TGCF donghua Episode 11 Thoughts (SPOILERS for episode and novel!)

Ok I didn't think they were actually going to kiss, BUT for a heart-stopping second I thought they were gonna get close enough before cutting away. Just to tease us, if for no other reason. I actually held my breath. It was still a big tease nonetheless but I am still grateful for the scene because my God was it beautifully done. The focus on Dianxia's lips as he says Hua Cheng's name, the way his breath catches as HC leans closer, the world fading away around them, HC's ponytail gently falling forward just so, the way they just focus on his lips just as if from Dianxia's POV....all of it just screams romance. Once again, that was all the work of the donghua's team. In the book, this moment occurs when they're actually back at Puqi Shrine, and Xie Lian's actually in the middle of cleaning a table when he very nonchalantly addresses Hua Cheng by his name. It was cute because Dianxia did it so casually but hardly THIS romantic. So, really, hats off to the donghua team!

Actually other than that last scene, of course I am grateful to the donghua team for many other moments in this episode. To start, whenever they show San Lang protecting Dianxia.

We know Xie Lian can definitely take care of himself, but I appreciate that Hua Cheng's instinct is always to protect him anyway. I actually thought that's why he gave himself the name," Hua Cheng". The words translate to "Flower City", and in the olden days, a city had walls protecting the people in it, so I figured that Hua Cheng chose this name to represent how he will always protect Xie Lian, that his protection is all encompassing. Lol, I can't wait to find out how wrong I am.

Even though Hua Cheng's fight with Pei Su was mostly off screen and limited to quick flashes of swords clashing, what they did show of Hua Cheng in his "real" form was DELICIOUS.

I am grateful to the donghua team for Hua Cheng's adorable reaction to Dianxia being cheeky. Too precious!

Our General Hua looking like a god in armor...and the way he made bis appearance in that scene too, like a savior coming to rescue mankind...or in this case, Banyue.

This scene actually made me tear up. I don't remember thinking Pei Su was that attached to Banyue when reading the book, but that might've been my fault for not paying close enough attention when HuaLian weren't directly involved. I was actually wondering how they were going to conclude the Banyue arc in just one episode since it felt like they would have to pack a lot into just 20 mins or so, but I think they did a really good job of wrapping it up. Didn't feel rushed or that anything important was missing.

I love both of them already, but I want to especially commend the donghua team's character design for The Wind Master. I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't read the book, but trust me when I say THAT is a brilliant bit of character design. They will have to change two things about her next season but it's like she's mostly there already. 😂 I also love her voice and voice performance (by VA Qiu Qiu), so perfect for the character. I seriously cannot wait to see more of her next season, especially after hearing that news about the VA. 😁

I guffawed. This was a bit of brilliance too. Man, I just love the donghua team! They really did such a GREAT JOB bringing TGCF to life. I mean, is there really anyone who hates this adaptation?? I guess if you weren't into Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's relationship, the case of the week parts might be a bit underwhelming, but what I appreciate about them is that they inevitably link back to Dianxia and his past, or introduce us to new characters which then opens up the world. They always have a purpose, leading to bigger things. As a first season I think it was pretty strong, what they changed from the source material were usually positive alterations. I mean, I'm reading the book now because of this show, after putting it off for so long, so I'm definitely converted.

I do have to say though that the season did end on a rather odd note since it felt like there should have been just a few more beats before the end credits. It was a little abrupt imho, but it still is miles better than poor SVSSS's season finale, which ended on a freaking scene transition.

Of course there's still that special HuaLian episode on February 16th, so I guess technicallyyyyy this first season hasn't quite ended yet. The special looks to be picking up right where this episode leaves off: with Dianxia having a conversation with Hua Cheng back at Puqi Shrine about his role as Ghost King and other related topics. I'm not sure why it's airing a month and a half later, or why on February 16th instead of Valentine's Day, but I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm just grateful we have more TGCF and HuaLian to look forward to. Second season is already in production, and apparently the theme song for it will drop tomorrow! A live action has been announced which they're still casting, and honestly some of those casting choices scare me so depending on who they end up deciding on, I might just gonna stay away from that completely and stick with the donghua and book.

Novel Reading Progress...about to finish Book 2... SPOILERS

MXTX-laoshi is a total sadist giving us THAT kind of sex pollen scene when nothing could be done cuz Hua Cheng's still a little bean sprout...I love Dianxia, love him more now knowing he was a pretty flawed human being, that he's absolutely not perfect...his heart is warm but his actions are sometimes quite cold...I blame his privileged upbringing and his youth and inexperience for some of his rash decisions...he means well but of course the road to hell is pathed with good intentions...wish he would stop forgetting about little Hua Cheng though, poor baby...the more I read about the human face disease the more I don't want to...just, overall, I feel this heavy weight on my heart now because I know things are going to go from worse to utter calamitous shit soon. I am SCARED, preparing my heart for breakage.

Request: Reader is really bad at expressing her feelings and talking about things she loves, so the team helps her as best as they can. And one evening she calls them all into a room and tells them how much they all mean to her and how happy she is to have them

3 days on the team

Fuck the beep test.

You fell to your knees panting heavily, sweat pouring off your forehead as you stared in disbelief at Kelley. How the fuck was she still going? The rest of your team had already been eliminated, everyone except for the flying squirrel.

You had barely made it to the line on time, and there she was, running off to the next one in time to hear the next one like you hadn’t just done 70 reps. You had to up your game if you wanted to keep your spot. Your plan was simple- beat the best players and show them why you belonged.

A bottle of water appeared in your peripheral vision. You flinched waiting for the icy spray to hit your face, but it never did.

“You did good kid. Don’t beat yourself up about getting out earlier than Kelley. I don’t think anyone could actually beat her.” She said, pushing the water bottle into your hands and making you take a sip.

You opened your mouth to respond, but no words would come out. You weren’t sure if that was because The Alex Morgan was talking to you, or if it was because your lungs were no longer in your chest.

“I swear, the rest of us could tag-team this thing and she would still probably outlast us,” Alex said, shaking her head as she walked away, already used to your non-responses (though she was sure she saw your lips twitch up) “I’ve stopped trying, it’s so not worth the knee pain tomorrow.”

You opened and closed your mouth several times as if you were going to call some sarcastic response after her, but the words just wouldn’t come out. You just sighed, resting your head on your knees, your chin hitting your chest-- better luck next time.

6 months on the team

The bus was a tricky situation. On most days the team didn’t care where you sat, but you knew that would change drastically during important tournaments, like Olympic qualifiers big. You had already been warned that where you sat- where everyone sat really- mattered.

Screwing it up could bring the team bad luck, and you really didn’t want to be the reason why your team wasn’t going to the Olympics for the first time.

For that reason you tried to be the last person on the bus, so you could tell where to sit based on what seats were open, but Emily had forgotten something and so she and Lindsey had run off to grab them, and now you were staring down the aisle of a partially filled bus wondering whether you were about to cast an omen of doom if you set your bag down.

“Third row on the left is open, or 8th on the right,” you hear a voice pipe up from behind you. One of Christen’s warm hands settled on your shoulders, the other held her duffel bag partially over her shoulder.

You felt yourself relax at the directions, incredibly grateful for the woman who had become one of your many team moms. You hadn’t ever spoken a full sentence to the woman, but she embraced your shy nature without blinking.

“You could also crash with Mal, she doesn’t have a bus buddy,” Tobin’s bead popped up on your other side, wiggling her eyebrows. It was funny to most of the girls that their two team babies had things for each other.

A light blush spread across your cheeks as you nodded. “Thanks” You mumbled, throwing your bag into an empty row, unwilling to sit with your crush. Tobin snorted as she settled back down, propping her feet up on the seat in front of her, her head on Alex’s shoulder as she slumped halfway down in her seat.

“Better luck next time kid,” Christen winked at Mal and tossed her a small package of Oreos when she pouted.

9 months on the team

Going against Japan was never fun. They were a technically sound team with none of the friendly players like Leah or Jessie. That and they still held a massive grudge from the 2015 World Cup.

As the second half had progressed, the Japanese team had become increasingly desperate. In their attempts to get the ball out of their defending half and into the US box, they had left giant gaps in their defense that Linsey and Sam were exploiting. As forwards, you and Alex were getting sent through balls and crosses.

You collected a particularly nice ball threaded by Lindsey and broke towards goal, beating the two defenders that were marking you and looking for Alex. You were so focused on tracking her position that you didn’t see the center back coming in for a tackle until it was too late and you were staring up at the clouds, tweety birds fluttering around your head.

You could feel the headache forming, like a growing stress ball where the base of your head met your neck. That was going to hurt once the adrenaline rush was over.

“Hey Beaker, you alright?” Emily’s head appeared in your immediate vision, her worried form slightly fuzzy around the edges.

“Meep meep” You huffed, sending the woman a little smile. It was weird to see Sonnett so serious. She put down a hand to pull you up and began brushing the grass off your jersey.

“How the fuck is that not a yellow or a PK, her studs were up and she wasn’t even going after the ball,” Lindsey yelled towards the ref, jogging past you to get right in the woman’s face.

“Go help your girlfriend, mm fine” You mumbled, embarrassed by the attention you were getting. Emily’s presence was comforting, but couldn’t block the feeling of thousands of eyes throughout the stadium, watching you to see if you were going to be pulled from the field. You wondered if many of them were almost hoping for it.

Emily sent you a worried look before patting your shoulder. “That was almost a goal too! And hey, they wouldn’t have fouled you if you weren’t killing it out here!” She nudged your shoulder lightly with hers and released you to the medics, walking over to Lindsey and pulling her away from the ref before she got a red.

You watched them for a bit before someone shined a flashlight in your eyes. Maybe next time you would find the words to thank them, someday when you weren’t feeling so dizzy. You’d have better luck next time.

1 year on the team

Oreos were the quintessential after practice snack. It appeased the vegans and catered to the sweet tooth of the younger side of the team, and really, anyone who didn’t like Oreos was surely messed up.

Normally the team took turns bringing the packets of double-stuff, hiding them in duffel bags so coaches wouldn’t see and remind them about the diets they were all supposed to be on during season (and Dawn was like a bloodhound when it came to contraband).

But to celebrate something the team would forego the normal packs set out by the coaching staff in favor of double, triple, or mega stuffed ones and some funky flavors. And right now was a celebration if you ever saw one. The team was jubilant after their extremely entertaining scrimmage. Your team, Cool Beans (named by Tobin), had beaten team Hot Stuff (Alex’s team) 6 to 5, you scoring 3 of said goals.

You smiled lightly from your place on the locker room bench, munching happily on your mint Oreo and listening to several of the conversations happening around you. You felt so comfortable tucked between Mal and Christen, so safe and welcome.

“You know, I really love you guys,” you said. There was a lull in the conversation, and several girls turned toward you in shock.

“Holy shit, Meep Meep just talked!” Emily exclaimed, all eyes turning to you and your very red cheeks. Perhaps you hadn’t meant to say that out loud...

“We all knew she could talk,” Mal protested, throwing a balled-up cookie packet at her. Emily only smirked as the piece of plastic drifted through the air, falling about a foot short of its intended target.

“Yeah but she said more than 3 words,” Lindsey rolled her eyes at the 2nd youngest forward, wiggling her eyebrows at Mal who had wrapped her spare arm around your waist.

“I just-... you guys make me feel safe and I’ve never had my friends become like family before, and I love you guys,” You said, smiling at the ground.

“We love you too Kiddo,” Christen said, from behind your left ear.

“Group hug!!!!!” Kelley yelled before anyone could stop her, the women sharing a conspirator look before rushing you.

You tried to protest, but in the end, there was no stopping them. A bundle of arms wrapped around you, dragging you to the floor in a dog pile.

“Isn’t this nice!” Emily said from somewhere above you.

“Would be nicer if your elbow wasn’t embedded in my spleen…” You grumbled, hushing when Mal leaned up to kiss your cheek. Yes, these women were crazy, but right now you felt like the luckiest woman in the world.

Unorganised thoughts on Trails of Cold Steel III:

...I’m gonna need like a week to process that

I guess I know why people hate George now!

Could really use a good old reset from KeA right now

This is the best game in the Cold Steel series so far. Easily

I... there’s no way they’re all really dead, right? This series has been completely toothless about killing anyone who isn’t a villain until now, no way they’re permanently killing someone who’s been here since practically day 1, no way. Show me a body

And even then I’ll doubt it with all these revivals happening all over the place

‘He’s HIDING’ I sob as I apply clown make-up

Ben Diskin did not need to go so hard on the voice acting at Millium’s death he did not need to do that to me

My god when Angie drove into the graveyard and my PS4 popped up a little notification telling me it was a blocked scene, the tension in me... and I never saw that coming, I’ll have to see if it was foreshadowed at all by replaying CS1 and 2 some time

I saw Lughman being a baddie a mile away (a mysterious professor turning out to be evil in a Trails game? UNPRECEDENTED!) but he’s Alisa’s dad!?

