basically, reader made friends with Ghost while working together on deployment, and became friends, they hang out sometimes bc they live kinda close, blah blah blah. then, Ghost doesn't hear from reader in months (which isn't normal, bc they text like once a month, just to make sure one another is okay when they can). then, one day, in the middle of a meeting Ghost gets a call from an unfamiliar number and almost ignores it until he sees that the area code is the one reader lives in, so he decides to answer it. boom, guess what? the reader is in the hospital, sustained r/srs injuries, and is in need of emergency surgery, and the reader made Ghost the emergency contact (lets also say they traded dog tags bc fluff?)

But since it's very emotionally charged, it took me a little while to finish and I'm sorry bout that, and I rly hope you're still around and eager to read it!!! “Johnny and I make our entrances fast. I clear the way, he goes front, three of you get in by the back and we surround the site to get enough space for the hostages to come out. Any questions?” Ghost asks sternly, as is the usual of his tone especially coming down to work. He was being brutally professional at the moment - if there was rather a sign of an existing Simon, it was gone the moment he got inside the briefing room. Silence follows for the next seconds while the crew seems to be pondering over what he said, analyzing the map over the big round table sticking to the center of the room.

As it is expected, no questions. He nods with his head assuming by the silence that they’re all understood.

“Our orders are to neutralize any individual we find on the site whose face doesn’t match with our hostages, which means we do it fast before they get the chance to call for reinforcements. We don’t wanna make a mess out of this.” Price then continues his own talking, marking X’s over the tactic map and giving the next orders to every one of them. It is when Gaz opens his mouth to say something, that Simon’s phone rings for the third time in a row. He curses mentally - he muted his phone the first time; now, it was vibrating in his pocket. Awkwardly, the vibration itself is heard by everyone in the room and they turn their eyes on him almost instantly.

“Hell.” He curses out in a low voice before shaking his head. “My apologies, Captain.” His voice tries its best not to come out too annoyed, but he fails and it does; despite the timing being inconvenient, no one seems to be bothered. Johnny furrows his brows in concern, and looks over at Price, who seems to have the same, perhaps even more intense, look on his face.

Ghost mentions to pull out and turn off his phone once again, but Price is quick to intervene.

“Riley.” He crosses his arms over his chest. “Third time in a row; seems like somethin’ serious, get out and pick up.” He states comprehensively.

Despite being slightly reluctant, Ghost agrees - it must be something serious. What, he couldn't come to imagine - but if for a moment in his life he had something close to a hunch, it was now, and it said he should take that call.

“Alright, one minute. Move on without me.” He nods and leaves the room, phone in hand and a worried sigh leaving his nostrils. When the door closes behind him and he walks a bit further down the hallway, he picks up.

“Yes?”

“Is this Lieutenant Simon Riley?” A feminine voice asks from the other side. Sounds in the background, beeps and small, muffled voices.

“Affirmative, who’s this?” He frowns.

“This is from the Special Forces Manchester Hospital, are you familiar with the name- hmm…” She seems to be taking a couple seconds to read, and continues saying your name. 

He freezes in place.

How long has it been since he last heard this name? How long has it been since you vanished like thin air, disappeared, stopped calling or answering? Busy. That’s what he thought. Busy with work, busy with anything. The two of you had always been two busy people, in a desperate need for time.

For a moment, in those torturous seconds of silence, Simon found himself praying to a God he wasn't even sure he believed in, that this nurse wouldn't tell him you’re dead.

“Yes.” It’s all he manages to say, with his eyes running down to the ground in a dead stare. Dead eyes. He gulps, after the despair in his chest makes him speak once again, “Why?”

“Well- sir, you’re her emergency number, we’re calling because we couldn’t manage any family members… She’s in a coma. She was severely injured in combat, and [...]”

His heart stops, like it never did before. He doesn't react, his eyes look around as if he's searching for something - as if searching for his own reaction hidden somewhere within that empty hallway. The weight of your dog tag around his neck seems to be suffocating him now. 

To his silence, the woman continues.

“[...] it’s… currently sort of impossible to predict her state within the next few days, she’s fighting but struggling lots; can you come over?” 

“Yes.” He sharply replies, immediately. His eyes are still on the ground as he closes his eyes, and nods. “I’ll be on my way, yes.” 

“Good.” She replies, and he turns off.

For a moment, he stops to breathe; Ghost wipes his hand over his mouth in a somewhat guilty expression, he should have reached for you. He should have reached you the instant he missed you, your calls. 

“Hell…” He shuts his eyes for a moment, his heart stings like he’s poisoned, it hurts - some sort of pain he swears to god, he probably never felt before. Not when he lost his training dog, nor when he lost friends before - maybe because there were always a lingering possibility between the two of you. It was nothing but a friendship, never had been - but every word, every phrase was full of underlines of sentiment, an immense desire to reveal his interior and spit out the fears he refused to speak about to anyone else.

It's the possibility that kills him now. Even after all this time, not for a second did you cease to exist in his troubled and saddened mind. Suppressed by all the worries and feelings he thought were more important than you.

Not for a moment did he stop thinking about that pleasant end to his career, the retirement he knew he deserved, a house at least isolated from the rest of the world with trees and streams, the snow falling when winter comes and the sun scorching the land. land when summer finally arrived. You, on the front porch. 

You.  You.

You were leaning back on the sofa, your legs stretched out by the small table that marked the space between you and the balcony railing of his apartment.

The rain fell calmly, some thunder, but few drops. The sound of them falling against the roofs of the houses below the level where you were was echoing in your ears, and he seemed busy drawing patterns among the heavy clouds that covered the sky. 

He gave up trying to find any stars in that rainy sky and found comfort in finding your eyes instead. They were already watching him, almost expecting him to say something, even though the silence between two of you usually speaks volumes more than words itself; you’ve never been good with them, much less him. 

Simon looked down at your dog tag, lying brightly on your bust exposed by the tank top you wore. 

“What do you want to do after retiring?” He asked, his voice calm, his eyes almost closed. He took your necklace between his fingers calmly, and watched your shiny name exposed on the icy metal.

“Gotta be honest with you, can’t see myself retiring.” You replied, with your usual brutal honesty - something he particularly always liked so much about you. “What about you?” 

