Revamp Your Workspace: Unveiling the Ultimate Inventory Shelving Systems
In today's competitive retail industry, supermarkets constantly strive to attract customers and optimize their operations. One crucial aspect of achieving these goals is the effective utilization of supermarket equipment and shop display equipment. These tools not only enhance the overall shopping experience for customers but also contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the supermarket. This article explores the significance of supermarket equipment and shop display equipment in creating an engaging and organized shopping environment.
The term supermarket equipment refers to a diverse collection of implements and machines that are put to use in the numerous departments that make up a supermarket. These departments include refrigeration, storage, shelving, checkout counters, and more. The procedures can be streamlined with the help of these pieces of equipment, space can be utilised to its fullest potential, and product quality and freshness are maintained. For example, refrigeration systems are an essential component in the process of prolonging the shelf life of perishable goods like dairy products, meats, and vegetables. These systems assist supermarkets in reducing the amount of food that is thrown away and ensuring that customers have access to food that is both fresh and wholesome by maintaining the ideal temperature and humidity levels.
Storage options are another essential component of grocery store fixtures and furnishings. Supermarkets are able to effectively organise their inventory thanks to storage systems that are both efficient and effective, such as industrial racks and shelving units. Supermarkets are able to improve their stock management, cut the amount of time it takes to restock shelves, and reduce the number of errors made by customers by classifying products and maximising the use of available space. Customers are able to easily navigate through aisles and locate products without any confusion thanks to efficient storage systems, which also contribute to an aesthetically pleasing shop layout.
Tumblr media
When it comes to shop display equipment, supermarkets rely on a variety of tools to showcase their products in an appealing manner. These tools include shop display counters, shop display shelves, and shop display hooks. The ability of supermarkets to display products at eye level, which draws customers' attention and encourages them to make impulsive purchases, is made possible by shelving units with adjustable heights and angles. These display units are able to be modified to meet the requirements of a wide variety of product categories, including those pertaining to baked goods, canned goods, and personal care products, among others. Supermarkets are able to effectively highlight promotional offers and new arrivals when products are presented in a manner that is both organised and visually appealing. This results in increased sales and increased customer satisfaction.
In addition to shelving units, supermarkets make use of a variety of specialised display equipment such as beverage coolers, refrigerated display cases, and hot food displays. These pieces of equipment not only maintain products at the appropriate temperature but also give customers an unobstructed view of the various choices that are available to them. For instance, a refrigerated display case that is well-lit and organised in the appropriate manner can entice customers to investigate a wide variety of chilled products, such as beverages, pre-packaged meals, and desserts. These alluring displays have the potential to increase sales and leave customers with a favourable impression of the product's freshness and overall quality.
Another essential zone in a grocery store, the checkout counter is where the right equipment can make a significant difference in terms of productivity and overall customer satisfaction. To hasten the process of making payments and cut down on the amount of time spent waiting in line, many contemporary supermarkets have implemented cutting-edge point-of-sale (POS) systems and self-checkout machines. These systems simplify transactions, automate price calculations, and provide accurate data for managing inventory all at the same time. In addition, the utilisation of barcode scanners and cash management solutions assists supermarkets in cutting down on the number of mistakes made, reducing the risk of theft, and facilitating a streamlined checkout process for customers.
It is essential to perform routine maintenance and upgrades on the equipment used in grocery stores and retail shops in order to ensure that it continues to function properly and lasts as long as possible. Regular inspections should be scheduled at supermarkets so that any problems can be found and resolved as soon as possible. Not only can the functionality of older machines be improved by replacing them with newer models that are more energy-efficient, but in the long run, this can also cut down on the costs of operation. Supermarkets can minimise the amount of downtime they experience by making investments in equipment that is dependable and long-lasting. This provides their customers with a seamless shopping experience.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, the equipment found in supermarket equipment as well as display equipment play an essential part in the creation of an inviting and effective environment for shopping. These pieces of equipment contribute to the overall success of a supermarket in a variety of ways, from the refrigeration and storage solutions to the aesthetically pleasing shelving units and specialised displays. Supermarkets can increase their sales, improve their customers' satisfaction, and maintain a lead in today's competitive retail landscape if they improve the way their products are presented, streamline their operations, and enhance the customer experience.

Welcome to the Lube Chute!
Some We're-A-Package-Deal Summer Job Stobin crack, dedicated to @griefabyss69. Also shout out to @wynnyfryd who said the Lube Chute sounded like the location of Stobin's next fail summer job after Family Video got destroyed. "No, I'm telling you, Steve. We have to say it every time."
"We have to say, 'Welcome to the Lube Chute, where our main goal is fillin' all your holes,' every time?"
"Every time." Robin shrugged her shoulders. "It's the whole 'ocean of flavor' thing all over again." She'd started at the Lube Chute a week before him, owing to his need to hover over Eddie while his body knitted itself back together. By the time Steve had decided Eddie could get to the fridge and the bathroom on his own, she had been deemed competent enough to show him the register and inventory procedures.
"Yeah, except 'ocean of flavor' was about ice cream," Steve said. "And this is about, you know, rubber dicks."
"That's the way of stupid retail, huh." Robin sighed dramatically and hopped upon the counter. Next to her sat an open box of flavored lubes. She picked up a pricing gun and started affixing them with stickers.
A few minutes later, the door dinged with the sound of someone pushing their way into the shop. A regular-looking latino man in jeans and a faded Zeppelin tee stepped into the shop.
Steve gave Robin a pleading look, and she pulled her lips thin in sympathy and mouthed, "sorry, your turn." God. Welp. He may as well rip off the Band-Aid.
"Welcome to the Lube Chute," Steve said flatly, "where our goal is fillin' holes."
