You get kai and bonnie so much together and individually everything you say fits them in canon so well it's too bad the writers really fumbled with them because when kai showed up he was a breath of fresh air and the best part about him is he's all about bonnie that was new and realistic bonkai was their last shot at getting the vampire diaries interest back up again

AH thank you so much for this lovely message, you're so sweet!! Yes, it really is such a shame the writers fumbled Bonkai bc it rly did seem like they had some great ideas there in the beginning, but the execution fell flat :( I feel like Kai was a breath of fresh air not just for us fans but also the cast & crew! U could rly feel their spark of new excitement for a dying show when kai showed up bc i think they all sensed that he was unique and different from the tired, recycled plotlines they'd had since S4.

Ian in particular seemed much more interested in his scenes when Kai was around (and much more lifeless when he wasn't) and Bonnie ofc was *given* much more interesting scenes when Kai was around, compared to prior seasons. Even Alaric & Jo, who started S6 as rick's new boring romance of the season, became relevant, layered and interesting bc of their links to Kai. Like rick loved to play the hero & act like damon was morally beneath him in S6 but his need to protect Jo from Kai brought out a selfish streak that made him go behind Jo & her fam's back to make shady deals w Damon & Kai as long as it kept Jo safe! Even Jo was revealed to be quite crafty considering her backstory of how she tricked & betrayed Kai in 1994, which made her much more interesting than her early role as rick's bland gf.

Even Liv & Luke were (im sorry) SO BORING in S5 but 1000x more interesting in S6 once their story got linked to Kai. His existence single-handedly linked so many disjointed characters & plotlines from previous seasons (like why'd they even bring Rick back after dying in S3? His relationship w Jo (and by extension, Kai) was the only thing that made him relevant for the rest of the goddamn show)! Even the Heretics were introduced to the show through KAI & the gemini/siphoner lore and fully lost steam as soon as Kai wasn't there to make 'em interesting!

As for Kai's links to Bonnie, ya i agree she rly was their last chance to make things interesting bc they'd already given Elena & Caroline "dark" romances that fans were too attached to to accept anything else (see: Delena being forced to stay together; Steroline forever being overshadowed in most fans' minds by Klaroline) so giving Elena & Caroline new pairings would've disappointed fans, whereas Bonnie was a blank slate they could've gone WILD with bc none of her canon pairings had strongly attached fans... yet they gave Elena & Caroline new romances anyway and scrapped Bon's romance with Kai :)))

That is what felt malicious. In S6 alone, they gave Elena who ALREADY HAD DAMON the new guy Liam, then gave Caroline the same guy Liam, Enzo (briefly) AND Stefan, whereas Bon *almost* got Kai & *fully* lost Jeremy in S6. ??? Any writer who paid half as much attention to her fans as Plague did (considering how much ott fan-service she wrote into tvd & how many twitter fights she got into w fans whose ships she disapproved of) HAD to have known her fans wouldn't accept Caroline/Enzo, Care/Stef, Care/Liam or Elena/Liam as much as they loved Care/Klaus & Elena/Damon. Yet she did it anyway bc she preferred LOSING FANS to giving Bonnie someone interesting!

She even planned Kai to be Bon's love interest in S6 bc she thought he wouldn't be popular w fans & instantly torpedoed that once she noticed fans' love for him bc, as I said before, Plague PAID ATTENTION to her fans' reactions. So fans having lukewarm feelings about Steroline was enough to get 'em married, but fans LIKING Kai was enough to get Bonkai axed. It's a common joke that Plague saw Caroline as her self-insert (neurotic, hyper-organized blonde control-freak) which is why she dated more men than even Elena. But I think a large chunk of tvd's white teen girl fans saw Care as a self-insert too (bc w each subsequent season, Caroline was increasingly written & designed that way, which is why fans turned on tvd's original self-insert, Elena, & worshipped Care instead).

