool. I didn't know men could be feminine and be cool, that it wasn't some joke. I just, I think it made me realize something some how. Also seeing a lesbian couple made a little switch in my brain flip, like oh, I like them, and they're gay, so why don't I like other gay people? (I had a LOT of internalized homophobia and transphobia and it was somehow fixed by undertale go figure 😭)
I don't know, maybe this isn't the best breakdown or what you were looking for, and to be fair it's probably unintelligible rambling. But it did give me a chance to look back on my past and how much this game really changed me and made my life better. So thanks! Um and sorry I suppose.
Also! Shocker, and probably insane to admit, but... I never thought I'd find a game that made me feel like Undertale did and then I found TF2. TF2 is my new Undertale and that's horrific </3

15 Tags, 15 Mutuals
I was tagged by the lovely @latteaki and the amazing @softimbue Thank you both!
are you named after anyone?
I'm not sure for my legal name. I asked my parents when I was a child, but I can't remember their response. I do know that my middle name is my mother's middle name, and was my great grandmother's first name.
2. when was the last time you cried?
I have no idea. I don't cry very often.
3. do you have kids?
No, and I never want any. I do have two cats, though.
4. do you use sarcasm a lot?
Somewhat. I wish I used it more, to be honest.
5. what sports do you play/have you played?
When I was really little I did soccer, but hated it, so I quit. After that I didn't really do any sports, unless you count me taking riding lessons.
6. what’s the first thing you notice about other people?
To be perfectly honest, their clothing and/or hair.
7. eye colour?
Blue.
8. scary movies or happy endings?
Literally the only thing in the world that scares me is jumpscares, which a lot of scary movies rely on. So I prefer happy endings, I suppose.
9. any special talents?
Figuring out plot twists ages before they happen. It's uncanny at this point.
10. where were you born?
Somewhere in Michigan.
11. what are your hobbies?
Playing video games in waves, writing not nearly enough, taking way too many screenshots in the sims, reading books in one sitting, hanging out with my cats, watching critical role, and sleeping.

Thanks for the tag @beverlysclown!!

like. yesterday over a fic i was reading. i cry at the drop of a hat though
DO YOU HAVE KIDS?:
i have like 15 children i refer to as "my kids" but i think their parents might disagree
WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?:
i did ballet and gymnastics when i was super little, like hardly-remember-it little, then i did competitive skiing and then i switched to competitive swimming which i did through late elementary school until the end of high school. i'm hoping to go out for a beginner slo-pitch group next summer though
DO YOU USE SARCASM?:
i try to but i'm bad at expressing myself through tone of voice lol
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?:
uh if someone has a cool outfit on then definitely that. otherwise hair
WHAT'S YOUR EYE COLOUR?:
"buy him brown contacts" blue
SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?:
DUDE. like if i had to choose one forever i'd choose happy endings because i do not enjoy being miserable and if every single movie had a sad ending i'd die but i love scary movies so much i just also enjoy when they have happy endings LOL
ANY TALENTS?:
i don't wear makeup like ever but am still for some reason able to put on near-perfect mascara in the dark without a mirror. i can also run in high heels pretty well
WHERE WERE YOU BORN?:
hospital :)
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?:
every possible hobby i can get my hands on. uh watching movies though, random crafts, writing, reading comics, web design
DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?:
cat. i love him <:
HOW TALL ARE YOU?:
5'9 (i exclusively respond to this question in person with 6'3 though but i feel like that doesn't come across the same when you can't actually see me LOL)
FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?:
in high/elementary school my favorite subjects were the social sciences, history, and gym. my favorite college course i've taken though was a niche media analysis course i don't want to get too detailed about at risk of doxxing myself lol
DREAM JOB?:
ugh man. my dream dream is opening a physical media rental/buy combo store that would focus on DVD/bluray rental but also sell other stuff like comics, VHS, older video games, etc. but obviously i'd be bankrupt in a week. it's nice to imagine though. my more realistic dream is making online games for kids like 7-14 (think webkinz, animal jam, moshi monsters, etc.) but theres no market for that anymore. i'll be happy with any job in the game industry though, maybe 3D work. if none of that works out i might get a teaching degree and teach social sciences or something to 7th graders. if that also falls through i'm honestly just happy with an average job i'm not passionate about as long as it keeps a roof over my head and gives me enough free time and spending money to explore my hobbies and make video games on the side.

Questions for 15 Friends Tag Game
Rules: Answer the questions, then tag 15 people. (won't be tagging anyone personally lol)
Thanks for the tag @/corishadowfang!
ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
IRL No, not that I'm aware of. I'm the only one in my immediate family (sans my father's side) not named after another member of our family. I do get my middle name from my mom's first name, though. (which, funny enough, wasn't her original first name. She went by her middle name much more than her first name, so she just had it legally changed lol) My Dad wanted to name me Gwendolyn and his mom wanted Bronwyn.
Online, I think it's pretty obvious where I get my name(s) from lol. Though, I don't think I've ever told the origins of Rosie. It was actually originally supposed to be like an adjective? Like "rosy cheeks" or whatever, but I spelt it the way one spells the name Rosie and it came first in my url, so I came to be known as Rosie.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Can't remember exactly? But I think I was crying over some video compilation of people reuniting with lost pets and I was thinking about my deceased cat, Jazzy. I have no idea why I was watching that video.
DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Nah, I'm 17.
WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED?
In elementary school my mom really wanted me to get into softball since she played it in college, so I was briefly on a tee-ball (kiddie baseball, hit using a tee) team and a softball team. I didn't like it very much, so I only played for a year or so. Then in middle school my mom wanted me to get into Volleyball, same story there. The one sport that stuck was Swimming, which my mom insisted I try because both of my older brothers had been on the team in the past. I ended up being really good at swimming, so I still swim competitively to this day.
DO YOU USE SARCASM?
Mostly only around my family or people I'm close with irl. I really don't want to come off as mean around strangers, either online or face-to-face.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Online I usually pay attention to the way they type, I suppose? or the way they talk through text, can't really explain it though. Real life, I suppose it's how they carry themselves, visual stuff like that.
WHAT’S YOUR EYE COLOUR?
I have central heterochromia! Means I have two colors in one eye; blue and brown :) It's not really noticeable unless you look really close.
SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Happy endings :)) Though I do watch scary movies in a roundabout way by putting on youtube videos about horror movies as background noise sometimes.
ANY TALENTS?
I think I'm a decent singer, also I think I'd make a killer voice actor.
WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
Dead middle of a nor'easter (really bad blizzard) in Maine
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Art :) I read sometimes. I like building legos whenever I get the chance too. Also video games lol. Pretty run-of-the-mill hobbies, I think.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?
Two atm! Sulley (white one) and Callie (calico), both cats :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOW TALL ARE YOU?
5'11"
FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?
History 💪💪💪 Family full of History buffs, excluding my mom lol
DREAM JOB?
I would love to one day work on a show as a storyboard artist or animator, and the hopeful goal is to someday be a showrunner myself. It's a big goal for sure but it's something I really want. Art is my passion and I want to pursue it. Remember your darling mutual rosie-kairi when people start having discourse about my ocs.
Feel free to do this yourself if you want to! Open invitation :D

Thanks for the tag, @freenarnian
Are you named after anyone? Yes - my first name after one grandma, my middle name after the other.
When was the last time you cried? Ummm...definitely Monday, at least. Might have teared up over Frodo and Sam or something in the past couple days; I can't quite remember ^^'
Do you have kids? Not unless you count my brain children (Mommy loves you, Jake Rogers! >3<)
What sports do you play/have you played? I play a mean game of Wii Tennis :) (aka flailing the Wiimote around like a crazy person)
Do you use sarcasm? Oh, never.
What is the first thing you notice about people? Uhhh...their hair? The general shape of their face?
What's your eye color? Brown
Scary movies or happy endings? Yes. (Signs is the perfect movie in this regard.)
Any talents? Mostly just writing. A head for grammar, I guess? Picking up new words in foreign languages?
Where were you born? I feel okay saying this because I don't live there anymore: Pennsylvania.
What are your hobbies? Reading, writing, watching movies/shows, playing video games, and a new addition is video editing!
Do you have any pets? Not personally, but I live with my sisters, and one of them has three rats and an axolotl. So I get to watch them and laugh at their antics and coo over how cute they are, but they're not my responsibility :P
How tall are you? 5'6"
Favorite subject in school? English, always. Looking back on myself, I have to laugh at elementary-aged Novie, because I used to hate grammar and spelling (I mean, I hated math more). But then when I reached high school, it kind of clicked that I was actually pretty good at it, it came to me much more naturally than math or science, and maybe the reason I always thought it was such a drag before was because it was so easy. There was no challenge! I also really really loved the psychology class I took in high school, so once I got to college it was a no-brainer to major in English and minor in psychology (and education, but that was for a scholarship).
