Something about having absolutely no choice in who you marry. About being literally forced by the law to spill blood - to accept this stranger as your husband over a man you truly care for or accept the fact that the man you love might die because you put him in danger. Something about risking becoming the wife of a man you've never even seen before a few minutes prior because you know anything would be better than putting your beloved in harm's way. Something about the trust inherent in that decision and in the way she speaks of it after. Truthfully, T'Pring doesn't know the captain and she doesn't know Spock. Either one of them could have taken her as their wife but she does know Stonn. She knows that Stonn will remain by her side no matter what. They made a plan together. They have an agreement which T'Pring believes will be upheld even though the plan changed with the arrival of Kirk. Stonn will always be there, always, and Stonn will be hers. Something about the language used around T'Pring: Ownership, subservience, non-personhood. T'Pring is an object that Spock can win. She cannot reject him, she has no say in the matter other than having Stonn 'claim' her instead. Even when Spock leaves after being very clearly rejected by T'Pring he says "Stonn, she is yours." as if despite her clear rejection he still owns her and is must formally 'give' her to Stonn. But the language T'Pring uses around Stonn is a break from that: "There was Stonn who wanted very much to be my consort, and I wanted him." Stonn who wanted very much to be HER consort and she WANTED him. The language here is very particular - It's not, for example: "Stonn wanted me to be his wife" - he is HERS. And she WANTS him. There's a mutual affection there and a strong trust - a trust which seems to be well founded since Stonn (though silent) stands by her side at the end of the episode. <- That might seem small but if Spock would reject her for 'daring to challenge' (again, the language is not 'because I don't want you' but more of an implied disgust at her having the AUDACITY to reject him) then it's not a stretch to assume that it'd be considered an insult in the TOS Vulcan society to NOT choose Stonn as her champion after a prior agreement. Anyway T'Pring was a woman in an impossible situation within a society which saw her as more of an object than a person and she wanted Stonn and Stonn wanted to be hers and she trusted that he would understand if she had to publicly pick someone else to ensure his life would be spared and he did understand.

Cole took a very unsure Bonzle, assured them all everything would be okay, and they'd be back soon. He promised he'd find a way to protect her.

Don't think about how they'll smile when Cole finally trudges back, happy to know he's okay. Especially don't think about the Finders stopping, looking out over the group, and how Cole can't look them in the eyes when they turn to him and ask; where's Bonzle?

Fëanorian Week 2023, Day 7: Fëanor and Nerdanel

You can see I gave up on the barely-there draping and went for full clothes in this one, mostly because Nerdanel would require more of it to get past Tumblr guidelines and I didn’t want to deal with all that.

And yes, I know the pose is almost identical to that Gwindor-and-Finduilas drawing I did that one time.  I’m not very creative when it comes to romantic stuff in drawings so we just have to take what we can get.

You know it would be funny if the actual villain of penacony is the dream master, so far he seems slightly oppressive and questionable, like he ordered the head security of dewlight pavilion to "kill" his family for treason, he doesn't truly care for "death" : it's like he's frantically trying to stop the watchmaker instead of dealing with the current threat, and I at least believe that Gallagher is taking revenge for the watchmaker, that is if he isn't the watchmaker himself.

From his character story - "...Gallagher is my most genuine lie. Sometimes, I can't even distinguish between him and myself."

It also talks Abt his past and how he was fighting for freedom, basically old penacony when he was a prisoner, dreaming of creating a land of ideals. I recently thought Abt how penacony might not be what the watchmaker envisioned so he got displeased with the family, since they're not free from wickedness and evilness . Would be super interesting if Sunday learns the unfiltered truth and gets free from the family teachings (brainwashing) I'm sure as a head he has enough authority to make his own research and reach his own judgement but that's the power of manipulation from early childhood lol. Oti alfalfa did say the watchmaker wasn't a bad person, so would be funny if eventually Sunday teams up with Gallagher LOL

there's such an innocence to when adam and harry kiss for the first time in all of us strangers: as much as harry is quite forward and directly asks if he can kiss him, they're very slow and careful about it. bit by bit they move their bodies closer as they hold each other's gaze and smile just so incredibly sweetly. adam feels shy about it because it's been a long time since he's kissed anyone and even with harry's nature and forwardness even he seems careful. they want to be careful with the moment and the energy between them, as any moment of connection like this can be fleeting and fragile and gone before you know it. adam forgets how to breathe, his mind must be running a mile a minute. and once they give themselves to each other after their first kiss they just let go, let themselves be only present in each other

#idk thoughts because what a sceeeeeeeene #the way andrew haigh directs relationships and the chemistry and the unspoken energy in a scene is magical #like it is so different in 45 years obviously but like there are so many moments in that film that are also very silent and the air is just #THICK with the feelings and thoughts of both characters. #all of us strangers has a lot of that in so many scenes as well. #there are a lot of more silent or slow scenes where the connection and feelings and thoughts are just palpable #its like a third character #a ghost that you can feel the presence of so clearly even if younever see it #and of course that says so much about the performances in it as well #like andrew and paul play this scene so beautifully and they hold that innocence and the palpable energy so well #they move just slow enough so its not dragged out but it doesnt cut the tension too early #they hold that tension and stretch it so well so when they first kiss it isnt entirely broken #and then as they let go you as the viewer also let go #god i LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!! i love andrew haigh and andrew scott and paul mescal #all of us strangers
