I guess todays facts would be more on the delusional side. I don’t know if you ship idols but this is just something to inform you on why they are always being put in videos and edits together.

Chaekura/Kkuchaen (Chaeyeon, Sakura)- I guess the married couple by now. They are so close their friendship started back in produce and still now they care for each other very much.

Hyeyul (Hyewon, Yuri)- for me is the softest ship tho Yenyul will be the otp this also shows how much Yuri and Hyewon care for each other

Nakbi (Nako, Eunbi)- I don’t know much of this ship but through Izone Chu they said they matched each others style and they are really cute friends.

Yenyul/Yulyen (Yena, Yuri)- as I said the married couple. Their pda is crazy obvious not to mention Yena said she would date yuri but not marry her but one of Yuri’s bday lives Yena made a joke about getting married.

Tom & Jerry (Yena, Sakura)- I guess its in the name they argue a lot because Yena always teaches Sakura weird stuff that she claims to be “korean tradition”

2Kim (Chaewon, Minju)- For me this is an original because they often are seen laughing together and smiling widely. Probably the widest I’ve seen Minju smile but maybe that’s just me being bias

SsamYen (Yena, Chaewon)- I call this the ship that ruined Yulyen. But they are also really good friends and their chemistry is also really cute they are cute and maybe I could stand this after a few years or so.

F2 (Minju, Wonyoung)- The ship for me was formed during Izone Chu season 2 where they went back to High school. They are a ship that are also rarely seen but when they do they destroy us with their softness.

Woolimz (Eunbi, Chaewon)- the proncesses as I’ve mentioned they are a couple that constantly denies each other and for me they are very comedic but just like the others I like then just as much.

Annyeongz (Yujin, Wonyoung)- also one of the most obvious pda couples. They are so soft I just can’t. And they are also one of the ships that I would be able to watch, read, and write because of the content they put out.

Kangbi (Eunbi, Hyewon)- the known as the past marriage stage couple because honestly even though Hyewon doesn’t show much, wizone could tell she loves Eunbi to death. They are so cute to be honest and even though they are rarely seen because of Hyewon hate to aegyo they destroy the internet with their selcas and lives.

This might be more of my personal preference but I hope you don’t get offended by this. This is just my info that I’d like for you to know because of their hidden moments and what seems like random reactions when members interact and stuff so I hope you enjoy see you tomorrow!

Prompt: Hi, by the lack of Izone’s scenarios, I’m here to request a Yuri x female reader: they’re best friends but something happens and they start to be friends with benefits, then the reader falls in love with Yuri who is scared of relationships, very angst but fluff ending

A/N: I adore IZ*ONE’s new song Buenos Aires and I thought it would be good inspiration for this scenario. Also I started to go to another cafe by my house and the barista today is so cute??? I’m a lonely gay mess who wants a girlfriend. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!

Warnings: Mentions of drinking and sex, as well as past abusive relationships. Also I’m sorry Yena I love you I just needed a bad ex girlfriend.

Even if she tried to think back to it, Yuri couldn’t remember when everything started. It seemed like one moment, the two of you were normal friends, and then the next... more than that. Suddenly she knew what you felt like, knew the curves of your body and the taste of your lips. Something had snapped and ended with the two of you in her bedroom in each other’s arms, much, much closer than you’d ever been before.

The next morning, Yuri had been scared to even look at you, worried that something would change. But nothing did. The two of you laughed awkwardly over what had happened and agreed to just be friends with benefits, and although she still felt a little bit of a lump in her chest when she fell into bed with you, it felt safe. She knew you. And she knew you wouldn’t hurt her. So she allowed herself to feel good without worrying about love and relationships and all those scary words and just focused on being friends.

Relationships never ended well. Yuri knew this from her own experience. She’d dated girls before, and they’d all broken her heart. One girl broke up with her because Yuri was afraid to tell her family about their relationship. Another girl was an abusive drunk that Yuri stayed with for too long, because she truly believed she could change. The girl never did, and Yuri woke up to a phone call from the police, telling her that the girl she loved had been involved in a DUI incident. That was what it took for Yuri to finally break it off with her, knowing that she’d never change. And the last girl, well....