The guy snorted softly and went on his way, moving toward a rack of adult video tapes. Meanwhile, Robin kept her head down, looking pointedly to where she'd slapped a $.3.99 label onto a bottle of Maxxx Slick Strawberry.
"Like obviously I don't care," she said. "But it is 'where our main goal is fillin' all your holes.'"
"Ugh." Steve rolled his eyes up at the ceiling. "Why is it, like, so long?"
Curling his chin back around, he found the customer at the counter holding Dr. Lovesmuscles's Foot Long Schlong. The customer looked between it and Steve before raising his eyebrows. Shit and fuck. For the first time in literally ever, Steve wished he was back in those tiny Scoops shorts.
"I wasn't... I didn't mean the... I..." Steve stared at the guy over the counter and then gave up on trying to explain, punching things into the register as fast as he could so he could end the interaction. "So for the video and the toy, that comes to $18.39 with tax."
Steve made made change for a $20, put the guy's things into a nondescript brown paper bag, and then bit back a groan when he realized he had to embarrass himself one more time before it was all over.
"Thank you for visiting the Lube Chute. Remember if the base ain't flared, it doesn't go up there. Have a nice day!"
Next to him, Robin coughed into her elbow. When Steve looked over, he found her reading the back of one of the lube bottles, this one watermelon flavored.
"What do you think potassium sorbate even is?" Robin asked. "I mean, I know what potassium is. I passed chem and got into college—go Wildcats. Just... potassium sorbate. What does it even do?"
Steve stared at her for a long moment and then snatched the pricing gun from her hand. #
It was late July. August loomed and with it so did the end of possibly their last summer job together. After this, they were both slated to leave Hawkins. Robin to Northwestern, Steve to Chicago to be near her (and because it made sense as a base for Eddie to work on growing his music career.)
On this particular Wednesday, they had a huge shipment of video tapes to go through. Other than the scantily clad and sometimes fully nude women on the covers, it felt a lot like being back at Family Video. They quickly priced and stocked the tapes that were for sale, and then they worked on storing the covers for the rentals and putting them in the rental cases and then into the system.
"God, Steve, I am just, like, so gay," Robin whispered under her breath for the fifth or sixth time as she stared wide-eyed at a VHS cover. On it, a redheaded woman stared into the camera, her breasts exposed, her hand disappearing down the front of her very thin white panties. "You do know you can just, like, check one of these out, right?" Steve asked. "You're an adult. No one would—" Steve cut himself off when the bell over the door jingled. Jumping at the sound, Robin almost dropped the tape, fumbling with it several times before Steve snatched it from the air and handed it back to her. She was blushing hard when she went to put it into the computer.
One crisis averted, Steve turned toward the door to find one of the owners coming in. Shit.
Steve had slacked off on the welcome and goodbye phrases over the course of the summer because, well, he didn't want to say them. And now he wasn't sure he even remembered them properly. Shit, shit, shit.
He smiled and nodded as the owner approached the counter. Stephanie was a sleek, blonde woman who looked nothing like the kind of person you might expect to own a sex shop.
"Order come in okay?" she asked.
"Oh, uh, one damaged tape so far," Steve said. "Definitely an improvement over the last order."
'If the base is too...' No, that wasn't it.
"Love to hear that since I spent 3 hours yelling at the distributor after that incident."
'Where we fill holes for...' Definitely not.
"Yeah, right, sucked for us too beca—" Steve froze as a customer walked into the shop. He looked over at Robin, hoping to catch her eyes for a save, but she was laser-focused on sorting another box of tapes into alphabetical order for processing.
Fuck. Steve smiled at the incoming customer. Okay, he could do this. Deep breath, winning smile. "Welcome to the Lube Chute, where our main goal is fillin' all your holes."
Robin inhaled a deep gasp right around the same time that Stephanie burst into raucous laughter, throwing her head back and exposing her slender throat. In another life where he wasn't already tits over ass for Eddie Munson, he would've had to fall a little in love with her.
"Oh my God, that is too good." Stephanie wiped tears form her eyes with her thumbs and then giggled a few more times. "Jesus, Steve. Did you come up with that on your own?"
"Wha—?" Steve snapped his eyes over to Robin, who had her teeth set in grimace that would have been comedic at any other time. Shoulders pulled up around her ears, her eyes bled with apology.
Steve clenched his jaw and turned back to Stephanie, slipping into the most suave persona he could muster under those conditions. "Oh, you know, just thought you'd get a kick out of it."
"Well, you were right about that." Stephanie shook her head and grabbed the money bag to take it to the bank. "'Fillin' holes!" She laughed again on her way out the door.
Steve watched like a hawk as her car pulled out of the parking lot and then rounded on Robin, voice low as the customer browsed the "New Videos!" display.
"You told me we HAD to say..."
"Oh my God, I was gonna tell you after, like, a week, but then you stopped doing it on your own, so I just kinda..." Robin made a wobbly gesture with both hands, and Steve sighed deeply.
"You're walking home today," he said, but they both knew he didn't mean it, especially when his lunch break rolled around and he saved her half his orange as usual. # It was still July, and they could see the customer approaching from the parking lot. "Steve," Robin said. "Steve, please." "I want to point out that it's your own fault that you have to do this now, officially, as part of company policy. Because Stephanie liked it so much." "Steve, but..." Steve jutted his hip out against the counter and crossed his arms, waiting. With the same put-upon sigh he'd grown used to at Scoops and Family Video, Robin drew herself up taller and slapped her hands down on either side of the register. Through the front door, a fat woman with curly brown hair stepped into the shop. Robin beamed at her. "Welcome to the Lube Chute! Where our main goal is fillin' all your holes."

