Sorry for being unhinged under the cut. This is a product of my neighbour listening to positive affirmation mantra music at 3am and also the Waitress Soundtrack

I think there's a misconception with Pierre within the idea that he holds a lot of anger and resentment. I think that much is true for sure, but because of it he gets characterized as hardened because of it when deep down that's not the case!

In his career Pierre has never been afforded the same grace or the same kindness as many of his peers have been. Which is not to say that that kindness towards others was not earned, but it's different.

Pierre has been in survival mode for years. years. What you see is not a hardness, or a selfishness, it’s self preservation. And I don't think he truly wears it in this independent way that it's often characterized. I don’t think Pierre is looking particularly to be independent. I think he is trying to be self sufficient because he cant trust anyone not to leave him in that. There’s a difference there that drives some fundamental wants/needs that get missed sometimes. Pierre isn't HE’S NOT AFFORDED THE SAME SOFTNESS as the others. HE LONGS FOR IT JUST THE SAME.

I think about the video from last season when he does the Piñata video, and he says to the presenter about the candy "we should bring this for Checo's kids to have". And then the story from the other day about him bringing that girl with him to testing. He is thoughtful and kind and generous with himself in a way that gets missed.

He will flay himself open the pavement and says: this is Pierre. This is who I am and this is how I feel and I can't change that. I won't change that. I want to believe that is enough.

He feels so much and he doesn't have anywhere to put it!!! He has been made to feel that to cry... to feel is SHAMEFUL. To feel as if you have been stripped of your voice and your humanity enough that you have to write your own article... Where else can that go when you aren't afforded a place to feel? A dream is a soft place to land.

Hi! I was speaking to a friends boyfriend who works as an engineer (factory only, no trackside so plenty of this is second hand info) at one of the teams over the Christmas break. He says that at his team one driver is unhappy with his current position in the team, because he thought his team would favour him and make him lead driver as he has been there a number of years but his new teammate beat him and is supposedly now renewed through to the next set of regulations while the other driver has no contract. There has been a physical fight in the factory between the drivers early in the season and there are now protocols in place to prevent another, such as a senior neutral third party has to be present with them at all times if they’re together and their sim time and entry to circuits is coordinated to prevent them being there at the same time. Didn’t know who better to tell 👀👀👀

F1 FEMALE DRIVER HEADCANONS

PAIRING… f1!drivers x fem!driver | WC… 0.4k | Masterlist

➭ Having basically all of the older drivers as your parents (mainly Lewis, Seb and Daniel).

➭ Being slightly younger than Oscar.

➭ Karaoke sessions with the drivers and it always just ends up in you singing beautifully whilst the latter almost lose their voice.

➭ Being besties with Carlos and Lando and either you gang up on either or both gang up on you.

➭ Always being picked as a partner in grid challenges, no matter the topic and somehow your team always seems to win, leading you to be known as the ‘most cultured’ driver.

➭ Being known as the ‘model’ of the paddock as you always turn up in the best outfits during race week.

➭ Having many fans either want to be you or be with you.

➭ Being an absolute idiot with Charles wherever whenever with Daniel or Seb having to marshall your stupidness.

➭ Every driver believing that you and Oscar are a thing, no matter how many times you both try to deny the speculations.

➭ Having gossip sessions with whichever driver you can get a hold of, mainly those being Daniel, Lando, Carlos and Charles. Also having them eavesdrop on conversations you have with your other friends and immediately asking you about it once the call ends.

➭ All of the drivers just ganging up on George and joining in on George’s intro meme, with you winning of course.

➭ Lando and Daniel bullying you into having one of those jpg accounts after multiple fans point out how their own accounts are basically just fan accounts for you (mainly Lando’s). Your first post includes a dramatic and over the top photoshoot by the two before being followed by a few mugshots of the drivers.

➭ Each driver being given a nickname after certain crashes, yours being the torpedo after you infamously charged straight into Carlos’ car (the nickname given as Carlos had, very exaggeratedly, described what you looked like). Other drivers nicknames being: Beyoncé belonging to Lando after the radio recording of him screaming (hitting a high note) after losing control of his car was released.

➭ You basically trying to bully Lance into giving you a few extra notes in cash at any chance you can, whenever Lawrence is not around of course.

➭ Having Yuki take you and Pierre to his house whenever you’re in the country after begging him to let his mother make some food for the two of you. This idea spiralling off the one time Yuki let you try one of his homemade meals, the recipe, he said, belonging to his mother.

➭ ‘Michael Jackson’ being another one of your nicknames as you performed one of the artists dances for a challenge… whilst being dressed up like him. And of course having Daniel record the whole thing and posting it online, leading to the whole f1 world calling you that nickname.

➭ Never ending rivalry between you and Lando (basically you two just acting like kids all the time).
