Okayokay, hi! I know it’s been like a week since you responded to my last ask, but I just started summer semester so it’s been kinda hectic. It goes by so fast since it’s a 6 week semester instead of 12, so I’m already studying for midterms :,(

But anyway! I hope your exams went well and that you were able to pass your classes! It can’t be easy trying to get through school when your mental health isn’t doing so well.

And a potential vacation and some music events?? Sounds funnn, I hope you get to do that stuff and enjoy yourself :)

Yeah, I totally get what you mean about Songbirds and Snakes. It’s so so different from The Hunger Games since it’s from the POV of Snow and like…we know what he ends up becoming. So it’s not necessarily hopeful like THG ends up being. But it’s so interesting learning about how he became who he is in THG.

Also! On the subject of THG, idk if I mentioned this to you, but I recently watched a show Josh Hutcherson is in called Future Man (he’s the lead guy). It’s about time travel and it’s super off-beat and there’s lots of dirty humour, and it’s so funny and clever!! I think it’s a Hulu show? But we don’t have Hulu here so I watched it on Disney+. If you’re interested in stuff like that, I would def recommend. Josh is super funny and pretty in it!!

Oh my god I feel that so hard. Since I was 13, my parents have not heard the end of my many celebrity crushes. I think they tolerate my obsessions—at best 😭. But I cannot wait till The Covenant comes out on Prime, I’ve been watching edits and I am confident I’m going to lose my shit while watching it cause he looksTHAT GOOD. Like the ultimate dilf energy 😩

Hey, E!! So sorry it’s taken a bit to answer this one!! The last few days have been a bit messy for me and I’ve not had much energy to be online. But damn, congrats to you for taking on a summer semester!! I was thinking about signing up for a few summer classes myself but I've needed the break after the semester I just had. 😅 Hopefully these classes go well for you!!

And listen, now I've officially bought a copy of Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (and two new Palm Pals for my fledgling collection hehehe) as a fun little end of the semester present to myself. Partially because I wanna know what's going on when the movie comes out in theaters. The idea of going to a see a Hunger Games movie in theater again?? Ugh, it makes my heart just light up with nostalgia. 💖 So get ready to hear my thoughts and opinions on it in the coming weeks!!

About that show: I'm pretty sure I've actually seen some edits for Future Man?? I now have a whole Josh Hutcherson folder on TikTok because my algorithm just keeps giving me content about him lol. That one scene where he's like on his knees and saying that he promises he'll be a good boy and he'll be quiet?? 😀 I think that's from Future Man?? All I know is that if I watch that...I think I will go certifiably insane. But I'll definitely add it to my watchlist and check it out once I get the chance to!!

Co-star - Tom Hiddleston One-shot

Request: Hello darlin! I really love your posts and I was hoping you would do a one shot where Tom is on set and the reader is his love interest in the movie and they hook up after a few months of liking each other. Thank you darlin!!

“I can’t believe this!” You rummage through your handbag and your array of jackets hanging off hooks as you come into your trailer. You had just exited a lovely warm shower, and now your mood was ruined. “Y/n for the love of god please tell me you didn’t leave your phone with him!” You throw your bag on the couch and sit down on it as well, sulking. You go through the day, or the last few hours of the day, to try and remember where you might have left your iPhone. Hoping it wasn’t in Tom’s trailer. It comes to you within seconds. You and Tom had a close up scene where your characters were confessing your feelings for each other. Tom offered to keep your phone in his pocket because your 50s inspired dress didn’t have any pockets, in which you had replied, “Why on earth is the fifties unable to give women pockets?” Since none of your character’s outfits had them. Tom had laughed at this as he slipped the phone on his deep blue slacks.

You had forgotten to collect it from him after the shooting had wrapped earlier this evening. You two had even been out for dinner with some other cast mates, and he had failed to mention that he still had your phone. “He can be such an arse sometimes!” You say in an annoyed voice. Always when you’re stressed or frustrated you talk to yourself, a habit you hated and tried to unlearn. But Tom thought it very useful because he quote unquote wouldn’t be able to figure out what you were thinking if you didn’t have a running commentary on it.