cm dev log #3 - january 2024
january was pretty good! i got a lot done this past month, including but not limited to the basic structure of my combat system. let’s take a look!
there’s a lot of things that went into this, so let’s break em all down. when in combat mode, the player uses the cursor to aim and left clicks to shoot. currently i have three different weapons to choose from, each with a different number and spread of shots. both the player and their enemies display their HP (the numerical format is a placeholder, hoping to eventually figure out hp bars), lose HP when touched by a damaging object, and die when their HP ≤ 0. enemies chase the player (some faster than others). if the player takes damage, they flash red to indicate as such & become invincible for the next second and a half.
Tumblr media
i also made my combat test room larger, which has been helpful (shocker)
initially i was pretty worried about coding all of this but it was actually kind of a breeze…? i’m definitely getting a lot better at understanding & working with GML’s syntax, which is really satisfying. i didn’t encounter as many funny errors this past month, it’s been a lot more of writing code and then refining it rather than writing code, then fixing it, then refining it.
around this point i noticed that if i entered a room to pick up an item, left that room, & then went back in, the item would respawn back to its original position. this wasn’t a glitch, it’s just how gamemaker works by default, so i got to work on some simple saving/loading scripts: basically just telling gamemaker what potential changes to a room it needed to keep track of & when to call for them. to be honest this kind of thing is a lot harder to show off in a dev log… but it’s important work, so i’m happy i did it! i finished up the save/load system by implementing a proper “full game save/load”, what you would normally think about when someone talks about saving & loading.
Tumblr media
woah, the save section of the in-game menu does something now!
the full game save/load code is basically a more elaborate version of the room-to-room save/loads: telling gamemaker what it needs to keep track of and when to recall it. to be honest i do not really understand the save/load code itself….. something something JSON… it was copied from a tutorial <3 but it works, which is what matters! honestly the most difficult part here was integrating it all into my in-game menu system, though even that wasn’t too bad because i was able to reuse a lot of the code i wrote for the inventory.
the last thing i did this month was start on my sound effects management system. i wouldn’t consider it “finished” but i have some really good bones for it i think! i whipped up a few sfx in vcv rack and they’ve implemented nicely. it’s crazy how much of a difference a few sounds can make: i haven’t really changed any of the sprites since their conception but already the combat feels a lot juicier.
at this point i’m getting to a place where i want to start tackling the gameplay and implementation of everything i’ve built: creating rooms, mapping out worlds, tiling, introducing npcs, etc. i have a lot of systems in place but almost nothing resembling the actual game. this has been totally fine so far—i’m glad to have these systems! but i feel confident enough now that i really want to get started on actual play. by april i’m hoping to have something of a rough playtest, maybe the first 10-20 minutes of the game… but we’ll see how everything pans out!
in the meantime, i have work to do, as always :^) see you next month!

paying my bills, by which i mean buying cds... i've exhausted the inventory of one record store's used rack. there's another one near my new apartment that i haven't been to yet. but i know none of them are going to have the cds i want, some of which (1.8.7. quality rolls) i'm going to have to actually buy off discogs. hilariously i do have an account there but i've never done anything to import my collection (thousand-line spreadsheet), i've only used it to contribute new album pages. this is also why discogs says leikeli47 acrylic was pressed to cd when it WASN'T she's never released ANY cds as far as i can tell. but this did fool me for a minute when i went looking until i realized the problem is that i wrote the page. i could have sworn she had some listed on her website once but i only bought the hat instead and now it's down and not on archive.org. and while we're on the subject why did y'all let her flop i want an explanation for real. man. she was my most streamed artist for a couple years running so i guess i've paid my bills there but like what if i wanted to listen to it in the car. yes i still have a cdr drive on my linux system but it's not the same. because my handwriting is bad. what am i supposed to do, buy a cd label printer? that's absurd

20240129: the History of LEGO Castle day 029. 1584-1 / 6060-1 Knight's Challenge (1988 / 1989, 168 pieces, 73 different parts) The eight minifigures for this set are completely versatile, with several brand new torsos and no duplicates in the set. -A knight with a blue torso and black arms with the silver breastplate print and blue legs with a black belt. -A Lion Knight red archer torso with blue arms and the gold lion on a triangular blue shield with a gold outline and red legs with a black belt. -A "peasant" with a light gray v-neck torso with blue arms, a black belt with a yellow buckle, a brown pouch, and red legs with a black belt. -A "maiden" with a white torso with blue collar and two-string red necklace with white arms, plain white legs, and a red cone hat. -A Lion Knight red axe-wielder torso with blue arms and the gold and black crossed axe pattern with red legs and a black belt. -A brand new blue torso with black arms and silver scaled mail print and blue legs with a black belt. -A black torso knight with black arms and the silver breastplate print with black legs with a red belt. -A red torso knight with blue arms and the silver breastplate print with plain black legs. There are a significant number of unique or limited pieces in this set. -Knight's Challenge introduced the very first LEGO 2x2x2 barrel, seen in this set in brown as a beverage dispenser. -This is the ONLY set with the red 3x3x6 corner wall panels. -This is also the only castle set with the green round fruit tree. -The triangular blue dragon shield with yellow wings on a red background and a thick blue border is new. -The red goblet was only found in four other sets from 1986-1991 and the white goblet was only found in seven other sets from 1986-2004. -The white octagonal canopy was only found in two other space sets from 1987, 6893-1 Orion II Hyperspace and 6972-1 Polaris I Space Lab. -The yellow 1x5x4 continuous arch bow was only found in two other sets, 6074-1 / 10039-1 Black Falcon's Fortress from 1986 / 2002 and 6276-1 Eldorado Fortress from 1989. -The red horse barding with the yellow lion is only found in two other sets (6039-1 Twin Arm Launcher from 1988 and 6081-1 King's Mountain Fortress from 1990). -The blue horse barding with a black background and blue dragons is my favorite horse barding print, and it was only found in this set and two others (6085-1 Black Monarch's Castle from 1988 and 6086-1 Black Knight's Castle from 1992). Back of the box and back of the instruction manual builds for this set include a social scene, a horse saddle with sun covering, a spread out fair, and a boat. One of the issues I have with this set is that the pavilion, the beverage barrel, the jousting divider, and the arms rack are all built on different sized green baseplates. While the pavilion uses the thin style, the other three separate elements use the thick style. As this set has so many different separate elements, it makes picking it up and moving it considerably more difficult. Also, while this is a very colorful build, the Knight's Challenge doesn't really have much in the way of buildable pieces. It's still a very fun set and augments the rest of the LEGOLAND Castle System very well. Also, even though the white torso with two string red necklaces is used with the "princess cone hat" and that minifigure is sitting higher in the pavilion stands than the two knights, the minifigure is referred to as "maiden" on the inventory pages, and not as "princess" or any other title that might indicate royalty, and the "peasant" has the brown "female" hair, which indicates at least some attempts at gendering in this LEGO set. Parts inventory for this set can be found at BrickLink or Rebrickable with a free download of the instructions available at ToysPeriod.