Her "im never the one, im not perfect like elena" insecurities made her a blank canvas for (white) girls to see themselves in, which is why she wins Miss Mystic Falls, why she's a privileged Founding Fam member, why she gets to dress fancy & go to Mikaelson balls that have nothing to do w her, why she gets ALL the men, why she becomes the 1st vampire to be pregnant, why she gets to marry Stefan (then instantly lose him so she can go kiss Klaus in the spin-off), why she gets to be tvd's last vampire standing, why she repeatedly gets to have her cake and eat it too. By presenting Elena as "perfect/ideal" & Caroline as an "underdog," fans naturally sympathized more with Care's "struggle" (even tho she repeatedly got EVERYTHING!) Based on this, Plague refused to let ppl like Klaus date Bonnie (which would've made sense) but shoved him w Caroline (which didn't make narrative sense) bc that gave her & white fans the chance to see themselves in Care & feel like THEY were dating Klaus.

(Btw I wanna add that I actually do like & enjoy Caroline! This is a critique of the shadiness that went into *writing* Caroline, not a critique of Caroline herself)

Similarly, Kai was allowed to want Bonnie as long as fans didn't like him, but once he got popular, Plague killed Bonkai bc she believed that she & her (white) fans wouldn't be able to see themselves in Bonnie and feel like THEY were the ones dating Kai. But Kai was not Klaus, Stefan, Damon, Enzo or Kol. His character was CONCEIVED w Bonnie in mind to the point that erasing his obsession w her would make him not even feel like KAI anymore. And that wouldn't work bc fans wanted gucci kai, not walmart kai. Also, his general personality quirks were just not the type that would vibe w Caroline. Chris Wood said it himself, "Kai likes to be the one who talks, he doesn't like to listen, so I think Caroline might make him wanna snap her neck & move on" bc Caroline ALSO likes to talk. So writing him w Care would change Kai too much & writing him w Elena was not an option bc Delena was set in stone & Nina was leaving. So, how'd plague have her cake & eat it too? She refused to let Bon have Kai, and bc there was no other white girl who made sense for him, she kept Kai eternally single so white fans could eternally imagine themselves w him.

And uk what's the worst part? I don't believe all white fans would've necessarily struggled to see themselves in Bonnie if she'd dated Kai. I think Bonnie being the ACTUAL underdog struggler of the show made her very relatable to people, regardless of what your race is (esp bc tvd rarely addressed her race or centered any plotlines on it). I think Plague's own subconscious biases just made it impossible for her to fathom seeing herself in a PoC character, which is why she wrongly assumed all her majority white fans worked the same way & letting Bonkai happen would've disappointed them & made them stop watching. (But that being said, even if it was just a "business decision" to her... isn't it funny how disappointing masses of white klaroline fans didn't stop her from tossing Care at stef, enzo, whoever she wanted, but ONLY stopped her when it came to Bonnie's ships (bc she was looking for excuses to scrap 'em anyway)? Oh plagueee ur biases are showing, girlieee)

Someone jumped onto my bed this morning where I screamed almost falling on the floor getting thrown around. Sitting upright I glared down at my twin brother Jacob seeing that he was grinning brightly at me. “Jacob, what the hell is wrong with you?”

“Being here for your wedding day silly butt.” He sat up with his knees to his chest.

Slumping my shoulders I sighed, shocked that he was actually here. We still hadn’t talked since I had used a sleeping spell to keep him safe after facing off against Mikael. “Jacob, look I’m sorry about what I did to you. But it was to protect you-“

“Rae, it’s fine. We’ll talk about that later. Today is about you and you're marrying Klaus Mikaelson.” He held his hands up in surrender. He climbed from the bed offering me his hands tugging me up with me grinning brightly.

Squeezing his hands in mine, my eyes shifted to the wedding dress handing on the door. “Well thank you for being here. I really couldn’t imagine you not. Have you seen dad here too?”

“Yeah he’s waiting out in the hall for when you are ready. I’ll be in charge of the girls.” He responded back heading over and opening the door revealing Caroline and Rebekah grinning brightly.

Rebekah shut the door with the heel of her boot once my brother left the room. “Okay so we only have a few hours before this whole thing goes down.”

“But first some champagne.” Caroline handed me a glass popping the cork off the bottle.

“And to one day of no Mikaelson family drama.” Raising my glass in the air we all clinked our glasses together downing the drink. It took us about three hours to get me ready to put the dress on since Caroline and Bex couldn’t settle on the same hair style. We ended up leaving most of my hair loose with some curls done up in it.