You figured that’s why he looked so smug at the restaurant, he knew you had forgotten all about the whereabouts of the phone. He knew you’d have to come knocking on his trailer late in the evening. What was he planning? Warmth spread to your cheeks. You had to admit that there’s been some tension between the two of you, perhaps sexual tension or perhaps just a simple attraction. He was a charming man, and you found him attractive even before you had met him.

You had heard from several people that he was quite lonely, but that it was his choice. A lot of people could call him their friend but a very few numbers could say that they really knew him. As for the women in his life, there weren’t any of the romantic sorts. They came and went, but nobody got close. That scared you, that scared you a lot. Because it was hard not to fall for him, you two had so much in common. You had also studied classics, but not at Cambridge like near noble Tom had. You spent the spare time in each other’s company, discussing Greek mythology, the Illiad and more modern written works by Shakespeare and the Brontë sisters. What if he would just discard of you after some months together? You weren’t up for getting your heart broken. That wasn’t a good combination with your fast-paced life in London.

You sensed that he wanted you, he was always touching you in one way or another. While you walk together he ghosted his hand on your waist. When you groaned because your aching shoulder was acting up, he would massage it for you. He would put strands of hair behind your ears. You noticed that when your characters had kissing scenes he would be more intense, he wouldn’t use the kissing method actors used. He’d kiss you for real, tugging at your hair and clothes. You had kissed your fair share of handsome actors and none of them had kissed you like this like they weren’t acting. He was being slightly unprofessional, which you had also heard wasn’t like him. You weren't exactly innocent either, you would tease him in all the ways you could.

You need your phone, it was your alarm clock and all around entertainment for the night to come. You groan as you stand up, you flatten skirt of your basic dress, put on a jacket, your shoes and walk out the trailer. It’s grown colder, you could see your breath in front of you. A few minutes later you arrive at Mr Hiddleston’s trailer and you’re irritated now, but there’s excitement bubbling in your stomach. The lights are on, it’s not that late, it’s only 10 pm. With a silent prayer, said hastily under your breath you knock on the door. It opens nearly straight away, and it reviles a newly showered Tom. His hair was still damp, his cheekbones nearly glittering in the light. You unconsciously bite your lower lip. “And to what do I owe the pleasure darling?” He draws out the darling in a sensual way, and you huff, wishing he would stop smirking. “You’re holding my phone hostage.” You simply say as you pass him in the doorway, inviting yourself in and out of the cold. “Good to know you’re not a vampire.” He chuckles and closes the door behind you. “Very witty today, aren’t we Hiddleston,” You say as you face him, provoked that he had lured you to his trailer. “Phone please,” You reach out your hand awaiting its return. “Why the rush Y/n?” He moves past you into the small kitchenette, but not before gracing his hand against your side. Damn this man. “Fancy a whiskey? I’ve got the one you like, the non-smokey one.” You roll your eyes at him and sit down on the sofa, “Might as well.” He grins at you like he’s achieved a small victory of sorts.

He walks towards you with two glasses with ice and a generous amount of whiskey in them. “You know, I really thought you would remember that you left your phone with me,” He gives you the glass, clinking his with yours, “But I’m glad you didn’t, I’m always happy to have you alone.” He takes a sip of his whiskey, “You had this planned didn’t you,” You give him a smirk, and he blushes slightly, looks down at his glass and then back up at you. Confidence rises in you like the sea, “You’re supposed to be a gentleman, and not use my forgetfulness against me.” You also take a sip from the glass, the amber liquid burning your throat, but in a good way. ”I’m always a gentleman, Y/n.” He’s sitting close to you now, you could smell his cologne. Sandalwood, white musk. You raise an eyebrow, “I have a hard time believing that, darling.” You mock his posh accent and he laughs.