Okie dokie, it’s crack fic time!
KiriBaku in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Two of my biggest obsessions, I had to try my hand to smash them together.
Writing snippet of some of the story below! Let me know if it’s worth continuing to share!
——————————————————
The Bakugo’s were rich.
Like filthy rich. Like, the kind of rich that their only son, Katsuki, would never have to truly work a hard day in his life.
His fathers family owned a good chunk of the railroad system but it was his mother, who came from the cutthroat fashion industry, that was the real ruthless brains behind the operation. Through cold calculation, (and minor bribing or blackmail), she had steered her husband to buy up nearly all of the competition, making them the sole transportation conglomerate in the lower half of the known states. No one moved product or rode a train without them getting a cut.
They lived in a huge house in Saint Denis, enjoying servants, fresh foods, rich clothing, fine horse breeds, and the latest in technological advancements, the luxuries only an option to the few that could afford them. Everyone in town and the surrounding counties knew who they were; they were respected, envied, feared, loved, and hated.
In hindsight, a privilege he definitely took advantage of, and probably something he should have taken a little more seriously.
Out drinking with acquaintances (because he didn’t have friends) at an upscale bar, having drank too much, Bakugo got in an argument over accusations of cheating at cards with one of the other boys. With his known hair trigger temper only enhanced with liquor, it quickly escalated to a full scale fist fight and both were kicked from the establishment for the rest of the night.
Bruised and seething, he stomped through the darkened nighttime streets towards another bar down the way when the heavy bitter scent of horse, sweat, and cigarettes flooded his nose a moment before a crack across the back of his head and everything went dark.
—————
The first thing Katsuki realized as he came around was that with every footfall of his horse, his head throbbed in pain. Groaning he gripped with his thighs to not flop directly off the beast as he blinked owlishly at the bright sunlight filtering through the trees. The mix of that and chipper birdsong assaulted his pounding head and watery eyes, further muddling his broken thoughts.
Instinctively he went to bring his hands up to his face to wipe the sweat matted hair from his eyes, but his hands were yanked to a stop. Frowning he glanced down and realized he was tied tightly at the wrists and around his waist then secured to the saddle horn. The familiar weight of his pistol was gone from his hip as well. Actually, upon a quick inventory inspection, he was stripped bare save his thin undershirt and pants. Even his feet were naked, boots and socks gone.
What the fuck?
Blinking some of the fuzz from his brain, both a mixture of a nasty hangover and being clocked in the head, he glanced around at the two scruffy men riding alongside him then at the back of the one leading his horse. He didn’t recognize any of them.
Shit.
Had… had he been kidnapped?!
“Ah, good t’see yer awake sleeping beauty,” the man to his right chuckled, weathered face pulled back into a nasty grin. “Here we were afraid that Tenshaw here whacked ya too hard and scrambled your brains fer good and lost us our ransom.”
“Fuck off,” came Katsuki’s automatic groan, wincing at the throbbing of his brain that speaking racked up. “And tell Tenshaw he hits like a bitch.”
A cigarette raspy laugh wheezed from the kidnapper. “Ha ha! A feisty little spitfuck ain’t cha. Hear that Tenshaw? You hit like a bitch!”
The man leading his horse just turned in his saddle to spit out a wad of tobacco in Katsuki’s direction. “And you whine like one. Shut your whore mouth.”
As if.
“Ha, like a whore, you have to pay extra for that. You all are gonna hang and I’ll make sure to piss on your corpses. Do you have any idea who the fuck I am? My parents have connections beyond–”
“Of course we know who fuckin’ spawned you; you’re the Bakugo brat, the only one they bothered popping out. Which means your parents will pay handsomely to get their one and only heir back. Unscathed and unaltered,” was added with a pointed look, a dark glint in Tenshaw’s gaze.
Katsuki just snorted and rolled his eyes, not intimidated in the least. “Tch, you’re seriously threatening to cut my balls off? How fucking original. All it’s gonna do is prove they’re bigger than yours.”
That sent the talkative one into a cackling fit, and earned another death glare from Tenshaw. “You need to learn to keep your mouth shut, spitfuck, or it’s gonna get you in trouble.”
“And you can go fuck yourself raw on that fence post back there–”
The butt of a gun cracked across his jaw so hard that as he careened sideways in the bindings securing him to the saddle, he felt his horse stumble to keep its balance. Spots danced in his vision as he gasped, the metallic tang of copper filling his mouth. The inside of his cheek had been sliced open on his teeth and a bruise was already blooming from the force of the blow.