Two strands of my hair were clipped back with a gold pin. I had my cowgirl boots underneath the dress with the linked ring from Nik on my right ring finger now since I would be getting a new ring on my left. Someone knocked on the door peeking inside. “Are you ready, babygirl?”

“Yeah dad I think I am.” Looping my arm through the other two vampires left the room leaving us time alone.

He paused in his step reaching inside his suit pocket revealing a necklace handing from his hand. “I went through your mothers things and I came across this. She told me once that it belonged to her mother and that she wore it on her wedding day. Then she wore it so I knew she would pass it down to you.”

“Oh dad, it’s beautiful….I miss her.” Holding it in between my fingers he clipped it standing behind me when I viewed it in the mirror. It was a simple pearl necklace that I had only seen in one picture in my whole life.

He squeezed my shoulder offering his hand where I took it, looping our arms together again. “So do I, Raelyn. But she is with you and J. Always and forever.” He replied, starting to walk me down the stairs. Once we reached the bottom I saw Caroline, Rebekah, Cami and Davina in their places as bridesmaids. Stefan, Elijah, Kol and finally my brother Jacob on the other side. Damon was the one standing in the middle with Klaus.

My father kissed my forehead placing my hand in Nik's seeing slight confusion on my face that Damon would be performing the ceremony. "He insisted that no one else would do a better job than him. I’ll let him if you don’t mind even though I could have just compelled someone."

“No, no, it’s perfect. That way it’ll only be family here.” I told him nodding in the direction of the eldest Salvatore.

"Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to witness the joining of these two epic lovebirds in official matrimony. The crazy immortal hybrid Klaus Mikaelson and the little siphon witch who threw me off his front porch the first day we met, Raelyn Lane. But before we begin, if anyone has any objections to this union, please speak now or forever hold your peace." Nobody said anything so he nodded, keeping the ceremony going. "Go ahead with the vows then you two."

"Niklaus Mikaelson, I love you. I never had any romantic relationship until I met you. You have been my first through everything in my life and I adore that. I know that everyone needs to quack in fear at the sound of your name but I never have. If anything we both know that you could quit, possibly be afraid of me more than anything. You have been nothing but kind, loyal, honest and trusting of me and my wants. I have gotten to see the other side of you that you bury deep down, the side of you that is capable of love and that is the man that I am grateful to call my husband and the father of our beautiful daughters." Taking his hands in mine I sucked in a breath praying that I could get through this without crying.

A smile plastered on his face as he spoke, almost making me burst into tears. "Raelyn, I was against love. It was easier for me to believe that vampires couldn’t love but that wasn’t possible when I walked into the Mystic Grill and you literally threw me against the wall for simply asking your name.” Some people began laughing alongside me remembering that exact day in the back of my mind. “And yet somehow I managed to find your light in the sea of darkness of my life. I love your heart, your smile, the way you can be fierce and gentle at the same time. You will always be a queen to me forever and always. I’ll love you forever, Rae.”

Damon wiped away some tears clearing his throat. "Wow, I didn’t think I was gonna cry today. Anyway…uh Jacob the rings.”

My brother walked up handing me a black ring band with some gold lines engraved in it for Nik. Then he gave him our grandmother’s golden ring, stepping back beside the other groomsmen. “Alright so, little siphon, do you take this hybrid to be your husband from this moment forward?”

“With this ring I forever I do.” Laughing through happy tears I slid the band on Klaus’s left ring finger.

Damon glanced at Klaus. “Hybrid, do you take this little siphon witch to be your wife from this moment forward?”

“With this ring I forever I do.” Klaus declares shifting his gaze from mine and down to the ring. He slides the ring on my left hand lifting his gaze back up to mine and holding his gaze strongly smirking.

Damon put his hand on our hands pushing them together where we both chuckled intertwining our hands together tightly almost like we couldn’t believe it until he declared the words to us. “With the power recently vested in me by the Commonwealth of Virginia, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride, hybrid."

Without waiting any longer I fling my arms around Nik's neck crashing my lips onto his. He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me as close as I could get. Moving one of my hands into his hair deepened the kiss. “Girls now.” Davina whispered down to our three baby girls who were sitting by my father.

“What are you - oh my gosh.” I asked her before they held hands and we both lifted our heads upwards. Magically light red rose petals began falling even though we were inside the main entrance of the compound.

