🎃 Live Reports & Behind the scenes Pt.2

According to the interview from some audiences after the reveal of 6th’s and 7th’s cast, they thought it’s funny that team Bad Boy felt oddly cool to them, while on the other hand, team Hero were also cool but with even more chaotic vibes than the previous one —Everyone did wonder in unison that what went through the organizer’s head when they decided to put them together. Well, Raiden and Saji were the only exceptions since both of them were naturally pretty dedicated to their team titles.

Raiden got a bit carried away as he started laughing like some maniac by the end of his show. And in consequence of that, his temporary teammates were just… letting him be before all left the scene like nothing happened.

Since the beginning of the 9th show, the ladies of team “SolaLune Fairies” were seen solemnly walking out of the backstage with a dark long veil covering most part of their face and their outfits. Each of them were also noted to hold a bouquet with different flowers. Lola were red tulips, Evelyn were blue roses, Moriko were sunflowers, and Miku were moon orchids. But once the first beat of the song dropped out, they suddenly changed their moods and threw their veils away ...showing off their party dresses which were delicately designed just for each of them (ultimate kudos were given to those from the costume team). Thus, the true catwalk showdown began! 

After all the teasing to throw their bouquets to the audience like in the wedding, it was still unknown who those ladies decide to give their bouquets to at the end. Maybe it was their lover/ bestie or etc. Who knows anyway? But as the show title hinted, they might probably give it to their fairest…

Before the 10th show starts, the camera caught Kanade having a high-five with Lola in the same fashion as those two boys from the first half. 

Despite not being much active around these days, Hana Izanami (@snowmantita) was spotted coming here in secret to cheer for her friends.

The 11th show was obviously one of the best highlights of this event, given 6 of them were actually the famed performers to begin with! In addition, Queen card was the one who planned most details of the performance herself. Besides, some of them were really going all-out to the point where they attempted to compete with each other even. No wonder this show received very loud applause as a result, just like their team’s name implied.

There was one funny moment getting leaked out from the backstage. It was the photo of two gentlemen who literally had no idea why they were put in the same line with other talented showmen in the 11th show. Saigo seemed to be deep in thought about how much the staff have spent on props and special effects, while Nishio… He was caught flirting with other participants —Well, let’s hope that he wasn’t flirting with the wrong person there.

Despite the chill and anti-climax vibe that was very contrast to the intense impression from the previous show, the final show performed by team Bakemono was unexpectedly the children’s most favorite! Why was that? The secret of success not only lied in the lyrics of the song, but also its cute and catchy choreography. Moreover, they had also brought in the massive number of candies to throw into the crowd.

And due to some interviews with the parents, they told that this show truly deserved to be the closing show as it was in fact spoke the moral of this spooky event… 

Before the show started, it was a record of five of them chatting with each other. And although it was all according to the script, Asahi confessed that they had retaken it so many rounds he actually lost count of.

And just as the name of their team indicated, they were all wearing the yokāi costumes! For example, Asahi was the Oni, Kohaku was attempting to look like Kasa-obake (even if it came out rather funny), Taria was Karasu tengu, Honoka had animal ears so maybe she was bakeneko or kitsune, and Ayaka wore triangle headband with a kimono to represent the yurēi ghost.

From what live reports said, despite being the performers of the show, both Asahi & Kohaku were noted to really enjoy their time the most —These two spiritual(?) twins loved throwing candies like they’re playing with snow, while Honoka and Ayaka might seem a bit stiff due to their not so great experiences with people. However, Taria was the one making them warm up and enjoy the moment just like other children did —Who else would understand the kids best if not someone with a children’s heart?

Miku Wrap-up 2022

Another year comes to an end and it's time to look back and reflect, so here's my top 10 favorite Mikus of the year!

#10:

While this has a few janky bits that keep it from being higher up I can't help but adore her smarmy ass look, the foot up on an unoccupied chair and the little details with the dice and the cards.

#9:

This one, inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, is just so ridiculous I can't help but love it. It's somewhat a spiritual successor to the Goya inspired Miku and emulating the style/appearance of such old art was a joy, as was filling in the gaps with a few Miku related references.

#8:

Speaking of the ridiculous, this Loss meme parody I titled Gain.png still gets me. Doing the Gumi for the body pillow was also fun and Miku is very cute in this.

#7:

I have no idea why I drew this even then but fuck me is it good. Don't think I've drawn a pony since a few poor attempts over a decade before this. I love how AJ came out and the idea of like, Applejack carrying home a drunk Miku while chiding her for having too much cider is so fucking good to me.

#6:

This one is rather simple honestly, but I just love how clear the silhouette is and the highlights from the back lighting. This was inspired by an AURORA concert my sister invited me to.

