34. meeting at a masquerade ball au (760 words)
Someone had allowed the event planner to hire a quartet of jizz-wailers for the masquerade. The off-key kloo horn player was adding to the headache that Obi-Wan’s elaborate suit and matching mask had brought on at the beginning of the night. The only upside to the mask Obi-Wan had been required to don for it was that it hid his facial expressions. He wasn’t sure he’d be able to hide his distaste for the worst of the songs otherwise.
The mask otherwise was nothing but a hindrance. The Order had sent him because they’d gotten a tip that there would be an illicit deal taking place during the ball: that the Zygerrians were selling force sensitives to the Neimoidians. For what purpose was unknown, and Obi-Wan was tasked with stopping the deal and gathering information. He had his suspicions on which Trade Federation and Zygerrian representatives would be here, but it was difficult to identify anyone with the ornate masks and disguises every being in the room wore.
Obi-Wan was startled out of his perusal of the dance floor – he’d been tracking three different Zygerrians on the floor, and he was about to rule out one of them as his mark - by someone bumping into his elbow and spilling their drink on him.
“So sorry, I didn’t see you there. Here, let me help you clean up.” Before Obi-Wan could say anything the stranger had looped their arm through his and was pulling Obi-Wan toward the freshers.
“I’m quite alright,” Obi-Wan protested, “It’s just white wine, I can just grab a napkin here to clean it up.”
“Kriff,” the stranger muttered. “I knew I should have grabbed a different drink.”
Obi-Wan narrowed his eyes and dug his heels in. Regardless, the other man kept dragging him. Unwilling to cause a scene, Obi-Wan gave in and followed. When they made it through the fresher door the stranger took off his blue and green mask, covered in large feathers, and revealed his face.
“Again, I’m so sorry Master Kenobi, but I’ve got important information for you.” Earnest blue eyes met his and Obi-Wan swallowed back the biting retort he’d been prepared to reply with.
“I’m afraid you have me at a disadvantage,” he said instead. The stranger bit their plush lip, drawing in Obi-Wan’s eyes, while they debated whether to reveal their identity or not.
“Knight Anakin Skywalker,” the man said finally, offering his hand out for Obi-Wan to shake. Instead, he grasped his fingers gently and bent down to press a soft kiss to the back of Anakin’s hand. “I – I’m a shadow from the Tatoo system. I’ve been tracking the Zygerrians you’re here for.”
Obi-Wan pushed his own mask up so he could speak to Anakin face to face. It was a relief to have another Jedi here. Normally this mission would have been assigned to a Master with a senior Padawan, or two Knights, but with rising tensions throughout the galaxy the Jedi were spread thin.
“Pleased to meet you Anakin,” he said warmly. “People might start to notice if we hide in the fresher for too long, why don’t you fill me in on the dance floor?”
Anakin smiled and put his mask back on before looping an arm through Obi-Wan’s. “I’ll follow your lead, Master.”
On the dance floor, Obi-Wan drew Anakin close and guided him into a simple dance step. Anakin followed his lead easily. They spun around the floor and Anakin pointed out the Zyerrian he’d followed across two systems, and told Obi-Wan what he’d learned about the trafficking operation. They had some time until the handoff, and Obi-Wan decided to keep them on the dance floor and wait for the mark to leave before they followed.
Tipping his face down, Anakin whispered into Obi-Wan’s ear. “What do you say after we kick some slaver ass and free some force sensitives, you give me a ride on your ship after?” He let one of his hands slide down Obi-Wan’s chest, making his intentions clear.
Obi-Wan pulled back slightly to get a better look at Anakin. “Surely they teach shadows how to flirt better than that?”
Anakin shrugged. “It’s working, isn’t it?”
“Force help me, it is. Though you could have gotten what you wanted without opening your mouth.” Anakin smirked at him and started to say something. “Don’t say anything,” Obi-Wan said exasperatedly.
Anakin wiggled his eyebrows and pulled Obi-Wan off the floor. “Come on,” he said excitedly, “it’s go time. We can talk about what to do with my mouth after we take care of this.”

Alliance Commander Ask Game
THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN I FOUND THIS IN MY DRAFTS. I was tagged a very long time ago by @sullustangin to do this and I completely forgot
1) Who’s your Alliance Commander? What class are they? Alignment? Random other facts you wanna share?
Tumblr media
My Jedi Knight is my canonical Commander for my legacy. Her name is Minerva and she’s been through a lot of changes since I started playing her in 2018. She is a Guardian tank with a Shadow secondary class. She’s trapped at Light 5 because of how the old alignment system worked, but I headcanon she’s closer to Light Three. She has one of the most detailed backstories I've ever made for a character and I'm so proud of her :') She's like my child lol
2) What’s a reason or two you like that this character is your Commander? Minerva is not and never wanted to be a leader in any way and I live for that kind of inner conflict. Plus the expansions feel very natural with the Knight as the Commander imo.
3) What’s a reason or two you don’t like about them being Commander? I can’t think of anything other than I wish the writers would let her get some rest. Give me a cutscene where she's just enjoying being with her friends and boyfriend pls
4) Why did this character of all your OCs become Commander? Like I said earlier, it felt natural for Minerva to continue her fight against Vitiate and she was also the first character I got to endgame before Onslaught came out so she's just fixed as the Commander in my mind.
5) Who did they side with? Did they stay loyal or go saboteur? Or maybe you headcanon they defect properly? Minerva decided to side with the Republic, but she kept the Alliance separate and declined the offer to become a member of the Order again. She believes in the Republic but she hasn’t been a Jedi for a long time – even before she was put in the carbonite. And it would be incredibly inappropriate given a new “attachment” in her life.
6) Are there any NPC’s from the class stories you’d like to see/HC join the Alliance? Ex: Master Timmns, Ardun Kothe, Watcher One, etc. Lord. PRAVEN. In my hc, he was on Ossus during kotfe/kotet and joins the Alliance after Onslaught. He's Minerva's bestie and the writers can't take this away from me.
7) How’s your OC feeling about the current Malgus situation? She's over it, honestly. She is so tired of people coming back from the dead.
8) Are any of your other OC’s part of the Alliance? If yes what do they do for the Alliance? Do they get along with your Commander?
Tumblr media
My Chiss trooper, Jame Harper, is Minerva's cousin but they're closer to sisters. Harper had given up hope she was still alive and attacked Zakuul to avenge her. Once she joins the Alliance, Harper is responsible for training new recruits and strategizing for the big battles.
Tumblr media
After the incident on Dromund Kaas, Acina sent her Wrath to Odessen to show the Empire’s support. Tegan and Minerva’s old rivalry picked up right where it left off but now that they're on the same side, they actually start to respect each other. They become frenemies but it doesn't last long.
Tumblr media
Freya and her Clan join Torian on Odessen and are responsible for keeping the peace between Imperial and Republic personnel. Freya knows Minerva doesn't have much family so she takes on an almost motherly role, fussing over her and making sure she takes care of herself.
Tumblr media
My Smuggler, Lyall, is Minerva's eyes and ears in the Outer Rim. He's a friend to the Alliance, not an actual member, but he appreciates what they're trying to do. He and Minerva share a history so it's no big deal for him to help out on the occasional mission.
9) How does your OC feel about Odessen? (Bonus: how do you feel about it) Despite all the craziness around her, Minerva feels at peace on Odessen - something she's not felt in a long time. She loves the wild forests and the endless lakes and rivers. It feels like home. She's never felt that way about anywhere before, not even the Jedi Order. I personally love Odessen. I wish there was a stronghold on Odessen so I could decorate it to Minerva's tastes.
10) How does your Commander feel about being the Commander? To say Minerva has a complicated relationship with it would be an understatement. Some days, it's great. She's doing more for the galaxy than she ever could as a Jedi. But sometimes she realizes just how many lives will be effected by her decisions and she feels trapped. She doesn’t feel anyone should ever have so much power. But she's lucky to have such a strong support system behind her and they make it bearable.
11) Favorite place in the Alliance base? Minerva's favorite is the little pool at the base of the statue in the Force Enclave. She meditates for hours in the sunlight coming in through the crack in the ceiling. As for mine, it has to be the war room. I love seeing my companions just vibing with each other.
12) Favorite mission in KotFE? Definitely visiting the old world on Zakuul with Senya. I wish we got to see more of it or at least get a Zakuulan stronghold but I doubt the story will ever bring us back to Zakuul :(
13) Favorite mission in KotET? The palace mission, just because it's where we get Arcann lmao
14) Least favorite mission in either? Why? The walker missions are brutal. Except for the one on Iokath. That one is so much fun lol
15) Is your Commander successful because they’re skilled? Or are they perhaps just really lucky? Minerva has worked hard to hone her body and mind into a weapon, but she also believes the Force is on her side as long as she listens to it. To her, luck doesn't exist.
16) From our OC’s point of view, SoR -> KotET wasn’t a fun experience, did they develop any fears as a result? A lot of her fears were realized. She was abandoned by the people she trusted and the Jedi Order, the only constant in her life, was practically wiped out. Valkorion was once again in her head and the fear of him taking over at any given moment made her distance herself from the people around her in order to protect them. It was the loneliest period of her life.
She also has a fear of public speaking so she hates it when she has to give speeches to encourage people.
17) AU time! If your Commander wasn’t Commander, which of your other OCs would have likely taken their place? Harper has a habit of falling into positions of leadership despite her loner attitude. I can see her somehow accidentally becoming Commander in Minerva's place because no one else stepped up.
18) Who’s someone your Commander hopes they never have to deal with again?
Tumblr media
19) Does your Commander hold on to/still use any titles they earned before KotET? Minerva's begun to let go of her old life but she doesn't mind being called "Master" or "Battlemaster" by other Jedi. She earned those titles so it's a sign of respect for her.
20) Share something, anything at all, you want about your Commander that you’ve not really gotten the chance to share before but really want to. Minerva loves trashy entertainment. Holovids, shows, books - it doesn't matter, she loves it all. It's antithesis to everything she was used to growing up that she found it so compelling. She's also a sucker for those romance books you see in line at the grocery store.

4 and 13.
4. Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
I have literally a whole space station of clone OCs who were experimented on by the Empire until they eventually rose up and took the station back, and have been living there ever since. The station is called Xanthosis and the most notable characters are - Dreamer (philosopher clone whose bizarre behavior hides a brilliant strategic mind) - Shadow (an extremely skilled warrior who was trained to bodyguard his commander and remains fanatically loyal to him long after his death. Fell in love with a Mandalorian warrior who nearly killed him and is surprisingly poetic and romantic when he wants to be) - Needle (named for his skill at needling other people. Is missing his shadow and tells a different story every time you ask. Also models for art class) - Cicilia (did three impossible tasks to woo a goddess and is father to her children), - Brig (clone who was known for his rebellious and strong thinking, which led to....) - Dyssebeia (a nightsister spirit who was killed and imprisoned for her own rebelliousness. The orb later found its way to Xanthosis, where it was found by Brig. He and Beia have worked out a deal and now share a body.) - Joshua (identical twin to a Jedi, honorary father to many of the station's children, his wife's hands) - Coatl (Joshua's wife, is a giant snake, lazy and scarred, her husband's voice) - The Iskresh as a whole (people who were part of "interrogation research", violently tortured their torturers for two weeks, and have now sworn off all violence)
I also claim Tarre Vizsla as an honorary OC because in canon he's a complete blank slate. Mine is grumpy, old, very exhausted with the Mandalorian ways, absolutely determined, and a big fan of the "boring but practical" ways of ruling like logistics supplies and standardizing units of measure. That said, he does have a soft spot for children, including teenagers, and warriors who are honorable on their own merit and not just as a performance for others or for self-gain. Also he's narcoleptic, heavily scarred, has a pet feathered snake called Vonda who acts as his service animal, and nonbinary.
13. Rate your worldbuilding skills from 1 to 10.
Ummmmm......7. I really, really like building worlds, it's my favorite part of writing, and I think I'm pretty good at that but I don't think them all the way through.

What Keeps Me in the Light? - Rexwalker Week!!
For day 3 of Rexwalker Week: @rexwalkerweek
Prompt: Coursant - Guardians of Light
HEYO!! This is my first ever Prompt week post!! I'm super excited about being able to do this and I hope you all enjoy not just my work but all the works of everyone who is participating in the event!!
But who guards the guardians though?
What protects us, master?
The questions he had been asked by his young but inquisitive padawan after he had said that the Jedi had been the guardians of light and the force had been running around his mind since they had been posed a few days again.
He stands, looking out over the Coruscant skyline, watching as the ships and speeds go about the skies. The sun is setting, allowing the shadows to stretch and consume the city. It's a sight that normally relaxes him. Filling him with a kind of serenity and allowing him to go into some light form of meditation. Right now though it just frustrates him.
He didn't have an answer at the time and now it is bothering him to no end.
Who or what protects us,? Who makes sure we are alright? Normally, we watch ourselves but..that can't be all…can it? The Jedi must have someone else who is looking out for us, making sure we are okay. With so much darkness that surrounds us sometimes, what keeps us from falling from the light? What protection is there for someone like me?
He is so lost in his thoughts he doesn't hear the door open.
