Do you listen to music when you write?

I do! It absolutely has to be without any lyrics at all, though, otherwise I WILL get distracted. It's remarkable how many playlists that claim to be instrumentals only have, like, kind of a lot of lyrics. Anyway, I mostly listen to lo-fi hip-hop or occasionally electronica. I used to listen to ambient, but it just puts me to sleep at this point.

10. Do you set yourself deadlines?

OMG NO. That is a fast track to avoiding-the-project-town and I have been down that road FAR too many times.

19. How do you keep yourself motivated?

No, seriously. After ~7 years away from writing, I am kiiiiinda dependent on outside engagement for my dopamine, so I'm working my butt off to get this second draft into shape so I can post it and get those sweet, sweet kudos.

24. Favorite genre to write and read

Fantasy! I also enjoy romance (obviously), but fantasy is where my brain lives 85% of the time. 10% romance, 4% historical fiction, 1% sci-fi. But even then, most of these have a significant overlap with fantasy themes.