It’s nearly 12 when you reach for your phone to check the time. The two of you had been drinking whisky and talking for almost two hours. The flirting was always evident in your conversation, but now it was the sole purpose of the talk between you. You were discussing Tom’s style, how he would look so good in rounded glasses. “Don’t get me wrong, you look good in those,” You point to his face, he chuckles, “But think how good you’d look in round Tom Ford ones. Think Daniel Radcliffe in Kill Your Darlings.” You quickly reach for your phone and show him what you mean. “You’re right, I really like those.” He says as he rolls his wrist, sloshing the amber liquid around in his hand. “Did I nudge Tom Hiddleston into changing his much loved visual image?” You eye him up, and for effect, you sway your hand over his silhouette. Tom lets out a laugh at your display of sass. “You know you’ve got me wrapped around your finger, I've basically got your name written on the bottom of my shoe.” He moves closer, you felt his hot breath against your lips, “Darling,” Your eyes flicker to his lips, and your thoughts get invaded by how soft they look, how soft you know they are. You want him, but you didn’t want to show him that he was making you like this. You weren’t one to just fall at a guy's feet like this. He’ll only hurt you.

Tom’s hand snake around your neck, softly caressing the warm skin he found there. He’s looking at you with want, his pupils dilated with lust. You suspect yours are just as reviling. His large hand move its way to the side of your face. It feels so good to be wanted like this, your heart is beating fast in your chest. As his other hand ghosts at your side. Tom leans closer than before, “You’re overthinking,” Your eyes flash towards him, “I-,” You can’t spill your fears now, it’ll ruin the mode. You just shake your head, trying to convince him that you weren’t doing what he had accused you of. You let it slip anyway, “I don’t want to be a one night stand, I-“ He cuts you off and demands you to look up at him, he looks sad and a little caught off guard.

“Y/n, I don’t do casual, I never have. I didn’t plan this situation because I was going to have my wicked way with you,-“ You cut him off, “I don’t understand, don’t you want to?” He laughs a little and it confuses you even more, of course, he notices. “Of course I do, I have every intention of ravishing you tonight. But this,” He points at himself and then at you, “Isn’t just about sex,” Your lip quivers, “What is it about then?” He offers you a gentle smile, which coaxes a smile from you as well. ”I would like to think that this is about love,” He shakes his head, “I’ve tried to make you see how I feel, I feel like a scared teenager right now,” You laugh at this because it was exactly what you were feeling. “You’re everything I want.” He says this with such honesty that there isn’t any part of you that doesn’t believe him. You smile at him, “You’re,” You hesitate, sharing your feelings have never been your strong suit. But playing out your characters’ feelings seems the most natural thing to you. Tom’s hand is playing with your hair, patiently waiting for you to finish your sentence, “You’re everything I want too.” He grins, “Can I kiss you?” Words fail you and you simply nod. He smiles against your lips, adding pressure as his mouth cover yours. The kiss deepens and you slip your hands up his neck, one settling in his now dry hair.

Arón Piper imagine

saturday, january 18th 11:22pm • Today was Monday, August 22nd and all I've seen since 8am were wannabe actors reading their stupid lines to us pretending they were fucking Johnny Depp himself. God I was so sick of it, but since I've been grounded my dad made me cast people for this movie he was going to direct. Why were you grounded, you may ask. Well let's say, we just moved to Madrid basically to the end of the world since I grew up in America all my life. Yeah, my first days of school didnt really turn out to be super great, my english teacher was super racist in my opinion. She kept making „jokes" about my country/ and at some point i just snapped and told her how she dared to be so fucking racist. My class agreed with me yet my teacher didnt and put me in detention first and then called my dad. So yeah, thats why he's making me do this.

Some might think, its not a punishment to cast people for a „super cool movie" but have u ever been in a all white room for 10 hours listening to the same sentences over and over, being read by the worst people ever? No, exactly.

Its been exactly 4 hours now, its been around 12 when we decided to take a short break to get some food. I walked around the building for a while, grabbed a iced coffee at the bar and then sat down on a couch in the foyer to immediately text my friends from back home about how horrible i was feeling.