Im still very happy with how this came out, especially in regards to the lighting. I feel like I made a lot of headway here as an artist, even if parts of it could stand to be cleaner.

Hatslimey Migoo looks so relaxed here, the details I was able to include for the room such as the water under the door are great and the small bit of landscape outside the window is something I'm extremely proud of. Had I just a bit more time with this piece I think it could have placed even higher.

This one's a bit special cuz uh, it's fucking me lmao. Not only is this my high school duds, the location is also based off the liquor store I used to bum around at after school senior year. I still have the pants (they're more shredded now) and the black and white sleeve (actually leg warmers). The only real anachronism is the black nails- my dad wouldn't let me do that cuz he said I'd look like a fag lmao. Looking at this piece brings me just immense amounts of joy and soothes that part of me still in highschool and mad about it.

#2:

Honestly this and the #1 spot are really tough to decide which goes where but I think I'm happy with this. Based off some AI generated text (no doubt written by Miku herself) Not only is this the most successful piece I've done notes-wise it's also my first one where I drew more akin to painting then to coloring cleaned up lines, a process I made a ton of progress with over the year. There's very few things about this I would change (namely a few details in the final panel) but the way this comic is laid out was and is excellent. I feel this piece is the biggest jump in overall quality I had during the year.

Honorable mention:

While i do adore these, especially the top left and bottom one, there are a few issues that keep it from being in the top 10 properly. I also wanted to avoid this list being just every Hatslimey Migoo piece which actually brings me to the final entry and my favorite Miku of the year 2022-

#1:

The original Hatslimey Migoo, before she even had that name. This piece is very interesting because I had pissed away most of time and couldn't do the Miku I had thought about doing up to that point. Unwilling to do proper anatomy either, because again, I had gotten too wrapped up in runescape and was low on time, It popped in my head that I could make her a slime girl. I can't mess up getting bodily structure right if there is no proper bodily structure after all. The result couldn't have been better. She's so cute and adorable and this is easily the best original design I've yet to do for Miku. I doubt I'll top it for some time. The pieces came together naturally- her color had to be green to give her that Miku color, she had a few spots to give some detail, her arms were bulky to be reminiscent of her sleeves the headset was to help push visually that this was, indeed, Hatsune Miku and her eyes were pink to stand out and draw attention to them. Created in haste, Hatslimey Migoo has gone on to fill my heart with joy (and slime) and if I could pick any of my Mikus to be adopted by the wider vocaloid fan base it would have to be Migoo.

Thats my top 10 for 2022, I'll see you next year to wrap up this year- I'm sure I'll make even better Mikus! how much do you know about UTAU? can you send me some you think are cool? i don'tknow much about them but i like them. also there was this one vampire guy UTAU whose name i forgot that i liked i think

I LOVE UTAU i used to use it before i caved and pirated vocaloid (and eventually bought synthV) because um it is NOT intuitive to use especially anything that isn’t just a CV bank but i did always like that for pitch bends you straight up just out points On the piano roll which is almost exactly how synthV does it, vocaloid4 didn’t have that and it Sucked but anyway UTAU is fun and easy to get into the backend of to fuck with things like note blend and syllable velocity especially when it comes to re-editing the oto of a voicebank which i always found very tedious but Super satisfying and like therapeutic as long as it’s not for a VCCV bank or god forbid a CVVC bank.

anyway yes i like UTAU a lot but i’m not super familiar with most voicebanks just because since Literally Anyone can make an UTAU voicebank there are SO GODDAMN MANY like i made a couple at some point. never released it and the files were lost when my old hard drive went kaput but still it’s not that hard at all so you can see why there are So Many. the only ones i’m really familiar with are of course kasane teto, momone momo (who you may know from singing the nyancat song since the version nyancat uses is a cover featuring her), defoko/utane uta (the default UTAU voicebank who was made Not from a human voice but rather a text to speech program), and kazehiki (who i always thought would be a good voiceclaim for hibiki)

if you wanna hear good UTAU shit definitely check out tanjiro taidana he’s like the god of tuning teto and he also does shit with other UTAU too like sukone tei and yokune ruko and namine ritsu who are also very very popular UTAU

i always like when he does covers with a multilingual verse i always adore that shit

anyway i think the group of teto, momo, defoko, ruko, ritsu, and tei are like the BIG UTAU those are the ones most people are probably most likely to know or have heard of, they’re like the UTAU equivalent of the crypton vocaloids + gumi and gakupo i think.

also: not tanjiro taidana, but this is my FAAAAAAAAVORITE cover of anything utilizing defoko. flash warning though

i love defoko so so much i think she is my favorite UTAU besides teto cuz teto’s like the miku of UTAU everyone loves teto. but defoko is my other big favorite i should draw her again. and the others i mentioned too

Matryoshka Gakupo cosplay, made by yours truly~

What if the cosplay requires a really cool hoodie, but you don’t have the skills (yet) to make an entire hoodie out of scratch? Just buy one and adjust it! The only difficulty there is finding a hoodie in the correct colour xD

This was made in 2011, when making hoodies was still very difficult for me, but making patches wasn’t. The adjustments are mainly fabric patches with satin stitched borders, vlies-o-fix backs (to iron them on the hoodie) and some fabric paint for the details. For the eyes of the smiley on the back I used some yellow sateen to give it some nice shine~ It’s slightly easier to make them separately, so an entire hoodie doesn’t get in the way of the small details.

