I think you're right about the writers retconning or straight up forgetting their own details lol..but my timeline idea is so rough it's basically. Carmy moves out at 19 or 20, goes to New York or somewhere first for a few years -> (but not the s1 nightmare New York stuff) -> goes to Copenhagen -> 2×06 Christmas Dinner is the same year as copenhagen (w luca! I did really like that detail hehe. Amazed Carmy had any friends 💀) -> afterwards he dives back to New York to escape his family and works at the scary Chef Joel place all the way up until Mikeys death and then he returns to The Beef. Hm. Sort of a rough mess but that's the way it makes sense in my head

agree with carmy leaving around that age-- i think he does go to culinary school during that time (he's worked at the bear for awhile so he would be considered a good option, might be able to get scholarship bc of that? im so sorry to the ppl who actually work in kitchens i feel like an academic trying to talk abt something on my high horse and getting all the details wrong) but with his like emphasis on learning fundamentals in kitchens it makes sense.

tbh i imagine w luca its like. linkedin friends but it counts for carmy he needs a W wherever he can get lol. and it really was nice to hear people did have good impressions of carmy like.. i wish he could've heard that too but i guess it would've also fed into his idea that work is the only way he can get any value like. ugh nasty boy. i kind of like that he ended up being a bit more nasty this season but i think it's bc i like unlikeable protags in small doses

WHAT I REALLY wonder is how they're going to handle s3-- i think i'd actually be happy for it to end at s3 bc i'm terrified of shows generally losing the plot and main character ideas as the show goes on. i liked s2 but in my brain i'm still treating s1 as main canon and s2 a possibility of what might've happened because of the Fear.

my wants for carmy are for him to actually get more into therapy, but i doubt that's going to happen before he has a final breakdown that finally gets him to finally realize he can't live like this. one interesting detail that i don't think will come up in the show is that noma is actually closing due to similar issues that the bear brings up-- if they bring it up i think it'll be interesting but at the same time i want carmy to actually break down and not too worked up over minor interesting facts

I made this a long time ago and I thought it was worth showing

It's definitely not accurate because everyone imagines the characters differently - like Bart is no longer 19 y.o. boy, Ryley never shows any emotion in the game (except pain when attacked, but that's all) and Avery was most likely just annoyed that they had to look for the Aurora instead of continuing in the Sunbeam's travel.

They have almost no background/backstory so it kinda gives people the freedom to create their own stories to the characters (not just these three, but all the others from Subnautica and BZ)

(This was made in August, I think, and my own views on their personalities changed a bit)

But I always wonder about what others think they are like so some HC is welcomed with open arms.

SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO ANSWER THIS BUT BROO THIS IS SO GOOD... I NEED TO MAKE ONE MYSELF FOR THESE THREE TBH?? OK SO ANYWAYS HERES JUST A BUNCH OF NONSENSE THOUGHTS I HAVE:

-honestly ive never rlly thought of pet names they'd have? there's only a few i care for and i can't rlly imagine any of them calling another person like. baby or honey.

-on the OTHER HAND. nicknames is absolutely my favorite way to show affection. i like to think that marg CONSTANTLY using nicknames (like she never calls bart or paul or robin by their names ever??) rubbed off on bart so now he also uses nicknames way too much (do i actually write this in?? i don't remember. i make up new ideas constantly. pretend i did.)

-ryley probably also uses nicknames sometimes, but avery tends to just use first names. he's fancy like that. (but also sometimes u just gotta call ryley ry. thems the rules)

-anytime any arguments or anything like the Jeffrey Situtation comes up, the three of them have pretty different reactions. ryley is Big of Heart, Dumb of Ass, and forgives basically any treatment or misgivings almost instantly. very attached and rarely gets into arguments in the first place bc he is so easy to compromise with and also super open?