Neat writing trick actually, since they probably knew we’d guess the former, they blindside us with the latter

I can’t express how happy it made me that the Rufus battle was Machias Jusis Elliot. My dream team!

Estelle and Joshua got mentioned so much I figured they’d make a surprise appearance at the end and save the day

So. Characters:

Rean: Rean is once again moderately more interesting than he was before, but still the least interesting person in the game. I guess he’s got some guilt that’s actually justified now, that’s cool?

I ship him with Crow, not because the pairing really appeals to me that much, but because being shipped with Crow would totally piss Rean off and I find that extremely funny

His relationship with Altina is the best relationship he’s ever had with a female character and it is 100% because she’s the only girl he’s never ship teased with

(I don’t have an issue with the concept of ship tease itself, I have an issue with Rean-ship tease because 1. I still truly do not understand why so many girls like him so much and 2. None of it will ever canonically go anywhere)

(Seriously I’m so tempted to write a breakdown of why every other guy in Erebonia is more desirable than Rean)

Juna: I like Juna. I realised early on that she and Kurt remind me of Estelle and Joshua, without being carbon copies, and that’s good. I also think her relationship with Rean was really interesting - ‘I don’t know how to feel about you because you saved my life, but it also wouldn’t have needed saving if it weren’t for your country’s actions, which you’ve played a major role in - but now I’m being forced to confront that you’re a human being too’ is a really complicated situation for her. It’s a lot more interesting than ‘I don’t like you because you accidentally got a face full of chest’, Alisa

I also really liked using her, I ended up loading her with the Platinum Pecky Medal and defensive stuff, and she was a wall, she took an S-craft from Arianrhod in her stride! My buff girl!

She should’ve just been the new protagonist ngl

Kurt: Kurt had a lot to live up to, seeing as his brother is my favourite minor character. And oh does he succeed, Kurt is my favourite of New VII, he’s a good straight man, he’s great in battle, I like his arc, I like his friendship with Juna, I like Kurt

Altina: I was not sure about Altina just... being a student now. But damn if she didn’t have the best character arc in the game. I only did her final bonding event on a whim, but it’s the best one I saw. My girl Allie deserves the damn world

I really, truly believe those three have a bond as well, they’re very well written as a group. This was a problem I had with Old VII, the fact that so many of them just... didn’t have relationships with each other. How do, say, Fie and Machias feel about each other? I have no idea. But this group has a fantastic dynamic and it makes that ending so much more effective

It’s like I praised Crossbell for, really - having a small core group is much more manageable in terms of giving them all equal screen time and getting me to care about them

Musse: Uh, kind of one-note and annoying, honestly. I don’t hate her or anything, but like... she’s either Being Mysterious or Hitting On Her Teacher (I hate it I hate it so much). It’s just hard to care about someone who’s clearly so fake, I guess? I’m definitely interested in her, but like... I don’t really like her

Ash: Poor boy. I thought Ash was such an interesting character (and man do I love having someone around who does not like Rean, and never really changes his mind about it). Ash is very well done imo

Alisa: Alisa is good when the issue is her family drama, and is so goddamn boring when it comes to Rean. Nothing new there

Elliot: I love his little ponytail I love it he’s so cute I want to hug him so bad

Laura: Winner of the ‘best new outfit’ award (was never that fond of her war outfit, but this one is perfect). Still good, but not notably so. I feel so bad for Laura, she tries so hard to matter, but she’s by far the character you’d have the easiest time lifting out of the game

And while I love Elliot... same situation really. You could go back to the start and have one character named Elliaura who likes swords and music and has two big-shot dads, and you wouldn’t lose much

Machias: Took down Rufus, yeah, destroy your best friend (boyfriend)’s evil family! Winner of the ‘worst new outfit’ award, AGAIN. Also winner of ‘dorkiest S-craft’. I did his final bonding event first, and according to Playstation trophies it’s the least popular one! Stop sleeping on my boy Machias guys, I know he was annoying in the first game but I love him :(

Gaius: Special award to Gaius for finally being interesting! Boy’s a Gralsritter now, did not see that coming!

And of course it happened off screen. Because god forbid interesting stuff happen to Gaius when we’re actually around

Oh also goddamn, that is a beautiful man

Emma: Don’t really like the new outfit. It’s kind of remarkable that she’s so important but I keep forgetting she exists. Exposition witch who sometimes just doesn’t deliver the exposition I guess

Fie: Still my fav girl. Wish there had been more focus on her feelings about her dad coming back to life. Like that she’s a bracer

Jusis: Wasn’t sure how to feel about his newly close friendship with Millium because I was concerned that I was meant to ship it (by far my least favourite thing about this franchise is that that was not an unreasonable concern, as it wouldn’t even be the most inappropriate relationship in this game alone). Very, very glad it was confirmed sibling-y (not that it’s stopped them before). He didn’t really get to do anything else, sadly, but he’s good as always

I did the Purebread contest with him, and he made bread from coffee beans Machias gave him, the Ferdibert Fire Emblem energy-

Milliam: :(

Sara: Doesn’t get much to do because this cast is bloated but like, I still really like her :)

Towa: Someone needs to check on Towa all her friends are dead or evil the poor poor girl (or uh. I guess Crow isn’t... hmm.)

Angie :(

My kids Tita and Agate are back and completely overshadowed by people teasing this almost 30-year old man about being in love with a 17 year old that he’s only ever claimed to see as a sister, I swear to god

The orbal gear looks so goofy lol

Stop mentioning Schera as just being ‘totally here, just off screen, ha ha’ give her a model! Have her be here!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing Josette again, I just don’t get... why? Why is she here?

Tio is back! And so is Randy, as a major character! I’m very very happy, I love them both

Michael’s fine, I guess? He’s kind of bland but I guess that’s kind of the point and I like him just fine. He serves his purpose well

I’ve never really liked Claire all that much, but she’s fine in this one again I suppose. A bit disappointed by the Lechter reveals really, I had expected more, to be honest

Aurelia is a fun character and I enjoy her as the principal. Want to see her fight Cassius

I love my girl Annabelle, but she’s the only reason I didn’t get all the character profiles (how was I meant to know I could even go to the highway at that point hmmm Falcom!?)

They picked a good selection of returning Thors students. Even Dorothee isn’t as annoying as she used to be. Hilarious that she’s the only one who didn’t get a profile

Juna gave a great big speech about how awesome the SSS are and namedrops everyone EXCEPT WAZY! My FAVOURITE Crossbell character! So offensive!

Oh speaking of offensive I took Machias to the Mishy show and was told he and Rean did a Mishy dance but they didn’t show it, what the hell-

Playable Olivier! Olivier back story! I could write a goddamn essay on why Olivier is such a great character. Glaring at you Falcom

I miss Mueller :(

Ada Grant is wonderful and I want better things for her

Rufus is a damn great villain just because of how much sense his actions suddenly make when you know that one little detail of him not actually being Jusis’s brother

I hate Cedric but like, in a way where I’m having fun hating him. That little bitch

Literally what do you even actually want Osbourne

I still cannot stand Elise. Something I realised playing this game is that one of the things that stops the Estelle and Joshua relationship from being as weird as it could be is that they don’t look at all alike, it’s very clear they’re not related in the slightest. Elise and Rean look like they really could be siblings, and come to think, so do Lloyd and Cecile. Which is also teased, to a lesser extent. It would be so much less uncomfortable if they just swapped Elise and Alfin’s models ngl (though still not good)

inb4 the final plot twist of the whole series is that Estelle and Joshua actually were biological siblings all along

This game looks so much better than its predecessors. Having the models being a little rounder and softer looking makes it look much more like an updated version of the original style than the complete departure that was CS1 and 2. Every time there was a flashback, Rean would be like ‘back then...’ and I’d feel compelled to say out loud ‘when we were shiny, and looked bad!’

‘Evil ancient magic corrupts people into making them do bad things!’ is... honestly a bit of a cop out that I did not expect from this series

I found Rean telling Patrick ‘leave room for Aidios when dancing with my sister’ extremely funny. Rean would totally be a Christian summer camp counsellor in the real world

I honestly would have enjoyed it a lot more if Alfin decided to cause a scandal and have her first dance with Elise, but we can’t have such luxuries I suppose

When you get that book on dystopias, very clever to put the author on the last page. Seeing the name Gideon gave me such a start

Racquel was easily my fav new location

Leeves > Trista no doubt, maybe I’m just biased because it looks a lot like the village I grew up in but it’s just such a nicer design

Also the branch campus > main campus purely for being smaller, making the filler segments between field trips more bearable

I prefer the longer but fewer chapters set-up, I think

There’s so many sad faces in this write up :(

Back when I played Sky SC, I said something about how one of the themes is ‘you are not defined by your trauma’. I now think it would be more accurate to say that the theme of all the games (but especially the Sky arc) is ‘don’t let your worst experiences define you’

Because there are characters who define themselves by their traumas and worst experiences - and those characters are all villains, or miserable, or both. Like, they don’t phrase it as such, but the requirement to be an Ouroboros enforcer is ‘have trauma and define yourself by it’

And both Joshua and Renne’s arcs are about learning not to do that

Equally, the idea that ‘it’s much easier to not to define yourself by your trauma when you have a good support system that wants the best for you’ is a big theme as well

I just think that’s a really interesting idea for a JRPG series to tackle, idk

I can’t believe I’m at the last game! This series has been my life for the past near-half a year, what do I do when I finish it?

...go back and play Sky FC, maybe?

Animation Reviews: OK KO: Red Action 3: Grudgement Day

Whelp I said i’d do all three in one day and I MEANT IT. And I may do it again just to stay on schedule in the future, but for now i’m just proud and exausted to have gotten this done. And after a rather “eh it has some things but it’s mostly just there” episode” we’ve come to our last episode and my personal faviorite, Red Action 3: Grudgment day. Also as a quick note I forgot red was actually a major part of “I hope this thing flies” back in my first review, but I probably would’ve left it out as while the plot is her racing with Rad, it’s entirely a rad episode, and like plaza prom which I had to realize wasn’t important, isn’t really necessary. One last where we are in the series thing. We’re in season 3 and as I mentioned last time, RIGHT before the final episodes and one episode before the three part final arc and unrelated but beautiful epilogue that closes out the series. I didn’t go into my throughts on season 2 but it was good, the ending was just a really sloppy end to an otherwise good arc that i’ll get to. Season 3 is somehow even better, using it’s shorter run time to tie up loose ends and character arcs left and right and , after trying all series to do it, crossing over with Sonic the hedgehog, another thing for another time, and the final episodes, both the wrap up to the story arc “Let’s fight ot the end” and the wonderful where are they now epilouge “Thank you for watching the show”, are absolutley amazing and how you end a show.. and thankfully endings of this calibur became the trend this year given that same year star vs ended terribly and the bad taste is still in my mouth over that one but that’s a story for another bunch of reviews. The point is as I said the crew used the time wisely and wrapped up most ongoing character and story arcs that needed resolution. And given they spent two episodes on it the team decided to pull the pin on red and enid getting together, and solve one dangling issue the fans likely had all in one go. IT’s grudgment day under the cut.

We open with Rad and Red arguging and KO looking at them in a way that just screams:”Third mom, Rad, please stop fighting” Enid comes in and wonders why one of her two best friends and her girlfriend are fighting. She dosen’t use the term but given the kiss at the end of the episode, more on that when we get to it, the general way Enid acts about this and the way Red acts around her this ep.. their a couple at this point. I do wish they had an episode of them becoming offical, adressing Enid and Elodie.. bucnhes of other things but I concede that the crew was blindsighted by having a smaller season and had they you know NOT BEEN CANCELED FOR NO GOOD GOODAMN RESAON, we might have gotten more renid and more stories and a full on steven universe crossover with both sides. But I digress.. CN’s managment is terrible right now... but that’s not the reason for this article so we’re moving on. Anyways Enid wants to know why their so pissy when she arrives, and Red .. is in the right this time. Showing her growth while she still got heated with rad.

