Naomi & Issac - 1

Remember these guys? Well I fleshed those suckers out. Prepare for suffering y'all.

CW: Pet whump, vampires, death mention, a lot of blood mentions, whumpee thinks caretaker is their new master

Naomi had been pacing for hours trying to rationalize what she did. ‘This is the best option,’ They told themself, “At least this way, I can make sure I’m getting blood ethically. No one has to die.’ They knew they had to drink something. When she first turned, she was quick to dress like the vampire she was and cut their hair to show off their bite. She loved the idea of being dark and mysterious, living as a cryptid- a beast. It sounds strange, but a part of her was excited to start living a vampiric life- well, maybe “life” isn’t quite right.

Then came the fading from mirrors and nausea from eating anything at all. Having to blow eighteen-hundred bucks on a casket was a bit of a gut punch. As were the several blackout curtains they needed to avoid third-degree sunburns. It was annoying to have to sell her silver jewelry and even more so to break out in hives when even slightly near a single fucking garlic clove–

But they could deal with all that. They could bite the bullet in exchange for immortality.

No one told Naomi that blood cravings were the very last step in turning.

Just when they had gotten used to waking up a 8pm in a box, right as they had grown accustomed to guessing what their hair and makeup might look like, exactly when the worst of it seemed to be over, there was this pit in their stomach. They were so thirsty. Before resorting to humans, they tried draining raw meat. Nothing. Then a live pig. It didn’t do much. They knew this would happen, of course it would, but they hadn’t expected it to be this painful, and they definitely didn’t know the blood had to be human.

So, they researched how to get human blood. And sure, you can buy a little legally from donors, but it was so far outside their budget that is was barely even an option. But the cheaper alternatives, aimed at vampires specifically, seemed so needlessly cruel. For every new company she could find, she asked how they supplied their blood. The response was always the same. Humans would be hooked up to IVs, blood coming out of one, and saline coming in from the other. Sometimes they ere given solid food, but at most places, they used a feeding tube. Naomi almost quit, residing themself to finding and extra $700 for 100 tiny milliliters- but then they saw one more hyperlink.

“Stop paying for subscriptions! Buy a living Bloodbag today!” Exactly as she thought, they were selling humans. She was disgusted at first, but, then she thought about it more. These people were being drained of their blood anyway, so if she buys one, at least they’ll be treated humanely? Maybe it was the thirst talking for them, but they decided to purchase a person.

They couldn’t afford another massive dent in their bank account, so they scrolled all the way down to the cheapest one. A twenty-seven year old man named Issac Rivera, blood type O+. That, and his picture, was the only information available. He was pale and sickly with blue eyes and tangled brown hair. He had blue eyes and it looked like he had finished crying moments before the photo was taken. Naomi hoped they were making the right choice.

Which is what landed them here. Waiting for the poor boy to be delivered straight to their door. She had tried to make herself look nonthreatening. She didn’t want to scare him. They wore the mast casual and normal clothes in their dresser and pulled their hair into a little baby ponytail.

A knock on the door.

It was an older looking man dressed in all black and carrying a parasol in one hand and a rolling suitcase in the other. Oh gods.

“Naomi Castillo?” He asked.

“That’s me.” They smiled. Their eyes wouldn’t leave the suitcase, since they were fairly certain that there was a person in there. He handed it over and she felt him kick.

“If you ever need training or extraction tools, they are available on our site.” It keeps getting worse.

“Of course, thank you.” Naomi hoped their smile looked real. The man walked away and she quickly unzipped the case.

Issac had been sold. He never thought it would happen. He had occasionally been compared to cheap box wine. Perhaps the vampire that bought him wanted something quick and inexpensive. The conversation between his captor and his new owner was muffled, but he felt the case he was in change hands. He instinctively covered the arteries on his neck. She was saying something, but he wasn’t listening. He knew exactly what would happen- she would rip his hand from him neck and drain what little he had left.

A hand touched his, and he braced for impact. But, he was being led away. Before he could question it, he was sat down on something soft. He hadn’t opened his eyes yet and he wasn’t planning on it. Next thing he knew, something cold was against his lips. Taking just a small peek, it was a water bottle. He shouldn’t trust it, but his mouth was so dry that he just let it go down his throat.