You don’t mind him, you allow.

“Don’t know.” He was, too, brutally honest. “Seek fuckin’ forgiveness for my sins before I die and end up in hell, I suppose.” 

You laughed.

“Oh, fuck. Gonna die trying to find that, mate.” You admit, raising your eyebrows in another big sip of your beer. “We’re all going to hell… At least we’ll all party there together.” You sounded fun, and your eyes turned into little lines with the genuine smile you let out when noticed that he too laughed at your joke. 

“We’re partyin’? Tell me Johnny isn’t going…”

“He’s my first guest.” You laugh harder.

“Thought that’d be me.” 

“You hate parties.” You raised your eyebrows.

“I don’t hate you.”

You silently smiled and looked away. 

“Fair enough.”

When it came to the two of you, there was nothing but connotation.

You could spend hours in that apartment alone with him - and you did. Did plenty of times, and yet, among subtle touches and heartfelt conversations, the end would be the same. Not in his bed, not in yours: by the door, with a rueful look and smile on your face. 

With a held back hug you never gave, a held back kiss you never allowed and an uncertain goodbye before departing on a mission that could take your or his life.

There was a phone call, once.

He called you late in the night. He was drunk. Too drunk. 

“I’m scared.” His voice was low, fluttering, like those cold days he’d be waiting for his dad’s arrival in his bed, under the covers, terrified and alone. “I’m scared. Can- can I see you? Can I come over, please?” 

As you hugged him on the couch in your own apartment now - that huge, strong, self-sufficient man collapsing in your lap like a baby in need of comfort, your heart was never right about anything like it was right about loving him. In that moment you knew it, you were fucking lost, taken, desperately in love.

You departed; you gave him your dog tag, he gave you his. A memory, an attempt. Do not forget me, you said. Don’t you dare forget me if I die, Simon Riley.

“I didn’t.” 

He looks at you with regret. The devices that help you breathe keep him from seeing you fully, whole - but still behind all those hospital beeps and sounds, you're still as beautiful as the first time he saw you.

He wants to go back to the past. Reverse everything he did, redo it from scratch; the first time he saw you, the first time he felt his heart ache listening to you talk about another man, all the times he repressed his feelings and swore not to love you.

“I want to be with you.” He mutters, his eyes emptily stare down your almost lifeless hand resting over his. “After I retire. I want to be with you.” He says again, closing his eyes, shutting them tight like he’s trying his very best to repress the tears he wants so bad to let fall. 

“I fuckin’ need you- I- how did this happen, how did you…” He gasps as the clock ticks, low, the sound of the hands ringing like doomsday inside his head. Every second that passed was one less with you. There are twenty minutes left for you to enter that operating room, and maybe you’ll never leave it again.

His eyes water and his legs give out, he kneels beside the bed, his suppressed voice sounding like a low, painful moan. The cry of a child who lost everything he had; of a confused teenager who would become a soldier, cold, dead inside, incapable of love - who loved you. Who loves you. “I’m scared. I’m scared- I love you.” He’d mutter, praying to all known gods to not take you. Take anything, anything from me; anything but her.

When the doctors came into the room and hurriedly moved your gurney to the ward in a desperate attempt to get your heart working again with the transplant, Simon sat in the waiting room with his face buried in his hands, his legs trembling. and the false hope that you would come back.

That you’ll be on that front porch, resting ever so happily, a bottle of beer in your hand and the dogs running around. He will have gotten rid of the mask and the habit of wearing it and you’ll be happy. You’ll be happy. You’ll be alive.

“God, please.” He mutters. “You’ve taken so much from me, now please, not this.”

He stands up as the doctor calls his name, with his heart on his hand and regret flashing his face off, he just wants another minute with you, another second with you, enough seconds so he can tell you he love you - he had, for most of his life and now, and he will, for the rest of his days with or without you.

Another random thought of the day!

So I kinda like seeing law flipping people, idk why. So I was thinking, imagine whenever he wants to discuss something with crush he gets close and/or to your level, for example, if they are sitted down he might sit next to them to talk or something like that.

Imagine that he sat next to them to discuss something ( a plan, some information, their opinion) and someone who sees that he just sat to talk to them they ask something like " what are you whispering about?" And Law would just, flip the person and keep talking to crush regardless? Like f- you, I am busy right now.

Bonus point if they are someone an idiot like who keeps talking too, despite witnessing the whole scene, but also giggles a bit because idk.

I think the sight of his crush giggling a bit at his reaction may make him smirk or give a small smile!

Oh I love this idea. Maybe the crews at an island, so you’re all out for the night at a bar or something.

I think pre-TS Law isn’t as intimidating so he’d have more girls trying to flirt with him whenever they go out. (Post TS I think most people would be too scared of him bc of the Rocky Port Incident and how he looks more… “creepy”? I guess? I can’t think of a good way to explain that). Anyway for this I’m going with pre-TS Law.

So he’s been dodging girls all night, because he knows all he wants is you. This shy nerdy virgin, rejecting all these pirate women that seemingly flock to him, plenty of free chances that he doesn’t take, all because he wants you, and only you. He’s already a bit peeved from having to constantly ignore them, so by the time he works up the courage to go sit with you (alone), he wants absolutely nothing to get in his way.

Law slides into a seat beside you, asking you casually, why you aren’t dancing or hanging out with the guys. He doesn’t clarify whether he means the crew or not, so you give him a look. He blushes, stumbling over his words as he just spits out “well- uh, I only meant… uhm. You’re just sitting here all alone, yknow?”

You nod, but brush it off. “Don’t worry about me, Captain. I’d rather be sitting in a corner by myself than getting wasted and aimlessly flirting with anything in sight.” It must be a dig at some of your crewmates, who are doing exactly that.

You and Law continue to talk, as it seems like he’s in the same boat as you. Only, you don’t know he’s trying to flirt with you. He’s so bad at it that you’ll never figure it out.

Anyway, you and Law are talking about something random and entirely unrelated to how he feels about you. It’s a very normal, pleasant conversation, but a random guy approaches, trying to sweet talk you. “This creep bothering you, honey?”

“Oh, no, he’s-“

“I can get you outta here, somewhere much safer… and warmer, even,” he winks at you.

