Okay. Time to do Goodbye Despair edition of appearance headcanons

Teruteru Hanamura - (He/Him Hyper pan sexual) I don’t actually hate his design, he looks like the plump chef decorations everyone had in their kitchen in the 90s. He has thick hair and uses a ridiculous amount of pomade and hairspray to style it. (How he doesn’t catch on fire doing flambé is beyond me)

Ultimate Imposter - (They/Them intersex pansexual) They have to hide all of their natural features as part of their talent, but I feel like they probably have a somewhat feminine build. Due to their weight, they can pass more easily as any gender without being questioned (and maybe with some shape wear to help seal the deal) and this is pretty gender affirming for them.

Mahiru Koizumi - (She/They, Lesbian) She is midsized with a small tummy pooch and kind of pear shaped. Her freckles extend to her shoulders and back, and she has somewhat crooked teeth, but in kind of an endearing way. Has a small nose ring.

Peko Pekoyama - (She/Her, grey asexual) Slim and muscular with very little curvature, not that she needs a big pair of jugs to slow her down. She has really long thin fingers, and 9 times out of ten they are ice cold. She also has several scars from weapons training.

Ibuki Mioda - (They/She, pansexual) Built like a board. Just no hips or chest to spare, but they prefer a more androgynous style anyway, as is popular in the scene. Always has raccoon eyes, and will rub or picked at her face, smearing them in the process. Septum and tongue piercings and stretched lobes. Also has light acne scars.

Hiyoko Saonji - (She/Her, Lesbian) Looks like she’s 12. Her hair is very reactive to humidity and she is prone to turning into a poodle if it gets wet. Has a sizable front tooth gap, which only serves to make her look more childish.

Mikan Tsumiki - (She/Her, bisexual-female pref) She is plus sized and has wider hips, which she bumps into stuff with all the time. She has a round face and a button nose, which are always rosy pink, because of how often she is crying. Just chronically puffy eyes.

Gundam Tanaka - (They/Them, pansexual) They are kind of average/slim and don’t have much in the way of muscle. There’s just not as much under those robes as you might expect. Wears corpse paint and other trad goth makeup often but hates going out without at least using a light/white foundation. Black lipstick is a must for special occasions, and they always carry at least one lint roller to maintain their perfect black clothes with the hammies. Has a septum piercing and stretched lobes.

Nekomaru Nidai-(He/Him, Bisexual, female pref) Obviously built like a Greek god. Is very particular about his manscaping, and you bet your ass his fades are always on point. His hands are so fucking huge and blocky that it’s almost comical to see him holding someone else’s hand. His chest is hairy, and he has eyebrow and nipple piercings.

Nagito Komaeda - (He/They, gay) The man is dying of cancer. He is deathly pale and skinny. If he wasn’t a wacko, any sane person would be concerned for him. His hair is dry and coarse, in an over processed bleach kind of way. Has dark circles and yellowing teeth. Somehow though, he still manages to have a smooth, soft baby face and unnaturally clear skin. Is lacking in the eyebrow department, but has white double lashes on Satoru Gojo’s level.

Chiaki Nanami - (She/Her, pan) She is chubby. Like not just on the cusp of plus size, but a few sizes deep. Has stretch marks on her hips, chest, and stomach. Pale skin and puffy eyes from poor sleeping habits. American girl doll teeth and frizzy hair from falling asleep on random surfaces.

Kazuichi Souda (He/They, bisexual female pref) Has a bit of pudge from eating processed junk all the time, but doesn’t seem to mind. He had braces as a kid, so his teeth are perfectly straight and really the only tight laced thing about the guy. Has shaved sides and hates washing his hair, so he uses the beanie to cover up the greasy bits and his little black roots when they grow out. Breaks out easily, and has some acne scars. Pierced nostrils, tongue, and stretched ears.

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu - (He/Him FtM, ace spec?) Kind of scrawny and will just never be tall. Freckles on his shoulders and back. Has a tiny amount of peach fuzz over his top lip and is really hoping it will start to fill in. Blonde eyebrows that are barely visible to begin with, that he still insists on shaving slits into. Pierced ears.

Sonia Nevermind - (She/Her, pansexual) Petite all around. Dainty little hands and the softest skin. Very fine hair, and like Fuyuhiko, she is a bit lacking in eyebrow definition, but she has to fill them in. Has a small upturned nose and definitely does the princess peach lip thing.

Akane Owari - (She/Her, pansexual) Muscular and thick all over. As much as she definitely has abs, having them visibly defined is generally speaking, not healthy for most women, so they’re under a smooth soft tummy. She has a wider button nose and full lips that she would love to put gloss on if it didn’t interfere with her snacking. Has somewhat crooked teeth and her hair is consistently tangled.

Hajime Hinata - (He/Him, pansexual) Buff arms. All around pretty stocky but not fat. Stubby thick hands. Tans easily and has the worst farmers’ tan from his stupid polo shirt. Gets freckles across his nose when he’s in the sun a lot. He has bushy eyebrows that could use some attention and thick lips.

Fuyuhiko and Peko, obvi

Hiyoko and Mahiru, also obvi (Ibuki likes to join, sometimes it's just Hiyoko and Ibuki)

Ryota and Impostor, but sometimes also Mikan, and Ibuki, and any variation of the 4 (Ibuki is very eager to meet the new guy, and loves to snuggle Impostor, Impostor is a bit extra protective of Mikan, Ryota is just too nervous to say anything but he and Mikan bond over that, Ibuki is a little TOO eager to room with Mikan but the latter is not complaining)

Akane and Nekomaru, Souda joins them fairly frequently

Sonia and Gundham

Sonia and Akane have special planned nights together, got into the habit when it was just the Survivors

Gundham and Nekomaru like to get together to gush about Their Girls and sometimes it ends up in a snuggly widdle sleepover

If Kazuichi gets spooked, he sometimes seeks out Fuyuhiko

Ibuki squeezes in wherever she feels like

If anyone needs some extra safety and comfort or just a nice chat and bonding time, Hajime's door is always open. Impostor's door is also theoretically always open, but you had BETTER knock. You never know who's in there... Or what they're doing

Only a few people are allowed full access into the rooms of Fuyuhiko & Peko (if Ibuki gets to Peko, Fuyuhiko makes himself scarce somewhere else, it's good for them to bond), Hiyoko & Mahiru, Gundham (if Sonia is there she'll totally let you in though)

Hajime is a popular choice for almost everyone, it's exhausting sometimes

Nekomaru is the prince of a tiny, nearby country of only a few thousand. Nekomaru is far far more democratic than the rest of his family and is determined to take his father's place on the throne and start making drastic changes to how the country is run.

Peko Pekoyama - Ultimate Cook

Peko was raised by her grandmother and spent many an hour watching her cook. When Peko was finally old enough to start learning the most basic recipes, she fell in love with cooking. Now that her grandmother is ill and nearing death, Peko is destined to inherit her diner and become the head chef.

Ibuki Mioda - Ultimate Gamer

Ibuki has spent most of her life playing video games, from tomagachis, to the NES, to her beloved PS4. Ibuki with her bubbly, upbeat personality and showstopping looks is a rather popular twitch streamer.

This is me when making this idea and therefor doing it for no reason than my own pleasure and buisness. Please read ahead in your own accord and give me your thoughts afterwards!

My Danganronpa AU where at least most of the cast are married or related to each other!

This family dynamic needs some explaining to do and this is mostly thanks to my brain not connecting shit or my sister or Tumblr/Reddit doing it's magic!

Okay, so, in this AU/Headcanon Taka's dad was married to a woman who gave birth to twins, Celestia and Taka, however she run off with both of them after they where Mr. Ishimaru managed to get Taka back but was too late to get Celestia back as she was in the system in adoption. She later on gets adopted into the family she has in canon.