Defiantly he spat a huck of blood back at the cowboy on his left and instantly received a harsh first to the side of his already aching jaw as punishment. His head swam as he was once again rocked in his saddle. Reflexively, he sucked in air from the absolute throbbing of his skull but managed to hold in the whimper of pain.
“Biki, you kill him, I’ll kill you,” Tenshaw snapped over his shoulder but didn’t make any other move to intervene.
“Tenshaw said to be quiet, so quiet you’ll be,” Biki, the one on Katsuki’s left who had been silent up until this moment, reiterated as he tucked the shotgun back against his shoulder with his knuckle split hand.
“You hit better than Tenshaw at least,” Katsuki grumbled back, unable to tamper down the need to have the last word, but begrudgingly took the hint to shut the fuck up after that.
—————
They rode hard, pushing the horses at a steady lope as they worked to put distance between them and Saint Denis. Katsuki knew the area enough to be aware that they were nearing Rhodes (how long had he been out?!) and sticking close to the shoreline to avoid main roads and attention. If he was taken out of Lemoyne county, his chances of being rescued drastically slimmed. He had to act, somehow.
“I need to piss,” he suddenly spoke up.
“Then piss,” Tenshaw responded uncaringly.
“And then have to sit in it? Hell no, I’m not an animal,” Katsuki griped with a disgusted wrinkle of his nose.
“Ain’t my saddle, deal with it bitching beauty.”
Katsuki inhaled in a breath to interrupt the scathing retort that sprang to his tongue as a default and instead tried to be tactful. “Alright, look asshole, I’ve honestly been an upstanding kidnapee so far. I haven’t been sobbing my eyes out uncontrollably or constantly begging for freedom, or generally making a lot of fuss. Just a little back talk, which honestly, I feel is deserved considering the circumstances. So. To keep me in this fucking chipper and compliant mood, I don’t think stopping for five minutes so I can piss in peace is a lot to ask for.”
“Hmm, he does have a point Ten,” the chatty one hummed.
Tenshaw just grunted.
But mercifully, a while later they came to a heavily wooded dip in the earth and Tenshaw led the group down into the thicket before flicking a hand towards the blonde. “Skeet, untie the spitfuck and let him piss. You have three minutes,” he added with a scowl towards Katsuki.
The chatty one, Skeet, leaned over to untie the rope knotted at the back of the saddle that held him secure then grabbed under Katsuki’s knee and yanked up hard, flipping him from the saddle with a startled yelp. His still horn attached wrists were the only thing that jerked him upright, keeping him from straight up eating dirt face first.
Growling at Skeet’s snigger of amusement, Katsuki found his feet to right himself then glared at the other male over the back of the animal. “Gonna get the hands too or you gonna drop my pants and hold my dick for me, you perv?”
“Skeet quit fuckin’ around, I wanna get back on the road,” Tenshaw snapped as Biki simply lit up a cigarette to watch the exchange boredly.
Skeet rolled his eyes but whipped out a knife to slice the bonds to the saddle horn. Still tied together but free from the horse at last.
“Try anything funny and you’ll get a bullet,” Biki deadpanned as the cha-chuck of a shell loading into a shotgun chamber sounded menacingly behind him.
“Yeah yeah, Jesus, just let me fucking pee,” Katsuki groused as he stumbled saddle sore legs towards a tree to turn his back and gratefully relieve his bladder, his mind running a mile a minute as he felt Biki’s gaze weigh heavy between his shoulder blades.
All of the horses were secured so that wasn’t an option. Though barefoot, his best chance was to run for it and hope Biki’s aim wasn’t the best in this heavily forested area and that gun fire would draw attention. Once he got to Rhodes and the sheriff office there, he’d be golden. Nevermind the fact that he actually had no idea how far he was from Rhodes, but he had to try.
Rough plan of action in mind, he finished up and turned to head back towards his horse. He stepped his foot into the stirrup and made to reach towards the horn to swing on, before suddenly twisting to instead smack his horse hard on the rump and pushing off of the startled beast to book it into the trees.
A chain of events rapidly played out. With a squeal his horse lashed out with its hind legs at Skeet’s mount at the sudden smack, which instinctively shied sideways to bodycheck into Biki’s horse just as he shot. The firearm roared as a bullet zinged into tree bark a few inches above Katsuki’s shoulder as swearing and chaos erupted from the three kidnappers.
“Don’t kill him you fucking moron! Get him, just leave him alive!”
Heart pounding, adrenaline lent speed to his bare feet as he crashed through the dense underbrush. Brambles and branches scratched and grabbed at skin and tore clothing as he bolted towards what he prayed was the direction of a main road. He heard the stuttering pounding of hoofbeats behind him, but thankfully in this thick of wood they weren’t able to rush after him as quickly as they’d like.
He dove over a fallen log just as another bullet whizzed off the bark at knee level. With his shoulder ducked as he hit the earth, he rolled smoothly back to his feet to continue to run. Who would have thought that parkouring all over the back alleyways and housetops of Saint Denis with some of the common street brats would actually be a useful pastime?
Suddenly, amidst the anxiety fueled fleeing, he noticed a spot where the trees thinned and an obvious pair of parallel dirt tracks tore into the earth from carts and wagons and horse hooves alike. Thank fuck, the road!
As he bolted towards it however, Katsuki was quickly realizing he couldn’t outrun them for long on open ground. His only chance was to maybe find a tree to climb and hope they drew enough attention to warrant investigation. If he could just somehow manage to do so with his wrists tied–
“Hyck!” tore from his lips as something snapped around his neck, yanking him off his feet and heavily onto his back, knocking his breath from his chest. Dragged through dirt and grass, he clawed desperately at the braided rawhide cruelly cinching around his throat, convulsing, choking, at the crushing of his windpipe and lack of oxygen.
