A teensy bit of lore:

Rice has been doing this since long before he ever met any of the others, but he dragged them all into it too. While their job is to keep balance in the multiverse, and keep Rice feed with negativity, they all share the hobby of studying and recording AUs. And since the war is over with Rice's brother, they have permission to study the AUs in his territory too, as long as they don't cause any problems. But they are surprisingly well-behaved when studying a place, and usually stay out of sight.

Recombinant Miles Quaritch character appreciation/moments that are overlooked:

The way he always got down on his knees to be eye level with Spider whenever they had a conversation.

The way he respected Spider’s choice to be called that instead of “Miles”.

His expressions when Spider was being tortured by the scientists and the fact that he got them to stop despite the fact that they would have found Jake sooner if he hadn’t.

Putting the entire mission (and his sole purpose) at risk by letting Spider join then even though he wouldn’t be of much help.

The subtle nervousness and hesitation when he talks to Spider alone for the first time and gives him Quaritch’s dog tags.

The gentle way he handles Spider.

The fact that he made Spider feel comfortable enough to joke around and make fun of the other Recoms.

The way he patiently listened to everything Spider had to say and gave him his undivided attention.

The disappointed look on both Miles and Spider’s faces when Lyle told them that they found where the Sullys might be. (They spent months together, bonding.)

The way Miles looked at Spider when he was begging them to spare the Ta’unui and didn’t kill anyone even though it would’ve gotten Jake to retaliate.

The way he tried to keep Spider safe and away from the fight even though their relationship became strained by Miles’ mission.

The fact that Miles chose Spider’s life over his mission — the reason of his creation — when Neytiri threatened to kill him.

The way he looked at Spider when he saved him.

Miles calling Spider “son” when he asked him to leave together and his reaction when Spider rejected him.

Right in time for bad weather to roll in!

There's a game on the Vita that I adored because you created both your character and also a second character that followed you around. (in that game, you're a little fella and your secondary is basically your babysitter who can't feel emotions and is programmed to be not be fond of you)

On many consoles, there's another game where you create your character and also create a secondary and it's very much your first in authority. (Arisen and Pawns? Multiple people knew of the game when I posted fanart of my silly duo so.)

However, there's tragically a third game I found in which you also have two characters and the first one is a fella, a hooman... and the second is AI. And absolutely adores you. Buuuut I made my primary a kind of indifferent fella named Adam and then in honors of the first one I mentioned, I named my secondary 'sqlmn' which is basically pronounced 'salmon'. Which is what my angy babysitter was named, Salmon.

Anyway I'm too embarrassed to admit which game I'm playing so have fun guessing!

#adam and sqlmn #thats gonna be their tag cause i do not want to admit what game it is #but also since they are both made in character creator its not actually characters anyone would recognize #in the vita game i mentioned though i also had a little girl as my primary (as in short girl not age)#and she had what i described as burnt marshmallow hair #which is what i attempted with adam here but the colors arent us popping as the other game so it looks more silvery blue than white #and then the burnt parts are either obnoxious orange or very mild #and i opted for the mild #anyway i like giving my ai bot who adores me a suit cause hes taller than adam #and i just thought it was funny to have him look like he should be in charge #because his dialogue is just him calling you Master #which im like does he know i would kill for him cause i would i love this weird tall freak who loves me unconditionally #and tbh i wanna grab them and use them for my own purposes and not have them attached to the game i created em in