“Anakin?” a voice gentle asks, startling him out of his thoughts. He turns to see Rex standing just in the doorway the sun making his skin glow with an otherworldly light, his eyes shining pools of golden brown. He looks glorious and surreal. He’s breathtaking.
“Anakin?” Rex asks again, worry coloring his voice.
He shakes his head clear and smiles at him.
“Hey sorry, Rex. I didn't hear you come in.”
“Is everything alright?”
“Yea, yea everything is fine. I was just lost in thought, that's all”
 "Alright, if you say so…but maybe you should try to meditate? I know it's not your strongest point but it has been a while."
“Yea, I should probably do that.”  he sighs, running a hand through his hair.
Rex nods and walks toward the kitchen. He watches him go then looks back out. His mind goes back to the question. His mind eventually went to himself. Yes, while he did protect the light he knew that he was nothing but darkness at his core. One only survives as a slave by taking on aspects of the darkness. Yes, he protects the light but had been so close to falling. So close that he was sure he would have fallen if the former chancellor's plan had come to fruition. He shivers at the thought of what could have been. He thinks back to the questions and realizes that they bother him so much because he can't think of a single thing that might have stopped him from falling. He was supposed to take care of the light, fight for good, justice, and those who can't fight for themselves but what could possibly stop him from succumbing to the very darkness they were supposed to fight?
Sighing again he decided to take Rex’s advice and goes to his meditation corner. Closing his eyes and opens himself up to the force. A galaxy of lights, stars, and bubbles comes to him. Each is different and unique. He travels along the paths that lead to his master, his padawan, his lover, various friends, and found family before landing on himself. Going deeper inside his own mind he sees the pain of losing his mother. The rage of slaughtering those who did it. The unworthiness of training under obi wan. The fear of losing his padawan. Hatred of the republic and the separatist alike for the war. Worry about not being a good enough general, friend, master, lover… His mind is spiraling. He can't breathe, can't think. The questions drive him further and further into the abyss. A dark so all-consuming that…
Sir, I’m here. a gentle familiar voice calls out to him in the dark.
A small blue light shines, breaking the absolute black around him. He goes toward it, drawn toward it for reasons he can't fully understand. The light is cool to the touch. Slipping over his fingers like the cool water of the pool he first swam in at the temple. He feels love, understanding, and a calm sturdy presence that he knows well wraps around his fingers.
Rex?
Yes, sir, I’m here Rex's presence shines brightly in recognition.
Rex, I'm so lost, so afraid, so…so alone.
He brings Rex’s light to his chest. Holding it close to his heart like a lifeline. The cool warmth of his light seeps into him. Allowing a small opening to his mind to appear. With it, all the good memories and emotions come rushing back to him. The first time Asoka had first completed her flight simulator and how proud he was of her. When his master congratulated him on being knighted. The life day party his men had somehow thrown for him in the middle of a campaign. The happiness and awe of the younglings after he had successfully shown them all of the katas without stopping. The warm smile of his mother after building his first project. Celebrating the end of the war with his men. It all leads back to Rex, back to the first kiss he and Rex shared when there was finally nothing to stop their feelings. Back to when they confessed their feelings for each other, back to the warmth, back to the safety, back to the light.
Anakin opens his eyes and looks up to see Rex move about the apartment. Watches as his royal blue light goes about his day. Lets his presence wash over him as his first warm summer rain. A balm that soothes his soul and pushes the darkness in his own heart away. He embraces his love's light, his warmth, and understanding. The answer, he finds is more straightforward than he thought. It is love itself that protects them. The love of others, the bonds, friendships, and relationships formed and maintained in one's life. It is the people who touch you, the places that inspire you, and the works and creations of beings past and present that encourage you to go forward. They wrap around you like a blanket, shield you through the storms of life,
This is what they fight for and this is what protects them.
Love.
And it’s his love for Rex that saved him from falling into the dark. When all the felt lost it was their love that managed to find him, giving him something to hold on to as the storms of his pain and regrets battered at him. He smiles as he watches Rex set the table for dinner. Feeling his master and padawan heading this way to join them. The galaxy still swirls around him as he pulls himself back. Standing up he stretches, kisses Rex and the cheek, and helps him with dinner. Rex looks over at him as he helps set up the table.
“Is everything alright, Anakin?”
“Yea, Rex everything is fine. I just needed to meditate as you said. “
“Knew it.”
Anakin laughs giving Rex a kiss as the door chimes.

I've never watched the Star Wars sequel trilogy but I heard people hated it so here are a few things I would've changed to make the movies more sellable.
The Stormtrooper guy (Finn, I think???) is not a Jedi in canon. Here, he's still not a Jedi technically. However, he keeps a lightsaber. Instead, he acts like some kind of non-Force Jedi for two movies (also the main protagonist) until bam! He has Force powers in the third. Weak Force powers, but Force powers still.
Rey is still Palpatine's daughter (I only found out via memes) but it's revealed in the first movie. The second movie would have people not trust her due to her lineage and she struggles with her identity. She eventually accepts that she's got evil blood in her but that she can be good regardless.
Kylo Ren's backstory: He was part of Luke's students from a young age. However, he was tempted by the Dark side and slowly corrupted while under Luke's tutelage. His betrayal ended with him murdering one of Luke's students and running away.
Luke is still the hermit guy but his reason is now more enforced. He felt that he failed Kylo so he left, depressed and everything. Rey, while still struggling with the fact that she's the grandbaby of the devil, empathizes with him. And helps him get his confidence back.
The rest of Luke's students end up being Jedi! But they kinda had to finish their studies without Luke to teach them. One of the students-now-Jedi (idk how SW names work so I'm calling him Rook Ma-Tau) is searching for Kylo Ren to avenge the death of his fellow.
Rook dies when he fights Kylo. The reason being is that he didn't have the heart in him to kill Kylo because he still cared for him like a brother. Rook helped train Finn a bit and in turn, Finn takes his lightsaber after giving Luke's old one to Rey.
Idc about the handsome pilot guy so yeah.
Luke is also dead this entire time! The reason Luke couldn't continue teaching was not only because of depression but because he was dead. He's just a Force ghost now and refuses to move on until Kylo is redeemed.
The cute Asian girl (idk her name) is still Finn's love interest. She's a mechanic and came from a large aristocratic family with many siblings. She left because she didn't want to stay in their shadow and also because her family has ties to the bad guys. Finn and Rey team up to save her when her family kidnaps her. They also topple the family while we're at it, which helps the good guys.
Idk anything about the rest of the movies so yeeeeeah...

Prompt: First Time Pairing: Ahsoka and Fives and Echo
The newest members of the 501st seemed younger than the others to her. She knew that the latest law meant that clones were being sent to the front younger than they were before, but Fives and Echo made her really see it. Rex was having to make them run sims that all the other members of the 501st had already mastered. She saw them after the first time they ran it talking about how it was much harder than the sims they were trained with. Ahsoka couldn't believe that. Were they really send them to the front without the training they were given before? Why? Less training meant they would die easier. She couldn't understand the reasoning.
The next time they had shore leave she sought them out. She was sure they hadn't been to the planet before, and she wanted to be the one to show them around. She might not know all the places the men went to hang out, but the Padawans had places they went. The first stop would be Dex's. She found them in the barracks.
"Fives, Echo, are you two busy?" She asked running over to them. The two looked at each other then back to her.
"Not really, Commander." Fives said with a shrug. Echo lend against the bed they were standing next to watching her.
"Perfect! I was hoping you would let me show you around. I know it's your first time on planet, and I know this great place to get lunch." She explained with a smile. They looked at each other again and shrugged. Echo push off the bed to stand next to her.
"Sounds good, sir." He said Fives nodding as he did. The two seemed to talk to each other without words. She wondered if it was because of how long they had known each other.
She happily lead the way to Dex's pointed out things as they walked. The best shop to buy paints at. A shop that shop weapon items that could be used to change their blasters. Even if the handbook said they weren't allowed to do that she knew many members of the 501st did anyway. A little shop that sold cheap clothes if they wanted something to wear other than their blacks. The two clones nodded as they followed her, and she was sure Echo would remember everything she pointed out for them. She made sure to avoid the parts of town that weren't clone friendly, and even showed them shops that would sell to clones that she was banned from. Plenty of places didn't welcome the Jedi, and she understood how important it was to know where you were welcomed.
When they reached Dex's place she hugged each other workers before they were shown to their seat. The host patted her on the head like they did the very first time she came with her Creche. They smiled at Echo and Fives welcoming them just as warmly as they did her.
"Did the 501st get now troopers? I don't think I've seen their armor." The host said as they handed them each a menu. Ahsoka smiled happily.
"Yeah we did. This is Echo," she pointed at him then Fives, "and Fives. I'm showing them around. Its their first shore leave since they joined us."
"I see. Well I'll let you boys look over the menu." They smiled at the two clones. "Ahsoka are you getting to same thing you always do?"
"Yes please!" Ahsoka answered. The host laughed patting her head again, and leaving to give them a moment.
"You seem to know everyone here, Commander." Fives said opening up the menu. Echo was reading over it too.
"I do. Dex, the owner, is a good friend with a lot of the Jedi, so every Jedi comes here. The foods good and the workers are really nice. Sometimes the Creche Masters even bring their younglings here to eat."
"Really?" Echo asked looking up at her.
"Yeah. I hear some Shadow's even come here for information." Ahsoka nodded rest her chin on her hand. One of her Creche mates was training to be a Shadow, and she caught him here buying information once.
"A Shadow?" Fives asked.
"It's a job Jedi can choose to do. Their kind of like spies. Did you two choose something to eat?" She tilted her head watching them.
"I've not heard of most of this stuff before. What do you think we should try." Echo said lying the menu down on the table. Ahsoka nodded pointing at one of the menu items.
"That's what Rex always orders, so you might like it." She said. The two of them looked at the item and nodded.
"Yeah we'll get that." They said at the same time. Nodding Ahsoka waved at the host who had been watching them from the counter. They walked over with a sweet smile.
"Did you boys make up your mind?" They asked. The two clones nodded and both pointed at the meal Ahsoka showed them.
"We would both like this please." They spoke together, and the host nodded.
"That one really good. I'll get that put in for you."
"Oh can you get them some soda. I think they would really like it." Ahsoka asked.
"Comin' right up!" The host said walking away.
The boy's talked while they waited, and Ahsoka looked around for Dex. Normally he would have stopped to say hey to her already, but Ahsoka hadn't seen him yet. She hoped he was okay. While he had a lot of friends in the Jedi order he also he enemies in a lot of places. His job of selling information often put a target on his back, and Ahsoka was worried that with the war going on he had gotten in over his head. As if hearing her thoughts he stepped out of the backroom.
"Ahsoka!" He called when he saw her. Ahsoka jumped up running over to hug him. Echo and Fives watched her with small smiles. Their young Commander seemed happy to see a friend, and after the stories their brothers shared with them they knew they should get a holo for the 501st. Fives took the holo sending it out to the group chat they had been added too when they joined.
The chat blow up with brothers cooing over their cute Jedi. Some said they were lucky to be making a trip to Dex's with Ahsoka. The Padawan took each shiny to the diner whenever she got the chance. Their brothers said it was her way of welcoming them to the 501st. They were also warned not to ask to go clothes shopping with her. She never said yes.
The two looked at each other. Her way of welcoming them huh. They shared a look before leaning back into their chairs. Their Commander stayed and talked with the man she ran up too until their food was brought over. She walked over with the host sitting back down.
The food was amazing and the fizzy drink Ahsoka ordered for them was wonderful. They ate, talked, and when they were finished Ahsoka paid and walked them back to the barrack's. All in all they had a great day.

BATTALION BREAKDOWN
Alright y'all, here it is, my breakdown of what I think a GAR battalion SHOULD look like. Full disclaimer before we get into it: I tried to research this stuff on wookiepedia as best I could but 1. there wasn't a ton of information out there on some of the things I had questions about and 2. some of it just makes No Sense when you put it together, so a lot of these numbers were made up by me and what I thought made sense based on what we see in the show and just simple logic. Feel free to accept/ignore parts as you please! Also, I'm gonna try to explain the rationale behind certain things as I go along but if you have any questions about this, you can send an ask/reply/reblog this post with your question and I'll do my best to answer it :)
Now that all that's out of the way, here's all the actual info beneath the cut.
Basic Organization
Tumblr media
Essentially, the GAR breaks down into four tiers at this level: battalions, companies, platoons, and squads.
Battalions are the largest groups with 576* members and are all numbered, such as the 501st, 212th, 104th, etc. The only exceptions to the numbering convention are the Rancor Battalion that guards Kamino and the Coruscant Guard. Personally I believe that both of these should be double, if not triple, the size of a regular battalion, which could potentially explain the difference in names. Battalions are led by a clone commander and Jedi general + a padawan commander if the Jedi has one. 4 companies make a battalion.
Companies consist of 144 members and are all named. Using the 501st for example, this would be Torrent, Tide, Wave, and Typhoon. Note: Torrent, Tide, and Wave are canon/widely accepted fanon, but Typhoon is something me and my friends came up with. You're welcome to use the name as the fourth 501st company in your wips if you want! The names don't have to be related, but my guess would be that they often are. Companies are led by a captain.** 4 platoons make a company.
