we! deserve! a wta! laver! cup!

i mean, just look at the wta rankings. a wta laver cup would be a lot more competitive and balanced and fun than the atp version and it would also be grounds for a bunch of great player interactions that we deserve, so i'll be going over teams :)

graf cup is named after legend steffi graf, one of three singles players in the open era to win a calendar year grand slam. the other two are rod laver, who the laver cup is named for, and margaret court, a bigot. it will be held in berlin at uber arena, same location as the atp version. yk, if this was real.

SJM has had multiple opportunities to start setting up Elain. Instead, she kept her away from the crossover entirely. She could've hinted that Elain Saw Bryce coming. She could've been there when Bryce landed. She could've been present, even in mentions, if not in scenes, in HOFAS. Nothing. Bupkas. So whatever. SJM and BB have themselves to blame if the book bombs.

Honestly yeah. This is so true because I remember very well how Nesta was made to be prominent even at the cost of the actual protagonist in acowar. Like feyre was just a camera watching what nesta was doing by the end and then acofas very clearly set her up as the next mc despite all the hate for her and it worked out in the end didn't it? Despite all the Nesta hate people were still prepared that she'll be the next prominent character and they've accepted that now. Meanwhile with Elain she's so.... idk strange about her. The September interview a fan asked about elain and the way SJM said her name it felt as if it pained her to say it. Like the constant sidelining of her feels very intentional and atp stupid. I get it with Elain there's the thing of ships but nobody's asking to confirm the ship just at least treat Elain like a character the way she treated everyone else? Once she's announced as the MC antis will do too much and it'll be nobody but SJM's own fault.

Yeah, that's exactly my point.

She has been so stupidly secretive or something about Elain that I dont know what to make of it.

Like if she doesnt want to write a book about her, and Elain doesn't 'speak' to her, then that's fine. It's her right as a writer not to write something she isn't feeling. But I wish she'd just say it, and we can all move on.

If we find out that the next book isn't Elain's then I'll happily GTFO of the fandom and go on my merry way. But to this moment, I dont get why she can't just fucking SAY IT and be done with it. Hey anon!!! This season, I'm watching Kaiju No. 8! In my heart, I'm always a shonen-seinen girlie and the first two episodes look very promising! It's what I've been looking for in anime for a while- protagonists that are actual adults who still get to go on adventures. Also there's a badass female lead whose entrance was her with a giant gun blowing up a kaiju accompanied by a badass white tiger. All it really takes for me to watch or read a thing is women who can or will try to beat up god.

I'm on the last episode of Bang Brave Bang Bravern, it has everything I love; giant mechs, punching, weird plot, homoerotic tension (it's not even tension, they admit they love each other romantically and have a beach date). So I'm watching that!

I've read the manga for "Tadaima, Okaeri" like, years ago, and I think my BL phase is winding down now so I don't think I'll be checking it out but I do remember really enjoying the manga, I think I re-read it twice! Very cute.

I used to catch up on Black Butler like when I was a teenager and really enjoyed it. I'm used to anime fandoms atp. If someone wants to ship SebaCiel, go ahead, live free! They're lines on a page and as long as the content is tagged right, people can curate their experience. Idk if I will be watching, though the animation looks GORGEOUS. Sebastian and Ciel's relationship is very interesting just, as it is,even without the romance and shipping (and I vaguely recall that I started shipping Sebastian with this other guy who was friend of Ciel's dad. It was a flashback arc, god I wish I remembered the guy's name ugh).

I think I might check out Wind Breaker???? I heard it's about a bunch of school kids fighting.....and that's it. I wasn't really that intrigued because the plot seemed non-existent, but now I'm wondering if the characters can carry the show with just their dynamics. Is this like a sports-anime in terms of plot structure? I'm interested.

Ah yeah, I heard that Bucchigiri turned out to be a complete disappointment on KrisPNatz's youtube channel. Unfortunate af. But Wind Breaker still exists so yay!

empires S1 - I don't think their characters interact that much but god I wish they had more because their dynamic could be so interesting to me. i've been thinking about S1 gem a lot recently and how weird a character she is and i think it would have made sense for her to be close with shubble because of her whole Last of her kind deal, PLUS her knowledge of the corruption.. gem to me is very much a researcher and scholar and i think they could have started a weird Thing that neither of them are really sure of what it is (shrub is a few years younger and has never been in a relationship, while gem isn't really sure if she even has feelings for shrub at all..) I'd like to believe they reunited some years after the rapture and end up living somewhat happily 💙 sorry nature wives fans ilike it too especially in S2 but this one just makes sense to me