Klaus chuckled, wrapping his arms a little tighter around my waist tugging me against his comfortable embrace. “I figured you would enjoy that little touch. The harvest witch said it was an easy spell to teach toddlers.”

“Thank you, Mr. Mikaelson.” Smiling into his blue eyes I kissed him quickly.

“You’re welcome, Mrs. Mikaelson.” He kissed the crown of my head letting everyone else start heading down to Roussos since we had paid for Cami to leave an open bar agreeing to pay the other bartenders that were working her shift extra.

Klaus and I intertwined our hands together entering the bar causing everyone to clap and cheer loudly. I couldn't stop grinning, especially when I recognized a certain lock of dark brown hair rushing through the crowd all in a breath. "Rae Rae, oh hi. I wasn't sure I was going to make it but then Caroline told me she had compelled me to get a plane ticket here. I'm so happy for you."

"Josette, oh! I can't believe she managed to get you here." Wrapping my arms around her in a hug she giggled breaking the embrace.

She glared at Nik sternly. "Listen here mister. If you hurt her in any way possible I will personally make your life a living hell. Do you understand me?"

"Yes I do, Josette." He nodded with a smile.

She threw her hands up scoffing. "Oh please call me Jo. We're family now after all."

Taking his hand in mine he grinned down at me leading me to the open dance floor. Perfectly in sync my hands and his went exactly where they were supposed to as Davina began playing a song through the bar. "Remember if you step on my feet it won't matter. I'll be here to catch you for eternity, Rae." He reassured me, twirling me out and back into his chest causing the white dress to fly up into the air.

"I know and I will be here to show you love forever and always…let's try the twirling again." I chuckled remembering when I tried at the Mikealson's ball it didn't go well. He smirked bending his head down underneath my arm with me twirling him out and then back in almost falling on the ground. Thankfully he was faster and managed to catch me before we could hit the ground.

Someone held up a microphone getting everyone's attention where we glanced over seeing that Damon had the microphone. "Oh this should be good." Nik mutters under his breath.

"Okay so wow how can I start this speech any other way then just saying wow. When I met Klaus Mikaelson I hated the guy and I still find him irritating at times too. But regardless I can say that I am happy he has found someone who can kick his ass when he needs it. Raelyn, you better keep him in line and keep him happy." He raised his glass in the air. "To the bride and groom - oh and under no circumstances am I ever hugging him again like we did on that camping trip."

Nik and I, including everyone that was there that night began laughing at the memory when he handed the microphone over to Davina. "Klaus, you know we have a love and hate relationship. Raelyn, as for you, I am stunned that you managed to make him more human. When we met you could have been mean to me yet you weren't. So thanks for being my friend and including me on your special day."

"Alright my turn. Raelyn, you are an amazing friend. And I know that Klaus will always treat you right. I hope that you will bring the triplets to town sometime. And I have to admit that Rebekah and I clearly know how to plan a pretty great wedding. To the bride and groom." Caroline raised her glass and we all took a drink with her.

Cami went up with Kol who had the microphone first. "Nik, you are the pain in my ass sometimes. But I'm glad you're happy. Keep him in line Raelyn."

"Raelyn, Klaus, thanks for giving me a chance to be in your lives. Although I do wish that I could get paid as the family therapist but that's just a dream. Anyway enjoy yourselves and your kids are adorable."

Rebekah walked up smiling proudly. "Nik, being related to you has some disadvantages but you are loyal and I know that Raelyn will straighten you out. I can't believe I get to now say I have a sister. Because even though I love my brothers, us girls have to stick together. Now raise a glass to the crazy couple because if you know anything of what they have been doing recently you can have no doubt there will be baby number four shortly."

"Hey ya'll, I'm Raelyn’s brother if you don’t know me." Jacob waved his hand, taking the microphone from Bex. "I haven't been around a lot so I can't speak for Klaus. But, I do know my twin sister though. She can be a handful but who can't say that about a sibling. Rae, I owe you and our mom my life. I hope you have the best one you can. I'll always raise a glass and go partying with either of you. To the bride and groom…now Jo."

Nik and I both turned out heads following where he was pointing before she shoved some cake in our faces making everyone laugh. "Sorry cuz I couldn't resist." She laughed, grinning from ear to ear.