“Thought you’d be slick, huh little spitfuck,” Tenshaw snarled as he backed his horse up to reel in his catch towards a waiting Biki, who was gleefully watching Katsuki’s face redden as he panic thrashed for air. “Nice try you slippery little shit.”
Another blow to his already abused head had Katsuki blacking out once more.

I’ll be starting my series of posts on the night offensive against Britain of 1940/41 shortly, so I thought it might be helpful to examine the opposing forces, starting with the Luftwaffe. I’ll look at the British defences next.
The overwhelming majority of German aircraft used during the Blitz were Heinkel 111s and Junkers 88s. Both had a relatively modest bomb load by later standards, to a maximum of 3,500kg and 3,000kg respectively; usual loads were somewhat less. Dornier 17s were also employed, but due to their limited range and bomb capacity, they were rapidly being phased out. The aircraft were initially crudely overpainted with black distemper for night operations, though over time more permanent camouflage was used.
As well as traditional ‘Dead Reckoning’ navigation or the use of visible landmarks, Luftwaffe crews also had various electronic aids. All bombers were fitted with ‘Knickebein’ receivers, which used converging radio beams to identify a target. But the Luftwaffe also established pathfinder squadrons, most notably Kampfgruppe 100, equipped with the more accurate X-Verfahren and Y-Verfahren. These would use incendiary bombs and parachute flares to illuminate targets for the main bomber force. In time, these electronic systems were successfully jammed, and the RAF learned important lessons for their future operations against Germany.
The standard German high explosive general purpose bomb of the period was the SC series, with the SC 50, SC 250 and SC 500 being the most commonly used. The number denotes their weight in kilograms. Only the first two could be loaded internally on the He111 or Ju88, with anything larger using external racks. Then came the SC1000 ‘Hermann’, SC1800 ‘Satan’ and finally the SC2500 ‘Max’. The last of these could only be carried by the Heinkel 111, and just two specially trained crews from KG26 were authorised to drop them.
Incendiary bombs were arguably the most destructive weapon employed by the Luftwaffe, especially in conjunction with high explosives. The standard 1 and 2kg bombs were packed into containers which split open to release them over the target. Though light, their velocity was enough to penetrate into roof spaces, where they could ignite undetected. Packed with thermite, they burned hot enough to melt through steel, but could be extinguished before doing significant damage if found in time. There was also the 250kg or 500kg Flammenbombe or ‘Flambo’, which used an oil incendiary mixture to ignite a much larger area. However, these often failed to explode and were largely discontinued in 1941.
Another important weapon in the Luftwaffe inventory was the 500kg or 1,000kg Luftmine, or parachute mine. These had been designed for use against naval targets, but proved highly effective, albeit inevitably inaccurate, on land. Consisting of 60-70% high explosive, they produced devastating blast damage across a wide area, as they didn’t penetrate the ground. A 25 second clockwork fuse was triggered on impact. In practice this was prone to failure, especially when the parachute caught on an obstacle, and a number of mines didn’t explode.

4) The 1kg incendiary, and its 2kg counterpart, was carried either by means of containers that were mounted on internal bomb racks, and released to open at a predetermined point, or from large pods, holding up to 700 bombs, that remained on the aircraft’s external pylons.

Tips for Storing and Aging Your Red Wine at The Fine Wine Company Ltd
Red wine aficionados understand that proper storage and aging are crucial for preserving and enhancing the flavor and quality of their favorite bottles. At The Fine Wine Company Ltd, we believe in providing our customers with the knowledge and resources they need to ensure their red wines reach their full potential. In this guide, we'll explore some essential tips for storing and aging red wine to perfection.
Introduction to Storing and Aging Red Wine
Storing and aging red wine is more than just a matter of convenience; it's an essential step in the wine-making process that can significantly impact the taste and aroma of the final product. When done correctly, aging allows the flavors to mellow and develop complexity, resulting in a more enjoyable drinking experience.
Tumblr media
Selecting the Right Storage Conditions
The first step in proper wine storage is creating the ideal environment for aging. Two critical factors to consider are temperature and humidity control, as well as minimizing light exposure and vibration.
Importance of Temperature and Humidity Control
Maintaining consistent temperature and humidity levels is paramount to preserving the integrity of red wine. Ideally, wines should be stored at temperatures between 55°F and 65°F (12°C and 18°C), with humidity levels around 70%. Fluctuations in temperature or humidity can accelerate the aging process or lead to premature spoilage, so it's essential to invest in a quality wine storage system that offers precise control.
Managing Light Exposure and Vibration
Exposure to light, especially sunlight and fluorescent light, can degrade wine quality by causing chemical reactions that alter the taste and aroma. Similarly, excessive vibration, such as that from nearby appliances or machinery, can disturb the sediment in the wine and disrupt the aging process. To minimize these risks, store your red wine in a dark, vibration-free environment, away from windows or high-traffic areas.
Choosing Suitable Containers for Long-Term Aging
Once you've established the right storage conditions, the next step is selecting the appropriate container for aging your red wine.
Types of Wine Storage Containers
Traditional wine cellars: Ideal for long-term aging, wine cellars provide a controlled environment with stable temperature and humidity levels.
Wine refrigerators and coolers: Suitable for smaller collections, wine refrigerators offer convenience and flexibility, allowing you to adjust temperature settings to accommodate different types of wine.
Wine cabinets and racks: Perfect for display purposes, wine cabinets and racks come in various sizes and designs to fit your aesthetic preferences while still providing adequate storage conditions.
Pros and Cons of Each Option
When choosing a storage container, consider factors such as capacity, insulation, and ventilation to ensure optimal aging conditions for your red wine. While traditional wine cellars offer unparalleled stability, wine refrigerators and cabinets are more practical for those with limited space or budget constraints.