So technically Gundham is a bridge of sorts of the five and here's why! He's technically the only one out of the set to have the same mum and dad! When Taka and Celestia's bio mum ran off she ran off to her new boa whom she had out Lord of Ice Gundham Tanaka! Buuuuuuuuut that man wasn't too faithful cause he had an affair with the mother of Ibuki. In "revenge" of this Taka's and Celestia's bio mum went back and got with her ex which resulted in her pregnant with Peko whom, without telling either man she was pregnant in the first place, gave up for adoption. But after this she did start caring for Gunham more and became a more beloved mum. Gundham's parents broke up in this process and he went and lived with his mother while his dad went off and started a relationship with Ibuki's mother who had Kokichi years later.

Sadly, during this time Ibuki was taken away from the home due to it being unfit for her and she wound up in the Foster System, same goes for Kokichi after he was five.

EDIT: I decided to add Mikan in the family as well! She's older than Ibuki by a year, still not sure how to write her other than saying she's Tanaka's sister who the dad took during the messy divorce. EDIT 2: After popular vote Maki is added onto the list! To be fair I was a bit confused how to add her, similar to Mikan, I was going to add her as a twin to Peko but then I thought on it more and decided she was the final child born after Peko but Tanaka's, Ibuki's, Mikan's, and Kokichi's father had custody over her to "get back" at her getting back with her ex husband for a second. His wife got bored and put her up for adoption so yeah-

Yet another case of very confusion yet somehow will make sense!

Mahiru is the second born after Leon, Himiko was the third conceived right after, and Masaru was the last of the family tree.

Starting with Leon's mother and father meeting, getting married, and having him life was great. Until Leon became old enough to realize his mother was being abused and stood up to her, which resulted in him being abused before the man disappeared into the night never to be seen again. After this he was given a somewhat split custody of living not by the father but by the rest of Leon's family especially when his mother left him to deal with her own trauma but promised to return when she is "capable of raising him" her words.

Some time after the separation she fell in love with another man and mad Mahiru soon after. Sadly, the relationship didn't last so long due to the trauma of her first marriage and Mahiru was sent to live with her father.

I would like to edit and say Himiko has the same dad not the same mum as the others

Of course the dad met other women and got them pregnant, Himiko's mother leaving him before he even knew of her pregnancy and then he met Masaru's mother and well his sad life began

As for Soda and Kaito (I can never remember if Soda is his first or last name I think Kazuichi's his last name is he in different areas?)? They're cousins of different sides! Soda is the cousin of Leon and Mahiru from the mum's side while while Kaito is the cousin of Himiko and Masaru from the dad's side.

And yes I know I forgot Kanon, I will fix that mistake here and one day on the list!

Also, does anyone else headcanon Gundham and Soda being once friends when they attended the same middle school?

Oh look at that, another semi broken family!

This one is purely based off bad mums all around!

So, Naegi and Komaru are obviously siblings in this AU but their dad had a brother who is both Kirumi's and Rantaro's father who passed on when out Makoto siblings were too young to know they had cousins.

The mum, however, put them in the system where they were separated and have very faint memories of the other like a "imaginary friend" situation. However, prior of that marriage she had Nagito and like her kids later on she left him alone. Though I'd like to change that a bit. Let's say Nagito was born more so as a surrogate baby. Like the Komaeda paid her to have their child and she gave him to them afterwards.

Hoping to get rich, mother went and slept with a rich man and got pregnant, however said man refused to accept her calls. So what does she do? She left her baby in front of the home of the father's family. . . The Towa's family

And this is just a fun either half-sibling, full sibling but parents divorced scenario, and/or plain "my dad married your mum" scene!

The overhype and woobifying them is pissing me off. 2) I hate when ppl are like "wow every character is in love with my favorite character. If I'm in love with them why aren't everyone else?" Everyone is in love with Nagito. Everyone is in love with Kazuichi. Everyone is in love with Mahiru. hiiiiii hieeee so. danganronpa was my special interest for a solid six years and i still have a Lot of that knowledge locked in my brain. and i wanna talk about it again, you starting this blog may have rekindled my hyperfixation. please. tell me all ur music headcanons. i have singing headcanons for the sdr2 cast that i still think fit pretty well

teehee... a lot of my music taste hcs are either me projecting or for funnies but i feel like most of them fit pretty well...

anyway here they are in alphabetical order (under a cut bc this will be a long ass post otherwise):

Akane - she like the kind of dubstep and edm that was popular in the early 2010s. skrillex and similar. bangarang in particular gives me akane vibes

Chiaki - in true Gamer fashion, Chiaki likes a lot of game soundtracks, but in addition to that, she likes hyperpop, a plethora of vocaloid artists, and crystal castles

Fuyuhiko - he's very secretive about his music tastes but only because he doesn't want anyone to know he likes the music he does. i haven't decided if he likes disco or ska (or both), but it's one of those two for sure. I think at this point i'm leaning more towards ska...

Gundham - Gundham likes the wizard-esque doom metal. The stuff about necromancers and shit. Slow tempo music is usually his go-to. He also likes some new romantic bands like the cure and others, and listens to type o negative as well. Another band that appears often in his mixes is muse.

Hajime - despite his 'everyman' appearance he likes 'weird' music. He enjoys breakcore and bands that defy genre. At the top of his list is Machine Girl, this song (and album) in particular reminding me of him. He also listens to a lot of death grips.

Hiyoko - she doesn't listen to a lot of music outside of practicing for her dance routines, but when she does it's the most disgusting (complimentary) death metal you've ever heard.

Ibuki - NU METAL. and some other metal of course. Korn, Disturbed, Kittie, Slipknot.... she also likes three days grace and mcr. and death metal as well and she actively seeks out death metal bands with women vocalists.

Imposter - as Byakuya, he says he listens to classical music to sound refined and stuff, but in reality they love bubblegum pop and boy bands

Izuru - he's the only person on earth who says they listen to 'all genres' and actually does. It's a new genre every week with Izuru. His favs are usually the genre mash-ups, and also music that just plain sounds bad <3

Kazuichi - pop punk. a tiny bit of grunge in the mix too. green day

Mahiru - Spice Girls and 80s pop bands with women vocalists.

Mikan - Lana Del Rey and similar 'indie' women singers that were popular mid 2010s

Nagito - he says he 'doesn't listen to music', but then if you push it he'll say he listens to a bit of emo stuff and some pop punk. blink 182 and similar. but THEN he'll say he was lying and actually only listens to news podcasts. in reality it's just the pop punk.

Nekomaru - dad rock. AC/DC :^)

Peko - babymetal, nine inch nails, a perfect circle, and a lot of things in-between

Sonia - true to her name and country of origin, she listens to nirvana, but they AREN'T her fav grunge band. Her fav grunge band is Alice in Chains. She also dips into nu metal every once in a while, particularly deftones.

yknow you've got a really good point there. I think i kept bouncing off of the intro to case 2? because once i got into it I agree it's pretty damn good. my brain just did Not want me to get to that point for some reason. peko and fuyuhiko are just... ah i'll cry. they really did that.

and yeah nagito is very interesting. i'd always seen a lot of discourse over his character and figured i wouldn't like him much but once i finally got into the game it was like. Woah. what a unique character.

GOD I LOVE PEKO AND FUYUHIKO and yeah i thinkkkkkkk the intro to that case was a bit boring? i say this because i dont remember much about it besides hajime rickrolling kazuichi. and i guess theres a sweet mahiru and hiyoko scene? but the fuyuhiko and peko stuff was so fucking tragic. i adore fuyuhikos character arc hes so amazing

and YEAH i genuinely dont get why people dont like nagito???? a lot of it feels like hating him because hes popular. hell even i pretended i hated nagito (and also komahina) for a little bit just because he was popular. but hes???????? so interesting?????????? hes the embodiment of a guy i want to dissect to figure out exactly whats wrong with him. i think its easy to hate him if you dont do his ftes and have no idea whats going on with him. like without them hes far less interesting because he just seems insane about hope, and then a condescending and malicious asshole later on. but with the context of his ftes hes way more interesting. his ideology and mentality are so well thought out, and the narrative of hajime hating him but still feeling the draw of trying to figure him out, so he keeps coming back despite it all? its so good okay. i am NOT ashamed to say i love nagito

Danganronpa High School AU hcs pt.1 : Clubs

Student Council

At Hopes Peak high school there are school elections every year. They are a really big deal and so of course Junko and Byakuya run.