-bart is. the opposite. although he also doesn't usually get into arguments, this is not due to being open. it is because he bottles up Every Negative Feeling and refuses to bring things up (this is a paul trait, thanks for the terrible coping mechanisms paul) if you DO manage to get him upset enough (a man has been murdered in lego city, oh god my dad's still alive but he doesn't seem to like me after all) then he lets out a lot of festered bitterness and maybe has a panic attack. often tries to act tough or completely ok in scenarios, but then one tiny set back makes him break down. will try to physically fight someone for causing pain to someone he knows completely fine, and then starts crying for an hour because like, roman said something that MIGHT have been a little harsh if you really really read into it (im projecting 😳)

-and avery is somewhere the middle to rein those two back in from Forgiving the Actual Murderer and Pretending to Not Be Sad over Daddy Issues. the most willing to genuinely talk about something, but also doesn't stand for anything genuinely harmful to anyone. he's like that one john mulaney bit about his wife dealing with conflict for him.

-all three of them are also incredibly affectionate. like beyond affectionate. bart will talk/listen to ppl for HOURS without getting bored, ryley is super physically affectionate (cuddle him and he'll give his life for you), and avery adjusts depending on how the other person shows affection. like super well. he can instantly go from Ryley Cuddle Feast to just a nice friend to sit quietly 3 feet apart from and watch the sunrise. he's just a dad friend through n through.

-ryley would DEFINITELY be the one to confess first. he blurts out things constantly and is also incredibly open and honest anyways. bart is too afraid of admiting to emotions to say anything about anything unless heavily prompted. (he has lost a lot, ya know? he's terrified of losing even more.)

Okay but how did the first meeting tm go between all of the dannyverse tm. Did danny b just show up at danny’s school and go ‘hey im the new sub’? Did dex try and go home for a hot sec? Did SAM try and go home/ to tucker’s place? Did tucker try and go to his house/ danny’s place?? I have questions

the initial meeting period, which i like to call “the search” takes place over like two days, each character having having a different amount of time they spent in the canon universe in reference to “the portal surge” as we’ll call it

(this ended up being really long so im putting it under a read more for everyones sake lol)

dex pops in at the same time as the surge, so hes really been in the canon dimension for like 30? 40 minutes tops? until he finds the trio. he knows immediately hes not in his home (his amity is a lot more advanced with tech) and distinctly remembers being sucked into some sort of portal, so being the smart cookie he is reasonably infers parallel universe and sets out to find answers. he flies around in his mech (invisibly) until he hones in on an ecto signature clearly reading halfa in a crowd. whether its vlad or someone else, dex figures that a halfa was probably his best bet for help so he puts on his hoodie with hood up and slips into the crowd. (the mech is close behind but remains hidden and follows dex around until its needed)

he actually initially bumps into danny by mistake while searching (”oops sorry” / ”sorry, its fine i wasnt looking”) before taking a double take and going “wait that dude has my face??? hold on is he the halfa signature im tracking???” and runs after them. he catches up after they leave the crowd and are in a less populated area and grabs danny’s arm, startling everyone, and essentially going “wait, you’re a halfa right? possibly named danny fenton??” which effectively sends everyone into panic mode until dex pulls his hood down to show he has danny’s exact face and says “can you please help me???”. this panic morphs into full blown freak out.

they eventually calm down though, and set to sort this out. this was around late afternoon.

danny b was launched into a few days before the surge, and was actually dropped a little outside of amity. at first he thought he had been sent into the past, but seeing a news story in a tv store display and seeing a 14 year old danny phantom with white hair and green eyes effectively shuts down his idea. basically has a john mulaney “adult life as a half ghost is already so weird, this might as well happen” moment in a parking lot and moves on trying to find this alt version of himself for help on how to get home.

it was a little tough for him in those few days, he doesnt carry cash and his bank account for his debit wouldnt exist, so he went hungry for a bit (probably used his ghost powers to steal some food when he got desperate) and slept on a couple park benches and all that. its a little sad really.

