Soft music was echoing through the room. The sounds bouncing off the walls and causing the acoustics to become a bit louder than they were supposed to be. Izuru's black hair continuously flowed across his face as he swayed softly, a soft hand in his own, just about as pale as his. You'd expect his other hand to be at the waist of the other person who was dancing with him, but instead it was stroking her dull pink hair. Chiaki's head was drooped over his shoulder, her clip gone from where it usually is and instead wedged in between their interlocked hands, neither minding the piece of plastic as they swiftly maneuvered around the room.

The place was dimly lit with only the buzzing LED light of a screen secured on the wall, accompanied by a lingering gaze of a person watching them from behind the screen. A waltz was playing in the background that seemed a bit too dark to be a waltz. Izuru hummed along to the melody, having been dancing along for too long now, they weaved through the massive room, pillars lining the walls with massive curtained doors at each end. Though he wanted to hold her forever, the most of him didn't understand this attachment to her.

He never understood why he felt this way, was it because she looked at him as if he was worth something? Or was a part of who he used to be attracted to her? Her charm was more or less dead, along with her. Even though, he didn't want to let go of this lifeless corpse he had hanging over his shoulder, only his heartbeat being audible to the both of them, as his feet dragged along the ground mindlessly, covered in blood along with the most of him. He gripped her hand slightly tighter as he came to a stop, pulling her up from her waist. Chiaki's head hung back as her body arched onto his arm, her open wounds spilling blood that seeped from her torso and legs into her uniform and dripped down to her body. That made Izuru felt sick somewhere.

He set her down and let go of her, the clip still in his grasp as he knelt down on his knees next to her. A finger of his brushed the hair out of her face as more unreasonable tears fell down his face, this would've been the second time after she fell limp earlier, but her body was colder than it was then. Her blood covered his torso and stained a bit of his pants as well, though her legs were mostly dragged along with him. Izuru's hand went from her forehead to cup her cheeks tenderly, his fingers passing between strands of her hair where the clip used to be, and as if on impulse he whispered to her,

"I hope you've made enough memories, Nanami."

Sometimes I feel like chiaki gets bored of Izuru and just really wants Hajime a lot of the days so she tries to change him back to normal and it annoys Izuru

Of course, he will do as she asks and give Hajime back control, but it *does* slightly irritate him when Chiaki and Nagito ask for him.

But nevertheless, he does care (as much as Izuru can care) for his mates’ feelings.

My Ship in Five Minutes - Kamunami (DR3)

This one was a little hard because I have to really consider their personalities. They don’t have a lot of interactions in canon, so most of this is my own interpretation and based off headcanons. Again, this is my own interpretation. If you have something completely different, by all means, fill out one yourself. Do you honey. I’m gonna put my explanations below since it was hard trying to fill in the boxes with text. I’m skipping the ones with X’s because that should be easy to see. 

1. For the more popular and charismatic one, I put Izuru as popular and Chiaki as charismatic. Izuru would probably fall under both just because he’s Ultimate Everything. I felt that Chiaki wouldn’t fall under any of these, but then again, she managed to gather her classmates together as seen in the DR3 anime. So while she doesn’t care about being in the forefront, she does have a sort of charm about her that makes her charismatic. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been chosen as the class rep. 

2. Has more experience with relationships: I know neither one of these two would have any experience, but for giggles, I put: “Do games count?” for Chiaki’s because that’s probably her only experience with dating and romance.

3. How It Happens: I feel like this one is fine. Chiaki wouldn’t fall in love with Izuru right away. I mean, have you see the way he talks to girls? He’s a bit of a jerk, and knows he’s better than everyone. Obviously, from the first meeting, she’s not going to be all over him like a certain despair queen. She’s going to have to get to know him.

I think Izuru’s placement is fine. He’s not going to be head over heels for Chiaki like people think. He could care less about her. But through her determination of wanting to befriend him, he starts to develop something. He isn’t sure what that something is at first, but eventually he comes to like her. 

4. Handling Conflict: Yes, these two are going to have conflict. Both of their views are different. Izuru is all about logic and being rational, while Chiaki is the type that goes with her gut. Her feelings. Again, she is naive. She’s not Ms. Perfect like everyone thinks she is. She may not be a bitch like some characters, but you don’t have to be bitchy just to have flaws. You can be nice and have flaws too. 