Dream job? I'm working towards a job in scoping, which looks pretty rosy from where I'm standing - working from home, not really having to talk to anybody, spending your whole day correcting the grammar, punctuation, and formatting of court transcripts? It's like it was tailor-made for me! I've also thought it would be pretty cool to be a librarian, a copyeditor, or a transcriptionist, but from what I could tell when I looked into them, it would be a little hard to find a job that would support me, at least without taking more higher education than I could probably stand x.x
Tagging @sailforvalinor, @rainintheevening, and @x-i-l-verify if this looks like fun!

15 Questions for 15 Friends
Tagged by @stuffforthestash
ARE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? Not a real life person but my name is a Biblical name that my mom really liked. Except, when I asked her if I was named after the Bible character, she admitted that no, she really loved this one musical growing up and never got over the names of one of the characters lol So I guess I'm named after a character in a musical too
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? girl idek it could have been two days ago it could have been a week ago, my memory is a sieve. I don't cry often though
DO YOU HAVE KIDS? No but I want kids one day. Adopted, fostered, biological, Ima make it happen one day
WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED? I am...so very bad at sports. I have terrible depth perception and these days my knees will kill me if I tried anything high-intensity. I was a band kid lmao
DO YOU USE SARCASM? Sarcasm is a love language to me <3
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE? Their...vibe? I don't know how to explain it. I sort of mentally categorize people in my head based on clothing/hairstyle/any makeup/etc and fit them temporarily into boxes like "sporty, professional, feminine, etc" until I start talking to them and get a better understanding of who they are
WHAT'S YOUR EYE COLOUR? Basic blue with a bit of gray
SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS? I can't watch scary movies because I will dream the scenarios with me in the worst possible situation :') And I hate jumpscares. Happy endings all the way tho, love a happy ending
ANY TALENTS? I can sing really well. I used to be classically trained but between getting covid twice and not keeping up with my scales and arpeggios (lol), I've lost a bit of my former range. I can also learn the words of a song in a few hours and remember it for a long time afterward (which sucks when my brain goes into Random Jukebox mode and I get a song stuck in my head that I don't even like that much but know too well)
WHERE WERE YOU BORN? In a nondisclosed state in the American South where most days you experience all 4 seasons at once and every summer is like living in the devil's armpit (a phrase I've heard more than once from fellow southern denizens lol)
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? Writing, watching YouTube, playing video games...I want to get back into cooking, crafts, hiking, etc but I'm bad at managing time and where I currently live has like zero interesting hikes nearby
DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS? Two cats! Their names are Muse and Indy
HOW TALL ARE YOU? Too tall to be a hobbit but slightly shorter than the average human gal
FAVOURITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL? English. I was also too advanced for most of my English classes, which is probably why I liked them best, because half the time I finished the work in a few minutes and spent the rest of class reading. And now I'm an English professor lol
DREAM JOB? Book writer...Honestly being an English lit professor is also a dream job but I'm working on accomplishing that so it feels less like a "dream" and more like a future reality (hopefully). But being a published author with an established fanbase?? Oh man, that IS the dream.
Thank you for the ask!! Tagging uh.....anyone who hasn't done this yet and wants to steal it. Free tag!

"Speechless" (Mario Bros GAME universe fic)
"Weege?"
Mario winced slightly; his voice louder than he wanted as he called out into the quiet air. He was searching the castle library. He knew his brother would be here, he liked this unused game area, often hiding out here. The game developers had found it charming and had put in hundreds of real books for him and the others to read. There had been a shift in the Nintendo game world. Video game (and cartoon characters as well) relied on their voice actors to 'loan' their voices to them. As long as the actor was alive, the character could speak in the voice given to them and make new games, new cartoons, and so on. But should an actor die or retire, the character could only use the given voice outside of new media until an actor stepped up to replace the other.
It wasn't always easy. Voices came and went, several one after another sometimes. Mario had seen it with Shaggy, and it had hit the Scooby-Doo character hard, tossed from voice to voice until he had finally settled with Matthew Lillard. Characters couldn't pick which voice to use from a variety, either. They were stuck with whomever had been recorded last. And, after so many years, the change had finally come to the Mario's little corner of the world. "Luigi!" he dared to be louder. No one else was in the library at the moment, so he felt it acceptable to call out. A soft sound reached him. Turning a corner, he found Luigi on the floor, knees drawn to his chest as he hid against one of the bookcases. A flashlight and a few books lay around him. He looked up at Mario, sadness in his sapphire eyes. Mario sat beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I thought I'd find you here. You okay?" Luigi shook his head, a sniffle escaping him. Mario moved, his arm wrapping protectively around him. "I know it's hard, but Weege, he'll still be around, remember?" Luigi pulled away and his hands moved swiftly as he signed. 'It's not the same!' A few years ago, the Bros had been taught sign-language with the idea of maybe using it in a game. While this had never come to fruition, both enjoyed learning and still used it around each other. 'It hurts a lot, having to change.' Mario signed back. 'But just give them a chance, our new voice actors are really nice from what I heard. Papa likes them, too.' The game Bros often affectionately called Shigeru Miyamoto "Papa". 'I don't even know their names!' Luigi signed furiously. A sob shook his thin frame. 'How can I speak with their voice?! Charles W-A-S my voice!' he spelled out 'was' to drive home his point. "Weege…" 'I'm not brave like you, Mario!' Luigi trembled, tears streaming down his face. "I can't do this!" he cried out in his new voice before slapping his hands over his mouth. He backed up, shaking with sobs.
