cupid's bow lips! this was semi inspired by Mizuki Umetsu, the actor for Noritoshi in the jjk stage play! hes so. pretty. perfect guy for the role imo! i was captivated therefore my views changed.

longer hair! the thought that his bangs(? are the same length, or longer, as the rest of his hair is nice.. it also makes his inevitable haircut much more refreshing! i also just like long hair and its a fucking waste not to do whatever the i want.

thicker brows and visible eyelashes! i naturally draw thicker eyebrows because it looks pretty, but the eyelashes is so fucking canon bro. dont even fight me on this, you'll lose. i read a fic about Noritoshi where it said he took good care of himself and his appearance inspired jealousy. that fucked me up man, so now i draw him as beautiful as i can.

monolids! I've looked through the manga and i think its highly implied that Noritoshi has monolids? yk those lines in between the eye and eyebrow, he doesnt have them in the manga. i thought it was because of the expressions he had, but no. the others have them, except geto! so geto also having monolids is so fr in my head. i like that feature abt him.

loose hairs! the hairs that i draw on his face. they make him look so cute and a bit more relaxed. he's not trying to be perfect nor have a single strand out of place. he's just a bit more at ease... though if there's something important he has to go through, he sharpens up. becomes.. stiffer?

Hmm... it's interesting how they made Luz wear a witch's cloak in Hunting Palisman - the episode where she introduces Flapjack to Hunter. This is also the episode where Hunter defies Belos by choosing Luz over him. He goes back to his palace empty-handed and he doesn't hand over Flapjack to Belos. Unbeknownst to Hunter, he is following Caleb's footsteps.

But then, in Hollow Mind, they made the choice to have Luz not wear her witches cloak - instead they made Luz wear a jacket with a giant "E" on it. They could have given Luz a completely different outfit like they did in Hunting Palisman. But they don't... they make her wear this specific jacket...

...They also make Hunter wear Caleb's symbol in Hollow Mind... an episode where Luz and Hunter are trapped in Philip's mind... where we can see paintings of the two most important characters in Philip's life - his brother and a witch from another world.

the other day, a friend of mine invited me over to testplay a paper-and-pencil storytelling game he's been working on for a while and feels like he's finally got a workable version of and one of his mentioned reasons was that "you're a fellow storyteller, I want to see what you'll do with it"

I promptly created a character which violated exactly zero (0) rules but nonetheless obliterated one of the core intended mechanical limitations of the game and I didn't even do that on purpose

after the game, when we were laughing about this, he admitted that one of his other reasons for asking me specifically to testplay was because he knew that "if there was anything that could be broken, you would find it and break it"

#me #so basically there are two categories of player character that you either control both of #or you play as a team of two and control one each #one character exists within the context of the setting and the other is a reality warper #the rules for these characters are very very simple. the in-context character MUST exist within the setting and understand it to be reality #and the reality warper can do whatever they want to the setting SO LONG AS it does not break the in-universe character's understanding of i #you are. to borrow my friends' phrasing. not allowed to break the fourth wall for the in-context character #how did I completely break this situation without actually violating any rules you may ask? #I made my in-context character be a random guy that my reality warper zapped into existence at the start of the game #thus. his understanding of reality was still forming. #and reality warpers could interact with him at will because HE DOESN'T KNOW THEY'RE /NOT/ SUPPOSED TO BE THERE #again. Finally finished recreating the Lords in Black in TS4! I spent way longer on this than I’d like to admit, but I’m super happy with the way they all turned out. I took inspiration mostly from their costumes in Nerdy Prudes Must Die, but a bit from their NMT doll designs as well (and of course some personal creative liberties). For the Dark Fairy's role to have been stolen by the Evil Queen then the cursing of Sleeping Beauty must have happened some time past graduation, this makes some sense given that Briar hasn't been cursed yet I guess, and we're given an explanation it all going down on Sleeping Beauty's 18th birthday party, which is also fine.

But given the Evil Queen's age isn't in the hundreds, Briar's mother can't have actually fallen asleep for hundreds of years, and Briar's age relative to Raven's suggests that Briar's mother wasn't sleeping for vary long at all? Briar's parents probably went to school together and their friends are likely all still alive. It would even make sense that this is what happened because it explains how the Evil Queen managed to go an extra eight-plus years until the Invasion of Wonderland until she was actually arrested for interfering with stories; if the outcome of the first time she did it allowed Sleeping Beauty to avoid the actual horror of her story unfolding the way it was supposed to.

