hello there!!! thank you so much for your kind words, it really means a lot to me to know you like my edits 💙

- to crop the scenes and work with smaller files I use HandBrake (don't really know the version but I think they are pretty much the same??)

- for the edits I use Photoshop 2022 with the timeline option, but I used Cs5 and Cs6 for YEARS so they work just as fine, also for a long time I used to take screencaps and use the load files into stack. Nowadays I prefer the first option as it takes less steps, time and space, but it's really up to your taste

- sometimes I use my Wacom pen tablet to add some small details such as brush strokes, add coloring to specific areas, some effects and it also helps me with cropping pics

- as for actions I use this or this to sharpen my gifs

- I make my own coloring psds so it really depends on the edit I'm working on, I don't have any faves but you can check my resources & tips tag so you can have an idea of my process

- for typography I search and download the ones I like the most from DaFont or Font Squirrel

rambly thoughts on psd 20

i like the way the story is going, i love whatever scary shit is happening on the moon, that crew is delighting me i love what's happening.

on a personal level i think it sucks that keith is sick of phrygian and actively trying to get rid of them bc idk if i like how that impacts the story, but conversely i know exactly how badly it impacts the story to be playing a pc you dont want to be anymore, so i come out sad and kind of feeling shitty but ultimately hopeful it will work out. i hope he gets a new pc. i know its unlikely but it doesnt make sense to me to have leap back and also to be with Blue Channel, under Brnine and Gucci.

Overall the stakes and the fear are working for me. I LOVE the sequence of trying to sneak to the Stellar Combustor, Plight, the heat conductors getting fucked…like just on a story level, these stakes and the way theyre going about it delight me. im excited to see how it works. i know its basically certain that with the soldier move they succeed and phrygian dies, but i think knowing that doesnt detract from the journey of getting there, for me. i get why it would for others, but ive always been more about the journey, which so far rules. Especially in RPGs, in which the narrative and mechanics necessarily feed into each other. Seeing the bones and wires is my favourite part of actual play.

however i do think the gathering information in which keith said he was trying to ditch phrydge and bring back leap is the kind of spoiler that makes things worse for me. but other than my feelings about phrygian, im a big fan of how this is playing out

forgot the question i asked in regards to coloring, how many seconds would you recommend for frame delay? this yt tutorial is advising me to use 0.07 but it’s not running smoothly as i want it to be.

we all color our gifsets from scratch, and generally do not keep the psd files after, so i can't provide you that, no. here is a tutorial that goes over all the gifmaking basics, including coloring & gif speed (it's 0.05 btw). hope that helps!

okay so i've gotten a request for a tutorial for this edit of nico di angelo, and i'll try to do my best to explain this in an easy way. first off, you'll need photoshop installed, it probably doesnt matter which you have, but i have the cs6. also it is preferrable that you know the basics of photoshop as well (cropping, how to use the brush tool, how to apply a layer mask and an adjustment layer etc). tutorial under the cut!

here are the links to the extra stuff you’ll need: stuff to use disclaimer: the psds are NOT mine. they are from @/allscallie and @/agallerrie

i also wanna say that i probably spend hours searching for images on pinterest before settling on anything or before i get inspiration. so this tutorial may seem quick and easy but it really is a *process* sfkdsfk, and i spend several hours on every edit i make.

okay so, to the actual editing: first i crop it to 540 x 540. i probably could have had other dimensions as well, but these were the ones i ended up with. i probably tried out a lot of different textures before settling on the ones i did, but again, these were the ones i ended up with and thought fit the edit and nico's character.

i put on the psds i've chosen, dirty peach on the bottom and caramelo on top of that.

below the psds i add texture 1, put it on multiply and add a layer mask.

select the layer mask, choose black coloring and brush over the top of the texture, so that the sharp edge dissappears.

i didn’t like that the floor in the picture showed, so i added a new layer and painted black over it. it’s not necessary too detailed with the black, we will add a level adjustment layer next!