I didnt even get to text 5 words until my dad came around the corner saying something like:"Y/n, lets go. The people wont cast themselves. I mean they'd love to but that's our job." He then laughed loudly and almost couldnt stop. One thing about my dad: He thinks he's hilarious but in my opinion he's a little too full of himself. No offense, i love him of course.

Therefore I walked back to the cruel looking white room and sat down on my chair sipping my iced coffee. „Alright, next up, we have a Joshua Hamilton reading for the part of Jamey." I rolled my eyes. Yet again another Jamey. Ive heard the line:"No way Daniel, are you insane?! Have you even thought about the fact that you could get fucking killed?" about 50 times today.

And to be honest, the only person i'd like to get killed right now would be myself.

„Hello, my name is Joshua Hamilton, I'm 22 years old and I'll be reading for the part of Jamey." The tall, skinny looking guy then spoke after *extremely happy looking* entered the room. Well no offense but super happy people make me puke.

He then read his lines, horribly. He was just too enthusiastic and grinning through the entire thing. It was supposed to be a mad Jamey yelling at his brother who was about to attack his ex girlfriend's killer.

Dad then told him, they will call him. But lets be honest here, obviously they wont. • Alright so another 4 hours passed and we had almost all important characters casted, except Jamey. The crew was getting impatient and we were all super tired. „Dad how many are left?" I then asked because I wanted nothing more than this to end. „26." he answered, sounding annoyed. So was I. „Jeez, for fucks sake." I exclaimed and leaned back in my chair. „Y/n, watch your language!" He scoffed and took a sip of his water before leaning back as well.

„Okay next off we have a Arón Piper. He is Spanish-German, which wouldnt quite match with the way we pictured Jamey. But lets get the guy, kay?" Evan, the producer spoke after reading some reviews.

„Mhm." my Dad hummed. He seemed extremely tired and messed up to be fair.

As I said, I was annoyed and super damn hungry but the second this guy walked in, all my senses were on and I couldnt help but stare at him. He was tall, had curly hair, an earring on his left ear, chocolate brown eyes and a smile that could kill. „Hola,, I'm Arón." My dad seemed to like him too because he sat up straight scanning him up and down. „How old are you Arón?" Lucy, the executive producer asked him, smiling as well. „I'm 23." The handsome guy answered calm and sent me his billion dollar smile.

fuck • I smiled back and for whatever fucking reason I just said:"You must be working out, am I right?" Everyone looked at me but I didnt care, I just looked him right in the eyes and saw him laugh. „Y/n what the hell?" My dad whispered sounding pissed yet confused. „Jamey is a fit dude, he goes to the gym 6 times a week. We have to consider the fact that the actor has to be healthy and all as well." I tried to get out of the weird situation but actually I was just wishing for him to take off his shirt to show us -okay, me- his amazing abs I bet he had. „Uhm to be honest, I just dance, thats it. But you could call that a work out since Ive been doing it since I was 7 years old."

The others seemed impressed too, so Lucy cockily said:"So if acting wouldnt work, youd become a professional dancer?" Arón laughed again and answered:"Yeah, probably. But i havent even read my lines yet."

The entire time he was acting his lines, I was just staring at his god like face, every emotion, every move, every little change in his body language was perfect. My dad looked like he was impressed too and he then, after Arón had finished, spoke:"Thank you, Arón. That was amazing!" He smiled happily and answered fully paying attention:"Oh gracias, it means so much coming from you!" He walked up to my dad to shake his hand and then took back his portfolio. „Honey what do you think? Should we put him in round 2?" I looked over to my dad, took a glance at Arón who was smiling cutely at me. „Nah."

Everyone gave me a confused look and in Arón´s eyes I could see pure fear.

„I think we should give him the part.“

My dad smiled, nodded at me and then spoke:“Alright, Arón Piper, congratulations.“

Arón walked over to me and stuck his hand out for me to shake it. I slowly took his hand and, okay that might sound weird, but it felt so damn good to touch him. God I sound like a creep. No but for real his hand was a lot bigger than mine and really warm compared to my -always cold- claws. „Gracias." he said quietly and stared directly into my eyes while smiling. I wanted to say something like:"Of course, you deserve it, you were amazing." but i just couldnt, i wasnt able to look anywhere but into his beautiful brown eyes.