The School president is the one and only Byakuya Togami. No one ever had the balls to run against him anyway. Despite how much of an asshole he is he gets things done. He isn’t most definitely isn’t the speaker type but he sure as hell is a leader

Taka is the schools Vice President. The perfect roll for him to oversee the student body and continue to enforce school rules. Yes he’s the kid that will give you a detention if you run in the halls. The teachers trust him enough to fairly distribute detention slips.

Kirumi is the Student councils secretary. She is what holds the whole group together. She works hard in the background to keep the student council efficient and helpful. Without her it would be a total mess.

Sonia would be the PR and Event director. She runs the events, the social media, any sort of activity or thing happening school wide. She organizes the schools events.

Student Body representative goes to Junko. A definitely not made up position with lots of real responsibilities. She basically just acts as a second more outgoing president. Her and Byakuya do fight on things quite often but with the two of them in charge it is absolutely a perfect combination. THEY GET SHIT DONE.

School Band

This one seems pretty self explanatory. It consists of Ibuki, Leon, sayaka, and Kaede. They are incredibly musically talented. The preform every Friday at lunch. Since all 4 of them have very different music tastes and preferred genre’s, it’s always super creative when it come to their performances. (I myself am a music nerd)

Drama Club

Ah yes, the infamous drama club. We all know about theatre kids (I mean I was one). But the drama club doesn’t have to just consist of theater nerds. It’s a place to preform, and for theater nerds. Gundham and himiko are definitely ALMOST always the leads. Wether or not they are good at it is up for debate. But then there’s hiyoko. An experienced and talented performer, I imagine she’s like the sharpe of the school. Popular and beautiful but also great at preforming.

Anime/Gaming Club

The anime club. The anime club also doubles as the gaming club. This club consists of throughly passionate president hifumi. Tsmugi is the event coordinator and Chihiro runs the website and social medias, all the tech stuff. And video game icon Chiaki of course is in charge of all video game events. She’s the president of the video games sub group.

Art Club

The art club isn’t just for traditional art like painting and drawing, though they do include them. The art club is open for any and all art forms. The president of the art club is the one and only Angie. Mahiru is the Vice President. Toko I think would be a little to nervous to run on the board but she is certainly a star in the club. Some of her works get published in literary magazines. It’s just a good place for creative minds to connect.

Sports Teams

Sports teams aren’t really clubs but they’re an extracurricular activity so it still sorta counts.

Akane- gymnastics team

Aoi- swim team

Maki - track team

Mondo - football team

Mukuro- track team

Sakura- martial arts team

Nekomaru- baseball team manager and football team player

Tenko- martial arts team

Peko- martial arts team

Ryoma - tennis team

History Club

Ah yes Who better to be the president of the history club than the concerning-ly passionate Korekiyo. Celeste and Rantaro are just there for the vibes. It’s clear to see how much time and effort Korekiyo puts into each weeks meetings.

Science Club

The science club like the art club, covers a wide range. From chemical, to technical and robotics. The science club has you covered. President kaito always makes sure everyone is on task. Miu is the Vice President but we can all imagine how helpful she must be. Kazuichi and gonta are more outspoken club members while kyoko sits and silently works on her projects.

Business Club

The business club was founded and is run by Fuyuhiko. Peko joined so that he’d have some sort of member. It’s mostly him practicing the skills he learns in his business classes. It’s basically whatever Fuyuhiko wants it to be.

Study Club

The study club is what I’m deeming the I don’t know where else to put you club. So Hajime, kiibo, makoto, mikan, shuichi are some of the members.

“Book” Club

This club is just a front. Since clubs are needed to graduate, the kids who don’t wanna do anything else and general trouble makers stay in the club. The regulations of these clubs are very loose and so the club could be whatever the hell they want. No rules here. So it is the perfect club for kokichi and nagito. Since there’s no cooking club teruteru joined this club. And yasuhiro TOTALLY doesn’t bring weed to the monthly meetings.

Now I’m going to be honest here: I don’t really have any LGBT headcanons. It’s just not really something I focus on much when it comes to fandoms. Instead I usually just focus on ships, and as a result from that I tend to present a lot of characters as LGBT in fanfictions and posts I’ve made or reblogged. In other words, a massive chunk of my “headcanons” here are a direct result of shipping (as well as information I’ve picked up from the games themselves). That being said, it was interesting to actually think about this for once, so I’m kinda glad I did the tier list. And it gave me an excuse to bring back the rainbow color scheme I usually put in my tier lists for aesthetic reasons.

The original tier list had Straight at the top, but I moved it to the bottom for two reasons. One, this is Tumblr and that’s not what you’re here for. Two, I gave it a neutral color, and having a gray section next to a white section (i.e. the title of the list) like that looked bad to me. I definitely prefer this setup just on aesthetic alone.

Because this is largely based on ships, I feel it needs to be said that representation does not factor into this chart in any way. I know it probably looks bad that the only character in the Lesbian category is one of my least favorite (though NOT hated or even disliked, I should point out) characters in the main series. That has nothing to do with the fact that she’s a lesbian. She’s just a jerk, and usually not in a way that’s at least entertaining enough for me to like her.

Also keep in mind that this is just the main cast of the main series games. If you were to include characters from the DR3 anime, UDG, or the spin-offs, the Gay, Lesbian, and Ace categories would get more rep, certainly. Think Juzo, Yui, Takemichi, that gay guy with the trumpet, etc.

With that said, let’s go through the list:

Gay

Not gonna lie, one of the reasons why Rantaro is here (and not in Ace) is because of ships. Though I do sometimes ship him with girls, canon suggests he’s not interested in dating girls, and most fans seem to headcanon him as either gay or ace because of this, so I respected that. That being said, I also acknowledge he’s a very popular character in mlm ships, and at the time I was putting this together I hadn’t gotten to Taka yet so the Gay tier was still empty, and Byakuya was already sitting in Ace, so all of that swayed me to putting Rantaro here instead of Ace.

Taka was much easier to place here. He strikes me as a closeted gay man who probably doesn’t even realize he is gay. “Hey, let’s all hang out in the bath, guys! Getting naked is essential to form bonds with your fellow man! No need to be ashamed, it’s tradition!"

Lesbian

Again, ships. I only ship Hiyoko with one other character, and as soon as I say that you already know who she is.

Bisexual (Male Preference)

Akane is mostly here to account for any wlw ships I may have of her (e.g. Hina, Sonia maybe). Obviously she has a thing with Nekomaru, so Male Preference.

Chiaki is here for the same reason as Akane. I’ve shipped her with characters like Sonia and Ibuki before, but she really digs Hajime.

Chihiro honestly could have been anywhere in the Bi and Pan sections, but I ultimately went with Male Preference because of ships, specifically the fact that outside of the more... R18 circles of the Interwebs Chihiro tends to be shipped with guys more often than girls. Also doesn’t hurt that my OTP is Naehiro. I mean, have you seen how often Chihiro blushes around Makoto? (There’s more to it than that, as I’ve covered in the past. I’m just trying to add more fuel to the fire.)

Himiko is probably one of the few characters that isn’t here mainly because of ships. I do think she has some attachment towards Tenko, but I also get “I’m uncomfortable around her” vibes from her, and there are moments where she seems to crush on Kokichi (of all people) so that’s why she’s here. Still very much bi, though.

Hina has a crush on Makoto and has a complex around wishing she was more feminine so she can attract boys. So why isn’t she in the Straight section? ...Because Sakura, duh. And Kyoko too. And any other wlw ship you can think of that might work with Hina.