Yena had seemed like she was different. Yuri had tried not to notice her, but the girl wormed her way into her heart with playful flirting and a big, friendly grin. After Yuri’s last relationship, Yena seemed like an angel in the flesh, and Yuri finally broke, allowing herself to go on date after date with the cute girl, even going as far as to move in with her.

And then she’d walked in on that angel cheating on her with a younger coworker named Minjoo, who was beautiful and tall and everything that Yuri wasn’t. It was then, as Yuri tearfully pushed Yena away and began to pack up her things, that she decided that she’d never fall in love again.

It wasn’t worth it. None of it was worth it. And although she didn’t know if she just had bad luck with these things, or if love just didn’t exist, she did know that she never wanted to go through this again. Her heart was too broken to fix now, so she swore off love and relationships and decided to just be the cat woman she’d always been destined to be.

Nobody ever questioned her about it. Nobody ever asked her why she never went on dates. Nobody cared. And Yuri liked it better that way, even if her house did sometimes feel a little empty.

She could always buy another cat. She couldn’t buy another heart.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.” Your voice was slightly hoarse as you greeted her from her kitchen table, stirring your coffee. A mug sat across from you and she knew it was for her as she shuffled into the kitchen and sank into the seat, closing her eyes. She had to stop partying with you, she was getting too old for hangovers. “Did you sleep well?”

“As well as can be expected after you tore the skin off my back last night.” She opened her eyes to see you smiling sheepishly, a blush on your cheeks. Suddenly, she was reminded of mornings with Yena, when the other girl would make her coffee and... she shook her head. She was not going to think about that.

“Sorry, you know how I get when I’m drunk.”

“I do.” With a yawn, she picked up her coffee. “I’m going to have to stop drinking. My hangover headaches just get worse and worse.”

“That’s because you keep trying to out-drink people, dummy. It’s your own fault.”

She laughed a bit, knowing you were right. “I guess it is. Thanks for keeping me grounded, (Y/N).”

“You can count on me.” You took the last sip of your coffee and stood up, glancing at the clock. “What do you want for breakfast? I can make you something if you want.”

For a moment, Yuri actually thought about it. Thought about watching you cook her breakfast, or cooking breakfast with you, just like she had with past girlfriends. Then the thought made her stomach turn and she shook her head, standing up herself.

“I’ve actually got a bunch of work I’ve got to do today,” she lied, giving you her own sheepish smile. “Sorry.”

“Oh, that’s okay.” Your face fell a bit, but Yuri told herself that she was imagining it. The two of you were just friends, right? “I’ll get out of your way, then.”

“Text me later, okay? I still owe you a coffee after last time.”

“I just drank your coffee,” you said with a laugh, and she rolled her eyes, taking your mug out of your hands as she passed you to go to the sink.

“You know what I mean. You treated me to coffee and lunch, so I said I’d treat you in return.”

You stared at her for a moment, and she quickly turned away, busying herself with washing the dishes so she wouldn’t have to return your gaze. Then you cleared your throat and turned away. “Alright. I’ll text you. Good luck with your work today.”

“Thanks.”

After you’d left, Yuri collapsed back into her bed and closed her eyes. It smelt like you, and when she thought about it, she quickly jumped back up and stripped the the sheets, determined not to have anything like a relationship in her house. She wouldn’t allow herself to do that again. The two of you were friends, nothing more and nothing less. And she wasn’t going to change that.

The moon was bright on the night you said it.

You were drunk, leaning up against her in the cab as the two of you headed back to your house. She was tipsy herself, but it had mostly worn off by now, and she listened with slight amusement as you warbled along to the song on the radio, feeling bad for the cab driver, even if he was probably used to it. You’d drank more than usual tonight while she’d held back, and it felt a little weird, but she dismissed the thought as she looked out the window. Familiar scenery raced by, and she counted buildings until the cab slowed down in front of your apartment building.