Rad did at least start it, as she simply came in to take enid jelly surfing and was kind enough to ask him to come along.. and KO implictly given he’s there and their buds now and all that. But when rad insults her again she quits the explaning and goes right back to arguing with him while Enid and KO look on awkwardly. Then Red decides to go into a mocking impression of rad, which is not NEARLY as mean as it could’ve been given the guy has canocially, had a super virus get worse because he refused to get rest something the villian that gave it to him was COUNTING on as part of his evil scheme, was left on the floor in pain over his cocoa being too hot, and once confused his 6-11 year old friend for a doppleganger despite having GIVEN said friend his nametag, though to be fair red’s own best friend also thought he was rad and gave him her number, so everyone was kind of dumb that day but still, the point is she has a LOT of ammo. In contrast Rad STARTS light saying she says words like Cowabunga (she only does once at the end of this ep and has not at any time).. before saying Enid deserves someone better and flinging her surfboard... which Crinkly Wrinkly jumps on and crashes into a wall because of course he does. Anyways Enid is offended at this and reveals rad’s been acting like a raving dickhead to Red anytime she shows up, which were this season 1 would be on brand but after 3 seasons of becoming a better person and an episode earlier this season where he rejected his dudebro friends once and for all, who by the way: Beefer and Mega Football Baby are the worst and I hate them and i’m greatful that their final apperance is rad realizing what a bad influence they’ve been and telling their asses off for their toxic masculinity. But I will however give OK KO credit as their SUPPOSED to be obnoxious, and the crew still dialed back hteir apperances to almost nothing when they realized it went horribly right, versus Rusty whose still mildly to massively annoying, but has yet to be fixed or removed from LIncoln’s crew, despite the show having a good track record for taking problematic characters and fixing them. And i’ve gotten entirely offf topic because all three of them piss me off so much, so let’s move on. Where were we.. ah yes, since Rad being a dickhead this consisently is now an exception not the rule, Enid rightfully demands to know why and Rad.. makes up two very petty, weak and obviously pulled out of his butt to try and cover the real reason up reasons for his actions: Red didn’t follow him back on Social Media, which is both a website and what the website is in this universe apparently which Is brilliant, and that she took the last bit of cake at prom... you know after he realized he was screwing it up and fixed it all with a homoerotic dance fight. Plaza Prom is amazing. When pressed because Rad fired his stupid friends, Rad hastily challenges red to a power battle, which I haven’t had to cover yet: Basically a hero can challenge another hero to a fight, usually for respect, to settle a grudge or who took the last bagle, and it’s a socially accepted thing called a power batttle. Really given it seems like KO’s world has not had a hero civil war, and the one time we’ve seen heroes on heroes outside of these things has been when POINT was acting shady as fuck and thus needed to be stopped, it seems like a resonable mesure, especially since most heroes just.. shrug off damage from battles and stuff after a bit. Unable to convince her girlfriend not to punch her best friend in the face, however much he deserves it, Red gives enid her belt with her time capusles inside, so they don’t go off mid fight and gives her an air kiss. Awww. Enid bemoans the fact this is happening for such dumb reasons when KO relaizes they can just use the belt to fix what once went wrong and end this petty fight before rad dies. First stop, the Bodega a few months ago, which KO proves both by the fact they have mean beans, which theys topped selling months ago and is one of the single best refrences this show did and it’s done a LOT, and the social media feed being from months and months ago, with Beefer bragging elodie beat him up. Ewwwwww.... I don’t wnat to kjnow what he’s into. Gah gotta scrub my brain. ONe brain scrub later Rad needs only one more follower to 100. I hear when you get 100 this happens.

Seriously they use this any time they need a picture of him. It’s one of the series best runners and is only topped by homer simpsons various terrible ones and this gravity falls masterpiece as being the best stock photo used for a character.

As things have only gotten more heated at the power battle, so they try the prom to see if that’ll help. Cue PROM. Seriously why they never did a second Plaza Prom episode is really beyond me. Lot of potetinal with that concept.. plus I like episodes that put tons of cast, main and supporting, in one event together, ever since venture bros. It’s always a fun time. Anyways, Enid wants to stop a paradox but KO has already interacted with his past self.. which is the KO enid’s talking to and a great gag. So the two seeing Rad and Red both about to go for the cake decide to pull a destraction: Enid goes over and talks to Red to hold her off and get the cake to rad, while KO does what any sane person would do: Jumps onto Rad’s face while yelling rad I love you, and Rad is clearly more annoyed he’s on his face and this has very obviously happened before. .... I miss this show. Anyway after giving the explination that she’s a shadow clone to explain why her past self is still up there DJing, she offers to dance and the two have a good cute time until enid gets the cake into rad’s mouth and bolts.. and now we get the thing I hinted at earlier. Red talks to the other Alley Teens about it, and notes that while she dosen’t know Enid she kinda likes her.. then backpedals as the teens make faces but are clearly not fooled by they all look really creepy especially Gregg.

WHelp I have ny nightamres for tonight. But yeah this is implied to be what got Red to ask her out in the first place. Time travel is weird and inconsietent. This does give me a chance to adress the fact that the alley teens.. sorta stopped beiing a thing eventually. I mean their stillf riends as of the season 2 openoer but red and drupe show up for their own eps or supportingroles while Gregg just kinda vanishes, poor person. That being said given this interaction and how close they were I DO think their still friends; I mean gregg and drupe was confirmed by the flash forward as they visit rad’s cafe, but Red would still be their friend, they just all likely have more stuff to do as they grow older: by the end of season 2 Drupe has a buisness and gregg is probably in college. But I expect Drupe would be Red’s best woman at her wedding. I mean gregg would probably be her best person but still. Anyways they return to the present again and.

Yeah that. Their now battling in cars and Enid decides to cut the bullshit and just ask Rad why he’s pissed at Red, asking Red to pause the fight, which she agrees to. KO and Enid throw rad int he back of his van tied up and ask him to be honest about why he’s so pissed off. After some dithering he says he lo.. lo.. and instead of saying he loves enid, thank god i’m so sick of love triangles, may they die in a fire, like the episode hinted at it’s a swerve. and unlike a vince russo swerve which ends in A “Buff Bagwell’s mother on a forklift match”.. no really

This is actually a great one: Rad’s fully moved on and I like that, evne if the finale does leave it vauge if those bodegamen at the end are theirs or not, given Rad’s her best friend by the end and she and red would need a surrogate, it’s not a huge stretch to say Rad sperm donored for them and is still a beloved uncle and figure in their lives. Anyways the point is Rad’s real beef is.. suprisingly sweet. Turns out Rad’s still pissed at the whole “Teens humilating, burning and spanking” ko thing and Red posting it online. Which is likely to adress the fact they.. never adressed that and was a good call and a good way to show rad’s growth: he’s not jealous , he’s not mad she’s taking up enid’s time, he’s mad that his best friend is dating someone who beat up his other best friend for just trying to help them then put it online for a cruel laugh. Granted Drupe did the same thing and he not only danced with her but is on good terms with her to this day, but odds are given they see her more and she’s in fact the designer for their mission outfits in season 3, she probably apologized off screen while Red figured KO forgiving her was good enough and just wanted to forget it, running away from things as usual. IT speaks to the diffrence in their personality: Red runs hot is stubborn and takes time to admit she’s wrong, Drupe is very chill and as the series goes on very nice, and probably wanted to get it out of the way asap given she frequents the bodega more often, either in the background or foreground. Anyways after KO reveals he actually enjoys the video as a treasured memory of when he first met the alley teens, disturbing his friends, seriously this kid needed to remerge with his edgelord side yikes, Enid gives rad a headpat and kudos for being normal and Enid decides to take all of them to go fix this. Back in the past we’re back at the bullying and before past red can post, present red explains she should stop and after clarfying this isn’t an end of the world situation, not an unfair assumption given you know time traveler, she reveals it’s for someone unimportant.. but whose important to someone they care about, and that what they were doing was a terrible thing they’ll be ashamed of anyway. It’s a good scene that shows how far red’s come: from pushing everyone but two people awaya nd treating most like garbage in a vain attempt to avoid being who she used to be, to accepting it, finding love, and becoming friends with someone she hurt and accepting she hurt him. Rad is also clearly moved seeing that Enid did indeed choose wisely. Back in the present.

... NO not this time. No instead red and rad are pals, talking about how shredded they are and what not, and while Enid finds it annoying, understandably, she’s glad their not trying to kill each other and dosen’t have to buy Rad’s gravestone or visit her girlfriend in prison. In the alterted timeline, which their also aware of by rad’s comment, time travel just go with it, they were already planning on going jelly surfing and invite enid, and implictly ko along.

So we end on our main trio and Red jelly surfing, Enid and Red sharing a board before wiping out, laughing about it and then, as if you hadn’t already seen the header but fuck it.

Yup. The subtext just became.. text. Awww. In case you were wondering, I do like them as a couple, especially after this quintology, as it’s made me realize just hwo much they click and how much chemistry they have, and by this point their just adorable, their drama gone and they can just be happy and gay together. And that’s something cartoons are doing more of and tha’ts wonderful and it’s wonderful that, with all else he had to wrap up, Ian felt confirming the gay couples lasted was extremley important, as two others are shown married in the finale. And we’ll get to the finale more in a bit, but first Rad floats by with an “I support this”, to approving smiles, and enid thinking he’s a weirdo. Also I love the meta text of having a character voiced by the shows creator say that. KO however is sad that the video is gone but ENid says the memories will last. Rad is understandably not sad about it suggests they make new ones and we end on our quintent taking a selfie together. THE END. Before final thoughts, this wouldn’t however be the last we saw of them. The finale has a bit more as it flashes forwards a bit: the relevant part is one shows Enid take over KO’s mom Carol’s dojo. with red, the two kissing again and alllooking over some supsciously familiar kids who look supsciously like the hue troop, but are probably there great grandparents. While Red dosent’ show up again after that, and could’ve gone back to the future eventuallyf or all we know, I like to think she stayed, and that as noted above, she and enid had kids together with Rad’s help given the similar looking kids we see running the bodega... which admitely was kept vauge by Ian on purpose so fans could draw their own inclusion so that’s the one i’m drawing; rad is still there for them aand still family to them, but isn’t with Enid in a romantic sense, if you think diffrently that’s fine. But My ending is these two crazy kids worked it out and are now happy ever after. and that ain’t bad. Final Thoughts: A fantastic episode with TONS of great jokes, call backs and a great resolution , showing off Rad and Red’s character development greatly,f ixing a possible plot hole and giving fans the kiss that many of them had wanted for some time. ONe of the series best I can’t gush enough about it but I shall stop for your benifit. Winx club Season 8/14

In which Sky doesn’t quote Thor

14 The Wishing Star

This episode opens, where else, at a concert at Alfea! The other students whisper and ooh and aah. So the Winx are famous pop stars but also hold concerts here like every other week and go to school here? They should be treated more like when the choir performs, I mean it’s cool but not a super big deal.

sigh this pop star thing. It feels a little less weird than it did in WoW since the girls are younger so the blatant wish-fulfilment version of being a professional musician isn’t as jarring I guess. But I still can see so many opportunities for characterization—whose idea was it to form the band? Who decided Bloom wis lead singer rather than Musa?What happens when Musa writes a song and loves it but the others hate it? What happens when there’s a concert but the girls are busy with schoolwork? Why don’t the minor fairies also form bands? Why do only Alfea students come to these concerts? When do they practice? Do they ever perform at other places in Magix and who sets that up? Where did they get the transforming instruments? Are some of the girls thinking of ‘musician’ as a future career? How will that conflict with ruling their planets? And adventuring?

So. Much. Wasted plot & characterization opportunity.

Girls sing. Cute shots of the minor fairies dancing. Knut waltzes Faragonda. Kiko crowd-surfs on the minor fairies. Stella kisses the screen.

The girls go to meet their boyfriends. Stella is adorable.

But Sky’s missing, he’s on Eraklyon. “His dad wants him to spend more time at court being a crown prince and all while Sky would rather be a professional hero.” The other specialists and Bloom express sympathy for Sky.

Season 8 timeslide: Sky is no longer king… if he ever really was, that whole thing was retconned pretty much right after Secret of the Lost Kingdom when we all realized we were going to have more stories. Also there’s no mention of Brandon being Sky’s squire as he was in season 1.

Meanwhile on Eraklyon! Cool shot of the palace! Nice landscaping?!

Yikes, Sky is yelling at his dad, “I’m a Specialist, my place is at Red Fountain!”

Erendor: “You need to put the good of the kingdom first, that’s what princes do.”

Sky: “I put the good of everyone first, that’s why I go on missions with the Specialists!”

So clearly the dubbing department hasn’t seen Thor: Ragnarok because they missed sliding in, “Because that’s what heroes do.” and having me fall over laughing. Also this situation is very much caught in the timeslide; is Sky a student still learning to rule the kingdom, or a graduate ready to begin his duties?

