with a very hopeful heart, i have an important news to share to everyone, after almost 11 years of working/collaborating/studying/researching/mentoring/teaching at CMOC and LPMC (Université de Nice-Sophia Antipolis) and NICE Lab, IMREDD (Université Côte d’Azur) in Nice, France 🇫🇷 — the time is now to leave the city I called home and to embark on a new scientific adventure in another city in France (city reveal in the next days) — i will start working as Ingénieur de recherche physico-chimiste in a CNRS laboratory to work on biomaterials and biological interfaces — my next mission is to integrate biology in my physics and chemistry skills (i’ll also continue working with Plasmas and start with XPS 😉) 💙🤍❤️ 2022 had been a super tough year for me, i lost my mom and i had to leave Nice but with Heavenly Father’s guidance, i had to move on with my life and restart in a new city with a new work — i will leave Nice with a heavy heart, but i know that it is necessary to better myself, definitely a bittersweet goodbye 🤍 i want to express my utmost gratitude to Frédéric Guittard for hosting me in Nice from 2011 until i got my 2nd PhD, the friendship we developed will be treasured (and thank you for visiting my mom in the Philippines last 2018) and i’ll still collaborate with his lab whenever possible, to all my former colleagues in the university, friends, church-mates, and students, thank you for sharing your life with me in Nice ❤️ 🥂 to a new beginning 😘 love you all! #amazingadventuresofbeaujethro #newlife #restart #newbeginnings #bittersweetgoodbye #newwork #newcity #physics #biology #chemistry #filipinoscientist #thankyouheavenlyfather #blessing #grateful #illgowhereyouwantmetogo (at Nice, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjSxUckte4h/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hedera Helix : avec Suzanne Hetzel, artiste, et Vincent Perrottet, graphiste, nous sommes présélectionnés pour le 1%artistique du futur bâtiment de l’Institut Méditerranéen du Risque, de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable (IMREDD, Nice).

Le bâtiment dessiné par Marc Barani abrite un ensemble de plates-formes techniques qui captent tout et partout, avec pour but de créer de nouveaux usages et régulations à partir de ces données pléthoriques. Nous nous orientions vers l’idée de créer une tension poétique avec ce paradigme du contrôle total, et bien entendu, c’est sur l’aspect proliférant, insidieux, et victorieux à long terme (s’il s’agissait de bataille) de la végétation que nous choisissons de nous appuyer. Nous souhaitons coller le plus possible à l’architecture elle-même, que nous trouvons bien dessinée, et c’est le lierre, ce végétal qui a une relation symbiotique avec le mur qui guide notre proposition.

Nous proposons une fresque d’une quinzaine de mètres sur le mur principal : la photographie à échelle 1 d’un lierre de cette dimension, traitée ensuite en sérigraphie chrome. Dans cette matière, la plante devient, suivant l’angle et la distance à laquelle on regarde le mur, une vibration lumineuse qui crée l’illusion d’un volume, un motif, et enfin le végétal lui-même.

Au niveau de la terrasse, dans le prolongement du mur, nous inscrivons une phrase que la nature tirée de Victor Hugo.

Nous proposons enfin, pour les espaces de convivialité d’un lieu destiné à accueillir des chercheurs et des entrepreneurs du monde entier, une vaisselle spécifique (tasse à café, mug, assiette), tant il est vrai que la plupart des salles de repas sont des étalages de vaisselle hétéroclite, d’un goût et d’un état approximatifs.

Notre proposition ne sera malheureusement pas retenue !

attended the inauguration of IMREDD’s new building 🎉 (1) Monsieur Le Maire‘s speech only took 8 mins and 52.87 sec 😉 the PACA président gave the longest speech (yup, surprise! it’s not M.
