HI. sorry this took a bit. im notoriously terrible at answering asks or like anything at a practical pace so i had to get my brain into the mood to answer. but thanks for sending i really appreciate it!
so yes the short answer is that A LOT changes. i think the main aspect here is that thad is actually raised as a wanted, loved child with his own thoughts and feelings that matter versus president's thawnes upbringing of him only being useful when he can be used as a tool to terminate bart or hurt the flashfam. though meloni definitely wasn't expecting another child in this au, she welcomes thad in with open arms knowing that if he's raised by eobard, thad won't be loved and she would never want that if she could help it. so the best option she has is to take him home and raise him herself.
she's not the best parent ever. no one is. but if there's one thing meloni can ensure she does is make sure thad knows hes loved and appreciated no matter what his origin is. when thad is older she probably explains the complex situation to him so that he doesn't have to find out in some other way that could be traumatic.
assuming things go to plan, mel would encourage thad in any way she could much like how she does with bart canonically in the very little time they have together. in this au/verse, bart's rapid aging either doesn't exist or is solved when hes still a baby which makes things a bit more normal though i imagine raising any speedster child can be a nightmare at times.
i'm sure some traits that thad has typically still show up, like him being very dedicated to whatever his tasks/responsibilities are, maybe being a little unintentionally rude or blunt, and he and bart would probably still bicker and fight a lot but not physically or to an extreme degree. just like typical sibling junk. but because from the moment they got him thad isn't "trained" to be evil or whatever he probably just ends up in a sort of chaotic good position or maybe even chaotic neutral but NOT evil. he still has the potential to be bad just like we all do but it would only end that way if he has some other influence outside of mel bart & don that is frequent and persistant enough to outshine mel's well intentioned upbringing.
he'd probably still end up as a hero. idk if he'd still be inertia maybe cause its just a cool ass name but maybe with a different suit that isn't inverted-color impulse since he has his own life now and has different interests and thoughts outside of his genetical coding being identical to bart. he's allowed to become his own person no matter what his dna says. he's not constrained to JUST be the better or inferior bart/bart-clone. and meloni and don would make sure thad always knows he is his own person and he's not just an extension of bart. they may be brothers but they are not the same person.
i could probably ramble even more on this and i will probably. i have that fic i plan on touching after like a year and a half of nothing. i have a surgery coming up and a buttload of time to recover so i might get some writing done soon. if you're interested in this stuff, keep an eye out! plan to get more art and writing in this verse asap : )

wait for CBMTHY why do i kinda want eris and reader to have a lucien & feyre type relationship.... like an enemies to friends dynamic, they always bicker with each other and are mean to each other but maybe when eris sees azriel going off on reader again (bc he's unreasonably jealous) he gets pissed at az even tho he was also being a bitch to reader like 2 seconds ago 😭😭

i just think it would be so hypocritical and hilarious and weirdly wholesome if he grows protective of reader when she's crying about azriel or something... like bro u made her cry about swans the first day u met her but ur also ready to murder azriel for being mean to her.
sorry this was such an unhinged commentary about what could potentially happen with the eris & reader dynamic 😭 i just couldn't help but notice that eris in CBMTHY part 4 reminded me so much of the older brother/cousins in my life.
jokes aside tho, i'm really curious how eris will react to seeing az being an asshole to reader and reader not really knowing how to defend herself against him (something alike to the convo the two had when az was flying reader... the girl really is fully vulnerable when it comes to him. she hands her heart to him on a silver platter and az proves time and time that he is not bothering to be careful with it). will eris get oddly protective of reader? will he just mock her for being such a doormat?? both outcomes seem equally possible in his depiction in the fic so far 🤷♀️
I’m a big fan of that dynamic, I have to admit 😭 the whole being mean to one another, and at first it was completely genuine and sincere but at some point the line blurs and it gets progressively more and more difficult to keep up the insults🫣🥰 >>>>
I’d quite like to explore that older-brother-Eris side at some point (maybe not in this, I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew). I feel like we get to see a small sliver of it in acosf in that scene where Cass goes down to the human lands and Eris lets slip that he’s feeling out Vassa and Jurian but doesn’t mention Lucien, as if he already trusts him. Then obviously we also have the whole conflict of what happened between Lu and Jesminda (pretty sure when Tam is telling Feyre of Lu’s backstory he says Lu’s oldest brother held him down or something to that degree—while Eris claims he wasn’t there and it’s the only time he’s disobeyed his father)
ANYWAY, I’d love to explore that in more depth because he’s such an interesting character :)