While Matryoshka is one of the older Vocaloid songs out there, it is still so iconic. It remains so much fun to listen to~ (swipe all the way to the back to hear the beginning 8D ). So many covers exist and I just love the Gakupo version, both the cover and the outfit. I don’t know who designed Gakupo, so if you know, plz tell me~

PSYCHIC TYPE MIKU - 4/10 it's fine. its the closest to base miku of all the designs? like this is what i'd imagine if we got a miku collab in the newest games. nothing about ti really says psychic type to me though, which is why its low

GRASS TYPE MIKU - 2/10 i hate this design. not only is it boring but i don't like the colours, i think it looks messy and it might be the style disconnect or the design itself but if you didn't tell me who this was i wouldn't think it was miku. a grass type cheerleader doesn't sound like a bad shout which is why im so sad it sucks

FIRE TYPE MIKU - 5/10 . its just basic. it gets one point more than psychic because i have fire type bias but other than that its underwhelming. idk whats going on with her legs either? is it like exposed robotics? idk its just a miss for me

WATER TYPE MIKU - 8/10 this is so cute. the water textured hair, the tan lines, the like lifeguard gear(?) and the pokeball beach ball? it all comes together so well. i don';t think you can really go wrong with a water type design? even if i don't love water types myself you can't deny their designs just come together

ELECTRIC TYPE MIKU - 10/10 oh baby girl my BIAS i fucking love electric miku. shifting her blue accents into green, giving her a suit and making her a split-dye blonde were all such good decisions. i love the silhouette of the big puff pants tucked into the rubber boots and the suspenders with the lightening cane. everything about this makes me so happy

NORMAL TYPE MIKU - 9/10 i might be going back on what i said with psychic miku but to me even though it's very reminicant of base miku, it works better AND does enough to set her in her own typing. the multicoloured accessories, the rings, the glasses and the body suit. if we ever did get a real collab of her in game i hope this is the direction they'd go

ICE TYPE MIKU - 8/10 full disclaimer so much of this is just because im obsessed with her hair and suit combo. shes not outright evil looking like dark type but i still feel like shes a rival with a lot of power, anbd tbf a lot of ice type characters are made to be Icy in personality. my only gripes are the red bag chain and the open heels

ROCK TYPE MIKU - 6/10 its fine! it might be because i dont like the colour scheme or that i'm not a huge fan of all the flowy fabric, (especially because it directly follows ice type miku which made a point to utalise the sharpness you'd associate with ice) but i just doesn't wow me.

GROUND TYPE MIKU - 7/10 i really love this design, i adore the colour scheme and the cactus braids, i think she looks like a trainer you'd be ambushed by in the desert and the soundtrack would kick up and it'd RULE... my drawback is i don't think she looks like miku? i thought she was gumi at first and now i can't really unsee it. but eh im nitpicking

FLYING TYPE MIKU - 5/10 again, i like it but its very standard for a flying type character. the cloud braids and the sheer sleeves are fun! they're definately my favouritre part of the design. idk why her legs are painted white, i think they look kind of silly and im confused about the platform sandles but other than that its fine

FAIRY TYPE MIKU - 6/10 a cute miku design for a cute pokemon type, can't really go wrong with that. i enjoy that they didn't go lolita style with her, which i fully assumed was going to the case, but instead a gal type with the fake nails and pleat skirt. i enjoy that its a different way of doing a look for miku we've seen plenty of times before

BUG TYPE MIKU - 6/10 i don't hate it! very simple but very effective. i like the segmented limbs, the insectoid braids, the wing bow that looks like butterfly wings. i'm just not super enthusiastic about the colours. maybe i'm just used to bug types being Creepier in my head so to just have her be cutesy is boring to me

POISON TYPE MIKU - 9/10 this is such a baity designnnn the only reason i didnt give it a 10 is because i hate that shade of green but thats a personal issue. the plastic baggy shoes, the toxtricity, the mad scientist goggles and latex gloves... it all comes together so beautifully. idk if its like too busy or again, maybe i just personally don't love the individual colours used. i really hope elements of this design are used for a future character