Platoons consist of 36 members and are simply referred to as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th platoon under their company. Platoons are led by a Lieutenant. 4 squads make a platoon.
Squads consist of 9 members and are named. I don't have names for any 501st squads unfortunately, which is why those spaces are left blank in the picture. As a content creator, you'd have a LOT of freedom when it comes to these because there's so many within a battalion and it seems like they can be named just about anything. Squads are led by a sergeant.
*Numbers for this and subsequent numbers in this section were taken directly from wookiepedia
**One problem people tend to have with this is that Rex is a captain, and yet he seems to be in command of all of the 501st. I think most people have figured this out already but the clone wars writers really just threw names around willy-nilly when it came to all the military stuff. Rex should by all intents and purposes be a commander, and my personal in-universe explanation for this is that while he was skilled enough to go through ARC/command track training, he wasn't originally meant to be a commander and his CT number is what barred him from the title initially. Keeli would be another example of this.
A few comparisons just to illustrate it a bit better:
1 battalion = 4 companies = 16 platoons = 64 squads = 576 members
1 company = 4 platoons = 16 squads = 144 members
1 platoon = 4 squads = 36 members
1 squad = 9 members
Please note that these numbers do not include the officers. There would be 64 sergeants, 16 lieutenants, 4 captains, and a commander added to this number to make a total of 661 clones in any given battalion.
Now I could have just stopped here but I have a tendency to want to get way too specific in my wips so I went a little further:
Internal Battalion Assignments
To make the numbers a bit easier, this just looks at what would be found in one company, you can do the extra math if you want to know the full battalion numbers.
I tried my best to remember what kind of specialized troops showed up in the show since wookiepedia wasn't much help, and I ended up breaking these assignments down into medics, heavy gunners, ARF and tank operators, scouts, tech specialists, and standard infantry.
Medics total 16* within a company, one for each squad. Within the medical corps, they're further broken down into junior medical officers (JMO), medical officers (MO), senior medical officers (SMO), and the chief medical officer of the battalion (CMO). Any internal promotions would probably come from the CMO, maybe a SMO on occasion. When pertaining to medical issues, they do often outrank any other officer, but in combat, JMOs and MOs only hold the rank of private (underneath sergeant) and SMOs and the CMO hold the rank of major (between sergeant and lieutenant).
Heavy gunners total 16 within a company, again one for each squad. These are the clones who have been trained to use the Z-6 rotary blaster, like Hardcase and Hevy.
ARFs and other tank operators total one platoons-worth spread throughout a company, or 36 members. ARF troopers are the ones who drive the AT-RTs (the really bouncy walkers you can see used on Ryloth and Umbara) and other tank operators encompass, well, the operators of all the other ground vehicles we see used. The ratio of each of these seems like it could be fluid based on the needs of the battalion and their mission, so I didn't go too much further into this.
Scouts total two squads-worth spread throughout a company, or 16 members. To me it makes sense that one of the lieutenants within their company would specifically deal with their recon reports, simply because it's more organized and practical.
Tech specialists total one squads-worth spread throughout a company, or 9 members. Honestly this is where I grouped anything else left over, like the bomb squad members we see in the blue shadow virus episode, any slicers, etc.
Standard infantry totals the remaining 49 members in a battalion. They're strictly the fighting force on the ground. This doesn't mean that they're the only ones who do the actual fighting, just that they aren't specifically trained for any other specialization.
*These numbers and the subsequent numbers in this section were not taken from any canon source. They were calculated simply by what I thought would make sense to have.
LAAT/is and Starfighters
Again, I tend to be way too specific in my wips so not only did I go through all of the ground fighting force, but I started figuring out the some of the space forces attached to a battalion as well. This doesn't go into a ton about the Republic Navy because frankly, as soon as I read "7400 crew members on a star destroyer" I exited out of that tab cause that's a little Too Much to try to figure out, but I will cover how I think the gunships and fighter squadrons should work.
Tumblr media
LAAT/is (gunships) total 48 per battalion, or 12 per company. However, two per company are usually held in reserve to make sure there's always something available for easy transport to/from the ground. This brings down the number to 40 per battalion, or 10 per company. Gunships take two people to man, so the total number of those pilots for a battalion is 96, or 24 for a company. There's also room for two gunners, which would bring the battalion total to 192, but from what I remember in the show the side guns rarely have someone in them, so I don't think the full 96 LAAT/i gunner positions would be filled. I also think the LAAT/i gunners could be temporarily reassigned from the main star destroyer crew (because 7400 is a LOT, they can spare 96). Wookiepedia said that the gunships could hold 30 troops for transport, but that seems like it'd be really cramped quarters. My guess is that each one would hold somewhere between 14-17 comfortably depending on how many people need transport and how many gunships are in use, which is what I kept in mind to come up with the original number of 48 for a battalion.
The Starfighter Corps consist of 5 separate squadrons, the standard* being two squadrons of Y-wings, one squadron of V-19 Torrents, one squadron of Z-95 Headhunters, and one squadron of ARC-170s. There are 12 in a squadron, plus a squad leader and two usually in reserve, so that's 15 total ships in a squadron and 75 total ships overall. Y-wings require a pilot and a gunner, so the total number of members in a battalion's starfighter corps equals 105. However, I believe some battalions could have up to double** these numbers if they're frequently in space battles, like Anakin and the 501st, or if they have a name that suggests it, like the 327th Star Corps. Squadrons seem to often be named after colors, but that isn't always the case, ie. Shadow Squadron.
*This standard isn't canon, it's just what I believe makes sense based on the number of ships types available and how frequently they are seen used in the show. The Y-wing bombers seem to be used a bit more than the rest, which is why I think there would be two squadrons of them.
**While double the number of ships is certainly possible, I figure it's more common to have three more squadrons instead of the full five so there would be two squadrons of each type of ship.
~~~
That's all I got! Like I said earlier, use whatever you like, ignore the parts you don't, it doesn't really matter to me. This system is definitely what I'm going to follow in my wips if anyone is ever curious about what's going on with those.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone out there! And if you made it this far, thanks for reading! :)
Star-Crossed: Bound by Blood
Chapter One
Master List
Pairing: Mando/Din Djarin x OFC Baast’Mal
Warnings: I'm making this up as a go, Canon divergent from the series during chapter 13, mild violence
A/N: I make this stuff up as I go along, if I screw something Star Wars-y up, apologies in advance, I didn't do it on purpose, but I'm new to this Fandom. I will be cross posting this story between AO3 and Tumblr except the smutty bits. Those chapters will only be available to registered users on AO3. (I'm trying something new for people who want to read here on Tumblr, but to also avoid the smut for minors controversy. We'll see how it goes.)
*I do not have a tag list* Please follow the story on AO3 if you want email updates, or follow @tilltheendwilliwrite-library where I post the new/latest chapters of all my stories.
***
In the sweltering heat of the jungle, Din Djarin crouched to better scan for tracks in the rotting foliage at the base of the tall trees. Pools of light made it difficult to adjust correctly for the shadowy depths; add in the thermal activity of the plants and animals in this stinking sewer of a planet, and he was having a hard time tracking his quarry.
When he'd accepted the puck, he hadn't known what he was getting into as her chain code was surprisingly sparse. The only additional information he had was her name - Taa Marel - her last known location and face.
And what a face. Even on a holo, she was stunning, not that the Mandalorian would let that sway him one way or the other.
He'd tracked the stolen ship from Bogano, where she'd initially been hiding out to this skug hole of a world that was made to torment men in beskar, causing them to swelter in their helmet.
The kid, however, loved the place.
Constantly cooing, riding in his pouch, he touched everything he could get his chubby green fingers on. Leaves, flowers, bugs; those, of course, went straight in his mouth. By this point, Mando accepted the womp rat could and would eat just about anything.
Upon arrival, they'd found the ship nose down, destroyed, and abandoned, but the crash landing had created just enough space for Mando to set the Razor Crest down. Then the hunt began.
After three hours of slogging through the heat, he was ready to kill her. After four, he decided death was too good for someone who made him sweat this hard. After five, he was determined to make her suffer. But they were closing in. He could feel it like an ache in his bones.
Tracks led forward, but something didn't sit right with that. They were too obvious. After hours of following such a well-covered trail, this was an insult to his skills. Footprints led straight down a game trail like a beacon meant to lure him astray.
It wasn't right, too easy by far, and the skin on his nape crawled.
He looked up, straight into the eyes of the woman he was hunting. Even through the distorted colour of heat vision, he could see they were a vibrant green.
He moved on instinct, whipcord shooting out, wrapping around her shoulders, and dragging her out of the tree.
She screamed the battle cry of a hunting cat, an inhuman sound before she twisted mid-air and landed lightly, crouched but on her feet.
"Taa Marel, I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold," he warned her, hand hovering over his blaster.
"That is not my name. And I choose option three."
Her voice kicked him in the groin and made his dick twitch. Stunned, he could only watch as her hands came up and nails like talons shredded his whipcord.
Someone had left a few things out of her chain code.
"Put the child down."
Mando blinked. "Why would I do that?"
What did she want with his foundling? Had she heard about him? Would she attempt to take him?
"I intend to kick your ass, Mandalorian, but I do not hurt children. Put him down."
Surprised, Mando reached for the strap across his chest instead of his blaster. "You're not going to run?"
She lifted a proud chin. "You will continue to hunt me. I would rather die than return to that hell hole, but I will not go easy. I will fight."
She was beginning to impress him with more than just her face.
Din lifted the strap over his head, his eyes fixed on the target, studying her outside of the holo he'd memorized.
She stood with her chin raised, body slightly turned in a stance that bespoke proper training. If one could call it that, her green tunic had no sleeves, crossed over her breasts, tied just beneath them, and ended a few inches thereafter, baring the wealth of sun-darkened skin over tightly packed muscles. Pants hugged slim hips, billowed at her thighs, and tied tight to her calves thanks to the soft, short boots that went to her knee.
Sweat gave her a sheen that made her glow, her vibrant eyes shadowed behind thick, long lashes. Her face was a treasure trove of sculpted brows, sharp nose, and high cheekbones over lips that looked like ripe fruit, begging for teeth.
A mass of hair, the colour of sand, fell in heavy waves to her hips. It began to darken toward the tips until it was as black as the deepest corner of space.
As he moved the kid, she untied a thin cord from her wrist and slowly began to bind her hair in a low tail.
He'd never met a woman like her, a bounty like her, ever. This one - fugitive or not - had honour in her.
The kid cooed and waved. Her lips twitched into a smile as she winked and waved back.
"Fear not, Mandalorian. Should I kill you today, I will raise your foundling as my own."
Din's blood ran cold. "You won't get the chance."
He hung the child's satchel on a low tree knot and drew the beskar spear from his back in the same motion. Though he'd won the spear from magistrate Morgan Elsbeth on Corvus and helped the Jedi Ahsoka Tano defeat her forces, the Jedi held no answers when it came to the kid. Though, Din wondered if that had more to do with him than the little green monster. She'd told him to seek another Jedi, someone with more training than she, but had given him no direction in which to search.
"He is rather cute," she smirked. "But his kind age so slowly. You will be long dead before he is grown."
Mando paused. "You know of his kind?"
She arched a brow. "You do not?"
He lowered the spear and held up his off-hand. "I am tasked with returning him to his people."
Her posture never changed, but her eyes filled with sorrow. "He has no more people. The last of his kind, or what was thought to be the last, died some years ago. Master Yoda was his name."
"I'm to help him find the Jedi," Mando murmured.
Her eyes lost their sadness. "I cannot help you."
"Will not."
"They are one and the same," she whispered.
Lightning fast, she rushed him. Mando barely blocked the first swipe of her claws before the second clanged off his pauldron. He used the spear's shaft to knock her back, even as she kicked him in the ribs, bypassing the beskar.
"Do you know the life you condemn me to, Mandalorian, if you return me to that horrible place?" she asked, crouched once again, a few feet away.
"You're a bounty. I don't make deals," he stated, watching his quarry while keeping his body between her and the kid. His ribs smarted, but he'd had worse.
"No. You just work for the people who Purged your planet!" she spat, leaping and clawing.
She was fast, damn fast. Barely able to keep up, it was all Mando could do not to lose ground until he saw an opening and swept the butt of the spear at her leg.
She jumped back, breath coming hard.
"I didn't ask who the bounty was for." Greef Karga offered him the chance for a big payday, and right now, they could use it.
"You work for the Empire," she sneered. "Returning me to torture and experimentation. Do you think I was always like this!?" She stood and held out her arms, flexing fingers tipped in dark claws. She bared her teeth, revealing wicked-looking canines, then lifted a portion of hair to reveal a sharply pointed ear.
Again he paused, a thing unheard of, to ask, "What are you?" Her chain code said human, but she was certainly not that.
Her proud chin lifted in defiance. "Do you know what a Zentari is, Mandalorian?"
Din inhaled sharply. "That's not possible. They were wiped out."