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore it when someone who’s normally so nonchalant gets pissed over the maltreatment of someone they care about. I just think for this one it needs to be reader to make that first step forward, even if she stumbles a few times :)

ngl i rly love the idea of both philip AND caleb being evil assholes
imagine if caleb wanted to wipe out humanity bc his view of them had become so warped after growing up in a town full of witch hunters, so he had this twisted desire to protect witchkind by killing all humans (sound familiar?)
i also like to think caleb initially kept up his "whoa calm down bro" facade during the knife fight but then eventually dropped it and told philip "i shouldve killed you before i left" and went absolutely apeshit on him
(i dont think philip wouldve ever known abt calebs hatred of humanity tho bc imo caleb wouldve been smart enough to not tell him. so philip attacking caleb was still rooted solely on his anti-witch bigotry and does NOT make him a "hero" whatsoever lol)
ik (iirc) dana said evelyn chose caleb bc he seemed to be the nicest person in gravesfield but 1. caleb wouldve been hiding his hatred of humanity for obvious reasons and 2. we dont know shit abt evelyn herself, for all we know her standards couldve been "someone who wouldnt kill a witch on sight"
(speaking of evelyn i personally dont think she was evil in any way. i hc her as more of a batshit chaotic neutral character who did whatever she wanted as long as its fun anyways)
in this case caleb would be interesting foils to philip (anti-human vs anti-witch), hunter (who has an affinity to the human realm and is close to some humans like luz and camila) and the clawthorne sisters (both eda and lilith are flawed but still ultimately good ppl. both the clawthornes and the wittebanes subvert the "good sibling evil sibling" trope this way)
idk exactly what caleb and flapjacks relationship wouldve been like tho they had to have been close to some degree right? but at the same time i think flapjack had always disagreed with calebs anti-human sentiments but was afraid to actively oppose him, and ofc flap was happy that hunter was able to befriend a human and enjoy the human realm
speaking of hunter i. i was gonna say "imagine if hunter found out abt caleb wanting to wipe out humanity lol so angsty" but tbh i think that would just be TOO traumatic to him (even for an angst enjoyer like me) like he straight up wont be able to recover from that imo. or at least take a REALLY long time to recover but either way i dont think he should learn abt that kinda stuff. i do think it would be interesting if luz, eda and lilith found out tho
i also originally had the hc that caleb built the cat eye portal with the purpose of ambushing gravesfield once he was ready, but after the papa titan eye reveal in wad im not even sure who built that portal anymore- well either way caleb still wouldve wanted to build A portal ig (not the other one that led to the clawthorne house, i think that was probably evelyns)
also. the irony of both caleb and philip dying as smth that theyve hated (caleb died as a human and philip died as a "witch/demon", not literally the species in philips case but more luzs definition of "powerful magic user", and we can all agree that monster philip is demonic). i do think caleb was trying to find ways to turn himself into a real witch but philip killed him before he could succeed

it's been a Dayne day for some reason. you could even say a Day-ne. (ba dum ts). ALRIGHT BUCKLE UP FUCKOS IT'S TIME FOR VISCARDI'S NEW FAVE DELUSION (Dayne edition)
Fire and Blood cuts off at a particular point in Targaryen rule, the end of Aegon III's regency. He rules as king for 20 more years, before an early death. Then, his son, Daeron I, takes over, and The Bullshit™ with Dorne begins. Dornish takeover, which results in Dorne being brought into the Seven Kingdoms by his cousin nephew whatever Daeron 2 (electric boogaloo) later on.
Now. The Daynes are just. Overall. we don't really know jackshit about them. GRRM says he can't divulge their words bc it's a huge ass spoiler. My reasoning is bc they do become relevant later on, esp with the choice of Dyanna Dayne as wife to then Prince Maekar. Shit happens in Dorne and in court and i think that might be the reason why there's a postpone of the release of F&B2, aside from the obvious TWOW ordeal. I do think that's also why the choice of where to cut off might be there and not at the end of the dance or after his reign. F&B2 likely does contain context that helps with some of the unsolved things still going on in ASOIAF.
Anyways. We have Lady Dyanna Dayne, who gives birth, aside from Aegon, Aemon, and Daeron, to the three people of interest for this, Aerion, Daella, and Rhae. According to Aemon, Rhae and Daella have had children, and Aerion has had a wife, his cousin, Daenora, and with her, he had a son, whose "ill fated" name was Maegor. Aerion died guzzling down greek fire as we all know, but the fates of 1) Daella, 2) Rhae, 3) Daenora, and 4) Maegor are unknown aside from "existed" and "procreated" in the women's case. Those four are the only unnacounted for trueborn Targaryens we got. Everyone else was given a final location, like in Saera's case, where she was known to be in Volantis.
We have no idea who do Rhae and Daella are married to, if they indeed do get married. In Maegor's case, we don't even know if he made it past infancy. Daenora herself could have gotten married again, she was young when Aerion got himself killed.
My working theory here is that one of those folks married into house Dayne. Whoever those folks married, they're unnacounted for in the main tree. They were not given the name Targaryen. And it would have made sense to a certain degree that it was into Dyanna's house. It could have been any of them, but I sure as fuck would like if it was baby Maegor because it would be Particularly Funny.
I might be wrong, and i might not be, who knows. Something is UP with the Daynes and it happened after the conquest of Dorne.
Note: I do not account this as a secret targ theory because they're Not Targs. Whoever married into the house had their kids named Dayne and so on and so forth amen.