Honestly if it wasn’t for Miu I probably would have considered putting Kokichi in Gay. Again, while shipping plays a big part of my choices here, much like with Rantaro I have no qualms with putting a character in a tier that contradicts any ships I might have with that character, if those ships aren’t something I’m super invested in. This is a very important distinction, because it’s why I let ships sway my hand for so many of these even if I am also okay with going “Just because I ship this doesn’t mean I headcanon it” as I did with Rantaro. And honestly Kokichi’s ship teasing with Himiko does come off as more trollish than a sign that he’s into her, but he really gets into his back-and-forth with Miu, in my personal opinion, and he gets into it far more often with her for that matter. It’s why it’s one of my favorite ships for both of them tbh, and it’s because I like the ship so much that I just can’t ignore it for this sexuality headcanon tier list.

Maki... is here because of ships (e.g. Kaede).

Sakura... is here because of ships (e.g. Hina). ...What, you were expecting me to put a guy in the example? Remember, she has a boyfriend in canon.

Sayaka... is here because of... NOT ships, but DRAT. Yes, really. (”We really got down and dirty, Naegi-kun.”)

Sonia... strikes me as someone who swings both ways. I can’t describe exactly why I feel that way, but yes.

Bisexual (No Preference)

Celeste wants a harem of vampire boys but shipping her with Kyoko is also very popular and honestly i feel like it would fit her character. She’s got a look that says “I could get any ass I want and I know it.”

Ibuki is decked out in blues and pinks, and also I ship her fairly evenly among both boys and girls. She just screams bi icon to me, more so than any other character in the series.

Junko is either bi with no preferences or pan. She is an equal opportunity heart-and-soul-breaker and lust-for-despair machine.

There is no Mukuro in this list, but honestly I would probably put her where I put Junko anyway.

Kaede... is here because of ships (e.g. Miu, Maki)

Honestly I had no idea where to put Kirumi, so I just randomly chose one that I wouldn’t regret later if I ever put more thought into who I shipped her with.

I’m pretty sure Nagito being bisexual has some degree of canon attached to it??? I think??? I’m not entirely sure tbh, but fuck it. I’m doing this for fun anyway, so this doesn’t really matter.

Shuichi, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. I also find him to be more shippable with guys than the other two protags, so IMO he has no preference.

Toko might have a thing or two for pretty boys, but... Komaru, I mean, this isn’t exactly shocking, I don’t think. Probably was closeted before she met Komaru. I mean she did focus on Hina’s boobs a lot in DR1, let’s not forget.

Tsumugi, much like Kirumi, is here because I haven’t put much thought into her ships.

Bisexual (Female Preference)

Gundham has a thing with Sonia in canon, but I can see him being bi. So... yeah, ships again.

Hajime, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. It’s just that his Chiaki and Mikan game is just too strong.

Hifumi might claim to only like 2D, but his interest in Chihiro both in human form and computer program form (and the fact that this didn’t go away after the gender reveal) places him here.

Kaito strikes me as a closeted bisexual. The kind that could start any given conversation with “I’m not gay, but...”

Kazuichi also strikes me as a closeted bisexual, only his “I’m not gay, but...” is rooted more in dumbass than it is in systematic homophobia.

Korekiyo... is here because of ships (e.g. Rantaro).

Kyoko is bi as fuck, and I can see her having a preference towards girls in particular. She gets shipped with girls a lot (e.g. Celeste, Hina, Yui, and even Junko and Mukuro), and when she is shipped with boys it’s usually just pretty boys (e.g. Makoto, Byakuya, Ryota, Shuichi, and, depending on your interpretation, Chihiro). Also note that aside from Makoto and maybe Byakuya, Kyoko’s girl ships are far more popular than her boy ships. Just something I’ve noticed over the years.

Leon... is here because of ships (e.g. Chihiro).

Mahiru is here because I’m pretty sure she has a thing for Hajime in her FTEs, but obviously she tends to get shipped with girls more often (especially Hiyoko), and I agree.

Makoto, like all Danganronpa protags, is bi as fuck. It’s just that his Kyoko, Hina, Sayaka, and Mukuro game is just too strong.

Mikan may be interested in Hajime somewhat, but her obsession with Junko cannot be ignored, no matter how much some of you may want to.

Mondo is another character that strikes me as a closeted bisexual. He is said to strike out all the time with girls, so I do think he’s attracted to women. And I do get some vibes that he’s attracted to Chihiro pre-reveal. And if circumstances had been different, I imagine he probably still would have been post-reveal. But obviously it’s his bond with Taka that I feel cements his sexuality in, at the very least, an mlm category.

Tenko... is here NOT because of ships, but because I’m pretty sure she’s at least sort of interested in Shuichi because of some canon thing... and also I don’t want to put her in Lesbian just because it feels like I’d be stereotyping the Lesbian category if I do that. If we were to compare her to the character that I did put in Lesbian, Hiyoko doesn’t treat people like shit because they’re men, she’s an equal-opportunity asshole. Still not the best representation for lesbians by a long shot, but at least Hiyoko doesn’t follow the stereotype of a man-hating lesbian. She’s just like that, and that’s okay. But putting Tenko there, especially if she’s shown some degree of interest in a male character at some point in the game, just rubs me the wrong way personally, because it would feel like I’m ignoring canon just to stereotype her. But that’s just a personal hang up of mine. No disrespect intended toward anyone who genuinely feels that Tenko is a lesbian. Maybe you see something there that I don’t, and that’s perfectly fine.

Pansexual

I don’t remember exactly how her FTEs went, so I’m not going to get into that, but Angie just comes off as pan to me, like gender doesn’t fit into the equation at all for her.

Gonta I can see as either pan or ace. I feel like he wouldn’t care about gender, and honestly the only reason I decided to put him in Pan rather than Ace is because of that scene with Miu.

Imposter is not only pan, they are currently OT3ing it up with Ibuki and Ryota as we speak, and that’s a fact.

Keebo... is mostly here because of ships. A lot of ships, actually. Mostly male ships (Kokichi, Shuichi, Kazuichi, and, depending on your interpretation, Chihiro) but there’s also Miu to consider. And the Miu game is SO strong that I put him in Pan instead of, say, Male Preference.

Just gonna lump them together because I have the same thing to say about both of them: Miu and Teruteru would **** anything that walks. What did I censor? Well, I’m doing the Nier: Automata thing, so you can put whatever you want in there and trust me, it would probably fit, for better or for worse.

Ace

I know this is an unpopular opinion, because Naegami, but I just don’t think Byakuya is interested in anyone, at least not in that way. He might be fascinated with how common people live, because it’s so foreign to him, but that’s about it.

Straight

Even though I do ship Fuyuhiko with some of the boys, his Peko game is so strong that honestly I can’t see him actually dating anyone aside from Peko outside of some very niche fanfiction.

Honestly, Hiro was another one that I was just like “I have no idea what to do with you.” I think maybe his team up with Kanon made me eventually choose to put him in Straight? I don’t remember. I clearly didn’t put much thought into Hiro.

I really only ship Nekomaru with Akane, so that’s why he’s here. I’m sure if I dive deep enough into my psyche I can pull an mlm ship with Nekomaru in it out of my ass, but like Rantaro that wouldn’t be significant enough to change anything.

Peko is in the same boat as Fuyuhiko. I have shipped her with girls before, but her Fuyuhiko game is just too strong.

Ryoma had a girlfriend once, and as far as I can remember he didn’t really seem interested in anybody in the game, so that’s all I have to go off of for him.