Mario sat beside him again, this time pulling his little brother into his arms. His thoughts drifted back. The day he had met Charles, that amazing feeling of finally being able to speak with his own voice, the joy he felt when he heard Luigi speak for the first time, along with Wario and Waluigi, and their baby selves. It was all so incredible. Then came the announcement. He had never really considered it before, their voice retiring, leaving them to get used to new voices. While jealousy had never really bothered him, he admitted it tugged at his heart when he realized Wario and Waluigi still had their voices for now. He knew that would eventually change, and he would be there for his friends when they needed him. But underneath it all, it hurt. Mario wrapped his arms around Luigi, holding him tighter as tears of his own fell, his new voice seizing in his throat. For the first time in years, he was speechless.

Are you named after anyone?
Nope. My mum just liked the name but we do joke that she subconsciously named me and my sister after a Dracula hammer house horror where the two women are named Alice and Lucy because she was a goth lol
When was the last time you cried?
Last night when I was thinking about Joel Miller (tlou) 🤭
Do you have kids?
Nope.
Do you use sarcasm?
Yes. I think it's honestly like a regional dialect thing because everyone takes the piss out of each other where I'm from and sarcasm is one of the way of doing so
What is the first thing you notice about someone?
Normally their voice but I'm shit at recognising accents so not the best thing haha but also hair. Not necessarily as a judgement but I just notice that first and I always remember someone by their hair
What is your eye colour?
Blue.
Scary movies or happy endings?
Scary movies but I prefer bittersweet endings that make me sob and stick with me for a week over happy endings
Any special talents?
I can hear plugs and shit. Like the high pitched squeal some electronics give out that others can't and it drives me insane but is handy knowing when something needs unplugged
Where were you born?
The north of England, baby. North north. Like near Scotland north.
What are your hobbies?
Everything I post on here and like video games and the usual.
Do you have any pets?
Yep.
Tumblr media
What sports do you play/have played?
I used to be really into badminton and was pretty good at it but my school never had any clubs and we couldn't afford for like private clubs so I just stopped playing after primary school other than the odd lesson in secondary
Favourite subject in school?
Media Studies because I'd just argue with my teacher about their ridiculous opinions on movies lol
Dream job?
To not have a job. I adore getting up and doing nothing but my hobbies. I work for my days off. There isn't a specific thing I'd love to do but I do love doing artist liaison at events because its stressful but fun and I've met some amazing people through it so yeah I do that on occasion but I couldn't handle it as a full-time thing

15 Questions 15 Mutuals
Thanks to @kasienda for the tag!
1. Are you named after anyone?
No.
2. When was the last time you cried?
I can't recall, but it must have been some movie.
3. Do you have kids?
No.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I used to, especially back in the days when I would argue about politics on video game forums. But all that stuff only ever made me (and the people I was talking to) angry, so these days I try to not get into political arguments and be more genuine and kind. It doesn't always work, but I think I've gotten better.
5. What sports do you play/have played?
Swimming, but on a very low level. My experience with sports in school quickly led me to a point where I defined "no sports" as one of my character traits. But it turns out that's bad for your health, and I genuinely feel better if I'm fitter. Swimming is the best I've found.
6. What’s the first thing you notice about someone?
Color of their clothes, I guess. I'd like to give a more interesting answer, but I'm terrible at noticing stuff about people, let alone remembering it.
7. What’s your eye color?
Brown
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Definitely more happy endings than scary movies. I'm also okay with unhappy endings if they're well done, but I've never had any interest in scary movies.
9. Any special talents?
The classic stereotypical "good with computers", I guess. I also seem to have endless brain space for useless trivia.
10. Where were you born?
German Democratic Republic
11. What are your hobbies?
Model railroading and all that comes along with it, including a tiny bit of woodworking and a bit more electronics. Also photography and fanfic writing. Which one I do how much fluctuates a lot over time.