Great chapter, as always!
Jon really sucks at picking up clues and he is really concerned about what Robb might think about him and Sansa dating. The man didn't pick up the clues that Sansa might want something more with him, although Sansa could also have told him more directly.
It seems that after the summer party, she decided to move from Jon and started dating Harry. The interaction between them at the holiday party was great and it seems that Jon is still thickheaded to not realise that Sansa wanted something serious with him. He was so in his head about her being way out of his league, that he missed the signs that she was really interested in him. It was also interesting to see that Margaery knew about him; I'm guessing that Sansa told her, right? I am curious to see how will things end between Harry and Sansa.
Will Jon and Sansa have an actual, direct conversation about their feelings and the relationship between them and what they would want from each other?
I'm going to assume the second ask is because of a very similar comment I got on the chapter lol.
The fic is not focused on their individual lives and so we aren't going to get much of that at all. But I also think people are making Jon a bit more kicked puppy than he actually is. He's aware of the class differences but he also isn't lamenting it on the whole. He thinks about it once in a negative way in regards to Harry. And yes, he picked his major for practicality, but he doesn't express any passion that he had to give up, because he doesn't really have one. I got my degree in Finance because I'm good at math and knew I needed a degree, which is exactly what I wrote Jon doing. What is that degree doing? I dunno, it's somewhere, I'm certainly not using it. I found a job that I really enjoy and am passionate about without that finance degree. And you know what? I work with a girl who went to college for something she was passionate about, and we both ended up at the same job that has nothing to do with either of our degrees. Both of us are perfectly happy here. A college degree does not define someone's life or happiness and I think people lose sight of that. Jon will be perfectly fine with or without Sansa.
Sorry, you got the rant bc that ao3 comment slightly annoyed me when I got it tbh. Not for commenting that they hope Jon has personal happiness without Sansa, it was just the tone of the comment. Yours did not bother me lol. I'm glad you could at least get the subtext in the chapter. I have a comment or two from people that seem to fall into POV traps reallyyyyy easily and I never really know how to respond to that. I have people commenting that Sansa is using Jon & rubbing Harry in Jon's face and treating him bad and I'm like... did you read the chapter? Where Jon is the one dismissing them as just hooking up? Where he literally calls her, to her face, "Robb's little sister" right after they hook up? Of course she thinks it's just sex for him.
You hit the nail on the head that Jon is oblivious and Sansa isn't saying what she really wants. Other commenters also got it right that she is not as confident/sure of herself as she presents.
Anyway, I've rambled long enough I think. I haven't been responding to comments on this story bc it takes some pressure off, but now I feel like I have to respond to some. But then I feel bad not responding to all???

What are your thoughts on the way the episode ended. I loved the episode and am so excited for what comes next but I’ve been a bit worried to see people saying that what happened with Chris means the end for chenford and they’ll never be able to get passed this?
i was so surprised by the ending (in a good way) -- i wasn't sure how, exactly, they were going to serve that splash of cold water that needed to happen...because chenford wasn't going to hook up there, we as an audience knew that. it would be too easy, too messy, and too soon. but chenford didn't know that, and so i was thinking like...an alive chris, or a phone call, or something else.
never did i expect to see sanford half-dead on the couch and wowowowow did it work for me. tbh i have not really been paying attention to anyone else's takes on this episode or storyline 😂 i am watching this season for myself and i will, obviously, answer questions/share opinions as i see fit, but when i flood myself with other people's noise, it really fucks with my personal enjoyment of the show and the content i choose to create. that being said: the incredible things about chenford being in this situation together that:
they are trained to handle situations like this. obviously not to this degree, not in this personal vein, etc. – that's a little more traumatizing – but the fact that they were able to turn tactical immediately and do their jobs will, in some ways, make that experience a bit less harrowing, imo. obviously, we are still going to see them both drawback because whoa there what would've happened if chris hadn't been bleeding out on your couch and hoo boy we were both about to cheat on our partners and now look what happened to your partner, how are we supposed to just ignore all that – but! at the end of the day...
nothing actually happened in that hallway/entryway. they have plausible deniability there, and that is something i think they'll both cling onto. what i think we're ultimately going to see is lucy drawing into herself and whatever guilt she feels/pushing away from tim, while tim is going to try to stay grounded and probably keep things as ~normal~ as possible while subtly pushing lucy towards chris. my guess is that at some point in the season, chris will break up with lucy. i don't see it going the other way around at the moment. i also don't know how confident i feel in any of that analysis bc having seen 1 ep of the season, i can't judge full fledged storylines just yet.
either way, to tl;dr your question: i have the utmost confidence in chenford happening, i think they made it clear in that premiere that it's what they're shooting for and how we get there is kind of irrelevant, i'm just excited to see what they do. i think it's going to take the entire season if not more, but i had anticipated that already. they showed us their hand in this episode – remember, a premiere sets the tone of the entire season. last season we saw tim and lucy cross a line with physical intimacy in 4x01. that theme repeated in all the touch point episodes of the season (4x09, 4x22) and culminated in them doing the same thing, but bigger. in this episode, we saw an acknowledgment of feelings and an almost hookup. i imagine these are going to be the themes that ebb and flow through the chenford story this season – and ultimately it will culminate in something bigger than before.