After the bottle pulled away, he waited for the pain of the bite. He waited and waited, but nothing came. Eventually, he opened his eyes and looked at the vampire next to him, as if he was asking her what she was waiting for. But they just smiled at him.

“Can you speak?” That wasn’t expected. He used to get told off for talking to himself.

“Yeah…” His voice was raspy. They handed him back the bottle.

“Okay, great, um, I’m Naomi!” They gestured to themself. Issac was going to introduce himself, but they already would have known. “Are you hungry?” Naomi arose from the sofa when he nodded, “I don’t have much, I got rid of most of the perishable stuff when I turned. Do you want… dry cereal? I can maybe put it in water- no that sounds gross.” Issac accidentally gave her a look. She was different from the other vampires he had the displeasure of knowing. A bit more dazed and certainly less elegant.

“Just… dry is fine.” He said. He had no reason to trust them, but he hadn’t had real, solid food in such a long time that if she was planning on drugging him, then he could live with that. He ate in completely awkward silence as Naomi tired not to make eye contact. Internally, Issac was panicking. Yes, he had been trained just in case he was sold, but he hadn’t been for such a long time that he barely even remembered it. Hopefully it would come rushing back to him when he was properly fed and rested.

“Uh, I put a mattress in a spare room. Do you wanna go to bed?” It’s like they read his mind. Can vampires read minds? He didn’t know. He was tired. He nodded.

She led him away gently, and closed the door, leaving him alone in the makeshift bedroom. He didn’t have the energy to consider what was going to happen to him. Naomi was weird. Maybe it wasn’t even real. He’s had these kind of dreams before. Maybe when he wakes up he’ll be back in the facility with needles in his arms and a tube down his nose. Or maybe he’ll wake up here and she’ll peirce him with her fangs. He always wondered what a real bite would feel like. It would probably hurt worse than the needle.

Whatever. He could worry about that when he can keep his eyes open.

Hello everyone Ricky Goldman here.

Its Unstoppable wrestling:Turf Wars.

1st match is Issac North vs The Green Phantom for the Canadian heavyweight title. After the bell rings Isaac went right after Green Phantom and beat him down. Green Phantom did get back into it as the crowd cheered him on. He hits a big stomp followed by a DDT on North. Issac into it again as he battles back with big power moves. Issac hits a sit down power bomb but to no avail as the champion fights back. My 1st look at Green Phantom here as he hits a falcon arrow to retain.

Next match is Gia Adam's vs Rebecca Resnar in the semi finals to crown a number one Contender for a shot at the British Bombshell title. Out comes Lance Rivera and Stacey Rose it's now a triple threat match and it's now for the British Bombshell title. Stacey stayed outside the ring as Rebecca and Gia went at it but not for long as she quickly got in on the action. Rebecca is down so Gia and Stacey go at it but Resnar quickly gets back into it and fights the champion. Stacey quickly gets back into,dispatches of Rebecca,hits a clothesline on Gia,covers her and retains.

Next match is Rob Drake vs Daz Black. My 1st look at Daz here this evening. Rob the bigger men of the 2 very much in control here just over powering Daz at every turn. Daz fod fight back and got back into it pulling out some high flying moves. Daz hits an F5 like move but to no avail Rob spits at Daz which sends him into a frenzy Daz reigns down fits onto Rob but Rob fights out,chokes Daz,hits a DDT and covers him for the win.

Onto the next match its Jet Martial vs Dave vs Lance Revera vs Leon Slater vs Big Guns Joe in a fatal five way elimination match for the UBW Airborne title. A new title here in UBW. Joe and Jet battle in the ring as Leon and Dave go after Lance outside ring but Lance quickly gets back in the ring but not for long as here comes Leon and now Dave is back in. Leon and Jet with a suicide dive and then Dave jumps onto the other 4 men. My 1st look at Lance in action here. Dave eliminated 1st by Joe. The action came down to Jet and Lance but here comec Joe to eliminate Jet by tap out. Leon back in on the action and taking it to both remaining men. A roll up from Leon eliminates Lance but Lance and Joe beat down Leon. It's now one on one. Leon trying everything he can but he can't put away Joe. Back and forth action from Joe and Leon,Joe almost with the pin here but Leon kicks out,takes it to the top,hits a frog splash and wins the Airborne title. A good match here.

