Do you guys ever think about how Akechi and Akira are like the Moon and the Ocean?

Cause I do.

I think a lot about how, like the ocean, akira is constantly trying to reach out to akechi who, like the moon, is too far away to ever reach. The moon's gravitational pull is what causes the ocean's tides to rise as high as they do. I've heard some people say it's like the ocean is trying to reach the moon, but it never will no matter how high it's tides are. Which made me think about Akira and Akechi because isn't that the exact same thing they go through.

Akira is a lot like the ocean in the sense that to a lot of people think he's mysterious and seems dangerous but the people he's close to love him more than anything. He's a leader, someone who's there for others, a soothing presence that people can turn to and interact with.

Whereas akechi is a lot like the moon because he's essentially the opposite. Everyone admires the moon from far away, we're stuck on earth so the only way to see the moon is through a lense or on a screen we never actually see it up close with our own eyes. Despite this it's admired by many much like how akechi has many admirers. He has hundreds of supporters who think he's elegant and intelligent, he's admired by many from afar. Despite these supporters akechi, like the moon, is alone. He's so removed from the world he's practically in space. He's never had a proper connection with anyone at least until he met akira.

Akira was Akechi's first real connection outside of Sae and even she didn't fully know him. Akira was constantly reaching out to akechi, trying to understand and help him becasue he knew something was wrong.

Despite his efforts he couldn't keep akechi, no matter how hard he tried, what he said or did differently it was never enough. Akira and akechi aren't meant to be together no matter how much they want to be. The universe decided they would be kept apart no matter what and any reality where they get to be together isn't meant to exist, we see that in P5R's 3rd semester.

So akira and akechi are like the moon and the ocean in the sense that no matter how hard they try, how desperate they are or how much they fight for it they will never be together. Not in this life or the next.

thoughts on canon-compliant akeshu accomplice aus

All started by a random tweet on twitter that I did not agree with lol Prefacing with the obligatory 'this is all fiction, do whatever you want with fanfics and AUs, my word is not the be all end all, Im just a guy talking about my opinions.' I like to pride myself on being the kind of guy who does not really hate anything, and I generally am! ..But Akechi and Joker Accomplice AUs are genuinely one of those things I cannot really fully get on board with. I read them from time to time because its fun to see where things could have gone, but I feel like Im doing such a disservice to their canon characters whenever I do. A pivotal part of their dynamic is that they will continue to work against each other because neither are willing to give up their goals and morals, because that's what they prioritize above all else. It's is quite literally why the whole game happened. If Akechi was any less focused on his goals, the game wouldn't have happened. Akechi prioritizes his quest to take Shido down above everything, just like Joker prioritizes doing what he thinks is right and helping people. Alongside that, they both hold a lot of mutual respect for the other and their relationship as rivals. Allowing the other to sacrifice his goals would be a disservice to them both. If joker accepted that "offer" (in quotations, because I do not believe Akechi was serious about it, instead just trying to confirm Joker's unwillingless to back down,) it would mean Joker would go against everything the PTs had done and be turning against his friends. The whole reason Akechi respects Joker is because he is so wholeheartedly good! He admires jokers ability to make friends and hold on to his goals just like Akechi does. To be Akechi's perfect opposite. He would never let Joker give that up. It would be spitting in the face of their entire dynamic. Realistically, I could see an Accomplice AU working if it meant neither Joker or Akechi gave up anything. If Akechi was able to open up about his problem with Shido, I do think it's possible for them to maybe come to a conclusion. But that would mean both of them actually sitting down and talking instead of playing elaborate games that mirror real life counterparts and talking in riddles.

I do like Accomplice AUs sometimes I just do not think it would ever happen canonically, which is my issue with the tweet I saw and the reason for this rant.

There are not enough Mpreg Parent Akeshu fics

I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed.

it's not like there's zero. There are some, but not nearly enough or I'm not looking in the right tags.

There's especially HUGE missed potential that not enough people utilize.

I've seen wholesome Akiren as a parent. Seems everyone is in agreement he'd be the chillest, awesomest, father.

But what about Akechi?

Goro "I had a bad childhood, no father figure, Mom passed away when I was young leaving me to grow up in either Foster Homes or the closest living relatives the Social Worker could track down. Who took me in but didn't want me. so I grew up to mask my true nature by being polite on the outside and a celebrity to get some form of positive attention, and I tracked down my deadbeat father who I'm going to ruin the life and career of out of spite and vengeance, for me and my late Mother." Akechi.

The man has childhood baggage, who knows how many young children he's interacted with as an adult. So his experience would range from "limited" to "none existent"

If one of these boys wouldn't take to being a parent well immediately, it would be Akechi. Like, the man is having an external crisis, he's not okay.

14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

the renification of akira's personality, to steal a term from my sibling. akira is genuinely one of the most interesting characters in persona 5 but people characterize him in the most boring ways. i blame the terrible anime for this. genuinely the only fic i've ever read that nails him is daredevil, you've hit the wall, and that's a travesty. git gud you guys. write this man as complexly as he deserves. you make akeshu so boring by turning akira into a self insert! he's got a whole personality you guys!! stop ignoring it because the anime made him boring!