“Alright, (Y/N). You’re home.” She gave a smile to the cab driver as she opened the door. “Thank you.” You draped an arm over her shoulders, and she knew you wouldn’t be moving on your own, so she sighed and put all of her strength into it, pulling you out of the cab and supporting you with her shoulders. “Help me out here, (Y/N). We’ve got to get to your apartment, then you can sleep.”

“‘Kay,” you said, stumbling a bit before you allowed her to guide you towards the elevators. The walk back up to your apartment seemed much longer than usual, and Yuri had never been happier to see your door than she was now. Quickly, she pulled your keys out of her pocket (she’d taken them from you at the bar so you didn’t lose them) and opened the door, stumbling inside. She managed to get you to the couch, where you slumped into the cushions and let out a satisfied sigh. Rolling her eyes, she helped you take off your shoes before going back to close the door.

When she walked back to the couch, your eyes were closed and it seemed like you were already asleep, which made her laugh. “Two drinks and you’re a horny drunk. This many and all you want to do is sleep.” You kept a blanket in the basket at the end of the couch, and she grabbed it, unfurling it over your body to make sure you didn’t freeze, because she knew she wouldn’t be getting you to your bed. “Goodnight, (Y/N).”

As she turned to go, your hand grabbed at her wrist and she turned to look back at you. Through your open blinds in the kitchen, the moon shone bright, shimmering inside the room, and your eyes opened ever so slightly.

“Don’t go.”

“I have to. You’ll be okay without me.”

“No I wont.” You scrunched up your face like you were in pain, and for a moment, she was worried. “Why don’t you know that I love you?” Your words made her freeze on the spot, ice running through her veins. “I love you, Yuri. Stay with me. Please.”

“You’re drunk,” Yuri finally choked out, pulling her hand out of your grip. “Get some sleep and be careful of what you say. Goodnight.”

You called her name from behind her, but she didn’t look back, basically running out the door. She ran the entire way back to her own apartment, feet burning in her uncomfortable flats and eyes burning with tears, chest squeezing in a painful way that she recognized. She couldn’t do this. She couldn’t be more than friends. Not again.

When she finally got home, she stumbled into her bedroom and buried her face in her pillow, not even bothering to take the little bit of makeup on her face off as she screamed into it. Why had things ended up like this again? And more importantly, why had she let things end up like this again?

As she squeezed her eyes closed and gripped at her bed, she hoped against hope that you wouldn’t remember anything the next day.

It took five days before she saw you again. For five days, she pushed off seeing you, making up excuses about work and family and health, anything to not see you again. But when you showed up at her door, she knew that she couldn’t keep running.

“You’re avoiding me,” you said, as soon as she opened the door. “What did I do? What’s going on?”

Her mouth went dry, eyes wide as her heart pounded in her chest. She couldn’t keep lying, not when you were standing there boring holes into her soul. Reluctantly, she stepped aside to let you in.

“I’ve just been weird lately,” she said, trying to avoid the question, but you weren’t buying it.

“You haven’t talked to me since we went out drinking. Did I say something when I was drunk?”

It was so hard to lie to you. Not because you caught on too easily, but because she actually cared about you. She didn’t want to lie to you. You were her friend. But now everything was confusing, and she slowly sat down on the couch, trying to decide what she’d say.

“Well,” she started, staring at the floor. “You told me. That, um, you love me.” Silence hung in the air, heavy and suffocating until you cleared your throat.

“Oh.” And then. “I’m sorry. But it’s true.”

She didn’t want to hear that. She wanted to hear anything but that. But she knew it was true, too, and it made her heart twist painfully in her chest because she knew she couldn’t feel the same way about you.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered, refusing to look up at you. “I’m really, really sorry.”

“No, it’s not your fault. I just got carried away.”

“I’m not apologizing for that. I’m apologizing because I can’t feel the same way about you. I’m apologizing because I can’t put myself in a relationship again.” She stood from her chair. “I’m sorry. But-.”

“Yuri! Just let me talk, please!”