Klaus and I were basically dragging the other through the compound even though we were both vampires. We weren't really thinking about anything else but being together. Kicking open the door I looked into his eyes grinning. "So Mr. Mikaelson, can you believe we're here finally?"

"I certainly wouldn't if I wasn't holding you in my arms right now, Raelyn Mikaelson." He responded back wrapping his arms around my waist.

Resting my hands on his chest I smirked. "Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"

"You have no idea, love." He replied brightly, staring down at me, capturing my lips with his firmly.

I wrapped my arms around his neck kissing him back passionately. We began to walk backwards towards the bed and fell upon it. I glanced up at him lustfully, my eyes darkening in want, I began to run my hands down his chest moving them slowly towards his lower region.

Feeling bold I grabbed his member through his pants yanking on it, he broke the kiss growling at my actions. “Be patient, my love.”

I wrapped my legs around him, turning us over until I was on top. His eyes widened in shock at me not expecting to see this side of me.

I smirked down at him running my fingers down his chest and said. “ Tonight, I'm in control darling; now if you want to come you better be on your best behavior if not I will punish you. Understand the rules.”

"Fine. But you better hurry up before I tear that dress." Nik warned me.

"If you rip my dress I will find one of your daggers and use it on you!" I threatened him revealing my vampire fangs.

I cast a spell on him, holding him to the bed, making sure he couldn't move. “ Now, darling, we're going to need a safe word."

“ Red, “ He replied.

“ Tap on my thigh or says that word if it gets too much for you to handle “ I explained to him.

He nodded, “ Undress now.”

“You seem to misunderstand the rules, darling, “ I said, rolling my eyes at him. “ You're not in control here I am, you will listen to me and do as I say.”

“Rae, my love please.“ He pleaded with those deep puppy dog eyes.

“ I can't hear you, my love speak up “ I ordered, smirking at him.

“Please Rae," He pleaded for probably the first time in his immortal life.

“Not good enough,“ I said in a chirpy voice. “You can do better than that, Nik."

“Bloody hell, Raelyn please let me see you “ He begged, tears welling in his eyes.

“Alright, my darling, “ I smirked down at the hybrid. “See now that's how you properly beg."

I stood up slowly dispatching off my wedding dress, I unzipped it letting it fall to the ground and stepped out of it. Removing the clip from my hair I kicked my shoes off at the same time. Watching his gaze never break away from me.

“ You like? “ I asked, glancing at him.

He smirked. "You know I already do."

I leaned down in front of him grabbing at his buckled pants pulling the belt off him throwing it across the room. I smirked at him pulling down his trousers along with his briefs, ripping it off of him and tossing it across the room along with the rest of our clothes.

I grabbed his member in my hand, rubbing it up and down softly. Low moans began to escape from the hybrid’s mouth. “ Faster.” He demanded.

I pulled my hand away causing him to growl at me. “I told you, darling, you are not in control of this. I will decide if you should be rewarded or not."

Walking away from him, I reached behind my back undoing the clips of my bra letting it fall to the ground and slid my panties off letting them hit the floor.

I walked towards him again swaying my hips as I did, climbing on him I began to rock my hips down upon his, my clit brushing against his. I let out a moan enjoying the feeling of us together like this. I rolled my hips against him again, speeding up my movements. “ Oh, god you feel so good, Nik.“ I whimpered, moving my hips up and down against his rock hard member.

"Raelyn, undo this ridiculous spell already…"

“No, you get to be Alpha all the time.“ I moaned out, rocking my hips quicker.

I started to bounce up and down against him, scratching my nails down on his chest as I picked up the pace. “ Oh, Oh, Oh, gods, Nik! “ I moaned out as I felt my release come over me, my legs began to shake.

“ My love , please “ He moaned out, rocking his hips back. “ Enough of this torture already, let me have you. “ Undo this spell.”

I ignored his words slamming my hips down against him again, enjoying this too much. My release came quicker than expected much to my disappointment, I stopped my movements for a moment glancing up at him seeing the lustful look on his face.

“I think you deserve a reward now, don't you? “ I asked, bringing a hand down upon his check, stroking it gently.