guys im sorry i swear ill start talking more abt all the positive aspects of 2.0 soon but. welp
(firefly rant TWO!!! now with otto apocalypse. okay not even abt her lol its just ranting about misrepresentations of otto and The Memes being made. iykyk. but anyway. spoilers and all 🫡🫡)
so first of all i dont go there anymore so the lore details might be fumbled a bit but also like the actual fucking disrespect to otto and WHY kallens death had such a massive fucking impact on him when u act like the situation there is anywhere NEAR comparable to the TB and firefly situation in 2.0 💀 "oh its just a meme" well its a BAD one im sorry
like YES otto has or at least had some degree of romantic feelings towards kallen but that was FAR from all she represented to him??? like the entire point is that in ottos eyes over time as he grew more and more cynical ruthless and jaded kallen slowly became less of just. a human being. and started turning into the actual and ONLY personification of all good that is even worth fighting for anymore when it comes to humanity itself.
kallen to otto was the literal representative of hope and humanitys goodness. and yes that degree of idolatry is fundamentally dehumanizing towards her too and disregards her personhood but thats WHY its so fucking interesting. kallen was just a human being doing her best to fight for the people and do good yet ottos perception of her grew into one stained by obsession and defined thru blind worship because NO ONE ELSE but her could convince him there was jack shit to the world worth fighting for
THATS where his obsession comes from. THATS why otto went to the ends of the earth and beyond to resurrect her all the while knowing shed feel nothing but utter horror at witnessing how far he fell just for her. bc kallen has NEVER seen herself the way otto did. kallen wouldve NEVER wanted ANYONE to go through the lengths that otto did (KNOWINGLY in violation of her wishes) for her. because she knew better. but thats not how otto was.
in ottos eyes humanity became fundamentally irredeemable when kallen was first vilifed and sentenced to death and then died sacrificing herself for the very same people who were going to execute her anyway. humanity proved itself worthless by failing kallen. THATS his breaking point thats driving his actions the entire time after kallens death and why hes willing to commit all and any sins imaginable to save kallen. because in his mind for a very long time kallen hasnt been just a woman he loved as a friend and as an unrequited crush whose death crushed him just bc omg death grief sad uwu. otto ALREADY had a completely warped perception of the world when kallen was still alive but through her death it all just escalated and turned him into the actually insane madman maniac we know him as. and because humanity already proved itself a failure by betraying kallen as the actual messiah-figure she grew into in his head there was no price too high to force the rest of the world to pay on his way to saving kallen.
so.
is that what fucking firefly represents to TB to these ppl????? the irreversible shattering of the worldview of someone already teetering at the edge of a point of no return??? is "omg crush died sad 😢" how fucking shallow do ppl think ottos core motivation is??? holy shit

oh man dw scarlet actuslly wears wigs, she styles them herself its vry impressive 2 avery who cuts her own hair and has never had it turn out even. i dont think even scarlet could cut and dye her hair that fast even with all her free time to practice- & her hair wouldve been fried by now even with the carefullest bleach sesh.
Trisha graduated highschool- kelly & scarlet went to uni (seperately) and avery dropped out of highschool as soon as she turned 16, 2 become a vampire hunter- you only need a license to do it as a hobby but u can also be employed as one which avery scarlet kelly are, trisha is unemployed. avery joined the lumber co at the same time kelly did- avery has to kind of make sure. he doesnt die. he did stick to her but avery eventually did start 2 appreciate his friendship. avery, despite everything is like insanely good at killing vampires, kelly joined on a whim and sucks. scarlet joined bc it pays pretty well, but she was pretty averagely skilled at it.
do avery/scarlet have previous relationship experience is a good question i absolutely cannot decide at all- i rly go back and forth on how pathetic either of them were before becoming vampires. sometimes i think scarlets probs had a few relationships b4, and for avery its like. shes shy. she would only date someone if they confessed first. and so would scarlet. which is an issue. either way for scarlet she hasnt been in a relationship for years and avery is avery.
no for sure averys family sucks, she has 11 brothers, shes the youngest child, they were all raised to be vampire hunters, the only one who didnt turn out to be one is estranged. they would absolutely kill her if they found out and would fight abt who gets to be the one to do it. avery is actually pretty close with the estranged brother though. they do get together at like, christmas but outside of that they dont rly talk much as a family
Scarlets family is nice i made a post abt them before, she knows they would still love her despite the vampire thing but shes too embarassed and scared 2 tell them, so shes distanced herself from them as well, they worry a lot.