Maintaining Proper Labeling and Inventory
Once your red wine is safely stored away, it's essential to keep track of each bottle's whereabouts and aging status. Proper labeling and organization can save you time and frustration when it comes time to select a bottle for special occasions or everyday enjoyment.
Regularly Monitoring and Sampling
Finally, don't forget to regularly check on your stored red wines to ensure they're aging gracefully. Look for any signs of cork deterioration, leakage, or off-putting odors, which could indicate spoilage or contamination. Additionally, periodically sample your wines to assess their development and readiness for consumption, taking note of any changes in flavor, aroma, or texture.
Conclusion
In conclusion, proper storage and aging are essential steps in maximizing the enjoyment of your red wine collection. By following the tips outlined above and investing in quality storage solutions, you can ensure that your wines age gracefully and reach their full potential. At The Fine Wine Company Ltd, we're committed to helping you preserve and savor the rich flavors of your favorite red wines for years to come. Cheers to good taste and impeccable aging!

5 Ways To Improve Warehouse Productivity
Tumblr media
A successful firm requires an effective warehousing system. It will help you save time and money by reducing waste. This will result in increased consumer trust due to the consistent services provided by your firm. As a result, increasing some aspects of your plan can boost your brand's efficiency while dealing with a multi-channel facility. You need to quickly increase your company's earnings and sales.
Maximize all available space: growing your vertical warehouse space is handier than expanding your company's footprint. Adding higher storage containers and machinery for picking and storing stuff will provide you more capacity in the same square footage, saving you money. Employing tiny racks is a waste of money; instead, utilise the same frames across your warehouse. For storing various materials, a variety of shelves is used. Use standardised containers to keep the shelves clean.
Lean inventory: Just as crucial as manufacturing is lean inventory. Just what you need is the underlying idea of lean. The emphasis is on delivering little quantities more frequently and reducing safety stockpiles.
Employ modern technology: A robust warehouse management system will increase the efficiency of your job by recommending the best routes and procedures for picking or putting away. Anyspaze warehouse ecommerce fulfillment provider automates pick lists that may be transmitted to mobile readers and devices to assist avoid errors and reduce wasted time and paper. The warehouse must be nice and tidy. In addition, the radio frequency and barcode are used for batter processing. This revolutionary technology has the potential to enhance transactions while minimising errors.
Arrange your workspace: The next step is to organise your workspace. This increases production since workers are not obliged to waste time looking for equipment and tools. This all helps to eliminate errors, increase safety, and keep the work flowing.
Optimize labour efficiency: The warehouse management system may generate efficient picking and packaging services that would otherwise be created manually. To eliminate travel time, save high volume times and apply the pattern. You should also save products that are regularly sold. Store goods that are regularly used to simplify your workflow and enhance your earnings.
Anyspaze offers a high-quality order picking process in warehouse where specialists offer high-quality customised storage solutions, where you may receive a 360-degree solution, from choosing the order to packaging it, storing it, and finally shifting it to the consumer.

Hishine breathed a sigh of relief as his keys rattled in the lock of his shop.  Entering, he winced.  His show cases had all been broken and his strongbox had been forced.
Slump shouldered, tears in his eyes at the wanton destruction, he turned to Dawn Fire, “Knife Holder, I am sorry.  I did have such a stone as you wished to buy.  As you can see, even with the indemnity that I got, I may be out of business.”
He opened a door to a back room.  Though there had been some vandalism, he rummaged about and straightened things up.  As he placed the last things onto racks in an orderly fashion, he noted, “My equipment is all here.  If I could get more of the raw stock, I can cut and polish more stones.”
Dawn Fire gave a bit of an evil grin, his ears pointed like horns! “First, do you have any sort of inventory for what was taken? Second, this property was under the care and FULL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY of Msgr Shire.  He has to make good the loss and damages!”
Hishine nodded slowly, “I see.  Yes, I can get the inventory.  I kept it at my lodgings to insure that a disaster or robbery at the shop could be documented for the Gandarmarie. “
“Wise of you, Hishine.  Get a cabinet worker to assess repair or replacement of your show cases.  Take the whole bill to the Shire bank.
“In the meantime, where can I obtain more of this amber for you to work?”
Hishine lowered his head a little in embarrassment.  “It is not too far from here.  There in the Weirdwood, I can show you the exact place, is a grove of Gumble Trees.  They not only drop the Gumble sap on whatever they feel is a threat, they can project it for a substantial distance.
“Whatever it hits, it encases in a lump of dull yellow gumble.  With proper treatment, cutting and polishing, it becomes the amber stones of my trade.”
Dawn Fire's wings were quivering with amusement.  “I take it that gathering the fallen gumble lumps is not so simple as it might seem!”
“Indeed. A number of ponies have died in that grove, trying to steal the gumble.  They get encased in it and then the grove absorbs them, gumble and all.  Sometimes, some of their equipment is left behind.”
Dawn Fire winced at the thought.  “How do you collect it then?”
Hishine chuckled, shaking his head sadly, “I don't.  Not any more.  I used to take a jointed rod with a rake end and a basket end to scoop up fallen gumble drops.  During my last two ventures, I nearly got taken myself.”
“I see.  If you knew what you were doing and the dangers, how did that happen?”
Hishine sat and found a bit of paper and a pencil.  He sketched as he explained, “The Gumble Grove is growing.  It sends vines out from its branches into nearby trees.  The vines drop creepers that take root to become narrow trunks that grow into new trees.  The vines look like this,” he pointed to his drawing, “and they can drop gumble on the unwary.  They are devilishly hard to see, too.”
“One last question, then.  How many of the drops catch bugs like the ones that I got from you before?”
Hishine leaned close and whispered conspiratorially, “I am giving away a deep secret with this.  Almost none have them.  I can see to the placing of the bug in the finished stone.  I have a nice middle sized dragon fly that can be set up, should you wish it.  The vandals missed my collection of dried bugs.”