to add a level adjustment layer you go to this:

and use these settings for it:

i felt that i wanted some more color in the edit, and tried to find a texture i felt fit. i ended up with texture 2. add this to the edit, and put it below the levels layer. where we put the previous texture on multiply, we’re gonna put this texture on lighten and place it in this area:

ive also added a filter to it as you can see. this is the oil paint filter that you find here:

the exact settings for it i dont remember but it probably was something like this:

i dont want the flowers to go above the guy in the picture, so i put a layer mask on the layer, and use the brush tool to paint black over the shape of him.

so now the edit looks like this:

im a BIG fan of the next texture we’re gonna use, texture 3. i use this very often in my edits. this we’re gonna put above the levels layer, and put it to color burn. make sure its the ‘light’ part of the texture thats in the edit, and not the ‘red-ish’ part.

i also wanted to see how it would look if the edit looked more smooth, so i wanted to test the oil paint-filter on our ‘main’-picture, the bottom one with the skulls. so i duplicate that layer, and use the same settings as the flower layer on this duplicated layer. then set the duplicated layer’s opacity to 49%.

it’s not a huge difference from how it was, but the road to success is in the details, isn’t that what they say?

now to the fun part or the difficult part, the texttttt. i scoured goodreads for quotes to use, but knew i wanted to have ‘son of hades’ in the edit, and tried to find a fitting quote. i ended up with “you will suffer, son of hades” “what else is new”.

these are the settings i used for the “son of hades” text:

to get it in the middle of the picture, press ctrl + a, go to layer > align layers to selection > vertical centers and layer > align layers to selection > horizontal centers.

now i want to have the “you will suffer” text above “son of hades”. these are the settings i used for that:

i place this one in the middle of the picture as well, in the same way as the previous.

now i want the text to be more visible, so i put a black rectangle behind the text:

place this in the middle as well.

i want it to look like the rectangle moves through the big letters, so i put a layer mask on the ‘son of hades’ layer, and use the brush tool to paint over the parts of the letters i want to be behind the rectangle. i also move the ‘you will suffer’ text layer below the ‘son of hades’ layer.

then i select these three layers (hold ctrl and click on each), and place them in a group (ctrl + g). put a layer mask on the group and paint over the part of the ‘F’ that is on top of the head to make it look like it goes behind it. and then the text is done!

i wanted to do something extra for the edit, so decided to paint some dots as well. add a new layer, select the brush tool, color to white (#ffffff) and set the size to 1px.

i decided to make nico a crown and also added three dots at each ‘S’

the last thing we’re gonna do for this edit is add three rectangles on the bottom of the edit.

rotate it 45 degrees, and place one in each corner and one in the middle bottom. and now the first pic is done!! woho!!!

now we’re gonna move on to the next part of the edit. open the second picture.

crop it to 540x540 as the first picture.

this part takes a little less work, because we already have a lot of what we’re gonna use. Select these layers from the previous picture.

and drag them over in the picture you just opened. click the eye on each layer to make them invisible for now, but keep the psd layers, ‘layer 1’ and ‘layer 3’ visible.

First we will work on the flower layer. Make this visible as well and put it on opacity 20%. On the layer mask paint over the face with a black brush as well.

I want a little different color in the edit, to match the first one better, so i add a color fill adjustment layer:

Put the layer to soft light, and above ‘layer 3’. Now it’s almost only the text left and the extra details!

make the ‘son of hades’ layer visible and delete the layer mask. Change the text to “what else is new”, with a break after “else”. Make sure it has these settings.

Then make the “you will suffer” layer visible and write nico thought. Place it right below “is new” and with these settings:

Make the three white rectangles visible again and place them at the top this time, instead of at the bottom.

Only one thing left!! Add a new layer, choose the brush tool, white color and size 1px and paint a dot under each letter of “nico thought” and tadaaaaaa!!!! We. Are. Finished.