“No. I can’t.” Tears spilled over as memories flashed by. Yena smiling and telling her that she loved her as Minjoo lingered in the background. Girlfriends yelling and screaming because she wasn’t good enough and never was. “I can’t do this. I’m not ready. Please, (Y/N).”

“Sorry.” You stood to your feet at well, twisting your hands together. You looked guilty and upset, and Yuri felt bad, but she couldn’t bring herself to reach out to you. “I’ll leave. Goodbye, Yuri.”

It wasn’t until the door was closed that Yuri sank to the floor, letting herself sob into her hands. Another goodbye, even though she’d tried so hard. Feelings twisted themselves up inside her and she wanted. She wanted to run after you. She wanted to beg you for forgiveness. She wanted to explain herself to you, she wanted to make sure you didn’t hate her. But she couldn’t, so she just curled into a ball in the floor, and wished she could disappear.

“Hey, Yuri, have you ever been to Buenos Aires?” You’d been looking at the travel guide on Yuri’s table, and she’d laughed, shaking her head as she sat down beside you.

“Never. I’ve heard it’s gorgeous there, though. I want to visit there someday.”

“I’ve heard it’s the city of romance, like Paris,” you’d said, staring down at the bright photos. “I want to visit too.”

“Maybe we should go.”

You’d turned to look at her with big eyes. “Us? To the city of romance?”

“Sure, why not? Can friends not travel there?”

“I guess if I ever visited, I’d want to go with someone I love.” You’d turned back to the magazine, and Yuri had stared at your side profile before looking down at the beautiful photos, a familiar but unwanted feeling building in her chest.

“That’s understandable.”

“Then let’s meet in Buenos Aires in the future, after we’re in love.” You’d smiled, like you were being completely serious, but Yuri just rolled her eyes.

“Sure, should I mark my calendar?”

We need to talk. You’ve been putting me off for a month.

Yuri stared down at her phone, a pit in her stomach.

I’m sorry. I still need more time.

“How have you been?”

“I’ve been okay. How about you?”

“Okay. Life is boring without you.”

“I’m sorry.”

Healing was a process that Yuri couldn’t do overnight. She also hadn’t been able to do it herself. Her therapist told her to throw away everything that she’d kept from old relationships, so she’d thrown open her closet door to dig through everything, only to quickly get stuck.

Emotions tied her to every teddy bear, every shirt, every hat, everything that her exes had bought her. Especially Yena.

“But you don’t love them anymore?”

“No, not at all. I don’t feel that kind of feeling towards them.”

“Then what do you feel?”

Yuri wasn’t sure how to answer that question, for her first girlfriend, she felt almost nothing. It had been short and she hadn’t had any strong feelings attached. In fact, she’d already given away the things she’d gotten from that relationship. For her second girlfriend, she felt regret. Regret for meeting her and getting involved, regret for not treating herself better, regret for not being able to help her. Her therapist had told her that none of this was her fault, and that people often felt that way about abusive relationships, but it was hard. It’s not like that girlfriend had been terrible from the beginning, and Yuri was sure she was a good person underneath.

But she took a deep breath and put all of those gifts in the box her friend Eunbi had given to her. She had to get rid of it all, even if the scar on her arm from their last fight would never go away.

Lastly, there was Yena. And Yena was the most complicated. Yuri had truly loved her. They’d moved in together, adopted a puppy together, cooked and cleaned together. For two years, Yuri’s life revolved around Yena, and then.... Minjoo. She didn’t blame Minjoo, not really. The younger girl had cried and cried when everything went down, promising Yuri that she hadn’t known and Yena had told her that they were just friends, and begging her not to be mad. Of course Yuri had been mad, though. Less so at Minjoo, who’d been duped just like she had, but still. The whole experience left a gaping hole in her chest and left her with the feeling of never being good enough. Yena had seemed like an angel, too, so happy and sweet, so Yuri found it hard to trust anyone. Was everyone like Yena, hiding their bad spots behind a smile?

