in my heart the novel ended with lloyd at the beach with his family and javier on that vacation they'd been planning all the way back when he first paid off all the debt. he's building sandcastles for the summons to play kaiju with and coaxing javier into relaxing and pulling him into the water with him so they can cool off (and maybe practice some mouth to mouth breathing-). marbella packed enough lunch to feed a small army and arcos is fighting for his life trying to set up an umbrella to keep the sun off her. julian is simultaneously trying to stop his mother from fretting over him getting sunburned and anxiously fretting over a very pregnant scheherazade, who is wondering how likely it is that javier will agree to spar with her because she's really craving either a good challenge or some spicy pickled cabbage and last time she finished it lloyd pouted about it for days so like. she thinks she can convince javier to fight the pregnant lady

(Platonic manhwas x reader) *Recommend to play Here Comes A Thought by 'Steven Universe'

Sniffles can be heard in the bedroom, coming from a boy with brown hair and green eyes. He looks to be still in his teens and is currently sitting up on his bed crying to himself - quietly as he can without disturbing others so he can have a peaceful night for once.

A knock on his window interrupt his crying session. It startled him so bad that he jumped off his bed but he quickly scrambled up to his legs, looking at the window to find a teen, that is definitely looks younger than him, sitting crisscross on a tree branch. Their hand was up from knocking on the window and they grin lazily at him. The older boy was shocked to see them and was about to run or even scream but the teen simply put a finger on their lips indicating for him to be quiet. He doesn't know why but he did. He stayed quiet.

The teen pulled out a paper, a roughed up quill and a small bottle of ink to put down beside them on the branch from their satchel. They write something down quickly but gently before finishing up and turning it around to show the still-in-shock boy.

'You okay there?'

Even though the teen hold up the paper close to the window, the boy went up to read it a bit more clearly since the glass on the window can make the outside a bit blurry. Now, when he finally see it clearly, he doesn't know what to do. To be fair, if someone randomly showed up by your window - you would be freaked out wouldn't you? Unfortunately the reason why the boy didn't alarm anyone is because he comes to the realization that by the time they arrived, the teen will be gone. Even by then, whoever came to check out, they would start beating him up - again - while accusing him of 'lying' to them and also for interrupting their sleep.

Another knock interrupt his spiralling mind. The teen's face now looks concerned yet bored as they lightly shake the paper once again to bring his attention to it. The boy hesitated before nodding slowly at the question on the paper. The teen turn back the paper around to write something else on it.

'Then why were you crying?'

It was a simple and probably innocent question but it meant more to the boy. He knew why he was crying but he's not telling a random stranger out of his window the reason why. Ironic considering he engaged a little bit in the conversation with the teen. He crosses him arms and look off to the side, showing by his actions that he is not willing or even going to open up. The teen frowned at this and turn the paper back around to write one last thing to the boy. Once done writing, you turn it back around for him to read once more.

'I don't care if you're not going to open but just know that I will be sending letters at night. So respond to them please when you can :P

Farewell for now, Julian.'

With a silly face at the end. Before the boy could comprehend what he has read, the teen quickly fold the paper quick and put it at the window pane with a rock on top, then clean up- putting their quill and bottle of ink back in their satchel. Soon after, the teen jumped down and disappeared out of his sight. The boy hurried to his window and look down, trying to find the teen to see if they're not injured because it's definitely quite a fall down. But he doesn't even see a footprint or single dust left behind as if they just disappeared. He gently open the window and grab the paper from under the rock. Opening it up to re-read to what has written on the paper from their one-sided conversation, ".... I'll try," he whispered to the air as if he's disturbing the night if he so much as so raise his voice.

He slowly close and lock the window, still keeping at eye out on the outside. He decided that maybe it's time to go to bed. He closed off the lights and went to bed in peace at last.

Note: there might be some mistake... my native tongue is not English.