Next it is Crash Boat vs Wing Commander Nash and Magnificent Matt Fox. I would expect this to be a quick co.rcy match. Crash Boat are good at being heels. This was very slow paced to begin with. Apparently the action went to VAR and a penalty was called well we are here in Turf Moor after all. Matt and Nash brought a goal into the ring, Jake Silva in net and Matt tried to score but missed. Crash Boat quickly make it serious again but not for long as Jack drip kicks Matt's knee,gets a red card and gets sent off. Its 2 on 1 now. Here comes Jack back into the match but Matt takes care of him. A double splash from the 2nd rope ends this and gives Wing Commander Nash and Matt Fox the victory.

Its MAIN EVENT time. Its Philip Micheal vs Big T Justice for the UBW title. Phillip said he would have a new attitude coming into this and he certainly tried to show it early on going right after the champion but Big T quickly beat him down. Phillip did try to battle back but Big T quickly cut him off once again. Slow paced action from the champion. Phillip did get back into this but the champion turned it around but couldn't put Phillip away. Phillip got back into again and took it to the champion with high flying moves. Big T almost gets a 3 count which makes him angry. The action spilled out the ring but quickly back in where Philip hits a Canadian destroyer and a frog splash but to no avail here. He hooks on a guillotine which the champion fights out of it. Phillip takes it to the top rope,hits a sunset flip,covers Big T and wins back the gold. Good match here.

This was a decent show and I give it 5 stars out of 10.

I arise from my slumber bearing original characters.

I've been on a bit of a vampire kick lately and accidentally made these silly little guys.

Left is Naomi Castillo (she/they), a recently turned vampire who fully embraced the aesthetic, but is having a hard time getting used to the whole drinking blood thing.

Right is Issac Rivera (he/him), a human captured to be used as a bloodbag. He's jumpy and distrustful and just a little bit brainwashed.

Naomi's heart gets the best of them and they buy the poor boy from his captors. Cue classic "whumpee thinks caretaker is their new master" but with the added spice that said caretaker needs human blood to survive.

Lightening Tartalgia: youngest Tartalgia, power over energy, super speed. Energetic, outgoing, friendly.

Fog Tartalgia: Middle child of Tartalgia family, twin brother to Storm. Power over all gasses and vapors. Quiet, kind, wise.

Storm Tartalgia: Middle Child of Tartalgia family, twin brother to Fog. Power over weather. Loud, arrogant, secretly a cinnamon roll.

Kujo: Second oldest of Tartalgia family, twin brother to Zoey. Blunt, dry, helpful. Can know everything about an item by touching it, and will know expertly how to use it.

Zana: Second youngest of Tartalgia family, twin sister to Hail, power over water and liquids, equally as shy as Hail if not more so.

Zoey: Second oldest of Tartalgia family, twin sister of Kujo, control over plants and animals. Mischievous and naughty, but still someone to trust.

Hero: eldest of Tartalgia family. Power of adapting to any situation (nearly infinite powers). Outgoing, positive, conceited, loves himself.

Pops: Possibly immortal old man, Looks like 60, but is as healthy as a 30 year old. Street brawler, travels with Launa.

Launa Dandies: Descendant of Waters. Can’t be harmed. Sociopath, angry at everything.

Taurus: Minotaur like being, greatest enemy is Hood, wants to envelop the world in eternal night.

Number43: almost clone of Aaron. An attempt to repeat the success that is Aaron in making ultimate weapon.

Grave Digger: older than time, is death, grim reaper, and the grave all at once. Always drinking.

Arnold: The Graveyard Cat. Zombie cat with the power of decay. Experiment of 100 Project

Ronny: The hellhound, control over darkness and fire. Experiment of 100 project

Damian: Giant Golden Flying Fox, A big ass fruit bat. Kind, gentle, not sure where he is. Clings to Digger

Lord Harlston: Victorian era gentlemen revived as a half plant, half zombie, very kind and polite. Hates rude un-gentlemanly people.