eventually, after days of wandering around, his ghost sense goes off as he passes a park and sees a group of 4 kids huddled together. its starting to get a little dark out by this point. danny b approaches the gang movie peter b style: from behind, somewhat ominously with his hand outstretch, with the declaration of “hey, kids....” and dex stranger danger panics and electrocutes him with his robot arm. he passes out.

the kids assess the situation, dex being able to read that danny b is a halfa (”how many of you guys is there supposed to be in this universe?” / ”only vlad and me as far as i know.”) and tucker pointing out that he kinda looks like danny if you imagine the hair black (”great, its ANOTHER version of danny like we dont have enough of those”). afterwards, they take everyone to fenton works, canon trio through the door and dex easily sneaking in with unconscious DB.

once danny b wakes up (in his childhood room nonetheless which is a little disorienting), he immediately takes refuge in canon danny’s shower, also taking the time to shave and eat whatevers in the fridge. the trio are a bit weirded out by this older danny, especially when hes on his 4th pudding cup and eating it like a rabid animal (”do NOT judge me its been a hard few days”). but they more or less get used to him, especially when he proves to be a pretty cool guy. once DB’s basic necessities were taken care of, they start to form a plan of action.

the first step they decide on is finding any other stranded interdimensional people. lucky for them, dex locks in on 2 other halfa signatures in the general area. they set out to search the next day.

mourner and ghouly are found almost simultaneously. dex tracks them down immediately and determines that one is flying through the air as a ghost and the other is in human form on the ground. the group splits up with danny looking for the full ghost, db partnered with sam to sniff out the human form one, and tucker staying with dex in the mech (everyone communicating through fenton phones).

danny finds mourner (”i think i found.....a sam? as a ghost?”) and needless to say that first encounter doesnt go well. mourner popped up a couple hours after the surge while it was nighttime, so she spent most of the night flying around trying to figure stuff out but not garnering a lot of information with the world asleep. seeing danny just makes her instantly hostile thinking its another weird ghost trick so she starts blasting and they duke it out for a bit. she really only stops until dex and tucker show up in the mech and reveal themselves does she realize “okay different versions of people i know, this is weird but its not a ghost manipulating me by puppeteering my dead friend around i guess”. she calms down and joins the group.

ghouly is easily the smoothest encounter, the gang has gone through this enough already to not freak out over it. most reaction would probably be mild amazement and typical confusion (”oh wow its a goth sam and........an older danny? with red hair?” / “we found a different version of tucker, i guess he’s a halfa”) ghouly just doesnt have as much reason to panic as much here. he got launched into this dimension at the same time as dex (the moment the surge happen) but was more or less lost and wandering around since his gps and technology didnt seem to have signal. he didnt sleep overnight so he’s running a bit on empty but bought an energy drink and sandwich earlier that morning (he carries cash) so he hasnt gone full homeless mode like danny b did.

while his initial reaction/meet up with the others were definitely the least weird and confusing, ghouly probably does stare at canon danny a little too much to the point where its a bit awkward. (”sorry its just so weird not seeing you wear black and also i still find you really cute and grappling with whether or not this is considered cheating if youre like the same person”)