First of all, we gotta change 'The Frontera estate' to 'The Asrahan estate'

The Baron and Baroness had a son named Javier Asrahan, who showed remarkable talent, particularly in swordsmanship. They made the decision to bring in a family they had known for years, the Frontera family to train young Javier.

The Frontera family had two sons, Lloyd and Julian, who had grown up alongside Javier. While Arcos Frontera lacked the swordsmanship skills to train Javier, it didn't matter much since the Asrahan family never intended for Javier to pursue a career as a swordsman. He was, after all, the sole heir. Thus, they decided to employ Arcos to oversee Javier's upbringing.

Unfortunately, a tragic event unfolded when the estate was attacked by monsters, resulting in the untimely demise of the Baron and Baroness. As a consequence, all the inheritance was passed on to the five-year-old Javier. Arcos, a close friend of the Asrahan family, and with the approval of the townsfolk, assumed the role of governor, motivated by his desire to ensure Javier's happiness.

Fast-forward, Javier, from a young age, aspired to become a knight, driven by the desire to protect his people. Arcos, who regarded Javier as his own son, offered unwavering support. However, despite his best efforts, Lloyd, the eldest son of the Frontera family, couldn't match Javier's natural talents. No matter how hard he trained, he remained a lower-level Sword Expert. It's as if Lloyd mirrored Javier's reckless, rowdy youth.

When Javier reached the age of 20, he made the decision to become the governor, a choice that endeared him to the townsfolk. Meanwhile, Lloyd continued to live a carefree life, rarely fulfilling his responsibilities. Various events unfolded over time, but the overall timeline stayed relatively close to the canon.

Javier, despite his lack of experience, was scammed and ended up in substantial debt. However, this setback did little to diminish his standing in the eyes of the people.

The Frontera family, after sending Julian to the capital, continued to support Javier diligently, working tirelessly until Kim Suho transmigrated into Lloyd's body.

Okay, I just gotta rant a bit about TGED, and probably will get other opinions, and that's great, so please share them!

Also, this is mostly my speculation, I have ONLY read the webtoon, and I haven't been able to find the novel properly translated to read, so have mercy.

SO. I know that og!Lloyd was a bully to Javier and Julien and all that jazz, but it looked to me that he was an alcoholic that desperately needed help.

He lashed out and thew fits to call the attention of his parents, that he was sure as hell they were going to replace him with Javier at any point. (Bc let's be real, the Frontera's affection seems heavily conditional)

Arcos was pretty okay by letting Javier do whatever he wanted, becoming a knight was his choice and he did everything to make that happen.

Then, we have Javier's duties, that was to watch over 'Lloyd', which that also more or less what he did because he wasn't with Lloyd all the time.

The Fronteras were more than okay by letting him leave their alcoholic son alone and drunk somewhere in town. Which was what killed him by falling n breaking his head,,,, that wouldn't have happened if Javier was actually there,,,,

The there's this detail I noticed in the imagery, in most cases it's suggested that Javier is confused as the heir and novel bc he's handsome, but that's not it.

it's bc he gives a novels profile. And the reason is his clothes.

Javier seems to be dressing like the proper heir, and wears the same style as Arcos Frontera, meanwhile Lloyd is left to dress like a commoner. That's why he's confused as Javier's servant, bc he looks like it.

Arcos Frontera didn't want to deal with an alcoholic son, he had enough on his plate by letting his estate become in debt and bc of his spineless attitude.

He was most likely replace Lloyd with Javier, or make Julian the heir. He was ignoring Lloyd, and just paying attention when he caused damage to the town. Because then it would come back to him.

He didn't actually cared if he died in a ditch.

I don't justify og!Lloyd's behavior at all, but I understand what was going with him. He was mad, he was jealous, and he was frustrated, and the only thing that made him feel better was some drinks.

He was so depressed he wanted to be blackout drunk, and that killed him anyway.