My dad saw that and cleared his throat loudly. „Thank you again Arón, we will call you next week for further information. But for now, since Jamey is the main male protagonist and we will be filming most of the scenes with you, we'd like to invite you and the other main actors to a dinner party tomorrow night. We hope you're free and we would text you further dates later on today."

-„Yes I'm free, that'd be amazing! Thank you so much! See you tomorrow then, bye guys." He grabbed his jacket from off the floor and left the room smiling brightly.

-„We've got it! We found, first of all the perfect Jamey, and we finally have all the actors, people!" Lucy shouted and sighed relieved. „Alright then, lets celebrate!" My dad exclaimed happily and the others stood up after him. „I'll be right out, I'll go to the bathroom real quick." I informed the guys and just simply hit the bathroom next to the audition room. When i checked back to see if the room had been locked, I noticed that a portfolio book was left on the table. I grabbed it, opened it and and noticed it was Arón's.

Right, he grabbed it before, then shook our hands and put it down again. Then he walked out without it.

So I quickly locked the door and ran through the building, past my dad saying:"Be right back." I figured, Arón couldnt have gotten very far, so I sprinted down the stairs, out of the front door of the building and i looked around if I might spot him. I then saw a guy that looked like him walking down the street towards a silver car and i ran as fast as i could to reach him.

„Arón!" I yelled and stopped once I finally reached him. „Yeah?" he was about to get in the car but turned around. „You forgot that." I passed him his book and tried to catch my breath real quick. „Oh god, thank you! I totally forgot about that. Gracias." He took it smiling.

While I was trying to breath, he opened the car door and said:"Just a second." Me, still dying from all the running, I was now leaning against a wall. „You okay?" -„Huh? Yeah. Im.. good." I was kind of embarrassed at how unathletic i was. „U sure?" he came closer and looked actually quite concerned. „Ya dont worry. Uhm.. See you.. tomorrow..at the.. party?" i tried to play it off and stood straight again Arón smiled again and answered:"Of course. Cant wait!" He then walked back to the car and sent me another smile before getting in.

Damn, this guy.