This one gave me some trouble cause again, there are hardly any interactions between the two other than angst material. Izuru is not the type of person who gets upset, so I put him as laid back on the chart. I don’t see him being very aggressive. His tone, or his eyes might indicate when he’s upset, but he’s not physical about it. I feel like Chiaki might unintentionally start arguments, or get frustrated when Izuru doesn’t understand her feelings on certain things. I think that’s when the conflicts would break out. This probably happens a lot, but that’s normal. As humans, we don’t agree on many things. We have different opinions, different tastes. 

As for how long it takes to apologize... I think it depends on the situation. I think Chiaki might be quicker due to not wanting any bad feelings between the two of them. Izuru might take some time, but he might also want to apologize because he knows that sometimes his words can be a bit harsh. This really depends on the argument, who instated it, and where their relationship stands. How upset they are with each other. 

5. Relationship Attitude: I know these two would be very dedicated to each other. Don’t ask me why, I just know. Izuru doesn’t strike me as the cheating type. You could come onto him and he wouldn't be affected. Chiaki doesn’t strike me as the cheating type either. For example, we see from the anime that she doesn’t forget about Hajime, even after he’s gone. She still waits for him. Chiaki is a team player. As for affection, I see these two as being more private. Even then, Izuru isn’t overly affectionate. It depends on the situation. Chiaki is a little more affectionate (hand holding, hugging), but I see these two as also showing affection without touching each other, or using words all the time. It takes a while before they get to that point, but once Chiaki knows Izuru well enough, she realizes that for him, just being near her is all that he needs. 

6. Showing Affection: This kind of ties in with the one above, so I won’t go into too much detail. As much as I want Izuru to just grab Chiaki in his arms, pick up her, I know that’s not him. I headcanon Izuru as not being too comfortable with touching as a result of his experiments, so Chiaki is the one that helps him get used to physical contact. That, and he probably overthinks too much, to the point where he doesn’t take action. That said, Chiaki is the one initiating most of the physical contact. She is kind of wary at first because she assumes it will make him uncomfortable, but Izuru will tell her if it bothers him or not.

As for stuff like verbal affection, same thing applies. Chiaki is the one who uses verbal affection the most. Izuru rarely talks as it is, but he does say words of affection if he feels it is necessary, like when Chiaki is having doubts, or worried. 

7. Dealing with Jealously: I don’t see these two as the jealous types. I like to imagine Izuru being jealous of Nagito, or getting a bit irritated when Chiaki gets along better with other men, but he usually keeps it to himself, or tries to understand why he is feeling this way. As for Chiaki, I feel like she would be lonely/sad when she feels like she can’t really relate to Izuru. Someone like Junko understands what it’s like to be bored of everything, but Chiaki can’t share in those feelings because she doesn’t have that ability/talent. I feel like while Chiaki would be honest with Izuru in everything, she internalizes her emotions sometimes, and ends up being a bit distant. Izuru will pick up on this, but because he’s different, he has to be careful in what he says when he tries to comfort/reassure her. 

8. Attachment: We don’t know much of Chiaki’s past, but I feel that once she gets close to someone, she gets attached. We see this with Hajime. We know she was a loner as she mentioned in the anime. She went to class, but because she was always in her own world, she never really interacted with anyone. She felt she couldn’t really make friends with her talent. 

Izuru doesn’t really need attachment because he’s used to being alone. He doesn’t really care for building bonds with other people. Does that mean he can’t get attached? No, but he wouldn’t be overly attached. He enjoys being in Chiaki’s presence, but he can also handle being away from her. 

As for how protective they are of each other, perhaps in the beginning Chiaki is very overprotective of Izuru because she knows he has been through a lot. She knows he can handle himself, but she won’t stand if someone talks about him and spreads false rumors. Izuru might be a little overprotective because Chiaki is the type to go into situations without really thinking, but as time passes, they take it down a notch. Do they have to rush in all the time? No. Do they got each other’s back no matter what? Absolutely. I love an unbreakable team.

Prompt: kamunami with chiaki growing out her hair

A/N I'm always game for fluff especially between these two (since we only got angst in the anime) so yay! Lighthearted fluff!

Fixation - kamunami

Nanami absolutely adores Kamukura's long hair.

Aside from videogames, her favorite past time is messing with his ridiculously long hair that miraculously never tangles. She didn't think that was even possible but then again this was Kamukura. She swore that she's never seen him comb his hair even once and yet it's as majestic as those edited in commercials. When he stayed overnight, she tried to catch an imperfection as she combed through his bed hair with her hand only to reach the ends with awe over its impeccable smoothness.

It's a mystery that she can't seem to get enough of.