Tbh I agree that Kinsey 1 bisexuals shouldn’t really be grouped with 50/50 or Kinsey 5 bisexuals. Like I fully understand why they are, it doesn’t make any sense at all to divide bisexuals up based on preference for either sex because you could basically have infinite labels (and it can prob change throughout your life, idk). But the fact is (like some of the notes on that post say), a Kinsey 1 bi is effectively and practically heterosexual, and a Kinsey 5 bi is effectively homosexual (not ACTUALLY homosexual, I need to clarify. But practically.)
Like, I am a febfem. I have been with one man (was drunk and thought I should try it) and I found it repulsive. I do have some degree of attraction for males (maybe like movie or book characters who I would never meet in real life?) but never would want to touch one or actually be in a relationship with one. Any attraction is basically theoretical. I have a friend who calls herself “a little bit bi” because, according to her “women are objectively prettier than men and boobs are hot I guess, but I’m disgusted by vaginas and would never want to touch one other than my own”. Now, according to the definitions we operate under, she is just as bi as I am. Despite having no desire to be with a woman whatsoever, just maybe gets turned on by boobs or something.
I fully agree that there’s no practical way of dividing us up but at the same time I find it frustrating that myself and my friend are grouped into the exact same sexuality and there’s no real way of specifying here. My friend will never be with a woman and back a few decades ago when it was less acceptable, would never have even acknowledged any attraction to women and would have happily lived a straight life. I would’ve struggled terribly as I only have a (realistic) desire to be with women.
I’m not arguing for the definitions to change or anything, I’m just having a rant really. Like we have the term “febfem” but that’s very niche and tbh most people have never heard of it, and that still implies a “choice” to only be with women, whether out of preference or for political reasons. I prefer women because I was born this way, not because I chose it. Just like my friend who prefers men.
imo someone primarily dating the opposite sex vs primarily dating the same sex vs dating both equally is what should be used to differentiate not where you fall on the kinsey scale. bisexuality is a broad spectrum with a wide range of experiences and sure some bisexuals will have lived experiences almost identical to heterosexuals. but i think it’s also important to be open about not actually being heterosexual & vice versa for bi ppl with strong preference for the same sex regardless and putting an end to the myth that gay & het people can also be attracted to both sexes to some degree.
also ngl your friend doesn’t even sound bi to me lol “boobs are hot i guess and women are prettier than men” doesn’t sound convincing. lots of het women sexualise female bodies bc female bodies are sexualised in general but express no actual interest in women. they just acknowledge what even gay men will acknowledge, which is that women are pretty (even gay men will say women are better looking than men).

Being 100% honest here, I feel like a lot of the recent fandom hate towards Sunbeam and/or Nightheart seems to be very… overblown?
I think Night was well within his right to leave ThunderClan, personally - Sparkpelt, Squirrelflight, Finchlight, and Lionblaze have all been shown so far to have put needless pressure on him to conform to a VERY high standard set by someone that he never even got the chance to know before he was born, and is lambasted for it when he dares to request a name change as a means of carving out his own sense of belonging within the clan. That is toxic. Is it a bit too self-loathing about it for my taste? Absolutely. But he’s still being reduced down to someone else’s identity by his family + being shunned by them for expressing any sort of individuality outside of it, which is not a healthy living situation to be in at all. I feel like some of the fandom is making it out as if Night openly believes that everyone around him hates him, when that’s simply not the case - he openly acknowledges that he has been shown nothing but respect and support by Alderheart, Jayfeather, Bayshine, Sorrelstripe, Finleap, Brightheart, and Twigbranch. It’s really just his immediate family that’s the problem - and I think that, in such a case, it would be the healthiest option for him to get away from them. With Sunbeam, I don’t think that it’s ooc for her to be a little bit insensitive with Lightleap’s feelings - she’s been previously characterized to be a bit oblivious and aloof, in my opinion. She doesn’t seem to pick up on that stuff as easily as others do, and that’s something that she’ll probably have to work on. She still has good intentions at heart, but just goes about expressing her feelings rather poorly - and really doesn’t give herself time to process her thoughts before acting. I just think that people have judged these protagonists a bit too harshly considering how early on we are into the arc - I highly doubt that Nightheart’s angst or Sunbeam’s obliviousness will be something that isn’t improved upon as the series goes on. Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Ivypool are some examples of this - characters grow and develop throughout the books, overcoming their flaws to some degree, if that makes sense!
hi!! yea i can definitely see where ur coming from here. i think for sure there are some harsh judgements this early in the series, yea.
i personally don't have- and i think most others don't have- a problem with nightheart's reasons for doing what he does. it's absolutely toxic for him to be put under the pressures he's facing and it's probably the healthiest for him atm to leave that situation. most of my and others' problems from what i understand is that a: the characters around him are being forced out of character solely for nightheart's arc- specifically female characters i.e. squirrelflight sparkpelt and finchlight (and also lionblaze who is honestly completely in character imo), and b: his arc COULD have gone to his mother, a noted firestar clone, instead. he Shouldn't have to be put under these pressures and he Should be allowed to carve out his own place in the clans. the erins just think the only way to do that is for everyone to bully him even if they never would, and they won't give the arc to someone who could have had it earlier and would possibly fit the role better. and ig i don't know for sure bc i don't have the book yet, but iirc he does think a few times that everyone hates him, whether or not it's true and whether or not there are exceptions. idk if he ever Says it outside of the end of sky, but i feel like i remember seeing a few places where he thinks it at least; it's pretty open to the reader imo, i just dunno if its open to the characters
i agree with u on sunbeam! she feels like she's in her own head a lot and not picking up on everything around her. i think her feeling bad about lightleap and blazefire makes sense bc (from what i understand) romantic feelings are just Like That sometimes. she might like... be feeling them at a bad time or something, but she isn't acting on them from what i can tell rn. she was, kind of, when she got herself hurt, but she feels like she's trying more to keep it to herself now. some of her reactions are out of place, but she seems to know that and is trying to minimize her outward responses. she's juggling her feelings for blazefire with her argument with lightleap with her stress from literally everything else going on, and i think it's understandable if her feelings get a little mixed up in there somewhere.