I have an obsession for goats but I also have an obsession for dogs… But if I absolutely need to pick one it’ll have to be dogs. I’ve always wanted one since I was a kid and I squeal every time I see them on the streets. I personally love corgis but yes, dogs are my fave. 2) Do you watch YouTube or Netflix more? Lol I don’t have a Netflix so it’s obviously YouTube. Plus YouTube’s got the weird videos I love stumbling upon. 3) Do you like horror movies? Nope. Lol not at all. I absolutely hate anything that deals with horror. Horror movies, stories, rumors, anything. I cannot handle it. 4) Which fictional character is your favourite and/or which one do you relate to the most? Akashi Seijuro is hands down my favorite and will always be my favorite. I love that boy with all my heart that if he popped out of my screen I would not hesitate to marry him on the spot. While some may have been afraid of him or on the fence about him in the beginning of KnB, I have been in love since the start lol. I have a thing for redheaded anime boys but he just takes it all home. As for the character I relate to the most, I want to say Hinata Shoyo. One, I’m basically as small or smaller than him, and two, I always get teased about it like he does lol. I also play tennis ans like volleyball, the taller you are, the more of an advantage you have. So someone who’s as tiny as me has to work twice as hard to keep up with them, just like Hinata. 5) When you dream, do people you know show up in those dreams? Always. In fact, anytime I do dream someone I know shows up almost every single time. 6) Do you like taking baths? Actually, not really lol. I just don’t like sitting butt naked lol. 7) Milkshakes or Ice cream? Ice cream. I like milk shakes, but it’s so annoying having to wait a bit for it to melt before it can go through the straw lol. Ice cream’s easier it’s just scoop and eat. 8) Favourite food? OH BOY THIS IS TOUGH. Can I just say anything, and I mean ANYTHING Japanese. I love love love Japanese food. Absolutely beautiful in flavor and texture. If I have to choose one dish, then it’s going to have to be ramen. But not just any ramen. Hands down my favorite is the ramen from the restaurant called Ichiran. I had it in Shibuya when I was in Japan and it was honestly the best ramen I’ve ever had. I miss it so much. 9) Do you have/want tatoos? And what was your first/what do you want to get first? I have no tattoos and I don’t really want any lol. I don’t like the fact that it’ll probably hurt to get one, so I’d just avoid the whole thing altogether. 10) If could have any superpower, what would it be? I’m going to have to go with Telekinesis. Reading people’s minds and using your mind to control objects and stuff seems so cool. Telepathy is cool too, and I’m kinda convinced that comes with Telekinesis? What do I get with Telekinesis lol? 11) If you were given the opportunity to go to space, would you? If it’s just go up to see the earth then back, yes. If not, then nah lmao. 12) Happiest memory? The entire week I was in Japan lol. I fucking love that place and I’ve never been so happy when I was there. I fell in love with Tokyo and Japan and I just want to go back as soon as possible. 13) Favourite song? I really don’t have one right now oops. But whenever “Despacito” comes on the radio I blast that cuz I love the tune lol. I’m a basic American. 14) Favourite scent? The smell of food cooking because I’m a self proclaimed foodie and just such a fatass for food lol I love food. 15) If you could have any animal on the planet as a pet, what would you choose? A fucking corgi puppy cuz I’ve been asking for a dog ever since I was five lol. I’ve been waiting for years, might as well get it as a pet before moving on to other animals. 16) Favourite feature about yourself? My hair, probably. According to my friends, it looks good both long and short. And it’s always so soft and silky and it’s naturally straight. And it blocks one of my eyebrows when I let it down so if I screw up no one sees it lol. 17) Have you been to a concert, if so which one? If not, which would you like to see? AHA YES. I’ve seen Bruno Mars, B.A.P., VIXX (SCREAMS CUZ THEY’RE MY FAVE KPOP GROUP) and BTS. So American, KPOP, KPOP, KPOP. My friends are trying to get me to go to Lollapalooza this year but idk 18) Favorite fruit? Strawberries. As long as they’re actually sweet cuz they taste good with chocolate, whipped cream or just by themselves. 19) Favourite colour? Damn this is another hard one. I really am loving pastel pink lately since it’s such a nice color to wear, but as an all time fave it’s going to have to be white. White means purity and cleanliness and it’s always beautiful as a dress. And white goes with basically everything, so from a fashion stand point it’s a must. Not to mention my wardrobe has a lot of white sooo… 20) What do you like to do to relax? I usually just sit back and watch anime or read fanfics or manga lol. I also write fanfics, but I’ve had a 3-month long writer’s block so clearly we can all see how that’s going. Playing tennis can also be a good stress reliever and since I’m playing it in college, it served as both practice and relieving me of stress. 21) Do you like anime? Anime is all I ever watch so uhh… Yes I fucking love anime. I can honestly only cry from anime. Anything on T.V. or in the movies I can’t cry. But if it’s anime and it’s sad I’m sobbing like a baby, oh god. 22) Proudest moment? My proudest moment would have to be winning the championship at one of my tennis tournaments during my senior year of highschool. We were down in Springfield and my partner and I were in the doubles championship against this team. And it was so goddamn frustrating because these girls kept cheating like no fucking other because they couldn’t return the balls that hit close to the baseline, so they’d just call them out when our balls were clearly in the lines. So when we asked for a line judge, their parents started bad talking us and saying how we’re rich kids who can afford line judges, which is not true at all. None of us are rich. And it’s not difficult to ask a random dude to stand there and make sure no one’s cheating. But long story short, we won in three sets and it was so satisfying because we ended up having to deal with them ourselves and we did. Plus both my partner and I were pretty weak mentally and would get frustrated easily, so you can imagine how pissed we were. But thankfully we picked ourselves back up and bam. Won. I've been trying to read the whole vc series, but school and work just keep preventing me from getting really far! Is it ok to ask you to write a little summary for each book so I can catch up with the fandom until I have the time to read them all thoroughly?