“Oi,” Law snaps at the guy, flipping him off smoothly. As he lowers his finger, Law moves his hand to your back, protectively shielding you from the man.

The guy slurs something about Law, but stumbles away. Your Captain rolls his eyes, and goes straight back to talking to you.

Now, here’s one where the two are already together. Idk where else the setting makes sense, so once again… it’s a bar:

You and Law are standing together idly, watching your crew members make fools of themselves. The guys are shamelessly flirting with women, Bepo standing alone, head hung low as he seems disappointed that there aren’t any female bears in sight.

“Isn’t it funny, the sight of them all?” You giggle, leaning your head on Law’s shoulder. “I don’t think any of them realize how goofy they look when flirting.”

Law chuckles, wrapping an arm around your waist. “And they’re the ones who’d tease me for being a virgin up until we got together. Yet look at how hopeless they are.”

You laugh at his statement, placing a kiss onto your lover’s cheek. But, Law turns his head, causing your lips to land on his. Neither of you are sure why, perhaps it’s the lingering drinks you’ve shared, but there’s suddenly a fire between you two. You wrap your arms around Law, snuggling close into him, comforted by the soft yellow and black hoodie he wears brushing against your skin. Both of his hands are on your hips now, holding you close by your waist.

Despite being a bit tucked away in a darker spot of the bar during your makeout, it seems the crew has spotted the two of you.

“Captain! How about you two get a room?!” Penguin yells.

“Yeah, don’t gotta rub it in our faces that you guys wanna fuck!” Shachi adds.

You don’t hear Bepo, figuring he’s still sulking about the lack of love interests.

Law doesn’t pull away from you to tell the others off, instead you feel one of his hands leave your waist, and you peek one eye open, seeing his tattooed hand raised up, flipping your crew mates off. They stand there in shock, surprised by the captain’s response.

You simply giggle into the kiss, melting further into Law once his hand is back on your lower hip, tugging you closer to his body as he kisses you deeper, adding fuel to the fire between the two of you.

Watched the the new Zoey 101 movie (guilty) and I thought it was fine. I really think if they wrote a couple things a little differently it would’ve been better:

Like Quinn being overwhelmed by the wedding preparation because she’s never thought about having a big wedding but ofc Logan has, that all makes sense and I hear what she’s saying but I don’t really see what she’s saying. In terms of storytelling and film making, I feel like they should’ve dramatisized everything more. Like the life sized cakes was the only thing that seemed over the top and I can see how that’s a little much but nowhere else did it seem like Logan was making more of a “spectacle than making it meaningful”.

They should’ve run more with the sight gags like those cakes because as the wedding ends up looking just very plain (not a diss) but very classy and elegant looking. Even Quinn’s dress is so simple but beautiful.

It’s a small venue, the wedding colors are green, black, and white. Very simple. Some flowers here and there.

I guess Lyric was one of those overwhelming gags also to emphasize how “over the top” all this is but that’s her “gift” to them, she’s Quinn’s sister in law and they’ve known each other for nearly 15 yrs so why are we overwhelmed with something that should be normal coming from her ???

(p.s. unpopular opinion: I liked Lyrics’ song, the melody was great, the lyrics eh, but I like the line “she’s in her wedding dress and he’s hoping she’ll say yes”; very Quogan, very “She’s everything, He’s just Ken”.)

Anyway moving away from Quogan: Michael. Literally what is the point of taking one of the main main characters who bothered to return for this reboot, and having them lose their voice so they can’t speak for half the movie. You might say it’s due to controversy but if they cared about controversies, they wouldn’t have done this movie at all 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Stacey & Mark: to preface: personally I loved Stacey in the original and Mark is…Mark 🤷🏻‍♀️. I kinda wish they had mentioned Stacy’s original obsession with Logan in the series, I think that could’ve been fun if they worked that in somehow. They did mention Mark & Quinn dating but (ins how everyone feels about this) I would’ve liked if Mark had regret about dump—breaking up with (😅) Quinn and was holding a torch for her or something because again: she’s everything. The whole dynamic of Quogan and Stark being couple besties…wasn’t the vibe imo. The whole thing of Stacey interrupting the wedding bcs she’s obsessed with murder mysteries like since when?? How did that happen?? WHERE ARE THE COTTEN SWABS AND WHITE GLUE!!!!!? You’re gonna tell me a friend officiating their 2 friends wedding doesn’t think to turn off their notifications when they’re reading the nuptials off their phone during said wedding like—?? Especially when one of her announcements was for everyone to silence their phones????!

Speaking of phones out during the wedding: Zoey.

I mean…it’s Zoey (JLS) who’s surprised that this, the most special of days has to be made about her and her really weird and sad desire to go back to PCA. Also it’s really weird to me how that was the solution to the wedding being ruined when literally she’s the only one feigning to go back, the others are doing great and are cool being done with that. They look back fondly, not longingly, so idk why it was played like getting married at PCA is somehow Quinn’s dream and the solution to their problem. And if we do go back and have the Quogan wedding there, HOW ARE WE NOT GONNA INCLUDE THEIR BENCH!!!!? I mean maybe the group didn’t know about it, maybe, but Logan definitely would and speaking of Logan.

Nothing much wrong with him in the film tbh, he was so husband it was great actually, but what the hell was that line?? They’ve been together, again, almost 15 years. There is 0 chance he doesn’t know to talk to her if they’re having a problem. To be fair tho, I think the implication was that in the hustle and bustle and over the top ness of the wedding he lost sight of them as a couple and how their dynamic works and that’s why Quinn was upset but like, really?? all Zoey has to say is “have you tried just talking to her” and he remembers that that’s what they do…?? Okay.

Anyway, I think we all agree a Quogan movie would’ve been better. 😊😊

Okay so I just got hit with covid for the first time and I am ILL(TM) so there’s a high chance none of this is coherent, BUT I am a firm believer that you should always write for you. Which means that if you want to put the /tntduo tag on Rose, you should just do it because ultimately the people who don’t want to read that can either get over it or go read something else. Write the story you want to write and would want to read and the right audience will find it. (This is me begging you to say Fuck it we Ball.)