IMPORTANT: this tutorial is meant as a help to understand how you can make creations, not as a means to copy others’ style. so please dont copy this edit, but take inspiration from it and i also hope you learned something new!!

my experience with addy / hiqey

i’ve contemplated posting my history with addy/hiqey for awhile now. my friends have encouraged me to do so, but due to her stance in the rpc i was always far too scared to do so. with all that is coming to light with her recently, not only is a huge weight off my shoulders as far as comfortably roleplaying as my escape, but knowing i’m not alone. my story with addy dates back to about september 2018. i do warn you this will be long, and i’ll try to include enough details to make it make sense while not dragging things on and on. this includes both my personal relationship with addy, as well as my experience with her in groups one where she she was an admin, and groups where i was an admin. as well as i believe we coadmined one together. i’ve put screenshots where i could, but some of this dates back to 2018 and i just don’t have access to those texts/rp accounts anymore.

a huge huge shout out to @bumkeyz for starting this avalanche, and for also supporting me one on one along with all my friends to feel safe enough to come forward. i’ll put all of my story under a read more.

i’m going to start this by saying, my name is mel/melanie. you may have heard of me because back when addy was on rpslayed she wasn’t a big fan of me for awhile. predominantly my group the cape(?) the main isn’t up anymore so i can’t remember the exact @. i’m 21 years old, i will be 22 this month. i am married & i have a 3 year old daughter. this is information i don’t normally tell people i’m married / have a child, because well, i just feel a little judged. not because anything anyone has specifically done or said, but my own anxieties worried that people will think it’s weird to be married with a child and still in twitter rp. but it is important to my story with addy, which is why i’m letting everyone know right off the bat.

i met addy in a group called producers. this group is from september 2018, so i’m not able to access anything right now, but am digging. i played (feel free to clown me) a g-eazy character named pierce. addy played a carlson young who’s name i can’t quite recall, and a gracie abrams named lolly. lolly & pierce became friends first & at some point we exchanged phone numbers. lolly & pierce flirted a lot, pierce was a player yada yada. eventually she ended up getting a different ship on lolly & pushed her carlson young onto pierce. pierce had a different love interest & didn’t end up going for her. this should’ve been the first negative sign/red flag. when pierce didn’t get with her character, she got very short & snarky ic and ooc. i believe both of her characters blocked me ic. even though pierce had made no ic promises to either to not be with someone else. we still maintained some level of friendship, but she was extremely weird about when i mentioned my ship. our friendship ended for a few months because of an incident that started ic between me and another character. the mun who played this character and i had bonded ooc over having been pregnant, we talked somewhat often about her dealings with her pregnancy. so i felt close enough/friendly enough with this mun that when something happened with her character & another character ic i dm’ed her to see if she was ok .long story short it went bad. i texted addy and told her that. i explained that i felt as if this mun & i were close and it was like dm’ing a friend. she held onto the fact that i shouldn’t have messaged her. when i didn’t immediately conform to her thought she kicked me out of the group. i was literally devastated. i loved that group, that character, my ship; all of it. she blocked me. though this story is 2 paragraphs long, it’s minor in the grand scheme of things. after this she smeared me on rpslayed for months until our paths crossed again in a group called glitches/glitch? we decided to squash our beef. this was december 2019.

in december 2019 we became friends again. honestly, i wish we never crossed paths. we got very close right away. she started telling me about a bad friendship she had, with someone we mutually knew from producers who i will not name since it’s not my place to put their name in this, and gained my sympathy. so much so that i ended a friendship with that person based solely on accusations that addy had told me. this is something that i can now realize i did wrong. i literally cussed this person out on the phone, solely based off things addy told me. i didn’t listen to someone who had been my friend for months, who defended me and picked me up when addy was tearing me down on rpslayed. i turned my back because addy convinced me to. she made this person seem awful. and again, i’m not naming them, but they know exactly who they are. and when thy do read this, i’m sorry.

now this is where things get out of hand. addy & i begun an intimate relationship. this is very personal, and i know some may pass judgment. but my husband was cool with it. addy also began talking to my husband, they texted. we had a groupchat. not to get into details about the relationship, but it was romantic. i am going to try and organize my thoughts. into themes.