I love supportive friends through endearing annoyance tbh. Like I bought the dlc for da2 and I've never had that before so there's! a dog! who I panicked when a name prompt came up and "Korkie" was the first-- --name I thought of lmao. but still the thought of that big ol Mabari dog squeezing themself in Obi's bunk in Lowtown when Quinlan has left for the night. Obi convinced him he'd be okay, but dogs /know/ their stuff and so his doggo comes in for the comfort part 2. I LOVe the idea of Ashoka leaving Ani with the food and just looking everywhere except him/the food. like. the mental imagine of it made me laugh. she's like "I hear the ocean calling me away, I must listen" or something witty coz isabela's dialogue really is top notch tbh. she probably loops back around the place and peaks through a window to make sure Ani is actually eating the food tho. I reall wonder how Obi and Ani will get back on good terms?? Like Quin and Ashoka get them back on their feet separately but I wonder who is the first one to go over to the others' place and apologize. Or. omg. better. Quin and Ashoka almost like "parent trap" them in the same location at the same time just so they can see each other and interact. Once Ani and Obi are together Quin and Soka-- --suddenly have elsewhere to be so it's just the two of them left there. At that point neither of them want to be rude and walk away from the other because they know things needs to be repaired between them but just that /first/ step to it is difficult and theyre tripping over small talk and awkward silences at first. and yeah with dao I kinda thought it was like skyrim-ish where whatver you had equipped you'd level up that skill. I was wrong lol. but it did make for a fun oc at the time where I was just like "well. she's a jack of all trades now." coz I really enjoy making game bugs/mechanics into traits for my ocs. oh! but after obi and ani come to terms with things together I can see obi still using that basic staff and lowkey on the magic because, well, kirkwall and people generally are quite shitty to mages still and Obi's got to hide from the templars still. he just might be a little more liberal with using magic in battles after that point especially if they're away from the city/watchful eyes. OH BUt also I honestly was a little torn between Obi using a staff or a sword just so he could hold the sword in his signature pose with his lightsaber. bonus points. someone breaks the staff or disarms Obi, and they think he can't do magic, but Obi actually ALSO learned how to use a sword. maybe not that big ol great swords but like the ones with the dual wield sword&shield. jst food fr thought

both the da2 group and pretty much, all of star wars, is just “found family begrudgingly puts up with all the bullshit that comes along with life, but they do it TOGETHER” and honestly, i live for it. it really it just that john mulaney, resigned sigh, “this might as well happen” lmaooo it fits too well!! like, they’re all a god damn mess, but fuck it it’s alright, they’ve got each other. and YEA quin and ahsoka and the rest delight in making fun of obikin for being uhhh, giant idiots, but they’re also endearingly protective of the two and are just happy that they’re happy tbh (which makes them even more frustrated when the two of them are being dumb and fighting)

but omg, yes, i forgot about the dog too!!! and im cackling at the fact that you panicked and named the mabari Korkie is sending me into orbit. but yes, deadass, korkie kenobi has the protectiveness thing on LOCK, he can and will hold obi-wan hostage inside until he eats something and takes care of himself, don’t test him. (that big ol’ mabari is also definitely the best cuddle buddy, 100%)

yess i love isabela’s witty dialogue!! ahsoka just dropping the food, refusing to acknowledge it, and then just fucking dipping is absolutely my favorite thing. Ani doesn’t even know how to react to, any of that, he just sits there looking at the pile of food like “???” and god, yes, ahsoka and quin are TIRED after weeks of taking care of these two idiots separately. they’ve tried to wait and get them to patch things up on their own, have encouraged them to go see each other, talk things through, but they’re both stubborn, so eventually ahsoka and quin just makes plans to lug the two of them out somewhere -- probably the wounded coast?? -- and leave them alone to force them to talk. conversation starts with the two of them complaining about it, obi-wan cursing about how quin is worse than qui-gon when it comes to acting like an overbearing parent, and then anakin is shaking his head like “oh you think thats bad?? ahsoka won’t stop feeding me, i have more food than i could eat by myself and she just won’t stop, i don’t even know how she gets in, i keep boarding up the windows!!” and the two of them are just, laughing together for a moment, lost in that old banter, but then it hits them both that it’s the first time they’ve talked since everything happened.

dude, i love that tho!! a jack of all trades OC sounds super fun, you get to explore a little bit of everything! and yess all the content of obi-wan wielding a sword is good fuckin food. i didn’t even think about his classic pose!! but yes, i could totally see him going for smaller, one handed blades so he can wield it like he does a lightsaber, fighting with a form fit for a sword and shield. maybe he does train with a shield too?? but i think it could be cool too if he keeps that hand open for magic, or defensive spells -- still takes the role of a shield without physically having own. but yea, i think he’d probably be able to fight both ways, depending on how much he wants to or thinks he should be hiding his magic!