GHOST TYPE MIKU - 4/10 i honestly don't like this design. yeah lets make the ghost type miku... a ghost, and nothing else. i think it's really boring compared to all the other ones. the glitch element is really cool but that's... all thats going for it? the colour scheme is the same, the neon is boring and i think everything is very stylish for pokemon but idk i wish it was more unique

DARK TYPE MIKU - 10/10 babe holy shit. this is a gorgeous design, i'm so happy they went an evil miku route with it. i was going to say i wish there was more red, and then i noticed the underside of the hat in the other concept so i'm happy. shifting the cyan to the bottom of the design is a really good call. she looks expensive as she should

STEEL TYPE MIKU - 10/10 absolutely beautiful colour scheme, shifting everything to metalic shades of blue is perfect. i think it's my favourite overall. very strong typing without them just doing Robot which i assumed. LOVE the metal braids with the welded patches the most, and i jsut noticed theyre kind of shaped like leeks. the charm on the sandogasa and the arm/calf guards really bring it all together

FIGHTING TYPE MIKU - 8/10 the black, white and orange is gorgeous and i love the splash of green connecting to sir farfetched. i'm just not inlove with the leg split tbh, i think if it was a cape i'd like it more. i think my main drawback is idk it doesn't scream fighting type to me other than it being based on the pokemon

DRAGON TYPE MIKU - 9/10 AND IMMEDIATELY MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED. the cape really completes the knight motif of this design perfectly where i think the previous one lacked. the scale decor jumpsuit, the gauntlets and boots, the SWORD MIC and the tail braids. they really did keep getting better and whilst this isnt my favourite its such a strong finisher

Hi I've been meaning to ask, synthv/vsynth is like vocaloid roght?

Yes, it is! But Vsynth and Synth V are two different things.

If you're familiar with Vocaloid, then Synthesizer V (sometimes shortened to Synth V or SVS) is software similar to that. You input notes and lyrics and tune everything so the little robot singer sings.

Vsynth (short for virtual synthesizer or vocal synthesizer) is the catch-all term for these types of software, and the vsynth community uses it to refer to these programs, because there's a lot of them! Since the rise and popularity of Vocaloid, there's been a lot of competitors that have popped up in recent years, and they're all from different companies, so we can't refer to all of them as just Vocaloid (just like how we can't refer to every vsinger out there as Hatsune Miku - also fun fact! Miku hasn't been a Vocaloid in YEARS PIAPRO TOOK HER)

Here's a crash course:

VOCALOID is a vocal synth software by YAMAHA. It's the most popular one out there but sadly, it's fallen behind lately. It's not the thing that sings, it's the thing that makes the little singbots sing. It's the engine. Most of Vocaloid's voicebanks are provided by other companies - Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin and Len, and Megurine Luka are from Crypton (and they yoinked them back); Kaito and Meiko are native from Yamaha, Gumi is from Internet Co, etc, etc. You get it. The old versions of Vocaloid have been discontinued and are stupid hard to find. Their latest release is V6.

PIAPRO STUDIO is the engine Miku and the other Cryptonloids are now on.

CEVIO is another vsynth software out there. If you remember IA (you know, Miss KagePro herself?), she was pulled out of Vocaloid and moved to Cevio, and her sister ONE was released there too. CEVIO has come a long way since the IA days. We got shit like ROSE and POPY now.

ACE STUDIO is also another vsynth engine. I've never used it myself, but I know people who have. IIRC they're planning to use a subscription model (most software including Vocaloid are one-time purchases - you get the engine and the vb separately but you only have to get them once), so you get the engine and the voices but you pay a monthly fee. The English UI is still in development but there are community-made guides out there for those who want to use it. It's still in beta I think so you can test it out. It is SO GOOD.

And then there's SYNTHESIZER V STUDIO (which I personally, along with most of the community, think is THEE leading vsynth program currently). You still have to get the engine and vbs separately for this one but there's a Synth V Basic which is free (it just doesn't have a couple of features like crosslang, scripts, etc). Vocaloid Xingchen (Stardust) was moved here, and LORD. Listen to her

Synth V also has the most English vbs amongst all modern vsynths, I think, and the Pro version has crosslang so the vbs can sing in English, Chinese, Japanese (or another language if you get a dictionary - the community has made a lot of them and they've got them up on github). And they all sound FANTASTIC

To be bluntly honest, I didn't think the day would come soon...I guess I still plan to talk about My Fankids in separate posts with much more detail where I have better built their info...but I guess a definition of each of them my Fankids wouldn't hurt!...I Guess...

(Arranged from oldest to youngest)

Summer (12): Gumi and Yuuma's eldest daughter. A girl who at a jovial age is usually someone responsible and a bit mature, resulting in being the voice of reason in the group and who makes sure to take care of her siblings like the rest of the children. Likewise, she does not take away from the fact that she is someone endearing and who knows how to have fun so as not to stress with her homeworks and schoolworks.