But as Sky walks away I see someone peering from behind a pillar… a familiar blonde head… oh no, not the number one source of couples drama in all Winx-dom! D: T_T

Diaspro’s done well by the new art style, she’s got gorgeous golden eyes and a nice braid. Her face is really wide though, she looks like an Ever After High doll. She’s hoping to take advantage of the fight so Sky “will finally be mine.”

Yeah, you tried to kill his girlfriend two seasons ago, why are you not in jail?

Diaspro plots bug me. Strap in y’alll.

Gorgeous nighttime shot of Alfea. In Bloom’s room the girls are saying how great their concert was. Then Stella goes into how hard it is to spend time with their boys when they’re busy saving the magic universe. The other girls try to shut her up before Bloom gets sad, but Stella is oblivious and just rambles on. Brandon’s planning to take her to the “magic enchanted theater” sometime soon.

Musa yells at Stella. Stella: “What’d I do this time?” And there’s Bloom, sad now. But Bloom says it’s not Stella’s fault; Sky didn’t say he was going to Eraklyon. The girls talk about boys, with a side of Grumping at Stella.

“Brandon and I always talk.”

“When Riven left we stopped talking, and that didn’t go well.”

“Sometimes Timmy doesn’t call or text but I know he’s just thinking about his projects.”

But the good news is, Valtor’s gone so everything’s going to get better!

Bloom goes outside to make a wish on a star and there’s Sky! They talk a little about not having time, and Bloom suggests Sky wish on a star for more time.

And now to what I’m really curious about! The Trix! We cut to Valtor’s asteroid and I kinda want to see him showing the girls around, but instead he’s on his throne meditating or something while the Trix float in front of him.

Exposition time! Only three witches like them can get the Wishing Star aka the Comet Star apparently, which grants wishes. It’s made of Sparks (Sparx?) The energy that gave birth to the magic universe, the stars themselves. So… Dragonfire? “the magic of fairies, and witches.”

Flashback to Valtor trying to grab the comet and getting knocked for a loop. Incompatible magic.

Icy does the, “And why should we help you?” and it turns out Valtor’s mark is on their hands—they belong to him. Just now or still from season 3, I wonder. Also once Valtor becomes the most powerful sorcerer he promises to give them immense power.

Icy, apparently forgetting every other teamup they’ve ever done, thinks this sounds like a good deal, “Am I right, sisters?”

The Wishing Star hurtles through space, quite close to Valtor’s asteroid. Our villain team warps outside and…

...And we cut to the wishing Star, which is a person of the same species as Queen Dorana, but with a more snowy theme. She comments, “Valtor’s palace. Hasn’t changed much in the last thousand years. Still creepy!” That was kinda random and cute, and also, Valtor’s had that palace for a thousand years and space people just know where it is?

...And THEN the Trix appear and the chase is on. Stormy’s storm powers seem to be able to cause a meteor storm in space. Darcy summons the illusion of a black hole which actually draws things into it. Then icy succeeds in catching the comet girl in a block of ice. The Wishing Star is caught! Valtor is pleased!

But then she sends out her power in a blast of colored lights and a star-shaped box.

Valtor goes, ‘Noooo!”

The colored lights fly away but the star box flies straight at Lumenia and nearly beans Twinkle. She flees, with the star box chasing after her! Twinkle flies to the palace for help, where Argen is admitting to his sister that he thought being king of Lumenia would be more exciting. Heh. Then in comes Twinkle, chased by a star box!

Queen Dorana recognizes it: the star case. (so, book version rather than movie version of Escape to Witch Mountain?) And it’s a bad sign! We need the Winx immediately! Twinkle goes to fetch them.

Bloom and Sky are having a peaceful evening looking at the stars… when Diaspro texts. Sky makes a horrified face.

Bloom: “Who’s messaging you?”

Oh just my ex who always teams up with villains and tried to murder you back when…

Diaspro keeps calling and Bloom says Sky should answer it. Then Twinkle arrives. Saved! Bloom and Sky must say goodbye as the Winx leave on an urgent mission!

In the Owl Sky ignores a few more increasingly irate texts then calls Diaspro back. She’s got a super secret mission from Sky’s dad! They gotta go find the “lost locket of Eraklyon, one of the most poerful items in our kingdom. And the two of us have to find it! Together!”

Sky is not down for this together stuff. He tries to tell Diaspro the mission might be dangerous, but she is undeterred. Then the other boys turn up with a new Specialist mission, that Sky has to turn down since he’s got thiss mission with diaspro.

“Diaspro? That crazy girl who won’t give up on you?”

“Yes Brandon, that’s the one.”

“Come on Sky, the Specialists aren’t afraid of anyone, even broody aristocratic girls from Eraklyon.”

In case you were wondering how the boys talk about Diaspro.

And honestly, I was sympathetic for Diaspro, she and Sky were engaged and then Sky started falling for Bloom and instead of working things out he did nothing and let both girls find out the truth by surprise in public and Bloom attacked Diaspro thinking she was Icy. Diaspro was kinda more sinned against than sinning, at that point. But the heartbreak apparently caused Diaspro to go over the edge and she started teaming up with villains, cast a love spell on Sky, and pushed a magicless Bloom into a fiery pit. My annoyance at all things Diaspro isn’t really with her, it’s with everyone who acts like Diaspro is just an annoying ex instead of a dangerous criminal.

Things from Diaspro’s perspective would make a great fanfic.

But now we’re going to Lumenia to learn about the star case and the Winx’s second mission of the season!

The Winx arrive on their hoverboards, showing those off so kids will buy the toys, then we arrive at the palace. They meet Argen, who recognizes them from his days as Obscurum but they don’t recognize him so he explains what happened to him.

Then, star case! It contains the essence of the wishing star. Tecna remembers hearing about it from Miss F in a “cosmomagic lesson.” It’s the most powerful star in the universe and it’s made out of “Sparx, a magical radiance that is the source of all fairy powers. And witch magic!” So, Dragonfire. Which is why I shall keep spelling it Sparx.

So the girl in the comet was herself a star and to defend herself she “split herself into the seven prime stars. But her essence remained inside this case.” The Winx have to find the seven stars and put them all back, so the Wishing Star can pull herself together again. But they need the star compass, which is in the case—but it won’t open.

Bloom has an idea: go inside the case! Using our Enchantix powers!

The view pulls out to show our villains watching and I want them to say something about how the Winx are still using Enchantix like last time...

But no. Valtor orders the Trix to find the compass first.

Enchantix!

And it’s… all right. I can complain about the pink creep—aka everybody is wearing more pink than the first time around—but that’s about it. It’s not a terrible redesign, but not brilliant. Musa’s translated best, I think, maybe just because her color is already pink so it’s not jarring like Aisha’s or Bloom’s.

The girls miniaturize and poof into the star box, which is like a miniworld of decorative gears. They find a ballerina figure—the star case is a music box. They find the star compass easily, and Tecna says “achievement unlocked!” again. But then a cold wind starts to blow and a familiar laugh echoes...

“The Trix they’re back!”

“I hope you like this place, because you’re never leaving.”

Cliffhanger!

How did the Trix get miniaturized, hmm?

I have a suspicion that when a season of Winx is made, both halves are made at the same time by different sets of writers. So things don’t completely match, like the Wishing Star being a person of the same sort as Dorana and Argen who are not stars. Stars were lots of things, but they weren’t people until now. I bet we’ve seen our last staryum, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Valtor uses a lot fewer portals. I’m hoping we haven’t lost Orion because stolen design or not, I really like him. And I prefer legit villain Valtor to the wimp who did nothing but pick on Obscurum for twelve episodes, so please keep him threatening to destroy the planet, ok?

•as a first year flying had come naturally to him and easily became his favourite subject but was soon replaced by defence against the dark arts

•the boy is a quick thinker and could disarm his opponent in a matter of seconds, though he is good at casting other spells he opts for a defensive style of duelling

RWBY V6 CH5 Review: The Coming Storm

It's been roughly about a month now since Volume 6 started... and ho boy, has this volume has not held back it's punches whatsoever. Within the span of four chapters we got a train wreck, long awaited questions answered, Cinder plotting her vengeance, and Salem reminding us why she is scary as Hell. We've been put through the wringer these past for weeks, and now with Chapter 5 upon us, we are all wondering how this can get anymore intense. Well delving into the horror genre seems to be a pretty good way! What do I mean? Well lets find out!

Overview

Before we check on our heroes though, lets check in on Cinder The good news for her is that Lil' Miss Malachite has gotten the information that she wanted. She informs the Fall Maiden of the good guys heading for Argus, which causes Cinder to conclude that they're heading for Atlas next. She starts to head off... until Lil' Miss refers to her by name. As it turns out, Cinder was quite the interesting figure. So much so that it brought the information broker double the business. How you may ask? Well the camera cuts to above where we see a figure standing on a beam... and carrying with her a familiar looking parasol That's right my friends, after three volumes and a ton of teasing, Neo has made her return.

Neo wastes no time, attacking Cinder and the two villainesses begin to rumble. It's a pretty awesome hand-to-hand fight too, all as a chilling new Jeff and Casey tune plays. Did I mention that I really want the soundtrack? Between this, Lionized, Miracle, and the opening this soundtrack is gong to be morbidly awesome. Lil' Miss, while clearly enjoying the show, eventually tells the two girls to take their rumble outside. It's at this point that Cinder discovers that the Neo that she's been fighting is one of her illusions... so yeah, Neo can now cast longer, more lifelike illusions. Be afraid people. Be very afraid. But it isn't long before Cinder causes the real Neo to step forward.

Now normally, Neo has a confident, pretty cocky demeanor like her former boss, which her previous illusion also demonstrated. But here? Her clothes are slightly tattered, her expression is serious and vengeful, and most notably she is now wearing a very familiar looking hat. It takes Cinder no time to realize what the deal is: Neo wants to kill her as revenge for Torchwick's death. As they fight however, Cinder points out that they both have the same goal, which is to get revenge on Little Red Ruby. Cinder finally goes into Maiden mode, causing Neo to stop in fear, ad the Fall Maiden convinces her to knock it off and that they can work together to make Ruby pay. Neo agrees to talk... well she can't really talk, which I guess we now have conformation that Neo is indeed a mute. But you get what I mean.

Back with Team RWBY, the storm is growing worst as Ruby is confused by the state of Brunswick Farms. Most places that she's seen that were abandoned were either destroyed or unfinished, but this place is fine. The group breaks into what I assume is the mayor's house and everyone scatters to look around and find supplies. Ruby's attention goes to some portraits, showing a rather happy bunch of people. Blake goes to check on her... when the two hear Weiss scream. The gang goes to find her and Yang in a state of horror... because they just found the corpses of the home owners still int heir beds. WELL... THAT WAS SOMETHING.

A little later, Qrow confirms that all of the town is dead int he same manner. Weiss understandably doesn't want to stay there, but with the storm they have no choice. Qrow goes to see if he can find anything that can transport them out, ordering the others to go nowhere alone. Blake and Yang go to see if they can find anything in the other buildings as Ruby and Weiss look around to see if they can find any food. That leaves Oscar with Maria, who tells him to keep the fire going as she looks for a bedtime story. Did I mention that I love Abuelita Maria? Because Dear God do I love her.

Blake and Yang end up in some kind of barn/shed and look around, also wondering what it could have been that killed everyone. It's pretty clear that Yang is not handling any of the recent events well and Blake is concerned, but the blonde merely says that she's tired and wants to get out of this place. She finds a wagon that looks large enough to hold everyone, but any possible relief is killed when she has a flashback to Adam. She tells Blake of how she still flashes back to that night, her hand trembling as she asks the cat girl if she believes that Adam is still out there. Blake doesn't know, especially since despite knowing that the WF will reject him for his cowardice, he'll likely force his way anyways. She would know after all, he would use force and fear to make her feel beneath him and right into his control. But still, Blake tries to comfort Yang by assuring her that she isn't going anywhere and will be there for her. It seems to help Yang... until Blake says that if Adam comes back, she'll protect her. Yang doesn't take that comment well, heading back while saying that they'll hook the wagon to Bumblebee later. And somewhere, the Bumblebee shippers aren't sure if they should cheer, cry, or both.

Back with Ruby and Weiss, they find what looks like a bar. Ruby isn't happy with this, especially considering Qrow's current mental state, but brushes it aside as she heads for a pantry. Weiss however starts to ask Ruby if they're still heading for Atlas, much to Ruby's confusion. Weiss brings up that Salem can't be killed, so what's the point of going there now? Well that's what she claims anyways. I think that we all know the real reason why she doesn't want to go back. Ruby is clearly upset about this, but Weiss takes it back and just says that she's tired and hates this place... remember this for the review. They find more alcohol and a chained up wine cellar... and some canned shrimp flavored beans! Ugh... why would anyone make those? They take the food and leave and the episode ends with one of the cellar doors opening up...