Also, I ran as soon as I saw there was a new summary, but I had zero time to scream about it and then I got sick, but now I’m going to scream about it anyway. I do think the snippet is a lot better than the first summary and now that we are slightly further in the story you can already reveal why Tommy is there. What gets me more is the description itself.

Assassinations?!? Like that was kinda a given, but having the confirmation has me excited. But more importantly THE IMPLICATION THAT THE CHOICE IS IN WILBUR’S HANDS? The implication that he has the power to control who will be chosen. Like either because Sam might outright ask him, or because he’s pulling the strings, it it would say Phil then, so that kinda also implies that Phil will still take whatever choice Wilbur makes. And yes I know it says guided by his father, but still.

And then the kicker [Wilbur must choose between loyalty, love, and power.] or in order: Niki, Quackity, and Tommy. Niki being loyalty is obvious, they are childhood best friends, but that loyalty is already wavering. Quackity being love is why we need that damn tag (I am LOOKING again). And Tommy is power because he’s the easiest to take advatange of, which means that if Wilbur plays his cards right, he could turn Tommy into his puppet king. (He could be that unspoken, most powerful man in the country, himself). But I kinda already sent an ask about that.

Wilbur and Phil are both going to have a lot of influence over who gets picked, you’ll see. And I’m glad you figured out the three traits and who they line up with so fast. Eli wrote that whole bit (really anything past the snippet was actually from Eli bc I’m so bad at writing summaries) and I was like THATS SO GOOD when they sent it to me.

But yea, the three options. Loyalty, love, or power. Because Tommy will give him so much power. It’s a matter of putting ambition above everything else.

It's a really good thing that jalen green's nature and upbringing as one of the hyped top picks has kind of steadied him through this. That's one thing I like about Kd, although he might not be a fav player of mine (I just personally don't rlly care for him but can understand why others do. He's very complex and way more interesting than the media tries to portray. on series 14: I kinda lumped it together with the 60th special because I have only been hearing news and am unable to properly place them with one or the other. Here are the things I am mainly concerned about:

RTD bringing back everyone from last time and (apparently?) actively keeping new talent at bay. Moffat and Murray Gold are the biggest names and yes I loved their work and yes I understand they're buddies. But the thing I liked about Chibnall's era was the attempt to let more diverse voices speak as writers and directors. Both rtd1 and Moffat era have flaws (chibnall's too obv, but I don't think he will be involved from now on?) and we should have learnt from them. The biggest takeaway should have been that we need more input from different writers/directors/people in charge of decisions. And so far it seems like series 14/the 60th is actively preventing that. Also, Murray Gold's music is amazing but we've had 10 series of that. We could give someone else a chance! (This rejection of change is my main point of concern tbh but it's a big one)

Conected to that I am concerned about racism. Especially rtd1 is - not great with that. And we'll be having our first full-time black Doctor. Luckily, it sounds like Ncuti was able to add to the role and decide some things. But if everybody writing for him is white? (not saying that they are but I've yet to hear the opposite) I am afraid how that will go down. There's already been that unfortunate (to put it lightly) bit about the announcement in a twitter post and the wrong regeneration plus numbering issue, making Ncuti be overshadowed by both David and Millie. That's not a good start. So, I sincerely hope they will do better from now on but as I said, reason for concern.

Again, connected to that. Rose. Oh God. I hope the name is just a coincidence that will go without further comment. Do not have a second woman of colour be forced into the shadow of Rose Tyler. Please.

Ruby. I actually thought Rose would be travelling with the Doctor, so in the beginning I was just confused. And since then I've been kinda bored? I mean, Millie's sweet. But I was hoping for an alien companion. Or a proper old companion. Or a literal child. Or a single male companion. Or a black companion. Literally anything but yet another young, white woman. We've had that so many times now? But like, honestly, this is a weaker concern. I'm still hoping she might be an alien after all and even if she isn't, it'll be fine. I've loved every single companion until now, I'll love her, too.

The clothes. There's the obvious thing with the regenerating suit but also the other outfits have left me kinda baffled? Since when does the Doctor know how to dress? But I mean, maybe it's an incarnation thing or maybe Ruby is just a really good influence. I'll take it, at least it looks beautiful.

Several of the things happening ( the regenerating suit, the old writers+Gold, the way press has been handling it (!) ) , also feels to me like they're trying very hard to forget about Chibnall Who. To make it seem like it never happened. Maybe that's paranoia but I think there were some really beautiful takeaways from 13 and her run (first and foremost how explicity nonbinary the Doctor is) that I am afraid might get erased/hidden now. I mean, canon is flexible in dw anyway and that's a good thing. But 13 is important to me and I want her to be honoured and remembered suitably.

Now, as I said, these are merely concerns. Not unfounded, I guess, but I am ready for the show to prove me wrong. I hope series 14 will be everything we hope for and that I'll be able to laugh about my ridiculous fears from above once it takes off. But, well, for now I remain only very cautiously optimistic.

Okay yeah, in terms of ppl working on the show, I agree that there's vibes of them making RTD2 have RTD1 vibes. I think the main RTD1 team being back makes some amount of sense bc I guess RTD just likes to work with the same group of ppl and they presumably all work at Bad Wolf together, and Moffat potentially doing an ep or two won't bother me as long as the line up of writers isn't just made up of returning writers (which I'd like to think it won't be). Murray Gold being back is probably the thing I'm most not happy about bc I think it's idk, cowardly? lazy? boring? to decide to bring him back instead of seeking out new talent. I saw some ppl be like 'well we need someone who we know can do good DW music' and I'm like... why are you acting like composers are rare as hell like I'm sure there's plenty out there that would've loved to work on Doctor Who but now they don't have the chance bc RTD brought back the same guy whose already done 10 seasons. I don't think it's the end of the world bc yeah I like Gold's stuff too but there will always be part of me, regardless of how good his new stuff is, that will be a bit bitter than RTD didn't get someone new in for S14 onwards. I think it makes sense for Gold to do the 60th, that's kinda fun, but past that it's like... why.

