I’ve got a question, what if Viserys could only father girls? What would be Otto’s winning throne strategies then if no force on that planet could have Viserys make a male heir?

When you consider the Otto Hightower Master Plan, he’s really got two main goals: getting his bloodline on the iron throne and keeping daemon out of power. His commitment to getting Rhaenyra off the throne is really an extension of those two goals.

If Alicent and Viserys only have girls, he can still accomplish both of those things, just less directly. The easy way out is just positioning one of the girls to marry Jace at all costs and planning on micromanaging any great-grandkids that come out of that. The rest of the kids would probably get used as political bargaining chips to secure the necessary alliances to protect themselves for when Daemon inevitably makes a move.

I guess if he still wanted to go full usurper mode, he’d make girl aegon marry a close ally and then push their kids over rhaenyra’s like it was a great council with the argument that rhaenyra’s are bastards. It’s messier, less of a chance it’s work, and also does nothing to prevent a war, so don’t really think it would be likely.

I really feel like some of you genuinely think that if all billionaires died tomorrow the world would magically be a better place. Their wealth doesn’t come with a will ensuring it’s redistributed fairly across the planet - it goes to their kin or organizations of their choice. The systems that allowed such vile people to maintain their status will still exist. 4 dead billionaires isn’t this victory you think it is - there’s 4 new billionaires inheriting their wealth and status. Killing every billionaire would just shuffle the pieces and players, it wouldn’t change the game.