Review

If anyone was hoping that things would get more cheery.. well sorry, you're going to be waiting awhile! Man, this episode was tense. Heck,t hat's what they should have named it! Tense: The Episode. I'm not complaining though cause man, this chapter was great! The drama continues to keep us at the edge of our sets, we got some payoffs, and plenty of nightmare fuel! Thanks for the Day 5/Until Dawn crossover CRWBY! I'll be having nightmares for weeks now!

So lets talk about the villains first! Neo is back... and I really don't care. I know that Neo is a fan favorite, and it totally baffles me as to why. Her design is cute and all, but... she hasn't done anything. I mean she's.. what? Fought Yang, broke Roman out of prison, and fought Ruby before getting Mary Poppins'd off the airship. That's it. We know nothing about her as a character and her scenes are very minor. She existed to be Roman's flunky because Monty came up with a cool design at the last possible moment. Otherwise, she could have been written out and it would have changed nothing about the series. I need more than a cool character design to care about a character, hence why I wasn't upset when Sienna got killed off, so I really wasn't all that excited to have her show up again,

That being said... this CAN turn out to be a good thing. Because with Torchwick dead, it gives Neo motivation as a character. She clearly cared about her boss and now that he's gone, all that she's left with is the desire for revenge against those who got him killed in the first place. With Cinder now wanted, it made sense to go after her first, plus it was Cinder's planning that got Torchwick put into that situation to begin with. Honestly Torchwick's death may be what allows Neo to get the character that I feel that she is lacking and while I don't expect her partnership with Cinder to stick for long, it'll be interesting to see how she operates now that she has the chance to get back at Ruby.

As for the scene itself, I loved it! The fight scene was great. Fast-paced, but not over bloated. Just a really cool hand-to-hand fight with both Cinder and Neo using their abilities to their advantage. Cinder is still a bitch, but she's showing more of the more smug persona that we're familiar with while actually being logical with her convincing Neo to work with her rather than against her. Considering her current situation and lack of any backup until she redeems herself, it makes sense for Cinder to go this route, even if her mind is still mainly on making Ruby suffer. But hey, she's not screwing up any per-conceived plans to do it this time! Oh, and Lil' Miss Malachite continues to be a delight. I freakin' love this woman.

Now onto our heroes... and boy do I worry for them. God the entire sequence from them breaking into the house to finding the bodies... it was tense. Something felt so off. Poor Weiss just seems traumatized after, and I can't blame her. I'd be traumatized too. So what was it that killed an entire town? Well I think it's pretty clearly a Grimm, but we'll go more into that in a little bit. For now, lets talk about the partner scenes.

Yang and Blake's scene just... made me sad. On the one hand, I freakin' love Blank. She's gone form my least favorite Team RWBY member and not even in my Top 5 to now being a serious contender for my second favorite alongside Weiss. Throughout this chapter, she is supportive and concerned for her teammates. She goes to see what Ruby's thinking about as she stares at the photos, gives Weiss a blanket while she's clearly still reeling from her morbid discovery, and she is trying so hard to be supportive and friendly with Yang. She tries to give Yang the chance to talk about what's bothering her, opens up about how small Adam made her feel, and tries to assure Yang that she's not going anywhere and won't let her get hurt again. It really shows how much that Blake has grown since Volume 4, an I am loving every second of it.

Sadly, Yang isn't doing that great. The recent events, from Adam to everything with her mom to the new revelations to now, have clearly weighed her down. She's downcast, bitter, and frustrated. Her PTSD is still haunting her as she still has flashback and despite being willing to face her fears, those fears still haunt her. And sadly just when it looks like Blake's making a breakthrough, Yang gets upset because Blake said that she'd protect her. It's a very sweet comment, but to Yang it make her feel like she's weak an incapable. She's supposed to be the one protecting people, not the other way around. She hates feeling weak and afraid, so while Blake's comment was nothing but well intentioned, to the blonde it felt like an insult and only reinforced all the negativity brewing inside her. Clearly she needs to let it out and she and Blake need to sort everything out, then she can start to do better. Hopefully, this arc will allow that.

Onto the Ruby and Weiss pair and... man, poor Weiss. The girl is badly shaken from finding the corpses, even as she tries to keep some kind of positive attitude after. But it's clear that both the recent events and the fear of going back to Atlas are haunting her. She's afraid to go home since it means facing her father again and the threat of once more being locked away. No one would want to go back to the place where thy were kept prisoner. But she's also concerned with the recent revelations. Salem can't be killed. Even if they lock away the Relic, all it'll do is slow her down. There seems to be no point, and Weiss is considering calling it quits even if only briefly. It shows how bad of a state shes in emotionally on top of everything else, and I really worry for her.

Then of course there's Ruby. I think that this is the most serious that we've seen her in a good while. She's very much in leader mode, and after how baldy she got the shaft last volume, this is very good to see. She's concerned about the state of the town and trying to piece it together. She tries to comfort Weiss by looking for food. When she finds the bar, she want sot immediately seal it up out of concern that Qrow will get overly drunk. Clearly a lot is weighing on Ruby, yet she still displays a helpful, positive attitude. She's really trying, and it really makes me concerned for her. IDK if all that she's holding in is going to break in this volume, but with how the other three seem ready to break, this might be the right time to do it. I do think that Ruby may have to save them all though, if my current theory about the Grimm is right.

So you may remember that both Weiss and Yang being tired, Yang even showing signs of being delirious. I don't think that's just general dialogue. Remember, they were the two who found the bodies. Bodies that were tucked in bed alongside the rest of the town. It seems that whatever the Grimm is, one that I assume the town locked up until now, it killed them in their sleep There are many different ways to interpret this, but my current thought is that this is some kind of dream walker Grimm. Think of it like Freddy Kruger form Nightmare on Elm Street. Someone who haunts and tortures you in your dreams, to the point that you end up dead in the real world. And this Grimm may cause people to feel tired in order to lull them into it' trap, hence why the entire town ended up dead.

If I had to guess, Weiss, Yang, and Qrow are going to end up asleep and end up victims of the Grimm. Maybe Blake too, but who can say? IDK about Oscar either though I think that Maria will be fine. This will probably means that while everyone is trying to fight through their nightmares. Ruby may have to go into the cellar to find and kill the Grimm, which would lead to the scene in the opening. Heck, for all I know all of them will end up in the nightmares and maybe Ruby's the first to break through or something. I'm not sure. For all I know, I'm talking completely out of my ass. What I do know however is no matter what this Grimm may be or whatever is coming next, with this episode's title being 'The Coming Storm' it's NOT gonna be pretty.

Final Thoughts

Like last week, this episode had me uncomfortable throughout, but in different ways. I am seriously worried about everyone and whatever it is that's about to happen to them. No one is in a good place right now, and that's probably about to reach a breaking point. But hey, we got a cool fight scene and a new song! That was nice of them! But yeah, really enjoyed this episode! It has plenty of character development and plenty of setup for next week. So tune in then as Nightmare Fuel Theater proudly presents RWBY: Day 5 Until Dawn!

Nishinoya Yuu:

Just watching them made you exhausted. Karasuno. Doing laps on the hill just outside the gym, tossing their bodies on the gym floor to save the illusionary ball. Your eyes were focused on your best friend, Nishinoya Yuu, and you couldn’t help but flinch with each impact his little body made on the floor or every time he accidentally stumbled rushing up the hill.

But he was fine. He made sure to show you he was okay. Every time he’d come down the hill, he’d lock eyes with you and would give you the biggest smile. The smile that warmed your heart and made your lungs able to breathe again.

He was okay.

A gentle tap at your shoulder had you breaking eye contact with Nishinoya, not that he could keep it for much longer since he went rushing up the hill once more. You glanced over your shoulder to see Nekoma’s libero, Yaku Morisuke. A senpai of your best friend.

You cleared your throat and nodded to him politely, “Yaku-san, how are you doing?” You realized it was sort of rude to only speak to him from the side, so you turned your body to be able to face him properly.

“Well, a lot better than Yuu, that’s for sure.” Yaku paid no mind to your fidgeting, “How many laps has he done?”

“I lost count after I went to get some water… I think last I counted was lap 78.” Yaku whistled, impressed with his fellow libero’s stamina. “Well maybe Karasuno should actually get their act together - then he wouldn’t have to be suffering so much.”

A laugh pulled from your lips had Yaku smiling at your amusement, “It’s not their fault! Your team is just really good at catching our learning process…”

Unfortunately, your laugh also had some light brown eyes casting over to you. Sure, his vision was blurry from all the sweat in his eyes, and yeah his hair was kind of falling from the heat and exhaustion weighing down on him… but he could see you clearly. Nishinoya watched you, like a hawk, as you smiled and laughed with Yaku. His senpai.

Nishinoya wondered what it could be that you two were talking about? You didn’t know each other very well. Hell, this was probably the first time the two of you had actually talked to each other. But the two of you looked so engrossed in your conversation, so enthusiastic to answer each other.

“They’ve been practicing so hard, Yaku-san, and I think having you here as Yuu’s opponent and his support is really going to push him that extra step.”

“Well, I hope so. Otherwise I’m just beating him at his own game for no reason. And there’s no fun in that.” Another shared smile between you two and Nishinoya was suddenly scowling down at the water bottle in his hands. He couldn’t hear you, but the smiles were enough to tell him you two got along very well.

Were’t you just looking over at him earlier? Worried about him? And now you were talking it up with his senpai as if he didn’t exist anymore? A aching feeling filled his heart, and now his shoulders slumped just the tiniest bit. Maybe you didn’t like him as a best friend anymore. What would he do without you? The two of you had so much in common, liked the same things, got hyped over the same topics…

Nishinoya had never met anyone like you before. Someone so caring and understanding, someone who worried over him but didn’t make it too controlling. He’d never met a girl who likes volleyball as much as he did, and let him talk for hours on hours on hours about all the moves he was practicing. You were the only person he’d show his special moves to. Rolling Thunder had gotten its name from you!

And now you were talking to Yaku? Not even sparing him a glance to see if he’s okay?

Why did he care? It’s not like you were leaving with Yaku back to Tokyo or anything. You were going to come back home with him, to Miyagi… But still, the aching remained in his heart. Not a physical ache like that of a heart attack, but something more deep - pulling his emotions into a single, condensed ball in the pit of his stomach.

“Yuu!” Nishinoya’s head snapped up to be able to see who was calling his name. Though he’d knew who it was before he saw. He was up on his feet and jogging over to you before you could call him over, now standing to the side of where you and Yaku were currently facing each other. “Yuu, Yaku-kun says the next game for Karasuno is starting up in a few minutes.” Nishinoya’s ears caught the change of honorific… san to kun…. What else had changed?

“Looks like you guys are going to be doing laps for Fukurodani this time.” A teasing remark, but a good humored one nonetheless. You smiled, but Nishinoya’s expression was dark. A crackling aura surrounded the three of you, and Yaku felt the pinprick of an awkward situation at hand. “I have to go make sure Lev isn’t slacking… Maybe give Kuroo a kick in the pants to teach the string bean some serves.”

You laughed softly and waved as he turned and walked towards the courts, “Good luck, Yaku-kun!” Turning to address Nishinoya, you were taken aback by the intensity of his stare on your face. “Yuu…. You alright? You look exhausted..”

Nishinoya blinked rapidly before looking away, shrugging, “No, no, I’m fine. I have to make sure I’m in top shape to show off to Shouyou, otherwise he might go looking for a different senpai… Like Yaku-kun…” A snide remark that had your eyes widening - he never gave you sass… But Nishinoya pretended he hadn’t and gave you another smile. “Come on, ______, You have to come cheer for me, okay? If I don’t hear your cheering, then I don’t know if I can go on for much longer.”

Brushing off his comment for now, you struggled to find the words, so you stuck with, “Yes! Definitely!” Before his hand was around your wrist and pulling you after him towards the court.

You’d have to think about his words more thoroughly later.

Ota Motohiro in TAIPEI Fanmeeting Report!

Mokkun had two fanmeets in Taipei on the 3rd of February, and they’re his first fanmeetings overseas! I was on a trip with my friends during that time so I managed to go for the first session (thank you to my wonderful friends for indulging me and sending me to the convention centre i love all of you). My Chinese and Japanese aren’t the best so I tried my very best to understand and write down whatever I could remember! (so i’m writing this on the train right after lol)

He had quite a lot of merch lined up which included plastic folders of his Gekkan photoshoot, and about 6-8 sets of bromides? I was almost late so I bought one set of bromides for 300NTD and a cheki opportunity for 500NTD.

