i love that andy starts blubbering when they find laura's corpse. he doesn't even know it's laura yet, and he has a pattern of losing it whenever the sherriff's department is called out to suspected homicide crime scene. harry gently chastises him for letting his emotions, really his humanity, for getting the better of him.

it's the opposite of cop behaviour, or at least it's the opposite of cop show behaviour. cops do frequently lose their cool and let their biases supersede logic and procedure. on a cop show, these moments are played for drama and suspense. in the opening moments of twin peaks, it's just an expression of grief. later on the show will revolve entirely around reactions to and interactions with laura palmer, but at this early stage, it's just pure grief and regret at the loss of human life. here's some cops, but this ain't no cop show.

ive recently discovered that i really enjoying making super long word docs while i go on deep dives (like my 37 page tf2 word doc that i still need to finish </3). it helps me remember the info a bit better and its also very funny to be able to just whip out an absurdly long word doc to prove your point on something.

but me and @emoclone have shared custody over our newest funny little guy, andy, who has a special interest in mcdonalds. but to write him having a special interest in mcdonalds, we have to actually research and know stuff about mcdonalds. so im slowly but surely working on a big ol word doc full of the history of mcdonalds and particularly its ice cream machine (as he also has a special interest in ice cream).

but now i need to know what the pepsi word doc is??

Undead Unluck has no freaking business having such a cute couple dynamic with such an insane plot and wild character design.

Like, watching Fuuko's and Andy's relationship grow from Andy just teasing/wanting to use her, to him actively trying to make her fall for him to get the best death ever, to them just naturally starting to grow together as characters and just, respecting each other and actually learning to love the other, like, hurghhh!! Why is it so good??? Andy is literally insane yet he has a more mature and stable relationship with Fuuko than most other protagonists?!?

Also, the way the mangaka draws them constantly being physically so close is gonna kill me. Like, yeah, during the fights Fuuko's gotta play Koala to get her unluck on him, but there's rly no reason for the two of em to be all over each other out from battle (i mean, before they obviously start to like each other). I just keep thinking back on that one plane scene, where they literally have a whole plane for themselves, yet Fuuko naps in Andy's lap and cluthes his tie.

A man who looks like he smells of stale cigarette smoke should not be allowed to be adorable istg.

getting emotional over footage of an amateur scuba diver interacting with a coelacanth. they are hunted by large deepwater predators, and here comes a large creature bearing the brightest lights it's ever seen, making strange noises, but it does not shy away. it hovers, calmly, as the diver reaches out and trails a hand down its back. im strongly against the anthropomorphizing of real life animals but the stupid emotional part of me loudly insists this is because it recognizes us, the alternating movements of its four paired limbs matching the diver's four paired limbs, & it is thinking, "hello, cousins, we missed you these 66 million years, it's so good to see you again. welcome back, welcome home."
