I want to love AJR SO bad I love their orchestrations and musical style and everything so much but I find their music so intensely depressing. I’ve tried it and it makes me so sad? It’s beautiful but it feels deeply sad in a way that my various other sad bands don’t. I guess that’s a credit to their songwriting but somehow it’s different. Death Cab For Cutie feels like wallowing in grief while looking out a window at the rain and sort of enjoying yourself despite the pain Passion Pit feels like grappling with the deep emotions of reality and life and the future and family and pain but in a way that’s laced with neutral acceptance and beauty. AJR feels like someone is stabbing me repeatedly. It’s pain and grief and sadness but not in a theatrical and enjoyable and cathartic way it just feels like heavy, deep sadness. and yes this is in and of itself something of a credit and compliment to them but it makes it too hard for me to listen to. I put on Neotheater on the way to DISNEY WORLD and pulled into the magic kingdom parking lot feeling like someone had died. and im so sorry to everyone who loves AJR you can read this as a compliment to them if you want bc maybe it’s meant to be but my god that band is way too much for my hyper empathy

I split MCU Steve into 2 versions. The Endgame one is the archetypal Cap.-- so imo he would be duty first, honor first, big-picture humanity first. He is the Steve who is so rigid in his character that going back to Peggy makes sense. He ultimately becomes a caricature of himself so his world only works in extremes. This boy would 100% grow distant with you. You’re not his apple pie narrative, nor are you the embodiment of all humanity-- whatever.

Pre-Endgame Steve fought the government for Bucky. He went prison break on super jail island. He dumped being a shiny lil Avenger for being a fugitive because he would eat shit before he let them cuff his friends. He is soooooooo fucking loyal, bro. This Steve fucks. This Steve eats ass. - He also wakes up often through the night. Or well he used to. He’s taking some new medication to prevent psychosis episodes and it makes him Eternally Tired

- Anyways. So he got in a big argument with his parents and then got kicked out. Or moved out. I don’t remember. So that’s when he left and went to a small community college

- He wasn’t too smart at first. Like he knew how to read and write but like. That’s the extent of it. He was homeschooled by his parents. But he picked things up quick and soon got fascinated with the social aspects of the city

- Since he basically spent all his life rural, he’d never seen what a city was like and it was a bit of a kinda culture shock to him. But soon he started reading about it and saw how people did in communities. So he formed one

- Yup. Just a normal community.