12. Do you have pets?
No, I never had any.
13. How tall are you?
175 cm
14. Favorite subject in school?
Maths
15. Dream job?
Something similar to what I'm doing now, perhaps with fewer hours, better pay or more control over the end product.
I feel like most of my mutuals have already been tagged, so I couldn't get to 15. If you have been tagged before, please ignore it, and if I missed you, please consider yourself tagged:

15 Questions 15 Mutuals
Rules: Answer the questions as yourself or as an OC of your choice
The always friend shaped @vicstmichael tagged me, and you can read her lovely post here.
I'm going to be answering for both myself and Lexical's oldest OC, Samuel. (I'll be responding like this) meanwhile Sam like this.
The lightest of tags towards: @sunset-a-story @squarebracket-trick @valanke @pure-solomon @captain-kraken annnnd I know it says to tag 15 people but I've got other tag games so I'm going to save some mutual. Alternatively if 10 more individuals could do this so I don't become cursed that'd be grand.
1. Are you named after anyone?
I think I was named after one of my grandfathers, who was named after some biblical character. Someone who broke pillars? Or was that another guy? (To shorten a long story: Sam predates Lexical and is technically two older characters mixed together. One was an unplayed FATE character named Smith of Masks, who was a spooky manakin looking monster that was also a journalist. It wrote under the pen name "Sam Smith" as a loose reference to it's acronym [SoM] and the generic last name Smith [which was also already part of its name]. The other was a short story I wrote over on Reddit, but that has little to do with the name.)
(Meanwhile I was named after a Frenchman in space. Or two books of the bible. I claim the former, but my religious [secretly trekkie] parents claim the later.)
2. When was the last time you cried?
I don't know, not like I keep track of these things. Probably the last time I had a bone broken. (It was when Ashley gave him his birthday gift).
(Last night I was meditating and talking to myself and we felt emotional. It was a good cry.)
3. Do you have kids?
Biologically no, but there is a worryingly growing group of young and wyrd individuals that I keep either saving or having over for dinner. I, uh, well they know what they mean to me. I think.
(Nope, not yet at least. That said I had been working in some form of child care most of my career life.)
4. Do you use sarcasm?
I would Never do such a thing. Words have power after all, imagine if I didn't mean what I say. (See: Umbra wyrdling)
(All the time, though usually for me it walks the fine line between sarcasms and lying/gaslighting as a bit. I never let it go too far though, and only do it over un-important topics.)
5. What's the first thing you notice about people?
How many limbs they have. Jokes aside, how they are presenting themselves: they way they walk, talk, stand, etc. Got worse/more noticeable recently.
(Usually their hair. I'm slightly face blind and find myself relying on the hair/dress of people I only slightly know to recognize them.)
6. What's your eye color?
It changes, but I think I was born with blue eyes? Can't exactly remember.
(Very Brown.)
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings any day of the week. Love me some sappy romance where everyone's just content at the end. Besides I see enough horror in my work life, don't want to bring that shit home. Hell it usually doesn't have trouble finding my house anyways.
(Both? Both is good. If I had to choose horror since I see that as being capable of exploring things a lot of fiction can't, but I wouldn't want everything I consume to end with "then everyone was bound to super hell for eternity".)
8. Any special talents?
Surviving things that should have killed me. My more magically inclined friends have taken to referring to me as a "Community College Wizard" so I guess I've got that going for me too.
(I've been told I'm a divergent thinker, so I think that's special. Also I'm fairly good at most video/board games. Might be linked, idk?)
9. Where were you born?
Dalas, Texas. Don't intend on going back any time soon though.
(South Carolina, though I moved to Kentucky before I started being old enough to remember things.)
10. What are your hobbies?
Reading. I've got this lovely pile of shitty novels I collect that I'm slowly working through. No rhyme or reason to what's in them, just slowly bought them on discount from local book stores. Romance is my favorite genre.
(Games, I love games. TTRPGs, video games, tabletop/board games. Anything with a rule system that I can learn and play with in unique ways. I'm usually drawn to things that are turn based, but the video game I have easily put the most time into would be Warframe. Also, uh, writing.)
11. Have you any pets?
I've got a half dozen Wyrdlings I have to babysit and at least 2 minor thought entities living in my house. Yes I consider all of them effectively Pets.
(Not currently, but I used to have a turtle named Ruto.)
12. What sports do you play/have played?
Used to place baseball back when I was a kid, but that fell off when I graduated.
(Back when I was a child my parents had me try nearly every form of sports there was. None of them stuck, and I never joined a school related team.)