Kankyō (10): Gumi and Yuuma's middle child. He is usually someone sensitive, calm and of few words, Kankyō mainly spends his time living with Souta, Renji and Arashi, and like his older sister, he acts as the voice of reason for these three (I'm sorry I don't have many things to explain about my boy ;-;).

Souta (9): Younger son of Kiyoteru and Meiko. He is a complete contrast to Yukiko, a rebellious and unruly boy who often brings fun to his friends/cousins by unconsciously getting into trouble. Although, it seems Souta does not learn from his lessons, he tries to be a better son for his parents and a good example for his group and the rest of the children so as not to be seen as a bad influence.

Rabenda (7): Gakupo and Luka's eldest daughter. A "flower girl" (forgive the redundancy that her name is Lavender in Japanese), the small lady of her family who loves to play with dolls, have tea parties and dress up like a princess. She loves her parents, siblings, grandparents, uncles, cousins and friends so much and Rabenda would never be able to leave them.

Sachi (6): Gumi and Yuuma's little daughter. Being the little sister of Summer and Kankyō, she is very cared for by her parents as well as her siblings, except that Kankyō is not as "relatively close" to her. Sachi is a very curious girl and asks "why?" her not understanding what happens around her.

Fujiro (4): The second child of Gakupo and Luka. On few occasions he made it known that he is an infant with a big brain, a small prodigy among his family. But Fujiro at the end of the day is a little boy and wants to spend more time with his loved ones and play games, than immerse his brain in books and complicated words.

Nyuto (6 months): Kaito and Miku's baby. Along with Shinichi and Natsumi, he is more cared for by his parents and siblings, considering that he is an infant, his personality does not develop, it is only stated that he is very tender with his family as new people who love have to know.

I could only talk about half of them since I reiterate; the other Fankids belong to @ask-the-vocafamilies and with his permission he let me add them in my universe which means that most of them don't change from their original concept...with three exceptions that stay away from the original Fankids concept of Vocafamilies. I would like to clarify, he also accepts this, so a brief summary of them will also serve for this post:

Yukiko (17): Older daughter of Kiyoteru and Meiko, and older sister of Souta. Unlike the original Yukiko, she is a very shy, insecure girl and is usually very close to her family for fear of talking to other people (with the exception of the other Vocaloids and their children). This is because she grew up almost locked up at home, without going to school in a calm way because Kiyoteru and Meiko were not in the best of moments with their Vocaloid lives...

Shinichi (Aka. Shisui) and Natsumi (Aka. Uzumi) (3 months): Baby twins of Gakupo and Luka as well as the younger siblings of Rabenda and Fujiro...yes...I think that just saying this description gives Let's see what are the ones that have had the greatest change when it comes to integrating them into my universe—

Mellowcle - Eccentric (ft. ALLEN) [Miku ver.]

Both versions were uploaded at around the same time, but the ALLEN version wins out to me out of novelty (first original I've heard with him, and he sounds pretty good at Japanese for an EN bank) and some small things on Miku's ver I didn't like (wish she was a bit louder, especially in the rap parts imo.) Still, the tuning is fantastic on both versions (low Miku my beloved), and the song itself is groovy, so give both a listen.

Inugami - Yoiguse (ft. GUMI V6)

More V6es! First non-demo GUMI V6 I've heard. Love the slight English accent she seems to have.

halyosy - Flyway (ft. Kagamine Len, KAITO)

I have a soft spot for Len and KAITO duets (thanks erase or zero. and CrystalP in general.) Combined with the fact that this is the first halyosy original in 2 years or so made me leap out of my chair. Their Len has a special place in my heart.

ShareotsuP - Souji no Baachan (ft. Mai)

This is one of the producers I was expecting a Luka anniv song from, so this was out of the left field! Was also not expecting a hype rock/metal song with fun visuals, but I'm not complaining about that.

SLAVE.V-V-R - BAKU☆NEW Yuzuki Yukari (ft. Yuzuki Yukari, Kizuna Akari, KAITO, MEIKO, Kagamine Len, Otomachi Una, Amy, Ken, KAFU, COKO, Kaai Yuki, kokone, SF-A2 Miki, Hatsune Miku, Nekomura Iroha)

The NND 2023 Joke Song Festival is mostly inaccessible to me due to the language barrier, but I caught on to this one quickly due to the quality song and straightforward joke (hey what if Yukari had big tits.) Aside from Big Tits Yukari that I have very strong opinions about, it was cool to see this interesting vb ensemble and SLAVE.V-V-R's custom models for them. Wonder if they'll ever release a song with some of these vocaloids (how much do I have to pay for a SLAVE.V-V-R KAITO original.)

meno - jyuru jyuru♡perorin♡♡ (ft. KAITO)

Good tuning, the extreme pitch drop in the voice for the chorus, the general polish of the song... kinda pissed at how good and catchy this yandere song is.