Pedro Gonzalez: former CEO, current Hero of Mexico, very strong boxer, rival to Mr. Hicks.

The Matador: Alfonzo Rivera, fighter, uses a sword and two bull fighting spears.

CON GRAN ÉXITO SE DESARROLLA: EXPO EMPRENDE TEC 2021

Con el objetivo de promover en la comunidad del Instituto Tecnológico de Durango (ITD), la cultura emprendedora, a través de la exposición de proyectos, conferencias y paneles empresariales, se llevó a cabo la expo EmprendeTec 2021.

Este evento contó con la participación de los alumnos guindi-blancos que presentaron sus proyectos emprendedores encaminados a cumplir alguno de los 17 objetivos del desarrollo sostenible de la Agenda 2030 de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas.

Isela Flores Montenegro directora del ITD, agradeciendo la participación de los estudiantes, recalcó el apoyo que este evento tuvo por parte del Gobierno Estatal por medio de la Secretaria de Desarrollo Económico, la Subsecretaria de Educación Media-Superior y Superior y los empresarios duranguenses que promueven el desarrollo de la institución por medio del Consejo de Vinculación.

Durante el desarrollo de este evento se impartieron tres conferencias magistrales con Sthepanie López, fundadora de Memorick; Jesús Diez, CEO y experto en publicidad y Cristian Mijares, campeón supermosca de boxeo; además del FuckUp® con Tao Rivera, Michelle Hernández y Gerardo García. Los proyectos ganadores de este encuentro son:

Y TODO EL JAZZ...

En la pantalla del gran reloj electrónico se podían ver dibujados claramente los números 18:30, el Teatro Telcel de la CDMX estaba lleno de euforia, emoción, risas, platicas y alegría que se podía sentir en el aire, justo un instante después de que esta hora fuera marcada, una joven grito “por favor hagan una fila para ir ingresando” la gente empezó a levantarse de los asientos del jardín, tomaban un ultimo sorbo a sus bebidas y entremeses y se formaban rápidamente. Al bajar de las escaleras eléctricas se podía ver una gran marquesina de luces brillantes, en el centro de esta grandes letras que formaban la palabra CHICAGO, los colores rojo, blanco y negro adornaban los accesos al teatro, las personas mostraban sus boletos emocionados, el olor a palomitas recién hechas inundaba el lugar, en el fondo un stand con diversos objetos se veían exhibidos, un pequeño recuerdo para una gran ocasión.

Al ingresar al teatro, podías sentir ese éxtasis de estar en un lugar tan majestuoso, las personas empezaban a tomar asiento, algunos cuchicheaban y decían “Hemos esperado tanto para esto” “Amo esta obra”, a la mitad de la sala rodeados de fanáticos, familias y medios, se podían ver a los temidos críticos ¿Qué publicaran mañana? Era la pregunta que rondaba en la boca de mucha gente y es que a pesar de ser una de las obras mas alabadas y amadas en la industria del teatro musical y ser un icono de Broadway, esta vez para México no seria nada fácil complacer a los amantes de este ámbito y a sus críticos, ya que muchos creían que habían iniciado con el pie izquierdo desde que se anuncio el elenco de la misma meses atrás.

“El regreso al teatro de Biby Gaytán” a nadie le había parecido que la ex timbiriche representara a la icónica Velma Kelly, en la nueva adaptación de Chicago y es que ¿Tendría el talento suficiente para llenar el personaje que Catherine Zeta Jones, Chita Rivera, Pía Douwes y la mismísima “reina del teatro en México” Bianca Marroquín abrían interpretado años atrás? Por otra parte el segundo protagónico la querida y nada tonta Roxy Hart seria interpretada por María León y aunque María es bastante querida en el ámbito teatral, también se dudaba en gran medida si podría llenar este papel.