13. How tall are you?
It changes, or at least I suspect it does. Around 5'8 last I checked but I swear I'm getting shorter.
(5'10)
14. Favorite subject in school?
Took a semester of forensics back in high school. It was taught by a couch who was just reading a chapter ahead of the class, but the topic was fascinating.
(Psychology/Philosophy in that order. I didn't properly start learning either till I was in college. Got some regrets that I didn't take more than 1 philosophy course; even more upset that I only ever took 1 writing course.)
15. Dream job?
What I'm doing now: private investigating. Though in a perfect world I'd deal with a few less monsters on a daily basis. I guess it's more interesting then just spying on people from inside a car. Some days I miss not knowing about the Wyrd; but other days balance it out.
(Still trying to figure that out. Ended my career as a behavioral therapist a while ago [moral/stress issues] and kinda now figuring out what I actually want to do. Would have said being a Therapist a while ago but I'm not sure.)

I'm having a weird brain week because the old family shit has been stirred up, so I guess I'm rambling about it on here.
So (bear with me) I reinstalled my old LEGO HP games because I was getting bored of the superhero ones I've been playing and LEGO games are pretty much the only video games I can ever be bothered with, and hoo boy. (And I don't even mean the whole issue of 'the creator of this thing I still can't help but care about hates people like me now', I can mostly deal with that these days by just not putting any money anywhere near her direction and not engaging publicly with her work.)
Sometimes there's that one fictional character that was really important to you when a bunch of shit was going down in your life and so they end up intrinsically linked to that shit in your brain, and for me that's Lupin. Every time I go back to HP, I end up going back to obsessing over that guy, and more often than not it dredges up everything that I used him as a coping mechanism for. And this time it very much has.
Long story short-ish, I was 15 when my parents sat me and my sisters down and told us they were getting divorced. It was November, and that was the year that I was sitting my Highers, which at that point were the exams that your uni application would depend on the results of, i.e. the exams that at a private school obsessed with academic results you end up believing are going to determine the rest of your life. I was doing six, you're usually supposed to do a maximum of five, so I had no free periods and a reputation as Probably The Smartest Kid In My Year to uphold. So my parents told me they were getting divorced and I dealt with that by just putting my head down and Getting On With Things, because school was the thing I was good at, and had to be good at. (I got straight As, three subject prizes and Dux of School that year. Fuck you, circumstances.)
To be completely honest, despite the myriad of new stresses it caused, the divorce was kind of a relief because it had been inevitable. I have a very distinct memory of being quite a bit younger that 15 and standing in the kitchen by the doors through to the dining room and listening to my parents shouting at each other in there, and turning to my younger sisters and saying "This is going to end up in divorce." I can only remember a fraction of what went down in the years that led up to it, and not even half the reasons for them splitting up, but there was a lot of shouting when I was a young teen/pre-teen. I spent a couple of years being the shoulder that my mum cried on, and the person that my dad complained to about my mum, and I was about 13 and knew fuck-all about anything except for the fact that someone had to be the sensible one around here and try and mediate a bit. I was the oldest, the younger two shouldn't have to deal with All That, and the last thing we needed was anything or anyone introducing More Drama into the situation. I got bullied at school and I don't think I ever mentioned it to my parents. I do remember emailing one of those support services about the bullying, though, which I have to remind myself every time I think back and I'm like 'but it wasn't That Bad, was it?' I got deliberately tripped on the stairs once. Fortunately both of those assholes grew out of it in a year or two, and I finally stopped being in classes with one of them, although I never managed to get rid of the other guy. Trounced him in the final year physics exam, though, and boy did that feel good after years of "girls can't do physics".
Anyway. Being fifteen sucked, but I was good at school. And I was Sensible, and I didn't get into any of that Teen Drama that fiction and society both seemed convinced was inevitable, I did well in my exams, I didn't make a fuss about anything, I kept my head down and Got On With Things, and then two years into uni I crashed and burned dramatically because turns out I'm autistic and don't deal very well with new situations and never learned how to ask for help *jazz hands*
All this to say, 15 year old me took one look at Remus Lupin, designated Sensible Adult In The Room who was always the one helping other people and being Understanding and never complaining too much about his own situation despite everything always seeming to collapse around him and went ah. That one. That character would Understand. Plus, he was an adult who treated the teenagers with respect while also always being clearly aware that they were still kids and there were some things that they shouldn't have to deal with, and. I had emotions about that. I was never hugely interested in the fandom version of the guy as a teenager, I never got particularly invested in stories about teenagers because I never felt like one myself, but the adult version? He was the crutch that got me through Being Fifteen.