Teddy Dare - Suna no Kioku (ft. flower)

Just discovered this producer! Saw DOOM on the recs tab and it caught my ears immediately so I had to check out their other stuff. Interesting soundscape with a wobbly synth bass, brass instruments, and synths. Great animation too.

#631 - Yelling Together (shr) [Kagamine Rin, Ren]

Achievement Date: 21-04-04, Upload Date: 12-07-23

An interesting song with a very odd but nice groove. I think this might be shr’s most Japanese song yet. A lot of imagery, as per many traditional songs, not sure if this is a love song or more general, but it’s not a bad song.

#632 - Goodbye Sengen (Chinozo) [flower]

Achievement Date: 21-04-05, Upload Date: 20-04-13

A minor hit for Chinozo but blew up after the New Year and eventually became the first VOCALOID song to pass 100 Million views on YouTube. Very much fits the corona vibes of the time and the iconic pose made for a quick impression. 

#633 - Vocaloids Only Repeat Two Chords Yelling "Tettet-Tetteree"

(GYARI) [Rin, Len, Yukari, Iroha, Miku, Luka]

Achievement Date: 21-04-23, Upload Date: 17-04-28

Kind XFD version of the Two Chords Series, combining the best bits of the three songs. A lot of the parts were shuffled to different VOCALOIDs which makes for a different take on the three songs. It’s a great 30 minutes, and this is the short version.

#C-4 - Cute Girlfriend (syudou) [Kafu]

Achievement Date: 21-04-29, Upload Date: 21-02-20

Now we enter the KAFU section of the list, there are seven of them, and next one won’t be there for ages. So these seven are special in a way. This is the beginning of the Girl/Boy series by syudou, and the most famous of all of syudou’s songs. I think the song capture the intricacies of KAFU pretty well and it’s pretty quick too.

Hi! I wanna people save! English so bad that it comes back out to be cryptic… but the song itself is nice, sure it is a follow-up to KING, but I think it’s a good follow-up to KING, a nice mix of what worked before and new, intriguing ideas. 

#635 - Nocturnal Kids (DECO*27) [Hatsune Miku]

Song written as a collaboration with Bang Dreams, I believe. It’s a good song, regardless. Well, it has good parts but it doesn’t jell as a whole, unfortunately. Would have been nice if he stuck to a single idea, like his next song on the list. 

#636 - SCREAM (Umetora) [GUMI]

A rare recent Umetora song, which has him strip back to solo songs. Nice use of GUMI’s dual language mode and much more refined gravure idol track, although I kind of like the business of his earlier song, to be honest. This is very good though.

#637 - Telecaster B-Boy (long ver.) (Surii) [Kagamine Len]

Long version adds a couple verses here and there. I like the theme of being yourself outside the confine of society, and another pretty clear TG theme here. Yeah, it ends with the couple killing themselves, but they are dancing in the PV! How fun…

Another funky depressing song but the master of those, one of Neru’s latest efforts, another song about everything falling apart and throwing all that failure away, now with more jazz swing and so on… I think ProSeca related, but not original?

#639 - Vampire (DECO*27) [Hatsune Miku]

A song that shows DECO*27 is still at top of his game, he has a thing where he sees the trend and just… makes it his own. And the TikTok really works in his favor as he is able to concentrate on a single idea rather than string many unrelated ones. This is the seduction and the initial high portion of the Mannequin album, so… yeah.

#640 - Jackpot Sad Girl (syudou) [Hatsune Miku]

Achievement Date: 21-05-31, Upload Date: 20-10-24

A ProSeca song, for a Niigo event about heading out into society, and which syudou was in a similar position, apparently! That’s the first half, the second half is another response to Sand Planet, because that has become a genre of itself. Why do this on a commissioned work? Because he felt he needed to say in a commissioned work, as Sand Planet was a commissioned work itself. It’s biting in more ways than one.

miku is 😍😍 lots of her songs are bangers + she's like the most popular vocaloid so how can you not like her?? tbh i kind of favour len over rin though that might be because i love the song migikata no chou 🤪🤪

my favourite has got to be gumi!! i love everything about her, her design, her voice, her carrot 😋 plus, one of my first vocaloid songs was matryoshka (with gumi and miku) and i just loved how her voice matched with the theme of the song,, i also really like kaito, the authenticity in his voice just hits different and the same way you think with luka, i like to think if him as the older brother :)

IN TERMS OF UTAITE, OFC, MAFUMAFU AND SORARU ARE SUPERIOR /lh i remember listening to their cover of roki on loop during history class once HDHSJD but i also really enjoy nqrse and miyashita yuu! both are kind of underrated in my opinion, but they're both amazing, and their vocal ranges are eye opening! and also, reol! her songs are so different /pos and it's so fun to see her grow in popularity 😩🙏

so i saw that you can do OC's with ultimates executions so uhh- Ultimate Vocaloid Musician execution? kanfhejsnfjwjdn sorry this is kind of awkward-

Ultimate Vocaloid Musician’s Special Execution: Circle You

Yet another anon to disappoint HAHA. I cringe every time I proofread my work smh.