I'm honestly very much into how our!Lloyd has put such boundaries with the Fronteras, bc he's a guest in his own home. He wants to lazy around, but he doesn't actually do it at home, he did it once and immediately got an excuse to go out and work.

But anyway, this is such my own analysis on the matter, I find absolutely fascinating the takes this webtoon has taken over the Isekai trope, and how that affects to those around the mc.

well they definitely aren't planning on it, even they feel like it'd be a step too far. i mean, swearing to be at each other's side for the rest of their lives, putting the other's well-being above their own, sharing their hard times and their happy moments, growing old together,,, yeah no why would they ever do that it'd be crazy 😳

so they just. plan on fake dating for a little while and then eventually claim it just didn't work out between them.

except that every time either of them approach arcos or marbella to break the news they end up chickening out last moment cause they're just. so excited. and happy for them. how can they dash their hopes and dreams like that.

lloyd goes to marbella and tries to talk to her about it, but then she starts telling him how happy she is he found someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with, how she hopes with all her heart they'll experience the same happiness in their relationship that her and arcos do, and quietly confessing how she can rest a bit easier now that she knows there will always be someone taking care of him even when she's not there to do it anymore, how relieved she is that javier will now be a part of their family officially and that they'll have one another to keep each other safe. also she was wondering if he'd prefer a spring or an autumn wedding?? spring is lovely of course, but she does think he looks absolutely dashing in an autumn color pallete. and oh right, was there something you wanted to tell me dear?

uuhh, not really. autumn sounds perfect actually, says lloyd with a smile, feeling the echos of his internal screaming reverberate inside his head.

javier goes to arcos and asks if they can talk in private, but the moment they're alone arcos just. hugs him tightly and then tells him he has nothing to worry about, of course he has his permission and blessing to marry his son, truly lloyd is already an adult, he doesn't even really need to ask arcos but he's glad javier came to him. he cannot even begin to express how happy he is that javier will now be part of the frontera family in the eyes of everyone, how he'd always thought of him as a son and that he's sorry his hesitance to not take over the place of javier's parents stopped him from expressing it as he grew up. that he's so glad he and lloyd found happiness in one another and that he hopes they can grow old together in peace like he and marbella are. and finally that he knows its selfish of him but that he's so very relieved it's javier who will marry his son, for he knows there's no one on the world he'll be safer with and that will grant him a peace of mind like no other when it's time for him to go. and oh look at him rambling like an old man, was there something else you wanted to talk about son?

... no sir, that was all. i promise i'll take care of him says javier, very, very carefully not looking at the oh so close throw pillow he wants to scream into.

so like. what are they supposed to do. tell the truth?? not marry each other??? not swear to spend the rest of their lives at each others side???? sure they defeated the king of hell, but please be realistic there's only so much they can do.

and god yeah that is exactly how it would go. these two would be staring deep into each other's eyes as they say their vows and be thinking 'he's only doing this to keep them happy he doesn't feel anything for me this is just him being a good son/knight'. but no, i do want them to be together for real before they get to that point, that'd be so embarrassing for them lmao

also in my head they both already moaned extensively about their feelings for the other and their hopeless situation to julian separately. so now he's burdened with the knowledge both his hyung and best friend are complete idiots who absolutely deserve each other. god. someone put him out of his misery. he's absolutely holding this over their heads once they pull them out of their asses and realize they could've been making out for months now and how stupid they truly are.

Sometimes I get sad thinking how the Count, Countess, and even Julian call Javier "Sir Asrahan".

Like maybe it's actually something really nice; a sign of respect for all the hard work Javier's put in to becoming a knight for the Frontera family, and he can proudly use a knight's title ("Sir"). I could see him really enjoying that. A badge of honor, showing his hard work and loyalty.

But like. I dunno. Do none of them remember the little boy who grew up in the manor too? That was Javier, who grew up wearing the same little bowties Julian did. Where's Javier, the young man close enough to Julian to complain to each other about Lloyd? No, even in private, apparently he's Sir Asrahan.