Dawn Fire nearly doubled up laughing!  “Give me the collecting stick and I will see what may be done toward restocking your store!”
Following Hishine's directions, Dawn Fire ventured into the almost innocent looking Weirdwood.  He was well aware that it was no more innocent and no safer than the Everfree Forest of Equestria.  Some even said that there was some sort of hidden ways that connected the two and even other places about the world, all of ill repute, like these two.
The directions guided him without mishap to where he could see the Gumble Grove.  Well there was one small problem.  A quite large one for its kind, actually.  A horsefly!  The biting kind!  It was whurring as it buzzed about his head, trying to find a place to alight, long enough to deliver a painful bite!
He swatted at it repeatedly!  It dodged his flailing hoof with contemptuous ease!  He almost connected with it by swinging the folded collecting stick!  It dived, aiming for a sensitive ear!
Dawn Fire raised his lunch bag as an impromptu shield!
In the heat of battle with the bug, his hoof hit a gnarled root of the nearest Gumble Tree of the Grove! As he almost regained his balance, his enemy forced him to duck again! Already off balance, he toppled to the hard turf, lunch bag shield between him and the horsefly!
The poor sap was saved from the horsefly by a falling glob of yellow Gumble which hit and encased the vicious bug.  Dawn Fire scrambled frantically away from the deadly tree as more blobs of Magical Gumble fell!
One glob did hit his tail and partly encased it in solid Gumble Amber. He cautiously retrieved the collecting stick and, from safely out of the tree's danger zone, began collecting as many of the fallen drops and globs of the gumble resin as he could.  He was pleased to realize that he had obtained several kilograms of the raw amber resin.
He made his way back to the shop of Hishine.  “This is a wonderful lot, Knife Bearer!  With this, I can easily prepare the dragon fly stone that you want!”
“I hoped that you could!  This large lump has a really pesky horsefly in it!
“On a related note, can you get this out of my flank fur and tail?”
Hishine snorted, “By a number of means, all fun and amusing to watch. Embarrassing to experience, however.”  Going serious, he replied, “Yes.  It is not even difficult.  We just need a little cooking oil.  You will want a bath afterwards, though.”
Dawn Fire luxuriated in the bathing tub of the Three Little Pigs inn. Fleur laid on coffee and a pile of pastries set on a side table in easy reach of the bather.
“Good Sir, we are all so grateful for the miracle that you have worked!  We were in despair, most of the village's businesses were due to be closed.  The bank's agents made it clear that my friends would be working for slave wages in the businesses that they had owned.  None could understand how they had become so far into debit.”
As Dawn Fire sat in the tub and sucked down coffee and nibbled another croissant, he replied, “That is because they were not in debit. That conversion trick from Note of Payment to debit was simple fraud. I have heard from my connections that Msgr Shire has pled that he was forced to do it by the Duke.  He was clever enough to have papers that make it appear to be true.  They MIGHT even be genuine.”
Fleur giggled, “We of the town think not.  We are actively seeking another bank.   An honest one, if we can find it!”
Dinner was accompanied by almost every pony in Sudanweird crowded into the big tap room!  Dawn Fire had to plead, “I can't eat all of this!  I will be too heavy to fly for a week!”
In the morning, Fleur had his bowl of oat and barley gruel, with strawberries awaiting him.  And a plate of waffles with chocolate sauce and whipped cream!  And her endless and excellent coffee!
As he was leaving, she asked, “Sir, will you ever return to Sudanweird?  Know that if you do, your welcome here is assured.”
He bowed to her as he replied, “I do not know, Good Fleur.  I would like to return with no Royal errand or wrongs to right.  Your hospitality has been beyond compare.  Are you sure that you will take no money for my stay?  I do have it.”
“Good Sir, I doubt that your gold is good anywhere in this village.  We are that grateful for the good that you have done us.”
He strolled up the way to Hishine's shop.  The door was open and he could hear the sound of tools working wood.  Entering, he saw that Hishine had been busy last night.  One of his show cases was fully repaired and the cabinet worker was fixing another.  Wood shavings and sawdust littered the floor.
The repaired case had a dozen lovely golden glowing amber stones laid out to be seen behind the crystal clear glass.
A smiling Mister Hishine greeted him, “Knife Bearer!  I have your special order ready, right here!”  He pushed forward a larger case and a somewhat smaller one.
Opening the larger case, Dawn Fire beheld a lovely perfectly cut amber stone, glowing with a pool of golden light.  Trapped in it, perfectly centered, was a modest sized dragon fly, wings spread and body showing iridescent green!  Dawn Fire's breath was taken away by the excellence of of it!
“What is this other one?  I only ordered this and it is perfect.  What do I owe you for it?”
Seriously, Mister Hishine replied, “You have paid me already.  You restored my shop and home.  You brought me a supply of amber to get my shop started.”  He smiled jubilantly as he added, “And you got that crooked Duke jailed!”
He pushed the smaller box forward.  “This is yours with my thanks. Please take it.”
Dawn Fire opened the case.  There, trapped for all time, preserved exactly as it had been was a big horsefly, forever on the attack!  The stone was finished with as much care as the other.
Nodding, Dawn Fire accepted the tribute!  He snickered, “You won't have my money, fine.  I do have something else that you did like last time that I was here!”
Opening his travel carrying box, he poured out onto the counter the whole small chest of Rom Ka'chek pastries!  There were apricot, peach and some berry ones!
Eyes wide and mouth drooling, Mister Hishine nodded, “I can take these! Thank you!”
Dawn Fire swept the boxes with their stones of amber into the travel case, bowed to Mister Hishine, who was already nibbling at an apricot Ka'chek, and took his leave.