They stood atop the stage gazing upon the sea of glow sticks that were moving beneath them, each carried by a thousand monochrome bear. The flashing lights almost blinded them. The sounds from enormous speakers were fading away with the last pluck of an electric guitar. They were in a school earlier, but now they’re in a concert? What the hell was going on?

"Everyone! Thank you for coming tonight! And for our final performance, we have a special guest, our very own Ultimate Vocaloid Musician! Our master! Our... manipulator," the twintailed character whispered what seemed like a threat. It was like her voice was filled with venom, almost paralyzing the Musician's whole body.

They snapped out of it and turned around, and found the ones they manipulate with their talent. Familiar 2d— no, 3d figures standing behind them. They waved at them maliciously and then returned their attention to the crowd.

The sea of bears cheered when they heard the announcement. Their heart raced as the screams reached their ears. Well, it's not like they can’t sing, right?

The intro of the song rolled in. The song was familiar and that's when they realized that it was a song they made. The lyrics were lively and they were with their vocaloids. Even though Miku and the others just did something creepy earlier. But what better way to have fun during your last moments?

The melody of the songs they composed made the idols around them bounce along the beat, and they did too. The hype was kicking in, and the flicking of light sticks just added to their enthusiasm. Feeling the rush, they started to dance along the music too.

But there's something missing. Despair.

As they were about to sing the first line, all if the lights went off and everybody groaned in disappointment. As if they were already expecting it.

They stood still at the center of the stage frightened, hoping that someone would pick them up. Someone. Just get them out of the darkness.

As if a god heard their prayer, a spotlight lit up in the corner of their eye. It was steadied on Miku. And soon enough, spotlights shine in each of the vocaloids on stage. And the last one to be shine on was them. The crowd seemed to be glowing red. All of them. Not because if the light sticks but because of their crimson eyes.

The vocaloids had their head down. The ultimate wondered what was wrong with them. Miku, being their favorite vocaloid, First one to be approached. Before they were in arms reach,  Miku's head shot up. The musician was horrified to see pitch black filling the vocaloid's hollow eyes. It seemed to be staring right through their soul. Terrified, they tried to find sanctuary in other idols but they had the same state. Fukase was creepy enough because of his eerie clothing. Gumi lost her usually soft face. And Luka didn't have a trace of care and sisterly aura around her. The twin vocaloids were still smiling, but it was worsened by their voided eyes. They were all the same. Hollow eyes that looked like their souls was sucked out by something demonic. Or maybe... they're the demons?

They started gathering around the talented, backing them to the edge of the stage.

"Kagome, kagome..."

Everyone, literally everyone in the arena sang with the vocaloids. Come on, this is a concert, but why the cold atmosphere?

The figures were nearing them. They ducked and dug their nails into their head, but not deep enough to cut. They clenched their teeth, hoping that everything would be back to normal. This was just a dream? Yeah. For sure. Let me just wake up...

Multiple pairs of pitch black eyes greeted them as she opened theirs. Their grins made it worse. They were going to be insane at this point. They need to get out. Fuck this, I'm gonna run it.

They dashed past the figures, distorting their forms as they passed through their holograms. Their footsteps were not the only one pounding in their ears, there was also their heart. They ran past the many Monokumas and ran straight towards the exit. That's hope right there. Behind those doors. But to their big surprise, the famous Vocaloid idol, Hatsune Miku was there. No more lunch black eyes. The normal, soft-faced Miku. They smiled in relief at the hologram which was smiling back at them. They fell down her knees and almost sobbed. They looked up to see the vocaloid's face one more time and reached for Miku.

"We need—"

Their sentence was cut off with their head flying a few feet away to their right. Miku had swung a hatchet and they didn't even notice it.Their pink blood stained Miku's cheek. The hologram wiped it off as their body slumped down on the floor, more blood spilling from their beheaded neck.

"Ew... gross." Each of the Monokumas commented.

The concert lights were back and everyone cheered on delight.

"Everyone, let's get this party over with!"

THIS WAS CRAP HAHAHA. Tbh, this looked more like an imagine instead of an execution. Sorry if this is so half-assed, anon. Also sorry for making you wait for so long. I hope you at least liked it or something.

Actually, not all Vocaloid songs are earstrain!