To start the fanmeeting off we were told to call out “Mokkun!” in the loudest and cutest voice before he emerged. He tweeted that he had specially bought nice clothes for the fanmeet in Taiwan since it was his first international one, and I really wouldn’t have guessed what it was because he turned up in a suit that was all black (including his inner shirt) and his blazer was GLITTERING lol quite extra but really nice!

The first segment was a few questions about Taiwan since he had only arrived the day before. He said that he went to Jiufen the day before and he didn’t expect it to be so windy and it was also raining a lot, so everyone had their umbrellas up and he thought it was kind of dangerous lol but he ate a lot of really good food there too. I don’t actually remember most of the questions during this segment because he was talking a /lot/ and he even apologised to the translators about it lol He was also surprised that most of the audience understood Japanese to a certain degree since we were all reacting to what he was saying without needing the translator. He also noted how Taiwan is a lot like Japan, and the entire atmosphere feels very familiar.

He talked a lot about food too. He was having dim sum the day before and he was served buns with a custard filling (im not sure how to explain it in a non chinese way but it’s like nikuman but with custard filling instead) and it was served in the bamboo steamer like the rest of the savoury dishes. When he bit into it it kind of exploded (?) and ran down onto his clothes lol He was wondering if it was meant to be a dessert separate from the rest of the dim sum, and when the audience replied him in Japanese before the translator could translate for us, he jumped out of his seat and yelled “Hey, you guys really CAN understand Japanese!”

The emcee also asked if anyone went to greet him at the airport, and Mokkun seemed to really appreciate it, and the she also asked if anyone came from overseas in which there were only about three, including myself. When I responded with 新加坡 he said シンガポール！ありがとうございます (so i was quite happy about that hehe) Mokkun himself also did a small poll on the different plays which the audience first heard of him, most from Tenimyu, followed by Toumyu, Pedasute, and a small handful from Messiah, Kurobasu and Kuroshitsuji.

For the second segment they played a behind the scenes video of Mokkun during his Gekkan and calendar photoshoot in Vietnam and it was really adorable~ And everyone was more or less commentating on it. In Vietnam, Mokkun ate a LOT of coriander/cilantro and he really liked it, even eating it by itself (something i don’t understand how anyone does) and he said he’ll eat anything with coriander in it/smells like there’s coriander in it, to the point where he feels like some kind of animal eating grass wwww

When it came to clips of that One Really Pretty Outfit the audience went “woo~” and he “woo~”ed back, but the second time they did it he got embarrassed. At this point in the video they showed him with his newly bought hand fan which he was Very amused by and now keeps in his home.

The third segment was fan questions, although I’m not entirely sure where they picked the questions from. (i apologise for the answers being in third person, i don’t want to misquote him because of my bad memory)

Q: What foods are you looking forward to eating in Taiwan, or if you have arrived, what foods have you eaten?

A: He mentioned the dim sum and custard bun, and that he’s also looking forward to/had also eaten chou tofu (smelly bean) and he was quite surprised by the strong scent.

Q: What made you decide to get into 2.5D productions?

A: Back then the industry wasn’t really called 2.5D, but he made his debut with Tenimyu and decided to carry on with that.

Q: What was your first reaction to/impression of Sengo Muramasa?

A: He was shocked when he saw that he was casted as Sengo, because he felt that he was nothing like Sengo looks and personality-wise after seeing the official illustration. He really thought it was a mistake and he wanted to bring it up to the producers, but since rehearsals were starting in two weeks he decided not to lol. He also said that because most of Team Mihotose is on the serious side, he wanted to make Sengo a different but interesting standout.

Q: Prior to your casting in Toumyu, which other swords would you have wanted to be casted as?

A: He hadn’t really thought about what other characters he could’ve possibly played, but maybe Ookurikara because he’s so cool! He also really likes the black, gold, and red colour scheme so possibly Kashuu too.

(The next question is where my brain blanked and got jumbled up but it was about cross-dressing and Anna Edelman from Magdala da Maria Live)

Because of time constraints, the emcee skipped to the final question which she felt all of us wanted to see (which we did www) which was...

Q: Please show us a sexy pose.

A: For some reason, when he thinks of a sexy pose he thinks of licking or sticking out the tongue (like Hanamiya Makoto from Kurobasu, he said, but that ones a bit gross huh). He seemed embarrassed but in the end he chose to lick his finger sjfkskfjfkf mokkun pls

Forgive me if I get the order mixed up, but the next segment was a game that Mokkun could play with the audience, where he had to find out who was the wolf among the red riding hoods from 5 participants. (I would’ve gone but I barely understood the description of the game at the beginning lol) He had 3 guesses to get it right if not there would be a punishment game (which everyone was eager to see). I swear this man knows he is ultimately Very Sexy so when asked the five of them “Are you the wolf?” he got really close to their faces so they’d crack. In the end he got it right on the last guess so everyone was vaguely disappointed hehe

The next segment I believe was where we could ask Mokkun to say something in Chinese, and the first thing that was requested was 我今晚不让你回家 (I won’t let you go home tonight) (“Huh? Why is this so erotic lol” -Mokkun upon hearing the translation and learning how to say it) and someone else shouted NUGIMASHOUKA and without needing someone to tell him how to say it in Chinese and without hesitation he said 我们一起脱下吧！The only other two things he remembers how to say in Chinese are “Hello everyone” and “Thank you” wwww

Since Mokkun was in Jiufen the day before, he bought five fans for his fans (haha get it), signed and all and there was a lucky draw done with the ticket stubs. The Big prize was an alarm clock also signed by Mokkun, and the lucky person who’s stub was drawn got to get a personalised wake up call recorded on the clock. While deciding on what he should say that one same person shouted 我不让你起床 (I won’t let you wake up) (“Hey seriously?”)

The next segment was a free photo taking event, which I was slightly surprised was a thing, where he just went around the room striking Very Cute poses. We can’t post any of them online at all but I have about 50 photos of him in my phone now lol if I had a better seat there would definitely be more. Mokkun said he’d never done stuff like this in Japan but he was quite happy to be able to do it now.

With that it more or less concluded the fanmeet. Mokkun was very grateful to those who showed up and supported him, and that we’ll continue to watch future productions he’s in. He also slipped in a promotion to by the UtaPri DVD lol

Oh and there was the cheki segment at the end! Everyone except for around five people bought the cheki, and we had the option to either do a peace sign with Mokkun or a heart, and you can probably tell what everyone went for wwww afterwards we got to high-five him. It was my first cheki ever so I was nervous especially since everyone else looked really good and cute?? Also I am Quite Small so Mokkun did feel quite tall to me. When we leaned in to do the heart he really did smell very nice~ (“you smell like shit” -me to my friend wearing dior @ prom) And his smile was absolutely gorgeous I’m glad I got to look at it up close..

First fanmeet experience was great and I’m really glad I seized the opportunity~ I’ve really loved Mokkun since getting into 2.5D with Pedasute so I’m really happy I got to see him IRL.

All For One | Episodes 16-30

Episode 16: Fish in a Barrel

Characters: Dorothy (Gwenlyn Cumyn), Portia (Claire Gagnon-King), Ariana (Xavier Lopez), Miller (Dan Mousseau), Rochefort (Damien Doepping)

Plot: So we’ve upgraded from foam swords to Nerf guns, I’m not mad about it. We’re 16 episodes in and honestly, who would have thought that Portia would be looking to rally the group together. We’ve got lots of cute Portiana moments including some action in the back from Miller and Dorothy but what we’re mostly focused on is Portia’s concern that her MST sisters thinks she’s a ditz and think that she slept with Rochefort if you remember correctly is because of the scheming everyone else put her up to. SMH.

Portia’s phone goes off, it’s an email from Rick inviting Portia to his office, the other three are excited while Portia isn’t having it. She’s clearly uncomfortable and I hate that everyone ignores it!

We get a secret moment between Miller and Dorothy, Dorothy goes back to catching up with the Inseparables until none other than Rochefort makes an appearance, a drunk appearance. I love the writers for this moment because I actually feel for Douchecanoe and that takes a lot! So it looks like Douchefort came to see if Dorothy knows who “he” is, he, referring to Miller who just left and there are suddenly red flags everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE! Dorothy being naive as she is doesn’t get it, blaming it on Rochefort being drunk but he tries again before he leaves.

Episode Takeaway: Portia can do anything except outrun a clown on a unicycle.

Best Inseparable Line: Portia is the Queen of Baes, yas sometimesawesome

First thought: More Portia in my life is a good thing.

Final thought: Dorothy, hunny...Let’s get your head out of your ass, yeah?

Episode 17: The Good Guys

Characters: Dorothy, Portia, Ariana, Miller

Plot: Things are not well at Dumas and it’s pretty clearly written on Portia’s face. The gang is in celebration mode, something they seem to be doing quite often, which means that the next step in their Rick take down must have been successful. Ariana’s getting cockier by the episode, Portia’s getting more uncomfortable by the episode and WHY ISN’T ANYONE SEEING THIS.

Back to the plan, Portia convinces Rick to leave his office and endured some very much unwanted advances while Ariana hacked into Rick’s computer, finally. Thinking they’re finally going to get a break from the scheming, Portia’s proven wrong when she gets filled in that Ariana left something in Rick’s office, a little meth, NBD. A LITTLE METH. Which we now know is the secret that Dorothy and Miller were chatting about in episode 16.

This plan is the straw that breaks the camel’s back and Portia’s on her feet finally blowing up at everyone the way they deserve and they are shooketh. Ariana tries to justify their decision, Dorothy and Miller don’t care, Rick’s computer is finally decrypted and it looks like he’s got a ton of weird/unexplainable photoshopped photos of himself and...photos of Anne, naked photos of Anne.

Now that we know what he’s holding over her, what does our lovely team do next? Portia wants to stop and we’re team Portia right now. She’s the voice of reason and everyone else seems to ignore her, her girlfriend included. Miller gets a call on his super duper flip phone informing him that Rick’s been let go by campus security. Things are far deeper than anyone’s prepared for and one can only imagine what’s happening from here.

Portiana gets into a fight, for reasons completely valid. Ariana completely ignores what Portia is saying and a very awkward break up ensues in front of Dorothy and Miller. This is when I know Miller’s some sort of shady. While the conversation goes on in the background, Dorothy looks sad, probably wondering if she had a hand in this while Miller smirks and Ariana fights back tears as Portia walks out.

Episode Takeaway: There are no good guys.

Best Inseparable Line: It’s the 21st century! Liberate women’s bodies. We see you cookiemonster.

First thought: Once again, Portia is sad and no one is paying attention to her. Miller I truly do hate you. Dorothy, what has happened to you?

Final thought: Miller’s the real douchecanoe. Portia deserves a lot better.

Episode 18: Midnight

Characters: Dorothy, Ariana, Miller, Connie (Linnea Currie-Roberts)

Plot: Well hello Ariana, looks like someone get a makeover! I love the wardrobe choices for Ariana after the blowout with Portia, I think it goes to show how much she’s changed from the beginning of the season. Ah, they’re drinking again and that never leads to anything good. So we get an update on how they’ve been toying with Rick using the information on his computer and he doesn’t know who’s doing it, yet.

The team is losing sight of what the initial plan was which means that their downfall has yet to happen. Miller and Ariana are in this maniacal supervillain glow and I think Dorothy is finally seeing how far they truly have gone. She’s updating the Inseparables on what’s been going on until she’s interrupted by a tired-looking Connie who was up late talking to Monty (are you even real?).

Connie brings the harsh truth to Dorothy asking her what’s really going on what with Miller never in class and Ariana avoiding her MST responsibilities. Connie’s genuinely worried and there seems to be something going on with her too but try as she might, Dorothy can’t seem to get it out of her.

Connie heads to bed, Ariana comes back and Dorothy looks like she’s finally going to Mom up and lay down the hammer. Ariana’s neglecting everything and Dorothy’s trying to help her realize what she’s been doing and in typical Ariana fashion she leaves in huff of smoke but not before giving Dorothy a thumb drive of the latest data she’s stolen from Rick’s computer, only this time, on Miller and perhaps his true reasoning for helping the girls.

Episode Takeaway: Ariana has a past of hacking which she gave up after joining MST.

Best Inseparable Line: I’M ALWAYS A SLUT FOR RECAPS. Same chiefofmemes, same.

First thought: Where do I get that jacket, Ariana?

Final thought: I lowkey wanna slap Ariana in the face. Is that allowed?

Episode 19: It Hits the Fan

Characters: Dorothy, Miller, Connie

Plot: After looking through what Ariana gave her, Dorothy finally sees Miller for who he really is and admits how much she really was in denial and speak of the devil, Miller walks in toting snacks. Dorothy confronts Miller and tells him to stop lying once and for all and he laughs. He actually freaking laughs.

