DEMO UPDATE:

30k words (including code) of new content have been added, as well as the entirety of Chapter Two. That brings the total word count to 64k. Enjoy!

I’ve changed some of the stats and would highly recommend starting a new game as I don’t think it will run properly with the old variables. 

Introduction:

Run Cried the Crawling is a text based twine game set in a world in which humanity inhabits giant trees. This interactive fiction follows you, the heir of Tree Ledici, as you are tasked with completing a pilgrimage to legitimize your claim to your father’s Duchy.

To become the next ruler you must complete the Path, venturing into the darkness below the branches to forge a connection with the mysterious gods that inhabit the ground. You are accompanied by an entourage tasked with your protection, but can you really trust them?

During your journey you’ll discover that everyone has secrets, including the Duchy you’re fighting to keep.

Fight otherworldly monsters, speak to the gods, build relationships with your companions and find out the truth beneath the leaves.

lys accepts help readily enough. he grew up in a druidic clan that stressed the importance of each piece within the whole. if you needed help, it was important that you ask for it, because everyone had a role to play. one slip up could disrupt the natural order of things, and so everyone was raised to readily give and accept help as needed.

EOWYN

eowyn is very proud; as a noble she spent countless hours at court and any noticeable weakness brought them circling eowyn like sharks to blood. she is not at all used to asking for help and much prefers to solve things on her own. eowyn would very much take offense to someone helping her without having asked for said help, and is likely to snap at someone who just pushes their way in to help.

HOLLIS

hollis exists somewhere between lys and eowyn - they do not often ask for help, and find more satisfaction having solved a problem on their own, but if truly stumped, hollis would ask for assistance. their dislike of asking for help does not stem from being a noble (like eowyn) but from events in their past that had unfortunate consequences.

Battle Eldritch Horrors in Fastigium: The Dead End

Zombies are everyone’s favourite bullet-catchers, and they do indeed feature in Fastigium: Dead End, but that is not the only horror to face the player in this virtual reality FPS.

Ifgames Studio have launched Fastigium: Dead End on to Steam with three large maps containing a host of monsters. Not just zombies, but huge, horrifying Lovecraftian abominations that loom as large as skyscrapers. The player has twin shotguns and must fight their way through those horrors in order to find a way out.

Exploration is key, the maps are extremely large and contain many secrets to discover, though the further out the player ventures from the starting area, the more deadly and horrifying the monsters become.

The current iteration of Fastigium: Dead End is actually the second edition of the game. The current version support the HTC Vive, though it is not currently known if support for other VR platforms is planned to be included later.

The videogame is available on Steam for £3.99 (GBP). Further details and updates can be found on the official Steam page.