I mean, the first Vocaloid you listen to was The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, right? ....yyyeeeaaahhh i think i see tge misunderstanding-

Okay, so uh, here are some songs i would NOT recommend listening to as a beginner!!

Secrets of Wysteria - Steampianist. The song covers INCREDIBLY dark topics. Its not earstrain but it talks about Grace Budd, who was a victim of Albert Fish. Do i need to say more? I'd rather not-

The Disappearance/Intense voice of Hatsune Miku - I dont remember </3. HOLY SHIT- The songs are so fast that its basically gibberish!!! Yikes-

Lost Ones Weeping (Specifically the Jade S cover). The original is fine (somewhat), but both are REALLY LOUD!!! The Jade S cover also includes screaming! But im pretty sure Miku actually held the record for The Highest Note Sung for a while because of that song so- the original is sung by Rin and the cover is sung by Fukase n Miku!

But, i have some songs that are good for beginners!

Wolrd is Mine - Hatsune Miku (im gonba start listing the Vocaloids that sing, not the creators/producers!) SO FUCKING ICONIC- Not rlly earstrain either!

Any of Ghost's songs!!! Ghost makes really good music thats pretty good for beginners! I think the best place to start is Colorbars or Broadcast Illusion! TWs are at thd beginning of all their songs :)

Any of Kira's songs too! Kira has made pretty iconic songs like Machine Gun and Circles, and GUMI has amazing english!!!! I personaly think Circles is the best place to start!

Here are my vocaloid headcannons oops

Miku: All of her emotions are very intense. Screams a lot. Oblivious and kinda dumb af. Doesn't like when people touch her hair because it's so long and tangles easily.

Gumi: has at least 10 personalities. Would eat salad for every meal. Very excited about baby carrots because they're her favorite snack but tiny and uwu. Also a badass bitch who will step on you. Hypersexual. A ball of energy tbh.

Luka: Mom friend. Tired of everyone's bullshit. Needs some piece and quiet away from the kids. Goes drinking with Meiko. Tries her best to be a good role model. Raging Lesbian.

Ia: Always tired. Literally does nothing but sleep in her freetime. She only wears comfy clothes unless she has to wear an uncomfy thing on stage. Totally dating flower. Could beat you up, but would be too spaced out to really notice your insults in the first place. Seriously she's always disassociating. Really loves space. Probably studies astrology when she has the energy. Loves her sister ONE dearly (tbh ONE probably does most of the houshold chores and cooking. Poor baby.)

Flower: gender queer icon. Does not care about pronouns at all. Punk fashion, cold attitude. Really caring if she likes you, Really mean if she doesn't. Likes to nap with Ia. Beats people up for Ia since she never notices. Baby. Cares for her kids (Hime and Mikoto)

Rin: Group baby. Cries easily. Large stuffed animal collection. Very anxious bean. Hates school. Easily succumbs to peer pressure. Loves video games (both casual and competitive. Very good at splatoon.)

Len: Demon twin. Dirty nasty boy. Probably horny. Makes fun of Rin for her stuffed animals but has a lot if action figures. Loves video games (casual gamer in secret cuz he thinks it's embarrassing. Almost as good at splatoon as Rin. They play league together. ) hot headed. Twig, not strong at all.

Meika Hime: Baby. Sensitive uwu bean. Literally cannot be sad. Knows a lot about plants! She's a sleepwalker. That causes problems if she tries to nap in a tree (something she does often probably). Loves sweet foods, refuses to eat her veggies. probably has a cavity. Tries to be intimidating, but it only works on Flower and Mikoto.

Meika Mikoto: Doesn't talk much. Knows a lot of random trivia, but brings it up at really convenient times. Plays with bugs. Tired of waking up to a mess in the kitchen because of Hime's sleepwalking tbh. Will begrudgingly eat veggies. Brushes their teeth like a good kid. Doesn't try to intimidate, but it happens accidentally except to Hime and Flower. Awkward around most people.

Una: Gumi considers her a little sister! Has drastic mood swings. Loves aquatic Like. Lives and breathes to study the ocean. Loud! Very chaotic. Her room seems cluttered and organized at the same time. Probably has ADHD. Clumsy.

Big Al: He either scared you on accident or he made you laugh so hard your drink came out your nose and there is no in between. He's kinda shy at first. Soft spoken man. Likes old timey music. Just let grandpa read his newspaper in peace. Loves Sweet Ann with all of his heart. Literally buys her flowers like once a week.

Sweet Ann: Sweet as pie. Makes really good pie. Seriously like her pies. Southern belle. Strong lady. Can ride a horse. Very good at square dancing. Out of touch with the youngsters, but tries her best to be included. Has a lovely garden.

yeah that's all I got. Sorry if I didn't include your fav but these are the vocaloids I think about the most so idk. lemme know if you agree with any, I know some are a little hyper specific. oops.
