I may or may not have realized something related to In Space with Markiplier.
Engineer!Mark said that the only other person he trusted the most was the Captain.
Engineer!Mark also built the warp core.
Now, with this in mind, recall when the Captain first found the warp core.
The warp core itself trusted the Captain to resolve the time-space paradox we got ourselves into.
If you think about it, this could be Engineer!Mark's statement of trusting the Captain still ringing true despite his distrust to the Captain before engaging the warp core.
Even if he thought that the Captain was the reason why the events of ISWM happened, he still subconciously trusted the Captain enough to resolve everything.
It wasn't just our hopeful persistence that saved the time-space continuum and The Invincible — it was Engineer!Mark's faith in the Captain that helped in resolving everything.
Markiplier may say this is about "the illusion of choice," but this is just as much about deep relationships that lead to a deep level of trust.
Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever realized about this.
Do you like In Space With Markiplier? Do you like Picrew? Do you have or want a captainsona? Let me know!
For those of you that don't know, Picrew is an avatar making app/website that lets artists upload their own avatar makers- and I'm making one for ISWM captains!
I'm a very ambitious person, so if I let myself, I will make twenty different options for hair- I worked on it a lot yesterday and ended up with twelve different styles for each mouth expression...
Anyway, if I go all in on this, it'll be a huge project with tons of options. But I don't want to spend probably over thirty hours (and that's a conservative estimate) if no one would use it. So let me know if this is something you'd like to see, and I'll keep y'all updated.
Please like this post if you're interested in the picrew, and reblog it to spread the word!
Also, if you'd be interested in joining a taglist for updates on this, let me know!
I don’t think anything has surpassed the experience of watching In Space part 1 for the 1st time. To see how far Mark has come in film making, having been there for Date and Heist.
For then, as the plot picks up, to get thrown right into the deep end of it as Mark dies right before your eyes and you have to take charge of the experience for the first time on your own.
Really, nothing has ever as immediately immersed me into a story as that first choise.
i hate how often i get really into a piece of media that was by no means small, but not mainstream either so all the fanwork was everywhere for a few months before drying up. i'm starting to scrape at the bottom of the ao3 tags, i can't tell if it's okay to leave a like on a year-old tumblr post. i hate it.
so anyways, my iswm brainrot is back °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
Darkiplier and Warfstache are trapped in a world where aliens have conquered everything and have turned everyone into zombie-like creatures. The dynamic duo must find the way to stop the threat, but first... Let's have a martini.
I had so much fun drawing this. I had an old sketch of Darkiplier and Warfstache and I wanted to make it into a poster or comic book cover.