"All but one. I am Baast'mal, last of the Zentari. The Empire took me as a child and used my gift to ruin me. They bound my blood to the Corellian Sand Panther and Manka Cat. They have so thoroughly defiled my biorhythms that if the constellations were kind enough to cross my path with that of my mate, I do not know if I could bond with him." Pain flickered across her features. "I am sullied, broken. I am a monster," she whispered before shaking herself free of the melancholia and raising that proud chin once more. "So kill me if you can, Mandalorian, for I will not go willingly."
The beskar spear fell from his fingers as Din dropped to a knee and bowed his head. "I am a Child of the Watch. I must offer aid, Zentari. This is the Way."
"The Way?" She took a step back. "The Mandalorians no longer follow the Old Ways. They no longer conceal their face from all but their riduur and ad. The creed is long dead."
He shook his head. "My Tribe is one of zealots. We hold to the old ways of Mandalore. I only recently learned of this as I was raised with them in hiding. The Purge took much, but the ways of the Zentari are remembered in the covert."
She hesitated, eyes wary. "I have faced Mandalorians before. They knew not the Way."
Din stripped his gloves from his hands and held them out, palms up as if catching water. He raised them above his head and brought them down over his helmet, appearing to another as if he washed with air. "Zentari of the Bright Star, may the constellations bless this warrior with a treasure greater than beskar that they would be mine. Cyar'ika. Ka'rta. Riduur."
She inhaled sharply. He watched her fight tears, lip trembling before she closed the distance between them and knelt. She dipped her fingers into his cupped palms as if they held water, brought them to her brow and stroked them down over her eyes and out along her cheeks.
Her hands shook as she lifted them toward his helmet and laid her palms lightly on the sides of the beskar.
His hands gently grasped her wrists, her skin warm and soft beneath his fingers. She wouldn't remove it, that he was sure of, but it was an instinct he couldn't deny when someone touched his helmet.
Her voice was whisper soft when she spoke. "Mandalorian, Holder of the Creed, blessed of the constellations. May you raise warriors strong in the Way and find your riduur. Your cyar'ika. Your ka'rta."
"This is the Way," he murmured, shaken by the encounter.
"This is the Way," she agreed as she drew him forward until his helmet lightly kissed her brow.
The shudder that raced through her raced through him with equal intensity. The Zentari race was a myth, a legend, a beautiful dream. They were so lost to time Din felt like his heart would burst with joy.
"Have you ever removed your helmet, Mando?" she asked softly.
The shortened form of address made his heart skip. "Not before any living thing." The Droid on Nevarro didn't count, and no matter what Bo'Katan said, the creed was his way. He would never show his face to any besides his wife or children.
Let Koska scoff as she liked at his traditions. She had not found a Zentari. She likely wouldn't know what to do with the Zentari if she did.
Din rocked back on his toes and pushed to his feet, surprised when she followed him with equal grace. "Zentari, we should return to my ship. The Alor will want to meet you. The covert will rejoice."
"Baast."
He froze as her hands landed lightly on his beskar covered chest. "What?"
"To you, I am Baast." She stared into his visor as if able to see his eyes.
"Baast," he murmured, wishing he could speak her name without the modulator.
"Yes, Din Djarin," she smiled.
He still held her wrists, and his hands became her shackles. "How do you know that name?" he demanded.
Long lashes swept her cheeks, a coy smile curling her lips. "Grogu told me."
His grip tightened more. "Who is Grogu?"
She tilted her head to look past him at the kid cooing at them. "He is Grogu."
"You can understand him?" Din asked, his shock registering even through the modulator.
"Not in words, but he speaks to those who can listen. Images. Impressions. The Force is strong in him," she smiled at Grogu. "He loves you."
"He's okay." Mando was grateful for the helmet that hid his foolish grin.
"You fool no one," Baast chuckled. She gently twisted her wrists, reminding him of her bondage.
He let her go and stepped back to pick up the spear.
"You are a man blessed of beskar," she murmured. "You must be a great hunter."
"Something like that," he murmured. It still shamed him how he'd acquired his armour, but if he hadn't turned in the kid - Grogu - he wouldn't have been as well-equipped to get him back and keep him safe as they ran from the Empire.
Baast headed for Grogu, her smile growing as she lifted down his carrier and situated the baby against her chest. Grogu giggled and babbled something Mando didn't understand.
"Oh, I see," Baast chuckled, casting a side-eye his direction.
"What?" Mando muttered.
"Clan of the Mudhorn. A clan of two." She flicked her claws over his sigil. "I wondered. Grogu explained."
Mando glared at the kid- Grogu. "Don't tell her all my secrets."
Grogu cooed. Baast cuddled him and smiled slyly. By that look, he was pretty sure it was too late for his secrets.
He turned to go, heading back the way he'd come. It would take hours to return to the Razor Crest, and it was already getting dark.
***
They didn't make it back to the ship before nightfall, but he found a hollow tree in which to spend the dark hours. Creeper vines had choked the life out of the behemoth, leaving them in a cage of vines and dry, dead bark with a wealth of firewood to choose from.
The fire burned brightly, drafting well, casting shadows across Baast's face and keeping the larger predators at bay. She slept curled around Grogu, lips gently parted. The air had finally cooled at sundown, but now he could see the shivers and goosebumps developing on her flesh.
Slowly, he leaned forward to remove the cape from his back. Then, just as quietly, he rose, rounded the fire, and draped it over her and Grogu. She stirred but didn't wake, and Din returned to his watch on the far side of the fire.
A Zentari. He could scarce believe it.
She was a myth made flesh—a beautiful dream. Once, when Mandalore still followed the old ways, Zentarus was where many warriors sought their mates, their most cherished riduur.
A Zentari was always fast and strong and incredibly rare. They grew quickly but aged slowly, their years stretching out into eternity, some said. Fine in face and form, when they met their match, they bonded, taking on traits of the other and giving a few as well.
A Mandalorian could live a very long time with a Zentari mate.
But most Mandalorians came home empty-handed as a bond with a Zentari could not be forced, but those who the stars smiled upon, those most blessed with a cherished mate, bonded in ways that grew legends. It was said their children were the most incredible of warriors.
Baast'mal was everything he imagined when told stories of Zentari as a child new to the Tribe. It didn't hurt that she was the most mesh'la female he'd ever seen. Fast. Strong. Deadly. He wondered at what the Empire had done to her, how they could force the blood bonds on Sand Panthers and Manka cats, and just what other mutations they'd caused.
He also wondered at her Force sensitivity. What she felt or even what she could do had not been discussed, but Mando knew there was more to her than he had yet discovered.
But it was the ache in him, the growing need to once again touch her skin that concerned him.
It was primal. Feral. It clawed at him. It had him itching to be closer - much closer - to her. He wanted to show her his face and hope she found him as pleasing as he did her.
Din had nothing to go by in comparison. He'd seen his reflection before, of course, but he had no way of knowing if a woman would think him handsome. He'd had encounters before, ones in which everyone walked away satisfied, some paid for, others freely offered, but the helmet and the beskar never came off.
With her, he wanted to be bare, stripped off all trappings. Din wanted to feel his naked skin against hers. He wanted to taste it.
"You are a very loud thinker," she mumbled, bright eyes glowing softly beyond the fire.
Mortification filled him. "I'm sorry, I-"
"I do not know your thoughts, Mando," she clarified, "just feel a gentle buzzing from the beskar. It restricts what I pick up from you."
Relief almost had him sagging. Baast closed her eyes, but he was loath to let the conversation end.
"How old are you?" She looked young, maybe twenty-five.
Her brow twitched, amusement in her smile. "It is rude to ask."
"I wondered how long the Empire had you," he explained.
Shadows darkened her eyes. "Forty years."
"But they've only been around for thirty," he frowned.
She gave a hollow laugh and sat up. "They have been around much, much longer. I remember the day they came for us. They slaughtered all who fought, men and women. Every child they could catch was rounded up and taken away." She looked away, down at dark claws. "I was the only Zentari to survive the experiments."
"I'm sorry." He was. "I know what it's like to lose everything."
She tilted her head. "You were a foundling."
It wasn't a question, and Din didn't answer her.
"They began experimenting with my blood almost immediately. I was ten when they bound traits of the Manka to me. I was fifteen when they brought in the Panther."
"How? Why?"
Her eyes burned into his. "Because they could." She flexed her fingers. "Because they are depraved. Because they are monsters, who turn others into abominations."
"You're not."
She looked at him in surprise.
Din shifted until he stood and made his way around to her side, where he offered his hand. Baast took it and joined him in the shadows as he led her a few steps away from Grogu. He stripped his gloves from his hands, the need to touch her no longer under his control.
Slowly, he reached up to caress her cheek. He pushed her hair back, revealing the pointed tip of her ear. Her eyes gleamed from behind heavy lids when he stroked his fingers down her tricep and finally cupped her elbow.
He closed his opposite hand around her nape; his thumb pressed to her spiking pulse. "You are no monster."
"My blood is sullied."
"Perhaps. But you remain unbroken," he murmured. "You lived. You escaped. Mesh'la, you are a beacon of shining hope to my Tribe. If there is one Zentari, perhaps there are others."
She closed her eyes. "There is not."
"How do you know?"
A tear trickled down her cheek. "I felt the last die three years ago. It was what gave me the strength to escape."
"Mishuk gotal'u meshuroke, pako kyore," he murmured, rubbing his thumb on her pulse.
"Pressure makes gems; ease makes decay?" A small smile twitched her lips. "Am I a gem, Mando?"
"No."
She arched an amused brow.
"You are something more precious than any gem," he murmured.
Colour dusted her cheeks. "A Mandalorian who has a way with words? I truly have seen it all," she teased.
He sighed and made sure it echoed through the modulator. "Get some rest." He attempted to move away, but she grabbed him by the belt.
"Stay."
"Baast?"
"Stay." She took his hand, led him closer to Grogu, encouraged him to sit against a fallen chunk of tree, and then curled up beside him, tucking herself under his arm.
"The beskar is too hard," he worried.
"No harder than a prison cell, and you are much warmer. I have not known the comfort of another since I was seven," she admitted.
He sighed again but gave in, curling his arm around her.
"Thank you for your cape."
"Hm."
Her chuckle was more of a low purr. When it rippled through him, Din swore he felt something inside him purr back.
My Mando (Din Djarin) /oc's backstory idea (includes alot of rexsoka shipping)
Warning!! : I can't spell for toffee and Tumblr deleted all of my proofreaders edits. Obviously she doesn't want to do it all over again so I've had to make do.
Tumblr media
(a clan of three by madmiriam (Me)
We all love the mandalorian, Din Djarin is so sexy as single dad and we all love him for it. But this makes it hard to write and engageing original character to go with this perfect specimen of a man, one that we can really connect with. Well I have a salutation, to connect with a character it helps if that character is also connected to a character/characters that you already know and love. So I give you my original character Jaig.
Look:
Like the picture above, originally I wasn't going to have Din and Grogu in it at first but I have a habit of making life difficult for myself, so your welcome.
Personality:
As an adult, she's calm and patient and has a sarcastic sense of humour.
As a child, she has a bubbly personality, a contagious smile, and an insatiable curiosity.
Strengths:
she finds it difficult to truly hate anyone, no matter what they've done, she proffers to look at the reasons behind the actions of others before jumping in for revenge, that's not to say she doesn't get angry at people, but her anger is not fuelled by hate. She has been fully trained in the use of weaponry, such as guns, granaids and other such, and has had a small amount of training with a lightsaber when she was younger. But afters a experiencing a tragedy at the age of 9 she hasn't touched one since, she proffers the us of DC hand guns. She is also a fairly good pilot and mechanic.
Weaknesses:
back when she was a child she had a hard time using the force when when overwhelmed. If the thoughts and feelings of others got to much, she would become force blind. When she grows older, (for certain reasons you will find out later on in. This story) she completely cuts herself off from the force. Unless her emotions get to much go handle, then the force would almost explodes out of her. She also doesn't do well when she's alown. Having grown up in various large family atmospheres. If she is not around people she cares about and loves, she will become closed off a dipressed.
Back story: (now bear with me, this storyline is set before she meets Din, its just an introduction to this character)
Jaig (due to her small Jaig eye like markings, and her father's personal connection to the simble) is the daughter of ex jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano and her mate/husband Captain Rex. She looks mostly human like her father, with the same amber eyes and his family's dark hair. But with the same facial structure of her mother, and a slightly darker and olive tinged skin tone. She also has distinct white making that were almost identical to her mother's. Except instead of diamond shapes on her forehead, she has jaig eye like markings. She was born 6 years after the clone wars ended, while her parents were on the run from the empire. Rex and Ahsoka had found it impossible to part from one another after the events of order 66, and after travelled from place to place avoiding the empire for a long time. Their feelings for one another grow, and they eventually married through the use of mandalorian marriage vows.
They built a home in the stars, and after a few years, to their great surprise and happiness they conserved and had Jaig. Things were finally looking up with the birth of their new found hope for the future.