Morris Gilbert, uno de los productores mexicanos más importantes de teatro en los últimos tiempos, hace presencia en le escenario, con micrófonos en mano y una sonrisa de oreja a oreja empieza pregunta noche como se encuentra el publico esta mágica noche, lo feliz que hace ver el traro lleno y recibiendo el apoyo que esperaba a esta pieza del teatro musical, narra un poco de como se hizo Chicago, sus creadores Fred Ebb y Bob Fosse pusieron alma y corazón en esta singular obra, nos cuenta como a través de los años el musical se a convertido en un referente al teatro y al mismísimo Broadway, es una de las obras con mayor trayectoria ininterrumpida en Nueva York y aunque sea tu sexta vez viéndola (como en su caso) siempre quieres regresar una vez más, termina agradeciendo a las prensa, los críticos, la orquesta bajo la dirección de maestro Issac Saúl, a su ensamble, a María, Biby, Pedro y Michelle, por ser sus protagonistas y creer en este proyecto, por ultimo a los fans que han estado siempre “pasando por un diluvio (El diluvio que viene), escuchando el rock and roll (Rock of Ages), recordando la música de ABBA (Mamma Mia), visitando la sabana africana (El rey León), volando por la Ciudad Esmeralda (Wicked) y miles de aventuras más que nos han hecho vibrar, llorar, reir, empatizar, creer y soñar, es momento de trasladarnos a 1924 a la ciudad de Chicago, en donde el Jazz era el pan de cada día y las mujeres asesinas estaban a la vuelta de la esquina, esta es tercera llamada, tercera”

Como si de un apagón se tratara el lugar se queda en completa oscuridad y silencio, los aplausos podrían oírse a kilómetros y cuando por fin cesan un poco, se escucha el chirriar de un sax, como si de un músico callejero en plenos años 20s se tratara, seguido de un “five, six, seven, eight...” para darnos a entender que efectivamente ya no estamos más en la CDMX, nos trasladamos varias décadas atrás al vibrante Chicago, el rojo telón se abre de pronto y podemos ver que la orquesta no esta en la fosa de los músicos, esta en el escenario, siendo parte clave del espectáculo, todos estan de traje negro y ambientados a la época en donde ahora nos encontramos, cuando empieza a terminar “Overture” , casi instantáneamente empieza a sonar el inicio de “All that Jazz” y entonces del piso aparece la Velma Kelly que estábamos esperando, los bailarines empiezan a salir y al compas de la actriz comienzan a hacer la icónica coreografía “Anda y ven prendamos la ciudad... y todo el Jazz...rodilla con rubor la media a la mitad y todo el Jazz...” entona Biby con un tono sarcástico, coqueto y sensual, adjetivos distintivos de su personaje, al terminar el numero una oleada de aplausos inundan el teatro, las criticas serán favorables, siguiente a esto comienzan la escena que da inicio a la historia y aparece nuestra querida Roxy Hart con “Funny Honey” otro aplauso que podría escucharse a kilómetros de distancia; Pedro Moreno hace su entrada en el papel de el excéntrico abogado Billy Flynn, siguiente a esto uno de los números más esperados de la noche “Cell Block Tango” aquí vemos a las querida Mama Morton interpretada por la actriz Michelle Rodríguez, otra de las canciones más esperadas es “Roxy” la cual genera una ovación de pie solo para terminar el primer acto.

El segundo acto inicia, la historia nos tienen atrapados, la música, el ambiente y el jazz no te dejan ni siquiera parpadear, ya para el final de la obra, tenemos una de las (según los Tony Awards) mejores canciones y coreografías de todos los siglos “Nowadays/Hot Honey Rag” con nuestras protagonistas en un dueto magistral, este numero da fin a nuestro viaje, el telón cierra y comienza “Finale” salen a dar gracias primero los bailarines con un trabajo deslumbrante, seguidos del ensamble no hay palabras para describir lo que acaban de hacer, Pedro y Mich de la mano agradecen al publico y por ultimo nuestras chicas de oro o como bien podríamos describirlas las “Chicago’s own killer diller’s” Roxy Hart y Velma Kelly, una nueva ovación inunda el lugar, todo el elenco agradece, el telón cierra y estamos de vuelta a la CDMX es 16 de Octubre de 2019, dejamos atrás a Chicago y los años 20s, nuestro viaje termino, pero la magia sigue y todo el jazz.