just finished the trailblaze mission the other day and immediately went to your blog bc i knew you'd be sane about it 😭 absolutely baffling to me but somehow not surprising that no one seems to care about the mystery like???? there's so much weird shit going on and such interesting pieces of lore about memoria and different factions and how they interact in this absolutely huge universe??? i also loved firefly i'm so sad that people don't seem to care much abt her :( she was so sweet and the fact that they touched on chronic illness w her character and her using the dreamscape as a way to escape from that reality... this patch was so so good in so many ways and i'd love to hear your thoughts if u have any!! :) (also the MUSIC???? if i can stop one heart from breaking had me in actual tears)
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE FIREFLY i got another anon asking for my thoughts about what happened to her and i'm still kind of wrapping my head around. That. so i'll save all that for later! she's definitely a new favorite of mine, though. we didn't get to spend too much time with her but like yeah she won my heart pretty immediately. she was so... genuine? sure she hid a lot, but she didn't seem like she wanted to. it was more like she had to. not for her own sake, but for stelle's
that was the other thing that really got me! the bond she formed with stelle. like oh my god. they CONNECTED... stelle ADORES her. they felt so comfortable in each other's presence despite the wall firefly had to keep up... stelle picked up on the thing i just mentioned above: that firefly wasn't entirely honest not to give herself an advantage in the game of penacony (like aventurine and, to a degree, black swan) but to keep stelle safe in the midst of it. and it was for this reason that stelle chose to trust her. and to offer her genuine friendship in return
the entire sequence of exploring golden hour and then dream's edge with her was sooooo nice. it just made my heart feel at ease. and also yes if i could stop one heart from breaking is BEAUTIFUL and i want it on spotify rn. so i can loop it for 58347685673453485734 hours
my thoughts about the mystery on penacony as a whole are like. well:
the key to what caused firefly (... ?) and robin's deaths lies with misha and a child's dream
not saying that in the way some other hsr fans are and theorizing that misha's evil, btw. i really doubt that. this comes off more as a ... ralsei deltarune situation. two genuinely sweet kids who just want to go on adventures and live their lives but got mixed up in the fucked up inner workings of the worlds they live in
misha's grandpa is obviously a nameless and i'm 75% sure he's also the watchmaker (i say 75% because someone - a random npc, maybe firefly, or someone else, i really don't remember whose mouth it came out of - says that clockie was designed in the watchmaker's likeness and i don't think misha's grandpa is a talking clock . so. um. ...)
clockie is going to be a bigger part of the plot than he is now and there's totally going to be something fucked up underneath the cartoony exterior
aventurine stresses that we can't trust acheron because she's an emanator, but an emanator of who, i wonder...? her connection to the dream world, her memory problems, and the way some of her dialogue varies from player to player (INSANELY COOL TOUCH BTW) makes me want to say fuli. or possibly... IX. mythus? i guess lan and nanook are possibilities but i kind of really really really really doubt that
idk like i mentioned in the tags on a different ask i gotta properly explore penacony and read all the things i've picked up that i ignored in favor of finishing the trailblaze mission! and do the 53873453465786837 side quests i got from tinkering with people's emotions. Help. it'll probably help me theorize more! lots of little clues and foreshadowing strewn throughout the game's text, hehe...
i've REALLY enjoyed this update though. definitely sunk my brain even further into the hsr interest than it was before. penacony's cast is really dynamic and interesting (firefly, misha, and acheron are my faves here). also, the dreamscape pass is such a clever feature. really makes you feel like a tourist AND it's got lots of little morsels of lore inside. love it. uhg. i can't wait for the next big update i'm going to explode