I defo agree about the racism concern. RTD1 isn't great with it at all. I always think about that bit in The Shakespeare Code where Ten tells Martha to walk around like she owns the place and the fact it's in an era ran by the person who is now in charge of our first main black Doctor. The general treatment of both Martha and Mickey is awful at times as well. I think I'm just kinda assuming/hoping that he's grown/learnt over the last however many years and will take more care with things. Bc I am interested to see how being black effects how the Doctor is able to get by in some situations and if we get some Shakespeare Code bs every time he's in that kind of situation I'll lose my mind a little bit. and yeah if RTD doesn't bring in at least a couple of black writers that will be genuinely weird as hell imo. Like even if the Doctor wasn't black, I think it's important for the show to keep trying to bring in diverse writers, new talent, etc, but especially now that the Doctor is black, a big ass team of white writers would be odd.

Honestly I think no matter why Rose Temple-Noble is called Rose - if it's a coincidence put in there purely for 14 to have a shock reaction or if it has some explanation within the story - I think RTD casting a black trans woman and naming her character Rose is ridiculous and I'll never be fully on board with it. There's literally been articles calling her Rose Tyler and imo it's very possible it has just increased the amount of hate Yasmin Finney has had thrown her way bc ppl don't like the idea of someone else (probably especially a black and/or trans woman) being called Rose or replacing Rose Tyler (even though that isn't what she's doing). I honestly find that interesting bc one of RTD's reasons for not wanting to have DT wear 13's outfit was bc he didn't want tabloids to run with it and stir up more transphobia but he has no issue casting the first trans actor in the show and giving her the name of one of the most beloved characters the show has ever seen??

Yeah I don't really feel much of anything towards Ruby rn. I'll probs like her once we see her in episodes bc I tend to like all companions but rn I'm just in awe at how unoriginal RTD has been in his character creation of a white blonde teenage girl who has a four letter name that means red and is, as far as I know, from London. Feels like 2005 all over again. the main thing that I've heard that I think sounds fun is how they've described 15 and Ruby's relationship as sibling-like.

14 not wearing 13's clothes is something I will be salty about forever and based on RTD's DWM explanation I think some of his reasoning for it was really not great despite what he says about it being out of concern for giving tabloids a reason to be more transphobic than they already are. I'm not about to analyse what he said rn bc this is getting long enough but the vibes are off imo. 15 is definitely way too fashion conscious like yeah the outfits for the most part look great but they don't scream Doctor to me at all. I also don't love that he so far doesn't seem to have a signature outfit, he's always in something different.

Tbh I think chances are the big step away from 13's eras that seems to be happening is probably bc RTD wants his new era to feel like a good stepping in point for the show (which is a thing I can't stand) but it doesn't worry me too much bc the show has obviously done that kinda thing before.

There's a couple things I will always be not too happy about but yeah most stuff atm is very dependant on how things go over the next year-ish. I'm really hoping all of these concerns just get washed away and RTD2 is amazing, and tbh I'm hopeful that it will be amazing and most of this stuff will end up not being an issue, but I don't think that means we're not allowed to have these thoughts rn yknow? Like I'm more than capable of changing mind as more info comes out and I'll gladly do that for these things.

feeling.. conflicted about that episode still. wasnt gonna say anything but im a little bit nervous about how joel and ellie are being handled at this point just like overall

ellie to a lesser extent i just feel like shes a little.. one note almost (they gave her the joke book and she had some nice moments with sam at least). theyre just playing so hard into the spitfire side of her but game ellie was way sweeter and kinder than i think people remember? when i started my re-playthrough even i forgot how like.. chill she was honestly. a lot of her anger was reactionary/in defense and not always just immediately antagonistic. hbo ellie needs more softness to her its starting to annoy me a bit how just outright hostile she is to literally everyone

but in joels case.. the changes they made this episode honestly i feel were detrimental to his character development. they make it seem like joel asking tommy to take ellie is more about the fact that hes aging and hes afraid hes going to get ellie killed, so he needs tommy to take her because he has a greater chance of making it back. and they side step a bit the selfishness of joels request. when in the game it was SOLEY about joels selfishness and how he could tell he was starting to feel protective of/close to ellie and wanted to stop that shit immediately by passing her off to tommy so he could just wash his hands of the whole thing (which would also put tommy at risk and maria chews him out for it (which i wouldve liked to have seen in the show but alas...)). and the argument he and ellie get into (after she runs away!!) is supposed to be the culmination of those feelings and how hes pushing her away and hes afraid of being a dad again (im NOT your dad. and we are going our separate ways). but ultimately chooses to stay with ellie and that choice is SO IMPORTANT!! and now in the show its like... ok so... now youre Not afraid of.. getting her killed? because you STILL have a bad ear and ptsd? (that he wouldve had for a while anyway so honestly its a little funny theyre playing it up so hard all of a sudden him clutching at his chest all the time is just kinda funny to me again where is the subtlety i dont see it). and like with this change it makes their argument (and their reconciliation) less powerful honestly to me at least. that argument they have is seared into my brain its still one of my favorite scenes but i just wasnt feeling it as much with this different set up of events (and also imo the game still has the better actor performances PLEASE watch those scenes if you havent)

and this side stepping of joels selfishness as a character is honestly a problem for me. and im afraid what it might mean for future episodes. because joels selfishness is very integral to his character. knowing what i do about whats coming down the line, and how theyve been talking about the “cure” so far, im so 😬 just clenching my teeth so hard. because they just... keep saying every once in a while that “there can never be a cure making a cure would be hard how would you even manufacture and distribute it?” (squinting REAL HARD AT THAT LAST ONE!!) and im soooo nervous that they might downplay just how much of a selfish asshole joel is and how they might try to make his future actions less terrible.... or justify them in some way..... or something equivalent to downplaying what happens..... 

i mentioned it a while ago but these are arguments the fans have been having since summer 2013 but what annoys me about it is that none of it even matters!!! because the Only thing that matters is joels selfish choice. not whether hes right or wrong. the ambiguity is the whole point!! the selfishness is the whole point!! joel doesnt care and hes gonna do whatever he thinks is necessary regardless of the repercussions. and i am just so afraid theyre gonna undercut that. I HOPE THEY DONT IM CROSSING MY FINGERS SO HARD THAT THEY DONT WE CAN CELEBRATE IF THEY DONT but sometimes people are afraid to let their characters be shitty and have flaws and act selfishly and joel is a bit of a controversial character already. i hope they dont try to make him/his actions more “acceptable” somehow. i LIKE that hes like this it makes him INTERESTING

but yeah the rest of the episode was fine i guess. loved seeing jackson. oh but i will say that the end of the episode felt so uneventful to me which is hilarious based off of what happens, but the way things play out in the game is SO TENSE and drawn out that in comparison was just really weak in the show unfortunately. im sure it was a “for time” reason and like it still gets the idea across but again just more reason for me to stand by the game still being The True Last of Us Experience. looking forward to the left behind episode tho i am so excited to see my girl riley again 💔