"Undo the spell, Raelyn." His blue eyes poured into mine where I leaned down kissing him deeply. He leans forward aa much as he was allowed growling into the heated kiss.

I pulled away, breaking the kiss glancing at him, “ You didn't answer my question, darling.”

"I want you, Raelyn. I want to be free from this bloody spell. I want to make love to you!" He responded sternly where I could hear his voice croaking as he struggled to break free.

“ Darling, we just started to play, “ I teased him, running my hands down his clothed chest. Snapping my fingers, I removed his shirt quickly with my magic.

“Now, darling, be a good boy." I ordered, starting to rock my hips against his once more while running my fingers down his chest. Crashing my lips onto his moving my hands up threading my fingers into his dirty blonde hair.

Klaus kissed me back with as much passion as he could manage being bond by me. He couldn't stand another second being unable to be closer to her. Thankfully I raised one hand waving it in the air finally undoing the spell. "Klaus!" I squealed when he didn't waste any time vamping me directly onto my back pinning my hands above my head.

"It's my turn now, siphon queen." He devilishly smirked smashing his lips onto mine. He drew back where I scanned his face seeing his smirk just grow. I knew we were in for a long night.

I really don’t like the Gemini Coven. They are beyond messed up and not just Kai, but everyone. Liv and their dad, Joshua were more willing to sacrifice Jo to Kai for their own selfishness and Tyler was no help either. I get he was just trying to protect Liv, but he handled it all wrong and hurt others along the way. He was willing to sacrifice Jo and he ruined the first attempt at rescuing Bonnie from the Prison World. The only sensible members of the Gemini were Luke and Jo.

what legacies ending means for me

i am actually very upset. like, i have had to wipe tears away just to see so that i could write this. some may find this dramatic or whatever, but i don't really care.

whether you keep up with this account or not, i have not been posting episode reaction recaps in a while. i can't pinpoint the exact moment, but i wanna say it was after kaylee left the show. i still watched all of the episodes, i am all caught up, i just haven't felt like writing anything on them. she was the light of the show for me.

despite everything, i still came back of course. i love the tvdverse with all of my heart. that's why this is so hard for me. and, I'm not trying to be all "woe-is-me" or suggest that I am the only one feeling this way, I am just saying how I feel because I don't want to generalize and I want to be transparent.

the vampire diaries came out in 2009, but i didn't start watching until 2014 (i was literally like, 7 when it came out) and I've been watching all the way up until now, as i just finished my sophomore year of college!! that's so crazy. that's the thing about a series or movie franchise that happen to be with you through years and phases of your life.

in 2017, the vampire diaries ended. the following year, 2018, the originals ended. i lost two shows that are deeply embedded into my life and who i am. but then, in that same year of 2018, legacies premiered and i gained something in the midst of back-to-back loss.

i wasn't too sure about this spin-off since it only had a few familiar characters, but i quickly became invested. how could i not? i got to see characters, new and old, tell their stories in this platform and see them grow. the last two seasons though, became repetitive in my opinion, and all the stuff with m*tt d*vis plagued the serious, i think.

what the show represented and what it could be in the future was shifted by writers who discarded the potential the characters had and where they could take the show. but that's a whole other issue.

while at times i was not impressed by the show in the last season or so, there were other times where i was pleasantly surprised and invested in what they had to offer. which, by now this probably sounds repetitive with stuff I've said above...

the point is, that no matter what i love them. and while i knew that one day this would come to an end, i just thought that i would have more time. i thought it would be like the last two before them where it was announced which season would be their last. this is not their fault i know, but it still pains me.

there is so much left to discover and explore and because of the cancelation that won't be able to happen. at least not on screen. i know there are writers out there that will continue to write legacies and share it on the internet or in other places for people to see.

i've already been through this twice. i've lost two series in this universe and I'm about to lose the last one. what i really realized is that i am losing my comfort characters and in a way, just losing comfort. these characters and actors that brought them to life gave me something to look forward to when my day was bleak and i was alone. i don't care if that sounds sad or that i need to fix something in my life then. everyone has their own system of how they go about things or what they attach to, and this is mine. there are other shows that I've loved to a grand magnitude, but the tvdverse always comes in first place.

it has truly been a pleasure and honor to be able to experience 3 different shows with such lovely people who deserve the world. and that extends to everyone behind the scenes that make the show possible. i have loved being able to see friendly faces return and be apart of legacies (shoutout to the originals cast and mama laughlin + kai). i love the easter eggs and how they keep everything alive in the legacy that is after them. everyone who works on legacies has a passion for their work and care about what they do.

i'm going to miss them. i miss them already. but no matter what, i will always be grateful for what they gave me. i will always support them, and be endlessly proud of them.

i thought they'd be with me at least until the end of college. I have two years left, and they have one month. let's soak them in.