Tumblr media
(Their new found hope for the future/baby Jaig by madmiriam (me)
But it was not to last. It was hard enough to hide themselves, a clone and a ex jedi from the empire. But now adding a force sensative baby to the mix as well, it made it damn near impossible for them all to stay together. Which; after a terrifying encounter with one of the Empires Inquisitors, forced them to make the difficult decision to part ways. Rex would head off insearch for a new home and hopefully find and de-chip as many brothers as he could. While ahsoka would keep traveling around the stars with Jaig. Avoiding the empire and its ruthless inquisitors, whilst trying to help Jaig build up her Shields. They both agreed to keep in touch and once Jaig's Shields were up and safely secure,(which for the average youngling would take 5 years or so) they would rejoin each other and dicided what to do next. But a year after their separation Rex's comms and messeges had stopped all together, and by the time Jaig had reached the age of five and had built up some suitable shields around her mind, neither she or her mother had herd from her father in over 4 years. Her mother was adament he was still alive, but as she grew older Jaig had a hard time believing her. For if he was alive why hadn't he come to find them? Why was he not answering her mothers messages that she still sent on a regular basis?
By the time she was 6 her mother was approached by Bail Organa, in regards to starting a rebellion, and that is what they spent the next 4 years working towards, staying in the shadows gradually building up a resistance to eventually overthrow the empire.
She and her mother met the ghost crew when she was 9 (the same age Anakin had been when he was found by qui gon) and after an uncomfortably close encounter with a mysterious Sith lord called Darth Vader, Jaig's mother disided it was time to bring her father into the fold, and sent Jaig of with the ghost crew to find Rex.
When meeting her father she had opted to wear a scarf to cover her face markings and, chose to withhold her name, and who she was until she found out more about the man who was her father. She was apprehensive about him. As she had no memorie of her dad, for she was only a baby when he left. The only thing she did have, was this warm comforting feeling that she felt whenever her mother spoke of him. A feeling of being held to a large ferm chest in two equally large and ferm muscular arms. Wrapped in a soft wool blanket. Her mother told her that this was the force making an imprint on one of the more emotional moments of her like. But all the same, she proffered to be cautious.
After spending some time with Rex and his bothers. She found her self really enjoying there company. Aspecially her father's. Who dispite having no idea who she was, had already shown that he had a clear paternal instinct. Particularly when teaching her and Ezra how to fish for "Big Bongo". However Kanan who clearly didn't trust Rex or his brothers had spent most of his time hovering around ether her or Ezra protectively, eventually telling them about his exspirence with order 66, an event her mother never talked about.
After seeing the heartbreak on her father's eyes at the memories he and Kanan spoke of. She desided it was time to tell him who she was. But that decision was cut short however when she overheard Rex telling Ezra that he wasn't going to come back with them. Even though he now knew her mother was alive (1 year after separating when the message's stopped he thought both his wife and child to be dead) Jaig ran of in tears when hearing this. She climbing down the ladder of the the AT-TE and walked ferther in front of the walking monstrosity. Away from everyone else. She had finally gotten used to the idea of her father coming back with them. Had become exited by it even. But now, the fact that he was refusing to come with them. Back to his home, his wife, to her. It hurt and overwhelmed her, more than she could say.
She didn't however see what happened after. When Sebine came out and acused Rex of selling them out, of contacting the empire and never answering Ahsoka's messages; at which point he finds out about how Wolfe had withheld all the messages from Ahsoka for 8 years. Thinking he was protecting his brothers from a potentially vengeful jedi. Rex was furious at Wolfe for hiding his own wife's messages to him, and coursing him to miss so much of his only child's life.
Rex: "we have a daughter Wolfe!!! My Jaig, my baby girl doesn't even know who I am because of you!!!"
Wolfe:(was shocked and full of regret when hearing this) "I.. I.. Didn't know... Rex I'm sorry, I didnt know"
Ezra:(recordnises the name) "wait Jaig? you meen our Jaig, Jaigs your daughter?"
Rex: "wait what?"
At this point they hear a shrill scream coming from down in front of the AT-TE. It was Jaig, she was being attact by the prob droid that had been sent by the empire.
The clones immediately go into action. Rex is handed a rifle and gets ready to shoot the prob as it backs his daughter into the ground. His ames and shoots true, killing the droid with one foul shot and then quickly dashes down to retrieve his daughter from under the sparking remains of the droid.
Jaig is in hysterics at this point. Having been taken by surprise by the droid along with the emotional turmoil of potentially losing her father all over again. She then resigned herself to just sit there and cry over how foolish she was for even seeing the attack coming. But now she was being held in the familiar strong arms of her father as he held his only child for the first time in over 8 years.
Rex: "I'm here sh shh, I'm here Ik'aad senaar (baby bird, a nickname he gave her as an infant) daddy's here, daddy's got you"
He says carefully stocking her familiar dark brown hair (that was now flowing free as her scarf had fallen loosely around her shoulders, revealing her beautiful face to her father who's eyes were now brimming with unshed tears) to calm her down as he picking her up and takes her back to the AT-TE. Where the others are waiting with bated breaths. Wolfe was holding a blanket out to wrap his shacking niece into and Gregor quickly dashing off to get her a hot chocolate hoping to make her feel better.
Jaig: "I was angry. Upset. You said you weren't coming home and, then everyone felt so angry and scared all at once. It was to much. (sighs) I have a hard time controling the force when I get overwhelmed like that. I couldn't even sence the prob. I'm. I'm sorry"
She exsplans after she sits down and has a few sips of the hot chocolate that had been placed in her hands. Accompanied a number of comforting back rubs from both her father and her uncles.
Wolfe apologies to her. Explains that he's the reason her father had been out of her life for so long. That he was just trying to protect his brothers but ended up hurting his other family because of it. And tells her he understands if she hates him.
Jaig: "your Wolfe aren't you? Uncle Wolfe? Mum (she has a slight clone like accent that they haven't noticed before) told me about you, said you worked with Grandpa Plo"
Wolfe: 😳"Grandpa Plo? 😂 Boy he would have loved to have herd you say that"
He said, both of them smile at each other, Jaig having forgiven her uncle for his laps in judgment.
All seemed well again until the empire calls them back to get the clones to hand over the rebels. The clones now fueled by the new found need to keep their new family out of harms way, tells the empire where they can stick it, and quickly try to usher the ghost crew along with Jaig into the phantom so they can escape While they all get ready to fight.
Jaig: "but I just found you, mum told me to bring you home, I can't leave you behind, da.. Please don't go"
She says clutching at his shirt as he huged her tight before holding her out to face him,
Rex:"no one's abandoning anyone. Jaig look at me (tilting her head to look. Into her eyes, eyes that matched her father's) we're soldiers Ik'aad senaar, this is what we were born to do, but this time we have something to fight for.. Its going to be OK, (presses his forehead against hers) I love you my Jaig eyes, I've loved you from the I first held you. Ha you were so tiny. I didn't want to let you go back then and I don't want to do it again now, but like last time it's something I have to do, to keep you safe, my Ik'aad senaar, (kissed her forhead lovingly) tell your mother I'm sorry I couldn't make it home, and... And I love her ok."
He says before sending her back into the phantom, closing the door behind her before she can stop him.
Things then pan out like it does in the show, the phantom goes back to help the clones take down the walkers and Rex then decides he's not gonna spend any more of time away from Ahsoka and Jaig and choses to return with them and join the rebellion.
The reauion between Rex and Ahsoka continues the same, but insted of just a hug Ahsoka goes in for the kiss (how it should have always been in my opinion).
They spend most of there time with the ghost crew, Ahsoka makes the Ghost her base to return to after missions, and Rex teaching combat and war strategies to both Ezra and Jaig, but mostly to Ezra, Jaig was; in his opinion still to young to get to deep into the oncoming war.
Rex:"let her be a kid for a little longer at least".
Jaig and Ezra had eventually become good friends, Jaig looking up to him as something of an older brother, following him every where he went like a little shadow. At first Ezra was annoyed, and try to get away from her at every turn. But after a while he found he quite like having someone look up to him for a change. As before her, he had been dubed the baby of the group with the most to learn. But now he had Jaig hanging on his evey word like it was gold. He found he enjoyed the new found responsibility.
Unfortunately with her shadowing Ezra so much. This meant she got into all kinds of trouble with him. Trouble that mostly involved them running down the corridor with an angry Zeb chasing after them. Zeb really didn't seem to like Jaig very much. Said it was like having two Ezras, and one was quite enough. However other trouble also included a short but terrible trip to malachor, where after being told she can't come along she choses to stow herself away on the phantom in the small rashon hold built into the floor, shielding her mind from her mother as they flow through space.
Ahsoka: (on a call to Rex) "well I definitely out rank you😉... 😟How Jaig doing?"
Rex: "welp she's not happy, she gone and hidden herself in one of thoughs little critter caves again, I'm making her favorite tonight so I know she'll show up by dinner time, but all the same😔..."
Ahsoka: "hay don't take it to heart Rex, you and I both know this is how she deals with being left behind for anything, she finds a small place to hide and sulk it out, just be ready with a plate of nuna and a hug and she bounces right back😄🙁 when she comes out tell her I love her, and I'll be home soon"
Rex: "I will🙂😟... May the force be with you" they hang up.
It's Ezra who ends up finding her, just after they land. Pointing her out to a stressed out Kanan and a very cross Ahsoka,
Ezra: "ummm guys, I think we have a stowaway",
Jaig: "before you get mad..... consider being proud of me, I stayed still for hours in there AND I shielded my mind the whole time, so you non of you even knew I was there"
Ahsoka: "DON'T push it young lady😠what were you thinking!! Your fathers gonna be worried sick!!!! 😤😔 welp since there's no turning back now, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can get you back home and thoroughly grounded for a year"
The rest again plays out the same, they find Maul, Maul blinds Kanan, they get the sith holocromb but lose Ahsoka in the fight with Vader, though after seeing Jaig who looks so much like the little snippy girl from his old life, the Anakin in Vader hasitates to kill ahsoka and her child, and insted trys to convince the unwavering togruta to join him with her daughter.
Vader:"the galaxy shall never be safe for her Ahsoka, join me and I can protect her from the emperor. Join me and we can over throw him... Together"
Ahsoka: "how can I trust anything you say. If you were truly Anakin then how can you protect my daughter when you can't even protect yourself"
Jaig: "MUM!!!! MUUUMMMM!!!"
Ahsoka looks at her daughter running to her as the walls of the sith temple come down,
Ahsoka :"I'm sorry Jaig"
She say quietly as she force pushes he child into Ezra outside the temple as it fall around her and Vader out of the site of her family.
When all is quiet and Vader emerges from the rubble, after failing to find his former apprentice, the Anakin in him vows that he will not fail her child, he will do everything in his power to insure his master never find her, even if he has to hide her away himself to do it.
When Kanan, Ezra and Jaig return to base, Rex is in hysterics asking around.
Rex:"have you seen Jaig? Has anyone seen my baby?, its been over two days.. I can't find her..!!."
Jaig:"DADDY!!! 😭"
Rex turns to see her running out of a newly landed phantom in tears. Now knowing exactly where she'd been he quickly runs to her and scoops her up in his arm clucking her close to his chest in relief that she was home.
Rex:"you.. Are going to be the death of me, hey sh shshsh hey, hey what's the tears? what happen? where's your..? ."
(a father's comfort, ruff drawing by madmiriam (me)
He couldn't finish the sentence as he looked around and sure two other people emerging from a now empty ship, neither one of them was his wife. Ezra looked him in the eyes and with out saying a word, he knew. He knew Ahsoka, his Ahsoka was gone. He closed his eyes, sheding one silent tear as he held his girl tighter, and slowly carried her away, away from the crowd, but not away from the heartache.
After the loss of her mother, Jaig's once bubblie personality had diminishes somewhat. She refuses to leave the side of eather her father or the members of the ghost crew. She goes on a few missions with them and liston to every word her father says about ways of fighting, fighting to protect herself and the people she loves. Before heading to a mission on geonosis he gives he one of his old DCs. (its twin had been lost in battle during the clone wars and he had gotten a replacement pear, but he had always kept his first well maintained in case he ever needed it)
Rex: "I know it's no lightsaber, but if will keep you and the others safe when used properly"
Jaig: "I don't want a lightsaber any more, 😔sabers get you killed"
Rex: " not all of them Ik'aad senaar" he sighs kissing her forehead "not all of them".
But even this would not last. When it came time for the empire to attack chopper base. Vader sends his own secret troops of undercover purge troopers to find and retrieve Jaig, and to also fake her death so both the empire and the rebels would not come looking for her. This of corse left Rex in his lowest point yet. After watching the ship he had put his daughter on to be evacuated blow up before it even left the ground. He found it hard to not simply drop all his defences and just calming walk into the flames after her. If it hadn't been for Zeb he probably would have. These kind of thoughts invaded his mind so frequently after that day, it was hard to remember when they didn't. He had lost both his wife and now his child. His hope and his reason for fighting were gone, and he wanted to go after them. But he couldn't. Not while there were still people to fight out there, the people who took everything for him and was still grabbing for more. People who his wife started this whole rebellion to fight against. No, he would keep fighting, as long as there is still even one imperial still left alive he would live and fight, until every last one of then were wiped out of existence. (that's gonna take a while)
Meanwhile Vader and Jaig finally meet properly face to mask. Jaig is having a hard time counselling her fear. But Vader was also having difficulty concealing his pain. Pain that had lingered since the moment he had emerged from that crumbled down sith temple, with no sign in the force or otherwise of his once padawan,. The last family he thought he had, that had not betrayed him, who had(once she had seen his face underneath his freshly cracked mask) said she wouldn't leave him, not again. But she had left him, not by her own design he knew, but she had left him all the same. And she had also left a child behind, a child like the one Padme would have given him if it weren't for both the sith and the jedi.