So there you have it. Explanations for literally all of them! Explanations that were definitely not pulled out of my ass as I was typing them, nope, certainly not. Definitely won’t be tagging all of them, but I may tag the ones with the longest entries. And like all the tier lists I’ve done, this was just for fun and honestly any opinion I have for any of these characters could change at a moment’s notice because my brain is fickle like that. Tried my best to make sure that every tier had at least one character in it, but I did so without trying to force characters in places that I personally did not believe they should go. I hope you all enjoyed my dive into this area of fandom that I rarely dive into (the LGBT headcanons, not the ships, obviously). It was a lot of fun, and hopefully it will stay fun and not result in angry anons blasting me for my opinions. I am grateful that this never seems to happen to me, but I’ve seen it happen to others and I know what Tumblr is capable of at its worst. These are just headcanons and a matter of personal opinion, and if you disagree with them, that’s perfectly okay. Your feelings and opinions are also valid.

Dumb post because Danganronpa is taking over my life - Circle

How the THH and SDR2 characters would manage babysitting (excluding Junko because nobody would trust her with kids)

THH:

Makoto Naegi - trustworthy and reliable, but kind of a pushover. The kids tease him

Kyoko Kirigiri - low-key terrifying even though she never shouts. The kids do what she says. Sometimes Makoto calls her if he needs help controlling the kids: “If you don’t behave, I’m gonna tell Kyoko!”

Leon Kuwata - chill enough for the kids to like him but the pre-teens think he’s a dork. Popular with the small children.

Sayaka Maizono - very popular with kids. Big sister energy. Does makeovers and fake pop concerts with the kids. They’re never in bed on time but they had fun.

Chihiro Fujisaki - good with babies and toddlers, gets pretty nervous around the older kids. Gets teased quite a lot. Good at including the introverts though.

Mondo Owada - super laidback, he doesn’t give a shit if the kids want to eat Skittles for dinner or watch horror movies past their bedtime. Hell yeah, that sounds a great idea, he’s gonna be joining them.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru - a favourite with parents for obvious reasons. Total hardass. You ain’t breaking the rules with him. Gets teased but the kids still obey him.

Hifumi Yamada - pretty popular with kids for his art, will draw for them and get them to draw to keep them occupied. Will make them go to bed as soon as possible so he can have some peace and quiet.

Aoi Asahina - forgets the rules parents give her as soon as they leave the house. Tries to give the kids healthy food but gives them a LOT of donuts too. Bedtimes don’t exist with her. You go to sleep where you dropped from exhaustion.

Byakuya Togami - literally just pays somebody else to do it for him

Sakura Ogami - Queen, parents and kids love her. Gives the best hugs and the best advice.

Celestia Ludenburg - will ignore your children if you have any cats. Bribes children to get them to behave. Obviously hates kids.

Mukuro Ikusaba - regimented, she has a schedule and you keep to it. Usually makes bedtime as early as possible to get the kids out of the way.

Yasuhiro Hagakure - tries his very best but will probably lose one of your kids at some point.

Toko Fukawa - calls all kids brats. Tells them to their faces she hates kids. Will just say no thanks if you try to hire her for babysitting.

SDR2:

Akane Owari - hype. Will raid your fridge and your kids will not be asleep when they’re supposed to be, but they’d have a great time.

Chiaki Nanami - very chill. Plays video games with the kids. Makes great hot chocolate. Bad with bedtimes but still popular with parents.

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu - gets teased about his height. Teaches kids new curse words by accident. Makes the kids go to bed while it’s still light out because he’s this close to losing his shit.

Gundham Tanaka - popular with the kids cause of the Dark Devas. Will probably teach the children some great vocabulary but might also teach them about the occult. Tells the best bedtime stories.

Hajime Hinata - raids your booze stash and lets the kids get on with it. Usually isn’t hired twice.

Hiyoko Saionji - gets into fights with the kids. Needs a babysitter of her own honestly.

Ibuki Mioda - kids LOVE her. Bedtimes? What the fuck are those things? May get police called to your house with a noise complaint but your kids will be having fun.

Kazuichi Souda - kids bully him. Can’t keep control. Will cry in your kitchen while your kids run riot.

Mahiru Koizumi - popular with parents. Has a proper schedule. Will make a fuss of your kids, reading them stories and giving them treats.

Mikan Tsumiki - gets bullied too. Can win kids over eventually with her abundance of cool, colourful bandaids. Parents like her because she’s ready for any medical emergencies.

Nagito Komaeda - prefers the naughty kids. Very passive aggressive to parents he doesn’t like. Breaks bedtime and meal rules on purpose.

Nekomaru Nidai - HYPE as fuck. Your kids will have the time of their lives but they will not be going to sleep on time. Cheers on your kids enthusiastically when they play games - even board games.

Peko Pekoyama - quiet and serious, kids seem to respect her and do as she says even though she never shouts. Will offer her services over and over if you have any friendly pets she can stroke.

Sonia Nevermind - popular with kids and parents. Big sister vibes again. Wants to do all the sleepover stuff she never got to as a kid, painting nails and watching movies with popcorn. Terrifies everybody when they tell scary stories.

Teruteru Hanamura - also gets bullied for his height. Is tolerated because he cooks good food.

Twogami - mum friend. The only one who should actually be looking after kids. Wants to adopt everybody. Very popular with parents and children.

I rate the DR 10th anniversary outfits because

Sooo someone posted scans of the thing and I am here to rate those disasters. Here we fucking go.

Makoto: 7/10 Simple and effective, but nothing special.

Taka: 7.5/10 A bit more classy than Makoto but still simple with not much originality.

Byakuya: 6/10 Out of all the characters who could have worn a jacket incorrectly, they choose McRich for the job. I hate it. But outfit is fine I guess.

Mondo: 10/10 So ridiculous and in character. Love it.

Leon: 5/10 What are you, scottish? The shoes ruin everything for me they’re so ugly smh. I know I can’t draw shoes either but what are those

Hifumi: 0/10 Look Hifumi, I know your character gets too much hate but I gotta say: Ew.

Hiro: 6.5/10 I like the outfit. But my guy, that color is piss. If you had just changed the color I would have added 2 points.

Sayaka: 7/10 Like Makoto, it’s nice but that’s it.

Kyoko: 9/10 Damn, she look classy as hell. I don’t like that much whatever is going on with the sleeves but the rest looks stunning.

Hina: 10/10 My girl looks SPLENDID in yellow. And the flowers are great too, I just love her. Plus that smile <3

Toko: 8/10 It’s nice, I like the bun(s?) and the dress looks good. The flower in her hair is a nice touch and the colors fit her.

Sakura: 9/10 My girl looks great in buns (+ flower). I like the kimono a lot but the colors used irks me just a tiny bit. Still love her, though.

Celeste: 8.5/10 I wish that veil was a bit more transparent so I could see her dress in it’s entirety. Either way, she looks stunning and that hairpiece is just in character.

Junko: 9/10 The dress looks fantastic, the mask is a nice touch but I feel like she would have been perfect with loose hair.

Chihiro: 7/10 Say what you want about the onceler, I like that outfit. Very cute but the socks(?) give me the same vibe as Miu’s bondage gear and mmmm don’t like that

Hajime: 7.5/10 See Makoto above but a little 0.5+ for that flower.

Nagito: 8.5/10 I’m a sucker for boys with tied hair, as you may already know. White looks nice on him, and the outfit is nice.

Twogami: 4/10 You just took Hifumi’s ugly outfit and put a fur coat on it. It doesn’t look that bad since it’s at least less flashy, but I just don’t vibe.

Gundham: 6/10 The outfit is okay I guess but are you telling me that this guy wouldn’t choose something 100 times more extra? He looks so plain. Give him the crazy outfit he deserves.

Kazuichi: 6/10 You fucking disaster. You just took your jumpsuit and made it fancy. This is so damn ridiculous, but I can still see some appeal in it but like, you’re a disaster man. Also nice glasses bro

Teruteru: 10/10 I love it. The vibe it has,,, I love this. The colors, the simpleness yet effectiveness, it’s just perfect.

Nekomaru: 6.5/10 It’s fine, I guess. It does fit him, but I don’t see that much stuff that could be considered out of the ordinary in a good way.