Just finished episode 3, and me and my friends are shipping Morg and Michael hard right now-

Really hoping that "brother" morg threw in there was a camaraderie brother and not them being actually siblings-

That one blind demon was also kinda adorable to me, especially how he got a little worried when Michael got quiet when he attacked-

I have an overwhelming urge to grab the blind demon by the scruff of his wrinkly neck and carry him off that island.

The Teen Aged Starting Puberty Shreck (TASPS as I will now call that imp) while annoying, is starting to grow on me. I also find it interesting that in this show demons are actually given a chance to join heaven's forces. Most teachings I was used to growing up was "You go to hell, you stay in hell! Forgive everyone but never forgive yourself!" Type of deal. Little me watching Bible man wished the demons would get a chance to not be defeated and be redeemed, so Angel Wars gave 7 year old me some peace with that.

As much as me and my friends make fun of the art style (mainly for the lighting and the explosions being better than the actual animation at times) this is a gem of a show.

I like Jaza his backstory is interesting. Honestly that scene makes me wonder if there's a tiny part of him that still has humanity left, or maybe he was just stunned he actually took down an archangel. I wish he appeared in more episodes.

I also like how demons are given a second chance. It's makes the fallen Angel parallels more deep and show that bad people can be redeemed if they CHOOSE it. That's what made Morg's death all the more meaningful. It wasn't a tragic "ne realizes he did do but just as he does he slips by accident" or giving up his life because he genuinely feels it's too late so he lets go as last repentance to give michael a chance to escape. No he flat out rejects Michael's peace offering! We love to talk how heroes can't save everyone but rarely do we point out how some folks don't want to be saved. But that don't mean we can't save anyone at all

I think more Christian shows could greatly improved on redeeming some of their villains. Even in the bible you had figures who were soldiers, thieves, prostitutes, adulterers, tax collectors etc who were able to rebuild their life. Bible even made a point that refusing to give someone a chance/playing the moral high ground is wrong. Ofc those people also had to choose to reinvent themselves. Even the first bibleman was a Capitalist Pig before his switch so would it make sense for him to also try to help antagonists like him? Cuz now I think about them most of them come off as emotionally immature adults who need a lot of guidance.

I dunno, everyone talks about how they miss a good unambiguously unrepentant villain, that's fair. I love a good villain. But at the same time we can't write off EVERY single one as irredeemable. Some ppl need help and a 2nd chance. So that's one of many reasons why i like Angel Wars so much.

Wanna know what really grinds Kriemhild's gears? Both Sieg and the Last Master of Chaldea have already followed in Siegfried's footsteps before she had a chance to steer them away from such self-destructive habits.

In fact, Chaldea's master may just proceed to further infuriate her without having much of a choice in it at all. At this point I'm not sure if she's angrier at her master's reckless stubbornness, or at Chaldeas itself for how many times they've had to rely on the master's dwindling luck to pull them through.

It's okay though. At least in my case when I'm done teasing her and nearly winding up dead for it, there will always be quality tea ready for her, courtesy of Sen no Rikyu and his newest apprentice.

As for Siegfried, not too sure if he's proud of the master, or increasingly horrified at how many times his love has had to give up more of their lifespan trying to aid Novum Chaldea at restoring the world. Probably a mix of both.

If you mean Guda/Ritsuka, then I feel like I'm not really equipped to give a proper answer to this compared to someone else, like Verse. There's definitely a lot of factors going on (being the Last Master of Humanity bc the world outside Antarctica is incinerated/the whole world is bleached, all of the other Masters candidates are fucking dead, having to save humanity bc this teen/young adult is literally the only hope, and even having Kadoc back on Chaldea's side might not even last long bc he might die), but Kriemhild is, without a doubt, pissed. At Chaldea, at the staff, at half of the other Servants, at Guda/Ritsuka, and when she learns why the incineration even happened, possibly pissed at Romani/Solomon and Marisbury as well. She's not paid enough for this shit.

Edit: in regards to Master, they could give any kind of answer to her as to why they joined Chaldea, and she would still be mad. Joined because saving the world, even when the events that would ultimately happened, sounded cool? They're sleeping on the couch with Siegfried for a month and a half. Kinda forced into it by a mage or regular family member? Not as mad, but still pretty pissed, and she now has a new target once this is all over. Joined because why not? She's mad and baffled. Joined because a few randos (who are Chaldea members in disguise) wouldn't leave them alone after giving blood in a blood donation? She's more mad at Chaldea now.

Siegfried would be... mixed. On one hand, it is admirable that they are willing to save the world. On the other hand, they (Guda) never asked for so much shit hitting the fan, and even though he loves both them and Kriemhild, it does frustrate him a bit that he can't do much besides help them in battle. He is glad, in a way, that they're not really going to sacrifice themselves like he did, since they're also intent on surviving through this.

Edit: roughly the same as before in regards to Master, plus a few things he's glad for like them acting as his impulse control of sorts, something that Kriemhild does appreciate. Although, if he finds out Master did join Chaldea because they wanted to save the world, he'll be like "oh no they were like me even before we met".

Once everything is said and done, I bet you 10 bucks that Kriemhild will take the polycule (plus the kids like Sieg and Jack) out for the longest possible vacation, because holy shit. Local Vengeful Widow did not ask for the bullshittery that is the plot of FGO's ongoing story.