i think it’s interesting too, thinking about their dynamic in canon between obi-wan and qui-gon, i feel like qui-gon would be mindful of hiding his magic but he’d take that as just learning to be less obvious when casting versus where obi-wan makes it a point to learn non-magic combat tactics, trains with a sword and learns how to use all sorts of different weapons, where qui-gon I feel would rely more on a staff. knows how to use a broadsword, and when they’re traveling through kirkwall proper he carries one instead, but i feel like he’d be a lot less cautious than obi-wan

first impression.

he has a harsh, inscrutible face ; dark eyes and a severe brow. he speaks slowly and deliberately, with a braavosi accent that has faded over time, but remains ever audible. for a prince, his dress is rather modest ; if you didn’t know better you would not have recognized him. you’ve heard he’s harmless ( ‘weak’ is the word of choice ) ; he’s tall but slight, and you suspect he is indeed no fighter. still, there is a dangerous grace in his movements --- but then he laughs, and there is nothing at all threatening about him.

early life.

fifth of seven children from a braavosi merchant family ; not even braavosi nobility. they were relatively wealthy, whatever the closest thing to upper middle class is in braavos. the business was a family one, and their parents, shrewd business partners more than anything, groomed all of them for similar success. they were somewhat educated, well cared for.

with that many kids, though, he’s often overlooked by his parents but also doesn’t grow up with the sense that he’s entitled to not be overlooked ; often raised more by his older siblings than parents.

still, as he ages he takes more of a role in his parents’ dealings. they trade in textiles and dyes all across the known world, and elio accompanies his older siblings on such trips ;

and it’s on one such trip that he meets his future wife ! at least, i think so. a lot of this is still up in the air and needs to be plotted with whoever fills my wc, so for now i’m gonna leave this kind of vague and edit it later when there’s more to know !

but rest assured elio’s young and overexcited and thinks he knows everything, meets her and is immediately completely sold

have i mentioned they’re young because i need to impress upon you how stupid and in love they were to think they could just get married and that would be Fine, even though she’s a princess and he’s ... nothing

anyway literally nothing is canon until i’ve had a chance to plot with whoever picks up his wife ofc but i like to think that she was the one who convinced her fam / pushed thru the marriage / decided to elope / whatever it is they did ? like i cannot emphasize enough how much elio is just along for the ride

life in westeros.

so elio’s in westeros, chilling with his new wife and loving it. the lifestyle ? delightful ; he was the son of a merchant sailor and now he’s a prince. is he totally accepted by his new family and by westeros at large ? somehow i suspect not really.

he’s also confused a lot, especially in the early years. permanently baffled by the culture. he’s a young man who’s seen a lot of the world from the middle of the crowd ; he’s definitely not used to the view from above, nor the treachery of westerosi politics.

and like, we know how westerosi can be about foreigners ; among the smallfolk there’s all kinds of rumors he’s a red priest or a shadowbinder or something and he spelled the princess to seduce her. the nobility generally know better and consider him extremely non-threatening

which, okay, fair ? he’s no political mastermind, he has few connections which do not derive from his wife’s family, he’s a big fat trophy husband is what he is.

he’s ok with that tho ? most of the time he’s very comfortable not fitting into the westerosi ideal masculine type. he likes singing and dancing, and his ‘fight training’ ( read: getting beat up by his older brothers ) in braavos was pretty limited. can’t handle wearing armor it’s too heavy and constrictive and he’s not with it. much better on a boat than on a horse. decent archer, decent ‘water dancer’, probably couldn’t wield a broadsword.

i am not sure yet if he has children or how many, but i do think he does ? would also need to be plotted i guess. but... big dad energy.