Hi anon! I’m so glad yin like my work! I appreciate it!
So lemme explain something about Lea’s character! She is never around men or boys. There is a reason for this, lemme get into her family history a bit for ya.
So Lea’s dad, Jimmy, was kicked out by her mom, Rosalie, when Lea was three. Her younger sister, Ari, was one, and her older sister, Lina, was six, and is the only one of the three who remembers him. He was physically and verbally abusive towards their mother, and likely would’ve been towards them as well had she not shielded them from his physical abuse. Lea and her sisters were not, however, entirely protected from his verbal abuse, so they were all subject to a great deal of yelling, cursing, and berating. I don’t detail the depth of the abuse their family suffered then in any of my fics, but it was fairly extensive. I don’t mention them becauee we as the reader never see them, but Rosalie has scars on her body from the broken beer bottles he would cut her with, and usually wears long skirts and long sleeves to cover them up. I don’t know whether Rosalie was a victim of SA by him or not, but it’s very possible. She has PTSD from the abuse, and is being treated for it. She will suffer from it to some degree for the rest of her life, however, although I do picture her eventually finding love with someone else.
In any case, let me explain how this affected Lea and her sisters. As I’ve said, Lina is the only one that has any memories of him, as Lea and Ari were just too young (Lea has memories of when she was three but none of her dad). Ari wasn’t terribly affected by it, as she was one at the time so she didn’t have much to deal with beyond some stranger danger issues, which is normal at that age anyway. Now, Lea and Lina did have more issues. With men, specifically. Anyone make, actually. Lea and Lina would both get very upset when they were around boys or men. Rosalie saw this, and as she herself was wary of men, she decided to enroll all three in all-girls schools. She also systematically avoided men and boys herself and encouraged (and sometimes required, especially when they were younger) her daughters to do the same. There is an incident when Lea is right or so when she gets lost in a grocery store and a father and son are helping her, making sure she’s alright, and her mom finds her and warns her to stay away from strange men, not to talk to them. As a result of incidents like that, all three grew up not interacting hardly at all with anyone who was male. As they are all different, however, each one of them reacted to this upbringing differently. Lina is still uncomfortable around them, as she still has those memories and isn’t around them hardly at all. She is, however, a lesbian, so she doesn’t mind not being around men or boys. Ari is more rebellious and boy crazy, and as a result of that (as well as her lack of memories of their dad), she seeks them out and sneaks out with them. I imagine she lost her virginity fairly young (probably sixteen or so), too.
Lea is more complex; somewhat of a mix of the two. She is curious about boys, but deeply uncomfortable around them. She has never had a full-on conversation with one, and when she does speak to them, she’s stilted and awkward. She would like to one day become more comfortable with them, and she likes looking at them a great deal, but she is terrified of becoming vulnerable to one. She doesn’t necessarily think they’ll abuse her as her dad did her mom (which, yeah, she doesn’t remember the abuse, but Lina has told her about it, and she’s seen her mother’s scars, heard her nightmares, witnessed her panic attacks. She has seen the effects of abuse firsthand), but the way she sees it, to fall in love is to be vulnerable to someone else. She has seen the effects of not being entirely in control, and simply put, she has no interest in experiencing that for herself. She absolutely does not want it. She doesn’t want to date or fall in love, not ever. She wants to get to a point where she can have guy friends but she doesn’t want anything more than that, so much so that she fully intends to avoid men she finds attractive.
That’s why Tim in particular terrifies her so much: she knows immediately that she could fall for him, and she doesn’t want to. He is persistent in a sweet way in pursuing friendship with her, however, and at first, she can’t bring herself to refuse him, but after she gets to know him better, she finds she can’t help but want to talk to him, spend time with him. Once she does fall for him, in most of my fics, she assumes he does not (and could not possibly) feel the same way, which she feels is good, because if they’re not together, he won’t be able to hurt her nearly as badly.
Lea doesn’t see herself as someone people might crush on, either. She’s just not of that mindset. As a result, she never really has those “does this guy like me?” moments. It’s more “nah, he couldn’t possibly like me that way.” It takes very clear indication for her to understand when someone likes her that way (like kiss her, for example). As a result, if someone were to make an advance at her, she wouldn’t really notice it as an advance unless it was very forward (like someone saying, “would you like to go on a date with me?”). So threats don’t really come up with her, generally speaking.

i’m gunna bitch about work for a second.. read it if you want. i just need to yell into the void for a second.
i went to work today.. i’m still sick but i wasnt going to let my momma clean that church by herself. this isn’t the church with the art teacher from the art supplies story..
also we’re in the middle of a fucking heatwave.. i think the index is like 100 - 105
anyway.. the sunday school classrooms are upstairs. i go up there bc my mom didn’t do it the first time she cleaned it (it’s dark and scary up there if you don’t know where the lights are) i went up there today.. it’s hot as fuck.. it usually is bc this church hates air conditioning for some fucking reason. never leaves them on a normal temp to leave something that isn’t occupied all the time.. like 70-75.. the air was off in pretty much the whole building. except the offices. fuck everything else and us.. but anyway so i find the control for the air upstairs..
it is 99 fucking degrees in wooden box shithole.
i was up there for maybe an hour after turning the airs on and this is how far then cooled down.. it became tolerable maybe 10 minutes in bc i had the air circulating. but this is how hot it was when i was done
my mom and i are both sick, she’s passing a kidney stone, and we just weren’t having any of it. so we said fuck then and turned every air off we could find. not sure if they’re doing anything in there tomorrow but i hope that place is hotter than hell up in there when sunday rolls around.