But she didn’t love Yena anymore. She felt regret, pain, and betrayal, but she didn’t feel love.

“Moving on is hard. But not everyone will hurt you. Think of your friends. Have they ever betrayed you?”

Yuri’s friends were the best people. Eunbi and Chaewon had always been by her side, since they were kids. They were the ones that she turned to after a bad relationship. They loved her despite all of her flaws, and accepted her as she was. They’d seen all of her bad spots and still loved her. Sakura, Hitomi, and Nako, friends she’d met in college, still talked to her even though she threw up on their couch one time. Even after Nako moved back to Japan, she still made it her mission to call Yuri once a week to “check up on her” and tell her about all the crazy things she was doing these days. Chaeyeon, Sakura’s girlfriend, had cooked her food after the breakup with Yena and always accepted her with open arms whenever she went to see them. Her friends were wonderful, and she loved and trusted them with everything in her.

“But they’re my friends. That’s different.”

“They’re still relationships. If you can find friends who you trust, who love you for who you are, you can find a romantic partner too. Don’t give up on yourself just yet, Yuri.”

Eunbi’s box was full when Yuri finished, tears running down her face. But as she closed the top of the box and taped it up, ready to give everything away, she felt just a little bit better. Maybe she’d be okay after all.

I think I’m ready now. I’ve been working on myself.

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that.

Love was hard. Love was complicated. And no one knew that better than Yuri. But she also knew that it could be worth it. Sometimes, things didn’t work out to make for a better future. And she had to respect that.

The morning air was warm as Yuri opened the window of the Airbnb, blinking into the bright sun. The street underneath was already alive, and Yuri leaned on the windowsill, watching as people milled around the colorful road and cars drove by. The smell of fresh food and coffee drifted up to the window, mixing with the smell of the flowers by the window, and she took a deep breath as she enjoyed the sunlight on her bare arms.

The door opened, and her now-short hair brushed at her shoulders as she looked back, a smile spreading across her lips.

“Good morning, Yuri. Did you just wake up?” In your hands were bags and a drink holder as you walked over to join her at the window.

“I did. Did you get breakfast?”

“I did. Aren’t I the best girlfriend?”

“You are. That smells amazing.” As Yuri took her drink from your hands, she looked down at the bags in your hands. “What did you get?”

“Pastries! I almost ate them on the way up here they smelled so good. Come on, let’s eat!” You set the bags down on table, but as you went to sit down, she grabbed your wrist. Confused, you looked over at her, and she closed the distance in one big step, giving you a gentle kiss on the lips. A year ago, she would have never been able to do this. This king of bear events may have begun in nightlife as a queen, but he’s now made GLAM history in 2017... and there’s still much more in store with Shane Tate!

Thotyssey: Hey Shane! Congrats are in order: you have made GLAM history as the first Best Party Promoter nominee for a bear party! Shane Tate: It’s such an honor to be nominated alongside such legends as Susanne Bartsch and Daniel Nardicio. I never thought a bear promoter or a bear party would ever be nominated for a GLAM Award. It just goes to show how our community is changing, and bears are coming more in to the mainstream. A lot of people might not like that, but I feel it’s very important for us as a community to share our philosophy of acceptance and non-judgement with the rest of the gay community. Whether you’re hairy, smooth, big or small, everyone can benefit from that way of thinking. What you just said reminds me that the definition of a "bear" is kind of in flux these days. I think it always used to mean a thick, hairy guy. But now it can be a hairy muscly guy, a hairless thick guy--

Indeed.

Do you think there is a universal trait for a "bear?" I think nowadays the term “bear” refers less to a physical description and more to a body positive philosophy. The bear community is, in a sense, an anti-culture created to rebel against a certain standard of beauty. All people, no matter their size or their age, can and should feel sexy and confident in who they are.

So Shane, where are you from, and at what point did you discover nightlife and the bear scene?

Well, that is a bit of a sordid tale! I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and got my start in nightlife there as a drag queen at the age of 16. You see, I discovered that if I went out in drag, no one would card me. I started hosting shows, and at the age of 17 I ran away to NYC.