enjoys his position more with each passing day ; most of his wide eyed excitement and nerves have faded to a comfortable distance ; enjoys the shit out of being a lowly merchant married to one of the most powerful women in westeros, meaning he can mask his still somewhat poor understanding of westerosi customs. instead of “i don’t know how to react to this situation” he can simply say “i do not care and i do what i want”

personality.

he can be very dramatic ; he’s always had a love for the mummers of braavos and while he was a rather shy youth, he’s come in to his own. loves a bit of a flair, enjoys making an entrance. dresses modestly, but impeccably, and will probably embellish all the stories he tells.

has a very hard time expressing negative emotions ; instead he gets rather withdrawn and can appear cold and even unsettlingly calm. he has a rather serious and grounded disposition and can come across as much more severe than he actually is, a source of great confusion for him.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

Pretty much everything up to explicit NSFW. I will take fade to blacks. The caveat being that EVERYTHING IS COMMUNICATED. Please don’t spring a fade to black/random pregnancy/a massive breakup/idk whatever else on me without talking to me first?? I don’t mind horribly if the relationship is a little toxic....but like, intentionally. Like we both know that it’s toxic and we’re actively wriitng it toxically in an interesting...way?

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

I think....more than 8? My grandparents are 8 years apart so personally for me this is the largest age gap I know a couple to have. Obviously, that age gap being not uncomfortable is always dependent on the fact that both muses are of age. Shipping an underage character with an adult is just....no thnx.

Are you selective when shipping?

Yes and no. This is a trick answer. On the one hand I’m not and on the other hand I am? I get the ship feels very fast if our interaction/plotting sparks the Chemistry Feel, but also the Chemistry Feel is very specific and if I don’t feel it, I don’t feel it. IDK if that’s selectivity or just......normal shipping.

And then there’s also the fact that in general if our muses have a canon relationship, odds are that I probably ship them and want to write shippy stuff. B u t the kicker with all of that is that I don’t like shipping with someone just based off a canon connection bc there is every possibility that I will figure out later on that our portrayals don’t mesh very well or that I don’t actually have the Chemistry Feel from between our muses during the interaction, and I like...I never want to ship for the sake of having the ship? So like.....always talk to me first. Some plotting or interaction would be Best before we decide if shipping can happen.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

i’m sure there’s no real contempt on a personal level, and james, as a comedian, understands how and why he is a punchline to some people (and can take it). that said, i think his generally appearing “fake” in his personality and penchant for laughing a lot as well as not being a particularly clever or original comedic writer brings the groans from other comedians. after he started winning major awards is when it became particularly trendy not to like him *shrug*

yes, yes, and it depends...some comics are good presenters, some are good roasters, some are good at standup, some are good at podcasts. so ! i like john mulaney, maria bamford, bo burnham, robin williams, sam morril, and i love roast battles so a lot of the greats on jeff ross presents roast battle (mike lawrence, matthew broussard, etc). but apart from mulaney i can’t think of any i religiously keep up with!

hello everyone! yes i certainly watched it, i thought it was nice :) it was a good selection of guests and it was nice to see so many new gen panelists on one programme; i think it helped josh & james and tom & rob are such old friends, and obviously jess & james know each other at least mildly well. dynamics make panel shows. i think the format is decent but really dependent on the guests...i could tell so many of the answers were pre-planned with elaborate set ups (props) and i generally find the less obvious that is, the better, so i hope that improves as they move forward. james is also a little less weird and a little more talk show host-y, which is an odd look for him and i’m not sure how i feel about it, bc i assumed josh would be taking that role so james could fuck about a bit — but it certainly feels like the james acaster show 😂 i’ll be interested to see how it continues with different guests. i love the “how much money to do xyz” round, because i play that all the time irl and it’s hilarious making people explain themselves. but i’ll say this: like you guys i obviously really like james, but if we’re being real this is not the funniest panel show of all time aljskfhg or whatever. sometimes i think being consistently pleasant (looking at you, insert name here) can be even better than that. so that’s what i’m hoping for it!