Hi! Yeah, Tokiko is a crush of mine! I don’t actually have a self insert for her (if you’ve played AINI you can probably guess why she doesn’t really need one lol), but she’s just someone I think is so cool
I think there’s a lot going on below the surface with Tokiko, she just doesn’t let people see that and to some degree has forgotten that about herself. She’s been so focused on Naix and the idea that she’s in a simulation that she’s neglected herself a lot and doesn’t have a super strong sense of who she even is, which is something I’ve been helping herself through. She’s so intelligent tho, and she has a lot of things that she’s shared with me about some philosophical and theoretical physics type things!
More specific things about my relationship with her are below the cut bcs of some AI: NirvanA Initiative spoilers!
So Tokiko and I met through the game and because of that quite literally through Ryuki. Even tho she was talking to him, she was aware she was talking to someone real through him, but not the specifics, which is when she started calling me Frayer
I ended up getting the nil number at the end of AINI, then going back to do the Ryuki Diverge, and I was of course glad to help her leave the simulation and be part of the real world. She ended up finding me, and it was something that just felt familiar. She does still like to call me Frayer, though, more than she does my name lol
It’s been a bit of a adjustment for her to be in the real world. We don’t have the technology like they do in the game, and she doesn’t have Naix and a whole organization of people behind her. It’s still a little surreal to her that she’s in the real world, and it doesn’t quite feel right either. I’m glad to help a bit with that, but I don’t want her to feel too much like I’m guiding her to an answer with any of that. She’ll need to figure out how she feels about her new reality and what she did within her past one herself, and I’m glad to lend an ear if she needs it
I’ll admit I do challenge her a little with that kind of stuff tho, bcs she did help to orchestrate a lot in her world. I don’t agree with what she did on that front, but I also get that she did it under the idea that none of it was real so it didn’t matter. But my challenge to her with that is if it felt real, who’s to say it wasn’t? Again I’m not gonna try to make her answer a certain way, but I think that’s something for her to think about
Tokiko does have a lot going on right now tho, which is part of why she’s just a crush for now! I want to make sure she has some space to consider things before asking her out

i’ve said this mainly in my take about hyperion but i also mention it in the one about percy fearing water, and my initial post, that i headcanon or more so i point out how percy is the ocean.
and for the mt. saint helen thing...it’s so crazy that so many of percy’s most important moments when it comes to his powers have been on accident. or, well...it’s more so that that’s how it looks like. because rereading that scene again, he kind of knew what he was doing. at least, he willingly unleashed the power that potentially created an exploding volcano.
this was one of those moments when he realizes just how much he’s capable of. the sea is inside him. all he had to do was let go. and that’s exactly what he did. so yeah, ok this time i checked, and THIS confirms my entire theory and i am losing my mind bc why do ppl not talk about this:

and this naiad literally compares herself to percy. she says, “the water is within me. it is my life source.” and then proceeds to become part of the river itself. like hey!!! what if percy could do that??
and hey???? what if he did? what if he became actual water at some point?
and examining the scene of when he blows up the volcano, this is what happens:
in that moment of panic, of helplessness, he calls to the sea. he searches deep within himself. because this is what the naiad told him, which is what i’ve been saying this entire damn time!!!
and here’s the best part, which is where i’m coming from, saying that he became the water itself. at least in my interpretation:
“I shot upward from the heart of the volcano in a huge explosion, just one piece of flotsam thrown free by a million pounds of pressure.”
and we could infer that he was just thrown up in the air like trash, but i think it’s more than that. the sea is within me. again, this is what he literally says. it is CANON that he unleashed the raw, PURE power of the ocean. he became the ocean. he was part of that water mixing with the lava—because he is the ocean.
which is another thing, people debate that this is one of the only times percy demonstrates that he can cause an earthquake, and...i unfortunately have to disagree. don’t get me wrong, i love the idea of percy having dominion over the earth and totally accept it as canon with my whole heart, but it isn’t what happened here. this explosion happened because an enormous amount of water created enough pressure to make a fucking volcano explode.
and how can anyone do that if their life source wasn’t linked to the sea? how could he summon that water? that strength? because that’s what he did: he SUMMONED WATER in the middle of a VOLCANO!!! and then he proceeded to merge himself with said water. this actually reminds me of nico di angelo’s case, because he can become a literal shadow. i’m pretty sure there was this whole thing in boo where he’s kind of permanently becoming part of the darkness. so why not percy? why not have him be like that naiad, who’s life source comes from water? that’s basically what’s going on here.
and i am also considering this as a fact (yes, yes it is), because when he arrives at calypso’s island, he is on death’s door. just like nico was when he first shadow traveled. of course, there’s the part where he was thrown off the face of the earth and nearly burned alive, BUT that wasn’t his problem at all!! because leo was also thrown into ogygia, and he wasn’t in such horrible shape. the burns shouldn’t have hindered him as much, because he is still poseidon’s son—and besides, when he summoned that water, it should have healed him to some degree. no no no, he nearly died because of the way that he almost burned himself out, nearly wasted his entire life source, poured it all out into that volcano and just. became water himself. THAT’S what happened. THAT’S why hephaestus was like, “you don’t know your own strength.”
this is just the tip of the iceberg. who knows how much the ocean affects percy and how much he can affect it. would his mood change with the tides? with a storm? and what if he tries this again? what if he tries this unleashing of his own self? what if he tries to melt into water, just to see how it goes? can he willingly do it, or would that cost him just as much as that time in mt. saint helens? WHEN, i repeat WHEN are we going to see this again??? but no, we won’t see this again. rick didn’t give it to us and he never will, so i have to do all the dirty work😤