The jedi, who had forced his hand in turning to the dark side, by telling him he should just let Padme die for the good of the galaxy. The jedi who had abandoned his padawan, his little sister, his first child (if he could go so far as to say) in her time of need, and then exsept her to come back all smiles, acting as though her whole ordel was just a trial to prove herself to them. When it was them who should be providing themselves to her.
And the sith,. The sith who had manipulated him from day one to become what he is now, the sith who had taken every thing he had, his wife, his child, his brother/father figer, his little sister/daughter and his friends. The clones. His home all gone for the sake of his masters new empire😡. Yes he new this had been his master's plan all along, the war the clones, the inhibitor chips. All to gane more and more power for himself and to distroy the jedi in his wake. Dragging Anakin down into the darkness with him, and he would do the same thing to Jaig given the chance. Vader could feel the raw power of the force rolling of her, the energy mix with her fear would be a prime canderdate for Sidious's manipulation, should he ever discover her existence.
No!!! That would not happen, neither the sith or the jedi would have her, he would not alow it.
Jaig:"I know who you are.. I know what you did... You tryed to turn my mother before killing her, but you wouldn't turn me, you hear me, I.. Will.. Not... Turn"
She says her voice shacking with her body in fear.
Vader:"no... You will not..."
Jaig: "then why am I here? I haven't done anything to make you hate me.... At least... I don't think I have"
Vader:"I do not hate you Jaig, like your mother, much to my masters great..... disappointment... I could never hate you"
It was true. He couldn't hate her. Couldn't bring himself to hate her. But he couldn't love her either. He had no more love left in him to give. But he could protector for the sake of someone he had loved.
Jaig: confused "then.. Then please let me go, I won't tell anyone if that's what your worried about, I just want to go home, I want my dad, please I just want my daddy😰"
Vader: "you father's fate is.... Regrettable. However it is a necessary evil, it is emperative that he believes you to be dead"
Jaig: "why what did he do to you? what did any of my parents ever do to you?!"
Vader: "as shocking as it may sound, these actions are not done out of hate. You will know this soon enough but for now, I must focus on getting you as far away and as hidden as possible" he then calls in a trouper with red and black armor.
Vader: "CC-2224 I trust your men are ready"
Cody: "ready and awaiting orders.. Sir"
Cody says through gritted teeth not bearing to even look at his once general's masked face.
Vader:"good, I trust the surgery was a success for all of them?"
Cody: "yes.. Sir.. Though we are all having adjustment issues due to recent ... and.... less recent events"
Vader: "thoughs... issues.... had better not interfere with the performance of your mission commander, you and your men have been chosen for one reason and one reason only, and it is for your loyalty to her safety. I can feel your hatred for me commander Cody (Cody inhails sharply at the sound of his name) but I also know enough about you and your brother's to know that they will not let this anger get in the way. I trust you all know the consequences that await you should you fail"
He ignites his blood red saber to put more emphasis on his point.
Cody:"yes sir"
Vader:"very well, now take her and go, and protect her with your life, I shall make my own way back to base as some as I can, her training with began immediately after my return, so be sure to proper her, but until then you already know what to do".
Cody noded before walking over to Jaig, then bent down and gently but fermly lifts her out of her seat, and quickly carry her out of the cell, down the hall and, through the, docking Station towards a unmarked referbished gunship.
Jaig: "where are we going? "
She said with a soft whimper. She was relieved to be away from Vader but still felt apprehensive with the idea of being taken away yet again in the arms of this.. Purge trooper, at lest she thinks it's a purge trooper, she had never seen one before so she could only guess.
Cody: "sh sh it's gonna be OK little one, I'm taking you some were safe, but we have to hurry now"
Jaig:"why?"
Cody: "no one on this ship other than Vader knows we're here and we have to keep it that way kid"
Jaig:"why would you need to hide from your own men"
Cody:"cuz you never know whos watching, I'll explain more when we get off this ship and into hyperspace"
Once they were on board the gun ship, that had been modified to acomidate long period space travel. The modifications included everything from comfortable seating to a working hyperdrive. Cody set her down in one of the seats and strapped her fermly in before heading to the cockpit, leaving her now surrounded by four more purge troopers (hardcase, fives, dogma and waxer, who I'm gonna say lived, cuz I have attachment issues, boil is in the cockpit piloting the ship) who are all looking at her intensely through their helmets. (hardcase and fives are in borrowed discises, after Fives finds out about the chips he and hardcase desert the army and decide to strike out on their own to try and find out more about the chips and their perpose, unfortunately they were too late to do anything about it before oder 66 happened. They have been on the run ever since, until Vader aproches them, informing them that he has been keeping tabs on them, and had been insuring the empire believes them both to be dead, and tells them of the mission, they agree to help because it's Rex and ahsoka's daughter they'll be protecting, but only under the condition the they only report to a de-chipped Cody and all other clones included in the mission must also be de-chipped as well. Vader had agreed to this as he was going to have their chips all removed anyway, to prevent any itchy trigger fingers being near his new force sensative)
Once they're in hyperspace Cody returns to the main area of the gun ship, where the other clones are crowed around a frightened looking Jaig
Waxer: "is this her? Wow she looks so much like her mum"
Fives: "she has our eyes though, our wonderfully handsome eyes"
hardcase: "and out hair, Ha!! I knew Rex's hair wasn't naturally blonde😂"
Dogma:" technically Hardcase, her hair being brown isn't proof that his is to, she could have just gotten the hereditary Jango gen of dark hair"
Fives:"aww suck the fun out of it why don't you"
Cody: "guys back up, give her some space, your freaking her out, and take off your buckets, I don't think they're helping"
When their buckets were removed Jaig was shocked to see five versions of her father's face looking down at her, all old and a little worse for where's, but all very much clone. She recordnises three of them from her father's holopad.
Jaig: "Fives?"
Fives:😃 "yeah! Yeah kid, that's me your☝️ Uncle Fives (he kneals down taking her hand in his, giving it a quick squeeze, before turning to Cody) she recordnised me first that must kill you😁"
Cody: 😠 "only cus you have a, dirty great 5 on your forehead You Di'kut"
He said before knealing down in front of her
Cody:"hey kid, sorry I couldn't introduce myself earlier, I'm your.."
Jaig:"Uncle Cody"
Cody:😁 "yeah kid (to Fives) SEE!! over there are your uncles Dogma, Waxer, Hardcase and back there in the cockpit is your uncle Boil, I know your probably not used to this many of us, but there's more we're we came from where we're going, though they live un a different fasilaty to ours, but every single one of them would be whiling to keep you safe if they knew. So you don't have to worry, we're not gonna let anything happen to you"
Jaig "but Vader.."
Cody: (places both hand at the side of her head and looks her dead in the eyes) "isn't going to TUCH you, not if we have anything to say about its, he may be our sponser, and he will be coming round every so often to check on you and train you. But you'll have several hundred or so uncles on the planet ready and waiting with fully loaded blasters should he ever try to hurt you, us 6 especially as we're the only clones there that know about you yet and we're gonna be living under the same roof, as you and one of us will always be close by to help you. OK kid, it's all gonna be ok (he says hugging her) your safe now"
Jaig: "but I don't want to be trained by Vader, I said I wouldn't turn and I meant it"
Cody: "it's alright, its alright. The one thing Vader has assured us of, is it he will not be training you in the dark side. And judging by the amount of effort he's putting into keeping you hidden, I'm inclined to believe him. He told us that you must block your self off from the force, what ever that means. Which is what he's going to show you how to do. Apparently it's the only way to keep the emperor off your scent. But like I said, one of us is always gonna be there should he try anything"
Fives:"yeah we'll look out for you kid, I know you miss your dad, and we're pretty poor substitutes, but we're here for you all the same"
Hardcase:"and we're not leaving anytime soon"
Dogma: "well not if we can help it"
Jaig "but where are we going?"
Cody: smile "to the closest thing we clones have to a home... Kamino"
Kamino had changed over the years, once the emperor had ordered to stop to any more clones creation. The cloning fasilaties had been abandoned by the kaminoans, along with all the rest of the untrained cadets who were all shipped of to the mustafa system to be trained and bred as the empires elite force of purge troopers.
The cloning facilities were left to the old now retired clones, to live out their days away from civilisation, many now wolowing in sadness and regret for their actions under the influence of their now un activated inhibitor chips.
The place Jaig and her other uncles were heading, was just a few hundred miles of from the main cloning compound. It had been kitted out with everything they might need, weaponry, shields, a food station, bedrooms, a bunkhouse, a training ground, and a shooting range. The only beings abord were now the clones, Jaig, the cook and the maintenance crew, well I say crew, it consisted of one male Ugnaught named Kuiil and three droid assistants whom he had reprogrammed to help with any and all clean up and maintenance duties.
Jaig would continue to live out there with her uncles for the next 5 years. They would go on to train her with any and all things clone, weaponry, though she had learnt a lot of that from her father's teachings, and the language and teachings of the mandalorian. The boys were insistent that she learn all of what little they knew of their heritage, as they were all descended from Jango, who was of mandolor. Any clone would tell you how proud the clones were of this heritage, and now they had someone to pass it all down to. They even taught Jaig the mandalorian wars songs that they had all learnt as cadets, and the Clone Haka, that had been performed by many clone troops over the years, before battle,. Much to the confusion and quite frankly terror of the B1 battle droids who witnessed them.
Fives: "ha your mum was pritty good at this to"
Jaig: now 12" my mum knew the Haka? "
She said, trying to picture her calm and serene togrutan mother, chanting, stomping and banging her chest along side millions of clones Warriors, all while making different faces and throatle sounds at the droids on the other side of the battlefield.
Hardcase: "oh yeah!! She was a natural, always shouting the chant in her loudest voice and making her scariest war face, like this 🤪😜🤪"
Fives: "and that my dear Jaig, was when your father fell in love🥰"
Vader came over as often as he could spare, when he was sure he couldn't be directed be his master or that anyone following him. Teaching Jaig how to disconnect herself from the force, telling her that if she continues to use it, the consequences would be severe.
Vader:"if the employer was ever to discover you exsisens, he would hunt you down in an instant, and kill anyone who trys to hide you from him. This is why you must never use the force again, and you must never leave. If anyone outside this fasilaty were to learn of your existence, you would be in mortal danger, as would everyone you care about"
Jaig: "but why couldn't my dad come? You could have had both our deaths faked and brought him here with me"
Vader: sighed "he is to mixed up with the rebel alliance, and besides, it was his reaction that sold your death to the universe. A trick I learned from my old master...the hard way"
He said bitterly.
Jaig knew she should hate him, he had taken her from her home, her friends and family. He had taken her mother, and it was because of his foolish decision to trust, a maniac, power hungy, sith Lord, that her family were forced to live in the shadows, and her mother, and father were force into separation when she was just an infant. She didn't like him by any means, she frequently tryed to avoid his at any turn. But she still couldn't feel hatred for him.
Cody: "na that your mother in you, she was never one to hold much of a grudge ether. She got angry at people don't get me wrong but she never hated them. She cryed over the potential execution of a woman who had Framed her for Murder once. And had taken the time to give all her deceased troops, who had tryed to gun her down a funeral. Even though she and your father where now on the run from the empire"
Over the years living there, she became closer with her uncles, or at least most of them. She argued with Boil on an almost daily basis, but they had their moments, she told him and Waxer how she met Numa, who was still fighting for the freedom of her home. She had a difficult time connecting with Dogma. He was very distance from her and didn't talk much. However she did like listening to him read. Dogma who had been a stiff by the book solder his entire life, and had been through so much, found he secretly quite enjoyed the company of his niece. But she spent most of her training with Fives and Hardcase. Both clones always new how to make her smile and told her many stories of her parents during the war, stories not even her parents had told her, (though they never much liked talking about the war), and she had given them a new lease of life, and new perpose. She was probably closest with Cody, he had know her father since they were both cadets, and was determined to teach her everything he knew, but he also showed his softer side with her. There were many a time he would be seen walking down the corridor carrying the young girl who was really getting a bit to big to be held, in his arms fast asleep from a long day.
She had also become quite good friends with Kuiil the maintenance manger, she learnt that he was paying off his debt to the empire through prolonged servitude, he had been in many battles he didn't believe in, until Vader; after seeing his reprogramming skills had, offered him a place on this secret compound. Kuiil had also taken quite a shine to Jaig, she was kind, and eager to learn the inner workings of the machines he fixed.
But yet again, even this would not last. After the destruction of the First Death Star, Lord Sidious had been furious with Vader, he tortured and demoted him. But through his touture he discovered the existence of the child Vader had taken such lengths to keep hidden from him. And through this new information, he devised a plan.