Standing in front of the window I hadn’t left the house in days too afraid that if my magic was gone that I would need a witch to give me a daylight ring. Wrapping my arms around myself I was still wearing the same blood stained closed. “You should change, Rae. We can’t leave the house with you wearing blood.”

“Have you found Josette yet?” Whipping my head around to my boyfriend he slowly walked into the room.

He paused in his step moving his hands behind his back eyeing me up and down in silence for a brief moment. “I haven’t yet. But my priority was making sure you remained alive.”

“Then we have nothing to talk about. Go find her then I will leave the mansion with you.” I grumbled at him turning back to look out the window watching the rain hit the glass where I pressed my hand against the glass.

He parted his mouth taking a breath. “Raelyn…”

“I have an entire fridge full of blood bags in the basement that you and your siblings have collected. So I don’t have to worry about going without blood. But I will say it again. Go find Josette and tell me she is alive. Then and only then will I leave this house.” I snapped at him wishing that I had my magic so I could just do it myself like I used to.

He shook his head down, eyeing his black boots before meeting my gaze. “I can compel you to behave, you know?”

“But you said you would never lay a hand on my head. So I don’t believe your threats. “ I turned to face him, raising my brows at him.

He vamped the rest of the way until we were pressed up against one another. Our eyes burn into the other's soul. “Right now you aren’t acting like yourself, Rae. You are struggling to deal with your heightened emotions. So yes I may never harm you. I will get you out of this house one way or another. You aren’t destined to be trapped here. You are a Queen.”

“But I am nothing without the family members that actually love me! Oh.” Covering my mouth with my hands I vamped into the bathroom throwing up. Gripping the side I lifted my head up hearing the front door open.

“Klaus! It’s Bonnie and me. She agreed to help us out!” Caroline hollers from downstairs but thanks to my vamp hearing I could hear her perfectly fine.

Wiping away at my mouth I put a hand on my stomach heading towards the staircase with him following closely behind me. “Why did you summon them here. You going to have them drag me out by my feet instead of doing it yourself?"

"They are here to help. Since you can't seem to preform magic the Bennett witch will find your precious cousin Josette." He told me squeezing my shoulder when we reached the bottom of the stairs.

The four of us gathered around a table with candles and the picture of Jo laying on the table. Along with a map and a knife like always. Bonnie extended her hands out to me and Klaus. "Alright so cut your palm and drip the blood on the frame. Then I want you to chant alongside me."

"Uh Bon." Caroline spoke.

Dropping my gaze to the floor. "My magic is gone, Bonnie. I already tried to do this spell but nothing happened."

"Had you turned yet?" She asked me.

Shaking my head no. "What could that possibly change?"

"From what I gather you being a siphon witch means that you should be able to still tap into your power. You weren’t born with magic. So I think you can still do this. You just have to concentrate. Let's begin." We grasped our hands together once I dragged the knife over my palm chanting. "Phasmatos tribum, nas ex viras sequita saguines ementas asten mihan ega petous.”

The candles flames grew where I opened my eyes quickly seeing a figure of Jo standing beside Klaus. “Raelyn, what the hell happened. I felt like I was dying from a spell.”

“Hello Josette, it’s so nice to finally meet you. If you were physically here I would hold you by your neck.” Klaus threatened my cousin by turning to face her.

Dropping my hands from Bonnie I warned him. “Nik, be nice to her. Jo look I can explain later but I am just so relieved that you are alive. What about Lucas and Olivia are they alright?”

“Yeah they’re fine. I called them a few days ago. What exactly happened to you the other day. Cause I called my dad and he said he felt it too. But I could have sworn that he was our Coven leader unless…” She trailed off seeing that my ring was gone. “What happened to your magical ring?”