Headcanon about where Stephen is right now?

hi hi, thanks for the ask ! im gonna warn yall though... this might be kinda sad- my apologies in advance </3

so, i think it's safe to say that the events of weak hero happen over a year/two-year span (could be a little longer if we include the gray-stephen backstory but i think it all went down not long before he came to eunjang), which means there's time for a lot of possibilities to happen. but, in my opinion, i'm leaning towards two—

stephen is still comatose: if i remember correctly (if it was said at all), stephen's brain function is likely still there. maybe not entirely, but the doctor did mention the possibility of him waking up + his parents even moved him to a more advanced hospital, which tells me he isn't completely brain dead — since if he was, he would legally/medically be considered dead and there'd be no point putting him on life support or entertaining a chance at life. as long as his brain function is there, then i think his parents have kept him on machines in the hospital with the hopes of him waking up eventually that being said, a coma doesn't usually last more than a few weeks, or months at most. but, from what i've read, some coma patients can stay in that state for years and still come out of it, though it's a rare case but not impossible !

stephen is awake, but permanently disabled/not yet recovered like the doctor said, even if stephen woke up, the likelihood of him living a normal life would be pretty slim... so, if he is awake, i think he's probably relying on assistance from his parents — and if he's still hospitalized, nurses as well — for most things (eating, bathing, changing, etc), because traumatic injuries (depending on where the injury occurs) can cause some degree of paralysis if certain areas are damaged. since he had such a serious fall, and it's safe to assume a large portion of his skull was impacted, then i'd also assume these areas were affected as well but if not completely affected, i'd like to think with a lot of physical therapy, he can regain some of his mobility ! so if he is alive, awake, and somewhat well, i imagine he's undergoing some serious efforts to help him get back to his life before — even if he never fully bounces back

of course, this is a webtoon and literally anything could happen- ffs he could've made a full recovery and is just moonlighting as supervillain or some shit (jk, but that'd be a crazy plot twist)

in the end, i just hope we get answers ! gray has gone back to busan before in hopes of finding him, and while it turned up nothing, i don't think it'd be ridiculous if he made that trip again to see where stephen is now — with the actual knowledge of how he's doing, obviously

Well, not so much his mutant cure, so much as the in universe mutant cure (the like other OTHER plot villain from X-Men last stand 🥴🥴)

Future Sarah here: putting a cut bc I might actually write this some day. It's kinda fresh from my usual lol

Equipment and paraphernalia that neutralizes the x gene and thus mutant powers isn't new, but at some point there was a vaccine basically lol that completely and permanently disabled mutant powers if administered.

Anyway, in this story toad and the reader are in an established relationship where reader has been assumed to be a human all this time. The kicker here is that we have been slowly getting... Sick, or something. Tired, is more like it, but why? no one seems to know. To his chargin, toad brings us back to the X-Men for help after we have finally and suddenly collapsed in a comatose state.

Turns out, 1) we actually are a mutant and 2) unlike the forward evolution that most mutant powers give, ours is degenerative. The dark side of genetic mutation, if you will. Basically it's like an autoimmune disease of sorts: The body runs on little jolts of electricity that it generates, but in this story we are slowly losing said jolts through static shocks and contact, leaving us with literal less and less energy until we are finally unable to function normally.

The professor tries some of his mind stuff to let us and toad talk to see what can be done. Shit happens as we learn in the mind world talk that reader is basically on the edge of giving up and just letting death come. Ole toad, in his insecurity driven, anxiety riddled self, takes this to mean that we do not love him anymore, as apparently the thought of himself and your relationship together doesn't spring to the front of your mind as a motivation to keep fighting.

This is untrue of course, and simply has more to do with the fact that we are beyond our ropes end and literally have one foot in the grave as it is, but he refuses to be dissuaded about it. Heartbroken as he is, he still refuses to give, or let you, give up. You're the only one he's ever loved, and even if you don't feel as strongly about him as he feels about you, he can't just sit by and let you go.

More stuff happens with a side of shading the professor, but mainly another falling out with the X-Men all over what is to be done for us, and toad makes off to indulge in a little bit of crime to procure that dastardly Mutant Cure™ that the X-Men hate so much. Not a moment too soon, he sneaks back to save you. Only now it's just... Well, he can't just inject his beloved with an experimental drug without knowing for sure that it works, right?

So, toad takes one of the doses of the mutant cure himself. While yes, in the hopes to prove if it works (the effects are all but instant, as the movie shows us), but with the underlying hope that perhaps if he can make himself "normal" too then he'll earn back your love. Besides, even if not, being a regular human is all he's ever wanted, and now... He has his chance.

Now fans of the xmen may remember the mutant cure took away mystique's blue scales and such after all, but unfortunately for the fans (and toad) I think that's bs. That's right, no science, I simply just don't want it lol. His appearance doesn't change, but through what should be a super strength fueled fit of rage, he finds his powers are indeed gone.

He gives you the shot, and over time you're able to build and retain energy again, saving your life. Next time he sees you, toad is despondent that he still looks the same as before, although seems to be completely apathetic about losing his powers. This comes as a shock to you as you of course had no idea he tested the drug in himself first, but ultimately we get a little bit of the Shrek 3 ending where you reassure him that you ultimately love him for his appearance, not in spite of it.

It's a bit more complicated on your relationship in the end then I'm making it out to be, considering he permanently and recklessly altered himself with an experimental drug and all, but it's left to be interpreted as a happy, but lightly strained ending

hopping into your inbox because the post is getting a little long LOL but basically, in the rolled charlie says something like "yeah i didn't even really know what i was saying, when i was in character as william & criticizing WATCH" [paraphrased] which leads me to believe that he doesn't think william is right, or at least doesn't understand the logic behind it. it's definitely possible they go some kind of system-criticizing villain route, but i'm not sure it'll be handled well because of stuff like that.

i had some hope because dakota was wondering why villains were put in prison, but that slid directly into a joke where he was like "is anything even real???" and it seemed more like the purpose of his talk with bookworm, was like. him trying to convince bookworm that the lich was not really a living thing, and therefore ok to kill. rather than a genuine criticism of heroes. which is further backed up by grizz saying that he wouldn't agree with anything william & vyncent are saying, rather blaming himself for tide's depowering :(( grizzly also said that he thinks if william and vyncent went that way, there'd probably be a huge argument and a large ideological rift— none of this necessarily means that it'll be handled badly though!! just means dakota probably won't be going that direction soon, but he did get a look at some nuance bc of wavelength

there's still potential for sure!! vyncent is as down to kill (confirmed by condi in the rolled) as ever. i think the william & vyncent's talk turning into a joke, as well as bizly's comments, kinda put me off so i might be biased LMAO

definitely possible that more is going on up top than we know! related to that—i'm pretty interested to know how the ms g plotline will progress, with the power vacuum as she's out of action. would love to know more about why they're keeping that secret, and the potential consequences of it going public. hoping it'll be interesting HAHA

i will be kinda disappointed if they throw away the potential to create a story about youth realizing how fucked up their government is and having the chance to actually do something about it. as said before, we don't know how it really all works, but a system that looks this fucking bad has some problems.