Icy cold take here (actually I dunno) but a lot of Indian movies are q bad cause they are either “oo look at this couple and how they fall in love” or “oo look at MC, isn’t he the coolest?” And honestly I like movies that aren’t necessarily focused on the romance at all, but aren’t just “the trials and tribulations of this one guy”

no because you're so right 😔💔 i get that too! i wish there were more movies about female characters that weren't ott-exclusive/direct to streaming services yk? and even the mainstream female-oriented movies that we already have are marketed as such (which causes the general public to lose interest in it because "it's about women and feminism is cancer *goes to the movies to watch the most generic action-thriller starring salman khan and an actress 20 years his junior for the third time this week*)

but that isn't even my only grudge actually?? bollywood movies are primarily romance movies but even then— EVEN THEN!! i don't think I can name a single movie that made me swoon or made me feel giggly and happy on the inside 💔 i have never "shipped" an on-screen couple in a bollywood movie etc. because the movies just?? aren't good. i don't like the way it portrays romance as physical attraction (especially on the male characters part) and shows him needlessly objectifying women. it's sad, it's tired, it's exploitative, it's male-gazey, it's everything that is wrong with this world 💞 /gen now i'm not gonna sit here and tell you what a good romance movie makes (because I... and that last point is so important to me btw. i just wish we had more movies trying to tell STORIES rather than LOVE stories, like yeah an occasional rom-com is fun and i'm not saying we should give it up completely but it gets tiring when literally every movie is a rom-com. action-rom-com? drama-rom-com????? yes we've got it 😔💔 it's v funny becajse most of my (and most people ik!!!!) favorite movies weren't romance at all 😧 spirited away is the best movie ever made (#hakukisser4lyf) because it had a compelling story set in a beautiful world with fun characters.

it's honestly just pretty clear to me atp is that bollywood just doesn't care about giving us good stories. your best bet is south indian movies and indie stuff.

so yeah anyways i don't watch Bollywood anymore.

See when jm went to nyc during GMA the fandom thought he's going for his work so no one made a big deal out of it as they did for lolla and yg's concert (it's also because they never talk about jkk unless it's something they can get benefit off of) so nothing to worry about fans speculating jkk working together in nyc for some vlog or anything. So when the interviewer asked jk that she heard jimin's in town too jungkook could have simply said "oh yes he is i met him for a dinner" or something like it's nothing sus or anything at all anyone could have said this like any other member too but jk didn't say anything he was like "yes in new york" or something.

See i for a fact know that jungkook actually never mentions which member he met like he hardly ever does that. Like he didn't mention tae when we all know they hanging out alot than before, even for the movie premiere he said "yeah i went to the movie premiere,the movie was and we should watch it" like no mention of tae or his frnd or IU or anyone at all, then he went to IU's concert two times in row once with hobi other is him alone but he never said that neither hobi posted their pic. He met RM at the after party rm posted pictures but jk never said anything. Like he never mentions who he met or stuff like that.

Kind of same with jm although he does mentions here nd there but still not as much like other members.

It's been days but they never acknowledged nyc (i know the content is coming so might give surprise but honestly atp even if the tell us the surprise is still gonna big for us even if it's a small vlog of them so idk why they want to keep it secret.

They spend cheosk with family nd eachother but they won't say that like idk they could sompl say we met in busan but no it's like it kills them to tell us those things.

Same thing with jm going boxing at same boxing coach as jk but they never explicitly said it. It's just jk in the bg of his live talking with his coach saying he'll come with jm which was translated by only jkkr as it was in the back. Jk did say jm was going to start boxing that one time in live but till now they never acknowledged this whileas even tae talked more about him learning something of boxing from jk.

Like i don't get why are jkk like this... We also wouldn't have known jm meeting jk at his home for his birthday last yr if it wasn't for jin asking...

I don't have any answers to this. Maybe JK simply doesn't want to feed any ships and that is why he isn't mentioning any names. But idk what's going with JM. He used to be very vocal about spending his time with his precious JK and up until recently he was as quiet, as a mummy. Maybe the hate he hss been receiving got too much for him. Tkkrs and jkkrs don't direct their hate towards Jungkook when an interaction happens, it's nearly always redirected toward Tae or JM because both tkkrs and jkkrs LIKE Jungkook.

I think that if anything the "opposing sides/love triangle" shipping that jkkrs and tkkrs do means that they try to rationalize everything Jungkook does. Again, the meanest thing they'll say about him that he's actually deliberately uncaring or cold to JM/Tae (depending on who's talking ofcourse)

Apart from rationalizing, "All shippers are secretly Tae or Jimin stans who want Jungkook as a prize" is the type of unironic accusations I was talking about.
