What's so interesting about her looking through Good!Marinette's room, is that it's actually purely coincidental that they ended up in Marinette's bedroom at all. In fact, if Alya had been anywhere else, that's where the portal would have shown up.

We later see in the special that the Marinette in the other universe actually lives in the bakery, so there's little chance she didn't recognize her home/room.

I wonder if it was an excuse to save face in front of claw noir. If she pretended that she was looking for clues, she didn't have to tell him she was desperate to know if this version of herself had a better life, desperate to find out if there's some version of her that doesn't have to suffer constantly.

Bad!Marinette went through Good!Marinette's room, her things, her diary, not because she was figuring out why they were sent there, she was looking for clues as to why she was good and what exactly it was that made this Marinette happy.