the council may also just be afraid to do a story like that because. y'know. i'm sure some people just refuse to accept the death penalty ever being a good thing. it could possibly be controversial, idk. it's almost like bizly himself is trying to get the message across that you shouldn't kill people, which is fair, but this is superheroes. people in our daily lives don't have the insane abilities like they do on prime.

i get that jrwi IS a comedy show for the most part at the end of the day, but... god i really hope they don't waste this chance...

then again, the council themselves could have very different opinions from us, and i don't think they've thought about all the implications/repercussions that come from what the watch has done (other than maybe bizly). i'm just someone who loves talking about politics/government on a large scale, so i think through everything that probably will never cross their minds.

hopefully, we'll get an idea soon about where the council is heading with prime defenders. i'll 99% probably support whatever direction they take, so in the end, it doesn't really matter.

(and as i keep saying, there's a WHOLE lotta shit we don't know about the watch. we'll probably find out very soon what they actually do with supervillains, if they're not all just locked up in a supermax forever)

I would hope she would be friends with Bee at least, because Cyberverse already have us this relationship and they had such great chemistry before they both got sidelined in S2 and on. Especially when one Earthspark's focus are emotions.

So I'm gonna assume that Windblade is kinda similar to her Cyberverse and a bit of IDW counterparts and she has telepathy.

So if we'll take a scenario when they aren't friends yet, I could imagine them bonding over the sense of loneliness bc of their positions.

Bumblebee is lonely because he's a spy and scout, plus he's struggles with sense of belonging (which why he always seek approval from higher ups but his interaction with Elita-1 in EP3 implies they just don't understand what "being a hero" means to him) and he was made fun of before ( also implied in EP3).

Windblade is lonely because of her position as Cityspeaker which means she will be placed onto unreachable pedestal (which was implied in Cyberverse I believe). Yes, people will respect her and look up to her, but forming personal relationships will be hard.

And if we take to account that Bumblebee is youngest among legacy bots, there is a big chance he might not even what who Cityspeaker is. He probably would just acting around her like with any other person and this make her relieved and relaxed and and that how their friendship would form.

If we will take a scenario where they know each other, this could go into few different directions.

Ofc one where they just know each other and that it, kinda sad bc I want to what Cyberverse did, but better and deeper.

Another one they are friends but this gonna involve a lot of drama!

You know how GHOST is shady and and Optimus does anything to keep Bumblebee away from them. Logically he probably does it to have a spy outside of GHOST influence ( and probably same goes to Wheeljack) and then EP10 also implies that another reason Op wants Bee to stay hidden is to form a real human-cybertronian alliance with him in charge.

But what if there is a third reason? What if GHOST have Windblade who is kept in stasis because they know about telepathy and want to use her in their plans, and potentially they can use Bumblebee as leverage against her?

Which also adds more to Optimus' turmoil because he knows, but there is nothing he can do about it.

(Side Note: the more I'm thinking about the whole GHOST situation, the more I realize that some ppl in fandom just don't get the full scope of this.

Many just immediately side with Megatron without looking into nuance of the situation, mostly bc IDW kinda messed up (tho maybe it started earlier? TFA had seeds for it, and whatever was happening in Bayverse too) with faction characterization. Now a lot of fans see Megatron is revolutionary and deceptions were oppressed by government, while Autobots represent this government... I personally have TON of issues with this entire idea ( esp when SG exist) and that's the main reason why I didn't read comics, but I wont got into this here, esp considering how controversial my opinion is.

Anyway, looking at grand scope of thing you can see the difference between two leaders.

Megatron cares for his people, while his care about humans and Earth only extends to Dot and her family and that's it. Nothing stops him from starting the shit again and probably the only reason what stops him is Dot. Which btw I like a lot and wanna see where this go ahahah.

While Optimus does not only cares about his people, but humans and Earth too and this is why he ended in this situation in first place! He doesn't want a destruction of another sentient species and that why he grabs any opportunity to avoid it even if it mean he has to work with shady ppl that will probably backstab him.

Which btw, Dot understood very well in EP5 and she found a common ground with Optimus here, but some ppl choose to ignore it ofc.

This is why its important to him that Bee ( and probably Wheeljack?) stay out of GHOST eyes, bc his own hands are fucking tied.

Meanwhile rough Decepticons are causing shit simply bc they don't care about humans. Because if Autobots can stay hidden, they could do that too and I'm pretty sure Megatron would supply them with energon just like Optimus supply his bots ( bc cmon I don't think Bee could go a least 15 years without taking energon ahah).

But because there is a huge rift between cons and Megatron this not gonna happen. Tho I wonder if there are cons that followed Megatron into this? Maybe even cons with GHOST badges? This would be interesting to see~ Maybe there is Thundercracker out there, hiding like Bee and writing movie scripts? And something tells me we will more cassettes in wild too.

The only thing is unclear to me is why would Op destroy the ground bridge? Because this clashes with what I said above? Was is a poor panicky decision? Or there is more to is and things, again, isn't that simple as everyone thinks? Like maybe Megatron was the one who destroyed it and Op took the blame because humans would be nicer to him? Time will tell.)

Okay I got really distracted, but I wanted to talk about this as well, so I apologies.

Anyway, another idea that Windblade might show up later by Malto's door just like Arcee did and maybe she would stay and teach terrans as well since she's a flier and Twitch as also a flier and sword user!

And they fact I think Windblade could teach terrans some combat, because Bee's is more focused on scouting stuff and maybe shooting, while Windy could teach them melee combat ~

And maybe she help Bee to open up more and lower his defenses? Maybe! That's all ideas a have for now))