Yeah, I understand, time is limited :P

I don’t know that summarizing VC will allow you to “catch up” with the fandom, you really only need to read the first 3 books and the Vampire Armand to get most of the jokes on tumblr, bc most of the jokes seem to center around:

Louis being a pyromaniac,

Lestat being an obnoxious but somehow lovable glittery murder machine,

Lestat and Louis being awesome and shitty murder dads,

Claudia being an ungrateful spoiled brat,

Armand being a little brat, or a slut, or an evul coven master, or all of the above,

Daniel Molloy just wanting to vampire plz!!!11!,

Marius being a pedo, or too bossy, or both,

Gabrielle is a bad mom and an ice queen,

Nicolas is spelled NICOLAS and he is NOT DEAD!,

Secondary characters not getting enough love from anyone!!

There are often spoilers in summaries tho, do you really want to be spoiled? I LOVE being spoiled.

We have these unreliable narrators, there is a lot of disagreement as to what canon really is, and some fans choose to ignore parts of (or entire books) in the series. We bring our own experiences to the reading, and we choose what to connect with, so I think we can agree on some things about each book, but you will probably get a different summary from any given reader. Even AR has told us to disregard the hybrid Mayfair/VC books (Blood Canticle, possibly Merrick and Blackwood Farm) when moving onto the more recent VC additions (PL and PLROA). So, for example, I have a friend who has only read the first 3 books. She doesn’t even know what happens after that bc she prefers to think it ended after QOTD. So any new vampires made after QOTD do not exist to her. #Your headcanon may vary.

Anyway, you want summaries.

Gonna try to do a little summary for each VC under the cut as a personal challenge.

Spoilers ahead! I’ll try to do this with as few spoilers as possible, as factually as possible.

1. Interview with the Vampire - Louis tells the story of his life and unlife to Daniel Molloy. Louis starts at the point in his mortal life just before he meets Lestat, and how his life up until that meeting influenced the unlife that followed after he became a vampire. Lestat’s reasons for choosing Louis are unclear to Louis, but he wants Louis to choose to be a vampire. Louis is under so much duress (failing health, still in emotional distress over his guilt re: a close family member’s death) that the choice is not 100% legit, Lestat can’t wait for a more opportune time and proceeds to turn Louis anyway.

The whole story could be seen as Anne Rice’s exploration of the role of religion and the reasons why terrible things happen to innocent people, the concept of punishment.

For me, it was also eye-opening bc I was 11 when I read it and it introduced the possibility of love between a same-sex couple, even if that was in more of a read-between-the-lines way.

It also has a child vampire and I hadn’t seen any media even attempt to tell a story with a child vampire before. Few media that attempt it seem to have captured the beauty and tragedy of such a creature as in this story, and she reappears in a few of the other VC. Unreliable Narrator thing that continues throughout the series.

^ok that was too long, I’m going for shorter.

2. The Vampire Lestat - Lestat seeks to “correct the record” that Louis laid out in IWTV by giving us his own backstory, starting at his mortal youth and how that influenced the unlife that followed when he became a vampire, against his will (hence the “I’m going to give you the choice I never had,” line from movie!IWTV). There is more exploration in the role of religion and reasons why bad things happen to basically innocent people, and whether you really can make the best of a shitty situation or just give up. More about punishment. A very unique take on the origin of the vampires as a species is revealed. And the reasons why Lestat behaved the way he did (basically all secretive) in IWTV. Unreliable Narrator thing that continues throughout the series, who are we to believe? Lestat or Louis? And the author’s retconning which is perceived as “making excuses later in canon for behavior that’s already happened.” Some readers really despise this. Personally, I like having the options and trusting one version of events, or none of them.