And now I'm 27 and most of the time I'm Fine but every so often (often in November, but not always) this stuff comes back to bite me and I look at all the characters that I care about the most and they're folks like Obi-Wan or Lupin or Hotch or Ironwood, people who are stuck being Sensible or In Charge or both and sometimes end up cracking under the weight of it all and it's like. Yeah. Yeah, I guess all that did fuck me up. And at least now I'm engaging more with characters who get to be angry about their situations. I'm still really bad about being angry about things, it's an emotion I really struggle to express because I associate it so much with a whole lot of shouting that just makes a mess and takes forever to actually achieve anything. I think I'm angry about a lot of things, but part of me is always like 'yeah, but what's The Point, it's not like getting angry now will change anything that happened'. So I just don't. I stall out before I get anywhere. But the characters that I write, both in fic and my own original stuff, are starting to get to Lose Their Shit. I'm getting a little better at secondhand catharsis. It's a baby step, but it's something.
I don't think I'm going to write any of it because engaging to that degree with HP isn't something I want to do anymore, but I could write so much fanfic where Lupin gets to actually get mad about his situation. Where he gets to shout about all the shit he's been put through, all the friends he's lost and all the prejudice and injustice he's faced and how he's tired of being the calm and sensible one who helps everyone else and never gets any acknowledgement from those people about his own struggles. Some of it would be projecting, some of it would be just having an outside perspective on the story that he's in and the way it treated him and how it was bullshit and how that makes me mad because he Deserved Better. How his story ended up being about his own insecurities and how he should just get over them rather than the colossal injustice he'd faced his entire life and the fact that he shouldn't have to be just resigned to it, he should be allowed to get angry and to try and do something about it.
I don't think I'm going to write it, but thinking about it has helped a bit, even though thinking about Lupin was what landed me in the Brain Weird place in the first place. Sometimes you've just got to get angry on behalf of a fictional character because that way you can sidle up to getting angry on your own behalf. Try it out a bit. I don't know. I don't know if any of this is productive or just an exercise in being maudlin, but I guess I'm having the yearly breakdown about Family Shit a bit early this year and it probably doesn't hurt to dust off an old coping mechanism and see if it helps at all.
And at least this time I've gotten another original fiction idea out of it, so I guess that's something. I'll probably talk about that a bit soon, it's a fun one, and I'm slowly working out how to properly use it to get into the fact that to me werewolves are almost always a metaphor for repressed anger and being scared of the mess that you'll make if you let it out. They're a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me, thanks to Lupin and all the personal shit from my life that he got tangled up in, they're that.
And speaking of dealing with repressed anger, I should probably go and rewatch the scene from the penultimate Ted Lasso episode that absolutely wrecked me, which was the one where Ted finally has a proper go at his mum. Because I felt that one in my bones, although in my case it's my dad that I could do with repeatedly saying 'fuck you' to. Blargh. That was definitely the thing that primed me for the descent into Lupin nonsense, that's for sure. Fiction, man. It'll do things to you.
It's nearly 6 in the morning and I should probably attempt sleep, I guess. Thanks for reading if you got this far, this was just a brain dump because sometimes you just need to Put The Thing In Words, whether it's coherent or not, and throw it out into the void.

4. what sports do you play/have you played? I did basketball on and off in elementary school, and my high school tried to get me to join the basketball team there too, but uhhh I wanted to do theatre more and I only had time to do one or the other. 6. what’s the first thing you notice about people? I don't. (I dunno? Height? I'll be honest and say I'm not the most observant about other people lol)
7. what’s your eye color? Blue~
8. scary movies or happy endings? That's a weird dichotomy to present XDDD I guess happy endings if we're talking movies, because I prefer horror in games, writing, comics, and audio mediums slightly more than movies.

Tagged!
I've been tagged in a couple of 'getting to know you' type games, lately, so I thought I'd just stitch them together and get it all answered in one fell swoop. I hope you don't mind. Thanks for the tag, @inkspellangel!
I thought Billy Summers was conceptually pretty interesting, myself, though I haven't picked it up to read. I'm actually in a similar situation right now, trying to get through The Black Farm. I think the trick is to try to sneak in a chapter every day, or if that's too much, just five pages. That's what helps me, anyway.
Thanks for the tag, @ceph-the-ghost-writer!
Do you ever post pics of Mimi? I love the story of how you came by her. Cats do seem to have a marvellous way of just strolling directly into our lives, whether we planned for them to be there or not. Funnily enough, I also have a martial arts background, but haven't practiced in some time. I miss it very much. Also, I liked how you commented a bit in your replies to the person who tagged you that I decided to do the same. What a thoughtful thing to do!