Fuyuhiko: 7.5/10 Palette color is good but like. The outfit is peak bisexual. I don’t even hc him as bisexual.

Akane: 10/10 THAT’S MY GIRL. She is more of a queen than Sonia will ever be, I’m sorry. She is rocking with that cape. And the outfit is great.

Chiaki: 7/10 It’s cute and effective, it fits her. I don’t like her hair that much for some reason, but overall she looks neat.

Sonia: 6/10 What do you mean this isn’t a miss universe contest? I can’t vibe, I’m sorry. It looks nice, but it feels more like a popular girl’s dress than who Sonia really is.

Hiyoko: 7.5/10 It looks better than her in-game outfit, at least. The colors suit her, I like it.

Mahiru: 7/10 I have mixed feelings. I love the dress, but the headband is a huge no from me. Little plus for the flower, though.

Mikan: 1/10 Who thought this was a good outfit? Genuinely curious.

Ibuki: 9/10 This is so damn extra, I love it. So many ribbons for nothing, it almost gives a Touhou vibe. But the outfit itself? Horrendous color palette, but it fits because it’s Ibuki.

Peko: 9/10 Opposite of Ibuki on the same spectrum. It’s calm, classy anyway, and fits Peko. I don’t have anything to say, it’s just really good. Nice flower btw

Rantaro: 7/10 Outfit is fancy af, but you would have a better grade if it wasn’t for that damn fedora.

Kokichi: 7/10 Who the fuck wears purple socks with white shoes? Also as I said before, he looks like the type of person who gets drunk before coming to the party. Outfit’s good, but once you get to the details it’s a disaster.

Keebo: 4/10 I do not vibe. I don’t know what I’m looking at. Is this another armor? Is this an outfit on the armor? I don’t know. Scarf looks a bit out of place. Also Keebo, wearing your jacket like Hiro doesn’t suit you I’m sorry.

Gonta: 4/10 I do. do not vibe. Too many squares? Too green? idk what bothers me the most. Also he gave me a heart attack the first time I saw him bc I thought he had cut his hair.

Shuichi: 6.5/10 After those two disasters I am glad to see someone at least decent. The color palette doesn’t suit him that much, but I can respect it.

Kiyo: 10/10 The guy is so classy it hurts. I don’t even know if that’s a skirt or pants but either way I love it. This outfit just suits him 100%.

Ryoma: 3/10 What the fuck is this. What. What is this. This hat reaches Touhou levels of ridiculousness. It’s horrible. The outfit is kinda better than whatever some of them have going on but holy shit the hat ruins everything for me.

Kaito: 9/10 The coat is fantastic. Black with tiny moons and stars + a space interior? That’s beyond perfect. Outfit is nice, although I would have liked a different color for the vest and the pants.

Kaede: 8/10 It’s simple and effective. I really like the flowers but still, I can’t get used to Kaede’s haircut. At this this one has cute flowers and ribbons.

Miu: 8.5/10 Now you would think that with what Mikan got, Miu would get something super revealing, but this is surprisingly not the case. It’s very original and it suits her a lot, especially the huge sleeves.

Tsumugi: 7/10 The dress is nice, but that’s pretty much it. I like how she tied her hair, it does look nice. Also those shoes are weird tbh

Tenko: 9/10 I was wrong. This is, in fact, a mini-short. She looks so classy and I love the new placement of the hairpin. She looks a lot like a talentswap Magician!Tenko and I love it. So classy. Very good.

Kirumi: 10/10 That’s peak fancy. I just. I love. her. She’s so fucking great like the elegance, the classiness, everything is perfect. I believe in Kirumi supremacy.

Maki: 3/10 I’m sorry I hate this dress. It had good potentiel but the color palette irks me. No. I can’t. Hair looks nice tho.

Himiko: 8/10 It’s just so damn cute. Idk if the space theme is a reference to her beta design but either way, I love it.

Angie: 8/10 A different kind of fancy. I like the large pants, it does fit her vibe. Also that veil is cool af.

Expect a harsh scolding from Mahiru if you even look at them weirdly.

Celestia

Admires her s/o’s appearance a lot, finding beauty in what other people may consider to be “creepy”.

Definitely spoils them with dark clothing that matches her gothic aesthetic.

She (or her servants) polish their glass skin daily, even if they reassure her they can handle it.

But they don’t mind being pampered.

Like Celeste, she spoils them with clothing/jewelry and ensures their brittle skin is cleaned constantly.

She’s seen a few horror movies about possessed/haunted dolls (and she actually feels sympathy for them).

But her s/o is far from those. They don’t scare her.

To her, they’re amazing and flawless in every way imaginable.

Miu

“Soooo if you’re made of porcelain does that mean you also got some porcelain [EXPLETIVE], too?”

That question gets her a light punch in the arm--which cracks her s/o’s knuckles in the process.

She panics and is quick to patch them up.

Started making metal plates or some kind of armor to protect their brittle body, not wanting any repeats of what happened.

It’s her way of showing she still feels bad-

Kinda bummed out she can’t wrestle around with her s/o a lot.

But you can bet she’ll be a grade-A bodyguard.

She’s a fierce protector and will deck anyone who lays a hand on them without permission.

If her s/o can eat, she’ll be sure to share some food with them.

Her logic is: “they’re a living doll, sooooo food must be necessary for the “living” part, right?”

Gundham

Wonders what curse was inflicted on his dear beloved.

But he then he goes “ah..your temporary mortal prison has withered away, and you have been reincarnated into this delicate glass creature.”

Calls them his King/Queen/Ruler of Glass.

Is very careful around them--even his Dark Devas take care not to scratch their skin with their claws.

Will fix any cracks in their skin with bandages.

Heaven forbid anyone dared to hurt them..they’ll surely face the wrath of his minions.

Taka

He’s so very careful with them..like even he’s afraid to touch them sometimes.

If he sees even a tiny crack in their skin, he'll blame himself--though his s/o reassures him that they trust him. They know he’d never hurt them.

Studies what he can about porcelain dolls, and the images he finds creep him out.

But he doesn’t find his s/o creepy whatsoever; he loves them and will do his best to keep them safe.

Byakuya

Banking and stock market apps. These are his favourites. This is not a joke. Doesn’t have a single game on his phone.

Chiaki

Games, of course, but they’re not simple games or even necessarily popular games, they’re much harder than what most people play. She has high scores on all of them.

Kazuichi

Somehow still has Flappy Bird still installed. Does not use it.

Too many dating apps that he has yet to get a single date from.

He’s also made a few accessories for his phone, including a charging phone case that actually works and gives him triple the charge. This does not stop him from smashing the screen way too often.

Gundham

Has that game where you collect cats. Plays it unironically. Loves it. It would be better if it was hamsters, though.

Has photo editing apps so he can edit pictures of the four devas into demons. They always end up being just as cute as they really are no matter how hard he tries.

Celeste

Doesn’t necessarily like gambling apps but has a lot of them so she can continue honing her skill, not that she needs to, but mostly so she can win and continue accumulating her wealth.

Teruteru

Has a lot of cooking apps and browses a lot of recipe forums, but never posts to them. He wants to read others work and either judge them or get ideas for himself, but he’d never want to give away recipes he’s made up himself just in case someone steals them and pretends they’re theirs.

Shuichi

Has a lot of news apps, national ones and ones for areas he’s working in locally for cases. He wants to get all the information he can, including what’s on the news.

Kiyotaka

Uses the calendar and reminders apps the most. He keeps his schedule very detailed, but always knows exactly where he needs to be and exactly when he needs to be there anyway. Having everything written down is just a backup for where he usually stores that information, his brain.

Akane

Has apps for all of the fast food outlets and restaurants. She wants to get all the deals on her food and apps are the best places to find them.

She also breaks her phone a lot. It could have something to do with all the fighting with Nekomaru.