Crossing my arms over my chest I huffed eyeing my boyfriend with a disgruntled look. “One of my boyfriends hybrids that used to be sired by him took it from me. So after I had taken the energy from your father then I got killed by one of the other hybrids when they attempted to kill Klaus.”

“You’re the leader now. Raelyn, you didn’t have to do that.” I cut her off.

“Jo, I had to do whatever I could to save you. He wasn’t going to stop hunting me or the baby - err babies inside me.”

Nik vamped until we were about to kiss at how close we were having everyone just stare at us silently watching at what was about to happen next between us. “What do you mean, babies? Did you see something while you were passed out before you came to transition.”

“Yeah I saw…I saw my brother. I saw Jacob, Klaus.” I responded by twirling his necklace around my neck.

Bonnie and Caroline both made a confused look between one another. “What do you mean you saw him when you died?”

“I don’t know how but I ended up in this place that looked like my childhood home. And then next thing I knew he said my name and I saw him.”

Klaus focused his attention back on me. “My mother once called a place like that the Other Side. Did he ever mention a name like that, love?”

“He didn’t say the actual name. He just said that souls that hadn’t transferred to peace went - ahhh!” Grabbing a hold of my stomach I felt harsh pain shoot through my body beginning from there. Lowering myself to the wooden floor I sniffed baring my teeth trying to push through the pain but it wasn’t working.

Klaus and Caroline rushed to my aid with Josette crying my name. “Raelyn!!!”

“Look at me, Rae. What’s happening. Tell us what is wrong?” He asked me running his hand up and down my arm sucking in a breath hearing something strong inside your stomach meaning it must be the babies. His babies inside his girl but that shouldn’t be possible now that she was dead.

Bonnie stepped closer to me gently placing her wrist on my hand up to the table cutting it again since it had healed, dripping my blood onto the map. She moved Jo’s picture away calling to the hybrid. “Give me your blood. I’m gonna try a spell.”

“No tricks, witch.” He bites into his wrist dropping blood on top of mine then focuses his eyes on mine seeing that I was still shaking through the pain where he pulled my head into his chest.

The Bennett witch began chanting causing the blood to move in our direction where it fell off the table. While it dripped onto the floor it circles around me then suddenly the map and the blood circle burst into flames. "Phesmatos quare infantatum. Phesmatos quare filios. Ado finet terraeum. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem. Phesmatos quare infantatum. Finet terraeum. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem. Phesmatos quare infantatum. Ado finet terraeum. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem. Phesmatos quare filios. Nunc temos rogamus. Combutis et sanguinem."

"Rae!!" Jo cried out.

"Oh my gosh!" Caroline gasped covering her hands with her mouth.

Klaus rose to his feet gently pulling me up with him. Yet he kept one hand on my lower back and his other hand ran through my loose hair knowing that it would help calm me down. “What have you done, witch. You said you would help her.”

“I was looking for a sign of what was causing her pain and I found the source.” She explains placing her hands on the table. “It’s the baby - uh correction babies. Her brother wasn’t lying. She is having three babies all at once.”

Josette walked over still using the astral projection spell. “Wait, how is that possible. If she’s a vampire now shouldn’t the babies be dead?”

“Normally yes. But before she died as you well know Raelyn consumed Esther Mikaelson’s dark magic. It was killing her until she turned. The reason the babies aren’t dead is because they are siphons. The dark magic became like a protective barrier around them.” Focusing my gaze on the witch my hands fell down to my stomach glancing back to Klaus who intertwined his hand with mine softly.

Caroline picked up her phone and quickly hung up quickly with whoever it was. “Hey sorry but Jeremy tried to kill Elena, we have to go.” Jo disappeared when the pair headed to leave.

Draping my arms around Nik’s neck I sent him a smirk the second they were gone. “Can you help me with something personal?”

“And what would that be, Rae?” He tugged me into his embrace head lightly tilting to the side knowing the smirk on my face meant business.

Leaning up on my toes I brushed my nose against his gripping, his shoulder blades under my nails. It was like after Bonnie said that the babies were alive something inside of me changed course. I never wanted to hurt people but he came after my children and me. “I want Tyler Lockwood to suffer.”

“Then you have the perfect teacher, Queen Raelyn.” He smirked back at me.