Tumblr media
There are quite a few questions answered here, and I can prattle on. therefore, a cut. I don't often tag in games like this one, but if you read this, and want in on the action, absolutely feel free to do it, and tag me.
Are you named after anyone?
I'm not.
When was the last time you cried?
I don't cry often. I'm not sure that I remember. No tear ducts when you're a skeleton, you know.
Do you have kids?
I can barely afford to have a cat. So no, no kids.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I can be blisteringly sarcastic, though these days I try to use that power for good, for goofs, and for fiction.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I tend to pick up small details. Is there a graphic on their shirt? Are they wearing pins? What kind of earrings have they put in? I have a tendency to try to observe features that will tell me about a person's interests, their sense of humor, something we might have in common, things like that.
What’s your eye color?
I have dark eyes.
Scary movies or happy endings?
I don't see a need to separate these things. Or to choose one over the other, as I like them both, and sometimes a scary movie can still end happily.
Any special talents?
I'm probably the worst person to assess that about myself. It's difficult for me to trust that I am good at anything at all. I have a good memory for books.
Where were you born?
I often tell people that I was hatched out of a wall. My mother worked very hard to get me out. This is how I reinvent my origin without denying her the credit that she's due. But where was the wall? Some secluded alleyway where it is always dark, and always raining, and the street glistens with distorted neon light. Or perhaps it wasn't a wall, at all, but an old tall tree. No, wait, it was a jagged boulder by the sea.
What are your hobbies?
I like to write, of course, and to read. I like to handbind little books when I have the space and the energy. I enjoy movies, and all kinds of television. Currently, I'm using a potholder loom to make a blanket. I have also been known to play video games, though I don't often have time. Right now I'm playing Pokémon SoulSilver My starter is a Cyndaquil that I've given an Everstone, so that he will be adorable forever. His name is Gloucester.
Have you any pets?
I have a beautiful cat with evil in her heart. I call her Wynne Genki Danger. Wynne, after the character from Dragon Age (a grumpy old woman who can't mind her business), Genki after Professor Genki from Saints Row (a mass murderer with a very large cat head who calls death a "reality climax"), and Danger because I have known her both to calculate risks, and to be terrible at math.
What sports do you play/have played?
I played soccer as a child (mostly on defense, but I was also a midfielder). I also trained for quite some while in Yoshinkan-style Aikido.
How tall are you?
As tall as my aura.
Favorite subject in school?
I hated school, to be perfectly honest. I love to learn, but not like that.
Dream job?
I'd love to be able to write full time with my husband. I also think it would be wonderful to be a librarian. I'm a bookseller now, and I like that very much, but I feel like it would be more fulfilling to lend books out, rather than sell them. I like helping other people learn as much as I like learning myself, and I can't think of a much better place to do that. Sometimes I fantasize about working in a personal library/archive that's curated around queer and marginalized voices, our stories, and our history.
Three Ships?
I am being so very brave by not making a joke about boats right now. There's also a brand of skin products that's called Three Ships. Currently I have brainrot about Park Jin/Kim Yeon from Alchemy of Souls, Warwick/York from Requiem of the Rose King or, you know, from history, and Geto/Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen. Bonus mention for Taishakuten/Asura from Onmyoji.
First Ever Ship?
Myself/Dinobot. I kid you not. Beast Wars (or Beasties, depending on your location) was very formative for me.
Last song you listened to?
You're Dead by Norma Tanega
Last movie you watched?
I don't remember for sure, I watch movies somewhat inattentively. I've lately been letting Tubi autoplay, as well, which doesn't help. I think that it might have been Sphere (1998).
Currently reading?
I have a bit of a list, which is not unusual for me. I get on a book-rotation if left unattended, because everything is so interesting all the time. Right now I'm reading: The Black Farm by Elias Witherow, Little Heaven by Nick Cutter, The Plantagenets by Dan Jones, Meat by Joseph D'Lacey, and in the middle of all that, I finished A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay. I'm also getting ready to start Thirteen Storeys by Jonathan Sims, but I'd like to finish The Black Farm and Return to the Black Farm before I do, as I've borrowed those. I was also given an ARC to read of The Story of Us by Catherine Hernandez.
Currently watching?
I just finished Junji Ito's Maniac, and was pleased to discover another collection on Crunchyroll. I've been watching an episode every night before bed. I'm also watching Requiem of the Rose King and am about to start The Exorcist (2016).
Currently consuming?
Nothing at all. Though I likely should.
Currently craving?
Attention, apparently? This was quite long.