money

this relationship lasted from about january ish to april romantically. i became addy’s crutch. she began going through personal issues with her family. and i started sending her money. to be frank i don’t remember how it started. i helped her with a job search, supporting her through these tough things that were going on. the money started casually i suppose. it was $10 for lunch. $25 for nails. but then it got worse. i bought her a phone. and slowly she grew more entitled to my money. asking for it. demanding it. guilting me when i didn’t give it. i lied to her and told her i lost my credit card and turned it off, but the guilt i had i told her that i could turn it on when she needed it. in screenshots i will post below she guilted me because i was sick and fell asleep before turning my card on. whether what she’s saying occured is true or not, it was just one example of how she made me feel. at one point she had my credit card on her uber, and charged nearly $400 of ubers on my credit card that i didn’t know about. she claimed it was an accident, because i let her put my card on her account under the agreement that she would turn it off. we had an agreement of what she would pay me back, some things that i got her were gifts and i didn’t want/need back. other things it was always an agreement she would pay me back. however whenever i would mention sending me a payment she had an excuse. one time even guilting me by reminding me how much better i have it than she does. all in all i spent / sent upwards of $2500/$3000 on her. only about $1500/$1800 i wanted back. i never saw a dime back, she never made good on her promises. at some point i gave up on asking.

ETA: as far as the uber situation goes, she did apologize and state that it was never on purpose when i found out that there was nearly $500 in charges. she said she thought she was charging her moms card. this shows a photo of 1 page of a 5 page statement of all the transactions put on my card by her in one month. there are only 6 of these transactions that were me. all of the ubers and venmo were her. i didn’t make her take off my card, which in hindsight was obviously a very bad decision. i just didn’t want to leave her stranded without ways to get home/where she needed to be.

this is her demanding money. this was in the summer. at this point i was so manipulated by her/scared of her/scared of losing her that i didn’t know how to say no. in this instance i deflected with a picture of my child. screen shot.

in the screenshots here, this is where i fell asleep. i was on vacation and got extremely dehydrated in the sun. i literally felt so sick and she made me feel guilty for falling asleep. X X X

this screenshot shows one of the times i actually asked her when she would repay me. at this point my credit card was nearly maxed out from ubers and sending her money. i was anxious about it and she made me feel bad for asking because her situation was worse than mine. this was the same day she asked me for $250 for a down payment on her car. X asking for money. X making me feel bad for asking when she’s gonna pay.

literally to this day im still in credit card debt because of this. yes i make good money, yes my husband does too. but credit card debt is hard and everyone knows it. i do fine for myself, but i don’t have hundreds extra to pay this down.

also, i cannot locate the bank screenshot. but as recent as this february, six months since she spoke to me, she still had my card on her uber and usted it again. i can’t find the screenshot of the actual of the bank transaction because i’ve completely had to close that account for fraud and transfer my balance to a new card. but here is a screenshot from february 12 where i tell my friends i caught her doing it. X .

manipulation in groups/related to groups

orbis. i ran a group called orbis, it was a reality show group. addy was one of my friends who really wanted me to open it. all of my groups i’ve adminned i’m the lead. i just always take on that roll so i do get very busy with them on top of my real life. i work full time and i’m a mom so i spread myself thin.she made me feel really guilty for this, saying i wasn’t giving her enough time, she wasn’t anyones dog. so i posted my unfollow. then she told me i was stupid for doing that. so i deleted my unfollow. then she said that me deleting my unfollow showed that i didn’t really care how she felt. screens. X X

lumeer. very similar situation to above. only this time i left the group completely for about 3 weeks. i called my coadmin crying about what she was doing to me, sent her the psds and templates for grpahics and left fully, though i helped them out if issues arose/they needed anything.

impulse. this was recently and this got brought to the tags. im going to copy & paste what i sent to bumkeyz as far as the story goes for what happened.