3. The Queen of the Damned - Lestat’s modern-era rock career wakes the Queen of the Vampires and she has this awesome Radical Feminist idea for world peace. She’s already gotten started on it! She upgrades Lestat physically so that he can help her accomplish her goals, but he’s not really on board. They meet with the vampires she has allowed to survive her purge and it doesn’t go very well. Also in this book, we have different narrators, more about the vampire origin story, and the Armand/Daniel ship is sailing at its best here.

4. The Tale of the Body Thief - Having suffered so much through the past 3 books, Lestat is a suicidal hamburger-brained moron and makes some very bad choices. Despite everyone advising him NOT to, Lestat makes a terrible trade with a body thief and learns quickly that he had idealized being human. He does some horrendous stuff, and wants off the Being Human ride. He has one friend who helps him set things back to the way they should be, and then he betrays that friend in a spectacularly cruel way. More importantly, Lestat also gets a wonderful cuddly doggo.

5. Memnoch the Devil - Lestat Goes to Heaven and Hell, meets Jesus Christ, meets God, meets Satan (who prefers to go by “Memnoch”) it’s all a huge interview process to decide if Lestat might work for God or Satan and it’s basically fanfic of the Bible. Some people hated it for those reasons. I found it really intriguing, bc it presents a reason why God created the earth, and why there’s suffering, why God allows suffering to go on, and where religion comes from. Like Lestat, Memnoch says he’s not the antagonist, but really the good guy in all this. When Dorothy gets back to Kansas Lestat returns to earth, there is disagreement about whether he went on a real trip or he was just fooled by a really talented spirit. Lestat is so confused that he throws a huge tantrum and then gets solitary confinement, then slips into a coma.

6. The Vampire Armand - Armand gets his spotlight and gets to really tell his story, do we believe everything he tells us? Lots of good Italy times stuff. Armand visits Lestat in his coma-state, and talks about that, too.

7. Merrick - Merrick is a Mayfair witch in NOLA who bewitches Louis in pursuit of his request for closure with Claudia, and hilarity ensues. Louis gets the most screentime he’s had since IWTV, but the whole book is told from a 3rd wheel’s POV, it would have been so much better from Louis’ or Merrick’s POV. Major fatal thing happens but fortunately Lestat wakes up from his coma in time to save the day.

8. Blood and Gold - Marius tells his story, as does the vampire Thorne tell his own story. Marius talks about his artistic influences and his experience with the early Talamasca and Santino and the Children of Satan. We see Daniel (now living with Marius) under a kind of spell, which Marius says is temporary.

9. Blackwood Farm - Lestat goes to the Deep South and hears the story of vampire Quinn (his story defies summary) and, with Merrick’s help, saves the day.

10. Blood Canticle - More vampire and Mayfair mixing. And Taltos. It’s a very big WTF book. But it has some very funny scenes and lines in it. It ends with Lestat promising the Dark Gift to someone.

11. Prince Lestat - Vampire scientists. A clone. Someone gets kidnapped. Ultimate Vampire Coven Gathering. Lestat is cranky, saves the day anyway. Ghosts apparently can linger on earth after death and make bodies for themselves. Characters from past books reappear. New characters are introduced. Louis writes a chapter about how OK fine, he does love Lestat. FINE.

12. Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis - I haven’t finished this but basically… the REAL vampire origin story, and it involves bird-like aliens, who were sent to earth bc the aliens feed on the suffering of mortals. The bird-like aliens didnt want to create Atlantis. in fact they were pissed because this one creature of theirs, Amel, made Atlantis with the Luracastria (i dunno i think thats how it’s spelled) and their viewing tech couldn’t see through the material. Amel made Atlantis to spite the bird-like aliens omg i cant believe im typing this. Louis and Lestat finally have some legit canon cuddletimes.

- Pandora - the story of the vampire Pandora, and why Marius is bad at relationships. Lots of good Roman times stuff.

- Vittorio - is not a VC vampire, and wants nothing to do with that dysfunctional pile of fanged crazies. @monstersinthecosmos and @vittoriathevampire could give you a better summary of that one, since I didn’t absorb it too well :P