It's also convenient. The only time she was ever interested in hairstyling was because of videogames with those themes but she never did pay much attention to that in real life. How else do you think she has her hair fly away so much? The secret behind those swooshes is actually careful negligence. But that's beside the point. This is about Kamukura's hair and Nanami's fascination with it.

She started out with putting it up in a ponytail, simple enough that even she could pull it off. She'd tie it up and sometimes even down low in a dolphintail. Then she moved on to braiding after watching tutorials online. She branched out from there and experimented. Sometimes she'd try to go for those in fashion magazines and other times, most of the time really, she'd style his hair in uncanny semblance to videogame characters. Point is that she was enjoying playing with his luxuriously long hair.

"Mmm, is there any style in particular that you'd want today?" She knew that he had no preferences but she still asks anyways. It's the thought that counts after all. He lets her do as she pleases so the least she could do is let him know that he always has a say even when he doesn't have anything to say.

"Surprise me." He answers just like he'd always say. She never does surprise him like how she wants to but she doesn't give up. Someday she will surprise him so hard that he'll be his most expressive yet, she thinks to herself. It also sounds like a better excuse for playing with his hair.

"Okay!" And Nanami works through his hair as she hums the catchy bgm of a recent game she played. Coincidentally, it's the same game whose character's hairstyle she'll try to copy. She's especially fond of that protagonist and she can't help but be excited over how this will turn out.

The extra cheerfulness doesn't go over Kamukura as he raises an eyebrow in suspicion. "You seem... happy."

"I'm always happy with you." She replies without hesitation and continues to comb through while facing him. "I really like your hair, you know. Have I ever told you that?"

He never answers her question. He's too busy making a statement as his own fingers comb through the ends of her hair. His hand drags through languidly and she has to pause as a shiver passes through her frame. He almost smirks at her reaction. Almost but his amusement is heard in his voice as he suddenly says, "I like yours much better."

And she just blushes so hard at the comment especially when he looks at her with such smoldering eyes. Her grip on the comb tightens like how her chest clutches with anticipation. She lets out a shaky breath. "Oh..."

Nanami grows her hair long afterwards.

It was hard at first but mostly because she was terrible at maintenance. With her hair thicker and longer, she realized just how practical her short hair was. Long hair is nice and all but only if it's not in her face her eyes specifically, in zippers getting stuck, in everywhere because of tragic hairfall. Basically, she still likes long hair only if it's not hers. It's annoying and she would rather have all of it chopped off but then she thinks of him and that one lingering comment, and then she reschedules the trip to the hairdresser.

It took months, almost a year, and now her hair falls just above her waist. She's gotten better at taking care of it but only barely. That's because she lets him take care of it for her instead.

Kamukura absolutely adores Nanami's long hair.

Having her fingers go through his hair is one thing and having his go through hers is a whole new different experience. It's not as smooth as his admittedly but it is soft and pink suites her just well. He doesn't style hers like how she styles his, instead he prefers her hair down- which annoys her the most but tolerates just for him. He likes to bury his face in her locks and just breathe. Her scent is fragrant and overwhelming, and he finds it soothing. Not a day goes by that he doesn't take joy through playing with her hair.

But as much as he adores her long hair in his fingertips, he especially enjoys pulling it aside so he could drop a searing kiss across her nape. He enjoys adding knots to her hair as clutches it when he pulls her in for an intoxicating kiss. He enjoys getting tangled in it along with their mess of limbs when they embrace too passionately. He enjoys her hair and lets her know every day. Her hair always ends up a mess after but she does not mind it one bit not when she catches him with a small smile.

And when they're not too fixated with each other's hair, they remember just how smitten they are over one another.

-Favorite Thing About Them

Okay. Don’t be mad at me cos I’ll explain this. I like the way he rejected Nagito in Chapter Zero in the second game. When I say that, I mean I like his speech. I like how his identity is hidden. I like how he writes Nagito, whose abilities seem utterly extraordinary, off completely as though he’s nothing. I like that he is this careless mystery devoid of excitement and interest in anything but whatever fleeting bits of intrigue he can find in things. His speech about everything being boring and ordinary people being nothing but worthless leeches to talent is juxtaposed against the fact that to be this person who says such things, Hajime had to strip himself of his entire identity.

A + writing and atmosphere in Chapter Zero. It gets me having goosebumps every time.

-Least Favorite Thing About Them

The fact that I have that annoying thing of getting sad and depressed at his scene with Chiaki’s death. That and that I also adore that scene too because of the angst I’m snorting from it alone.