Kaito

Has all of the space and stargazing apps. All of them. He has reminders set for everything space related that he wants to see, and he wants to see a lot of them.

Rantaro

Maps. His most frequently used app is maps.

Mahiru

She browses a lot of photography forums where people can post their photos and tips and tricks they like to use. She doesn’t like photo editing apps, so she doesn’t have any of those.

Miu

Likes to make her own apps and upgrades to her phone. She likes to use apps that can control her inventions, especially those of the ns//fw variety.

*spoilers for heathers the musical and danganronpa 2 goodbye despair*

*tw for mentions of death and suicide*

Okay so I know it's been a minute since I've posted anything substantial so here's this:

I've got an heather's au for dr 2 that id like to share. Its not a completely fleshed out one but I have a good idea of most of the main characters in the story. So the easy choice would just be to make hajime, veronica, and make nagito, JD. Especially nagito for jd with the whole, well, bomb thing as well as them both being mentally unstable and having rough childhoods. Hajime fits the role of veronica because, like veronica, he wants to fit in and not be ostracized constantly. More specifically though, it would help him become confident, which is literally his whole arc in the second game. The heathers and the rest could then be determined by a lot of different characters and so on and so forth. I respect this interpretation and it does make a lot of sense, however, I would like to propose my own interpretation.

Let's start with the two main characters, veronica and jd. So for my au, I have decided that fuyuhiko will be veronica and peko will be jd. Let's start with my choice for jd. So, after my binge of the second game's playthrough, I remember that one night I was listening to heathers, specifically the song, our love is god. And as I listened I realized how similar peko and jd actually are. Now to preface, I'm not saying jd and peko are the same character, jd attempted to bomb an entire school and peko simply made the calculated decision to kill in order for fuyuhiko's safety to be assured.

What i am saying though, is that jd and peko's thought processes are very similar, and if peko was just a tad more unhinged, they would be hard to distinguish. How are they similar? Well, first you have the whole, "I worship you" mentality. Now, peko doesn't necessarily kiss the earth that fuyuhiko walks upon but this could be connected more to their actual relationship. That of a master and his servant. I servant must serve, much like a believer would to a god.

And right after that line jd says, "Id give my life for yours." Which peko literally does in the canon story, she gives her life in order to save fuyuhiko, and even protects him with her body in her own execution. Secondly, they both are delinquents, or socially awkward. They are both standoffish and seen as intimidating by others, and they both don't exactly know how to communicate well. Thirdly, they have somewhat similar backgrounds. Jd lost his mother, and peko is an orphan, they both know what its like to not live with parents, or at least not favorable parents. For example, peko had to constantly interfere with mr. and mrs. kuzuryu fighting to insure fuyuhiko's safety. And jd and his father have a tenuous relationship, with jd's father mostly being a near non-present force in his life. Additionally, im sure the leaders of a yakuza clan weren't exactly doting parents.

And lastly, their mutual feelings of self worth, or more so, the lack of it. Both jd and peko believe their lives to be meaningless without the existence of their veronicas. The only good things in their lives are their veronicas, and they would do anything to hold onto that happiness, even if it resulted in their deaths. But enough about jd and peko, what about fuyuhiko? This may seem like an odd choice and solely made on the prospect that jd is peko, but that isn't exactly the case.

While yes it seems unlikely that fuyuhiko would bother himself with the heathers, or even have a martha, i think it fits more as a visual metaphor of his character growth shown in the game. Its just that in this au, he's a popular dick that learns to be a better person after his gf dies, which is almost what happens in the actual game, minus the popular part. But mostly I'd like to tie in fuyuhiko's role as veronica when it comes to jd. This is where the similarities really start to shine. This is shown mainly in the song, seventeen, where veronica yearns for a normal relationship and to just be normal kids that aren't surrounded by murder. Sound familiar? Well it should, that's literally fuyuhiko's whole speech near the end of chapter 2.

I doubt this needs repeating since this scene is the equivalent of the g note in the dr fandom but for the sake of the argument I will go on. Fuyuhiko in his parting words says this, "You didn't need to be a tool, you just needed to be yourself." And, "I never wanted a tool, I just wanted you....Only you." Which is him saying, "Peko I don't what you to serve me, I don't want this kind of relationship. I just want you to be yourself, and I wanted you for you, not to be a tool for murder." Which could then easily be implied that he doesn't want to murder anyone anymore. This is a near exact mirror of the feelings expressed by veronica in seventeen.

Sure im probably looking into things a bit, but still fuyuhiko's speech near the end of ch. 2 and veronica's feelings in seventeen share a lot of similarities. Both veronica and fuyuhiko simply want to have a normal relationship with their respective partners, but this ultimately fails because their partners worshiped them and this fatal misunderstanding would lead to their deaths. As for the others, I don't have nearly as deep anlaysises of them and I don't have all the characters but I'll briefly discuss my choices for the heathers, kurt, ram, and martha. Also, this is purely in the universe of dr 2, so possible better choices for characters in other games would not be possible in my au.

So heather chandler is the ultimate imposter, this was a pretty obvious choice, while the UI isn't quite as big of a dick as byakuya he's still a jerk, but more importantly, just like in the game, he is a great leader for the heathers and without him the other two descend into chaos. Now this pick is gonna be a strange one but I will explain. I chose mikan to be heather duke. Now I know yall may find that to be an unfitting choice but I personally chose mikan to be heather duke mainly for the shine a light reprise. This is because I chose heather mcnamara to be hiyoko.

Most of the other girls also didn't fit this role, akane would be hard to see as any of heathers and I also think she's far too carefree to urge someone to commit suicide. Ibuki is completely out of the question, and considering how her death looked in the game it would be quite ironic as well. Chiaki also wouldn't make sense for obvious reasons. Mahiru also would obviously not make sense either and she's already a choice for another character anyway. And lastly, sonia wouldn't fit either. I could see her having a secret nasty side but I dont think she would tell someone to commit suicide and she also was always kind to hiyoko even when hiyoko lashed out at others.

And just to cover my bases, I don't think any of the boys would fit either. Maybe kazuichi or nagito but kazuichi is too much of a pussy and nagito would be more likely to say that stuff about himself rather than direct towards anyone else. Heck I could also even consider that after the ultimate imposter dies that's when mikan reverts back to her personality as the ultimate despair, so instead of her reverting because of some disease it would be at the death of her "friend" and the role of leader getting into her head. This would then influence her to tell hiyoko to commit suicide, causing peak despair and blah blah whatever. Hiyoko as heather mcnamara was a pretty easy choice thanks to lifeboat, it also especially fits if you consider hiyoko's backstory. She's the sole daughter of the saionji family, which is a very prestigious family in dr. This along with her talent as a dancer means that she is held to a much higher standard than other kids of her age and that she goes through constant pressure each day due to this standard.

"If I say the wrong thing, or i wear the wrong outfit, they'll throw me right over the side." This is what hiyoko has to deal with on a daily basis from her family as well as her fans. She also could likely be projecting this fear onto the other students. Alright, last three. For kurt and ram, I chose mahiru and sato and if you want my honest opinion it's literally just because peko gets to kill them both in our love is god and that's pretty much canon in the actual game. I say pretty much because, technically fuyuhiko is the one that kills sato but this is an au and that's honestly a pretty minor fix.

Lastly, I haven't thought a lot about martha's role in this au, but if I had to choose it would most likely be kazuichi, he fits as the social outcast and especially as the frequent punching bag for the heathers, especially considering that hiyoko is among their ranks. And that's about it for my dr heather's au! This post definitely went on longer than I intended but I had fun with it and I think you guys deserve a lengthier post since I haven't made as many actual posts besides birthdays in a hot minute. horror/thriller movie recommendations based on your fave Danganronpa 1/2 character

the series in general: Saw (2004, dir. James Wan) - i can’t give much of a reasoning for this as i haven’t seen it but the “punishment fits the victim” trope appears to be a thing in Saw?