So it turns out Miller’s been lying the entire time, he’s actually been working for Rick pretty much as one of his goonies. For example, he helped Rick sabotage a girl that Rick didn’t like during exam week, also that thing with the professor’s wife and much more. It’s actually disgusting the worst part about it, he actually tries to justify what he’s been doing and I hope Dorothy doesn’t eat this up.

Miller plays it all off like he’s some hotshot badass but then Dorothy reveals she’s seen the older files too. Police reports no doubt involving Miller and that’s when we see him finally show his true colors. Police seem to be on the hunt for Anton hence the change to Miller so why is Miller still doing all of this? Oh because he loves Dorothy and confesses it in a rather shitty and manipulative way, in my opinion at least. Dorothy doesn’t get it, she’s confused and Miller seems to be feeding her shovel after shovel of shit.

Turns out, Anne turned down a proposal from Rick and Miller, knowing he had to take down MST was just trying to protect Dorothy and I absolutely hate it but kudos to Dorothy for pushing him away! She threatens to take Miller down if he doesn’t leave and in a very dramatic fashion he leaves with a, “You’ll change your mind.”

Dorothy finally breaks down and who comes to her rescue? Connie. CONNIE MOTHER FUCKING BONACIEUX! It’s finally over with Miller, Dorothy blames herself and Dornie hugs.

Episode Takeaway: Miller gets paid a lot to do something that he’s really good at. So how much to pay him to go away?

Best Inseparable Line: BREAK HIS ARMS. sometimesawesome is my spirity animal.

First thought: Miller is disgusting.

Final thought: DORNIE HUGS. Miller is still disgusting.

Episode 20: Last Dance with Miller Winters

Characters: Dorothy, Miller

Plot: Dorothy’s dealing with her messy break up as much as best as she can and honestly I’m just glad we don’t have another Burrito Blanket disaster. She misses Miller and as crazy as it sounds, it’s understandable, she honestly thought he was being genuine and maybe a part of him was but, meh. So the Inseparables try to get her to keep positive and Dorothy does what’s probably the most responsible thing I’ve seen her do all season, writer her college paper.

When the live stream comes back up it’s nighttime and Miller is creepily hovering over the computer and we officially hate how he calls them digital beans. Dorothy comes back threatening to break his arms and Miller looks deranged with power. We say punch him.

Miller came to erase the files Dorothy had on him and Dorothy can’t believe he’s actually that stupid to think she’d hold things over his head that he did when he was 15. Miller in a very aggressive, creepy way, tries to manipulate Dorothy to get back together with him and all of a sudden the Miller that Alex and Rochefort mentioned before is in front of us. Dorothy almost falls for the Miller bullshit but our girl knows better and kicks him to the curb, again. Oh but also, we get a Dorothy slap and an enraged Dorothy is back and with a plan!

Episode Takeaway: Dan Mousseau is a genius at playing the villain.

Best Inseparable Line: She dumped u dude get OVER it #desperate. You tell ‘em emblue!

First thought: Sad Dorothy is sad.

Final thought: The writers really know how to throw a punch in this episode.

Episode 21: We’ll Do It Live

Characters: Dorothy, Alex, Ariana, Portia, Treville (Denise Yuen)

Plot: Before I go on, we have to note that the cast and crew behind All For One is absolutely phenomenal. In episode 21 we get not only a 20-minute episode, but a live episode at that and with chatties from fans of the show.

So we have all of the people back for this episode and a new venue, in Dorothy’s attempt to fix basically everything. We get a great little monologue from Dorothy on how she thinks her family, mainly her mom and gran would react to the mess she’s gotten herself into.

So while Dorothy waits for the girls to show up she tries her best to remain calm and collected, by that I mean she feng shuis the room like a million times and with some moral cyber support from Connie, Dorothy finally starts to feel like she has things under control, kinda.

Ariana’s the first to show up, looking darker than usual in her black on black ensemble that even I’m envious of. She’s still playing the bitter card and it’s really getting to Dorothy but she tries to reel Ariana back in and they actually get into a bit of an emotional conversation, until Portia shows up (yay)! Portia admits she’s only there to fill Alex in on what’s been going on and in a not so subtle way, Dorothy leaves to “check on something” leaving Portiana alone.

Portia’s back at the computer catching up with the Inseparables while Ariana broods in the corner. I like that the writers gave the characters times to interact with the Inseparables, really showing off the abilities of the actors. Things get emotional and Ariana finally speaks up, where they both realize what went wrong in their relationship and the overall theme is COMMUNICATION.

Next to enter the scene is Alex and by enter, I mean pop up from behind one of the lounge couches in a very short dress and clearly intoxicated. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ALEX WE KNEW? Well she’s clearly gone off the deep end and if Alex can do it, it can happen to anyone. Dorothy returns and she starts what I like to call, the rambliest of ramble apologies ever, as she should. Portia is the first to forgive her, while Alex and Ariana are next in line to admit that a lot of what happened with Miller isn’t her fault. So in an attempt to save what’s left of Anne’s image, the girls are banding together again to protect her with Portia volunteering as leader and we are here for it folks. We are here for it.

Episode Takeaway: This wasn’t a literal, figurative disaster as Dorothy thought. The actors are freaking phenomenal.

Best Inseparable Line: You’re going to need a strong drink for this. We should all have one. Sassyinspanish, also my spirit animal.

First thought: NEW VENUE! NEW VENUE! A live episode and Dorothy’s wearing...Overalls?

Final thought: THE GANG IS BACK TOGETHER AGAIN.

Episode 22: Caper

Characters: Portia

Plot: We get a Portia-centric episode with a brand new confident Portia and we love it. She’s taking the lead and she’s manning the group via walkie talkie from Dorothy’s apartment, in an attempt to get the stolen pictures back from Rick.

Alex goes against the plan and finds an open window and decides to climb inside, obviously. Ariana sounds like a pod person, very robotic as she reports back to Portia and we finally get to see Portia’s reaction to Ariana’s new demeanor and while she says she doesn’t care, we all know she cares. Alex continues on with a plan of her own and Portia tries not to have an aneurysm at Mission Control.

Dorothy has no idea what to do to distract a guard but she’s caw-cawing on the walkie and then there’s silence. I know I should be worried and not laugh but I am, I’m laughing so hard. Portia finally takes the reins back on Mission Control, the girls make it to Rick’s office and then the walkie goes dead.

Episode Takeaway: We need more Portia in the future.

Best Inseparable Line: Kitten, let’s not pretend you don’t care enormously. Sica_inimicis calling it like it is.

First thought: PORTIA! PORTIA WITH GLASSES!

Final thought: Boss Portia is a thing, but nervous Portia is still a thing and I love it.

Episode 23: Rough at the Edges

Characters: Dorothy, Alex, Portia, Ariana, Rochefort

Plot: Following the plot to get into Rick’s office the girls regroup back at home base and Portia fills us in on what we missed. In attempt to save Dorothy from the guards, Portia had to climb through the window Alex did in episode 22 and she pulled the fire alarm to distract the guards (something we don’t recommend doing).

Ariana wasn’t able to get to the photos but she was able to disable the cameras, Dorothy tries to salvage the setback in their mission but the other girls aren’t having it. They look pretty defeated and Dorothy does her best to perk the girls up. Ariana leaves and Portia admits to Dorothy her doubts about being a leader and it’s honestly endearing. Dorothy cheers her up and it’s so great to see how much Dorothy has gone back to being the girl we saw in the first episode.

So the team regroups for attempt number two to get the stolen photos back and it was a failure to say the least. Alex fell out of a tree amd Miller was disguised as a guard with a fake mustache. We see a bit of the old Alex when Miller gets brought up and I just want her to come back! Ariana gets grumpy and leaves to meet Portia for coffee, coffee where they discuss being friends and never touch each other below the waist again coffee, Ariana’s words, not mine!

Alex leaves too after some not so great words are exchanged and then we’re back with Ariana post-Portia coffee. There aren’t any updates on accessing Rick’s files so Dorothy tries to get her to take a break and after a bit of opposition, she finally succeeds but not without a knock on the door from Rochefort.

Episode Takeaway: Dumas has hidden tunnels.

Best Inseparable Line: I would do anything you say #QueenPortia. I’m starting to think chiefofmemes has a crush.

First thought: Why is Alex on the floor.

Final thought: The Ariana we know seems to be coming back!

Episode 24: Underhanded

Characters: Dorothy, Ariana, Rochefort, Portia, Alex, Treville (Denise Yuen)

Plot: We pick up with Rochefort at the door and he actually asks to come in, which is...weird. Portia and Ariana come back into the room and Rochefort offers up information on Miller’s next play which is also looking for the Dumas tunnels. As it turns out Owen isn’t so stupid after all handing over the map of the tunnels and his building keys, now we wait for the other shoe to drop.

The only thing Rochefort wants is for all of Miller’s files and without hesitation, Dorothy accepts. PLEASE tell me there are copies of Miller’s files. Ariana thinks it’s a trap, Portia thinks he actually might be genuine, Alex doesn’t care and Dorothy refuses to be the deciding factor but the girls actually have valid reasons as to why she should vote on what to do next.

The live stream kicks back up and we’re at a new venue, the MST house! So update! The girls wiped Rick’s cloud, broke into his office, cracked into his safe and found the remaining files that Rick has against Anne. I’d call that a win. The girls break the thumb drive together, using a flowerpot, causing Treville (YES) to walk in with a sword, a real freaking Musketeer sword, as if she couldn’t get more badass.

Treville’s looking for an explanation, Dorothy tells her they’ve wiped the photos clean and Treville looks rather relieved but also confused. Dorothy, once again not aware of social cues, asks if this means she could be an MST sister and Ariana asks to play with her sword. Timing guys, timing.

Episode Takeaway: Treville is a badass and I didn’t realize how much I missed her until now, the rapport between the girls is amazing!

Best Inseparable Line: Never underestimate a douchecanoe, they might grow up and become douchekayaks. Breton FTW.

First thought: Hello, Owen - you’re looking very smug today.

Final thought: TREVILLE!

Episode 25: Dorothy the Sigma

Characters: Dorothy, Connie, Treville, Miller

Plot: From the title I think it’s pretty obvious to say what happens. Our beloved Dorothy Castlemore, is finally a Mu Sigma Theta pledge. She breaks out into a happy dance which Treville so happily interrupts until she realizes that Dorothy and Connie are live streaming and insists that they need permission. Plot twist. Dorothy has been texting with Anne, including emojis and Treville does not look impressed. Control, much? Also making an appearance in the chatties this episode are Ariana, Alex and Portia, how great is that?

So on another note, why is Connie there? Not that we’re mad. Somehow Monty comes up and Connie reveals that they broke up and Dorothy tries to be supportive without flailing her arms in gay. We get some great Dornie conversation and I’ve missed this so much, it starts to feel like the conversation’s about to take a serious turn when Miller shows up (seriously, do these people not lock their doors!).

So he swaggers in and eyes Connie in a very uncomfortable way. Turns out he’s been hanging out with Monty...comforting her in her break up. WHAT A FREAKING ASSHOLE. Something isn’t right and cue the phone ringing. Connie gets a call from Treville and it looks like she’s been kicked from her sorority after photos of Connie have been leaked, making its way around the university.

Episode Takeaway: Dornie

First thought: DOROTHY’S A SIGMA! DOROTHY’S A SIGMA!

Final thought: Dorothy’s going to protect her girl, dont’ worry.

Episode 26: The Connie Conundrum

Characters: Dorothy, Connie, Treville

Plot: Dorothy has a black eye (again), picking fights left and right, protecting anyone who makes fun of Connie. It’s cute how protective Dorothy is over her girlfriend. Miller seems to have dropped off the map and he’s lucky, because Dorothy would end him. Rick resigned and it isn’t enough for Dorothy because he really should have suffered.

Dorothy’s worked up, Connie tries to calm her but can’t get through to her. Dorothy returns with Treville and our newest pledge is trying fix Connie’s sorority situation by getting her into MST and oh would you look at that, Anne sends Treville an email telling her to make Connie a pledge. What’re the odds? So now Connie’s a Sigma and Dorothy’s giving her these, “don’t be mad at me eyes” and Connie loves it.

After reveling in the joy of being an MST for a whole 20 seconds, Connie finally decides to answer her parents’ incessant calls and comes back very not joyous. It looks like her parents are pulling her out of Dumas, end of story.

Episode Takeaway: Revenge porn is a thing and slut shaming isn’t okay.

First thought: Oof, the fallout. I hate sad Connie.

Episode 27: But What If

Characters: Dorothy, Connie,

Plot: We’re back at Dorothy’s place and Connie’s lugging her suitcases to the door much to Dorothy’s dismay. I don’t understand how Connie can be so...relaxed about the whole situation and Dorothy is trying to hard to get her to fight to stay.