But Briar's fears are still based on the idea that her mother did sleep for hundreds of years and all her friends are dead and she did end up being married to a man she had never met before. Which, don't work with the timeline. At least let her sit at a table listening to her mother recount stories with her friends during a dinner party and lose her appetite as she realises she won't be able to do the same because the Evil Queen broke script for her mum and isn't around to break script for her.

Or maybe Briar has heard the stories about how hard it will be from her Grandmother, who only had the two children before her husband died in an accident that may have not been an accident, and Briar can't help but think she might be trying to mentally prepare Briar for the worst even as her friends and mentors brush the stories off as the kind of stories old people tell to scare children.

But you have to pick whether Briar's mother did sleep long enough to get that trauma from her, or if the Evil Queen stole the Dark Fairy's role. Because the Sleeping Beauty story has to have happened before Briar was born, and Raven was eight when the Invasion of Wonderland happened. So every year that Sleeping Beauty was asleep for is another year on top of 8-9 that the Evil Queen got away with interfering with a story before everything with Wonderland. And every year Sleeping Beauty is asleep is another year that every other kingdom has decided to let the Evil Queen carry on without being arrested given no one during that period of time knows what the outcome of the Evil Queen's spell would be when the Dark Fairy's spell is meant to be the safe one. And every year that Sleeping Beauty is asleep for is another year added to the age of all the parents, even if Sleeping Beauty herself doesn't age.

I don't think she was asleep longer than a year at most.

We also know that the Snow White story had to have happened before this as well. So imagine being the newly crowned Queen White, who is eighteen. You've pardoned your step mother for her actions against you because they were made for the sake of the story. She's also eighteen, you argue, and she's married to your dad who may be a good man but is at the very least 36 but probably more likely in his 50s (assuming he didn't get married as soon as he turned 18, and that you weren't conceived an born that same year, supposedly the Good King has a naval career, and you might even have older siblings who would later die fighting your step-mother: someone had to be assumed heir to the Good King's name after all) in what was for all intents and purposes an arranged marriage [I like to think it was a genuine arranged marriage the Good King didn't want but also didn't want to go to war with the Evil Queen's father whoever he may be, but the Storybook of Legends is also playing matchmaker here so].

Then she curses someone who was probably your friend in school.

A fair few people are blaming you. If you hadn't let the Evil Queen run free instead of being locked up, or even killed, for her crimes the story would have happened the way it was meant to.

A queer newsletter from my hometown is posting about the lack of lesbian bars in this major city. But they're acting like this is a long-standing issue when it isn't. There was a lesbian bar in town. For many years, it opened sometime in the 80s. Then, around 2015/2016 trans rights became the hot button issue, and that bar took approximately 5 minutes to become a terf bar and start isolating itself from the rest of the local queer community. The petty infighting between regulars led to a gradual loss of business before the bar ultimately shut down in 2019. (Then relocated and reopened in 2021 as a straight bar).

It's great if they want to open a new lesbian/ women's bar, or otherwise create that space. But they've got to deal with this problem first.

#this is the bar my mom worked at where her group of friends #who were all regulars #had a running bet on which one of them would be the first to 'have' me #and how many of them it would take to 'fix' and 'make a good lesbian' of me #i was 17 #the youngest of them was 39 #most of them were in their 50s #they stopped hosting drag shows because too mamy regulars complained about 'celebrating men pretending to be women' #which is funny to me because i know one of the queens who performed regularly there and they at the time #considered themself a cis woman #they've since come out as a nonbinary woman #but the fact that these people just decided that a black person in drag must be a trans woman and therefore 'a man dressed as woman' #is pretty telling #after that the dart team hosted at that bar fell apart #because they refused to compete against any team that had trans people #or against any team hosted at a trans friendly bar #mind you this was not a gender specific league #they'd play against cis men but not trans people of any kind #then they pulled their support of the local lgbt youth center #because they were too trans friendly #and thag was pretty much the last straw for that bar #because that center is a long standing central pillar of the local community #so #op