18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...

harugoro friendship. or at the very least harugoro INTERACTION for fuck's sake. i'm so damn tired of seeing all these goro redemption fics erase haru from existence. sometimes it's fine and appropriate for the tone or purpose of the fic, but i draw the line when it does include futaba. don't get me wrong, i adore futabagoro friendship as much as the next guy, but are we seriously going to pretend their dynamic isn't just as complicated as it would be with haru? there are so many interesting and complex ways we could approach how haru and goro deal with each other post canon but everyone has decided to not explore it at all instead. it's cowardly and disappointing as hell. haru deserves better than this. she's already sidelined in canon, let's not do it to her in our fanon too.

i want to see haru dealing with her anger. i want to see goro struggle to be sorry. i want to see haru extend kindness despite it all, and i want to see how goro responds to that. i want to see the two of them dealing with their own mixed feelings toward their fathers in opposite ways and the clashing that comes from it. i want to see goro angry at haru for "forgiving" her father and her explaining she's done nothing of the sort, and i want to see haru call goro out when he claims he doesn't and never did love his own father. i want to see them talk about how they both wanted to be heroes! about how neither of them ever can be the ideal heroes they idolized! they could be so good for each other. they could be so terrible to each other.

please for the love of god let's explore their complicated and tragic dynamic that has so much potential for both goodness and hurt instead of insisting that the kindest phantom thief would cut him off and never speak to him again! SHE WOULD NOT FUCKING DO THAT!

They’re definitely super shallow before the third semester—and yes I do think they got together before Akechi’s betrayal—but Akechi was like super sweet and flirty. The tables definitely turned after they reunited. Ren is SUCH a flirt oh my god and it totally rubs off on Akechi after they start to get used to each other again. They are so smug and I think Goro actually initiates most of their intimate moments ;)

In my eyes, Ren is like the complete opposite of the toxically masculine man. He’s super comfortable with his sexuality (I hc him as bi, of course). He definitely plays around with his gender identity, not really giving a shit about clothes and gender norms. He’s confident yet shy at times and a total sweetheart. He’s the type of man who stops to pet every cat he sees. He picks flowers and makes coffee every morning for his Honey (Goro). He is the perfect person.

And Akechi loves him so, so much.

I cannot stop thinking about how well Akira and Makoto get along, tease each other, learn more about themselves, and have developed since they got together. Their chemistry is off the charts and I cannot express through words alone how much I adore your Akira. I can't forget Yu and Chie either! They're just starting and I'm so excited to see what kind of romantic relationship those two develop, and of course...the eventual Naoto and Yu ship we're building up to as well! :3

@chibitantei - Liz, I'm astounded how much you made me crave for rare-pair ships. I would never have guessed how interesting and dynamic Chie/Naoto can be together considering they are EXTREME polar opposites. I love how she's loosened up since getting together with him, and embracing more of an inner feral side she tends to keep hidden. Their chemistry is just...so natural and feels like a real-life relationship. I adore those two and hold them close to me. <3

@electricea - I know we briefly touched on it, but I'm still interested and very excited to see a relationship blossom between Ryuji and Makoto. They have a very similar dynamic in some ways while there are various differences between them as well. I'm so so ready to see these two begin crushing on each other!

@maskuerade and @detectivcprince - I adore their Akechi/Akira ship a lot. It's more refreshing than a lot of the Akeshu I tend to see on Twitter or elsewhere online. There's so much support behind the characters, there's build-up that I've seen happen where they try extending that help to the other, and...I really enjoy seeing the domestic aspect of their lives together. It's always a nice read when I see them answer a thread.

@chibitantei and @fatexbound - Your Naoto/Yosuke and Naoto/Yu. Those are goals for the ships we have planned!

I post around 70% of my art, I think. The rest are sketches I did just to pass the time, D&D art for campaigns that I'm in, and miscellaneous drawings for the discord server I'm in with a bunch of friends :)

All the time!!! I usually try to listen to a spotify mix that has the mood of the thing I want to draw. I have several akeshu playlists that I use quite often, too!

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

I really, really love painterly stuff, like the pieces by mafuyuakgae, yuumei, and samdoesarts. I don't paint a lot at all, but when I do I try to emulate their looser brush strokes and emphasis on gestures... Such pretty styles that are quite the opposite of how I always do hard lines!!

any relationship with a 1:1 ratio of emo to prep falls somewhere on this spectrum. Akeshu has a higher content of tragedy, and so it falls in the purple zone. While Lawlight has massive angry ‘my crazy matches your crazy’ vibes, and so it lands in the red. Prideshipping lands right in the middle, with an equal share of anger to sadness. Also I just realized after making this that if you put Akechi and Kaiba on opposite ends of a sliding scale based on appearances Light would be right in the middle.