Whoah, wait a sec! You, a drag queen!? What was your name?

Miss Lady D. I actually did my very first NYC drag show with the amazing Sherry Vine at a little East Village party called Easy Bake Oven. I think it was in 1990. God I’m old. Lol!

Nah, you’re just a cub! But you’ve been in the biz here for awhile then.

I’ve been working in nightlife off-and-on for the last 30 years. In 2015, I hosted my first bear party. It was called Beards and Bears Takeover. We would pick a different bar each month and raise money for charity. The parties where hugely successful.

This lead to me starting other bear parties, such as NYC’s original Beer Blast, Fur Trade, Furry Fridays, and now the very successful Beers & Bears. I’m also the creator and organizer of Fire Island Bear Weekend, Key West Bear Weekend, and the soon to be announced Las Vegas Bear Weekend.

I have to confess I was stunned by the success of Thursday night’s weekly Beers & Bears upstairs from the Ritz. I didn't think bears would congregate in Hell’s Kitchen; that neighborhood caters to a more “traditional” mold of Modern Young Gay.

When I first started Beers & Bears, I purposely renamed the the upstairs of the Ritz The Bear Den. You see, the Ritz had a reputation of being a Twink bar. Reinventing the venue was essential to it’s success.

I believe with the correct marketing and promotion, any neighborhood or venue can be a place for bears to congregate. Also, the fact is we welcome not only bears but also their admirers. We have lots of people every week that tell me they don’t really fit the description of a “bear” but come and truly enjoy themselves in a fun-loving, non-judgmental environment. That’s really what it’s all about.

Aside from your own very successful events, there's also Furball, The Urban Bear and a whole lot of other bear party producers across the country. Is there room for everybody, or is it a competition for bear hearts and minds (and other organs)? Well I can’t speak for everyone, but I don’t really think of it as competition. I feel that each promoter creates a truly unique experience. I’ve partnered and worked with Robert Valin (Urban Bear) and Joe Fiore (Furball) on several events. We work well together, and have created some incredible parties. I’m not in this business for the money. I do it for my community. What about the apps -- like Growlr and SCRUFF -- and their affect on nightlife in general? Do they help or hinder the success of an event? For me they are a huge part of my marketing. SCRUFF has sponsored many of my events, and has provided a huge amount of support and advertisements for those events. SCRUFF gives a lot back to our community. I don’t really feel these apps hinder nightlife. Although they have made hooking up a lot easier, nothing truly can replace the social face-to-face interactions that parties provide.

Who are some of your favorite DJs to work with?

I’ve been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work with some truly talented DJ’s: Corey Craig, Dan Darlington, Ian Ford, Jonny Mack, Bobby Duron and Ted Bishop to name a few.

This Friday, I’m bringing one the West Coast’s hottest bear parties, MegaWooF America to the East Coast featuring GloVibes and the legendary Susan Morabito. The MegaWooF takeover of the entire Ritz Bar will be this Friday, November 24th!

The Ritz is going through a transformation, the owner is investing in a new sound system, and we are transforming the space into an incredible dance venue. Although smaller than most clubs, both floors have dance floors which creates a truly intimate party experience. Over the next few months, we will bring in some truly amazing talent. This Friday Is going to be incredible.

And what’s on the HAIR-izon for Shane Tate?

I’ll be doing a monthly party called Bear Social at Atlas Social Club starting Friday, December 15th.

Also, I have Fire Island Bear Weekend coming up June 7th - 10th, and then we have Key West Bear Weekend Nov 8th - 11th . I’m also working on Las Vegas Bear Weekend, and will hopefully be announcing dates soon.

Thanks! It was a great night with a small group of friends at Pieces. The amazing Vita Summers serenaded me with her rendition of “She Used to be Mine.” She’s an amazing singer and a wonderful performer.

She sure is! So, last question: What was/is your birthday wish? Well if I had to wish for something, it would be that our country come to its senses and elect a government that would empower and unite us instead of divide us.