To brake his apprentices even ferther, he would force him to chose, chose between the life of his padawans child, who he had swarn to protect, and the life of his son, that he did not yet know about. But unfortunately for the emperor, he did not bargain for the tactical brilliance of the Clones.
When the empire, came to take the now 15 year old girl, they had already divested their own escape plan. They sent Jaig along with Kuill over to the kaminoan cloning facilities, turned clone retirement home, before the empire even entered the atmosphere. There she was frozen in to carbonite and fastened to the inside of the newly alcoved underbelly of a small one-seater Y wing (to insure the if the empire should come across them she would be well hidden and undetected, Kuiils cover story being that he was delivering supplies to the clones) there Kuiil would then fly far away from any siverlized planet. While, the clones continued to fight and defend the compound as though she was still there, and then proceed to escape themselves, using an old subship left over from the battle of Kamino. But not before bowing the place sky high, making it seem like the empires had fired at the fewl tanks corsing the whole building to be destroyed along with anyone who was inside.
This was not the out come Sidious had wished for, however with the now almost certain death of his ward, Vader plunged ever ferther into the void of darkness and hate. So the desired effect Sideous was planning for was reached anyway.
After being unfrozen from carbonite, Jaig and Kuiil parted ways. She chose to for her father, but it became fruitless. Chopper base had long since been evacuated and the rebel alliance was always one step ahead of her in their attempts to avoid the empire. For 2 years she searched for them, and fought the Empire where she could, until she finally stopped, delving into the belief that what ever family she knew was now gone, she rejoined Kuiil on a deserted planet called Arvala-7, while the galaxy celebrated the fall of the empire. Where for the next 5 years they would both try to live out their lives in peace, working the land and carrying for blurgs, until a mandolorian arrives on their planet, looking for a little green bounty, which starts of a whole new adventure for our now Adult Jaig.
OK guys let me know how I did, and if you would like to see Jaig's adventures with Din Djarin and little green bean Grogu. Let me know. I'm not much of a writer,. But I always got so irratated when reading Din Djarin/oc fics where to make her interesting, they give the oc force powers, with either no build up to it, or she's a run away jedi, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of season 2 were they're trying to find the jedi, so I thought I'd write my own. I wanted to have a character that has both a clear connection to both the mandalorian culture and the force, without making her a mary su. She has a connection to the force. But she can't use it, or control it. Therefore she can't train Grogu to use it. Which would mean they'd have to find the jedi, to help him learn to control his powers. Plus I don't want to just giving her everything with no preplanned reason. So here is my preplanned reason. I know these short scenes and conversations don't really delve much into her personality but that's were you come in. Tell me what you think of her, and what you think she's like as an adult. I wrote a few things like her kind nature and her sarcastic humour. But I could do with some ideas on what you would like to see. Let me know, and...
May the 4th be with you,😉
6, 8, and 16 Alliance asks, please 😉
6) Are there any NPC’s from the class stories you’d like to see/HC join the Alliance? Ex: Master Timmns, Ardun Kothe, Watcher One, etc
Jonas Fucking Balkar. He should be a full romance option for Troopers and I will die on this hill.
Also, Fuse! He should have played a role in later chapters of the Trooper story if you saved him, and he definitely joins Ves's Alliance. I also like to think he helps Havoc out during the years she's in carbonite.
I wish they hadn't killed off Crysta during SoR and that she and her daughter could have joined the Alliance. I headcanon that more Mando'ade than just Torian join up (Clan Ordo, at the very least, since they have an established history with Torian and the BH)
I wish Master Orgus's Force Ghost had stuck around to just annoy the hell out of Valkorian. Just the idea of Valk being constantly Statler-and-Waldorf'd by a dead Jedi Master is hilarious to me.
Trooper and BH are the only classes I've finished all the way through (so far), so I may have more to add to this in the future ;)
Also, I headcanon that both Vette and Torian are saved because I hate Bioware's obsession with "choose which beloved companion will die". Ves saves Torian while Kade saves Vette and Marii helps Arcann and Senya protect the Gravestone and everyone wins.
8) Are any of your other OC’s part of the Alliance? If yes what do they do for the Alliance? Do they get along with your Commander?
My "canon" Commander is Vesiya Hallis Jorgan (Colonel Jorgan, officially, but she doesn't use her rank anymore. f!Trooper, Medic Commando, mostly LS), but I've really enjoyed adding the others to her story in a non-Commander capacity. I like the idea of having a complete set of all of them working together eventually.
Marii Shan (former Jedi Battlemaster Aramarii Wrinn. f!Jedi Knight, Watchman Sentinel, mostly LS) is a really good combat tactician and an equally good spy. During the five years Ves is in carbonite, she gets a reputation as a terrorist among Arcann's forces for saving rebels and dissidents from his wrath. Once she officially joins the Alliance, she is Theron's favorite lead scout, she goes behind enemy lines for recon missions. Briefly, during the Order of Zildrog business, she's promoted to Spymaster, until her then-boyfriend (now husband) comes home.
Kade Mithal of Clan Cadera (f!Bounty Hunter, Bodyguard Mercenary OR Pyrotech Powertech (both, really, because I've never been able to choose), full LS) joins when Torian does. They're a team and she goes where he goes, no matter what. She's a very good bounty hunter. If you need someone found, she's your girl. I'm fairly certain she's the one who found where Ves was being held so Lana could rescue her.
I'm pretty sure Riykas (Jedi Shadow, full LS) and Jayce (Sith Juggernaut, full LS) join Ves's Alliance too, but I haven't decided in what capacity yet.
Ves and Marii become really good friends during the Revan business, and that continues once Marii joins the Alliance. They work well together and balance each other out. Really, the Jorgans and Shans in general get along well. Also, the two of them teaming up has got to be terrifying for Valk personally because they are the two biggest pains in his ass in the whole galaxy.
Ves and Kade have a lot of respect for each other, though they don't spend much time together outside of work until after Ves saves Torian during Vaylin's assault on Odessen. After that, Ves is as good as family as far as Kade is concerned, and she is an unofficial part of their clan.
Marii and Kade get along surprisingly well, considering the animosity between Jedi and Mandalorians. They have a bit of a playful rivalry, but trust each other completely when the shit hits the fan (which it often does). When one of Kade and Torian's daughters ends up Force Sensitive, Marii offers to train her.
16) From our OC’s point of view, SoR -> KotET wasn’t a fun experience, did they develop any fears as a result?
Ves is scared of carbonite stasis, and will absolutely fight to the death before ever being put in it again. She still sometimes wakes up from nightmares with psychosomatic stasis-blindness, and on really bad days has to remind herself that she isn't just having a very detailed coma dream.
Marii would never ever admit it, but she's scared of Valkorian getting in her head again. It's happened twice now (once during the JK story, once on Ziost), and she's not sure she'll be able to break free if it happens a third time. She stays behind when everyone else goes to free Satele from Valk's plague, even though her connection to Kira and Scourge would have probably protected her. Just in case.
I don't think Kade fears anything lmao
fka twigs: lyra solaris
song: "garden song by pheobe bridgers"
Lyra Solaris is a Solaris citizen and orphan. She gave herself her name, after her home planet and the constellation. She is a force-sensitive individual however she did not become a Jedi as the "Immersion" happened during her youth. She and her childhood sweetheart were recruited for training for the squad however Lyra escaped the training facility for freedom, hiding out in the woods and cities until she found a smuggler willing to take her on.
She is prone to act out, think impulsively and criticise others when she thinks they are doing a good job. However, she is also heavily motivated and offers any important information as she truly wants Solaris to be her's again. She acts out because beneath it all, she's terrified and stressed.
She is very mad that Lady Amedelia has successfully made a killing machine out of the children from her planet. Upon hearing Poe Dameron and Rina Zhang have to infiltrate a training base in Solaris in a bar she immediately asks them about it and tells them she knows her home-planet and the training facility almost too well.
She joins them on their journey, fuelled by anger and revenge. However when she arrives to the base and tries to fight her way through the guards, she realises that alone cannot properly motivate someone through a fight.
She gets into a tries to blast a clothed Deathris figure and they try to blast at each other until he figure out the women is Lyra. He shows her mercy and shows that he is Cassian. At first Lyra is abrasive, rude, mad until she hears Cassian's side, and how scary it had been. She tells him if he makes the choice to join the Resistance he wouldn't be alone. They make peace and he helps her release the others as well as find the plans of invasion, and quickly dispel them. At the end of Episode 7, she realises before there can be peace, their must be forgiveness.
'I grew up here Cassian. You did too, until it all went up in flames. Do you remember the summers we had? Do you remember how it felt? Freedom?"
"I am mad and stressed everyday I wake up. Every time I'm happy, it always creeps onto me that I will feel that way again."
amy adams: jaina organa
song: "chinese satellite by pheobe bridgers"
Jaina Organa is the daughter and the only child of Han Solo and Leia Organa to survive the Immersion. The Battle of Coruscant took her Mother, Father and siblings' lives. She was rescued by Kaenen, an old ally of her father's and supporter of the Rebellion. In her youth, she lived with Kaenen and his wife Lyanna in D'Quar.
She is ultra-sensitive of the implications of being a Jedi and purposely chose not to become one, knowing her grandfather's heritage and how prone to anger she is. Instead, she is the best "techie" in the resistance due to her childhood shadowing the grown-ups.
Jaina experiences anxiety from her separation at such a young age. Kaenen's wife Lyanna is one of her best friends and experiences emotional attachment to her, Kaenen and eventually Lyra and Lenden.
She is extremely insecure due her parents and uncle's legacy, as well as her grandfather's and often lashes out and criticises others as a result.
She isn't very confident in herself and her abilities, which can lead to dangerous situations. She is also shy towards people she is not comfortable around. She often feels like is overcompensating. As much as she is insecure she is also loyal as her fears heighten knowing the "true" extent of war.
She wishes to be better than she is, and feels unexplainably out of place and as if she doesn't belong in D'Quar. She wonders if she'll ever be as good as her parents, and through her character arc through Episodes 7-9, she realises realises her importance to the Resistance and those around her. She is able to stand up for herself against Lady Amedelia and helps Lyra avenge her planet and parents. She is able to forgo and let go of the violence inside her, realising that hatred breeds hatred.
rebecca ferguson: lady amedelia palpatine / empress saken (sith lord)
Lady Amedelia was born force-sensitive and was able to become a Sith Lord as her father, Sheev, had passed down the Force. She was raised with the ideals of the Galactic Empire, indoctrinated from a young age. She might've felt that she could've been good at one stage, but she was able to rationalise it in order to impress her father.
Young and impressionable, as the New Republic Era starts she infiltrates the Royal Family of Solaris and becomes Lady Amedelia through marriage. Using this method she becomes a member of the New Republic.
Former Senate Lady Amedelia successfully infiltrated the New Republic Era and through forming a network with other corrupt Senates, planets and royals such as Aragon, Deair'th, Moraband, her own and others. Through a planned two years she was able to pass law and rules which restricted the New Republic, freedoms of mentioned planets and others in the galaxy. She successfully rose to the top as a Head of Republic (a law passed).
The First Order was successfully built off the fascist ideals of the Galactic Empire. Lady Amedelia now goes by her "true" identity as Empress Saken, a Sith Lord, with her father dead. The First Order started invading other, smaller planets to gain territory, and ruled her home-planet Solaris, with an iron-fist as a breeding ground for Deathris squads. Using her warriors named "Deathris squad" which was supplied using children from Solaris. They are deathly but also scared of Empress Saken and her generals, Lady Aragon and General Sakelaris.
Han Solo, Leia Organa, Kaenen and his wife Lyanna created the Resistance, a organisation seperate from the once peaceful now corrupt New Republic with old alliances and connections.
During the First Orders' invasion of Coruscant, Leia and Han set out to defend it, however the Empress brutally defeats them and the few members of the Resistance present.
This process was called the Immersion.
She now rules over majority of Galaxy and the First Order.
timothèe chalamet: cassian volateris
song: "i know the end by pheobe bridgers"
Cassian Volateris was Lyra's childhood sweetheart however their paths diverged when they reached the age for the Deathris squad.
He was sweet but unlike Lyra he had the fear conditioned into him. As Lyra ran away, he stayed. They did not meet again until the end of Episode 7 where the Resistance was successfully able to infiltrate the training facility in order to successfully free indoctrinated Deathris squads and stop the invasion of D'Qar.
Lyra and Cassian meet again and at first Lyra is abrasive, rude, mad until she hears Cassian's side, and how scary it had been. She tells him if he makes the choice to join the Resistance he wouldn't be alone. He and several other trainees join the Resistance.
"Instead of a chance, there was just death."
"We can't all be as brave as you. As selfish."
😄Me and my coworker found these angry, passive aggressive sticky notes tossed on the floor today. It was soooo funny, like a paper trail.
Then we Started looking around for more angry stickies to find out who it is, and then we saw this gut write on one of the Gaylords with the same letter E written just like in asssholeeeeeeeee and me and my coworker both started screaming laughing.