“ what happened in impulse is only one of several examples of addy being awful in groups i've adminned. this goes back to our friendship but specifically here's what happened in impulse. addy played a character named briar, the other characters involved were as mentioned in other posts loki & khalil (fai fc). one of he first days of the group khalil hooked up with both loki & briar. when the "updates" account posted about loki & khalil's hook up (we posted any and all plot drops that were sent in, it was a reality show so we consistently updated what the cameras caught), briar got upset on main. addy then messaged khalil's mun ooc and asked for the plot to be erased. essentially because she didn't like that khalil had hooked up with both her and another girl in the same day/same manor. as odd of a request as i was the khalil mun agreed to wipe it & asked that if there was anything that ever came up again that made addy uncomfortable to please not hesitate to dm. addy then softblocked khalil. which is strange. why soft block with briar's reason to dislike khalil has been wiped? that night addy posted on her personal tumblr hiqey "i forgot all fai khadra fcs are weirdos" or soemthing along that line. the khalil mun reasonably got uncomfortable with that, but was softblocked & didn't tell the main. they just ignored it since their characters weren't interacting now. for the next few days addy continued to shade khalil and loki on main, despite any ic reason for disliking them being wiped. loki then approached briar IN CHARACTER asking what was wrong/why she was shading/why they didn't like her. i don't know all the details of that conversation, but i know it ended with loki saying she was going to block briar & briar saying that was fine. bear in mind the admins had no idea any of this was happening at this point. addy then dmed the main, playing victim. after more shading of khalil, khalil's mun decided to block briar as well. addy despite wiping this plot and having 0 ic communication with khalil continued to shade the characters ic. so addy dmed the main playing innocent. asking for us to have them unblock, saying she had no idea why they blocked or what she did. as admins we had no idea why either, figured it was something ic so we dmed both muns. khalil's mun agreed after some hestiation, and asked if they had to follow her and i said no. they didn't elaborate. loki's mun however refused, & i'm glad she did because she told us what was going on. of course once we were told everyting we didn't make her unblock. up until we told addy that we were not going to make those muns unblock her, she was extremely sweet to us. she praised us on her rpt. said she loved the group. fed the main compliments. but when she didn't get her way out of us, and was essentially told on, she started causing issues on the timeline with different characters. she sent us a dm on the main telling us to "learn how to handle your group melanie" and deactivated before i could get a chance to reply. “

what i didn’t tell bumkeyz is that deejay/rpslayed played khalil. another example of addy’s manipulation is that when she saw deejay getting anons she followed deejay and texted her after several months of no communication, starting to tell her side of the story and play innocent -- not knowing that deejay was the person who was behind khalil the entire time. she made khalil out to be the bad guy, not knowing that it was deejay. after finding out deejay and i were friends, when deejay posted on rpslayed for people to follow me shortly after trying to get deejay on her side, addy blocked us both (again).

manipulation between friends (?)

i don’t really know a great way to title this, but this is similar to the situation i mentioned with the unnamed person above -- how addy made me think that person was the worst so i would stop being friends with them. this is a few more examples of that.

the entire time i was friends with addy, she told me that deejay hated me. she told me that deejay was convinced that i was this person who tried to get her kicked out of a group. she told me that she did her very best to convince deejay that it wasn’t true, but no matter what she did deejay just hated me. nearly a year later deejay and i cross paths in a group. we started talking ooc and i mentioned this. i asked her why she thought that was me. we found out that basically, while addy was telling me she was trying to convince deejay it wasn’t me, she was telling deejay that it was me. she would also tell me personal information about deejay that i had no business knowing, whether it be real life information or just telling me the groups deejay adminned when she knew deejay didn’t want anyone knowing.

i have found out recently that addy has recently been telling people a lie about when she came to visit me. on one evening when she visited me in june of 2019, we went to my friend’s house. we both drank, and smoked. i am someone who neither drinks nor smokes, and i got a very bad mix from it. my anxiety sky rocketed. i was crying on my friends couch practically paralyzed. i didn’t want to move. i felt sick. i felt scared. my friends were going to drive us back to my house and shortly before we were about to walk out addy said she needed to go to the hospital. my friend’s boyfriend drove her there, and when he came back they took me home. this night is very blurry for me. i remember barely being able to see straight, my friend helped me walk to and from the car. addy has told her friends that i refused to pick her up from the hospital that night, and i’ve now heard this from two of her close friends. when in reality, i was so far gone that not only was i sick and scared, but i couldn’t see straight. i had absolutely no ability to be behind a wheel. i’m not surprised she twisted this against me.