Brainstorming ensues and a brilliant plan comes to fruition!

Episode 28: Bonacieux Bonanza

Characters: Dorothy, Alex, Ariana, Connie, Portia, Treville, Miller, Rochefort

Plot: So this brilliant plot of theirs to raise money for Connie to stay? An MST carnival, complete with the ladies of MST in bathing suits to promote body positivity! I have to say this plan is pretty brilliant, after the slut shaminG/victim blaming going on at Dumas, I love that MST came together to support body positivity and fighting the bullies!

Everyone seems to be going back to normal, kind of and we get a rare Portiana moment alone. Awkward Ariana is so cute and it’s so clear that she wants to work on things with Portia and honestly, may the odds be ever in her favor. They finally reach some middle ground and they agree to work on their friendship.

Treville appears to quickly shut down the camera and when we’re back we get some paint-covered MST girls after the day’s festitivies. Things are going great until Miller appears (ugh) and he’s got some news. There’s an interim student union President and it’s...drumroll please...FREAKING ROCHEFORT.

Episode Takeaway: Rochefort is literally the worst.

Best Inseparable Line: That is not how a selfie stick works. It truly isn’t ai_firestarter.

First thought: Look at all these happy people!

Final thought: Um Rochefort...what about your deal with Dorothy?

Episode 29: Douche Heel Turn

Characters: Dorothy, Connie, Portia, Ariana, Alex, Rochefort, Miller, Treville

Plot: So it looks like the deal’s off after Rochefort realized having Miller on his side would be more useful, alas our girls got played. Miller, being the stupid henchman that he is follows orders to tear down the fundraiser and leave it to the girls to talk some sense into Rochefort. Manipulation from the other side doesn’t look so bad.

Alex takes her stand against Miller calling him a user, a parasite and I AM LIVING FOR THIS MOMENT, it’s been such a long time coming. Rochefort finally comes to his senses and stands up to Miller too and does what we’ve all been waiting for. HE’S FIRED! Rochefort’s obviously shaken up by standing up to his cousin, we don’t blame him but it’s honestly for the best.

Episode Takeaway: ALEX IS BACK.

Episode 30: Inseparable

Characters: Dorothy, Connie, Ariana, Alex, Portia, Treville

Plot: So the fundraising event only raised half of what Connie needed and since they weren’t going to meet their goal, they started refunding their money. Dorothy calls Connie a pretty lady and there are feelings. We get a cute Dornie moment and it actually hurts.

In a twist of events, we have a sincere moment in which Dorothy finally tells Connie how she feels and I am screaming. Dorothy basically confesses her love for her and the timing sucks but here we are. Connie’s hesitant, I totally get it but Dorothy’s looking at her with her sad eyes saying what they have is worth fighting for and then it happens. Connie grabs Dorothy’s face and they’re KISSING.

So they kiss a bit more until the MST girls show up with drinks to distract what’s going on and Portia calls out the new energy in the air because TA-DA Dornie is a thing! The girls hug it out and Portia laughs because they’re going to be sisters soon and Ariana is quick to point out she never wants to think of Portia that way.

We get the cutest all for one and one for all moment, find out that Dorothy is moving into the house next semester, Treville is running for MST president after Anne leaves and Portia reveals she’s looking to run too. SO MANY OPTIONS. WE WANT THEM ALL TO WIN.

The Nerf guns make an appearance, shenanigans ensue and Treville shows up to let Connie and Dorothy know that they are both officially Mu Sigma Theta sisters. Treville, ever the professional looks like she’s going to leave when Dorothy tells her to stay and Treville is the cutest when she asks if she means it! Dorothy hands her a Nerf gun which Treville shoots with great aim and we can’t not love this group more.

But that’s not all. The Inseparables have an announcement, they’ve banded together to help fundraise for Connie to stay. All is well at Dumas and this has been one hell of a journey.

That’s not at all again...There’s a knock on the door and well...it’s Monty. WELL F@#$!

A Whole New World pt. 6

I sigh as I finish drying off and put on some shorts and a tank top I bought the other day. I walk back into my living room and Aaliyah is sitting on the couch and I sigh as I look over “yeah yeah I’ll spill the beans, god, okay well I went to give his jacket back and oh yes if I didn’t think I could embarrass myself anymore than I already had I was dead wrong. Mira told me where to find him in the guild so I go into the room hes in and I am so stupid I didn’t realize what it was in the first place, it was a damn like public bath and I manage to TRIP into the DAMN BATH AND I FALL and of course hes right THERE and i got his fucking coat wet and I looked down and realized he was naked and it wasn’t just like a pool” I say in a dramatic way with my head in my hands groaning loudly. “Oh, wow, I don’t even know what to say really that’s hilarious but, did you see it? Like how big was it.” Aaliyah says while smirking.

“GOD I don’t know I looked and as soon as I saw his lower half was fucking naked I didn’t stare long enough to see how big his dick was, and oh yeah even better I got so embarrassed that my magic went a little haywire and I made flowers and vines literally bust out of the ground. So that was great they need to call a gardener or weed exterminator to go fix the bath area because of me now. And damn it I got his fucking jacket wet.” I rub my face and groan loudly again.

“God we need to go on a job tomorrow, start saving money, and maybe have a nice relaxing shopping trip.” I say looking at Aaliyah “Yeah, doing jobs will help us train which we really need and honestly maybe we should go somewhere to practice our magic too not just on jobs because we really need to get stronger, ohhhh and I met someone from our guild today.” Aaliyah says to me.

I raise an eyebrow “Oh yeah, thats cool I feel like there are a bunch of people who we haven��t met yet, I feel like I only ever see Laxus, but we did meet Nab and Mira and the guild master, oh yeah and that stripper guy Gray I think, but who did you meet? I hope they were nice, I feel like everyone has been so friendly.” I ask while sitting down on the couch next to her and putting my feet up on the coffee table in front of it.

“He was nice, I actually bumped into him and asked if he could tell me where the bookstore was since I was just wandering around trying to find it, he was going there too so we just walked together and I didn’t even find out we were in the same guild until we introduced ourselves at the bookstore. He was sweet and helped me reach a book, he has really nice long green hair too, but ehm yeah he was really helpful.” She said and I eyed her then grinned.

“YES, you have found someone I can tease you over nowwww, I bumped into Laxus the first time I met him and now you bump into a man and he just happens to be in the same guild? Ah, fate is a funny thing.” I say giggling.

Aaliyah playfully glares at me “I thought you didn’t believe in fate and does that mean you think you and Laxus are fated then? Because I think you are, I mean how many times can you interact with a person like you and Laxus have before you realize you like each other and should go out? Apparently a lot for you two.” I wave her off, “blah blah, maybe I do like him but I mean come on hes a hunk, I said it before I’ll say it again I don’t even know the man I couldn’t possibly want to go out with him, I would love to see him in that bath again.”

I shake my head to stop my thoughts from wandering too far into dangerous erotic territory and I cough. “So, anyways I was thinking we should go out to eat for dinner, maybe try to find some places with food we like. Just to relax and have a nice night.” I suggest.

“Hmmm actually that does sound nice. Freed was telling me some places he liked on the way to the bookstore I think I remember a few that sounded good, let’s go.” She says hopping up. “Hmmm you and Freed huh, kind of a weird name.” I say scrunching up my face and she eyes me “any weirder than Laxus?” I stick my tongue out “fair enough fairy enough, let’s go.”

We walk out of the dorms and the sky has started to get dark, “Hm, perfect time for dinner, I’m already starting to get hungry.” I say as my stomach rumbles to confirm my hunger. We walk along the streets of Magnolia taking in the early nightlife. Everything is starting to come alive from people coming home from their jobs and wanting some relaxation with their friends.

The low sun casts a beautiful orange pink glow on the city and the summer breeze gently warms me and I smile. This place is truly magical isn’t it. I feel so at peace here, brimming with life and possibilities. Aaliyah leads us down certain streets as she reads a map she bought earlier. “Here, he said this place had really good food for dinner.” She says pointing at the sign ‘Little M’s’ I shrug “I trust you and I’m sure we can find something good in there.”

We walk in and I gasp softly, “damn, it’s gorgeous in here” I say while looking at the ceiling with multicolored lanterns all over, which made the whole restaurant glow and give off a light pleasant atmosphere. My gaping mouth slowly turns into a smile as we sit down at a table for two “I hope the food here is as good as the way it looks, man holy shit this is the prettiest restaurant I’ve ever been in.” I say still in awe, and Aaliyah nods also looking around at everything.

The bar was wide and had an aray of drinks to see behind the counter and Aaliyah catches me gaze “oh no, don’t even think about it, not tonight at least, no more rubbing yourself up on hunky men alright, you are a lightweight anyways.” She says to me and I make a face “pffft, come on I was just admiring, I’m here for the food alright, no alcohol, it wasn’t even my fault, dumb wizard alcohol didn’t even taste like it had any liquor in it.” A waitress comes up and hands us both menus and asks for our drink order “I’ll have hmmm, what do you recommend that’s sweet” I ask “well, I personally love our peach milkshakes, the peaches are locally grown and the whip cream is homemade as well, it’s delicious.” I nod “oh yeah I’ll take that and a water thank you.” Aaliyah orders a watermelon iced drink and a water.

We look over the menu and several things catch my eye, eventually the waitress comes back over and I order the Blue Sky Bolognese and Aaliyah gets the Fresh Kagoshima Ramen. We talk about everything that’s happened since we got here and laugh about how we already have so much going on and how we really need to train more and drink our drinks while enjoying ourselves. Eventually our food gets out to us and we dig in. “Ohhh wow, your friend Freed was right this is so good man.” Aaliyah nods in agreement “oh mine too, we should come here more.” We eat while listening to the soft music being played.

“Excuse me ma’am we would like our ticket now.” I say to the waitress as she passes us “Oh, well this kind man actually paid for your tab hes right up on the second floor.” She says pointing up at a table on the second floor right next to the edge where I could see and I grip my fork. “Laxus...Are you kidding me. I’m gonna, God help me I don’t know.” I sigh as the waitress looks concerned for me but I hold down my anger and Aaliyah tries to not laugh at me getting red in the face again.

“Oh that’s weird Freed is up there with him I guess they know each other.” Aaliyah says while she waves to Freed and I look up to the table to look at Freed but make eye contact with Laxus and his damn smirk as he waves at me and I just glare back, red in the face, “Laxus, if you can hear me, I swear I’m gonna, oh god I don’t even know where I’m going with that sentence, forget it.” I grit my teeth and put on a fake smile and wave sarcastically at him. “Okay time to go.” I say and get up and Aaliyah just sighs “you are so weird, a man pays for our food and you get mad”

I pinch the bridge of my nose as we walk out “I’m not really mad, it’s just I don’t like when people I don’t know pay for my stuff and I keep embarrassing myself in front of him and he keeps helping me, it’s frustrating, look that person is selling cute key chains I’ll buy him one as a thank you gift and give it to him real quick.” I say walking over and buying one that had a green leaf with a lightning bolt on top of it. I hold it up smiling sarcastically “perfect, cliche and everything. Ugh, I’ll show that bastard to buy stuff for me.” I grumble and we walk back into the restaurant and head up to where his table is he turns around in his seat and smirks like he was expecting me.

I give a sarcastic smile as I approach him “well well, I was wondering if you were going to come up here and thank me.” He says sounding absolutely sexy with his deep voice and I have to stop myself from blushing just hearing it. I clear my throat and hold out the key chain “Right yeah thank you, and here it’s a thank you and a sorry for getting your jacket wet and everything else that I did.” I say not looking at him “So, this is what you meant when you didn’t finish your sentence of ‘if you can hear me I swear I’m gonna’” My eye widen at his remark “well good to know you somehow have super hearing as well as lightning magic.” He shrugs as he takes the key chain and his fingers brushed against mine, they felt incredibly warm and they look so big, I wonder how they would look holding mine.

I once again shake my head “Hm, cute, It’ll be my good luck charm for the S class quest me and my team are leaving on tomorrow morning, probably won’t be around for a month or so.” He says looking at the chain and my heart sinks a bit “oh, well, erm stay safe I guess, and good luck.” I say and Aaliyah says the same to Freed who has been sitting and watching our conversation from across the table.

They both thank us and we turn and leave once again. “Damn, they are going to be gone a whole month, that... Hpmh that sucks, won’t have any eye candy for a while, but this gives us time to train without me getting distracted so, that’s a plus.” I say and Aaliyah nods but we both stay silent thinking about the two men who we will probably not be able to get out of our minds for a whole month being gone as we walk home.