Makoto Naegi: It (2017, dir. Andres Muschietti) - as much about the power of friendship as it is about a fear beyond all others. the premise is probably relatively well known by now for the fact that there’s a big clown in it. content warnings: clowns, unsanitary, implied incest and csa.

Sayaka Maizono: Psycho (1960, dir. Alfred Hitchcock) - this suggestion is an incredibly cheap shot, please forgive me. famous film, not sure if i can talk too much about the plotline without giving away the most important part.

Mukuro Ikusaba: Us (2019, dir. Jordan Peele) - doppelgangers show up to wreak havoc on an american family. themes of identity theft. much bloodier than Get Out.

Leon Kuwata: Scream (1996, dir. Wes Craven) - admittedly haven’t seen this either yet. i know, i know, i’m a fake horror fan. but i know that it was made as a sort of tongue-in-cheek homage to the tropeyness of horror films, and i didn’t want to put any movie too blatantly humorous here. i thought this would fit Leon.

Chihiro Fujisaki: A Quiet Place (2018, dir. John Krasinski) - monsters that attack based on noise terrorize a family. most dialogue is delivered through sign language. also has a really touching family dynamic, especially between the father and his children.

Mondo Oowada: Pet Sematary (1989, dir. Mary Lambert) - haven’t seen this one either, whoops. all i know is it’s about, like, bringing people back from the dead or something, and that it’s based on a Stephen King book.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru: The Stand (1994, dir. Mick Garris) - technically a miniseries, but i wasn’t really sure what other horror story fit him. it’s the world at the end in a final battle between good and evil, and nothing says Ultimate Moral Compass more than that to me.

Hifumi Yamada: Strangers on a Train (1951, dir. Alfred Hitchcock) - the whole “i’ll do your murder if you do mine” kinda hits for chapter 3 i think. i also remember his hostage being his sister, so he’d probably like the relationship between Anne and Barbara.

Celes Ludenberg: Crimson Peak (2015, dir. Guillermo del Toro) - there’s a line the main character says that’s something to the effect of how she’d rather be like Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley because she died a widow? that’s Celescore. content warning: incest.

Sakura Oogami: Hereditary (2018, dir. Ari Aster) - both in the way that her dojo is a family business and in the themes of being afraid of hurting your loved ones. content warnings: child death, car accident, decapitation, possession, drug usage.

Toko Fukawa: Rebecca (1940, dir. Alfred Hitchcock) - again haven’t watched or read the book on which it is based but the fact alone that it is based on a book? and it’s not directed by stanley kubrick’s book-ruining ass?

Byakuya Togami: Rope (1948, dir. Alfred Hitchcock) - based on a play which itself was probably based loosely on the Leopold & Loeb case, it’s famous in part for its protagonists being gay. also they have superiority complexes and think that the privileged few should be allowed to murder inferior people because they’re above morality.

Yasuhiro Hagakure: A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984, dir. Wes Craven) - i feel like this is closer to what his brand of horror would be, but also people not really believing that what’s happening is actually happening is kind of his m.o. too. content warning: i don’t remember if this is explicit in the original or not, but Freddy Krueger was a pedophile.

Aoi Asahina: Friday the 13th (1980, dir. Sean S. Cunningham) - again i just think this is closer to what Hina’s brand of horror would be, but also i feel like the summer camp aesthetic would be for her.

Kyouko Kirigiri: The Secret in Their Eyes (2009, dir. Juan Jose Campanella) - i don’t totally remember it but detective going off the rails trying to solve a rape & murder case. Very intense, but very good.

Junko Enoshima: Midsommar (2019, dir. Ari Aster) - gaslighting people into joining a death cult? yeah, that screams junko. content warnings: graphic suicide, drug usage, gaslighting, people on fire, nudity, sex.

Monokuma: Child’s Play (1988, dir. Tom Holland) - creepy toy carrying the soul of a murderer. still need to finish watching this one, other than “creepy doll” i don’t have anything to offer in the way of content warnings.

Hajime Hinata: Get Out (2017, dir. Jordan Peele) - reluctant to go too much into details because i wouldn’t want to spoil the film for those who haven’t seen it, but the experiment done on Hajime vibes w this movie. content warning in that this film is about racism.

Twogami: Vertigo (1958, dir. Alfred Hitchcock) - too many details would give away spoilers but the identity theft theme of the film fits for a guy whose talent is in identity theft.

Teruteru Hanamura: Halloween (1978, dir. John Carpenter) - had a hard time thinking of a horror movie for Teruteru, but Halloween (and 80′s slashers in general) have a tendency to punish the horny.

Mahiru Koizumi: I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997, dir. Jim Gillespie) - would it be too much of a spoiler to say there’s similarities between this film & what gets Mahiru killed in-game?

Peko Pekoyama: The Purge (2013, dir. James DeMonaco) - people using masks to enact what they feel is justified revenge on the one day of the year when all crime is legal.

Hiyoko Saionji: The VVitch (2015, dir. Robert Eggers) - based on colonial-era folk tales about witches. very atmospheric, features the same kind of abusive slut-shaming verbal assaults Hiyoko hurls at others. content warning for briefly implied incest, some nudity, and parents being shitty.

Ibuki Mioda: Green Room (2015, dir. Jeremy Saulnier) - still need to see this one; punk band tries to survive to the end of the night after witnessing neo-nazis commit a murder.

Mikan Tsumiki: Carrie (1976, dir. Brian De Palma) - another film based on a stephen king novella, and also a pretty famous story. a longtime bullying & abuse victim starts to lose her shit after she begins developing telepathy. content warning for some nudity, fire, and an abusive mother.

Nekomaru Nidai: Les Yeux Sans Visage (1960, dir. Georges Franju) - wasn’t really sure where to go with him either, at first, and settled on body horror considering what happens to him later in-game. a doctor attempts to find a new face for his daughter after she is left disfigured from an accident.

Gundham Tanaka: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1921, dir. Robert Wiene) - a mad scientist claims his hypnotized ‘somnambulist’ can see into the future, including the deaths of carnival-goers. highly influential silent film, german expressionist so peak aesthetic.

Nagito Komaeda: The Silence of the Lambs (1991, dir. Jonathan Demme) - it’s probably well enough known for Hannibal the Cannibal being in it, but it’s worth noting he’s not the primary antagonist of the film. he is the most memorable part of it, and his psychoanalysis is what made me think of Komaeda. content warnings for gore, sexual harassment, referenced cannibalism, period-typical transphobia (period is the late 80s/early 90s).

Chiaki Nanami: V/H/S (2012, various directors) - a horror anthology film of found-footage type shorts, not shown in chronological order of events. i don’t really remember the contents enough for warnings, check at your own risk.

Akane Owari: The Blair Witch Project (1999, dirs. Eduardo Sanchez & Daniel Myrick) - don’t really have a good reason for this one other than “they all go feral, which Akane is seconds from doing at any given moment.” i think she’d dig it. no real content warnings to be had, the original found footage film.

Kazuichi Souda: Jaws (1975, dir. Stephen Spielberg) - i’m not even entirely sure i know what would make him like it, maybe just the mechanical shark? i think we all know this as the movie that made people double down on their hatred of sharks. i don’t particularly care for it, but it’s popular.

Sonia Nevermind: Perfume: Story of a Murderer (2006, dir. Tom Tykwer) - follows a would-be perfumer as he murders women in an attempt to create the perfect scent. in retrospect i probably should have picked something based on a real crime, but i still think she’d like this one.

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu: M (1931, dir. Fritz Lang) - when the police fail to catch a serial child murderer, the criminal underworld steps up to take action into their own hands. fitting, no?

Usami: Trick ‘r Treat (2007, dir. Michael Doughtery) - another sort of anthology film that follows what happens to townsfolk when they don’t abide by Halloween traditions. i put it for Usami because i thought it was actually kind of cute, as far as horror films go.