i provided a few people screenshots where addy was telling me to block them/trying to convince me that they were awful and hurting me. at the same time that addy was telling me this, she was doing the opposite to them -- to keep us apart. i believe this is some sort of power. always wanting to be everyones number one.

i don’t have a lot of screenshots for this, so i won’t go into much detail, but i can say on more than one occasion, or more than five or ten she told me who to and not to be friends with. told me to block people who had been our friends who were no longer friends with her.

flat out manipulation.

i don’t want to go back through my texts too much honestly. it’s still a sore spot. it still sucks and it still hurts. but i think anyone and everyone involved with addy at some point or another has similar stories about the way she treats her friends. there were points where i begged. begged and begged her not to leave me. i can’t even count how many times she blocked and unblocked me. how many times she made me feel the worst and then came back. she came back because she knw i was there. and that my generosity was practically endless. i couldn’t say no to her, frankly i can’t say no to anyone. if anyone dmed me today and said hey i need $15 for a ride home. i’d probably send it. that’s just how i am. addy completely had me wrapped around her finger. to the point that i left friends who were good to me. i left my own groups i worked hard on. i nearly ended my engagement (which cannot be entirely blamed on her, but the relationship she and i had was built off lots of manipulation). i know that i could go find 100 screenshots and texts of her manipulating me but honest i just don’t want to do that to myself again. she has made me out to be the villain to anyone she can. i have had 2 different people tell me that she told them i say the n word, which is the furthest thing from the truth. i fear the things she’s said about me to people. if she can 100% make something up, what can she twist from actual arguments or issues we had?

i know this sounds like a lot of rambling for nothing. but for nearly two years i’ve lived in fear in the rpc of addy. less so when we were friends. i’ve feared telling my side because i felt invalid. frankly even as i type this im scared. scared she’s already convinced everyone i’m awful and no one will read this or care. i just am thankful that this finally came to light. i am glad that i won’t feel scared anymore. roleplay is my one place to be free. as a mother, a full time worker, i don’t have a lot of time for hobby’s and frankly i don’t have a lot of them. i don’t draw, or read. i like to write. and i’m just thankful this can finally be lifted off me.

hi hi! sorry this is late but thank you so much ;-; idk how you want me to answer this but i’ll try to make this detailed as possible and try to explain what my thought process is!

programs/sites that i use:

photoshop cc 2020: i have a mac and this is how i dl’ed ps. this is essential and you can make gifs with just ps but i use other programs it easier for me and to make the process faster

vapoursynth: this is what i use to cut, resize, denoise, and sharpen. i rely on vps heavily

4k video downloader: used to dl youtube videos (i use the free version

twitter video download: to dl twitter videos

naver vlive: to dl vlives

kpop24hrs, 4sashi, twitter and more for .ts files

process:

i’m going to assume you know how to make gifs? so i will just explain what it is that i do, if not, follow this tutorial if you are a beginner :D

i find the video that i want then dl it before finding the timestamp that i want and entering that into vps; these are my usual settings

i prefer my gifs to have a nice balance of sharpness and smoothness. i dont like oversharpened or overly smooth gifs where lines aren’t defined so my finesharp is always half the amount of my knlm filter. this is for regular high definition youtube videos tho! for performance gifs, i use a different setting

as you can see the knlm filter is much higher and this is bc most performance stages are filled with so many colors and that’s a nightmare for ps and denoising it much further will help the quality of your gifs. another thing is the addition of the first line which is used for .ts files which are interlaced

although i said these are my usual settings, every video is different with lighting and quality so i always play it by ear. i tweak my settings to what fits the video best