He's funny that way 😂 we silly till the blue lights come on. Talking about Star Wars and why the Jedis didn't help Anakins mom, who was a slave and died because she was still kept in slavery till he grew up but Anakin was always worried about her, seeing visions of her death, getting hurt, or being kidnapped.
All that paranoia could have been solved in my opinion if he could have kept her close by and free from slavery in the desert. But noooooo Jedis aren't allowed to fall in love and have relationships, almost like the monks.
And my coworker brought up that Anakin still would have became Darth Vader or just still fucked up with or without his mom because they always sensed he had a dark side in him since he was a child.
And then said the only one who ever said no to training anakin, before Obi-Wan....it was Samuel Jackson's Character with the purple Saber. And that's the reason why it's that color. He found balance between his dark side and his jedi power.
I was like wowwww, I wonder if Harry Potter could've been able to do that. Choose light and dark?
But how?
I'm thinking about Harry, cause I'm thinking about me too. I still need training on how to balance my self out.
It's like me, my light, and my shadow self all have their own temperaments and there's some other people influences in between.
I need alot of others opinions and facts to prove to me that I'm right because I wasn't taught to trust myself 1st. It was trust my parents word over my own, my teachers, and God's. But....as I got older....and after witnessing some of the lessons and stories from the movies/shows I grew up on with my family and me...
I'm really starting to get that maybe what I think I think about love isn't necessarily wrong, it's what keeps me safe, sane, and protected from ever getting hurt again, feeling isolated from my family or being left without my needs met. Or accepting others before I even accepted myself.
It's like my tragedy was putting everybody, including my family 1st without thinking about what I wanted for me. Because I never thought I would get it. Because I always dream bigger than most people and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
I want Jay walking through that door right now, with the imaginary suitcase packed and they tells me "I'm sorry, I love you, I've always loved you, and I just kept hiding my feelings to protect Ayunna, because I really just liked you at 1st, but I don't want you to ever leave my existence" and begging me to take them back.
I owe him an apology too for cussing him out so bad, cause I do regret the way that it came out now that I'm owning that my anger and my words are a fumilated gun from never being allowed to express my anger to myself, my mother and maybe yea, sometimes my Dad too, but he always cared enough to listen to me talk about why I felt upset if he said or did something that hurt me.
Unless it was a punishment. We never talked about punishments that I disagreed on....but that was because of mom. I never said anything until years later....but I'm not sure. I feel Jay triggered the open mom rejection wound. And me trusting that I could come out to her and she would accept me, and make me feel secure in just trying out this gay thing permanently....it just shook my nerves to the fact that this gay life I'm about to start living (because I've never been able to go out on a date with a girl or Jay too unless I snuck out) is not the safest and can actually make me not wanna dare or have sex with insecure ppl just like how I feel about men, if I can't procreate with the right partner who understands my brain, not judge Me or try to control or mislead my heart in any other certain way.
Because both parents know how to manipulate and manage but in certain ways you would have to have experienced it or seen it yourself to know what I mean.
Imperial Problem Child-verse. 'I'm conflicted about Ques. On one hand, fighting back-to-back with my son was exhilarating. I've never been that in-tune with another Force user before. Not even Obi-wan or Ahsoka, in happier times. And Luke's viewers were intrigued as well. On the other hand... Sidious' rage at my failure to turn Luke grows. Soon I will be recalled for punishment. For now, I kneel beneath his hologram and intone, "What is thy bidding, my Master?"
The Emperor grows impatient. How is it that the Skywalker brat has remained out of his reach for so long? He’d literally been announced as heir apparent of Lord Vader for crying out loud! He was almost undeniably in regular contact with his father – the treacherous snake, but Sidious taught him that so he felt he was slightly to blame for that – and there was almost certainly a conspiracy afoot.It was almost laughable, to think that Vader actually felt he could force his starry-eyed Jedi offspring into helping him overthrow a dark lord of the sith like Sidious.
But then.
What if it wasn’t laughable?Anakin Skywalker was still the Chosen One, and his child would be a force to be reckoned with – Sidious refused to acknowledge the pun as it happened – and if the miserable Rebel managed to persuade his father to cooperate with him – or worst of all possible outcomes, awaken his compassion – then he was at risk.
Not to mention that he was not a young man by any stretch of the imagination, and he could not afford to be as patient and methodical with the younger Skywalker’s fall as he had been with the elder.
“I have, perhaps, been too lenient with the boy,” Vader knelt in the hologram, sounding contrite and radiating apprehension. “He is not quick to forget old wounds, hastily dealt. Yet he has made compromises that Obi-wan would most surely have found alarming.”
Well, if he hadn’t been in such a foul mood, Sidious would have acknowledged that this was better than no progress at all. But he was in a terribly foul mood and made certain his errant apprentice felt the full brunt of it.“And what use are compromises to me, Lord Vader?” he sneered, “You let him go free and challenge the order of my Empire!”
“I have earned his trust, my master,” was it his imagination, or did Vader almost sound as though he were protesting, rather than offering explanation? “And through him, I have successfully redirected the attentions of the Rebel Alliance onto the cartels of Hutt Space.”
Hm. Curious.
Sidious leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers. Vader knew better than perhaps anyone else that the Hutt Cartels were an infuriating source of frustration to him. They were far too independent, and only just barely recognized him as any sort of authority at all, but they were powerful enough and just useful enough that he didn’t care to waste his navy on them.For the Alliance to attack Hutt Space would be a fool’s errand, one they would surely not survive.That was….clever. Very clever of Vader. And discovering that he’d helped send his rebel friends to their deaths would surely darken the boy’s spirits.
“Very well, Lord Vader, I will allow you to continue for now,” he warned, “But you must realize that only together can we turn the boy and bring him to his rightful place within the Empire.” He waited for some trite obsequiousness on Vader’s part, then terminated the connection to glower in silence.
——— Bonus
A little shaky, Vader pulled himself up off his knees. Once more, he had narrowly avoided utter disaster. While not generally a patient man, he was more subtle than the Emperor believed, particularly when he had something to fight for. And it seemed that Sidious was still entirely unaware of Leia’s significance, which Luke would be grateful for. Which I am grateful for, he thought.
“I notice you didn’t mention we’ve actually successfully captured a planet and two asteroid bases in Hutt Space,” Luke looked disturbed – who wouldn’t after being in proximity to even a shadow of the Emperor? – but remained seated at Vader’s desk.He wasn’t entirely sure when the boy had come in.
“You would think,” Vader said calmly, hoping to distract Luke from the fact that he was in pain, “That our esteemed Emperor might take the time to read the paperwork I send him every once in a while. It was all there in the reports, after all.”
“Because you’re so good about paperwork,” Luke chuckled and cast a pointed look at stacks of datapads on the desk.Vader was, of course, annoyed at this impertinence, but the fact that Luke was comfortable enough to poke fun at him – always behind closed doors, never in front of his men, he had the presence of mind to be grateful for that – was astonishing enough to keep him silent.For a moment or two, at least.
“Move,” he grunted, waving Luke out of the chair so that he could all but collapse into it. He leaned forward and steepled his fingers. “We may need to accelerate your training. You must at the very least, if you insist upon being stubborn, have the appearance of tilting towards the Dark Side soon, or the Emperor will insist on turning you himself. You will not survive.”
“I know, Father.”
“We need a contingency plan.”
“We have one,” Luke flashed a cheeky grin. “Sic Leia on him!”
There was silence a moment, then Vader declared, “If your sister had any training in the use of the Force at all, I might agree with that. But it would be…an unpleasant affair.”
“I can see it now,” Luke declared, only half joking, “She stands on the steps of the palace, a lightsaber in one hand and the head of the former Emperor in the other. It will be captured in classical paintings for generations. Probably a few sculptures. Very nice pieces, all, good use of light and shadow and composition.”
Vader turned very slowly and stared at Luke. “You’ve actually put thought into this?” he shook his head. “I worry about you.”
Well, Luke decided, if he was well enough to tease him, he was well enough to spar.
The Tales of a Teenage Time Traveler: Chapter Fourteen
in which i go over 10,000 words and 30 pages in my word document
Chapter Fourteen
Lucky for me, Hannah hadn't left yet, and the tree with the napkin was in the same place I left it. I found the door and pushed it open, making sure it shut behind me like I always did.
“You're back early, did they kick you out already?” Hannah asked. She was sitting in a rolling chair with her head and shoulders on the seat and her legs sticking straight up. In her hands was a rubix's cube.
“No, they didn't- No!” I stammered. Hannah turned the cube over in her hands, studying it. Then she began peeling the colored stickers off of the square faces, sticking them temporarily on her jeans in order of color.
“Luke said I need to train with Obi-Wan,” I explained. Hannah continued peeling the stickers off.
“He's dead,” she said bluntly. I sat down on the couch.
“No, not old, Obi-Wan, Clone Wars Obi-Wan,” I clarified. Hannah paused, tilting her head to look at me.
“That would require some sort of time traveling device, wouldn't it?” She asked, her tone suddenly icy. I swallowed, unsure of what to say.
“Luke, uh, well he's a Jedi, you know? And you can't lie to Jedi-” “You told him.” Hannah flipped herself upright in a fluid motion, setting the now stickerless cube on the control table with a loud clunk. Her eyes narrowed at me. I looked away.
“I had to, Hannah,” I whispered. She stood up and began punching in digits on one of the many screens on the control table.
“Hannah?” I asked tentatively. “What?” her tone was clipped.
I bit my lip. “What are you doing?”
“Taking you to Coruscant, what does it look like I'm doing?” She replied with hostility.
“Please don't be mad at me,” I begged. Hannah sighed, like a parent does when dealing with a small child who is pushing their buttons.
“I'm…… not mad. It just means we have to be more careful. We can't let many people know about this, or else word will get out. Its impossible to stop it, people slip up their words all the time. Its just a fact of life. But you have to be more careful,” She said, leaning over the controls. Her long pale brown hair hung limpy over her shoulders. She never would let me tie it back for her.
“I have to tell one more person at least,” I said. Hannah looked over her shoulder at me.
“Who?”
“Obi-Wan. Luke said he had told him about having another padawan, and the description Luke remembered matched me almost perfectly. But Luke said that Obi-Wan also said that the padawan could time travel, or at least Luke thinks he heard him say that. Either way, I will have to explain myself to him somehow, so I have to tell him,” I informed her.
Hannah nodded slowly. She pulled a lever and the ship shuddered briefly, then stopped.
“Well, we're there. I better walk you to the temple, you're way to young and cute to be walking the streets of Coruscant on your own,” she decided.
“I thought you couldn't be seen in public though,” I reminded her. Hannah shrugged, grabbing a heavy grey cloak from a coat hanger by the hall door.
“I'll be careful.”
She opened the door to the ship, gesturing with her arm in a sweeping motion.
“After you, my little Jedi,” she said. I hesitated, then walked gingerly out of the ship. I turned around to see it; this time it had transformed into an old, beat-up hovercar covered in graffiti. Hannah must have noticed the confusion on my face.
“This way it won't get towed or defaced,” she explained.
“Ah.”
The streets of Coruscant were almost exactly as they were portrayed in the movies; filled with people of all shapes and species. I felt suddenly grateful for Hannah's offer to tag along. I stayed close by her, letting her lead the way as she wove in and out of the crowds, always staying in the shadows and avoiding contact with pretty much everyone. Her cloak did well to hide her from the rest of the world, but I stuck out like a sore thumb. Literally. I pulled my cape close to my body, holding the corners in my hands to prevent it from blowing behind me as much as possible. Even so, I continued to get noticed by everyone we passed. I stared at my feet as we walked.
“Hey, watch out!” I heard someone say. I looked up, thinking they were talking to me, to see a small child careening out of control. She ran straight into me, knocking me to the ground. She looked up at me, not speaking. Her eyes were big and neon blue. They almost looked fake, but they somehow matched her vibrant yellow hair. She wore a dark grey layered v-neck tunic that went to her knees over a silky bright pink long sleeved shirt. In terms of standing out in a crowd, she was certainly outdoing me by a long shot. She stared intently at me, slowly narrowing her eyes.
“Target found,” she whispered. Before I could react, she jumped up.
“So sorry about bumping into you like that, ma'am,” she apologized, her voice high pitched and very fake sounding in terms of cheerfulness. She darted off just a quickly as she ran into me, somehow becoming easily lost in the crowd despite her apparel. The people around me acted as though nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Hannah helped me stand up.
“You okay?” she asked. I nodded.
“Yeah, but who was that?” I replied, looking over my shoulder at the way she went. Hannah shrugged.
“I don't know, but I didn't like her. Hurry up, or we'll be late.”
I increased my pace, now jogging to keep up with Hannah.
“Late to the Jedi temple?” I asked. Hannah nodded again.
“Obi-Wan leaves to go on a mission in a couple hours. We need to get you there as soon as we can before he leaves so you have time to convince him to take you as your padawan,” she explained. I glanced at my best friend.
“It almost feels like you have an ulterior motive to me becoming a Jedi,” I mused aloud. Hannah shot a glare at me for a split second.
“I just could use some extra protection, that's all. Hush, or you'll say something secret,” she ordered. I stopped talking, following behind her in silence.