next step is to run it through the vps editor and import it into ps

as soon as i have it in ps, i change the frame delay either from 0.03 to 0.04 or from 0.4 to 0.5. for performance gifs, i go from 0.02 to 0.3 most of the time

it’s up to your preference but i think 0.3 is too fast. more often than not, i just increase the frame delay by 0.01 and it makes it look so much better! timing also plays a huge part in improving your gif quality

next thing is to color! everyone’s coloring is different and catered to their own preferences but for me, i prefer warm tones with magentas, reds, and yellows. i also add a lot more contrast (this makes your gif much more hd), darken the lighting, and make it more vibrant

i won’t go into detail about how i color (then this would be too long) but i can definitely make another post about coloring if you would like!) i think we can both agree the second gif looks a LOT better

these are the layers i use every single time; you can say this is my base psd but i dont save psds because i use the same layers but with different settings each time. i prefer to color every set than have a designated psd bc every video is different and psds usually work for one video only

last but not least, time to export the gif. export settings can also help improve the quality of your gifs. when i first started, i researched a lot on what export settings were the best. i have tried pattern before but im not a big fan of it. i use selective + diffusion. if you want more info on export settings, i suggest this post (this is what i used when i started)

after all that is done, upload to tumblr dot com and hope for the best

the wizard of oz + “i know the end”: the wizard of oz (1939) was my first movie of the decade: i watched it on january 1st 2020, back when i still didn’t know “there is no place like home” would have been taken so literally, and i was dying to make a gifset about it cause it’s just so beautiful, i had made a bunch of psds for a couple of scenes but they were laying in some folder with no use, until i heard “i know the end” for the first time and its lyrics basically made me visualize this very same gifset in my head. it was absolutely wonderful to bring it to life cause it made me try many new things, from the settings of the big font, which makes me very happy with the way it turned out, to the blending: this wasn’t my first blending attempt, actually, but i don’t think i’ve ever tried it on such big gifs and i think the result is kinda good(??? i think). also i’m obsessed with the lyrics about having to go repeating “i know” three times matching the three clicks of dorothy’s heels;

joker(s) as fear/chaos/pain: (tw: blood, tw: clowns) so, right after watching tdk trilogy, i looked for something to reblog and i stumbled upon the gifset i mention as my inspiration and, like, i had an actual spark in my head (love that feeling tbh!) cause i thought the words on the original gifset were perfect for each one of the cinematic jokers and that it would have been interesting to portray three different shades of the same character. i think this is one of my favourite gifsets i’ve ever done, and, also, it allowed me to use a script as a caption, which is so cool;

phoebe bridgers’ nominations for the 2021 grammy awards: punisher is my favourite record of the year and, for a lot of reasons, it has become one of the most important records ever made, for me, so i was so hopeful about phoebe getting the grammy nomination(s) she deserved so much in my eyes, and when they announced not one but four (4!!) nominations my heart exploded with joy and i immediately decided to celebrate with something, which ended up being this gifset: originally i didnt plan to make it so violet, actually i was just happy i had an excuse to gif /that/ part of ikte music video and to gif again the seth meyers performance but i didn’t have any specific prominent color in mind, but i think i like this coloring a lot, although it was made in a kind of a rush. (but also with care, i swear!) also, i really wanted her handwriting to be one of the fonts for this, but i looked for the word “kyoto” handwritten by her everywhere and i couldn’t find it, so i chose to use elliott smith’s handwriting font for that word, instead, which isn’t the most consistent choice in the world, but i think it was kind of a nice touch, regardless;

“the terminal” gifset: my humble homage and take on one of my favourite movies ever made, i love the terminal so much!! this is so different from the original concept i had in mind cause at first it had more gifs and they were supposed to be blue-ish or, however, not like this, but when i started to color tom hanks’ gif i thought about adding a gradient background and i started to mess up with the settings and the original blue-turquoise gradient became red-orange (and the fact the sky blue is still visible in the middle/last frames of the gif kinda bothers me a lot aaaah anyway), then i repeated the process with the fountain gif and i loved the result so much i decided to just go with the flow and make these all red, orange and green shades, so yeah, another way to experiment new things while giffing another absolutely stunning masterpiece imo;

this is us’ “vietnam” gifset: i had to gif my favourite episode of this is us, which is still haunting me to this day (the panoramic on the babies’ birthdates??? c h i l l s). it is also the first gifset i published for this blog’s new era! (it’s a long story). despite it being pretty simple, i love how the coloring turned out and how pastel-y everything is, and how pretty every shot is (i mean, this show is unparalleled for both storytelling AND cinematography so it wasn’t hard to find pretty shots), i tried my best to keep it as delicate as possible to reach a sort of vibrant pastel and not to get too crazy with colours and i’m very happy with it.

+ bonus: bojack horseman + the four horsemen of the apocalypse, i’m adding it cause i’m still not sure if it falls under “clever ideas” or “pure shitpost”, either way this was something i thought about at 3 am once and i had to bring it to life and i kinda like how it turned out, so yeah (the funny thing is i though it could have been richer but i didn’t know what to add and like literally one, two days later all those gifsets about characters + tarot cards popped up and they had all those beautiful static images of tarots blended with gifs and i was like “shit,this is what i missed, i should have done something like that!”...yeah)

oh I am a big fan of fonts generally!! ok my current favorite is beautiful roses. Basic sans serif fonts I love include quicksand, moon, cocogoose, jakoppi. Some serif fonts I love: hellowin, sitka, calisto mt, novelle vague & pistilli. Some other, fancy/script fonts I love: atlane, billy ohio, bristle brush, coyote, hensa, hey october & mermaid swash caps

18) What is your go to adjustment / PSD for colouring?

I color everything from scratch so I don’t really have one.. but my rough process for coloring (if im going for a softer coloring and not a super vibrant/high contrast one) is: white color picker curve -> selective color blacks 100% -> reverse gradient map layer (soft light) -> color balance -> vibrance +100 -> selective color blacks 10% -> selective color for other colors -> another black (and maybe also white) selective color layer -> very small curves layer on top.

𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄; wow how crazy, has jungkook for a bias and is a troye sivan stan. no, on a serious note im really thankful that i actually checked him out bc he’s so so amazing, and that’s why i’ve been listening to what the members recommend, since i had a good experience when it came to troye. love him, deserves first place for sure.

𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐔𝐏𝐒; as in second and third place, this time billie and gabbie, the latter i hesitated about putting in, but idc in my eyes she’s not just a youtuber but an amazing singer - i truly loved 2waymirror so she deserved that place. billie, well... if not listening to kpop i like more chill songs to play while “working” and her voice is just perfection for that, for the chilling and relaxing its just overall amazing + nice lyrics, so guess it makes sense. (also im a general depressed teen so-)

𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐒; 4th place little mix, here shows my kpopper side with the gg obsession. loved them way before kpop though and still do, lm5 was perfection. 5th place demi lovato, some people might know that i was a lovatic before becoming and army, so i felt the need to put her on here, because i still love her very very much. 6th place kehlani, yep my love came after the demi kehlani kiss, so yep guess thats in style for me lmao, she’s badass af and i luv. 7th place melanie martinez, okay y’all i only watched k-12 a week or two ago since my wifi was trash for almost two months, and i luved it, as well as the songs (also hi from hungary, where it was filmed). 8th place panic at the disco, okey sue me i wasn’t a big fan, but again im big depressed child and sometimes i like to be nostalgic of times when i was a toddler lmao, bc thats logical af. 9th place hayley kiyoko, i have nothing to say other than it’s gay and i’m a sucker for her (she’s soo pretty and what i need was honestly one of the best things that happened to me in 2019. last aka 10th place is jessie reyez, now i adore her imported, f*** being friends and body count are put on replay rn as well, they are amazing songs, her voice is so unique and great as well, but didn’t listen to her much this year, so needed to put her lowest for that reason.

𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀; the kehlani and troye edits don’t really fit the others but i tried... also i had a hard time deciding which singers i should put in, so respect to the few that didn’t make it in the end for ex; todrick hall and halsey.
